Norwegian runner Ida Amelie Robsahm has died after falling “several dozen meters” during a treacherous hike on Saturday, September 19. She was 30. 

Robsahm was hiking with a group near the summit of Romsdalseggen, one of Norway’s most difficult hikes, according to the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK). After police were called, Robsahm’s body was recovered by a rescue helicopter, but attempts to save her life were unsuccessful. 

“In the midst of the deep sorrow over the loss of Ida, we would like to extend a warm thank you to the running community,” Robsahm’s family said in a statement to NRK. “Ida was a big part of the community, and all the care and consideration in this cruel situation means a lot.”

Robsahm’s coach, Sindre Buraas, received the news of her death while doing commentary on NRK for the World Street Running Championships.

“It came as a shock,” he told the outlet. “You can’t deal with it right away. She was in a place in a terrain and an environment where she had been so much, so comfortable. She was torn away from us and from her life. It leaves deep traces. It is bottomlessly sad in every way.”

In addition to being “a fantastic athlete,” Buraas called the late Robsahm “a person with a big heart for the people around her.”

Robsahm placed second at the Marathon du Mont-Blanc in June 2025, before finishing fourth at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in September later that year. 

She had recently been competing semi-professionally with ASICS Trail, who mourned her loss on Sunday, September 20. 

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic passing of Ida Amelie Robsahm,” the organization shared via Instagram. “Ida was a remarkable athlete and teammate. Her warmth and kindhearted nature touched many of us at ASICS and the running community. Our hearts are with Ida’s family, friends, teammates and all who knew and loved her. She will be missed dearly.”

Members of the running community offered their memories and condolences in the comments section.

Legendary former tight end Rob Gronkowski joined the Aaron Rodgers pile-on this week, \criticizing the quarterback’s performance on the field in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 20-3 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, September 20.

“Aaron Rodgers is probably thinking that he should have retired last year,” Gronkowski, 37, told former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman on Fox Sports’ “The Gronk & Jules Show” the next day. “After watching the first two weeks, I’m saying that’s what he was probably thinking. He may be thinking that if it continues the way it continues for the Steelers. I mean, there’s just no juice on that offensive side of the ball.”

Rodgers, 42, threw for 187 yards in the loss with no touchdowns and an interception. Gronkowski pointed out that Rodgers and Steelers coach Mike McCarthy have worked together for more than 150 games, dating back to McCarthy’s time coaching the Green Bay Packers. In that time, there were only two games in which Rodgers did not throw for a touchdown.

“Already, two weeks into the season, Aaron Rodgers had one touchdown pass in Week 1 and zero touchdown passes in Week 2,” Gronkowski said.

She then revealed why Rande had selected three separate pieces rather than one traditional anniversary ring. “One [eternity ring] was to represent him, one was to represent Kaia, and one was to represent Presley [Gerber],” Crawford explained.

The eternity ring was not the only way Crawford demonstrated the importance of her relationship with Presley. In July, she marked his 27th birthday by sharing photographs of him as a child. “I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy!” Crawford wrote.

She also publicly supported Presley when he shared details about undergoing ibogaine treatment in Mexico earlier this year. “You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!” she wrote in response to his candid post.

Presley had described feeling “absolutely terrified” before undergoing the controversial treatment, which he pursued as part of his effort to address his addiction.

Crawford and Rande later attended Presley’s final public appearance at a mental health-focused event in Malibu in June. There, he spoke about the freedom he found by becoming honest about his struggles. “The most free I felt was when I was finally honest with myself,” Presley told the audience.

Presley died at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California, on September 20. Santa Monica Police said officers responded to a report of a possible overdose and found him dead at the facility. Responding paramedics pronounced him dead at 9:45 a.m.

Police are investigating the death as a suspected overdose, but Presley’s official cause of death has not been determined.
