‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3’s Masterpiece Episode Is Everything ‘Game of Thrones’ Ending Should’ve Been

Published

on

Editor’s note: The below recap contains spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 3.There are a lot of things to hate about the way Game of Thrones ended, but none are more apparent than the flagrant character assassination of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). Even seven years later, it’s truly baffling that the team behind one of the biggest fantasy shows ever made thought it would be a good idea for a benevolent ruler to become a genocidal maniac with zero development to back up such a change. It’s a conclusion that’s so bad it really should have killed the entire franchise for good, but then, along came House of the Dragon.

While reactions to Season 2 of the Game of Thrones prequel may have been more mixed, Season 1 brought the franchise back to the series’ forte of political intrigue and well-written characters. One of those characters and arguably the protagonist of the entire series is Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Supergirl star Milly Alcock in the future queen’s younger years before passing the torch to Truth Seekers alum Emma D’Arcy. D’Arcy brought down the house in Season 3’s previous episode as a mother in the throes of grief, but the focus on their character in the show’s newest chapter brings forth one of the best episodes in the entire Game of Thrones universe.

‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3’s Third Episode Puts the Spotlight on Rhaenyra

This week’s House of the Dragon appears to be the “experimental episode” that creator Ryan Condal was referring to ahead of the season’s release, but it starts as any other typical episode would. Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), flanked by Ulf (Tom Bennett) and Hugh (Kieran Bew), goes to confront Lord Ormund Hightower (James Norton) and his army to inform them that the war between the Blacks and the Greens is over and that Rhaenyra has taken control as the rightful Queen of Westeros. Ormund, very reluctantly, bends the knee, even handing over the former queen Alicent’s (Olivia Cooke) youngest son, Daeron, as a gesture of goodwill.

After that, though, the perspective switches to Rhaenyra and stays with her for the entirety of the episode, making for a singularly character-motivated hour that hasn’t been seen since Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the flagship series. It’s effectively a showcase of Rhaenyra’s first proper day as Westeros’ queen, where she inherits all sorts of issues. All of this occurs while Ramin Djawadi‘s score really gets to shine, with the string-heavy orchestra coming to a terrifying screech every time Rhaenyra’s resolve is shaken, even though she has vowed to be a peaceful ruler like her father, Viserys (Paddy Considine).

HBO Just Dropped the Perfect Callback to ‘Game of Thrones’ Very First Episode

“The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword.”

Last week’s episode ended on a seemingly triumphant note, with Rhaenyra taking control of King’s Landing, but this week’s hour really hones in on the tumult that follows. First of the many problems in the realm: the royal treasury has been drained of its funds, and not even the imprisoned Alicent or Helaena (Phia Saban) knows what’s become of it. Secondly, the remains of the Triarchy, now scattered after the death of Admiral Lohar (Abigail Thorn) following the Battle of the Gullet, are ransacking villages across the kingdom. Last, but certainly not least, both Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) and Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) are nowhere to be found, despite being the two largest threats to Rhaenyra’s reign. With Aegon’s whereabouts specifically unknown, Rhaenyra orders that the usurper be declared dead.

Rhaenyra’s Descent Officially Begins in ‘House of the Dragon’s New Episode

A depleted treasury, brigands terrorizing the realm, and two vengeful opponents to the throne missing in action are more than enough to drive anyone mad, but Rhaenyra’s problems are only just beginning. Shortly after ordering that her third son, Joffrey, be brought back to King’s Landing so that he can begin preparations to become her heir, Rhaenyra begins having visions of the recently deceased Jacaerys (Harry Collett). Later, she attempts to speak with the High Septon of King’s Landing (Simon Chandler) about officially anointing her as queen despite foregoing a formal coronation, but this leads to a surprisingly tense conversation where the supreme leader of the Faith of the Seven practically calls Rhaenyra a liar to her face, questioning her false narrative of Aegon’s death.

Another potentially bigger problem arises when Corlys (Steve Toussaint) tells Rhaenyra that he would like his two bastard sons, Alyn (Abubakar Salim) and Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), officially acknowledged as Velaryons by the crown. While Rhaenyra does eventually knight Addam along with his fellow dragonseeds, she refuses to give him the Velaryon title, citing the “rumors” her own children faced many years ago. Corlys is not pleased, later confronting Rhaenyra and even referring to her three eldest sons as bastards in front of several bystanders.

One place where Rhaenyra does start to make some progress, though, is with the people. While hearing testimonies from her subjects, it becomes apparent that King’s Landing’s least fortunate are starving, both from Rhaenyra’s blockade during the war and from the rich and powerful of the city hoarding food. The queen confronts this head-on by luring the city’s wealthiest families to the castle while the Goldcloaks seize control of their reserves. Despite a testy exchange with one Torrhen Manderly (played by Fantastic Beasts trilogy star Dan Fogler), the move pays off.

‘House of the Dragon’s Greater Conflict Isn’t Over After Episode 3

This small victory in hand, Rhaenyra tries to make some sort of amends with Alicent in the aftermath of Otto Hightower’s (Rhys Ifans) execution. As a gesture of goodwill, Rhaenyra brings Alicent to see Daeron, but there’s just one problem: the boy Ormund gave Daemon is not Daeron, but a lowborn imposter handed over as a ruse. Rhaenyra vows that this transgression will not go unpunished as she orders the Greens’ tapestries that formerly decorated the halls of the Red Keep to be burned.

The reason why Daenerys’ turn to the dark side didn’t work in Game of Thrones is that it was a huge swing with little development. In just a single episode, let alone her brilliant scenes with Alicent, Rhaenyra is already far more dynamic, more understandable, and more eerily terrifying as she begins to devolve after becoming queen of the realm. It’s a masterful character study that definitively cements Emma D’Arcy as one of the franchise’s best performers and Rhaenyra Targaryen as one of the franchise’s best characters.

Taylor Sheridan Star’s New War Thriller Is Officially “One of the Best Action Movies of the Year”

Published

on

03182343_poster_w780.jpg

Action thrillers have the ability to become spectacular successes or desperately disappointing failures. The genre is hinged heavily on momentum, with lots of the required balance for success needing a perfect blend of tension, pacing, charisma, and escalation. It is equally important for action thrillers to nail their main characters as it is to hit us with expertly choreographed action sequences. Here is why some of the most entertaining action thrillers in movie history — the likes of Matt Damon‘s 2007 spectacle, The Bourne Ultimatum, and John McTiernan’s masterpiece, Die Hard (1988), starring Bruce Willis — have all gone on to succeed.

Stepping into somewhat familiar territory, as far as thrilling gun fights and action sequences, a Taylor Sheridan favorite is poised to make his way into the action thriller genre. In what can be described as the meshing of Liam Neeson‘s Taken alongside its family dynamics with the war backdrop of Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo comes an all-new explosive war epic. Special Ops: Lioness star LaMonica Garrett takes the lead as an elite soldier who is forced back into the fray in the eagerly anticipated action thriller, Man of War. The actor, who has also featured in Prime Video The Terminal List, leads the title, which is directed by William Kaufman. Kaufman’s credits include the action thrillers Sinners and Saints, Shrapnel, and The Channel. More recently, Kaufman took the reins in the 2025 sci-fi action film, Osiris, which starred Terminator icon Linda Hamilton and Garrett as well.

Man of War has arrived on digital streaming on July 3, 2026, and it seems the captivating new action thriller has impressed many. Reviewing the upcoming film, Man of War was given a near-perfect 4/5 from theactionelite, who praised the film as “all-out carnage” while applauding Garrett’s “badass lead.” Furthermore, the film earned a perfect 5/5 score, awarded by action-flix, who described Kaufman as “the master of cinematic tactical action.” Highlighting the film’s war backdrop, actionreloaded was impressed by how Man of War utilized the setup, writing that “Man of War...delivers the kind of hard-hitting action fans expect” on one hand, yet “never losing sight of the innocent lives caught in the middle of the conflict.”

Collider Exclusive · Sci-Fi Survival Quiz
Which Sci-Fi World Would You Survive?
The Matrix · Mad Max · Blade Runner · Dune · Star Wars

Five universes. Five completely different ways the future went wrong — or sideways, or up in flames. Only one of them is the world your instincts were built for. Eight questions will figure out which dystopia, galaxy, or desert wasteland you’d actually make it out of alive.

01

You sense something is deeply wrong with the world around you. What do you do?
The first instinct is often the truest one.

02

In a world of scarcity, what resource do you guard most fiercely?
What we protect reveals what we believe survival actually requires.

03

What kind of threat keeps you up at night?
Fear is useful data — if you’re honest about what you’re actually afraid of.

04

How do you deal with authority you don’t trust?
Every dystopia has a power structure. Your approach to it determines everything.

05

Which environment could you actually endure long-term?
Survival isn’t just tactical — it’s physical, psychological, and very much about where you are.

06

Who do you want in your corner when things fall apart?
The company you keep is the clearest signal of who you actually are.

07

Where do you draw the line — if you draw one at all?
Every survivor eventually faces a moment that tests what they’re actually made of.

08

What would actually make survival worth it?
Staying alive is one thing. Having a reason to is another.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

What Is ‘Man of War’ About?

Man of War follows Connor, an elite American Special Forces veteran who suddenly finds that his assignment just got a lot more personal when his adopted daughter is taken hostage by Russian mercenaries. The film is set against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where Connor is forced to move quickly through fire, backstabbing, and overwhelming odds to try and get her home safely.

Besides the aforementioned lead, Man of War‘s cast includes Linds Edwards (Osiris), Andrew Howard (Limitless), Rosmary Yaneva (The Bouncer), Jason Patric (The Lost Boys), and Daniel Bernhardt (John Wick). It certainly seems like Man of War will deliver a must-see action thriller, as one reaction has even hailed it as nothing less than “One of the Best Action Movies of the Year!” Given that 2026 has already seen films like the tense ’90s-style cop thriller The Rip, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and War Machine, featuring Alan Ritchson leading the alien-invasion survival flick, that is incredibly high praise.

Man of War is available for digital streaming.

Marvel Quietly Casts an X-Men Favorite in Disney+’s 3-Part Masterpiece

Published

on

Psylocke, Jubilee, and Cable in X-Men '97 Season 2 Episode 2

X-Men ’97 is back for Season 2 and that means we’re learning a lot about the X-Men team. Right now, they are separated by many years; there is a team with Cable (Chris Potter) and another with his younger self (Nathan Summers, voiced by Obsession star Michael Johnston). In the mature Cable storyline, we get to see some of our favorite heroes, including Psylocke. While not new to the series as a whole, this take on Psylocke is exciting because she is voiced by Naoko Mori.

Mori is known for her work in shows like the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood and, more recently, the Prime Video series The Boys, where she played Golden Geisha in the final season of the hit series. In Torchwood, Mori played Toshiko Sato, who worked with Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) after she found herself in trouble. But she kept to herself, used her computer skills to prove useful, and even tried to hide her feelings for Owen (Burn Gorman). It all made Mori a fan-favorite of the series.

But Mori has also had a career that spans many genres, like her work as Mrs. Thistlewaite in the 2022 film Mr. Malcom’s List. She’s even done voiceover work before in Big Hero 6: The Series, so Mori is no stranger to dedicated fanbases and the superhero genre. But her joining the impressive ranks of the X-Men ’97 cast is just the icing on the cake for fans of her work. Especially for a character like this, who has been one fans have loved for quite some time. Playing Psylocke (aka, Betsy Braddock) puts Mori in a long lineup of iconic adaptations of the beloved X-Men.

Queens, New York

🕷️ Spider-Man

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

  • You do the right thing not because it’s easy, but because no one else will.
  • You understand that responsibility isn’t a burden you choose — it’s one that finds you.
  • Whether it’s a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
  • Peter Parker’s lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn’t a slogan to you. It’s the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.

Hell’s Kitchen, New York

😈 Daredevil

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

  • You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
  • You’ve looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.
  • Matt Murdock’s duality — champion in the courtroom, devil in the alley — mirrors your own.
  • Relentless, conflicted, and unwilling to stop. That is exactly you.

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

You’ve been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What’s left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

  • You don’t ask for forgiveness, and you don’t expect gratitude.
  • You see a corrupt, broken world and you’ve decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
  • Frank Castle’s war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
  • Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.

Asgard · Protector of the Nine Realms

⚡ Thor

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

  • You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
  • You’re larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
  • Thor’s story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
  • You bring the storm when it’s needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.

Brooklyn, New York · The Avengers

🛡️ Captain America

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

  • You don’t bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
  • Steve Rogers didn’t become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
  • Your strength isn’t in your fists; it’s in your refusal to compromise what’s right, no matter the cost.

Psylocke is a character that fans have loved for years; she was originally introduced in 1976 by Chris Claremont and artist Herb Trimpe. In X-Men: Apocalypse, actress Olivia Munn played the character that was more accurate to the comics than Meiling Melançon‘s take on Psylocke in X-Men: The Last Stand. We’ve had other animated adaptations of the character as well, including the original run of X-Men: The Animated Series when she was voiced by Tasha Simms. It is nice to have so many takes on Betsy Braddock in our lives, especially with legends like Mori taking on the beloved character.

Brooke Shields Slams South Park Creators in Restaurant Fight

Published

on

GettyImages-2275110601-Brooke-Shields-Slams-South-Park-Creators-in-Restaurant-Fight.jpg

Brooke Shields is representing workers at Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Mexican restaurant who claim the Colorado venue is riddled with safety concerns amid poor wages.

“It doesn’t take long to feel how disparaging it is when you visit a place and you see young people excited to perform at the top of their game doing these crazy stunts, or entertaining people … (and) you go personally see them not being cared for,” Shields, 61, told CNN in a report published on Sunday, July 5.

The actress leads a labor union called Actors’ Equity that is currently representing “about 80” of Casa Bonita’s performers who unionized in April 2024 against the South Park creators’ venture, per the outlet.

Us Weekly has reached out to Casa Bonita as well as representatives for Parker, Stone and Shields.

The report also stated that Shields has gone public with Actors’ Equity’s claims after negotiations with restaurant management, including Parker, 56, and Stone, 55, over “not just pay, but fundamental safety issues” haven’t gotten anywhere.

Casa Bonita, located in Lakewood, is renowned for its entertainment, which runs alongside meals from breakfast to dinner. The venue, which was represented during a South Park season 7 episode in 2003, features a 30-foot waterfall, caves and puppet shows that demand artistic performers to partake in shows and stunts including cliff diving and costumed interactions.

Per CNN, Actors’ Equity, on behalf of performers, has been negotiating with Casa Bonita management for improved protection amid claims of “hypothermia and chlorine toxicity from the diving pool” and groping by restaurant patrons.

Performers are also asking for “a raise to bring them more in line with the servers, who they say make more.” The outlet noted that the union says Casa Bonita has so far “made concessions at the bargaining table but with little offered in return to improve current conditions and wages.”

Shields visited the venue herself in March. “The place is so big it took a while for management to realize we were there,” she told the outlet of her experience. “And then word got out because, you know, I didn’t have a hat on and mustache or anything.”

She added that her visit saw her hand-deliver a letter “asking for better wages” for the performers her organization represents. “It was slightly an ambush … you try doing things respectfully, and then you’re not met with equal respect … so you have to resort to other tactics,” Shields told the outlet.

Casa Bonita shared a statement with the outlet in light of its reporting, writing that the restaurant values “all of our team members and their well-being.”

The statement continued, “As a policy we do not comment on ongoing labor negotiations.”

Parker and Stone, who both grew up in Denver, were longtime fans of the hospitality establishment before they purchased it five years ago. Per Shields via CNN, the pair “have frequented the restaurant recently but have not attended one of the 14 bargaining sessions with Actors’ Equity.”

Are Love Island USA Stars Allowed to Have Phones? Villa Rule Explained

Published

on

Love Island USA

Love Island USA hinges on Islanders living together in a villa separate from the outside world — but what does that mean when it comes to phone usage?

Season 8, which premiered in summer 2026, showed phones on multiple occasions as Islanders received texts, participated in group votes and even took photos of each other. Viewers might be surprised to know, however, that the phones are provided to everyone once they arrive in Fiji.

The participants have to give away their real phones once they join the season. Their replacement devices are modified so they don’t have access to the internet, social media and can’t call anyone. They are able to use the devices only for photos and texts that they receive from producers

Love Island USA follows a group of singles who must pair off in order to stay in the show’s luxury villa. The contestants — referred to as Islanders — live in isolation in a villa under constant video surveillance. They must be coupled up to remain on the show and earn a shot at the $100,000 prize.

While the islanders are filming nonstop for weeks, viewers are watching daily episodes and casting votes that affect the couples and the fate of the contestants.

Before viewers tuned in, Peacock issued a message to remind the audience to be kind.

“The Villa runs on good vibes, and so does this community. We love seeing your reactions, opinions, and debates, but everyone deserves to feel safe and respected,” read their statement. “This is a space for fun, not negativity – so keep it kind, keep it positive, and remember: this is LOVE Island!”

Host Ariana Madix has also had to previously issue a message for those Love Island USA viewers who are taking things too far when expressing their frustrations with the show.

“I do want to say something to some of those people who are online,” she said during a June 2025 episode of Aftersun. “Don’t be contacting people’s families. Don’t be doxxing people.”

Peacock’s popular dating show returned in June 2026 with contestants Aniya Harvey, Beatriz Hatz, Bryce Alakai Dettloff, KC Chandler, Mackenzie “Kenzie” Annis, Melanie Moreno, Sincere Rhea, Sean Reifel, Trinity Tatum […]

Ariana questioned the behavior she saw on social media.

“Don’t be going on islanders’ pages and saying rude things. You still have time to delete all of that because the islanders don’t have their phones,” she noted. “So we are giving you a chance because this is a fun, amazing and beautiful show. We should be thanking each one of these islanders every single day for giving us themselves.”

New episodes of Love Island USA are released six days a week — except for Wednesdays — on Peacock.

By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Many casual Star Trek fans think that Vulcans don’t feel any emotions. That’s actually not true at all: in reality, these aliens experience the same tempest of emotional torment as human beings. They simply choose to suppress these emotions, ordering their lives around logic instead of passion. Nonetheless, those feelings are always there, just waiting to bubble to the surface. This was clear as early as the Star Trek: The Original Series episode “The Naked Time.” In this story, a trippy space virus makes everyone act drunk; for example, Sulu goes topless and starts carrying a sword around. Spock, meanwhile, has an emotional breakdown, crying over his inability to express how he feels.

It’s arguably the most emotional scene in Star Trek history, all thanks to the one character that almost never expresses emotions. However, in a truly shocking twist, this emotional scene almost didn’t appear in the episode. Originally, this was just going to be a joke scene where somebody painted a mustache on Spock. The only reason it was changed is that Leonard Nimoy spoke up, demanding a deeper scene for his character. The result is an unforgettable moment with the franchise’s most (to use his preferred terminology) fascinating character!

Spock Loses His Cool

The plot of “The Naked Time” is that members of the Starship Enterprise keep getting infected with this weird virus. It basically simulates the effects of intoxication, causing the crew to act out in wildly unpredictable ways. The most memorable is Sulu showing off his hot moves and hotter pecs as he drunkenly slashes his sword throughout the ship. Oh, and Kirk babbles like a wife guy, only he’s married to the Enterprise. In the midst of all this, Spock has a more unconventional reaction: an emotional breakdown. When Kirk finds him, the Vulcan is crying and lamenting everything from his friendship with the captain to his relationship with his mother.

With Kirk’s help, Spock snaps out of it and helps to save the day. Still, the scene is a powerful example that still waters run quite deep with this pointy-eared alien. Sure, he may act cool and logical and badmouth everyone else’s emotional reactions, but Spock has feelings just as intense (if not more so) than his human colleagues. In Leonard Nimoy’s autobiography, I Am Spock, he revealed that “The Naked Time” writer John D. F. Black originally wrote a goofy scene where someone paints a mustache on Spock. The actor didn’t like this scene, preferring something that preserved Spock’s dignity.

He Knows Why The Caged ‘Stache Cries

According to Nimoy, when he went to speak with Black, the writer blew him off because he was already working on a different script. So, the actor went over the writer’s head and spoke to franchise creator Gene Roddenberry. Roddenberry agreed with Nimoy and asked Black to write a new scene. When the writer asked what Nimoy wanted, the actor replied, “It’s about emotion versus logic, love versus mathematics, grief versus pi-r-squared.” While beautiful, this description is fairly vague. Fortunately, it was enough for Black, who went on to write the most emotional scene in Star Trek history.

There was just one problem: given the tight production schedule of this Star Trek: The Original Series episode, there was only time for one take. Fortunately, Leonard Nimoy only needed one take to bring this scene to wrenching, heartbreaking life. It was a scene that forever changed our understanding of the character and the franchise as a whole, one that made us consider the relationship between our own emotions and our sense of humanity. Now, though, you know the hilarious secret behind Trek’s most emotional scene: it only exists because Nimoy didn’t want Spock to have a wacky little mustache, even for just one scene!

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Jessie James Decker’s kids looked toned while soaking up the sun on vacation.

“American summers,” Jessie, 38, captioned a Sunday, July 5, Instagram carousel that included a photo of Vivianne, 12, Eric Jr., 10, and Forrest, 8, flashing their abs in swimwear. (Jessie and her former NFL star husband, Eric Decker, also share Denver, 2.)

The snap captured the trio wrapping their arms around each other as crashing waves and a blue sky painted a perfect backdrop. Additional images in the post also showed Jessie and her children goofing around with friends and showing off red, blue and white 4th of July costumes which included a second flash of Forrest’s abs as he lifted a basketball singlet up over his belly.

Eric, 39, also featured in several shots and a video, including one family portrait taken at sunset with the entire clan smiling for the camera while standing on a footpath.

Fans were quick to share praise for Jessie’s post, taking to the comments section with supportive messages. “I need their workout plan,” wrote one fan, while another wrote, “ABSSS-solutely beautiful!!!!!”

It’s not the first time Jessie has shared photos of her children’s washboard stomachs via social media. In January, the country singer marked the start of a new year with Instagram snaps shared from a tropical destination. “2026 here we come baby!! Here’s to fresh starts, full hearts, happy babies and beautiful memories to come,” she wrote on January 1. “My resolution is always health, happiness, and time well spent with the people who matter the most!!!”

The images included one of Vivianne, Eric Jr. and Forrest on yet another beach rocking their swimsuits while revealing their abs. Additional shots at the time captured the whole family enjoying time outdoors.

Again, fans commented on the kids’ impressive physiques. “Abs on Abs on Abs, God bless! Also, your family is beautiful. All the best for 2026!!” one follower wrote before another replied, “The abs on the Decker fam is CRAZYYYYY 😂💪.”

In 2022, after receiving backlash for sharing photos of her children’s abs, Jessie hit back at the haters during an interview with Fox News. “I feel like I know what a great mom I am, and I know my truth. So, it doesn’t bother me,” she told the outlet on December 30 that year, adding that she doesn’t “think too deep” about criticism and knows that it “comes with the territory [of being famous].”

Love Island USA Couple Secretly Had Sex in Communal Bedroom

Published

on

LOVE ISLAND USA

While having sex in the communal bedroom has become commonplace on this season of Love Island USA, there was still one couple who just reached that milestone for the first time.

During the Sunday, July 5, episode of the show, Trinity Tatum whispered to Kayda Bosse that she slept with Bryce Alakai Dettloff. She called it “good” after the couple previously made their relationship official in the villa.

Season 8 of Love Island USA has featured multiple moments where Islanders took things to the next level. Last month, Trinity said she heard someone performing “French fries,” which sounded “too wet” to just be a kiss. In a confessional, Kenzie Annis confirmed she shared a heated exchange with Corbin Mims.

“I was definitely getting some French fries. Feeling good,” she gushed. “We were probably doing a bit much honestly but I feel a strong connection with Corbin. We probably got a little bit carried away.”

Based on the footage, French fries hinted at manual sex acts such as a hand job. Viewers, meanwhile, pointed out that it likely meant an appetizer ahead of a full meal.

Love Island USA originally premiered in the U.K. in 2002 before it expanded worldwide with various spinoffs, including Love Island USA on Peacock. The series follows a different group of singles every season who have to pair off in order to stay in the show’s luxury villa.

The contestants — referred to as Islanders — live in isolation in a villa and are under constant video surveillance. They must be coupled up to remain on the show and stand a chance at receiving the $100,000 prize.

While finding a connection that you want to explore more intimately isn’t out of the question, season 7 of Love Island USA seemed to set some sort of record with the number of times Islanders were caught hooking up — until season 8.

From Hannah Fields and Pepe Garcia to Huda Mustafa and Jeremiah Brown, the reality stars found ways around having to address their sexual encounters for all of America to hear.

“We had a code name for intimacy,” Hannah exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2025. “We would say, ‘How was your journey? What was this journey like?’ Huda [started it when she] said something like, ‘Oh, I had a journey. My journey went all the way.’”

Season 8 escalated the sex that took place in the villa with multiple couples going all the way while sharing a bedroom in the villa. The potential has only escalated with Casa Amor being introduced halfway into Sunday’s episode.

Yellowstone's Beth and Rip Spinoff: What to Know

Shows in the Yellowstone franchise aren’t just set on ranches but filmed on them too — and some are owned by creator Taylor Sheridan.

After getting his start as an actor, Sheridan started writing scripts for movies and then moved on to the small screen with Yellowstone, which aired from 2018 to 2024. Sheridan expanded his TV universe with prequels 1883 and 1923 as well as the upcoming spinoffs The Dutton Ranch, The Madison and Y: Marshals.

Sheridan has also worked on original shows Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness and Tulsa King. This has allowed production to take place in various locations throughout the American West, including ranches. Cast members from Sheridan’s shows previously spoke exclusively to Us Weekly how joining the Yellowstone universe required participating in the show’s “cowboy camp.”

“It’s really helpful for learning to really become proficient on horses and use guns and the period piece weapons,” Brian Geraghty shared in 2022 before 1923’s premiere. “Then also it’s great for bonding for us as characters.”

Geraghty noted that training helped the actors become “more comfortable around each other,” adding, “[We] build each other up and become good. It’s beneficial for the actual skill set, but it’s also beneficial for the characters as how they relate to one another on the actual show.”

Michelle Randolph, for her part, said that she and her costars had “a lot of fun” at cowboy camp. “[There were] a lot of ice baths,” she quipped. “Group ice baths, and after, we were all very sore for a while.”

Darren Mann called the concept a “well-oiled machine.”

“Taylor puts together an amazing cast and crew,” he added. “Camaraderie on set was always so great.”

Amy Schumer Stuns in One-Piece on 4th of July After Weight Loss

Amy Schumer is celebrating the 4th of July in style after opening up about her weight loss journey.

“Epic fourth,” Schumer, 45, wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, July 5, while sharing a photo of her crew enjoying the patriotic holiday. “Just a group of 25 friends who have known each other for 35 years with their families. Love you all.”

In a separate snap, Schumer posed in a blue one-piece with matching blue shorts as she placed her arms around her pals outside.

“Thanks @chloeiscrazy and @mother for my suit!” she captioned the Instagram Story, referring to Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman.

Schumer has been candid about her health journey through the years, sharing in December 2025 that she lost 50 pounds as a way to “survive” her battle with Cushing syndrome. (The condition occurs when the body has too much cortisol for a long period of time and can cause puffiness in the face.)

“So I got these was getting these steroid injections and so it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome — which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard,” Schumer explained during a January episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I learned I had this condition, and that I had something called moon face, and I’m starring in a movie — and there’s a camera right in my face.”

The comedian, who is the mom of son Gene, has also been open about her experience trying Mounjaro. The GLP-1 drug is similar to Ozempic, which is used to treat weight-loss related issues. (Schumer welcomed Gene in 2019 with estranged husband Chris Fischer. She filed for divorce from Fischer in January, one month after sharing their separation.)

“Three years ago, I tried Wegovy,” she said in a 2025 Instagram video. “I was puking, I couldn’t handle it. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula, whatever. But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself ‘cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.”

“They put me on estrogen and progesterone because I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being perimenopause have disappeared,” she continued. “My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex. So that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great.”

Schumer went on to note that the drug is “not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have.”

She concluded, “But I’m having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that. Midi Health. I liked it so much and I had such a good experience [that] I invested in the company.”
