79 Years Later, One of the Best Noir Thrillers Ever Debuts on a New Streamer
The Hollywood crime dramas of the 1940s are typically known as “film noir.” With a cynical morality that puts them at odds with contemporary censors, and black-and-white cinematography that made cities into fearsome urban jungles, film noir remains popular to this day. 1947’s Out of the Past, a twisty thriller starring Robert Mitchum as a mystery man with a shady past, is often considered one of the best noirs, if not the best, and you’ll be able to catch it at its new streaming home next month.
Out of the Past was adapted from the 1946 novel Build My Gallows High, by Daniel Mainwaring (Invasion of the Body Snatchers); it was acquired by RKO, a B-movie studio that lavished a surprisingly high budget on the production. It was directed by French-American director Jacques Tourneur, best known for helming the Val Lewton horror pictures Cat People and I Walked With a Zombie. Mitchum was a regular in RKO pictures, and had been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor two years before, for The Story of G.I. Joe. His role in Out of the Past solidified him as an archetypal leading man of film noir. You’ll be able to see for yourself when Out of the Past comes to HBO Max on April 1.
The History of Hollywood — Introducing the First Collider Movie Quiz!
From the Talkies to ‘Twister,’ test your cinema knowledge with some tough questions about these Hollywood firsts!
What Is ‘Out of the Past’ About?
As the film opens, Jeff Bailey (Mitchum) is the owner of a gas station in a sleepy mountain town. Soon, Bailey’s true identity is revealed: He was New York private eye Jeff Markham, who was hired by hot-tempered crime kingpin Whit Sterling (Kirk Douglas, in one of his first screen roles) to track down his missing girlfriend, Kathie (Jane Greer). Jeff and Kathie fall in love, and everything goes wrong in both the past and the present, conveyed via an innovative flashback structure.
Out of the Past was remade as Against All Odds in 1984, with Jeff Bridges, Rachel Ward, and James Woods; Greer had a supporting role in the film. Out of the Past also had an unexpected sequel, of sorts, 40 years after it was released. Mitchum hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live in 1987, and starred in a black-and-white pre-taped sketch titled “Out of Gas.” It picks up on Jeff, decades later, running the last leaded gas station in America. One day, Kathie (Greer, also reprising her role) pulls up to the pumps, and hilarity ensues.
Out of the Past will be available to stream on HBO Max starting April 1. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

Did Alex Kurtzman Personally Sign Star Trek’s Death Warrant?
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

One of the many reasons Trekkies were salty about Starfleet Academy is that they wanted a different show entirely. Specifically, they wanted Star Trek: Legacy, a series in which Seven of Nine is the captain of the Enterprise.
Picking up where Picard left off, this show would give us adventures set in the 25th century while mixing new characters with familiar faces from shows like The Next Generation and Voyager. Fan demand for this show was insanely high, and since we never got it, there have been persistent rumors that Alex Kurtzman hated and ultimately killed that project, driving Picard showrunner Terry Matalas away so that he could focus on Starfleet Academy, his passion project.

Now, Jamie Rixom of the popular Tachyon Pulse podcast has presented a different narrative. He claims that both Kurtzman and Paramount were very eager to make Star Trek: Legacy, but that Kurtzman convinced them to do Starfleet Academy first.
However, the merger with Skydance and the subsequent purchase of Warner Bros. suddenly turned the future of the franchise into a question mark. If this is true, then Kurtzman effectively signed Star Trek’s death warrant by insisting on a doomed show that will almost certainly result in Paramount killing the franchise as we know it.
A New Spin On Old Rumors

During his recent podcast, Jamie Rixom addressed the most common narrative about Star Trek: Legacy. Namely, that Alex Kurtzman was jealous of how much fans liked Picard Season 3 and how much credit they were giving to showrunner Terry Matalas. That narrative (which, to be fair, is mostly touted by avowed Kurtzman haters) claims that Kurtzman wanted to ice Matalas out and then shove Starfleet Academy down our throats. There has never been any real confirmation of these rumors, but based on the fact that he was co-showrunner, it seems true that SFA was a real passion project for Kurtzman.
Rixom presents an interesting variant of these rumors. Citing his insider knowledge of studio wheelings and dealings, he claims that Paramount and Kurtzman were very keen to do Star Trek: Legacy, but that the network didn’t want more than two Trek shows streaming at once. Therefore, Starfleet Academy got the green light first, and there were allegedly plans to start working on Legacy after Strange New Worlds wrapped up. However, the merger with Skydance effectively shut down production of new shows in the franchise, though hopes were high that the already greenlit SFA would prove popular. Now, that show has been canceled after Season 1, leaving Star Trek in a kind of creative limbo.
Our Last Hope, Lost

Obviously, the show will go on, and Paramount will create new movies and TV shows in this franchise because it is one of their most bankable IPs. Why, then, do I believe that Alex Kurtzman has killed the brand as we know it? Because we’re never going to get another show anything like the Golden Age of Star Trek. Legacy was our last shot at getting a series that had familiar faces and took place in the beloved time period of TNG and DS9.
If Legacy had gotten the green light instead of SFA, then its inevitable success (remember how much everyone liked Picard Season 3?) would encourage Paramount to make more Trek shows and movies in this vein. Now, though, I’d bet my last bar of gold-pressed latinum that Paramount’s new leadership will look at the failure of Starfleet Academy and the general train wreck that is NuTrek and decide to reboot this entire universe for a second time. Kurtzman haters may cheer at this prospect, but consider this: new shows headed by a new empty suit who has even less reason to care about canon are going to be even less like classic Trek than ever before.
Star Trek In Name Only

Star Trek: Legacy wasn’t just fans’ wishful thinking: it was, in every way that counts, the last chance to get a new show with the vibe of beloved series like The Next Generation and Voyager. Even in the kinder, gentler narrative of Jamie Rixom’s alleged insider info, Alex Kurtzman is still the guy who personally championed making SFA instead of Legacy. He had no way of knowing about the upcoming changes to Paramount, but his decision still guaranteed the last show of the NuTrek era was a complete failure that will likely doom this franchise as the network builds new shows that are Star Trek in name only.
Before Paramount fully runs Trek into the ground, I have a simple request: can you please shoot Kurtzman’s contract out of the nearest airlock?

Maren Morris Recalls ‘Depressing’ First Experience With A Woman
Country music star Maren Morris has opened up about her first relationship with a woman after coming out as bisexual in 2024.
The singer, unfortunately, didn’t have nice things to say about the experience, branding the brief relationship “f-cked up.”
Maren Morris shared that within weeks of their casual romance falling apart, the unidentified woman resorted to lies and even threatened to destroy her reputation.
Maren Morris Says Her First Experience With A Woman Was ‘Pretty F-cked Up’

In a video shared on her TikTok page on Wednesday, Morris spoke about her bisexual journey, recounting her “depressing” experience dating a woman for the first time.
“I briefly was seeing a woman, and I was not looking for anything serious,” she said per Page Six. “I feel like I’m at a point in my life right now where I don’t have that to give.”
The singer said she “was very clear” about what she wanted from the relationship because she’s “all about communication,” adding that the unidentified woman responded, “‘Oh, totally. I’m down.’”
However, according to Morris, things quickly went awry: “I’m not kidding, within like, three weeks of this completely falling apart, it was lies, threats to my reputation and borderline extortion.”
“It was pretty f-cked up. And for that to be my first experience, it was just so depressing,” she continued, before adding she is “just really cool being alone” now.

Speaking further about the “f-cked up” relationship, Morris shared that her friends from the lesbian community told her it was not an unusual experience, hinting that it was to be expected when one starts dating women.
“‘You start seeing women, and one is going to almost ruin your life,’” Morris recalled a pal of hers saying, per Page Six. “‘We’ve all been there. You just have to push through.’”
The singer then asked her fans, “Is that a thing?” while chuckling in disbelief at the advice she received.
Morris captioned the video “bi trauma.”
Fans of the star also advised her to stay strong, with one writing, “Every other one will be crazy, but hang in there. When you are ready, it will happen. You have to be good being alone first.”
Maren Morris Recently Slammed Trump Voters

Morris’ comments about her first experience dating a woman come shortly after she went viral for her scathing criticism of people who voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential elections.
In a TikTok video, the 35-year-old said she has little patience for those who continue to back the president.
She criticized what she described as loyal “triple Trumpers,” arguing that voters ultimately bear responsibility for the political situation they helped create.
“You did vote for this,” she said. “He is a dementia ridden, diaper-clad, cornball, ex-TV host … you voted for this, and you got bamboozled. This is literally the result of ploying and voting for losers.”
Morris has long been vocal about politics and how those views have shaped her experience in the country music industry. Earlier this year, the “Chasing After You” singer reflected on how her career has unfolded alongside major political shifts in the United States.
The Singer Reflects On Career Success Amid A Politicized Country Music Scene

In a January TikTok, Morris explained that her breakthrough single, “My Church,” brought her major success when it was released in 2016. The song gained heavy country radio play and later earned her a Grammy Award.
But the timing of that success coincided with Trump’s first presidential victory, which she said made the atmosphere around her career feel increasingly political.
“My entire, like, success of my first record was under this first year of Trump’s reign. So weirdly everything felt very political, even though, like, no one cared that much before,” she noted.
Her debut album, “Hero,” arrived just months before the 2016 election, and Morris said the industry climate changed noticeably afterward.
According to the singer, the past decade of her career has largely taken place during a period defined by the Trump presidency, the administration of Joe Biden, and Trump’s return to the political spotlight, which has made the country music space “very politicized.”
Maren Morris Embraces Her Queer Identity, Shares Pride Celebration With Fans

Beyond politics, Morris has long been outspoken about her progressive beliefs, frequently criticizing conservative politics and right-leaning media while advocating for causes like LGBTQ+ rights and racial justice.
Last June, she celebrated her first Pride since coming out as bisexual, reflecting on her journey amid a country music scene she has called “toxic” in the past. Morris shared the milestone with her Instagram followers, writing, “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy Pride!”
Previously married to fellow country singer Ryan Hurd, 39, the couple shares a five-year-old son, Hayes Andrew Hurd. Morris has said she “always knew” she was attracted to both men and women but had never publicly discussed it.
In an interview with The Zoe Report, she explained that her straight relationships over the past 15 years, combined with the demands of her music career and life in Nashville, had kept her from coming out sooner.
“I never felt brave enough to talk about it,” she said. In June 2024, she finally embraced her truth. “That was just a facet of me that I didn’t think I wanted private anymore,” Morris said.
She added, “I wanted to be able to connect with my fans and my queer community. Especially in a time where you’re in this free-for-all post-divorce reckoning, community has been so necessary for me and life-saving. Being honest and being vulnerable is the only way that you find community.”

Justin Theroux and Wife Nicole Brydon Bloom Welcome 1st Baby
Justin Theroux and his wife, Nicole Brydon Bloom, are officially parents following the arrival of their first baby.
“He’s here 🕊️ we are so in love,” Theroux, 54, and Bloom, 32, wrote via a joint Instagram post on Saturday, April 18, alongside a black and white photo of the newborn lying across the actor’s chest.
News broke in December 2025 that Theroux and Bloom were expecting their first baby nine months after their wedding.
That same month, Bloom confirmed her pregnancy when she debuted her baby bump at the season 2 premiere of Fallout in Los Angeles. The actress glowed in a sparkly figure-hugging dress on the red carpet as she posed for photos and held hands with Theroux.
Bloom and Theroux subsequently closed out the year with a babymoon in Mexico.
“So much fun to revisit our favorite place with a little one on the way 🕊️👶🏼,” she captioned an Instagram post featuring photos from their December 2025 getaway.
Bloom and Theroux stayed at Hotel Esencia in Xpu Há, Mexico, where the couple tied the knot in March 2025.
After their trip to Mexico, the pair traveled to Florida to spend time with family. Bloom shared several photos of their time at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, showing off her pregnant belly in the process.
In January, Bloom posed solo on the red carpet at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, cradling her baby bump in a champagne sequined gown. (Her show Paradise was nominated for Best Drama Series but ultimately lost the accolade to The Pitt.)
Theroux and Bloom were first linked in February 2023. The duo were later spotted kissing while out for drinks in New York City that August. That December, Bloom made their romance Instagram official when she posted a photo of Theroux at her twin sister Chrissy’s wedding.
Theroux and Bloom got engaged in August 2024 when he proposed while they were in Italy for the 2024 Venice Film Festival. She sparked rumors about their upgraded relationship status when she was spotted with what appeared to be a diamond ring on her left hand at the premiere of Theroux’s movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice earlier that month.
“Of course, I was nervous proposing,” Theroux told The Times in September 2024. “It is a question after all, so the answer isn’t guaranteed. But it was wonderful.”
News broke in March 2025 that Theroux and Bloom tied the knot in Mexico. Photos obtained by TMZ at the time showed the newlyweds taking romantic photos on the beach with the bride in a white wedding dress and the groom in a coordinating white tuxedo.
Prior to his relationship with Bloom, Theroux was married to Jennifer Aniston from 2015 to 2018. After they parted ways, Theroux explained why he opted to keep his love life private following the scrutiny surrounding his marriage to Aniston.
“There’s something to, once you’re out of that, where I want all of my relationships to exist within the four walls of whatever room we’re in,” he told Esquire in May 2023. “And I’m not trying to be evasive but I talk to Jen — I don’t talk about Jen. People will always want to gossip and say things, but you have to find that balance.”

Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom may keep things low-key but their romance has been quite the whirlwind.

“There’s something to, once you’re out of that, where I want all of my relationships to exist within the four walls of whatever room we’re in,” he told Esquire at the time.
It wasn’t until December 2023 that Theroux and Bloom quietly made things Instagram official. Nicole brought the actor as her plus one to her twin sister Chrissy Brydon Bloom’s wedding. Theroux was featured in a series of snaps from the occasion.

Andrea Barber Says TV Today Feels ‘Fractured’ Compared To ’90s
Andrea Barber is leaning all the way into nostalgia, and she’s not sugarcoating how much she misses the era that made her a household name. Best known for her role as Kimmy Gibbler on “Full House,” Barber became one of the most recognizable faces of ‘90s television. And while the industry has evolved dramatically since then, Andrea Barber is making it clear that not all change is for the better.
Andrea Barber Gets Candid About What’s Been Lost

While attending “American Idol”’s ‘90s-themed night, the actress opened up about her deep connection to the decade and why it still holds such a special place in her heart. “I miss the ’90s. It was, like, the last innocent decade before the world got really heavy,” Barber told Entertainment Tonight. “And it just brings about comfort and safety and love, and what’s not to love about that.”
For Barber, it’s not just about personal memories, but it’s about the overall feeling of that time, both on and off screen.
Network TV ‘Was Where It Was’ And Streaming Changed Everything

The former sitcom star didn’t hold back when comparing the television landscape then versus now, pointing to the dominance of network TV as something that brought audiences together. “Dude, man, network TV, that was where it was,” Barber said, calling the ‘90s the “network TV heyday.”
Today’s streaming-heavy world? She says it just doesn’t have the same impact. “Now, you know, it’s a little bit fractured,” Barber explained, adding that although the variety is “okay,” she misses the simplicity of sitcoms.
In today’s TV world, viewers are spread across platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, where full seasons drop at once, and everyone watches on their own time. While that on-demand access is convenient, it’s also taken away the shared, real-time experience that once had audiences tuning in together every week.
Andrea Barber Says ‘We Just Want To Laugh’ As She Slams Heavy TV Trend

Barber also made it clear she’s craving a return to feel-good programming, arguing that not everything needs to be intense or emotionally heavy. “We don’t need heavy TV, we don’t need dramatic or sad TV, we just want to laugh and let go,” she said. It’s a sentiment that longtime sitcom fans will likely agree with, especially those who grew up during TV’s lighter, laugh-track-driven era.
But beyond the fame and cultural impact, Barber says the most meaningful part of her journey has been the relationships she built along the way. “They’re so special,” she admitted. “They are family. Absolutely family.” That connection hasn’t faded with time, either. In fact, she revealed the cast was recently texting in their group chat ahead of the event, celebrating Candace Cameron Bure’s milestone 50th birthday.
That tight-knit bond clearly isn’t just for show. It’s something Barber and her castmates still lean into in their everyday lives, even decades later. During an episode of “How Rude, Tanneritos!,” Cameron Bure stepped in as host while Jodie Sweetin was away, giving fans a glimpse into the duo’s decades-long connection offscreen.
Barber And Cameron Bure Still Use Their Iconic Character Names In Real Life

The longtime co-stars instantly slipped back into their iconic roles, greeting each other, “Hi, D.J.! Hi, Kimmy!” before laughing about a tradition they’ve kept alive for years. “Does everyone know that we call each other Kimmy and D.J.?” Cameron Bure asked. “I don’t know. If they don’t, they do now,” Barber replied. “That we literally call each other that every time we see each other.”
“Every time we see each other,” Cameron Bure confirmed. The habit even caught fellow ‘90s star Jaleel White off guard during a run-in at 90s Con. “Jaleel White, who, of course, played Urkel, was there and…he stopped in his tracks and he was like, ‘Whoa, what? Did you, for real, just call each other your character names?’ It was weird to him but not to us.”
Andrea Barber Admits Turning 50 Feels ‘Surreal’

Today, Barber is preparing to hit a big milestone herself, turning the big 5-0. Calling the upcoming birthday “a big moment,” she admitted the number doesn’t quite match how she feels. “I still feel like that 15-year-old in Kimmy Gibbler’s clothes.” And that’s exactly why fans still love her.

Rosie O’Donnell Addresses Eric Swalwell Support Amid Scandal
Rosie O’Donnell has addressed previously supporting politician Eric Swalwell before his sexual misconduct scandal came to light.
“You can’t help but feel all of the chaos of the country when you’re there, like, you can’t help but feel it,” O’Donnell, 64, said in a recent TikTok video about her recent trip across the pond from Ireland to visit family. “Can we talk for a little bit about Eric Swalwell? I know that guy.”
O’Donnell further revealed that she had previously spoken with Swalwall, 45, “on the phone a couple times” and likely donated money to his campaign.
“[I] talked about him in some public appearances years ago about how I believed in him and his cute little family,” the actress recalled. “[I spoke about him] standing up to all those people when he berates them for their moral-less behavior, and then all this comes out.”
News broke earlier in April that multiple women, including one of Swalwell’s former staffers, accused the disgraced congressman of sexual misconduct and harassment. He vehemently denied the accusations.
“These allegations are false and come on the eve of an election against the frontrunner for governor,” Swalwell said in a statement. “For nearly 20 years, I have served the public — as a prosecutor and a congressman and have always protected women.”

He continued, “I do not suggest to you in any way that I am perfect or that I’m a saint. I have certainly made mistakes in judgment in my past. Those mistakes are between me and my wife. And to her, I apologize deeply for putting her in this position.”
Swalwall has been married to Brittany Watts, with whom he shares three children, since 2016. While Watts has not publicly addressed the scandal, Swalwall has since resigned from his position in the U.S. Congress and suspended his campaign for California governor.
As for O’Donnell, she found the scandal to be “heartbreaking.”
“I wrote him a little message, and I said, ‘Bill Clinton broke my heart and now you did too,’” she said. “The conclusion I’ve come to: ‘Men suck.’ The way that they are physiologically they can’t, sort of, control their sexual urges. This is what I find.”
Swalwall, who has not publicly responded to O’Donnell’s message, has vowed to fight the accusations.
“We are confident that the truth will prevail,” his attorney Sara Azari said in an April statement, denying the allegations. “We will pursue every available legal remedy against those responsible for orchestrating these reprehensible campaign of lies.”

Lori Loughlin’s Hairstylist Sets Record Straight On New Look
Lori Loughlin is going viral after debuting a dramatic new hairstyle, and the internet immediately had one big question: Is it real? The “Full House” alum stepped out at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art gala rocking a sleek, layered bob with long, face-framing bangs, sparking major buzz online as fans debated whether the bold look was a wig or a real cut.
Fans Divided Over Lori Loughlin’s New Look

The transformation quickly sparked mixed reactions online, with fans divided over the dramatic change. Some weren’t convinced by the style, with one writing, “Wig or not, she didn’t look good.” Others rushed to defend the actress, praising her fresh look with comments like, “she looks fabulous,” and “Mmmmm, looking good.”
Olivia Jade Giannulli was just as stunned as fans by Loughlin’s dramatic transformation, and she made sure to let everyone know. The 26-year-old influencer gushed over her mom’s red carpet look from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Opening Gala, sharing snaps of the duo together on Instagram Stories. “How does my mother look like this?” Giannulli wrote alongside the photos, clearly impressed by Loughlin’s bold new style.
Loughlin’s Hairstylist Shuts Down Viral Hair Rumors
Before speculation could spiral any further, Loughlin’s hairstylist, David Robert Naumann, stepped in to clear the air. After one fan commented, “Cute, but it’s a wig,” Naumann responded directly, “It’s not a wig. I’d know ;)”
He later gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the transformation on his own Instagram, writing, “Chop chop for Lori yesterday.”
Lori Loughlin’s Split From Mossimo Giannulli Turns Messy

The outing comes months after her split from Mossimo Giannulli, her husband of nearly 28 years. While the pair have not officially filed for divorce, they are reportedly living separate lives following the breakup. “Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages,” a source said.
Insiders say the fallout from the split is still ongoing behind the scenes. “Lori is still extremely angry with him,” a source shared, while another insider said Giannulli “thinks she’s a lovely person and an incredible mom” and “wants everything resolved quietly.”
They are “living separate lives and figuring out next steps,” the source added. “Divorce looks like it’s the future.”
College Admissions Scandal ‘Changed Everything’ For Loughlin And Giannulli’s Marriage

Loughlin and Giannulli’s split may trace back further than initially thought, with new reports pointing to the infamous college admissions scandal as a major turning point in their marriage. While earlier claims suggested tension began after Loughlin allegedly discovered “incriminating” messages on Giannulli’s phone, an insider says the damage was already done years earlier.
According to a source, the couple struggled to recover after being indicted for paying $500,000 to fixer Rick Singer in a scheme to present their daughters, Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli, as recruited rowers to gain admission into University of Southern California. “The school scandal was a turning point, and they never really connected or recovered their relationship after that,” the source shared.
“She felt that he got her involved. She didn’t fully blame him, but he spearheaded it,” the insider added, noting that Loughlin “never fully forgave him and never fully got over it, and they were never the same after.”
Lori Loughlin Celebrates ‘Incredible’ Return To ‘When Calls The Heart’ After Career Comeback

Loughlin is also making waves professionally, recently stepping back into the spotlight by reprising her role on “When Calls the Heart.” Speaking at Hallmark’s Christmas Experience in December 2025, the actress opened up about the emotional return and the support she received along the way.
“It feels amazing and my girl [Erin Krakow] here has been championing this for a long time,” Loughlin said. “When did I find out? Maybe like a month ago, two months ago, and I just want to thank everyone at Hallmark for being so loving and so welcoming … and this just feels incredible.”
She added, “I mean, you guys all know it, we have such a special cast, and such a special bond and it’s just so nice to be back with my family.”

Teariney Dixon Arrested After Trying To Saw Off Boyfriend’s Hair
A Florida relationship dispute over a television reportedly escalated into a violent domestic incident involving Teariney Dixon and her boyfriend in Tallahassee. What began as a heated argument over belongings and accusations of infidelity is now at the center of an attempted murder case. Now, investigators are detailing a chaotic scene inside the apartment.

Police Called After Heated Apartment Dispute
According to police records, officers responded on April 11 after Teariney Dizon’s boyfriend called authorities reporting that Dixon was damaging items inside his apartment during a dispute. When deputies arrived, they say they observed signs of a struggle throughout the residence, with the boyfriend telling them the argument had turned physical and that he ultimately left the home before later re-entering to regain access to his belongings.
Furthermore, as revealed in the affidavit, the boyfriend recorded the entire argument and alleged physical altercation on surveillance video inside his home and later showed it to officers. Police say the situation escalated after a verbal disagreement and Dixon’s refusal to leave, leading to a physical confrontation during which she allegedly punched him in the face before locking him out of his apartment.
Tension Over Items Leads To Physical Fight
The affidavit further states that the disagreement continued to escalate over personal property, including items both parties claimed ownership of, which led to a physical confrontation inside the apartment. Police allege Dixon made slashing motions toward her boyfriend with a knife, cutting his finger during the altercation. Authorities also claim that she grabbed him by the hair and attempted to cut his dreadlocks, before he removed her wig in response. Investigators added that the boyfriend was eventually able to disarm her and return the knife to the kitchen, bringing the confrontation to an end. Police also mentioned that “There was blood all over the apartment.“
Dixon Booked, Then Released As Case Continues
Furthermore, authorities say Dixon was later located at her residence. Marvel’s Most Overlooked Avengers Movie Is Quietly Taking Over U.S. Streaming
The Marvel stars will soon align for one of the biggest movies of the decade, with Avengers: Doomsday debuting in theaters on December 18. The first Avengers movie since Endgame broke countless records in 2019, the Russo Brothers are throwing everything at this long-awaited next installment, with the cast list reading like a who’s who of modern Hollywood. From Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, and Tom Hiddleston to Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, and Pedro Pascal, the cast of the upcoming blockbuster is nothing short of Marvel-ous.
As the clock ticks closer to Doomsday, people are already preparing by heading back into the MCU archive and reminding themselves of what has come before. This also means watching the most forgettable Avengers movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Released in 2015, the film was a big-budget direct sequel to the first Avengers outing, and left many underwhelmed. That being said, the film was still a fair hit with critics, earning a “certified fresh” 75% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus on the site reading, “Exuberant and eye-popping, Avengers: Age of Ultron serves as an overstuffed but mostly satisfying sequel, reuniting its predecessor’s unwieldy cast with a few new additions and a worthy foe.”
Unsurprisingly, the film was also a big box office hit, returning almost $1.4 billion against an eye-watering budget of $365 million. The 19th highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, there is a strong chance that the next Avengers movie will overtake its place in the ranks. Ahead of Doomsday, millions are flocking to the previous Avengers movies, and Age of Ultron is currently one of the ten most-streamed movies on Disney+ in the U.S.
Before ‘Doomsday,’ There’s Another Stop on the MCU Journey
This summer, there’s one more stop on the MCU journey to Doomsday, as Tom Holland suits up once again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Scheduled to debut on July 31, Brand New Day will feature Holland alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon returning as MJ and Ned, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Michael Mando back as Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone. Stranger Things favorite Sadie Sink is also joining the cast, although her identity is kept tightly under wraps.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently available to stream on Disney+. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for all the latest streaming stories.
