The Blast caught up to Jessi Draper of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and Marciano from “Vanderpump Villa” on the red carpet of the American Music Awards on Monday, May 25. Jessi had a lot to share with The Blast, from one misconception about the reality show that she wanted to clear up on her divorce from Jordan Ngatikaura.

The Blast asked the reality star, “What’s one misconception that you feel fans have about Mormon wives that you would like to clear up?” and Jessi didn’t miss a beat when she replied, “That we’re all drama.”

“You guys see that part of us online on the show, but we actually have so many light-hearted and fun, funny moments as friends, and I wish you saw more of that,” she replied with a laugh.

When asked about how her divorce from Jordan Ngatikaura was going, Jessi replied, “Oh, divorce is divorce,” giving her fans yet another relatable answer!

“I don’t think it’s ever going well, but I do think that the first year is the hardest,” she said. “I’m just hoping to get through like the filing of it, the finalization, all the ups and downs, but I still love and respect my ex.

“Like he’s the father of my children,” she added. “I just hope that it can be that way in the long run.”

Admittedly, we know that Jessi can’t say too much about the new season of “The Mormon Wives,” but we asked her for any juicy details that she was willing to spill!

“It’s unlike any season you’ve seen before,” she teased.

“I think the unique thing about this season is you guys saw so many headlines, and now you’re going to see the behind-the-scenes of the headline, how we got there, how it fell apart,” she added. “So I think you guys will be interested.”

We definitely are interested!

Jessi Draper Broke Her Silence On The Divorce In March

On March 25, “The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives” star appeared on an episode of Call Her Daddy and spoke to host Alex Cooper about her divorce. The episode aired one week after Ngatikaura filed for divorce from Draper on March 19.

She said she realized that things had to end during a relationship with her “energy healer,” who asked her, “Are you safe?”

“I told her everything, and it was the first time I said it out loud, and that was like the moment also that I was like, ‘I have to leave him,’” Jessi said. “She goes, ‘Jessi, this is emotional abuse,’ and … it didn’t click to me until in that moment.”

Admitting “marriage is hard,” she said that she “justified” the issues as “Jordan’s personality.” However, once she heard the term “emotional abuse,” she felt more comfortable opening up to her friends and family about her marriage.

“They were like, ‘Jessi, this isn’t normal.’ It felt like the glass had shattered,” Draper told Cooper.

The Couple Previously Went To Therapy Ahead Of Their Divorce

A week before their divorce, Jessi told PEOPLE magazine that they were still “going to a lot of therapy” to work out their marital issues. “It’s taught us both a lot about how we are as individuals and how we are in a relationship, and it’s just kind of still a work in progress,” she said at the time.

“I just wanted to share that because I know marriage is hard, relationships are hard, and it’s normal to struggle,” she continued. “Even in a good relationship, you’re gonna have ups and downs. So I just think it’s good to show people that it’s worth fighting for, it’s worth working through and it’s something that’s always a work in progress.”

3 Prime Video Shows Officially Worth Binge-Watching This Week

Published

on

image001-2.jpg

Louisa Levy’s Off Campus continues its run at the top of Prime Video’s TV rankings this week, winning even more hearts with its “fake” relationship story adapted from Elle Kennedy’s book series. Starring Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli as lead characters Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, the show has earned acclaim from critics and fans alike, becoming a new genre favorite for many. But in case that’s not quite your cup of tea, the platform still has a ton of other entertaining series you could check out right now. Here’s a look at three great shows that we think you should binge on Prime Video this week.

For more recommendations, check out our list of the best shows and movies on Prime Video.

1

‘Kevin’ (2026)

An adult-animated comedy series, Kevin was created by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert and follows the titular house cat, whose life takes an unexpected turn when his humans break up. Arriving at a local pet rescue in Astoria, Queens, Kevin embarks on a journey of self-discovery with the help of his new, eccentric friends, leading to hilarious situations. Jason Schwartzman leads the star-studded voice cast as Kevin, with Plaza, Whoopi Goldberg, John Waters, Aparna Nancherla, Gil Ozeri, Carey Elwes, Amy Sedaris, and more voicing supporting characters.

Since its premiere on April 20, Kevin has had a mixed but generally favorable critical reception, and while the jokes may not all land on their feet, it’s an entertainingly weird sitcom that gets surprisingly sweet, even though it’s mostly filled with gross-out body humor. The show is not for everyone, but it is an enjoyable watch for pet parents and fans of Aubrey Plaza’s signature style of comedy. Add in the excellent performances by its ensemble voice cast, and you get one of the most engaging (if underrated) new comedies of the year.

Your Hero Has Been Identified
Your Sci-Fi Hero Is…
Advertisement

Your answers point to the iconic sci-fi hero who shares your instincts, your values, and your particular way of facing the impossible.

Arrakis · Dune

Paul Atreides

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

  • You see further ahead than others and you plan accordingly, even when the vision frightens you.
  • You are driven by loyalty to your people and a sense of destiny you didn’t ask for but can’t escape.
  • Paul Atreides is not simply a hero — he is someone who understands the cost of power and chooses to bear it anyway.
  • That gravity, that willingness to carry what others won’t, is exactly you.

USS Enterprise · Star Trek

Captain Kirk

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

  • You take the mission seriously without ever taking yourself too seriously.
  • Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you’ve earned it.
  • Kirk’s genius isn’t tactical — it’s human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction.
  • That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours.

The Rebellion · Star Wars

Princess Leia

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

  • You lead through conviction. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakeable.
  • You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you’ve never looked back.
  • Leia is not a supporting character in her own story — she is the moral centre of the entire rebellion.
  • That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you.

The Nostromo · Alien

Ellen Ripley

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

  • You see threats clearly, you document the truth even when no one listens, and when the time comes you handle it yourself.
  • Ripley’s heroism is earned, not performed. She doesn’t have a speech — she has a flamethrower and a plan.
  • You share her composure under the worst possible pressure, and her refusal to pretend the monster isn’t there.
  • When it counts, you don’t flinch. That’s everything.

The Wasteland · Mad Max

Max Rockatansky

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

  • You don’t ask for help, don’t need validation, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you the rules no longer apply.
  • Your loyalty, when it finally arrives, is absolute — but it’s earned in silence and tested in action, not in words.
  • Max is not a nihilist. He is someone who lost everything and found, against his will, that he still has something worth protecting.
  • That bruised, stubborn, ultimately human core is exactly yours.

‘Cross’ (2024–Present)

Adapted from James Patterson’s Alex Cross novels, Cross is a crime thriller series created by Ben Watkins that stars Aldis Hodge as the titular Washington, D.C., detective and forensic psychologist. The series takes an anthology approach, with each season following Cross on a high-profile, politically charged investigation, as well as exploring his personal psychological struggles. The show also features Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and more in other key roles.

The first season of Cross premiered to mixed reviews in 2024, receiving criticism for its predictable narrative, but Season 2, released earlier in 2026, has raised the bar for the series, earning much better reviews and audience acclaim. Anchored by Aldis Hodge’s charismatic lead performance, the series is an enjoyable action show with interesting characters and original cases that capture the spirit of the source material without being a direct adaptation. It’s a great watch for fans of gritty TV crime shows, and easily one of Prime Video’s most underrated action series.

3

‘Gen V’ (2023–2025)

If you’re still reeling from the series finale of The Boys, then you really should check out this hit spin-off show. Developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, Gen V is set in the same universe as The Boys and follows young adult superheroes studying at the prestigious Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, who find their lives complicated by the secret politics and machinations of the superhero world. The series features an expansive cast that includes Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Shelley Conn, Hamish Linklater, Sean Patrick Thomas, and the late Chance Perdomo in lead roles.

First released in September 2023, Gen V was a hit with critics and fans alike, and it got even more fascinating in its second season, which premiered in September 2025. Though it has since been canceled, the two-season series is a must-watch for The Boys fans, and not just because of its in-universe connections to the parent show. It’s a compelling, character-driven series that combines the franchise’s trademark chaos and gore with an enjoyable New Adult narrative, following the relatable struggles of college-aged adults in the context of a superpowered world.

Lisa Barlow Teases A ‘Very Different’ New Season Of ‘RHOSLC’

Published

on

Lisa Barlow posing in a black ensemble with dark hair on the red carpet.

The Blast caught up with Lisa Barlow of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” at the American Music Awards on May 25. She looked stunning and stylish on the red carpet, and we couldn’t resist asking her a few questions about the new season of “RHOSLC.” The self-described entrepreneur had a lot to say about the new season, a misconception about herself that she wanted to clear up, and her love of Teyana Taylor!

We asked Lisa to dish on the new season, and she didn’t hold back! “Oh my gosh, this new season feels so fresh, so magical,” she said. “I feel like you’re going to get an in-depth view of who we are. I think you’re going to see a different side to all of us. I think a lot of rumors and nastiness are going to get dispelled, and I think you’re going to get a very fresh, new feeling, RHOSLC like never before.”

“It’s very different from the last six years,” she added. “I think it’s going to surprise people.”

Lisa Jokes About Her Viral Plane Incident

We also asked Lisa to name one misconception about her that she wanted to clear up once and for all. “Oh my gosh, there’s so many,” Lisa said with a laugh. “I’ll tell you what’s true. I’m very confident and I love the truth. What’s false is that I’m, like, the source of anything. I’m not the source of anything but myself, and nothing went down on the plane.”

For those who don’t know, she had a viral “diva moment” after losing her first-class seat and was forced to fly in coach a few years ago. The incident sparked a lot of debate across social media and plenty of memes.

There was also another notorious incident that took place on an international return flight with the “RHOSLC” cast. Lisa’s close friend Meredith Marks and returning cast member Britani Bateman got into a fight, which reportedly revolved around a TikTok video regarding Meredith’s husband.

AMA Excitement Is In The Air!

Lisa Barlow
MEGA

The last question was about the AMAs. We asked her who she was most excited to see, and she had a bunch of names already on the top of her mind! “Oh my gosh, there’s so many people I’m excited to see!” she said, naming Rod Stewart and Teyana Taylor as her two top picks. She also revealed she has her eye on several new artists, like country singer Ella Langley.

We even got to hear a small snippet of her singing Langley’s hit song, “Be Her.” Lisa sang, “She drank wine by the glass, not by the bottle,” and we think that Lisa might have her own singing career ahead of her if she wants one!

Lisa Barlow Has Lots Of Love For Teyana Taylor!

She also went to share a lot of love for Teyana Taylor!

“Teyana Taylor performing is iconic,” she continued. “I’ve loved her, I love watching her be a mom, an entrepreneur, an actress, her acts on stage. I think she’s amazing and so positive and she has such a real light and energy about her that I’m excited to watch Teyana Taylor.”

She went on to say that there are “so many” great artists performing tonight. “I mean, we are surrounded by some of the greats, and I love that it’s bringing the fusion of the past and present together,” she continued. “And it takes us on a trip down memory lane and reminds us how we got here and how sounds has evolved, but it always goes back to the iconic sounds of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and how they transpire into today’s music.”

We couldn’t agree more! It seems Lisa Barlow’s taste in music is just as good as her style!

‘Breaking Bad’ Star’s Easy-to-Binge 6-Part Crime Series Spin-Off Is Finally Heading to Free Streaming

Published

on

Raymond Cruz at SDCC 2025 for Aztec Batman

Raymond Cruz will always have one of television’s most instantly recognizable villain faces because of his character, Tuco Salamanca, in Breaking Bad. The wild eyes, the sudden violence, the terrifying switch from funny to fatal was a different vibe. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul made him unforgettable despite surprisingly little screen time. The other side of his TV career, meanwhile, is just as interesting, and with this show, which came three years before Breaking Bad, Cruz had already built a completely different kind of presence inside one of cable’s most dependable police-procedural universes.

That universe came from The Closer, a TNT hit built around Brenda Leigh Johnson’s (Kyra Sedgwick) ability to crack suspects through confession-heavy interrogation. When the parent show ended, the follow-up, instead of simply copying the same formula with a new lead, shifted the department’s rhythm. The cases still involved murders, high-profile investigations, and LAPD politics, but the new show leaned more into plea deals, cooperation agreements, unit dynamics, and longer serialized arcs.

That spin-off is Major Crimes, and all six seasons will stream free on Pluto TV beginning June 1, 2026. Cruz returns as Detective Julio Sanchez alongside Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Phillip P. Keene, Robert Gossett, Jon Tenney, and Jonathan Del Arco, with Graham Patrick Martin’s Rusty Beck giving the spin-off its most personal long-running thread.

01

You’re dropped into a dangerous situation with no warning. What do you need most from a partner?

02

You have to get somewhere dangerous, fast. How do you travel?
How you get there is half the mission.

03

You’re pinned down and outnumbered. What does your ideal partner do?
This is when you find out what someone is really made of.

04

The mission is paused. You have one evening to decompress. What does your partner suggest?
Who someone is when the pressure drops is who they actually are.

05

How do you prefer your partner to communicate mid-mission?
Good communication is the difference between partners and a liability.

06

Your enemy is powerful, well-resourced, and has the upper hand. How should your partner approach them?
The approach to the enemy defines the partnership.

07

Things go badly wrong and you’re captured. What do you trust your partner to do?
Who someone is when you need them most is the only thing that matters.

08

What does your ideal partner bring to the table that you couldn’t replace?
A great partner fills the gap you didn’t know you had.

09

No one comes without baggage. The question is whether you can carry it together.

10

It’s the final moment. Everything is on the line. What do you need from your partner right now?
The last question is the most honest one.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Where Else Have You Seen Raymond Cruz

Image via Alex Cobian
Advertisement

Cruz played Julio Sanchez in Major Crimes for 105 episodes from 2012 to 2018, giving him far more room than his explosive but brief Tuco Salamanca run for three episodes each in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. After that, his most notable TV project was Nova Vita, the 2021 drama built around powerful men, erased identities, and a secret organization selling second lives. Interestingly, Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) was also a part of that show, alongside Titus Welliver, Raymond Cruz, Michel Gill, and Robert Knepper. Since then, Cruz has not had another comparable series role, and his later credits lean more toward film roles.

Major Crimes will be available to stream for free on Pluto TV starting June 1, 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Abbey looked stunning during her appearance at the AMAs in a sleek, strapless black dress that highlighted her figure, which she accessorized with a silver necklace.

In her chat with The Blast, she got candid about how becoming a reality TV star has impacted her life, sharing that it finally afforded her the ability to travel to “Africa.”

“Being on a reality show has been a dream come true because I finally got to go to Africa and see wild animals in person,” Abbey said, adding that it was the “trip of a lifetime, even though it was too expensive.”

She noted that she “couldn’t afford” going when she was in school, as it cost a lot of money, hinting that that was no longer a problem for her this time around.

Abbey and her longtime boyfriend, David Isaacman, recently called it quits on their romance, but things still seem to be good between them.

During an appearance on the “Tea Time with Raven and Miranda” podcast, she had nothing but great things to say about him, noting that they now refer to each other as “best friends.”

“David and I decided to call each other ‘best friends,’ not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore,” she told hosts Raven-Symoné and her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, per People Magazine.

The former couple met on the first season of the hit Netflix show in 2021, going on to have their first date in July of that same year at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

However, in early April this year, they called it quits on their romance. Abbey and Isaacman were the show’s longest-standing couple.

When asked how she feels now that she is a single woman, Abbey didn’t hold back, as she proclaimed it was a great feeling.

“Being a single lady, like what Beyoncè says, it feels amazing,” she stated. “I’ve grown and changed a lot over the past four and a half years.”

She, however, credited her ex-boyfriend for helping her grow as a person, saying, “I wouldn’t be where I am today,” before adding, “He was a good start.”

Agreeing with her, Pearman-Maday noted that early relationships are “so important” as they help one grow and become better, while also making it clearer “what we want in our next relationship.”

During her podcast appearance, Abbey was with her mother, Christine, who asked about a “funny” thing she says about her ex.

Responding, the reality TV star said that at least Isaacman “wasn’t cheating and lying” like her brother’s ex-partner.

According to People, Abbey previously opened up about her split from Isaacman in a chat with “Love On The Spectrum” producers, revealing that “neither one of us are ready to get married.”

She added, “I don’t want to be a divorced lady like my mom, so that’s why I don’t want to rush it, take my time to get married.”

Rosamund Pike’s New R-Rated Netflix Movie Is an Instant Streaming Hit

Rosamund Pike is among the most versatile actors in the industry. With her impressive talent, the Oscar-nominated actor has portrayed a multitude of characters, from Gone Girl’s Amy Dunne to a Bond girl opposite Pierce Brosnan, and Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice; her talents know no bounds. In the past decade, she has become even more unconventional with her acting choices, playing Moiraine in The Wheel of Time, a troubled mother in Saltburn, a con woman, and Marla in I Care a Lot, among others. Now, her latest feature has become an instant Netflix hit.

Pike stars opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in a new R-rated satirical comedy film, Ladies First. Directed by Thea Sharrock, the feature is an adaptation of the French film Je ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile (I Am Not an Easy Man). The film follows an arrogant, high-powered advertising executive and chronic chauvinist, Damien Sachs (Baron Cohen). He lives a life of immense privilege, casual flings, and corporate dominance, regularly undermining his highly qualified female colleague, Alex Fox (Pike). Things take a turn after an accident when Damien wakes up in a parallel universe where the traditional gender roles and societal power dynamics are reversed.

Ladies First has a stellar cast, including Richard E. Grant, who plays a mystical homeless man and Damien’s guide. Fans will also be surprised with the timid performance of Game of Thrones vet Charles Dance as Fred, a submissive, age-conscious executive, while Fiona Shaw shines as boss lady in the boardroom, Felicity.

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.

You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.

Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

‘Ladies First’ Is an Instant Streaming Hit

Owing to its brilliant comedy and great premise, Ladies First has become an instant hit on Netflix, standing tall at the #1 spot, as per FlixPatrol. Also on the list is the animated feature Swapped, starring Michael B Jordan, true-crime offering The Crash, Charlize Theron’s Apex, GOAT, and more. In the last few months, fans have been enjoying a couple of high-octane movies, so a comedy at the top of the charts comes as a breath of fresh air.

The feature is a comedic gold, but touches upon several themes like societal pressure that women face in everyday life, the corporate glass ceiling, flipping the gendered norms, as well as female objectification and the male gaze. It has severely divided its audience, with critics giving it a 19% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the audience gave it a 68% rating.

Arthur Gea Tells Umpire He ‘Cannot Wait’ to Use the Bathroom

Published

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Sometimes nature calls, and as French tennis pro Arthur Gea learned the hard way, it just doesn’t care how many people are watching.

Gea, 21, had to pause the first set of his French Open debut on Sunday, May 24, when he realized he couldn’t wait anymore. Down 4-2 to Karen Khachanov, Gea asked the chair umpire for a break.

“I need to go to the bathroom,” cameras caught him pleading in French, according to the Associated Press. “I can’t move anymore. I’m going to (go) on the court.”

Video shared by TNT Sports also captured the athlete saying in English, “I cannot wait… it’s not a joke.”

Though his pleas were initially denied, the match was ultimately delayed for around three minutes while Gea relieved himself, presumably in the nick of time. According to the Association of Tennis Professionals’ rules, three minutes is the maximum amount of time a player can spend on a bathroom break during a match. They are also allowed only one per match.

Gea went on to lose in three sets.

He later revealed that he was eventually granted the bathroom break — which typically only comes between sets — due to “medical circumstances” and that he was also given medicine to help settle his stomach. He also admitted that he had fallen ill the night before.

“During the match it was even worse,” he said. “I had to go to the toilet really quick.”

Gea added that the heat at Roland Garros didn’t help his condition.

“I was feeling really, really bad this morning in particular. But during the match was even worse because it was a bit hot and I had to go to the toilet really quick and they didn’t allow it,” he said in a press conference. “I was asking the referee because I was feeling really, really bad and then the doctor came and obviously I could go out and it was not so long.”

After he lightened his load, Gea said, “I was feeling a bit better but it was still really bad. It was really, really hard physically with my health.”

Gea turned pro in 2023 and was the 135th-ranked player in the world when the match began. Khachanov, 30, advanced to take on Marco Trungelliti in the second round and expressed his sympathy for Gea’s situation after the match.

“I think it’s more a question about the rules — when you can leave the court and when you can’t,” he said in his press conference. “But as a human being, I understand him, because sometimes you can have that desperate need. What can you do? You just accept it and wait for him. Honestly, I felt bad for the guy.”
