These films deserve louder respect because they understand espionage as pressure on the soul. Some are dry and bitter. Some are romantic in a way that feels dangerous. ‘The Tailor of Panama’ (2001)
The Tailor of Panama follows Harry Pendel (Geoffrey Rush), who is a charming British tailor in Panama, dressing politicians, bankers, diplomats, and crooks while quietly drowning in debt. Then Andrew Osnard (Pierce Brosnan), a disgraced MI6 operative with sweat, ego, and appetite written all over him, realizes Harry’s access can be turned into intelligence. Harry panics, invents sources, invents plots, and suddenly his little survival stories start moving governments.
That is the nasty brilliance of the film. It treats espionage as a marketplace where bad information becomes valuable once the right men want it. Rush makes Harry lovable and pathetic in the same breath, a man lying partly from fear and partly from the strange thrill of being listened to. Brosnan is even sharper as Osnard, and uses a Bond-like charm. Panama, in this film, therefore, becomes a place where colonial arrogance, money, sex, and fantasy all start feeding the same machine. The masterpiece angle sits in that ugly joke: a fake spy story can still create real damage.

‘Confessions of a Dangerous Mind’ (2002)
A game-show host claiming he lived a secret life as a CIA assassin sounds like a drunk Hollywood dare, which is exactly why Confessions of a Dangerous Mind has such a strange pull. Chuck Barris (Sam Rockwell) creates trashy television, chases fame, cheats on the woman who loves him, and keeps insisting that behind the silliness of The Dating Game and The Gong Show sat a second life of covert killings. The film never asks the viewer to relax into one clean truth.
That uncertainty gives the whole thing its sting. Rockwell makes Chuck restless and needy, someone who wants attention so badly that even guilt starts looking like another spotlight. George Clooney’s CIA recruiter slips into his life with deadpan menace, while Penny (Drew Barrymore) keeps representing the ordinary love Chuck is too damaged and self-mythologizing to receive properly. The spy material has guns, hotel rooms, dead drops, and paranoia, yet the deeper mystery is Chuck himself. Maybe he killed people. Maybe he turned fame, shame, and self-loathing into the most dramatic story he could tell about his own emptiness.

‘The Ipcress File’ (1965)
The Ipcress File follows Harry Palmer (Michael Caine) who feels like the spy who got stuck doing paperwork after everyone else took the glamorous assignments. He is working-class, sarcastic, near-sighted, and surrounded by British intelligence offices that look more like miserable civil-service rooms than fantasy headquarters. When kidnapped scientists begin returning with their minds damaged, Palmer gets pulled into a case involving brainwashing, interdepartmental politics, surveillance, and a word that sounds harmless until it starts breaking people: IPCRESS.
The pleasure here comes from how stubbornly unromantic the film is. Palmer cooks, shops, complains, watches, listens, and survives through attention. And yes, that was a thing before Kingsmen: The Secret Service. The canted angles, cramped rooms, tape recorders, files, handlers, and office rivalries make espionage feel like a job where boredom and danger share the same desk. The brainwashing material gives the story its sci-fi edge, but the lasting flavor is pure Cold War fatigue. Every superior seems to know half the truth, and Palmer has to keep his own mind intact while men above him trade human beings like departmental assets. This film is definitely underrated.

‘The Spy Who Came in from the Cold’ (1965)
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold circles the story of Alec Leamas (Richard Burton). He is a British agent burned out by years on the Berlin front, then Control sends him into one last operation designed to make East German intelligence believe he is ready to defect. Liz Gold (Claire Bloom), a young communist librarian who cares about him, gets pulled into the machinery of the plan, and that is where the film starts becoming genuinely painful.
Alec looks exhausted before the mission even properly begins, which tells you almost everything about this world. Alec drinks, snaps, waits, and lets himself look broken because the performance needs to convince enemies and allies alike. The genius is how little romance the movie gives to sacrifice. Spycraft here is meetings, traps, staged disgrace, ideological theater, and people used as pressure points. It’s an excellent watch.

‘Decision Before Dawn’ (1951)
Decision Before Dawn is the kind of war-spy film that sneaks up on you because its heroism feels so frightened and human. Near the end of World War II, American intelligence recruits German prisoners to go back behind enemy lines and gather information. One of them, nicknamed Happy (Oskar Werner), is a young German soldier who has lost faith in the Nazi cause and chooses to risk his life against the country that raised him.
That premise gives the film a moral tension most wartime thrillers would simplify. Happy is useful to the Allies, distrusted by almost everyone, and walking through Germany with the face and language of the enemy while carrying a choice that could get him killed from either side. The ruined streets, checkpoints, uniforms, false papers, train movements, and whispered contacts make the danger feel practical and the film never lets bravery feel easy so that whole thing is a nice hook.

‘The Deadly Affair’ (1967)
The Deadly Affair makes betrayal look middle-aged, tired, and humiliating. That sounds familiar until you zero-in and realise that most spy films make betrayal look exciting. It foll;ows Charles Dobbs (James Mason) as a British intelligence officer investigating the supposed suicide of a Foreign Office official, and the case drags him through old acquaintances, Cold War suspicion, and a private life that is already hurting him. His wife Ann (Harriet Andersson) is emotionally elsewhere, and Dobbs keeps chasing professional truth while his own home life keeps telling him things he does not want to hear.
That bruised domestic pain gives the mystery its real texture. Mason carries Dobbs with a quiet sadness that feels heavier than anger. He is intelligent enough to read lies in a case file and wounded enough to miss or tolerate lies in his marriage. The investigation moves through interviews, theater-world connections, old ideological loyalties, and people whose manners keep covering rot. The color-grading too, has this gray, drained feeling, as if the spy game has sucked glamour out of every room. Its greatness sits in how personal the coldness becomes. Dobbs solves pieces of the case while losing the comfort of thinking truth will make him whole.

‘The Kremlin Letter’ (1970)
The Kremlin Letter feels like espionage with the lights turned off and the rulebook burned. That’s epic. The premise basically is that a secret letter threatens to expose a dangerous arrangement involving American and Soviet intelligence, so a group of operatives is assembled to retrieve it from Moscow. They are less a noble spy team than a collection of specialists, predators, survivors, and compromised people who know exactly how filthy this work can get.
The film’s power comes from how little moral oxygen it gives anyone. The film is helmed by John Huston and he builds this world of blackmail, seduction, coded loyalty, torture, double-crossing, and professional cruelty where every conversation sounds like someone testing the floor for traps. The characters use charm, sex, language, family ties, and fear as tools, then look almost bored by what those tools do to other people. That emotional dryness is the point. The spy genre often sells control as elegance. This film sees control as contamination. Once people enter the operation, they start becoming part of a system that can digest almost any conscience and still ask for another favor.

‘Army of Shadows’ (1969)
Resistance stories often get polished into clean courage, and Army of Shadows refuses that comfort at every turn. That identity is what gives it a hook. That identity is why it sits at #3 on this list. In this film, Philippe Gerbier (Lino Ventura) is part of the French Resistance during Nazi occupation, moving through arrests, escapes, safe houses, coded messages, and missions where a single mistake can destroy an entire network. His comrades are brave, but their bravery lives inside dread, secrecy, exhaustion, and decisions that would ruin a person in any normal life.
The film hurts because every act of loyalty seems to demand another sacrifice. Gerbier’s escape is tense, yet the quieter scenes stay even longer: men waiting in rooms, a traitor being executed by people who hate that the task has fallen to them, Mathilde (Simone Signoret) carrying impossible responsibility while knowing the Germans can reach her through her daughter. These people fight fascism without the luxury of feeling heroic all the time. They simply keep moving, and the cost gathers in their faces.

‘Lust, Caution’ (2007)

Lust, Caution is exactly what the title is. The first time Wong Chia Chi (Tang Wei) understands how deeply she has entered the role, the film becomes almost unbearable. She begins as a student in Japanese-occupied China, drawn into a resistance plot to assassinate Mr. Yee (Tony Leung Chiu-wai), a powerful collaborator. Her assignment is to pose as a married woman, get close to him, and help lure him into a position where the group can kill him. The mission depends on performance, and the performance begins eating her life.
Wong is asked to use desire as a weapon, yet Mr. Yee is also a man trained by danger to distrust every tenderness offered to him. Their encounters are disturbing because power, fear, attraction, and suspicion keep changing places. The mahjong rooms, jewelry shop, resistance meetings, brutal intimacy, and occupied-city atmosphere all press on Wong until the mission stops feeling separable from her body. This is spy cinema at its most devastating because the secret operation does not merely risk death. It asks a young woman to become someone else so completely that returning to herself may no longer be possible.

‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ (2011)
You can feel the silence of this movie watching people back. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy follows George Smiley (Gary Oldman) as a retired British intelligence officer brought back after Control’s failed operation suggests a Soviet mole has been living near the top of the Circus, the British Secret Service. The suspects are senior men with old loyalties, old resentments, and enough history with Smiley to make every glance feel loaded. Nobody runs through the street shouting secrets. They sit in rooms and let decades of betrayal rot the air between them.
That restraint is exactly why the film is so gripping. Smiley listens more than he speaks, and Oldman makes that stillness feel active, almost predatory in its patience. Peter Guillam (Benedict Cumberbatch)’s sacrifice, Ricki Tarr (Tom Hardy)’s doomed romance with Irina, Jim Prideaux (Mark Strong) carrying the wound of the botched mission, Control’s paranoia, and Bill Haydon (Colin Firth)’s charm all feed into a mystery about friendship as much as treason. The mole hunt is brilliant, but the ache underneath it is even sharper. These men gave their lives to institutions that trained them to distrust love, then acted shocked when betrayal learned to speak their language.

The basketball analyst drew attention during Game 5 of the championship series when he reacted to actress Sydney Sweeney’s appearance in the crowd.
The moment quickly became a talking point online, especially since it came just days after Barkley sparked controversy with remarks about rapper Cardi B during another Knicks playoff game.
Sydney Sweeney was among the high-profile celebrities who traveled to San Antonio to watch the New York Knicks take on the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
The Idaho-born actress appeared courtside wearing a white Knicks shirt as she cheered on the team during the pivotal matchup.
Sweeney was seated alongside boyfriend Scooter Braun, a New York native who has also been supporting the Knicks throughout their playoff run.
During ESPN’s coverage of the game, Charles Barkley appeared surprised to see the “Euphoria” star in attendance.
“Sydney Sweeney is here? Everybody’s a New York Knicks fan now,” Barkley remarked.

Just days before mentioning Sweeney, the longtime analyst stirred controversy when he made comments about halftime performer Cardi B that referenced the rapper’s chest.
As The Blast reported, the controversy began when the Hall of Famer reacted to the rapper’s halftime appearance and quipped, “I don’t know if those B’s. Those might be Cardi D’s,” referencing her chest size during the broadcast.
The remark quickly went viral, prompting a flood of reactions online. While many fans laughed off the joke as classic Barkley humor, others called it inappropriate, with some critics labeling the comment “diabolical” and even suggesting he could be “fired” from ESPN over it.
Rather than back down, Charles Barkley embraced the controversy surrounding his viral Cardi B joke and said he would be more than happy if ESPN decided to show him the door.
According to The Blast, the NBA analyst addressed the backlash during an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” where he laughed off the criticism.
Barkley revealed he still had six or seven years remaining on his contract and joked that being fired would actually work in his favor.
“I’m hoping they fire me,” he said, adding that he would “love” to be paid for the remainder of the deal without having to work.
Barkley also made it clear he has little patience for critics upset over the joke. “People can’t take a joke?” he said before doubling down further by telling those without a sense of humor they can “kiss my *ss. My whole *ss, not just one cheek. The whole *ss.”
Barkley Roasts Ice Spice After Viral McDonald’s Altercation
Cardi B isn’t the only star Charles Barkley has spoken about in recent times. The Blast reported that the 63-year-old had the “Inside the NBA” crew in stitches after turning a sponsored McDonald’s segment into a running joke about rapper Ice Spice’s recent altercation at one of the chain’s restaurants.
As the panel prepared to discuss NBA playoff action, Barkley suddenly quipped that McDonald’s was serving “slappy Happy Meals,” referencing reports that Ice Spice was allegedly slapped during a late-night visit to a Los Angeles location.
When Shaquille O’Neal asked what he meant, Barkley replied, “You see Ice Spice got slapped at McDonald’s?” before joking, “What you doing at McDonald’s in the middle of the night, Ice Spice? Come on, stop that. Get it to go.”
The comments sent O’Neal, Ernie Johnson, and even members of the production crew into fits of laughter.
Barkley later doubled down, telling the panel, “A slappy Happy Meal over there. Let Ice Spice eat in peace!” while joking that she “should have slapped her in the face with a Big Mac.”

During an emotional discussion on “Inside the NBA” following Collins’ death at age 47, Barkley argued that society still had a long way to go when it came to acceptance.
“If another guy did it, it would still be a big deal because we live in a homophobic society,” Barkley said per The Blast, referring to another active athlete publicly coming out as gay.
He also dismissed the idea that there are no other gay athletes competing at the highest levels of sports, adding, “Anybody who thinks we ain’t got a bunch of gay players in all sports, they’re just stupid.”

As the former Hollywood power couple remains locked in the fallout from their bitter split, sources close to Pitt are now alleging that a failed attempt at reconciliation played a major role in deepening the divide.

For Brad Pitt, the upcoming 18th birthday of twins Knox and Vivienne is reportedly carrying more sadness than celebration.
According to sources close to the Hollywood star, the milestone could mark the final stage of a years-long estrangement from his children.
The Daily Mail reported that the twins are expected to legally remove Pitt from their surnames shortly after turning 18, following a path already taken publicly by several of their siblings.
A source close to Pitt told the outlet, “We’re at the finish line. Angelina has won. This has been a comprehensive and deliberate effort to fully alienate the children from their father and dropping the Pitt name from theirs is an exclamation point.”
The insider added, “She has completed the most effective campaign of parental alienation ever but at what cost?”
The report follows claims that Knox recently omitted her father’s surname during his high school graduation ceremony, adding to growing signs of the family’s continued distance from the actor.

The current situation is a far cry from the happy family life Brad Pitt once shared with Angelina Jolie. When the former couple married at Château Miraval in France in August 2014, all six children participated in the ceremony.

The latest report includes claims from sources close to Brad Pitt suggesting that part of Jolie’s resentment stems from an alleged failed attempt at reconciliation following the plane incident.
According to those sources, the actress hoped the marriage could be repaired but Pitt rejected the possibility. However, an insider familiar with Jolie’s perspective strongly disputed that version of events.
Instead, they stated that she participated in years of family therapy alongside Pitt and the children “for everyone to try to heal after the events that led to her divorce.”
Following the split, a judge initially ruled that the “Troy” actor and Jolie should share custody of their children equally.
That decision was later overturned due to concerns regarding judicial disclosures, leaving Jolie with primary physical custody. Pitt continued pursuing shared custody for years before eventually ending that legal effort in March 2024.
Sources close to Jolie maintain that any distance between Pitt and the children stems from deeper issues. “If he isn’t close to the kids, it’s because of the harm he has done,” one source said.

However, her latest headlines have little to do with Goop products and everything to do with politics. After comments about her political identity and a divisive real estate campaign tied to Israel sparked backlash online, new claims suggest the debate may not be confined to social media.
According to insiders, Paltrow’s differing views from husband Brad Falchuk have reportedly led to heated arguments behind closed doors.
For years, Gwyneth Paltrow has become accustomed to criticism. Her wellness empire and unconventional lifestyle recommendations have often made her a lightning rod for public debate. However, her recent comments about politics generated a different kind of reaction.
During a recent episode of her “Goop Podcast” featuring guest Trae Stephens, Paltrow reflected on navigating differing viewpoints in today’s political climate.
While discussing conversations with her husband, television writer and producer Brad Falchuk, she described him as deeply progressive and committed to making sure everyone is looked after.
“I notice with my own husband, too, who’s the best person ever in the world. And he’s so progressive,” she said, adding, “He has such a sweetheart and he wants to, like, make sure everybody’s looked after. And I think in this climate, sometimes I’m like, ‘Can you just listen to this?’”
Paltrow also explained that she has been trying to weave together different points of view while moving away from feelings of anger and righteousness.
She described herself as politically centrist before adding that Falchuk often jokes about where she falls on the spectrum.
Paltrow And Falchuk Reportedly Clash Over Politics
According to a Daily Mail insider, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk’s political differences have occasionally created tension inside their marriage.
“Gwyneth knows she’s a polarizing figure and she thrives on it,” the source claimed. “Brad’s the total opposite. The fact he works behind the scenes in the industry is perfect for him. He’s not known as Mr Paltrow which he’s pleased about.”
The insider alleged that their differing political leanings have resulted in disagreements and arguments over the years. Rather than engaging in every debate, the source said Falchuk often chooses a quieter approach.
“He tends to ignore some of her more outrageous statements or he just shakes his head. Brad’s found that not getting into it with her is the best way to keep the peace sometimes,” they revealed.
Another source suggested their opposing personalities are both a challenge and a strength within the relationship.
While Falchuk reportedly prefers a more measured approach, Paltrow is described as someone who is never afraid to challenge the norm.
Gwyneth Paltrow Faces Backlash Over Israel Campaign
The criticism surrounding Paltrow intensified after she appeared in a promotional campaign for Israeli real estate group Aviv Melisron.
In the advertisement, the actress revealed the benefits of living near a park while promoting “51 Park,” a luxury residential development in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv.
The campaign quickly generated strong reactions online. Some critics accused the 53 year-old of supporting Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Lebanon.
Among those speaking out was activist Alana Hadid, sister of models Gigi and Bella Hadid.
“Dude the level of unhinged capitalism is f*****g astounding. Brutal. Girl. Have you opened a newspaper or watch the news,” Alana wrote on Instagram.
Others defended Paltrow, praising her support for Israel and her willingness to publicly stand by her beliefs despite criticism.
Paltrow’s Jewish Heritage Plays A Major Role
Sources close to Gwyneth Paltrow insist her decision to participate in the campaign was not motivated by money. “Her recent pro-Israel stance isn’t anything new,” one insider said.
The source noted that Paltrow has long felt connected to the Jewish community through her family. Her late father was Jewish, while her godfather is filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Falchuk is also Jewish.
The insider further claimed that the October 7 Hamas attacks strengthened Paltrow’s connection to her faith.
“She’s always celebrated being Jewish, but even more so now she has wanted to find other ways to speak up for what she believes in,” the source shared.
Paltrow has previously supported efforts to raise awareness about hostages and signed an open letter addressed to former President Joe Biden. She also shared emotional messages supporting families affected by the conflict.
Gwyneth Paltrow Refuses To Back Down Despite Criticism
While criticism continues to mount from some corners of social media, insiders say Paltrow has no plans to step away from sharing her opinions.
The “Marty Supreme” actress reportedly has no political ambitions and no desire to seek public office, but those close to her say she remains committed to speaking openly about issues she cares about.
“What she fears is staying quiet and being noncommittal,” one insider claimed. The source added that Paltrow understands she remains a divisive public figure but is comfortable with that reality.
Whether she is discussing wellness trends, politics, or her personal beliefs, the actress has built a reputation for saying exactly what is on her mind. According to those close to her, that approach is unlikely to change anytime soon.
“She knows she has her fans and detractors too,” the insider said, adding, “It doesn’t bother her.”
Love Island USA‘s Zach Georgiou surprised Kayda Bosse when he hinted he didn’t want them to have sex — despite performing other sexual acts — before they took a trip to the Hideaway.
During the Sunday, June 14, episode of the hit Peacock series, the night cameras caught a conversation between Zach and Kayda where he expressed a want to wait to go all the way together.
Zach mentioned the risk of sleeping together only to have an obstacle — such as another person entering the villa — breaking them apart. Kayda was concerned about Zach’s suggestion — especially after they previously appeared to hook up.
They were able to work their issues out, however, before they were sent to the Hideaway at the end of the episode. Despite their past conversation, Kayda made it clear she was going to have sex with Zach.
Love Island USA follows a group of singles who must pair off in order to stay in the show’s luxury villa. The contestants — referred to as Islanders — live in isolation in a villa under constant video surveillance. They must be coupled up to remain on the show and earn a shot at the $100,000 prize.
While the islanders are filming nonstop for weeks, viewers are watching daily episodes and casting votes that affect the couples and the fate of the contestants.
While the Islanders paired off during Day 1, it didn’t take long for those bonds to shift. There was also the arrival of bombshells, who tempted several Islanders to reconsider their connections.
Before viewers tuned in, Peacock issued a message to remind the audience to be kind.

Host Ariana Madix has also had to previously issue a message for those Love Island USA viewers who are taking things too far when expressing their frustrations with the show.
“I do want to say something to some of those people who are online,” she said during a June 2025 episode of Aftersun. “Don’t be contacting people’s families. Don’t be doxxing people.”
Ariana questioned the behavior she saw on social media.
“Don’t be going on islanders’ pages and saying rude things. You still have time to delete all of that because the islanders don’t have their phones,” she noted. “So we are giving you a chance because this is a fun, amazing and beautiful show. We should be thanking each one of these islanders every single day for giving us themselves.”

Tyra Banks has taken legal action against Netflix, months after the streaming giant released the three-part docuseries about “ANTM” titled “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model.” The reality show’s former host claims the creators edited the show to create a false narrative and put her in a bad light.
Two of the show’s former contestants, Adrianne Curry and Angelea Preston, are now weighing in on the lawsuit and what they really think about Banks’ legal move.
“America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 1 winner Adrianne Curry has been vocal when it comes to her thoughts about the reality series and its former host.
On June 14, after Tyra Banks’ lawsuit against Netflix was reported, Curry took to Instagram and posted a short video saying, “I read that Tyra Banks is suing Netflix because she didn’t like being edited,” Curry said, adding air quotes as she said, “edited.” The former model laughed before saying, “B-tch, for real, girl?” She captioned the post, “Welcome to the party, pal.”
In the comments section, she shared her thoughts, wondering if the lawsuit was a “publicity stunt” from Netflix or Banks “because she has something new coming.”
As The Blast previously reported, Curry reacted to the release of the docuseries in February, mockingly praising Banks for not apologizing over some of the reality show’s controversies.
Angelea Preston Said The Tables Have Turned
Angelea Preston competed on “ANTM” thrice in Cycle 12, 14, and 17. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Preston noted that Banks’ allegations in her lawsuit about “selective editing” and “surgical manipulation” in the documentary.
“Now you know how we feel. It’s kind of like a taste of your own medicine, in a way,” Preston told the outlet. The former model added that if Banks’ claims against Netflix were factual, then it served as “karma.” Over the years, several “ANTM” contestants alleged that the reality show manipulated interviews and spliced footage to come up with false storylines.
In 2023, Preston revealed that she was the original winner of Cycle 17. However, she later received a call from the producer asking about her brief engagement in sex work. Preston was later told that her title would be stripped because she violated a “moral clause.” The end of the Cycle was then re-shot, and another contestant was declared the winner.
Tyra Banks’ Lawsuit Against Netflix
On June 13, Banks filed a lawsuit against Netflix and the creators of the docuseries, directors Mor Loushy and Daniel Sivan, and EverWonder Studio, alleging that they created a “defamatory narrative” against her.
In the documents, the former host claimed that she was interviewed for more than three hours, and only 16 minutes were used in the three-part series. When the documentary was released, Banks faced backlash for failing to take responsibility for some of the most controversial moments on “ANTM.”
Her lawsuit read, “The accountability Ms. Banks took ended up on the cutting room floor. It was there, but viewers were never given the opportunity to see it.”
The Lawsuit Addressed Shandi Sullivan’s Sexual Assault
Shandi Sullivan participated in the documentary and discussed her “cheating scandal” in Cycle 2, which she said was a case of sexual assault. In that episode, titled “The Girl Who Cheated,” Sullivan, who was heavily intoxicated, was shown with a male model in bed, implying they had sexual relations. Cameras also captured the moment she called her boyfriend to confess what had happened.
In the documentary, Sullivan said she was severely “hammered,” and the “ANTM” crew got footage of the encounter. “No one did anything to stop it. And it all got filmed, all of it.”
Banks’ lawsuit states that the documentary made it seem that Banks was “intentionally trying to evade the topic,” adding that the creators used “selective editing, deliberate omission, and surgical manipulation” of her interview to make it appear that she used Sullivan’s assault to get ratings.
Tyra Banks’ Lawsuit Sparks Different Reactions
Many are weighing in on Banks’s lawsuit, and users are divided. Some agreed that Banks was manipulated, with one saying, “With a 4 hour interview context matters. You can piece and cut the exact moments into a disturbing clip to make someone look like a villain.”
Others, however, shared Preston and Curry’s opinions. One wrote, “The irony of a reality TV manipulator getting manipulated.” Another person added, “Like how she took hours of footage of models but still made them look like train wrecks on ANTM? She’s mad that she’s being treated the way she treated others.”
Banks claims that she was only shown the documentary a day before its release and was not given a chance to argue against others’ accusations against her. The lawsuit read, “She would not have participated” if she knew that she was “being set up.”

In 2001, fresh off the success of Gladiator, Scott directed Black Hawk Down, a star-studded modern warfare movie that inspired numerous films that came afterward, not to mention video game franchises such as Battlefield and Call of Duty. That said, it also contributed significantly to how Hollywood portrays “the other.” Black Hawk Down is currently streaming on Peacock in the United States, but it won’t stick around for much longer.

The movie was given a limited release mere weeks after the September 11 attacks. It expanded into wide release in January 2002, and went on to receive four Oscar nominations. Scott received his third Best Director nod, after Thelma & Louise and Gladiator. The movie was a solid hit, grossing $173 million worldwide against a reported budget of more than $90 million. It has, of course, taken on an entirely new life on home video in the years since. The movie is currently available to stream on Peacock, but it will be removed from the platform on July 1. Starring Josh Hartnett, Orlando Bloom, Jason Isaacs, Eric Bana, Ewan McGregor, and others, the film holds a 77% critics’ score and an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The aggregator website’s consensus reads, “Though it’s light on character development and cultural empathy, Black Hawk Down is a visceral, pulse-pounding portrait of war, elevated by Ridley Scott’s superb technical skill.” Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
