For decades, HBO’s first scripted comedy series, 1990’s Dream On, has been an internet legend. The series was impossible to find anywhere. Not because of the nudity, or the swearing, but the copyrighted movie clips and music. That’s why fans were stunned when it turned up on The Roku Channel, and unlike the version that aired on Comedy Central, it’s the original, uncensored version that aired on HBO.

If you’ve never heard of Dream On, you probably know the show that its creators, Marta Kaufmann and David Crane, put together after the raunchy comedy came to an end. A small sitcom called Friends.  

Dream On Took Sitcoms In A Wild New Direction

Friends defined the traditional sitcom, and it would be easy to say that Dream On went the opposite direction and bucked convention, but it doesn’t. The show follows Martin Tupper (Brian Benben), a divorced book editor madly in love with his ex-wife, Judith (Wendy Malick). Martin’s misadventures, involving getting back into the dating pool, trying to co-parent his teenage son with Judith, and navigating a stifling work environment, are all standard sitcom tropes. Except for the constant movie and television clips. And the nudity. 

Dream On’s gimmick is that Martin was raised in front of the television to the point that his internal monologue comes out in old black-and-white clips. They range from the opening to “Trojan War” featuring a clip about love from Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone to Marilyn Monroe’s Some Like It Hot. During a single scene, there can be a dozen quick cutaways, sometimes showing Martin’s reactions, other times acting as his responses. It’s a gag that works, and the production team was creative with their choices, digging deep into Hollywood history to find unexpected clips. 

Saved From The Dustbin Of History

The plot of each episode doesn’t always revolve around sex, but most of them do. Martin’s dating life is the most unrealistic part of the series. Like Jerry Seinfeld, he has a series of girlfriends far out of his league, but unlike Jerry, he’s shown actually having sex (sometimes with diastrous results). No one on any other 90s sitcom had to face an ethical dilemma in which they discover a video of a popular children’s clown enjoying some adult time. That’s the plot of the Season 4 double-sized opener. 

HBO wasn’t yet a media juggernaut when Dream On debuted in 1990, and back then, “HBO Original Programming” was essentially documentaries. The risqué comedy series opened the door for the network’s late 90’s rise with Sex and the City and The Sopranos, and without the misadventures of Martin Tupper, Friends wouldn’t exist as it does today. 

Comedy Central aired the series in a heavily edited format, for both nudity and language, from 1996 through 1999, and then that was the last of Dream On. Quietly, the series arrived on The Roku Channel, but it was missing a few episodes. A few weeks later, and even those were ready for streaming, giving everyone complete access to the entire unedited, uncensored series for the first time in decades. 

Whew! Rolling Loud Orlando had the internet talking all weekend. Streamer Rakai is going viral after clips surfaced appearing to show the crowd booing him during his time onstage.

Rakai Facing Negative Crowd Reaction During Rolling Loud

On Saturday, May 9, a few viral videos circulating online appeared to show streamer Rakai being booed after taking the stage at Rolling Loud Festival in Orlando. In several clips shared on social media, people in the crowd could be heard chanting and booing as Rakai tried to hype the audience on the mic. At one point, some attendees also appeared to throw water bottles toward the stage.

At one point, seemingly shocked by the crowd’s antics, Rakai yelled, “Boo?” As the reaction continued, he eventually walked off the stage, saying, “Rolling Loud, thank y’all for having me.” It is still unclear why the streamer took the stage or whether he was scheduled to perform.

North West Receives Warm Reception During Surprise Appearance

Rakai wasn’t the only young personality to appear onstage during Rolling Loud Orlando. North West also made a surprise appearance during rapper Molly Santana’s set, receiving a noticeably different reaction from the crowd. North took the stage wearing her signature blue hair and an all-black outfit as she appeared to perform an unreleased track alongside Molly Santana. Videos shared online appeared to show the crowd enthusiastically reacting to the performance as fans recorded the moment on their phones.

Despite being a father to 12 children with six different women, Nick Cannon revealed that he did not spend the occasion with any of the mothers of his children. Instead, Cannon said his plans centered on honoring his own mother, in keeping with tradition.

Ahead of Mother’s Day over the past weekend, Cannon revealed that he would be spending the occasion with his own mother, Beth Gardner, and not with any of his children’s moms.

Although the comedian did not explain exactly why the International Day of Love can be challenging for him, the holiday may be more difficult to navigate because it carries more romantic expectations than Mother’s Day.

As for Father’s Day, Cannon claimed the day can become overwhelming because all 12 of his children naturally want to spend time celebrating with him at the same time.

The Actor Explained Why He Doesn’t Allow His Daughter To Date

At the time, he told TMZ’s podcast that he is “more protective” of his daughter because there are certain dangers he feels he needs to shield her from. He went on to suggest that his son might not call him if something troubling happened on a date, while he believes his daughter would.

Cannon added that the idea of his daughter being harmed is his “worst nightmare,” and said he would respond decisively in such a situation, even if it potentially led to legal consequences.

As the conversation continued, Cannon conceded that he would consider allowing his daughter to date if a chaperone, such as her brother, accompanied her.

However, he refused to specify the age at which she would be allowed to date independently, noting that he is already preparing for that possibility and having conversations with her about dating once she reaches college age.

Online, Cannon was quickly criticized for his approach, with many users describing it as “misogynistic” and a “double standard at its finest.”

Sunday, May 10, marked the annual Mother’s Day celebration across the globe, but the event was more of an outlet to vent pent-up frustration for Taylor. She took to her Instagram page on the fateful day, sharing five images of herself bonding with her three children.

Unlike the sweet pictures, the caption was filled with Taylor’s response to her co-star Mikayla Matthews from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” series. Although she did not mention the latter by name, Taylor’s words referenced Mikayla’s recent statements about her domestic violence drama with Dakota.

Taylor began by stating she had “friends” kicking her while she was down and “calling it ‘setting a boundary.’” She described Mikayla’s actions as “shaming” and attacking her when she finally had a moment to breathe amid the scandal. Taylor stressed that she had never labeled herself a “victim,” adding:

“But I’m HUMAN and have breaking points. What a snake friend just did to me in the public eye after everything she just witnessed…the lack of empathy and silence was loud enough.”

Taylor expressed disappointment and frustration at Mikayla’s response to her situation, wondering how she could judge her without knowing the full story. She went on to detail the alleged trauma she endured at her ex’s hands, asking if Mikayla had put herself in her shoes.

“Have you been hurt while pregnant? Have you been beaten right after giving birth? Have you lost two babies due to who knows what? Have you gone to jail for finally breaking and taking the only blame for years?” Taylor wrote. She noted Mikayla could not understand her suffering and slammed her for taking Dakota’s side.

According to Taylor, Mikayla was more concerned about whether Taylor made more than her while filming “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” She also bashed Mikayla for her “concern for children act,” arguing that everyone knew she was good to her children and did everything within her power to cater to their needs.

She acknowledged that she was spiraling, adding that she had every right to since people were calling her out, thinking she wouldn’t respond. “Exactly what I will NOT be tolerating ever again,” Taylor declared.

The entertainer’s post garnered supportive comments from fans and celebrities alike, who assured Taylor they were on her side. The list included “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Jessi Draper, who penned her love for Taylor and her understanding of the latter’s situation.

“I’m so sorry, and you’ll be back stronger and happier than ever,” Jessi wrote. Media personality Hera Sfikas sympathized with Taylor, assuring the mother of three that she deserved better from her inner circle. Fans echoed similar sentiments, imploring Taylor not to let her friends or critics silence her.

The drama began when Mikayla posted a series of comments about Taylor’s situation underneath a fan account. The post, per PEOPLE, had noted that real friends don’t abandon each other during difficult times. Although Mikayla wasn’t mentioned by name, she was seemingly offended.

Mikayla Matthews Sets Boundaries In Fiery Response

When fans called Mikayla out for commenting on the post after several weeks had passed, she replied that she was “fed up.” Days later, she further expressed her frustration in a lengthy statement on her Instagram Stories, noting she was setting “healthy” boundaries in her friendships.

“I was there after [Taylor’s] swinging rock bottom, I was there after the [2023] arrest rock bottom,” Mikayla claimed, per US Weekly. She added that despite her support, “the behaviors and patterns continued” until she realized she could no longer “save someone who is unwilling to participate in their own rescue.”

Mikayla stressed that “having a moral compass and boundaries” did not make her a “bad or jealous” friend. She added that she wasn’t taking sides because it was not her job “to enable poor or dangerous behavior from either party, especially when children are involved.”

Kevin Hart expected jokes at his Netflix roast, but even he seemed stunned when longtime friend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson repeatedly dragged Eniko Hart into the chaos. 

The packed crowd at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum watched the wrestler-turned-actor unload a string of wild jokes about Kevin’s marriage, height, and past scandals, with Tom Brady eventually joining the pile-on. 

By the end of the night, the roast had turned into an uncomfortable reunion of old controversies and NSFW punchlines.

The Rock wasted no time targeting Kevin Hart during Netflix’s “The Roast of Kevin Hart” on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Standing before a packed crowd, The Rock first turned his attention toward the women seated on the dais before abruptly steering the conversation toward Kevin’s wife, Eniko.

“I want to just take a moment to give a shout out to all the ladies up here on this dais,” the actor said per the Daily Mail, adding, “You all look beautiful, magnificent, sexy. You know who else looks sexy? Kevin’s wife, Eniko.”

The audience erupted as The Rock kept escalating the jokes. He then claimed Eniko “deserves an Academy Award for pretending she likes to f-ck” Kevin.

The “Night School” actor immediately reacted with a shocked, “What the f-ck” while The Rock defended himself by saying, “I’m just giving her compliments!”

The “Jumanji” star continued teasing his longtime friend while joking with Eniko directly. “Open up a bottle of tequila and, you know – stop squirming, Kevin!” The Rock stated.

Kevin Roast Quickly Spiraled Into NSFW Territory

The Rock did not stop after the first round of jokes. Instead, he doubled down with increasingly outrageous comments aimed at Kevin Hart’s appearance and marriage.

At one point, he compared the comedian to a sex toy while mocking his size. “He’s the same size and color as their favorite d****, and the little motherf-cker is twice as loud,” The Rock joked.

Chelsea Handler joined the chaos by asking, “Don’t you think it’s time for Eniko to be with somebody that is bigger than her?”

The wrestler immediately answered, “Yes, I do,” before launching into another crude jab. The Rock later joked, “Just last week, I got a Kevin Hart tattoo on my c***. Yeah, life size too… Eniko, I’ll show you later. Kidding. She’s already seen it!”

Even within roast standards, Kevin Hart appeared genuinely irritated at certain moments.

“Why would you say that about my f-cking wife? I want to talk to you later,” the comedian fired back.

However, The Rock quickly reminded him the event had no boundaries, noting, “You’re the one who said, ‘Hey, listen, f-cking say anything you want!’”

Earlier in the night, the 54-year-old also mocked their movie collaborations, including “Central Intelligence” and “Jumanji: The Next Level.”

“Now, I know what you’re all assuming is that I’m here to carry another s**** Kevin Hart vehicle, but for once, that’s not the case,” he joked.

Kevin Hart’s Past Marriage Scandal Became Roast Material Again

The roast took another dramatic turn when Tom Brady unexpectedly appeared and revived Kevin’s old cheating scandal.

The NFL legend used the actor’s own past roast jokes against him after the comedian mocked Brady’s divorce during a 2024 event.

Back then, Kevin joked about Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bündchen dating martial arts instructor Joaquim Valente. 

“You know who also f–cking their coach?” Kevin said in 2024, addinh “Gisele, she f-cking her karate coach – Tom, how did you not see this coming? Eight karate classes a day?”

Brady clearly remembered the joke. Appearing onstage Sunday, the former quarterback handed Kevin a tiny New York Knicks jersey before calling him a “f-cking hobbit.”

Then came another reference to the “Ride Along” star’s marriage troubles. “I’m a busy man, but I do have a few words for you before I return to my affairs in Las Vegas,” Brady joked.

He paused before adding, “Oh, wait, I’m talking about affairs in Las Vegas. Was that off?” Brady continued piling on by telling Eniko, “What’s up,” while joking, “I’m too classy to go after your beautiful wife – or am I?”

The crowd exploded as Kevin sat through another uncomfortable reminder of the scandal that nearly destroyed his marriage years earlier.

Kevin Previously Admitted To Drug Use Before Affair

The jokes about Las Vegas stemmed from Kevin Hart’s highly publicized 2017 cheating scandal involving Montia Sabbag.

During a 2024 deposition connected to an FBI extortion investigation, Kevin admitted he had used MDMA before the incident unfolded.

According to court documents reviewed by Page Six, he told investigators a friend pressured him into trying the drug. “No, I don’t really f-ck with drugs like that,” Kevin initially said he responded.

Eventually, he gave in. “F-ck it,” he recalled. “I said, and I put it in my drink. I had some water there. It was watered down. Because it’s in my drink, I’m fine. I’m fine with drinking. The night is good.”

Later that evening, Kevin encountered Sabbag while Eniko was pregnant with their child. The comedian testified that he, Sabbag, and another woman, Morgan, later went to his hotel suite before Morgan allegedly left.

Kevin  stated in court filings that he “did not have sex with” Sabbag the first night but admitted he “had sex with her the following morning.”

The comedian also alleged Sabbag appeared to maneuver them closer to a hidden camera secretly recording the encounter.

Kevin Hart Claimed Hidden Camera Was Part Of Extortion Plot

The fallout from the Las Vegas incident eventually sparked a federal extortion investigation that followed Kevin for years.

During his deposition, the 46-year-old claimed he believed the hidden camera had already been planted inside the room before he arrived.

He alleged Sabbag intentionally moved them closer to the device while they were together to use the video for an extortion scheme.

Kevin also said he never saw Sabbag leave the bed during the encounter and believed the recording setup had been carefully planned in advance.

The scandal exploded publicly in 2017, forcing Hart to issue a public apology to his wife and family.

Lucky follows a reformed criminal (Anya Taylor-Joy) who is forced to confront her past and return to illicit activities for one final job with the hopes of securing her freedom and leaving behind her former life once and for all. Lucky will consist of seven episodes, and with Apple TV dropping the first two at once on July 15, this means the show will conclude on August 19, barely a month after its debut. The future of Lucky beyond Season 1 has yet to be decided, but with stars like Anya Taylor-Joy and Timothy Olyphant involved, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it return for a second season.

Katt Williams was not afraid to go there during Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart.

Williams, 54, cracked a joke about comedian and actor Kevin Hart attending Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ parties during the live comedy special in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 10.

“Just because Kevin went to Diddy parties does not mean he did something wrong,” Williams quipped, adding, “The fact he gets all quiet when you bring it up … that means he did something wrong.”

During his trial, which began in May 2025 and concluded in July, several witnesses testified about attending sexual parties dubbed “freak offs,” including the star’s former girlfriend, Cassie.

Cassie, 39, claimed on the stand that baby oil was frequently used at these parties, recalling one instance of a kiddie “pool filled with baby oil” during an alleged event in Beverly Hills.

“If Sean wanted it to happen, that was what was going to happen. There was no way around it,” she claimed. “We used 10 bottles of baby oil, regular size.”

Cassie claimed that all attendees at these parties, including herself, would lather themselves in the baby oil.

“Sean wanted it heated, and he wanted it to be glistening, so we applied every five minutes,” she alleged.

Cassie further claimed that Astroglide lubricant and condoms were readily available at the events and that the baby oil would often get on the walls and door handles of hotel rooms used. She alleged that blood and urine were sometimes present on bedsheets at “freak offs” because Diddy, 56, directed escorts to urinate on her and she was “expected” to participate even when menstruating.

During Sunday’s roast, Williams also addressed his past criticism of Hart, whom he once accused of being an industry plant.
