I’m Spending 2 Weeks in Portugal — Here’s Everything I’m Packing

If you’ve ever packed for vacation and wished you had allowed more time to plan your outfit lineup — welcome to the club. Even as a shopping editor who has a pulse on the top fashion trends, I struggle to strategize my vacation outfits. This year, however, is going to be different as I’m honeymooning in Portugal for two weeks. I’m allowing ample time to shop, plan a lineup of incredibly chic outfits and pack for my European vacay.
Below, I rounded up everything I bought for easy packing — and it’s all going inside a carry-on suitcase and a small personal item! My list includes a comfy loungewear set for travel days, day-to-night dresses, functional handbags, beyond-comfortable walking shoes and clever luggage to keep everything organized. Whether you’re headed on a European vacation or you’re spending a week somewhere stateside, use my list below as inspiration for how to pack for vacation without sacrificing a chic outfit lineup.
Everything I’m Packing for My Portugal Vacation
Clothing
1. Airport ‘Fit: First things first: I’m packing this European-looking matching set for long travel days. The loose top and wide-leg pants make it feel like pajamas, yet I’ll still look dressed up enough for daytime activities once we land.
2. Timelessly Chic: Not only is a loose and airy blouse a smart pick for vacation — but it’s also versatile, instantly dressing up shorts, jeans or a skirt. Plus, it never feels drab or boring. It gives a timeless polish to anything you pair with it, which is a real win considering you can rely on this outfit combo time after time.
3. Everyday Winner: I’m a sucker for an athletic dress with built-in shorts. This tennis-style pick comes in over a dozen colors, and it easily beats wearing shorts and a tee. I plan on wearing this baby on days where we’re exploring the streets and beaches of Portugal for 6 hours straight.
4. Day-to-Night: There’s just something about a brown maxi dress with white polka dots that screams ‘winery day’ to me. And that’s exactly when I plan to wear this chic number as I explore Porto’s wine region.
5. Flattering Sundress: There’s no such thing as packing too many dresses for vacation. In fact, it’s the smartest outfit you can pack — especially when it’s this 100% cotton navy gingham dress. Wear it with sneakers for exploring the city, then switch into wedges for dinner.
6. Not Jean Shorts: For summer 2026, jean shorts are out, and loose, elastic-waist styles are in. I’m packing these chambray shorts from Quince to pair with blouses, sweaters and casual tees. Plus, they’re not restricting, meaning you can comfortably walk 10,000+ steps in Europe without constantly tugging and pulling them down.
7. Double Duty: Not only do these loose, linen-blend pants nail chic coastal style, they also pull double duty as a day pant and swimsuit coverup. For daytime outings, I’ll style them with a one-piece swimsuit and sandals. For the evening, I’ll dress them up with a loose tank and wedges.
8. Florals, Please: When you’re beach hopping and quite literally spending all day in the same clothes, a one-piece swimsuit is the way to go. This flattering number is adorned with pink and orange flowers, giving it a coastal feel. Throwing on flowy pants instantly makes it read polished, not pool deck (which is perfect for spontaneous lunch plans!).
Shoes
9. True Slip-ons: Hands down, the only 100% slip-on shoe I’ve ever tried are Kizik sneakers. The patented hands-free heel is specifically designed to be more flexible, allowing you to gently slip them on without using your hands. I can’t recommend them enough for logging miles on vacation and breezing through TSA.
10. Celeb-Approved: The one and only Katie Holmes wears Vivaia Mary Janes, and it’s easy to see why. Lightweight and comfortable, the dainty shoe is equal parts chic and functional. Wear them with a sundress or sandals; the choice is yours!
11. Walking Sandals: Few (and I mean few) sandals are designed for long days of walking, but Vivaia walker sandals get the job done. The arch support technology and cushioned insole cradle feet in comfort, which is especially important on European vacations where you’re stuck in the same shoes for 10+ hours.
Bags & Accessories
12. Clever Compartments: When it comes to picking a personal item, always, always look for a bag with sneaky shoe storage, like the Luka Duffle from Calpak. I can fit two pairs of shoes into the bottom compartment, and there’s still enough room in the main compartment for a book or tablet, snacks, toiletries — you name it.
13. Chic Crossbody: Full transparency, I picked this canvas crossbody entirely for its chic appearance (I mean, doesn’t it just scream ‘European vacation’?!). Secure zipper compartments and a magnetic closure keep cards, lip balm, and my phone secure and organized. It’s not a true anti-theft bag, so it’s not what the pros will recommend traveling with — but it’s cute and convenient nonetheless.
14. Packable Sunhat: A scalp burn on vacation is the absolute worst, so I’m packing this foldable sunhat with UV protection. It’s way more chic than your average baseball cap!

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wrote Own Vows for MSG Wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated, star-studded wedding ceremony somehow managed to feel like an extremely personal affair.
“It really was intimate,” broadcaster Robin Roberts revealed after attending the couple’s Friday, July 3, ceremony during an episode of Good Morning America the next day.
Roberts’ co-anchor George Stephanopoulos concurred, noting that NYC’s famed Madison Square Garden was transformed into “a garden inside the Garden.”
“It was just so beautiful,” Stephanopoulos, 65, said on Friday. “It’s hard to imagine that a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal and so intimate.”
Part of what made the nuptials so special, according to the co-anchors, were the newlyweds’ deeply emotional vows.
“Oh, their vows,” Roberts, 65, gushed on the broadcast. “They wrote their own vows.”
Stephanopoulos chimed in, noting that the duo read their heartfelt messages aloud from “little books.” He previously told ABC News in a statement after the ceremony that Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot in a “moving” ceremony.
“Vows: everything you would hope for, real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving,” reporter Sophie Flay read Stephanopoulos’ statement aloud on a Friday broadcast. “Who knew that a wedding in Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?”
Swift and Kelce reportedly each spoke for roughly 20 minutes.
“Then, the vows. Long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity,” AMC CEO Adam Aron wrote in a since-deleted X recap of the newlywed’s big day, per Entertainment Weekly. “[They shared] the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families (Kelce’s and Swift’s) as one, and committing to their new mutual life together.”
Swift and Kelce’s wedding was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler, whom Stephanopoulos noting to ABC was “funny and touching.”
The bride and groom, each clad in bespoke Christian Dior Haute Couture, were joined at the altar by their two brothers in lieu of a traditional bridal party.
“Her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s ‘Man of Honor’ and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man,” a statement from Taylor’s rep read. “The ceremony joined both families together.”
Taylor and Austin are the two children of Scott and Andrea Swift, while Travis and Jason, 38, are the sons of exes Donna Kelce and Ed Kelce.
“I really can’t say a heck of a lot,” Donna told Macy’s social media team while attending the 50th Macy’s 4th of July fireworks display in New York City the next day. “It was magical, man, magical.”

These Mediterranean-Style Amazon Dresses Scream ‘Saint-Tropez’
1. Our Favorite: With a tile-like blue and white print, this midi dress becomes the highlight of your outfit. Even worn without accessories, it could be a postcard from Positano.
2. Luxe Lemons: Wear this lemon-print mini to a rooftop dinner and watch three people ask where you got it. It pairs perfectly with woven flats.
3. Puff-Sleeve Princess: Sleeveless dresses aren’t for everyone. This puff-sleeve maxi offers coverage that still feels romantic and light.
4. Miss Sunshine: Saturated yellow is a bold move, but this buttery maxi dress gets the shade right. More marigold than highlighter, it flatters warm and cool skin tones alike.
5. Beach Day: Slide on this tank-style maxi dress straight out of the water for lunch at the marina. It dries fast and doesn’t wrinkle in your beach bag.
6. Boho Babe: Drapey, frilly and genuinely flowy, this boho find moves with you instead of hanging flat. The fabric catches the breeze in all the right ways.
7. Real Deal: Smocking ensures this square-neck number has real structure, and the pink print keeps it from feeling bridal. Talk about a box-checker!
8. Rich Alert: If quiet luxury is your vibe, this soft-hued maxi dress does the trick. It’s the definition of expensive-looking.
9. Wrapped Up: This wrap-style pick cinches exactly where you want and drapes where you don’t, flattering more body types than any other cut.
10. Cute Cottagecore: Tiers add volume without weight, so this pretty yellow sundress swishes instead of sags. We adore the bright yellow color that reads happy, not neon.
11. Seriously Elegant: Skip the formal dress you’ll only wear once, because this pink floral maxi works for baby showers, weddings and summer brunches alike.
12. Everyday Outfit: Grab this knee-length dress for errands, iced coffee runs and appointments that turn into date nights. It goes with any sandals you own.
13. Super Splurge-Worthy: If you’re willing to invest a little, this A-line maxi dress keeps you looking chic for years to come. Scalloped hems are our favorite feature.
14. Cool Mom: Anthropologie prices add up fast. Thankfully, this summery lookalike captures the same boho polish for $40.
15. Elevated Tee: This casual dress avoids the sack look that sometimes comes with T-shirt silhouettes, thanks to the clean, classy cut. Shoppers stock up in multiple colors.
16. Comfy-Chic: Spandex-blend fabric guarantees stretch. This comfy mini feels like loungewear, yet appears so put together.
17. Fun Flutter Sleeves: When you want a little extra coverage, this flutter-sleeve maxi dress hits the note. It even has pockets for your chapstick and phone.

Will Jesse Eisenberg Leave the U.S. Because of Donald Trump?
Jesse Eisenberg is making it clear that he is not allowing politics to dictate his place of residence.
“I am a very lucky American,” the actor and director, 42, told the crowd at this year’s 60th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, held in the Czech Republic, where he received the President’s Award, after he was asked if he had a “responsibility” to stay in New York City amid President Donald Trump’s second term.
“I have a nice life,” he continued. “My wife is a teacher, and she teaches a lot of students who are not as lucky as we are. I think we feel, if anything, a responsibility to stay in New York and help those who are struggling through a tougher period in American history.”
He added, “No, I’m not going to leave because I don’t like the politics of America. That seems a little silly, because my life is very good.“
Eisenberg made headlines in 2024, when he applied for dual U.S.-Polish citizenship among a contentious presidential election between then-president Joe Biden and Trump, who ultimately won both the popular and electoral vote.

“I applied for Polish citizenship about nine months ago. Apparently, all the paperwork has already been submitted and I’m waiting for the final signature,” Eisenberg told local media outlet Glos Wielkpolski at the time. “My family is from the south-east of Polan, from Krasnystaw. My wife’s family is from Lódź. We wanted to have a better bond with Poland, and I would like to work here more.”
According to the director, who is married to Anna Strout, his experience directing and starring in his award-winning 2024 film A Real Pain contributed to his desire to apply for dual-citizenship, explaining he essentially wanted to “repeat” the transformative process when working on future projects.
“I feel a bond with Poland,” he added at the time. “Growing up, I heard stories about Polish relationships with my Jewish family, and all of those stories were wonderful. We were best friends with Poles.”
While Eisenberg has no plans to leave the U.S. due to the country’s contentious political climate, plenty of celebrities have decided to relocate across the pond in the wake of Trump’s second presidential term.
“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of tests from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in,’” Ellen DeGeneres told English broadcaster Richard Bacon of her decision to move to the U.K. with her wife, Portia de Rossi, in 2024. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.’”
Rosie O’Donnell, who also relocated overseas in the midst of Trump’s election win, exclusively told Us Weekly the she was surprised by her former daytime TV talk show host’s decision to leave the U.S. for political reasons.
“I’ve never really known Ellen to say anything political in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump. Like, that shocked me, actually,” O’Donnell told Us. “I’ve been a political person my whole life, not better or worse, it’s just a different way to be in teh world. I was very clear about the reason why I was leaving, and I don’t think it came as a surprise to anyone.”
She continued at the time, “We’re not really in each other’s worlds, and it’s been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best. I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK.”

Patrick Mahomes Shares BTS Photos From Taylor Swift’s Wedding
Patrick Mahomes is giving fans a closer look at his whirlwind trip to New York City for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s star-studded wedding. Just days after attending the lavish Madison Square Garden ceremony alongside his wife, Brittany Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared a collection of photos from their time in the Big Apple, offering a glimpse into the glamorous wedding weekend. The photo dump featured several stylish snapshots of the couple before they quickly returned home to Kansas City to celebrate the Fourth of July with their children.

Among the images shared by the three-time Super Bowl champion were several photos of himself and Brittany dressed up for a night out in New York City.
The first few photos appeared to have been taken before Swift and Kelce’s wedding, with Brittany wearing a light blue dress paired with a sparkling silver necklace while Patrick sported a tuxedo and sunglasses. One image showed the couple embracing, while another captured them sitting together in the back of a taxi, seemingly on their way to an event in Manhattan.
Mahomes also included photos of Brittany spending time with friends, along with a candid shot of himself photographing the group during their evening out. Additional images featured the quarterback in a sharp double-breasted suit, while Brittany wore an olive-colored dress paired with gold heels.
The Mahomeses Were Among Hundreds Of Guests At The Wedding
Patrick and Brittany were among an estimated 1,000 guests who attended Swift and Kelce’s extravagant wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden. The ceremony brought together celebrities, athletes, musicians, and close friends of the couple for one of the most talked-about weddings of the year.
Swift wore a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding gown designed by Jonathan Anderson, while Kelce opted for a bespoke Dior tuxedo.
The venue itself was transformed into an elaborate garden-inspired setting featuring towering trees, lush greenery, dramatic drapery, and custom décor created specifically for the occasion.
As one of Kelce’s closest friends and longtime teammates, Mahomes was expected to be among the guests celebrating the couple’s big day.
Patrick And Brittany Mahomes Returned Home Just In Time For The Fourth Of July

Following the wedding festivities, the Mahomes family wasted little time heading back to Missouri. Brittany later shared photos and videos on social media showing Patrick celebrating Independence Day at home with their children.
The quarterback could be seen treating the family to a backyard fireworks display less than 24 hours after attending one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings in recent memory.
Patrick Mahomes And Brittany Have Grown Close To Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift
Patrick and Brittany have become close friends with Kelce and Swift since the singer and NFL star began dating in 2023. The friendship has frequently been on display at Chiefs games, public outings, and various events over the past two years.
The Mahomeses weren’t the only members of the Chiefs organization in attendance at the wedding. Team owner Clark Hunt and members of his family, head coach Andy Reid, and numerous Chiefs players were also reportedly present for the celebration.
One notable absence, however, was kicker Harrison Butker. According to reports, Butker, who drew significant criticism in 2024 following a commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas, where comments about women, abortion, and the LGBTQ+ community sparked widespread backlash, was not invited to the wedding despite having played alongside Kelce since 2017.
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Guests Also Enjoyed An Over-The-Top Reception

While Patrick Mahomes’ latest photos offered a glimpse into the wedding weekend, fans have continued to search for details about what happened at Swift and Kelce’s lavish reception.
According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, guests were invited into the reception space by Taylor’s mother following the ceremony, where a stage had been set up for special performances from music legends Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks.
The celebration reportedly featured an impressive selection of food and drinks as attendees mingled throughout the transformed Madison Square Garden venue. The insider revealed that guests had access to multiple food stations serving Italian cuisine and sushi, while servers circulated with trays of additional bites throughout the evening. “There were bars everywhere,” the source also shared.
Between the star-studded guest list, surprise musical performances, and seemingly endless food and drinks, Swift and Kelce’s reception appeared to be just as extravagant as the fairytale ceremony itself.

10 Years Later, Denzel Washington’s Oscar-Winning Masterpiece Finds a New Streaming Home
25 years ago, the standard for 21st-century acting performances was set by Hollywood icon Denzel Washington. Following his Best Supporting Actor win over a decade prior for 1989’s Glory, Washington delivered perhaps his career-defining turn as corrupt LAPD Detective Alonzo Harris in Training Day. This would mark his second Oscar win to date, among ten total nominations, making him one of the most decorated actors in Academy history.
Of his many Oscar nominations, it’s difficult to pick a standout. However, the New York-born actor has only earned two nominations for a single movie once, earning an acting nomination and Best Picture nomination as star, director, and co-producer of 2016’s Fences. A passion project for Washington, many years in the making, the film was based on August Wilson‘s 1985 play of the same name. In a 1987 Broadway run, the play boasted the voice of Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones, as the patriarch of the Maxson family, Troy.
Fences was nominated for a total of four Academy Awards, including the aforementioned pair for Washington and a Best Adapted Screenplay nod for Wilson. However, its shining moment on Oscars night came in a win for Washington’s co-star Viola Davis, who took home the Best Supporting Actress prize in one of the best wins in the category of the past decade. Fences was also a quiet hit at the box office, turning in a respectable global haul of $64.2 million against a reported production budget of $24 million. If you’d love to sample the best film Washington has directed, then you’re in luck, as it just debuted on a new streamer. Right now, you can watch Fences on Paramount+, where it joins a stacked lineup of other award-winning projects.
What Is Denzel Washington Making Next?
As one of Hollywood’s greatest actors, Washington is never short of demand. Following his scene-stealing role in the eventually underwhelming Gladiator II and starring turn in the hugely underrated Spike Lee joint Highest 2 Lowest, Washington’s next project will see him feature opposite two of Hollywood’s brightest stars in Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson and Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones. A heist thriller described as “unconventional,” the trio will headline the upcoming Netflix project, Here Comes the Flood, scheduled to debut sometime this year.
Fences is streaming now on Paramount+. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for the latest streaming updates.

Does Lisa B. Think Jen Shah Should Return To ‘RHOSLC’?
Beloved reality star Lisa Barlow recently spoke about her former “RHOSLC” co-star, Jen Shah, and shared her view on whether it would be a “good thing” for the TV personality-turned-convicted felon to return to the series. In the episode, Barlow also discussed whether any of the current cast members have a relationship with Shah, who departed the series after season 3 concluded in February 2023.
On the “Therapuss” podcast with Jake Shane, Barlow said she’s unsure if it would be a “good thing” for Shah to make a “RHOSLC” comeback.
Speaking with the actor and internet personality, Barlow added that she wants what’s best for Shah but didn’t say whether being part of a future season of “RHOSLC” was the best thing for her.
“I think that’s important [that she’s happy]. I think she’s really sorry. She did restitution, and she’s paying for her mistake,” she said.
Does Anyone From The ‘RHOSLC’ Cast Have A Deep Friendship With Shah?
Regarding the castmates’ relationship with Shah, who was released from prison in December 2025, Barlow said she doesn’t believe any of them have a particularly deep relationship with her.
“I think she talks to Meredith [Marks] every now and then,” Barlow revealed. “She’ll call Meredith randomly, or Meredith will check in with her. But I don’t think anyone has a deep friendship with her.”
For those who may be unfamiliar, Shah was arrested in March 2021 and charged with several felonies, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. She was sentenced to 78 months in prison in January 2023.
Shah Was Arrested On An Episode Of ‘RHOSLC’
Shah’s arrest was shown in the second season of “RHOSLC.” According to Barlow, the moment was “wild.”
In addition to Barlow, other SLC cast members were present, including Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, who knew something ominous was occurring when the FBI and Homeland Security arrived.
“I remember sitting in the van … Her energy was really off. And then when she got that phone call and was like, ‘I have to leave,’ we’re like, ‘OK, what’s going on?’ Nobody would have ever in a million years felt like Homeland Security, the FBI, NYPD was going to show up,” Barlow said.
Regardless, Barlow only had positive things to say about her former “RHOSLC” castmate during her interview with Shane.
“I think that Jen has a lot of charisma and she’s really funny. And when you get her on a great day, she’s the most fun person ever,” she said. “She’s crazy, but she’s so funny. She has this charisma about her, and it’s really natural.”
Shah Broke Her Silence About Her Crimes After Her Release From Prison
In April 2026, Shah spoke with PEOPLE in her first interview since being released from federal prison. Reflecting on the fraud scheme that impacted elderly and vulnerable victims, she admitted she was “wrong” and acknowledged the harm her crimes caused.
“I made wrong decisions. I should have done things differently. I should have been more diligent. And I’m deeply remorseful and sorry for my actions and for my part. I take full responsibility,” she added.
Shah said that before going to prison, it was hard for her to truly acknowledge her wrongdoings. It wasn’t until she heard the victim’s statements in court that she began singing a different tune.
“It was like a train hit,” she said. “That was the first time I saw all of it — the communications, the interviews, the witnesses.”
Shah went on to say that she then realized “there were people who were hurt.” She added, “That there were actual victims as a result of this conspiracy. I had never seen anything with my own eyes. That changed things for me.”
Shah Responds To Andy Cohen Saying He ‘Never’ Wants To See Her Again
🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Jen Shah will be released from prison on Dec. 10, according to People #RHOSLC pic.twitter.com/i8pK8MH6DL
— Queens of Bravo (@queensofbravo) November 21, 2025
According to a previous report from The Blast, Shah also responded to Andy Cohen‘s earlier statement that he “never” wanted to see the outspoken reality star again.
Shah implied that she wasn’t bothered by his comments, adding, “Andy has a right to his opinion.”
She went on to say, “And without me being able to talk to him or without me being able to even speak at the time at all, people rightly so made their own judgments and had their own comments.”

Diddy Trends Amid Donald Trump’s Latest Pardon Reports
Whew, Roomies! Diddy’s name is back in the mix of high-level political chatter as President Trump reportedly weighs a new wave of potential clemency decisions. And you already know the internet is talking! While Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly a part of closed-door discussions, broader pardon talks continue to fuel widespread speculation as Washington buzzes.

Here’s What We Know About The Pardon Talks
News broke this past week that President Donald Trump pardoned 11 people on Friday. Those affected include nine individuals convicted of violating a federal air pollution law, according to a White House official. The latest move adds to a growing list of clemency actions in his second term, with prior pardons reportedly going to allies and high-profile figures he has described as unfairly targeted by previous administrations.
As for Sean “Diddy” Combs, his name has been circulating in broader clemency chatter after reports surfaced that his case has been loosely mentioned in ongoing discussions, even though sources say he is not expected to be on the official recommendation list at this time. Advisers reportedly met Friday to review additional pardon recommendations, but they have not made any final decisions regarding any celebrity-linked cases.
Latest Update On Diddy’s Sentence & Status
As for Diddy, the music mogul is currently serving a sentence of just over four years at the federal prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. A jury previously acquitted him of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. According to reports, Trump has not made any final decision regarding clemency and has even stated in the past that while Combs did submit a request for a pardon, it was not under consideration at the time.
The Internet Can’t Handle This
As news of the situation hit the timeline, X was all over the place with reactions flying in every direction. Some users said it “makes sense,” while others were simply caught off guard as the conversation heated up. Of course, you already know folks started spinning up wild scenarios about what would actually happen if it all goes through, turning the topic into full-on internet chaos.

Why Are People Acting Surprised?
I told all of you since his 1st arrest that he was not the focus of the investigation. They wanted to get information out of him. He was the subject not the objective. So please know this “pardon” came with conditions he most likely met in… https://t.co/M5Ew5vbjJ5

I don’t think Trump would waste a pardon on an individual that will make him regret it. If Diddy comes out before he’s served his full sentence, he will be worse than before.

Farscape Breakout Stars Showed Off Their Hidden Talents On Screen
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

By the time most actors show up on screen they have already spent a lifetime working in entertainment. There are levels talent and creativity on any set that the audience never gets to see. Musical theater, gymnastics, dancing, martial arts, the list goes on and on, which is why it’s always cool when they get to show off with the cameras rolling. Farscape found time for its cast to work in their real-life talents into their characters giving us great moments on-screen, and a celebration of the raw talent on display behind the scenes.
Chiana’s Fire Dance

Gigi Edgley played Chiana in what was supposed to be a one-off appearance in Season 1. She did such a great job as the cat-like alien that the writers changed their plans and she became a part of the main cast, and eventually, the face of the series. Chiana showed off a lot of hidden talents over the course of her time on the Moya, but one came directly from Gigi’s performance background. Season 3, Episode 13, “Stratch’n’Sniff,” during their time on a pleasure planet Chiana and Jool have a bet about who can entertain a crowd the best. Jool does a flip, Chiana dances with firesticks.
The moment was written in after Gigi was spotted twirling fire off set. Turns out, she’s a talented flow artist, having picked up the skill from the circus. Her family has been in the circus business since the 1930s and the Edgley’s are credited for bringing the Moscow State Circus to Australia. It wasn’t only Chiana who constantly surprised the crew of the Moya with her talents, it was Gigi Edgley surprising the cast and crew of Farscape with hers.
Scorpius Rocks Out

Scorpius is one of the greatest villains in sci-fi history. His distinctive black leather outfit and haunting, whispered threats made him an immediate hit from the first moment he appeared in the hidden Peacekeeper base. Wayne Pygram, like Gigi Edgley, was never intended to be part of Farscape’s main cast. Fortunately, he was the perfect man for the role and turned Scorpius into the recurring archenemy of John Crichton. He did so good, that the producers decided they needed a way to keep Scorpius as a threat without watering him down.
That led to the creation of Harvey, a part of Scorpius inside Crichton’s head. Harvey appeared wearing a Hawaiian shirt and was again, an immediate hit. Season 2’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” features multiple Harvey/Scorpius avatars, including one playing the drums. Wayne Pygram didn’t need a stunt double for that as he’s an accomplished drummer in real life. He taught percussion to students at high schools in Australia, and alongside his Farscape co-star Anthony Simcoe (Ka D’argo), played in the band Signal Room.
Farscape is filled with talented performers, including the puppeteers who brought Pilot and Rygel to life in every episode Virginia Hey didn’t only play Zhaan as a spiritual guide, she’s one in real life, and has spent decades leading spiritual wellness retreats and seminars. The success of the small Australian sci-fi series makes sense once you see the incredible talent responsible for giving us one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time.

New Netflix Movies in July 2026 — Here Are My Top 3 Picks to Stream
With a slew of new movies and TV shows lined up as well as several notable classics scheduled to drop throughout the month, July is probably Netflix’s best month yet.
OK, I say that every month, but I really mean it this time.
In addition to such highly anticipated shows like the Little House on the Prairie reboot and Ransom Canyon season 2, the streamer has slated some great movies for you to watch in July.
You can stream the Ben Affleck thriller Gone Girl right now, but if you’re watching it with a romantic partner, be prepared for some awkward conversations after it ends.
Watch With Us also recommends two 2025 films making their Netflix debuts: the Oscar-winning drama Hamnet with Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley and Joe Alwyn and the French murder mystery A Private Life with Jodie Foster.
‘Gone Girl’ (2014) – Now Streaming

Nick and Amy Dunne (Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike) have a picture-perfect marriage, which is why it’s so devastating to those around them when Amy suddenly disappears one day. Their families and friends are heartbroken, but Nick, oddly, isn’t – he doesn’t cry and doesn’t seem as upset as she should be. Suspicions quickly arise – why is Nick so calm? Did he have something to do with Amy’s disappearance? And why did Amy keep a diary exposing her fears that Nick might kill her?
If you don’t know Gone Girl’s twist, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. And if you do, you know the movie is even more rewatchable on the second, third and fourth go-around. Directed by David Fincher, Gone Girl starts as a standard crime mystery that turns into something more: a portrait of a toxic marriage, an exposé of our need to believe in the fantasy of love rather than its reality and a damning chronicle about the unrealistic expectations men place on women to be perfect. All that sounds heavy, but the genius of the film is how entertaining and morbidly funny it turns out to be – and how great Pike is starring as a woman who knows exactly what she wants – and gets it.
‘Hamnet’ (2025) – July 6

In 1590s London, William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) is working hard on his next play when the bubonic plague strikes. It quickly spreads to the countryside and claims the life of his young son, Hamnet (Jacobi Jupe). Will is distraught, but his wife, Agnes (Jessie Buckley), is inconsolable. While time passes and Will continues to develop his next play, Agnes remains in the countryside, still dealing with her grief that only seems to grow the more she thinks about her dead son.
A critical and commercial hit last year, Hamnet is a moving drama about how death impacts the living and how the loss of a loved one can inspire different kinds of rebirth. Will deals with his grief by burying himself in his work. Agnes has no career to turn to, so she turns inward to deal with Hamnet’s death and what that means for her marriage going forward. Buckley won a Best Actress Oscar for her devastating performance, and her scene at the end, when she finally comes to terms with her loss, is one for the ages.
‘A Private Life’ (2025) – July 29

Dr. Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster) is going through a lot right now. One of her patients, Paula (Virginie Efira), just killed herself, and her personal life is in shambles. After attending Paula’s funeral, Lilian listens to one of their last sessions, when she confesses her suspicions that her daughter, Valerie (Luana Bajrami), is plotting to kill her. Was Paula right? It certainly seems like Valerie’s father, Simon (Mathieu Amalric), is hiding some secrets, but is he covering for his daughter or hiding evidence that he caused his wife’s death?
A Private Life is an old-school mystery grounded more in character development than in outrageous plot twists. While the mystery is indeed intriguing, what’s more interesting is to observe Lilian evolve as a character throughout the movie. She starts as a mess, but gradually gets her act together when she discovers she’s the only one who can find out who killed Paula and why. Foster doesn’t act much, so it’s always a gift when she does, and A Private Life is one of her most entertaining movies in decades.

Abigail Anderson, Laura Kruk Twin at Taylor Swift Wedding
Two of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding guests donned the same gown for the glitzy white-veiled occasion.
Swift’s childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard, rocked a Sau Lee gown to the Friday, July 3, nuptials. The frock features a corset bodice embroidered with flowers and a silky brown skirt.
Anderson Berard wasn’t the only attendee to wear the Sau Lee ensemble. Laura Kruk, who is engaged to Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster, donned the same gown.
While neither Anderson Berard nor Kruk addressed the twinning moment, retailer Anthropologie couldn’t resist chiming in.
“Yes… these are the wedding guest dresses everyone’s talking about. 😉✨,” a Saturday, July 4, post on the Anthropologie Weddings account read, alongside a model wearing the same frock. “Shop the SAU LEE Frances Corset Gown and the De La Vali Mayara Maxi Dress at the link in our bio.”
Anderson Berard and Kruk were both present as Swift and Kelce, both 36, said “I do” at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden arena on Friday.
“The best night celebrating T&T,” Kruk gushed via Instagram Stories the next day, adding that she had a “hot date forever” in Smith-Schuster, 29, by her side.
Anderson Berard, for her part, hasn’t shared any insight into Swift’s big day. They have been close friends since high school.
“We were the ones in the back of the class saying negative things about Romeo and Juliet because we were so bitter toward that emotion at the time,” Anderson Berard recalled of her friendship with Swift during a 2008 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “We just really connected and ever since then we have been inseparable.”
Swift even name-dropped her bestie on her songs “Fifteen” and “Ruin the Friendship.”
“I used to write about high school all the time. I haven’t written about it in a very long time, but sometimes I will,” the Grammy winner explained in a “Ruin the Friendship” explanation video shared in October 2025. “I love to kind of go back to that moment. Now that I’ve had years that have passed since that experience, I was having a very specific thought of, ‘You just think that everything is so intense and everything will ruin everything if you put one foot out of line.’”
