Khloe Kardashian ‘Misadvised’ About Getting Cats Declawed

The Biggest Celebrity Dog Controversies and Scandals

Khloé Kardashian is opening up about certain regrets over her two cats, Grey Kitty and Baby Kitty.

The Kardashians star, 41, revealed on the Wednesday, May 20, episode of her “Khloé In Wonder Land” podcast that she had her pets declawed, a practice that involves the “surgical amputation of all or part of a cat’s third phalanges (toe bones) and the attached claws” and is “strongly discouraged,” according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“I was really misadvised about getting my cats declawed,” Khloé said. “I’ve never owned cats before. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I feel really, really terrible that I did go in this direction. I feel like that’s why my cats are miserable and it was at my doing.”

She added, “My cats wear AirTags. Like, they’re not allowed to even go near a door. I’m so afraid if they get out because they have no way to defend themselves. They lost their protection tools. It makes me sad.”

Many stars have come under fire for their pet ownership, including Rachel “Raquel” Leviss and Pete Davidson. The Vanderpump Rules star and then-fiancé James Kennedy adopted their pooch, Graham Cracker, amid their early courtship. After they split in December 2021, Leviss retained custody of the dog, but many costars called out his poor behavior. “Rachel would bring […]

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association “strongly discourages veterinarians from performing onychectomy, tenectomy, or any other surgical procedure intended to prevent the normal use of the animal’s claws that is not medically necessary.”

The AVMA says that “scratching is a normal behavior of cats that conditions the claws, serves as a visual and scent territorial marker, allows for self-defense, and provides healthy muscle engagement through stretching. The amputation or other surgical alteration of the distal digits is an acutely painful procedure and may result in chronic pain, maladaptive behavior, disability, and significant mutilation.”

Several states in the U.S. have banned the declawing of cats except for medical reasons. California joined the growing list in January after new legislation was passed last October.

Khloé first introduced Grey Kitty to the world in a November 2022 Instagram post featuring her and daughter True, 8, dressed up as cats. In April 2024, the Good American cofounder shared that she had added another kitten to her brood. (Khloé also shares son Tatum, 3, with ex Tristan Thompson.)

Khloé Kardashian had two memorable encounters while celebrating a friend’s birthday. “The first person I run into is French [Montana]. I was like, ‘Hi.’ He was like, ‘What are you doing?’ I was like, ‘What are you doing here?’” Kardashian, 41, said on the Wednesday, May 20, episode of her “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast. […]

During Wednesday’s podcast episode, Khloé opened up about her pet troubles at home after introducing Baby Kitty to the family.

“I have two possessed cats,” she said. “Grey Kitty was great. Perfect. The saint of a cat. Never did anything wrong. So what did I do? We gotta get True a second cat, because True wants one. I got Baby Kitty for True’s sixth birthday. Once we got Baby Kitty, Grey Kitty started peeing on one of the beds to tell us she hates us and she’s pissed that we have another cat. They’re the same cat. I thought this was great because why would a cat wanna be alone? Big mistake.”

“Then I found out Baby Kitty started mimicking Grey’s behavior and started doing it, and I’m still blaming Grey Kitty,” Khloé continued. “I had to put cameras to find out which cat was doing it.”

“Grey Kitty’s back to being an angel and now I have Baby Kitty, who’s just like a demon right now. What do I do? ‘Cause I can’t live like this,” she added. “The vet and the breeder, everyone’s like, ‘We’ve never seen a cat do this for this long.’ They’ve given me all the suggestions and all the tips, but also if she’s not happy, I don’t know what to do. So I am in an animal circus.”

60 Best Fantasy Movies of All Time, Ranked

Published

on

Other Mother in Coraline

Fantasy movies provide a true escape from reality, bringing viewers to faraway lands with magical powers, creatures, and beings. The farthest depths of imagination are brought to the surface in the different stories that fall under the category of fantasy. The extraordinary becomes the ordinary!

The best fantasy movies ever made are those that often inspire massive franchises, introduce novel aspects to the oversaturated genre, or are impactful and memorable enough to stay with audiences for years. These are also the ideal movies for viewers looking for must-see fantasy films, as they defined and continue to change the enduring genre. From recent adaptations of timeless classics like The Green Knight to old seminal masterworks like Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, it’s easy to see that the best fantasy movies ever made tend to have an enduring influence on cinema. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of the very best films from the fantasy genre that fans should consider essential viewing.

‘Coraline’ (2009)

Based on Neil Gaiman‘s 2002 novella about a young girl who discovers a mysterious alternate universe behind a secret door in her new home, Coraline is far and away one of the darkest fairy tale movies of all time. It’s also a fantastic way to introduce the little ones of the family to dark fantasy and horror, but though it’s a family film, Coraline should be able to delight and terrify viewers of any age in equal measure.

Directed by Henry Selick, it’s the third-highest-grossing stop-motion animated film of all time—for good reason. With its vivid world-building, stunning visuals, enrapturing score, and emotionally compelling story, it’s undoubtedly one of the best family fantasy films of the 2000s. Dark, funny, and moving, it’s animated filmmaking at its very best.

‘Time of the Gypsies’ (1988)

Time of the Gypsies - 1988 (1) Image via Ljubavny Film

Nowadays, there are many masterpieces from countries that no longer exist. Case in point: Yugoslavia, which has one of the most impressive national filmographies of any 20th-century European nation. It was the country that produced Emir Kusturica, one of the greatest European auteurs in movie history, whose Time of the Gypsies is a transcendental work of art. It’s a coming-of-age fantasy crime drama about Perhan, a telekinetic Romani teenager who becomes a criminal in Milan.

A masterclass in how to employ magic realism in movies, Time of the Gypsies is somehow still awfully underrated. It holds a well-deserved score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics have praised its incredibly vast scope and Kusturica’s airtight direction. It’s visually poetic, it has a haunting score by Goran Bregović, and the performances of its largely non-professional cast are all impressive. It’s arthouse fantasy at its most underappreciated.

‘Song of the Sea’ (2014)

They may not be as big as your Pixars or your DreamWorks, but the Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon is nevertheless one of the most celebrated animation studios currently working in the industry. Their highest-rated film on Letterboxd and IMDb alike is Song of the Sea, about a 10-year-old Irish boy who discovers that his mute sister is a selkie.

It’s the kind of film that animation fans can’t believe isn’t more famous. It’s visually gorgeous, full of narrative and thematic depth, emotionally enthralling, and perfectly family-friendly. The performances of the exceptional voice cast are all fantastic, and the way the story borrows elements from Irish folklore to tell a tale about grief and the power of stories is profoundly moving.

Kwaidan is one of the best-looking horror movies ever made, an engrossing Masaki Kobayashi anthology film consisting of four separate stories inspired by Japanese folktales. The film was stuck in development hell for a decade, but once it finally saw the light of day, audiences around the world were treated to what has aged as one of the greatest horror films of all time.

The film’s baroque aesthetic is decorated with a volume of colorful details so dense that it would take several re-watches to absorb everything that Kobayashi plasters on the screen. It’s a truly timeless adaptation of equally timeless pieces of folk storytelling, and with its eerie atmosphere and arthouse sensibilities, it’s a must-see for all those who love dark fantasy.

‘The Fall’ (2006)

Directed by Tarsem Singh, The Fall centers on a young girl who meets a stuntman at the hospital where they are both staying, and the latter tells her the tale of a group of heroes seeking revenge on an evil ruler. When it originally came out, the film split critics and performed very poorly at the box office. Two decades later, it has become one of the biggest fantasy cult classics of the 21st century.

With a thought-provoking story that will definitely not be for everyone and jaw-dropping visuals to make up for it, The Fall is one of the best hidden-gem fantasy masterpieces of the 21st century. Inspired by the work of filmmakers like Terry Gilliam and Alejandro Jodorowsky, this mind-bending extravaganza is a love letter to the power of stories, cinema, and fantasy.

‘Peter Pan’ (1953)

One of the best Disney classics of the ’50s, Peter Pan is a loving adaptation of Scottish writer J.M. Barrie‘s book. It’s the magical story of a girl and her brothers who are whisked away to the magical world of Neverland by its hero, Peter Pan, a dashing young boy who can never grow up. Though the story has been adapted for the screen on numerous occasions, this remains one of the best.

This beautifully animated movie is as timeless as classics come, enchanting for audiences of all ages. It’s one of the best fantasy adventure movies of its time, thanks to charming direction and a screenplay whose imagination and innocence soar far above whatever flaws the film may have. It may not have the complex themes or groundbreaking innovations that make other Disney classics far superior fantasy films, but it definitely comes close.

‘Conan the Barbarian’ (1982)

Back in the ’80s, Arnold Schwarzenegger was at the peak of his career as an action star, starring in increasingly wild and explosive films that allowed him to show off his strength (both literal and figurative). One of his best movies from this period is Conan the Barbarian, about a powerful warrior who sets out to avenge the genocide of his people at the hands of a cult.

This fantasy epic is one of the most entertaining sword & sandal films ever, with brutal yet delightful action and a fun B-picture tone. It was the movie that cemented Schwarzenegger’s place in the contemporary action movie canon, and nowadays, it’s still remembered as one of his most bewitching roles. While some directors could have chosen to make this a campy adventure, John Milius goes for a darker and more serious tone, which somehow works magnificently.

Back when the live-action Barbie movie was first announced, no one expected it to be anything special. Even when the always-outstanding Greta Gerwig was announced to be attached to the project, people weren’t sure what to expect. As it turned out, Barbie proved to be worthy of the title of the most successful film of 2023. Colorful, quirky, and shockingly smart, it’s an emotionally complex story about Barbie and Ken having to travel from Barbie Land to the real world, where they discover both the joys and perils of being human.

Philosophically profound but also fully able to have tons of silly fun with itself, Barbie is one of the best comedies of the 2020s thus far. Its fantasy elements are kept relatively low-key throughout, but they do add a sweet air of imagination and innocence to the story. All in all, what Gerwig was able to achieve with Barbie is genre filmmaking at its finest.

‘The Green Knight’ (2021)

A visually stunning movie based on the 14th-century poem “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight,” director David Lowery’s 2021 masterpiece is an underrated story of courage, mortality, and what it means to be human. The Green Knight follows Gawain (Dev Patel) as he embarks on a perilous journey to keep his word to the titular character. Along the way, he meets otherworldly creatures and people with bad intentions.

With an enchanting atmosphere that holds viewers’ attention throughout Gawain’s magical odyssey, it’s easy to overlook The Green Knight’s philosophical themes and pressing questions about life and death. The protagonist’s journey is as much a quest to prove himself as it is to discover who he really is, pointing the mirror at audiences and their own paths forward.

Directed by J. A. Bayona, A Monster Calls is a modern classic that tells the heartfelt story of Conor O’Malley (Lewis MacDougall), a young boy who struggles with his mother’s terminal illness. When the titular Monster (Liam Neeson) shows up at his bedroom window one night, the biggest adventure of his life begins.

Visually striking and emotionally powerful, A Monster Calls seamlessly blends reality and fantasy, highlighting the transformative power of magic and imagination (especially in the darkest times). Its unflinching depiction of grief and the healing effect that stories can have is unmatched, and will likely capture fans’ hearts for years to come.

Andy Dick Shares Sobriety Update Following Overdose

Published

Andy Dick is opening up about his sobriety journey several months after an overdose that prompted renewed concern over his health and well-being. The comedian detailed that fateful day, sharing how the experience impacted his outlook as he continues working toward staying sober.

Dick went through multiple public setbacks and legal troubles tied to his addiction, while also repeatedly attempting recovery and sobriety throughout the years.

Andy Dick is taking life day by day following his near-fatal overdose in December 2025. In an interview with David Manheim, published in Rolling Stone on May 20, the 60-year-old comedian revealed he was 147 days sober.

Dick recalled that fateful day, sharing that he was hanging out with friends but left them when he saw people “passing around a pipe” across the street and assumed they were smoking marijuana. However, he later realized what he took a hit of wasn’t pot. Instead, it was a white substance that he assumed was cocaine.

“I went into an elaborate story that lasted like 10 seconds, and then I just plopped down and allegedly died,” Dick said. Looking back, the comedian said he should have known that approaching the strangers was a bad idea.

As The Blast previously reported, Dick was found slumped over and unresponsive on the street in December 2025. He was given Narcan, a life-saving medication used for immediately reversing the effects of opioid overdose, and emergency responders were called to the scene. Later, Dick said he believed what he overdosed on was fentanyl.

As soon as he gained consciousness, Dick’s first thought was “Why didn’t you just let me die?” He told Manheim, “Which is very sad that I had that thought. But the first thing I said allegedly was, ‘Where’s the vodka?’”

Following his overdose, Dick checked into a treatment facility, admitting that initially, he refused to get help. However, a few of his good friends convinced him to go, saying that they “dangled a bunch of carrots” in front of him, namely his ongoing projects.

His friends told him he wouldn’t be able to move forward with his professional commitments if he didn’t get help. “There were a lot of things in the works that are still in the works. And by ‘in the works,’ I mean they are ready to go. But the dying throws a wrench into it,” Dick explained.

When it comes to sobriety, the comedian takes things day by day and gets inspiration from his family. Dick has two grandchildren and another one on the way, and he wants to leave a better legacy. “I better pull my f-cking sh-t together so they’re not just talking about old grandpa Dickie over there,” he said.

The Actor Has ‘Holes’ In His Brain

In an appearance on the “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” podcast in March, Dick talked about his overdose. Howie Mandel expressed his concern for the comedian, sharing that they saw each other weeks before the overdose. “You looked like you were going to die that day,” Mandel said, and then the overdose happened.

Dick shared that he underwent a CAT scan and was told there were “about five to seven holes” found in his brain. Mandel told Dick that he doesn’t have many chances left, and many people are rooting for him. The latter agreed, saying that he has to “pull it together.”

Later, Dick’s representative clarified his statement about the holes in his brain, explaining that they were caused by an “unprovoked” attack on the comedian in 2019 that resulted in his head being cracked rather than from drug use. “We are assured that his brain will heal,” the rep added.

At the end of the interview with Manheim, Dick reflected on his life. “I want life to be f-cking fun, man,” he said, recalling that while he had fun in the moment while using substances and drinking, looking back, they were “not that fun” at all.

“It’s not as fulfilling as just being sober and seeing your grandkids play. Or them looking at you and immediately smiling. And then when they laugh at something I do, I’ll do it over and over and over where they’re laughing till they’re crying,” Dick said, saying that he does those things despite not knowing why it makes his grandchildren laugh.

“That beats all of it,” he added.

Netflix’s Fan-Favorite Fantasy Series Unleashes the Fire Nation in Explosive New Trailer

Published

on

unnamed-1.jpg

It’s been a busy, yet rocky start to the year for Avatar: The Last Airbender. For the first time since The Legend of Korra ended in 2014, an entirely new story in the world of elemental benders is about to arrive in the form of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, originally slated for theaters but since moved to be a Paramount+ streaming release on October 9. Paramount, the filmmakers, and all the artists behind the animated feature were left reeling, however, when the entire film was leaked online back in April. A suspect was arrested just weeks later, but the damage had already been done, with those behind the film voicing the “disrespect” they felt seeing their years of effort spread across the internet.

For the Netflix live-action The Last Airbender series, at least, the news has been much better. Just over two years after Season 1 freed Aang from the ice once more, Season 2 is now only a month away from bringing Book Two of Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko‘s Nickelodeon classic to life and sending the GAang to the Earth Kingdom. After saving the Northern Water Tribe from the Fire Nation, Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley), their next goals are to convince the Earth King to aid in fighting back and to find an earthbending teacher for the young Avatar. The first teaser gave a ground-shaking introduction to the blind prodigy Toph (Miya Cech), but now, Netflix has shared the official trailer, previewing the start of the Firebenders’ siege.

The footage opens with a chilling promise from Azula (Elizabeth Yu) — “The Earth Kingdom is going to fall.” Indeed, until the now clearly older Aang arrives, the Fire Nation has its opponents outmatched with blazing fury. In the likely time jump between seasons, an army has gathered just beyond the walls of the kingdom, forcing the Avatar and company to work quickly and try to convince the people that the fighting has never truly stopped, even though there are officials creepily repeating the iconic line, “There is no war in Ba Sing Se.” Toph may be the best earthbender Aang has ever seen, and she may be the key to unlocking his full potential, but they’ll need more help with destruction on a scale not yet seen in the series. Azula, in particular, is unlike any bender they’ve faced, though Zuko (Dallas Liu) is still running around, and danger seems to reach each member of the team, forcing Aang to consider what he might lose in this fight.

Your Universe Has Been Chosen
You Belong In…

Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.

  • You are drawn to the moral clarity of a universe where hope itself is a form of resistance.
  • You’d find your people in the Rebellion — a ragtag coalition of true believers held together by conviction more than resources.
  • Star Wars is fundamentally a story about ordinary people choosing to matter in an extraordinary conflict — and that is exactly your kind of story.
  • The Force may or may not be with you. But the will to use it for something larger than yourself certainly is.

Middle-earth

Lord of the Rings

You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

  • Middle-earth is a world of ancient wonder, deep friendship, and a darkness that only retreats when enough small acts of courage accumulate.
  • You would thrive here because you value the fellowship more than the glory — the road more than the arrival.
  • Tolkien’s universe rewards patience, loyalty, and the willingness to carry something heavy across a very long distance.
  • Those are not burdens to you. They are simply how you move through the world.

The Wizarding World

Harry Potter

You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

  • The Wizarding World is a place of wonder hidden in plain sight, where learning is transformative and the bonds you form at school follow you into every battle.
  • You would flourish here because you take both the magic and the friendships seriously — and you understand that one without the other is incomplete.
  • Harry Potter’s universe ultimately rewards those who choose to stand for something even when standing is terrifying.
  • That choice — made quietly, without guarantee — is something you understand completely.

Westeros · The Known World

Game of Thrones

You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

  • Westeros is a world that rewards intelligence, adaptability, and the willingness to understand that every alliance is also a negotiation.
  • You would survive here — possibly thrive here — because you don’t confuse the world as it is with the world as you’d like it to be.
  • Game of Thrones is a story about what happens when the idealists and the realists collide. You are sharp enough to know which one lasts longer.
  • Winter always comes. You are already prepared.

The United Federation of Planets

Star Trek

You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

  • Star Trek is a universe where the questions matter as much as the answers, and where encountering something utterly alien is cause for wonder rather than fear.
  • You would belong here because you are fundamentally optimistic about what intelligence and decency can achieve — while being honest about how hard that achievement is.
  • The Federation is the universe’s most ambitious thought experiment: what if we actually got better?
  • You don’t just hope that’s possible. You think it’s the only thing worth working toward.

The End Is Already in Sight for Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

Christine Boylan has taken the reins as showrunner for Season 2 from Albert Kim, though they’ll both still serve as executive producers with Jabbar Raisani, Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, and Brendan Ferguson. Under their guidance, ATLA Season 1 was a major hit with over 298.6 million hours watched in less than two weeks while also being seen as a massive improvement over the infamous M. Night Shyamalan adaptation. Much of the same cast will return, with Miyako, Momona Tamada, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Maria Zhang, and Daniel Dae Kim among the other key players in the Avatar’s next journey. After this, the end will be firmly in sight for Netflix’s adaptation, as Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back for a quick turnaround. At just seven episodes, the final run will face a real challenge in adapting the contents of Book 3 and the ultimate showdown with Ozai in a satisfying way, with all the spectacle viewers have come to expect.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 unfolds on June 25. Check out the new trailer in the player above.

Celebrate a Year of Universal’s Epic Universe Park With New Merch [Exclusive]

One year ago, Universal Epic Universe opened its gates for the first time in Orlando, Florida. Now, to celebrate its birthday, the park is offering a bevy of exclusive collectibles. Collider is proud to exclusively present a preview of the wares that will be on offer starting this week.

The park’s central area, Celestial Park, is offering Lug bags and coinpurses of park mascot Captain Cacao, as well as a vinyl album of the park’s soundtrack. Fans of the eerie Dark Universe can festoon themselves with themed temporary tattoos and tote their gear in a Frankenstein Manor bag from Loungefly. Super Nintendo World‘s collection is inspired by the Mount Beanpole level of Super Mario 3D World; it includes apparel, a themed tumbler, and a gold “power up” wristwatch. Inhabitants of the Isle of Berk can pick up an adorable Toothless Loungefly bag and the park’s soundtrack on vinyl. And, just in time for HBO’s new Harry Potter series, devotees of the Ministry of Magic can choose from two new series of collector wands; a line of glass wands inspired by Wizarding World characters, and interactive wands with illuminated spell effects and haptic responses activated by locations in the park. These items and more will be available today on-location at Epic Universe, and on ShopUniversal.com tomorrow.

What Is Universal Epic Universe?

Construction on Epic Universe began in 2019 in Orlando, the theme park hub of Florida. The park consists of five separate areas, all themed with a different franchise. The hub that connects them all is Celestial Park, an astrology-themed area that offers gateways to the other areas. Dark Universe celebrates Universal’s rich tradition of horror, which stretches back to the Universal Monsters movies of the 1930s and 1940s. The Isle of Berk sends visitors to the medieval fantasy world of How to Train Your Dragon. Super Nintendo World takes guests into the virtual world of Mario, Donkey Kong, and all their video game pals. Finally, The Ministry of Magic is one of a trio of Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas in Universal’s trio of Orlando parks.

Epic Universe is one of three parks that comprise Universal Orlando. It also includes Universal’s Islands of Adventure, which features areas themed to Marvel, Dr. Seuss, King Kong, and Jurassic Park, and Universal Studios Florida, which includes attractions themed around Universal’s bevy of TV and movie franchises.

Epic Universe’s one-year anniversary merchandise will be available to order on ShopUniversal.com starting tomorrow, May 22. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

Chelsea Handler’s Comments About The Kevin Hart Roast Backfire

Published

on

Chelsea Handler at iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM's Jingle Ball 2025

Chelsea Handler has come under fire after calling out comedians at the Kevin Hart roast for being “racist” and “sexist.”

During a recent appearance on actor Deon Cole’s “Funny Knowing You” podcast, she had a lot to say about the event, branding the vibes “gross,” while especially taking aim at comedians Shane Gillis and Tony Hinchcliff for their jokes.

However, Chelsea Handler’s remarks have now backfired, with many slamming the actress online for participating in the roast in the first place.

Handler had nothing nice to say about the recent Netflix roast of Kevin Hart, which featured her and several other comedians taking jabs at each other, sometimes with some extreme jokes.

While chatting with actor Deon Cole on his podcast, the former talk show host didn’t hold back as she slammed Shane Gillis and Tony Hinchcliff, claiming that she had received info from the men’s ex-partners who told her a lot about them, which made her realize that they are “pretty bad.”

When asked to clarify, she noted, “It’s just everything we know. That they’re racist, that they’re bigots, they’re sexist. That they think they are like, invincible.”

Handler went on to claim that their comedy at the show was “ick” and “gross,” stressing that she doesn’t find such jokes funny.

“Lynching Black people is not a joke. It’s worse than rape,” she said, adding, “people are like, ‘it’s a roast, you go for it,’ I’m like, ‘you can go for it without being gross.’”

The Comedienne Said Jokes About Sherryl Underwood’s Late Husband Crossed The Line

Handler took things a step further by bringing up jokes made at fellow comedian Sherryl Underwood’s expense at the roast.

According to Handler, it crossed a line when they made fun of Underwood’s husband taking his own life, and for her, that was “gross” and shouldn’t have been joked about.

However, she did note that Underwood was fine with the roast before emphasizing that she, however, was not okay with such jokes. “If she says she’s fine with that, she’s fine with that, but I wasn’t fine with that. I thought it was disgusting too,” Handler explained.

She further stated that she came into the roast with the goal of elevating it and making it less “gross” for Kevin Hart.

“There was so much disgustingness that I knew it was gonna be such a gross vibe, that I would be able to elevate it, no problem, and that’s what I went to do,” she said. “I was like, ‘Alright, well, I’ll pick it up because they are gonna try and bring it down, and Kevin didn’t deserve that. He deserved like an elevated roast.”

Chelsea Handler’s Remarks About The Roast Backfired

The comedian’s comments have since gone viral online, with netizens blasting her for being a part of the Netflix special and trying to “cancel” comedians for making jokes at a roast.

One X user noted, “What a disgrace to comedy, missing the point by so much she might as well be looking at this from Mars.”

Another commented, “Chelsea is a has-been hack who is jealous of the new crop. It was a roast. Kevin Hart was laughing his -ss off. Which was the whole point.”

“She’s so god-d-mn annoying sometimes .. Sucks because she can be really funny… smh,” another person said.

Several also called out Handler for seemingly taking offense on Underwood’s behalf over jokes made about her late husband, with many pointing out that Underwood had made an appearance on Shane Gillis’ podcast after the roast, showing that she was okay with the jokes.

“Hilarious, the dawgs just dropped a new pod with Sheryl Underwood while Chelsea is here complaining on her behalf,” one person noted.

Another said, “Leave it to a white liberal woman to be offended over jokes she can’t claim offense over. She’s not black. She’s not Cheryl Underwood. STFU.”

The Former Late-Night Talk Show Host Was Called Out For Dining With Jeffret Epstein

During the roast, one of the moments that stood out was when Gillis took aim at Handler and brought up her relationship with the late financier, Jeffrey Epstein.

“Chelsea is a Zionist,” Gillis began. “Not saying that’s a good or bad thing. Speaking of dead kids, she’s a big fan of abortions. Chelsea’s been scraped more times than the grill at Benihana.”

He continued, “Speaking of tossing tiny shrimp into a child’s mouth, Chelsea Handler went to dinner at Jeffrey Epstein’s house in 2010. Look it up, there are articles.”

Following Handler’s recent remarks, many slammed her for not addressing Gillis’ Epstein comment, with one person noting, “Racism this, misogyny that, she just not gonna address the Epstein callout? Bc that seems more prevalent.”

Amid the backlash, several defended Handler’s stance and praised her for condemning jokes that bordered on being “racist” and “sexist.”

The Kevin Hart roast has certainly put Handler back in the spotlight, as insiders recently scrutinized her past dealings with Hollywood power players, noting that her recent brand of mocking the industry was ironic.

A source who spoke to Rob Shuter for his “Naughty But Nice” Substack shared that the comedian was once a frequent face at Hollywood parties and dinners hosted by disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein before the #MeToo movement derailed his once-thriving career.

“Chelsea now acts disgusted by Hollywood culture, but she absolutely benefited from it when it suited her,” an insider told the journalist, adding that she was “playing the exact same game as everyone else.”

Another insider shared that “It’s hard to position yourself as this fearless outsider exposing Hollywood hypocrisy when you were actively participating in the machine for years.”

“Chelsea wasn’t outside the system — she was part of it,” they added.

Melania Trump’s Chat With King Charles Decoded By Lip Reader

King Charles arrives at the White House

Melania Trump’s brief conversation with King Charles during his arrival at the White House for his state visit in April has reportedly been revealed.

The First Lady, alongside her husband Donald Trump, welcomed the monarch and Queen Camilla on the South Lawn of the White House. She is also said to have been involved in planning the visit, including organizing the state banquet.

During King Charles’ April visit to the U.S., Melania appeared to share a brief exchange with the monarch as she and Trump welcomed him and Camilla on the White House grounds.

Now, lip reader Jeremy Freeman has shared what he believes was said during the short interaction, per  The Express.

According to Freeman, as Melania and Charles shook hands, the monarch warmly told her, “Oh, it’s so nice to see you.”

Melania reportedly replied, “So pleased to see you,” before adding a brief expression of excitement about the occasion: “I’m really delighted.”

The exchange also appeared to include brief kisses on both cheeks, while Trump greeted Camilla nearby. The four then posed for photographs on the lawn before heading into the White House for tea.

Melania Was ‘Very Involved’ In Royal Visit

Despite the large number of staff available at the White House, Melania is said to have personally ensured that everything was in order for Charles’ first state visit to the United States since his coronation.

According to reports published by The Telegraph, Melania was “very involved” in every aspect of the visit, with her attention to detail reportedly demonstrating a strong desire for perfection.

“Melania is totally across it. There’s lots of attention to detail, and she admits it has to be a great success,” a source told the outlet ahead of the visit.

As part of the preparations, the former model is said to have moved the state banquet to the East Room, choosing it over other available spaces within the White House. She allegedly believed the setting would create a more fitting atmosphere for the visiting dignitaries.

Melania Trump Reportedly Broke Royal Protocol

While receiving the King and Queen on April 27, Melania reportedly breached royal protocol, according to The Daily Express.

For the occasion, the First Lady wore a pale-yellow two-piece outfit consisting of a double-breasted jacket and a pencil skirt. While the ensemble appeared well-suited to the sunny weather, her decision not to wear stockings was said to run counter to expected royal etiquette.

Female members of the Royal Family are typically expected to wear sheer nude or black tights during official engagements to maintain a formal and conservative appearance.

It remains unclear whether Melania was aware of the guideline and chose to disregard it, or whether the fashion choice was simply an oversight.

Melania Also Faced Scrutiny Over Royal Greeting During Past UK Visit

In September last year, Trump and Melania visited the United Kingdom, and she once again found herself at the center of royal protocol chatter.

At the time, the First Lady sparked questions after she did not curtsy to King Charles during their encounter.

The moment led to debate over whether Melania had actually done anything wrong, with sources later pointing to an explanation on the royal family’s official website.

“There are no obligatory codes of behavior when meeting a member of the Royal Family, but many people wish to observe the traditional forms,” a statement on the website read, per The Mirror. “Other people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way.”

Before the 2025 interaction, Melania had also met Charles, then the Prince of Wales, when she accompanied her husband on a state visit to the UK in 2019.

The trio, alongside Camilla, shared an “intimate” dinner at the U.S. ambassador’s residence. She reflected on the experience in her 2024 memoir, “Melania,” per The Express US.

In the book, the Slovenian-born activist recalled sitting next to the then-Prince during the state dinner and said: “It was an absolute pleasure to reconnect with him.”

She also revealed that she and her husband have remained in contact with the monarch through letters, suggesting that the Trumps and the British royals share a warm relationship beyond the political tensions that sometimes exist between the U.S. and the UK.

‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Quietly Gave ‘Game of Thrones’ Fans a Reason To Believe in ‘The Winds of Winter’ Again

Published

on

George R.R. Martin and Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms defended the honor of HBO’s biggest fantasy franchise this year, and much like Ser Duncan the Tall, it inspired some people along the way. The latest Game of Thrones spinoff was a breath of fresh air for fans following the lackluster second season of House of the Dragon, as well as the public feud between that series’ showrunner Ryan Condal and author George R.R. Martin.

As many critics predicted, the antidote to franchise fatigue turned out to be this simple, earnest story of a true knight trying to live up to his vows. While nothing can completely eliminate negativity online, it’s clear that this show has led to a shift in the discourse, and even restored some fans’ hope that Martin will finish The Winds of Winter and the rest of A Song of Ice and Fire one day.

Fans of Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire are used to disappointment by now — from the main TV series’ infamous ending to the excruciating wait for the next book, The Winds of Winter, which is now in its 15th year. Fan forums and social media commentary have seen a marked dip in morale in recent years, which should come as no surprise. Many hoped that Martin’s writer’s block would break when the main series ended, while some hoped the spinoff shows would help redeem the franchise. Neither is entirely true, with some commenters even complaining that the spinoffs are distracting Martin from his work as a novelist, exacerbating the delay. As for Martin, he has vowed to stop trying to predict when he might finish after missing several self-imposed deadlines.

Who Was Ser Arlan Talking To?

Through it all, Martin himself has doggedly insisted that he will finish A Song of Ice and Fire, and that he is still actively working on it. At times, this is a comfort to fans, but at other times it only compounds the heartbreak. Dedicants of Martin walk a fine line between optimism and delusion, but many saw their hopes reflected perfectly in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 6, “The Morrow,” in the flashback scene where Dunk finally asks a dying Arlan why he never knighted him while he had the chance.

“A true knight always finishes a story,” the old hedge knight says with a smile. The line has a few layers of meaning within the scene itself — it refers to the story Arlan was in the middle of telling Dunk despite knowing he had heard it before, but it may also be an indirect answer to Dunk’s question about knighthood. At the same time, it seems to be a dry joke about Arlan’s impending death. It could even be a nod to Tyrion Lannister’s final monologue on Game of Thrones, where he declares that Bran Stark should be king because he symbolizes the best story for the Seven Kingdoms.

This cryptic quote may have more layers of meaning outside of Westeros as well. It clearly applies to Martin’s unfinished fantasy epic, but we can only speculate about how. Showrunner Ira Parker and the writers may have included this wink-and-nod moment as a bit of encouragement for Martin to finish his books, or as a bit of solidarity with impatient fans. On the other hand, Martin spent time with the writing staff himself, so it’s plausible that he suggested this line or approved of it while looking over the script. If so, it reads as a subtle promise to fans, in the absence of more concrete updates.

George R.R. Martin and Fans Need Hope More Than Ever

Whatever the case, fans definitely needed a ray of hope for the future of the A Song of Ice and Fire franchise. Back in 2023, many were devastated when HBO abruptly cut House of the Dragon from 10 episodes per season down to eight, which left Season 2 feeling haphazard and unfinished. On top of that, fans were shocked when Martin himself criticized the season harshly on his blog in a now-deleted post, heaping much of the blame on showrunner Condal. In interviews since then, Martin has been frank about his ongoing dislike of the direction the series is taking.

Martin’s issue seems to be primarily with House of the Dragon‘s changes to the story from his book, Fire & Blood, but he may be upset about ripple effects in the narrative which fans won’t see until Season 3 or even Season 4. Still, whether he’s right about these problems or not, it’s clear that they weren’t the real weakness of Season 2. The season had two episodes cut from its run-time and its budget late in the pre-production process, and the 2023 Writers’ Guild of America strike left little or no time to re-structure the story.

It’s odd to see Martin call out Condal so publicly when he has remained relatively positive on the ending of Game of Thrones itself. That, along with repeated delays to The Winds of Winter, has been eroding the optimism in the A Song of Ice and Fire fandom for the last few years. These days, even fans who still carry the torch for this book tend to acknowledge the absurdity of the long wait. Some have given up hope altogether, or lowered their expectations to hope for The Winds of Winter, but not the subsequent book that would finish the series.

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.

You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.

Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

As for Martin, his last direct progress report on the book was in a January interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he said that he has about 1,100 finished manuscript pages, and hundreds more to go. This is the same estimate Martin has been giving for several years now, which is disheartening. This year also saw a decrease in Martin’s blog activity — despite the premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is unusual for the author. Fans continue to spin out theories and speculation as always, but even some of the most die-hard have decided they can’t wait forever.

Despite it all, Martin continues to insist it is his ambition to finish his series, and fans must take him at his word. If Martin weren’t such a perfectionist, there might not be so many readers clamoring for this book in the first place. In the meantime, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the underdog champion the Game of Thrones franchise needs right now, and it’s clearly up to the task of keeping honor alive in Westeros. The series is streaming now on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, June 21.

Prince Harry Reportedly ‘Stung’ By Another Hollywood A-List Snub

Prince Harry is reportedly dealing with the loss of another Hollywood relationship, as insiders claim George Clooney “ghosted” the duke amid his growing rift wth the royal family.

The actor and his wife, Amal, were among the big names who graced the prince’s wedding to Meghan Markle, with the movie star at one point even being rumored to be Prince Archie’s godfather.

However, as things stand, George Clooney seems to have distanced himself from Prince Harry and Meghan, a reality insiders claim has been a “tough pill” for the Sussexes to swallow.

Eight years since their glamorous wedding, Harry and Meghan are said to be quickly losing A-list contacts in Hollywood, with George Clooney being the loss that has “stung” the Duke of Sussex the most.

“Out of all the friendships that have bitten the dust since Megxit, this is probably the one that still stings Harry the most,” an insider told Closer Online.

Early on, the Sussexes and the Clooneys seemed to have been forming a close bond due to their shared love for philanthropy. This budding friendship was put on display when the actor and his wife invited the royal couple to be guests at their Lake Como villa a few months after their wedding.

Also, in 2019, George was one of the big names defending Meghan while she was pregnant with her son, Prince Archie, accusing the media of “villainizing” the duchess, and even comparing the treatment she was facing to that of the late Princess Diana.

However, by 2023, a few years after Harry and Meghan quit their roles as working royals, the Clooneys made a move to support the royal family at the Prince’s Trust Awards, indicating there was a major shift in their relationship with the Sussexes, especially as it came shortly after the duke’s explosive memoir, “Spare.”

“[Harry] really believed that he, Meghan, George, and Amal made for a great combo, and it’s no exaggeration to say that he was counting on their help once they arrived in the States,” the source continued, adding that “the fact they got so brutally ghosted was a real tough pill” for the royal couple to swallow.

Nowadays, Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the Clooneys seems to be non-existent, with sources claiming the duo’s attempts to reach out to the Hollywood power couple have been shut down with excuses.

“It stings, big time,” the insider told the news outlet, adding that the duke and duchess have tried to contact the couple, “but their calls have either gone unanswered or on the rare occasions they’ve gotten through, it’s been a case of George and Amal fobbing them off with some type of excuse.”

Although Harry and Meghan are still optimistic about fixing their relationship with George and Amal Clooney, the source claims they are “past the point of groveling or reaching back out.”

“The brutal and hurtful bottom line is that they’re not interested in associating with Harry and Meghan, who have zero choice except to suck it up and move on with their lives,” the insider noted.

The situation with the Sussexes and the Clooneys has left Harry stumped as he is said to be unsure of where things went wrong, and allegedly blames his brother, Prince William, for the painful snub by the Hollywood power couple.

“Harry insists he has no idea why George suddenly ghosted him, although he does believe William is somehow to blame,” an insider claimed. “He just isn’t clear what reason George is using to justify what appears like having ghosted him.”

“And make no mistake, Harry does feel really put out by it,” they continued. “The guy was at his wedding and then suddenly he won’t answer his calls. It’s very painful because there’s no explanation, so Harry’s been left to fill in the blanks.”

George Clooney’s recent announcement that he’s stepping back from his career to focus on his philanthropy and other causes he finds “fulfilling” is said to have worsened things for the Duke of Sussex.

This is due to the loss of what Harry believes could have potentially been a great partnership with the Oscar award-winning actor.

“Here they are, both devoting themselves to helping the world with very similar goals and political views, and yet they’re worlds apart because George has iced him out for reasons totally unknown,” an insider told Closer Online.

The duke is said to be “hurt” and “angry” as he would have loved to work and team up with the influential movie star, as they share a lot in common.

Unfortunately, none of that is possible at the moment, seeing as neither he nor his wife, Meghan, can “even get an invite to George’s parties.”

Amid claims of strained ties with the Sussexes, George and Amal have not shied away from continuously showing their support for King Charles.

Weeks after the British monarch’s historic US trip, the movie star made an appearance in the UK as he attended the King’s Trust Award in Buckingham Palace, and was photographed shaking his hand.

According to Closer Online, George even made sure to commend Charles for the US visit, where he met with President Donald Trump, who is known to have a huge public feud with the actor.

“I am very proud to be here in support of the King, who was just in my country and performed rather well,” George said during his attendance at the King’s Trust Award.

Meanwhile, regarding his and Amal’s relationship with Harry and Meghan, an insider shared that the couple has simply decided to distance themselves from “the Sussex circus” to pay more attention to their humanitarian endeavors.

The power couple also reportedly did not want to be “painted as Team Sussex if they kept associating with Harry and Meghan,” so they have decided to “cut the cord” and move on from the Montecito-based royals.
