Though he’s usually joined by other heroic figures, too. And the person or people he’s fighting are always awful villains. They are terrible people who do terrible things, one even from Reacher’s past that he becomes hellbent on taking down for good to settle old scores.

There are plenty more villains that Reacher will come face to face in the upcoming fifth season, potentially more. Because, of course, trouble always finds him. But so far in the four seasons to date, he has met some truly terrifying, evil people that will be tough to top.

Trevor Saropian

In Season 2 of the masterpiece Prime Video show Reacher, the case is personal because Reacher learns that one of his former U.S. Army unit members has been killed. As he investigates with his reunited old team, they discover a conspiracy involving stolen military missiles. It all leads back to a man named Shane Langston (Robert Patrick), who has been conspiring with a terrorist broker named A.M. (Ferdinand Kingsley) to sell these weapons.

Where does Trevor Saropian (Joris Jarsky) come in? He’s a basic street criminal who Langston hires to take out Reacher’s team members if they get in the way. He started to follow Reacher and Neagley (Maria Sten), but little did he know that he messed with the two wrong team members. He was eventually caught and Reacher drowned him in wet cement, then buried him under the building’s foundation. By comparison to other villains Reacher has faced, Saropian was pretty small time. But he orchestrated much of the horror that occurred throughout the season, even if it was on someone else’s command.

Zachary Beck

Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) was one of the most layered villains. While he was clearly a bad guy who did bad things, he’s also the only one who got a redemption arc. A widowed businessman dealing in rugs, as it turns out, he was actually dealing in weapons. But he got in over his head and couldn’t really get out. He initially came across as cruel and ruthless, even towards his son Richard (Johnny Berchtold). But later, it was evident that Beck had regrets and realized his actions would eventually lead to his death. Sadly, he no longer had a choice because the person he was working with was incredibly dangerous.

Beck’s final moments, trying to save his son with the very toy gun that Richard bought him for his birthday, made him a redeemed hero. But more so than that moment was the heartfelt conversation he had with Richard, apologizing for being a bad father and explaining his motivations: He didn’t think Richard would mourn his inevitable death so much if he hated him. He could not bear to think that Richard would grieve like he did for his mother, so he purposely treated him badly in hopes this would soften the blow. Beck is one of the only villains Reacher isn’t responsible for killing, and someone he might even have saved or at least let live if he had the chance.

KJ Kliner

The big twist in Season 1 of Reacher, one of the best Prime Video thriller shows, is revealed in the end with KJ Kliner (Chris Webster), the son of Mr. Kliner (Currie Graham) showing himself as the real person behind everything going on, including Reacher’s brother’s murder. Suffering from mental health issues and having spent time in a mental hospital as a child, KJ began to work with his father’s counterfeiting organization. But he was clearly dangerous and unhinged, and his meeting with Reacher proves this.

We learn that he not only killed Reacher’s brother Joe (portrayed by Christopher Russell as an adult in flashbacks) when he started to investigate his father’s empire, he also killed his own father. Reacher hadn’t really considered KJ to be as big a threat as he was up to this point, so his reveal as the primary antagonist was the shocking moment of the finale. A massive warehouse fight ensues, and Reacher manages to kick KJ into a burning barrel where he burns in a torturous death. He’s one of the most horrifying villains because he had no real motivation but psychopathic tendencies. Killing him, however, was also one of the most important deaths since it allowed Reacher to avenge his brother’s murder.

Shane Langston

Robert Patrick is a pro at playing villains, and he does it again in Reacher. This time, he’s a former detective who now works security for New Age Technologies. But he’s corrupt and plots to steal missiles to sell them to foreign terrorists. When he learns that some of his men have been conspiring against him, he has them tortured and killed, which is the first sign that he is not someone to mess with and lacks any human decency or respect for life. He is the one who orders the investigation into the members of Reacher’s old army unit, fearing that Calvin Franz (Luke Bilyk) may have told his old comrades something before he was killed.

Langston’s run-ins with Reacher suggest that he’s one of the smartest adversaries Reacher has met yet, given his background in law enforcement and many connections. Langston calls all the shots, including having Saropian follow them. His interactions with Reacher are some of the most intriguing cat and mouse games on the show, as the two share threatening phone calls each time Langston tries and fails to take Reacher out. His end, being thrown from a helicopter just as he had done to Franz, was a fitting conclusion to his story.

Paul “Paulie” van Hoven

There’s no denying that Reacher is a monstrous physical specimen. While kind-hearted and soft-spoken, he’s also undeniably very tall and muscular. But next to Paul “Paulie” van Hoven (Olivier Richters), he looks like a mouse. That’s because Paulie is 7’4″ and weighs a remarkable 420 lbs., most of which is muscle. If Reacher ever looked slightly scared of meeting someone, it was Paulie, who not only towered over him, but similarly had a military background and was a skilled fighter. He proved to be a formidable fighting adversary. But when it came to intellect, Reacher quickly realized that he far surpassed this “meathead” man in that department.

Paulie worked as Zachary Beck’s bodyguard, and he was one of the biggest (literally) things in Reacher’s way through the season. But the final fight between these two massive men is arguably one of the best ever of the show. Both showed their incredible strength and resilience. The fight went on and on because neither of them would die, despite being on the brink multiple times throughout the brawl. What was so great about his death, however, is that Reacher managed to kill Paulie by deceiving him, showing that he doesn’t just have the brawn, he has the brains, too. In terms of raw physical strength, however, Paulie was probably the only person Reacher has ever met, and will ever meet, who was stronger than him.

Francis Xavier Quinn/Julius McCabe

Francis Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) is a villain that Reacher has a personal vendetta against and didn’t even realize was still alive. Reacher had a run-in with him years earlier when he was going by the name Julius McCabe. And what Julius did was absolutely horrendous. He captured Dominique Kohl (Mariah Robinson), a promising young woman on Reacher’s team. He didn’t just kill her, he tortured her and hung her up like a piece of meat. Reacher knew Dominique hadn’t given him up and respected her for it. But he also felt responsible for her death. He thought he avenged her by killing Quinn way back then. But as it turns out, Quinn managed to survive a gunshot to the head, though he lost his memory during recovery.

This made it intriguing when Reacher realized Quinn was the man running the criminal enterprise Zachary Beck worked for. He wasn’t going to let this opportunity pass by. Quinn doesn’t come across as someone scary, looking like your typical lanky businessman in a suit. Then again, so did Gus Fring from Breaking Bad. Quinn, one of the greatest TV villains of 2025, proved to not have changed at all. He was ruthless and cruel, one of the most awful villains Reacher ever crossed paths with not once, but twice. What’s fantastic about his death is that you sense a small twinge of recognition in Quinn’s eyes right before Reacher pulls the trigger… again. He may not have remembered who Reacher was at first, but he likely did then.

Amisha Hoth

What makes Amisha Hoth (Anggun) so deadly and dangerous is not just the fact that she brutally sliced and tortured a young woman in front of a young man before slicing his throat, too (and the throats of many others) — it’s how convincingly she is able to slink into the innocent aunt persona when Reacher first meets her. In fact, how she and Lila Hoth (Agnez Mo) manage to fool Reacher makes them more dangerous than anyone else. Reacher has always been pretty good at reading people. But for more than half the season, he truly believed Lila was an innocent victim and Amisha just her caring and quiet aunt.

The reveal of Amisha as a dangerous assassin with training in martial arts was a massively shocking twist. Her history working for a barbaric general in the late ’90s and her training of Lila prove she’s ferociously dangerous. Her desire to sell a bioweapon to the highest bidder with little regard for who it kills nor how many solidifies her as a terrorist. Seeing her put her talents to work in fighting Reacher really confirmed that a villain doesn’t have to be as big as Paulie to effectively fight back. She’s probably a quarter of his size but, together with Lila, took him down like no other had done in the show yet. She’s one of the biggest villains in the show because you’d never see her coming.

Lila Hoth

Lila is the personification of a black widow. She lured Anna’s (Karen Kwong-Chip) son, Benjamin (Denis Wong), using an OnlyFans model, then tortured her in front of him for information. She participated in all the heinous acts alongside Amisha. And while she was the mentee who was groomed by Amisha from a young age, she knew what she was doing every step of the way. The way she managed to seduce Reacher was impressive. He never thought for a second she was the enemy, and viewers at home may not have even realized it as well. That’s precisely what makes her so dangerous.

Lila showed no remorse for her actions and was happy to kill hundreds of people in one shot if it meant getting money to run away and probably continue doing evil things. She may rank as one of the greatest TV villains of all time. Her death was poetic justice since she was killed by Reacher injecting her with the very poison she wanted to sell to buyers to kill thousands, potentially more.

Vivienne is far from the only one of Pitt and Jolie’s children to make such a decision. Maddox and Zahara also published notices announcing plans to remove Pitt from their surnames, while Shiloh dropped her father’s last name in 2024, when she turned 18.

Knox, meanwhile, was listed as Knox Jolie on his high school graduation diploma. Pitt’s relationship with his son Pax has also appeared strained. Pax previously called Pitt a “world-class -sshole,” and accused him of making his younger siblings “tremble in fear.”

The harsh remarks offered another glimpse into the brewing tension between Pitt and some of his children.

The distance between Pitt and his children follows years of family tension after his marriage to Jolie came to an end. Their separation began in 2016, and the former couple eventually finalized their lengthy divorce in 2024.

A source close to Pitt described the situation with his children as “deeply painful.” The insider told the Daily Mail that Pitt views Jolie’s alleged involvement in how their relationship deteriorated as “the ultimate betrayal.”

Jolie, however, has denied wanting an ongoing fight, with a source close to her saying, “She just wants everyone to heal.”

Vivienne’s move into art also reflects the independence Jolie says she has tried to encourage in all six of her children. The actress recently spoke about her approach to motherhood and expressed pride in seeing them develop their own identities.

“One of the most important things, I think, is to basically not get in their way,” Jolie told L’Officiel, according to Page Six. She described her children as “definitely individuals” and said she is proud of the different directions they have chosen for themselves.

Jolie explained that parenting, for her, also involves recognizing that a child has ambitions and ideas separate from their parents. “You want to make sure that you support them,” she said while discussing the importance of allowing them to explore that potential.

Now that all six children have reached adulthood, Jolie is also considering what her own next chapter will look like. She said her children support her desire to travel more, return to field work, and pursue interests she had less time for while raising them.

A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly tried to arrange a murder-for-hire plot to kill his neighbor over a drone dispute.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that David Butka was charged with one count of solicitation to commit murder following the incident.

Butka, 69, was already in custody after he pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated assault following an incident involving the same victim on July 22. He was scheduled to be released on Thursday, September 17, but a fellow inmate reported him to a jail supervisor on Wednesday, September 16, regarding allegations of the murder-for-hire plot, according to a probable cause affidavit viewed by Us.

During the July incident, a witness told authorities that Butka and a neighbor were involved in an ongoing civil dispute regarding the defendant flying a drone over their property.

The victim said they left their home when they “noticed the drone stopped above his house and pulled out his phone to record the ongoing civil issue involving the drone.”

They then claimed that Butka “aggressively” threw a rock at their vehicle, which left “marks and dents all over” it. Butka was subsequently arrested for the incident.

Butka was in custody on the aggravated assault charge when he allegedly approached another inmate on September 7 or September 8 and “solicited him to kill his neighbor,” per the affidavit.

He allegedly told the inmate that he had “approximately $1.3 million in the bank and would give him $5,000 up front to kill” his neighbor. He then allegedly shared the victim’s personal address, telephone number, their first name, a physical description, their morning schedule and instructions on how to find their home.

Police said Butka also gave the inmate his credit card information, which the inmate gave to his wife so that she could put $300 in his commissary account.

The inmate “had written the information regarding the plot on a piece of paper and provided a handwritten note containing the information regarding the plot” to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office official on September 16, which led to Butka being hit with the additional charge.

Butka has denied his involvement in the murder-for-hire plot, and he claimed he gave the money to the inmate in order to retain a lawyer.

Sergeant James Vachon told WESH that it’s “still not real clear on why he felt the need to have this witness murdered other than, possibly, just anger and revenge.”

Butka’s bond for the new charge has been set at $25,000. It’s unclear whether he has retained an attorney or entered a plea in light of the new charge.

Clooney reportedly offered Presley direct advice after the model was charged with driving under the influence in 2018. “Especially after Presley got a DUI (in 2018), George would advise, ‘Don’t do that, it’s not smart. Be careful.’ More recently, George shared loving notes like, “I am here for you,” that kind of stuff,” the insider said.

Another source described their connection as more meaningful than the typical relationship between a celebrity and a friend’s child. “They were close. Presley was more than just a friend’s kid; they had a bond,” the source said.

Clooney and Rande reportedly met during the mid-1990s at The Whiskey, a bar Rande owned inside New York City’s Paramount Hotel. After Rande married Crawford in 1998, Clooney became increasingly close to the couple and their children. Presley was born in 1999, followed by Kaia in 2001. “George was around Presley a lot when he was growing up; he was Uncle George, and they were all pals, really like family,” the source shared.

The families allegedly spent time together at Clooney’s former home in Studio City and at the Gerbers’ Malibu residence. “Often Cindy and Rande would take the kids to George’s old house in Studio City (LA) for dinner, to swim, and to hang out, or George would come to their house in Malibu. They had a lot of dinners together, a lot of downtime. The Gerbers also visited George in Italy quite often,” the source said.

The insider added, “They used to hang out in Mexico together a lot too; they had side-by-side homes, and the kids were always around having fun. More recently, they would hang out in New York City; they always caught up over dinner.”

Clooney and Rande’s friendship eventually developed into a major business partnership. The two men founded Casamigos Tequila with real estate entrepreneur Mike Meldman in 2013. The company began with tequila the friends created for themselves before growing into a commercial brand. The trio sold Casamigos to Diageo in 2017 in a deal reportedly worth as much as $1 billion if performance targets were met.

The Actor Reportedly Drew On His Own Past Experiences

The Daily Mail’s source suggested Clooney could speak openly with Presley partly because the actor had experimented with drugs when he was younger. In a 2025 interview with Esquire, Clooney acknowledged using cocaine during the early 1980s but maintained that it never became a serious problem for him.

The actor also spoke about his past experiences with marijuana and alcohol during the interview. “George had his own experiences with substances,” the Daily Mail’s insider said. “He was never addicted, but he tried it, and he knows about the attraction to drugs, so he could talk openly with Presley about this and Presley could relate. Presley died on September 20 at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California. Santa Monica police said officers responded to a report of a possible overdose at approximately 9:35 a.m. Authorities found Presley dead at the facility and said there were no immediate indications of foul play.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner completed an autopsy but deferred the official cause and manner of death while additional testing is conducted. The process could take several months.

The death has reportedly devastated Clooney and other members of the family’s close Hollywood circle. “George is sick over this because Rande is his best friend and everyone felt for Presley,” an insider said. “There is no anger or shame, just deep sadness. Presley had a real problem with depression and anxiety. No one can fault him for that. Presley was living a nightmare.”

Another source claimed the loss has also affected those close to Clooney and the Gerbers, including Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt. “It’s just awful. I know that George is so sad about it. This is devastating for everyone in that circle,” the source said.

An industry insider described Presley’s death as a “tremendous gut punch” for Clooney. “George wears his heart on his sleeve, and he really, really loved Presley. He knew Presley had his struggles, so while you can’t say something like this was completely unimaginable, that doesn’t make it any less shocking or devastating,” the insider claimed. “It was an incredibly painful and unwanted surprise, and honestly, a tremendous gut punch for George.”

“George has always been the person people turn to when they’re going through something, and with something of this magnitude, that isn’t going to change. It doesn’t matter how busy he is or what he has going on in his own life – if Rande or anyone in the family needs him, everything else stops,” they added. “It’s really that simple.”
