Joy-Anna Duggar‘s husband, Austin Forsyth, sent his brother-in-law Joseph Duggar a supportive letter following Joseph’s child molestation arrest.

“I want you to know that I love you,” Austin, 32, wrote in emails obtained by Us Weekly during Joseph’s stay in Arkansas’ Washington County Detention Center. “Jesus loves you, and continues to draw you closer to Him.”

Joseph, 31, was arrested on March 18 on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, molesting a victim under 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person over 18. He has pleaded not guilty.

A 14-year-old victim came forward to Arkansas police with allegations that Joseph, 31, molested her when she was 9 years old during a vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020.

Four additional counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree, and four counts of second degree false imprisonment were levied against Joseph and his wife, Kendra Duggar, over completely separate allegations in Arkansas.

In his email to Joseph, Austin insisted that he was not prepared to discuss the details of his brother-in-law’s legal case.

“I don’t want to discuss your issues over these communications. You need to only be talking to your attorney,” Austin wrote to Joseph. “Please know that God works despite the sin of man for his good.”

He continued, “I am praising God that we started getting closer to you guys within the last year and a half. He knew that Kendra was going to need help. We will, and are helping her!”

Austin’s wife, Joy-Anna, initially broke her silence about her brother’s arrest on March 26.

“What has come out about my brother is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “My heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused.”

Joy-Anna, 28, added, “I have been a wreck this week and am taking time to process … Thank you for your prayers.”

Austin is not the only member of the Duggar family to reach out to Joseph behind bars. Joseph has discussed his prison workout routine and potential legal strategies with his wife, Kendra, in multiple phone calls released in recent weeks.

Joseph also received supportive emails from his older brother Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar. Josh, 38, is currently serving a 151-month prison sentence for receiving and possessing child pornography in 2022. (Josh maintains his innocence.)

Joseph was extradited from the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas to Florida’s Bay County Jail on March 31 ahead of his upcoming trial.

Page, for his part, hasn’t been on Bridgerton since it premiered in 2020. Bridgerton, which is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, follows the members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. Season 1 focused on Daphne’s (Phoebe Dynevor) unexpected connection with Simon.

After the show premiered, viewers fell in love with Page and his character, which made his departure that much more shocking. Netflix announced in April 2021 that Page would not be reprising his role as the Duke of Hastings despite plans for Daphne to appear in future seasons.

Henry doubled down by pointing out that fans “need” Page back. “I’m gonna have to take your word for it,” he replied.

After Henry tried one last time to ask if viewers will “see” him again, Page thanked the reporter for the interview and swiftly moved onto the next journalist on the red carpet. The awkward red carpet moment came after Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell addressed concerns that Simon could return — with a different actor in the role.

“We are not interested in recasting the characters,” Brownell told Variety in February. “I think it would feel like a disservice to everything Regé and Phoebe [Dynevor] set up in season 1, and all the beautiful work they put into those characters.”

Brownell didn’t rule out an onscreen return for them.

“We would love to potentially have them back at some point, but I think, logistically, we want to make sure we bring them back when we have something really meaty for them,” she continued. “And to have them come back to say a line at a funeral [in season 4] and just prove that they were there, it wouldn’t feel right for many reasons.”

Emails she sent to her brother-in-law, Joseph Duggar, following his own legal troubles, revealed how she has been navigating the broader family situation.

In one message obtained by PEOPLE, she expressed support, writing, “You’ve got our prayers. We love you — however we can help, please let us know.” 

At the same time, she cautioned him about speaking freely, advising, “Just remember, don’t talk about anything legal unless you are with an attorney.”

Joseph was arrested in March 2026 in Arkansas, following an investigation by Florida regarding child molestation incidents that allegedly took place in 2020 during a family vacation in Florida. 

He was later extradited to Florida, where he pleaded not guilty to charges and was released on a $600,000 bond.

Meanwhile, Amy Duggar has spoken candidly about her cousin Josh Duggar, insisting he could not be “rehabilitated from such sick stuff” following his conviction.

As The Blast reported, Amy made it clear that she believed his behavior pointed to deeper issues, warning that he would “always have those sick urges” and expressing fear about his eventual release.  

She also criticized members of the Duggar family for remaining silent over the years, arguing that ignoring the situation only allowed the behavior to continue.
