Rebel Wilson ‘Used PR Team’ To Smear Co-Star

Published

on

Rebel Wilson on the red carpet

Rebel Wilson’s legal showdown with Charlotte MacInnes is off to a fiery start.

The case is unfolding at the Federal Court in Sydney, and centers on claims Wilson made about her “The Deb” co-star, including allegations that producer Amanda Ghost had sexually harassed MacInnes.

Front and center in the opening arguments was the accusation that Wilson also worked to push her claims into the public domain. MacInnes’ legal team alleged the actress used PR channels to circulate and reinforce damaging narratives.

Rebel Wilson was poised to make her directorial debut with the film “The Deb.” However, the moment has been overshadowed by mounting legal trouble.

The “Pitch Perfect” star appeared in court on Monday, April 20, as proceedings officially began in the defamation lawsuit filed by her co-star. Wilson was originally labeled a “bully” by the opposing side. However, MacInnes’ lawyers have followed up with the even more explosive claim that she allegedly engaged a crisis PR effort to push damaging narratives beyond the set.

Wilson is being accused of hiring publicist Melissa Nathan of The Agency Group to orchestrate a smear campaign targeting producer Ghost, as Deadline reported.

Wilson’s issues with MacInnes date back to when the younger actress raised concerns about an interaction she had with producer Ghost.

The incident in question allegedly took place in 2023 following an outing at Bondi Beach, where MacInnes and Ghost were said to have shared a bath in their swimsuits.

Wilson later claimed on Instagram that MacInnes initially expressed discomfort over the situation, but then reversed her stance. The “Pitch Perfect” star went further, suggesting her co-star had changed her account after receiving professional opportunities from the producer.

“The fact that this girl has been employed now by this ‘producer’ in the lead role of a production called GATSBY (ART Boston) and given a record label, should be all the proof you need as to why she has now changed her story,” Wilson wrote in a 2024 post.

According to a report on ABC News Australia, MacInnes pushed back hard against Wilson’s version of events in court, with her legal team arguing that the actress’s claims have caused serious reputational harm.

Representing MacInnes, Sue Chrysanthou SC disputed Wilson’s account, telling the court that the younger actress only went home with Ghost after suffering a medical episode while swimming and needing assistance to run a hot bath.

Chrysanthou argued that Wilson’s public allegations painted a deeply damaging narrative, one that went far beyond a private disagreement and into reputational territory that could impact MacInnes’ career.

She further alleged that the “Pitch Perfect” star attempted to reinforce that narrative by contacting third parties to publish anonymous claims that reflected negatively on her client.

Wilson’s legal team has hit back at MacInnes’ allegations, arguing that the actress’s concerns about the situation were still valid regardless of how events unfolded.

Wilson’s attorney, David Sibtain SC, told the court that even if Ghost had experienced a medical episode, it would not negate the possibility that MacInnes felt uncomfortable in the moment.

He went on to frame the case around Wilson’s understanding of events rather than the specifics of what actually occurred inside the Bondi apartment, emphasizing that the key question is whether she believed misconduct had taken place and acted accordingly.

According to Sibtain, the focus should not be on proving sexual misconduct, but on whether Wilson was acting on information she had been given when she raised concerns about the producer.

The Lawyer Said Her Accuser Had ‘Incentives’ To Change Story

Wilson’s defense team also doubled down on the claim that MacInnes later shifted her account of the alleged incident, arguing there were clear motivations behind that change.

In court, Sibtain pointed to the influence and industry standing, suggesting that MacInnes may have felt pressure to revise her position.

“It’s Ms. Wilson’s position that she changed her story because Ms. Ghost was a powerful person who expressed a very early interest professionally in Ms. MacInnes,” he said. “She had the power to make her dreams come true.”

Sibtain further pushed back against claims that Wilson’s statements caused lasting harm, rejecting the idea that MacInnes’ career had been derailed.

Alan Osmond’s Son David Pays Tribute, Talks About Having MS

Published

on

Alan Osmond’s son, American Idol alum David Osmond, is remembering his late father and reflecting on their shared multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

“Last night, my dad passed away. To be honest… I’m still trying to process it,” David, 46, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, April 21, alongside multiple photos of him and Alan, who died on Monday, April 20, at age 76.

“It’s hard to put into words what a life like his really means. He wasn’t just my father. He was an immense example of strength, of kindness, of how to treat people, and how to show up when it matters most,” David, who competed on season 8 of American Idol, added.

Alan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987 and lived with his symptoms for nearly four decades. David, one of the singer’s eight children with wife Suzanne Pinegar, was diagnosed with the same disease in 2005.

Donny and Marie Osmond are paying tribute to their brother Alan Osmond following his death at the age of 76. “This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me. Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me,” Donny, 68, wrote via […]

“He was my buddy, and I shared so much in common with him. The love of music, yes, but strangely, we even shared the same diagnosis of MS,” David wrote. “We knew each other’s frustrations in that without even saying a word. Just a long hug, and we understood each other in a rare and beautifully unique way. Having a dad who led by example through the battle with resilience and determination, never EVER giving up, and encouraging me to do the same, was such a gift.”

“He’s larger than life in my heart and mind. His creativity, his faith, his ability to lead and inspire. There are so many things I’ll miss. The conversations, the laughter, the simple moments that didn’t feel big at the time but now mean everything,” David continued. “What I’m realizing is that the greatest gift he gave me wasn’t just in what he said or did, but in who he was. I feel him in every step that I take. And that’s something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”

“My heart is broken, but it’s also full of immense gratitude. Grief for the tragic loss of his physical presence, but joy in the knowledge that he is now free,” he concluded. “I love you, Daddy-O! Thank you for everything.”

Alan was the eldest member of the pop group The Osmonds, which also featured his brothers Wayne, who died in January 2025 at age 73, Merrill, 72, Jay, 71, Donny, 68, and Jimmy, 63. His sister, Marie Osmond, also found fame as a singer and actress.

The Lord of the Rings Officially Returns This Year

Published

on

lord-of-the-rings-the-rings-of-power-season-2-poster-showing-charlie-vickers-as-sauron.jpg

It’s a great time to be a fan of The Lord of the Rings franchise, with multiple new projects in development that are moving fast. After years of updates, the full cast for the next Lord of the Rings movie, titled The Hunt for Gollum, was finally released last week. This was a double-edged sword, though. While it was exciting to see who was going to usher in the next journey to Middle-earth on the big screen, fans were devastated to learn that Aragorn had been recast with Jamie Dornan, confirming that the beloved Viggo Mortensen would not star in the film. It’s unclear why at this time, but that information will certainly come out before the film makes its worldwide premiere next year on December 17.

It’s also been revealed that Tolkien head Stephen Colbert is writing the script for a new Lord of the Rings movie, but the project is still in the early stages of development. It has been confirmed, however, that it will be set after the passing of Frodo Baggins (played by Elijah Wood) and follow Sam, Merry, and Pippin as they set out on a new adventure. In addition to these new Lord of the Rings movies, there’s also the Lord of the Rings TV series at Prime Video, The Rings of Power, which has already released two full seasons. In other events, news broke this morning that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 will premiere before the end of this year, despite speculation that the show would not return until 2027. Prime Video has yet to assign the film an official release date, and the studio has also not released a trailer yet.

Gollum

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.

You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.

Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

‘Andor’ Star Tries to Rescue FIFA World Cup in Jaw-Dropping True Story First Netflix Trailer

Published

on

image002.png

Not every sports movie needs to be about what happens on the field, and México 86 looks like it knows that from the jump. Netflix’s new film is taking one of the biggest football events in history and pulling the camera back to the frantic, political, behind-the-scenes scramble that made it happen at all. That already gives it a fresh angle, but throwing Diego Luna into the middle of the chaos makes it even easier to clock why this one stands out. The first trailer leans into audacity, pressure, and the kind of national-level bluffing that sounds almost too wild to be real. Except, of course, it is.

Netflix has released the first trailer for México 86, a 2026 film centered on the incredible true story behind Mexico landing the 1986 World Cup. The official setup follows a cunning Mexican bureaucrat who, after a last-minute hosting opportunity appears, cons his way through FIFA in an attempt to beat the United States and bring the tournament to Mexico for a historic second time. Netflix’s own description frames it as an against-all-odds feat driven by “audacity, madness, and pure Mexican ingenuity,” while early materials pitch the film as a mix of politics, satire, and sports-world chaos.

Directed by Gabriel Ripstein and written by Daniel Krauze and Ripstein, the film stars Diego Luna, Karla Souza, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Álvaro Guerrero, Memo Villegas, and Juan Pablo Fernández.

Four worlds. All of them brutal, complicated, and built on power, loyalty, and the price of survival. Taylor Sheridan doesn’t write heroes — he writes people who do what they have to do and live with the cost. Ten questions will reveal which one of his worlds you were made for.

01

Where does your power come from?
In Sheridan’s world, everyone has leverage. The question is what kind.

02

Who do you put first, no matter what?
Loyalty in Sheridan’s universe is always absolute — and always costly.

03

Someone crosses a line. How do you respond?
Every Sheridan protagonist has a line. What matters is what happens after it’s crossed.

04

Where do you feel most in your element?
Sheridan’s worlds are as much about place as they are about people.

05

How do you feel about operating in the grey?
Nobody in a Sheridan show has clean hands. The question is how they carry the dirt.

06

What are you actually fighting to hold onto?
Every Sheridan character is fighting a war. The real question is what they’re defending.

07

How do you lead?
Authority in Sheridan’s world is never given — it’s established, maintained, and constantly tested.

Someone new arrives and tries to change how things work. Your reaction?
Every Sheridan show has an outsider disrupting an established order. Sometimes that outsider is you.

Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.

You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.

You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.

What Happened in Mexico 86?

Well, on the pitch, it was one of the most iconic World Cups ever held. Argentina won the trophy following one of the most controversial and unforgettable tournaments in football history, with Diego Maradona delivering both the infamous “Hand of God” goal and the stunning solo run later dubbed the “Goal of the Century” against England. Argentina eventually beat West Germany 3-2 in the final, sealing Maradona’s reputation as one of the greatest players to ever play the game, and securing him iconic status in his home country matched these days only by Lionel Messi.

John Cena’s ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Finally Releases First Trailer After Being Saved From Cancellation

Published

on

01624092_poster_w780.jpg

In 2023, it was condemned to the vaults, never to be seen. Now, three years later, it’s headed to theaters. The first trailer for Coyote vs. Acme is out now, and it promises to give the long-suffering Coyote his day in court. Court is in session, courtesy of Ketchup Entertainment, starting on August 28.

As the trailer opens, Wile E. Coyote is once more stymied in his endless pursuit of the Road Runner by a faulty piece of equipment from the Acme Corporation. When he sees an ad for Kevin Avery (Will Forte), a lawyer who’s successfully pursued class-action lawsuits against Acme before, the Coyote decides to take his battle outside the endless canyons of the American Southwest and into the courtroom. There, Avery represents him against slick Acme flack Buddy Crane (John Cena); and while Avery typically settles with Acme for chump change, his niece Paige (Lana Condor) convinces him that this time, he can make a difference. The Coyote won’t be the only animated icon called to the stand; the trailer teases appearances from Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, and many more. Bugs Bunny turns up at the end as a Deep Throat-like informant. Will his help turn the trial in Coyote’s favor? What are the dark secrets of the Acme Corporation? And will the Coyote finally catch the Road Runner? You’ll have to hit the multiplex this summer to find out.

Staying alive is one thing. Having a reason to is another.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

How Did ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Escape Warner Bros?

As part of a wave of cost-cutting at Warner Bros, the nearly complete Coyote vs. Acme was shelved. There was an outpouring of outrage from those involved in the film and those who had seen it, and unlike fellow tax write-off Batgirl, WB put Coyote vs. Acme up for sale. When no studio was willing to meet WB’s price, it looked like Coyote vs. Acme might never see the light of day. However, it and fellow Looney Tunes film The Day the Earth Blew Up were acquired by Ketchup Entertainment; the latter was released in 2024, and Coyote vs. Acme will finally hit theaters this summer.

Coyote vs. Acme is directed by Dave Green (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows), from a script by Samy Burch (May December), and a story by Burch, Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight), and James Gunn (Superman). It is based on the comedy article of the same name by Ian Frazier, which ran in the New Yorker in 1990.

Coyote vs. Acme will be released in theaters on August 28, 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

Tina Fey Pushes Back On ‘SNL’ Agenda Claims

Tina Fey Had One Condition When Agreeing To Reprise 'Mean Girls' Role

Tina Fey is taking a more reflective look at her time on “Saturday Night Live,” admitting that not every joke she helped put on air aged the way she’d hoped. Speaking at the 2026 edition of “History Talks,” the comedian acknowledged she was “on the wrong side” of certain moments during her tenure.

Despite that admission, Fey pushed back on the idea that “SNL” ever tried to steer a specific political narrative, insisting the show’s impact has always come from reflecting culture rather than controlling it.

Fey is taking a candid look back at her early comedy career, admitting that not every joke she made on “Saturday Night Live” aged the way she intended. Before stepping in to host the first episode of “SNL UK” last month, she had already spent years as both a writer and performer on the show’s flagship U.S. version.

Speaking at a recent  HistoryTalks event, Fey revisited defining moments from that era, including returning to the show in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

While the comedian said she has no regrets about the time she dedicated to the long-running NBC series, she acknowledged that some of her material missed the mark.

“I was pretty d-mb and not much better now, but there’s jokes that I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, I was on the wrong side of that,’” Fey said.

Fey Says ‘SNL’ Never Tried To Control Politics

Fey has also pushed back on the idea that “Saturday Night Live” ever set out to shape political narratives, insisting the show’s approach was far more measured behind the scenes.

Speaking at the event, Fey said she often found it fascinating to realize just how seriously audiences could take what was meant to be comedy. That awareness, she explained, became especially clear during a particularly intense six-week stretch when she worked alongside Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler on a run of sketches centered on Sarah Palin.

“We always worked really hard to make sure that we felt like they were what we would call ‘a fair hit,’” Fey said, describing the team’s effort to strike a balance between satire and accuracy.

Fey brought her signature wit to the UK stage last month, delivering a monologue on the British version of “Saturday Night Live” that leaned into the same self-aware humor that defined her rise in the U.S.

In her opening, Fey expressed genuine gratitude for the opportunity before joking that she was the “youngest person” ever to host the series.

She then playfully reintroduced herself to the audience, saying, “You may know me as the teacher from ‘Mean Girls,’ or you might remember a long time ago when I played Sarah Palin on ‘SNL U.S.,’ Or maybe you feel like you recognize me as the lady from the show ‘Veep.’ And that’s fine too! Let’s go with that!”

The Actress Dropped F-Bomb During ‘SNL UK’ Debut

From that moment on, the show delivered a more classic Fey, including a sarcastic remark about how “no one really knows why” an American was chosen to host the debut episode.

When “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan asked her why she thinks she was chosen, the “Veep” alum responded, “How do I put this politely?… None of you f-ckers would do it!”

The uncensored moment didn’t go unnoticed. Actor Michael Cera pointed out that she had just dropped the f-word, but Fey brushed it off without hesitation.

“Yeah, we are allowed to swear in this version of the show,” she fired back, pointing to the main difference between the U.S. and UK versions of “SNL.”

Fey isn’t slowing down anytime soon, with several projects already lined up for the months ahead.

Later this year, the comedian will return to the small screen for Season 2 of “The Four Seasons,” reprising her role as Kate alongside a returning ensemble that includes Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Erika Henningsen.

Beyond that, Fey is also stepping back into development mode. In March, PEOPLE reported that she would be adapting Elle Cosimano’s bestselling mystery novel “Finlay Donovan Is Killing It,” marking another collaboration with Lang Fisher, her creative partner on “The Four Seasons.”

Why Angel Reese Says Men Feud With Independent Women

Angel Reese

Angel Reese carved her own path, and she doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. During her appearance on Michelle Obama‘s “IMO” podcast, the WNBA superstar got candid about relationships. Speaking with the former First Lady of the United States, Reese explained why she believes some men may struggle being with a woman who “has her own.”

Angel Reese And Michelle Obama Discuss Being Powerhouse Women In A Male Dominated World

While discussing dating, Reese told Michelle and her co-host, Craig Robinson, that she doesn’t believe some can handle being in relationships with women who are as successful, if not more successful than they are.

“I think a lot of men are not able to,” she said, adding, “I think it’s hard. I think it takes a strong man to be able to be open to a woman who has her own, works on her own, does her own things, and doesn’t necessarily need you.”

Michelle, who authored the best-selling memoir “Becoming,” emphasized Reese’s point before adding that successful women can’t cater to their partners as past generations did.

“You’ve got your own pathway, and it is a difficult thing,” Michelle said, adding that her husband, Barack, had to be OK with who she was before they tied the knot.

Indeed, Reese has her own. According to a previous report by The Blast, the former Chicago Sky star earned over $9 million in 2025, making her the highest-paid Black woman in professional basketball.

Reese’s growing bank account is thanks to her brand deals with Beats by Dre, Reebok, and Reese’s. In the past, the 23-year-old opened up about being blessed with “financial freedom.”

However, managing millions hasn’t always been easy for the LSU alum. “I got money so fast I didn’t know what to do with it,” she said. “I was like, ‘Oh sh-t, I’m a millionaire at 20?’ They do not teach you how to file taxes at school.”

Reese is fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive crew, including her mom, Angel, her grandmother, and her brother, Washington Wizards player Julian Reese.

Reese added, “My grandmother would tell me to save money for a rainy day, but really, I’m the first in my family to have this kind of financial freedom.”

Michelle Obama Praises Angel Reese During Vulnerable Conversation On Podcast

At the beginning of the podcast episode, Michelle spoke highly of Reese, who not only began her third season with the Atlanta Dream but also became the first WNBA player to star in a Victoria’s Secret campaign, praising her for what she’s accomplished both on and off the court.

“You are handling yourself beautifully,” Michelle said. “It’s not just what you do, it’s the way you carry yourself.” Michelle added, “It is really a joy to watch you manage it all, and you do it with a smile on your face, with an excellent attitude.”

In addition to securing new teammates, Reese (and every other WNBA player) is seeing a significant pay raise. Last year, Reese earned just shy of $75,000. This year, she’ll bring in over $350,000, according to SportRac.

The new WNBA season will begin in early May 2026, and Reese is already looking forward to getting her roots planted in the Peach State.

“It’s literally a dream come true,” Reese said. “I’m really grateful to be part of an organization that, one, really cares about their players as you can tell.”

“I’m just really grateful for everything,” she continued. “I’m soaking it all up. I know the people will come out and support us. The culture here is phenomenal.”

For those who may be unfamiliar, Reese signed with Chicago in 2024; however, she recently revealed that she wanted out of the Windy City to play for a team with which she was more aligned.

“I enjoyed being able to grow within my first two years, but I wanted more. I love to win, I love to compete and I wanted to be surrounded by people that can make me better,” Reese said.
