Matthew Rhys Reveals If Keri Russell Will Join Widow’s Bay
Matthew Rhys weighed in on the chance of working with Keri Russell on Widow’s Bay — or any other project — after their beloved collaboration on The Americans.
“Well, Keri and I discussed that. And then I discussed coming on The Diplomat and then playing Tom Loftis on The Diplomat, which is usually met with silence,” Rhys, 51, joked during an exclusive interview with Us at Brooklyn Bridge Marina on Tuesday, August 18, for the Brunswick Boat Group Event.
Rhys enjoyed the idea of sharing the screen with Russell, 50, again.
“There’s the danger [though] if you’re trying to recreate something,” he told Us about the couple not being in a rush to work together unless it felt like a good fit for both of them creatively. “If the right project came about and that made sense for us to be both in it. Because I think there’s a degree of, ‘Oh, you know why they’re doing it.’”
Rhys added: “If it made sense, absolutely. I’d love to.”
The Americans, which ran from 2013 to 2018, followed Elizabeth (Russell) and Philip Jennings (Rhys) as two Soviet KGB intelligence officers posing as an American married couple living in a Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C.
Rhys and Russell met while working on the critically acclaimed FX series and have been together ever since. They both branched out to different roles since their days on The Americans, with Russell being nominated for her work on The Diplomat and Rhys for his efforts on Widow’s Bay.
“I was fortunate enough to produce on Widow’s Bay and they were very gracious enough to include me,” Rhys told Us about being involved behind the scenes as well. “So I enjoy that inclusion. It feels like you’re an adult being asked to the adult’s table. But I also love the shock of reading and going, ‘Oh my God, I wasn’t expecting that.’”

While Rhys doesn’t know what comes next after Widow’s Bay got renewed for season 2 — and scored 19 Emmy nominations — he doesn’t mind speculating wildly.
“The question I’ve been asking Yana Grebenyuk Katie [Dippold] the most is, ‘What is the curse? The monster? The island? What is it?’ he noted. “So I’m so intrigued as to whether it’s something physical and tangible to be reasoned with or something inside us. I have no idea. I just know I’m glad I’m not writing it.”
He continued: “There’s a part of me that wants Hamish Linklater’s character, Richard, to come back. So I kind of want that to be the curse. He keeps knocking on my door and I’m always like, ‘What?’ And he is the curse and always ever present. I think there could be a lot of fun with that.”
As Rhys awaits the scripts for season 2, he is keeping busy by partnering with Brunswick Corporation in honor of the company’s latest innovations across boating, propulsion, navigation and marine technology.
“I remember thinking how calm it was. I think how calm water is in general and just thinking, ‘Oh, it’s just such a lovely way to spend some time,’” Rhys recalled how he fell in love with boating. “You’re just looking at the water.”
He added: “After a hectic day, there’s literally nothing I prefer more than coming to Brooklyn Bridge Park and ultimately Brooklyn Bridge Marina and just looking out at the water. That I think is the gold of what we have as New Yorkers is you are so close to looking at the water. It’s the greatest asset and to me is one of the most calming.”
Rhys spoke with Us while enjoying the views on the NAVAN C30. Brunswick also has other options including the Boston Whaler 405 Conquest, 210 Guardian and 330 Outrage, the Sea Ray SLX 360, the Elite, the Mercury Racing x MTI 440X Catamaran, the Textron TSUNAMI 25′ and more.
“I have no idea why but I had the mad idea of owning a boat, which is ridiculous. What you need are friends with boats. That’s what you should aim for,” Rhys joked. “Or what we try and offer here with Brunswick is an accessibility to the water without necessarily boat ownership, which is far more reasonable.”

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Plan Move Back to U.K. With Kids
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly moving back across the pond six years after leaving the U.K.
People reported on Wednesday, August 19, that Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, are relocating their children to the U.K. for an extended period starting this month. The pair’s son, Prince Archie, 7, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, 5, are scheduled to begin school there in September.
The outlet reported that Harry and Meghan will keep their home in Montecito, California, and their vacation residence in Portugal while having non-royal property in Britain.
Harry’s father, King Charles III, learned of the pair’s move on Sunday, August 16, People reported. The monarch is reportedly welcoming the opportunity to see Harry and Meghan and their family in a private manner.
People also reported that Meghan will continue to lead her lifestyle brand, As Ever, from their international home. Harry, meanwhile, will be spending more time supporting U.K.-based charities and patronages. The outlet reported that the family’s long-term plans for their residences are unclear.
Us reached out to reps for Harry and Meghan for comment.

Harry and Meghan’s move comes six years after the couple announced their decision to step back as senior members of the royal family. The pair, who tied the knot in 2018, briefly relocated to Vancouver, Canada, before settling down in California in 2020.
Harry and Meghan have given fans glimpses of their home in Golden State through the years, but the Suits alum opted not to film her With Love, Meghan docuseries in their residence.
“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” Meghan told People in a 2025 interview. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day. Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house.”
Earlier this summer, Meghan shared snippets of her travels abroad with Harry and their children. One image Meghan snapped and shared via Instagram is believed to have been taken at Althorp House, the Spencer family estate where Harry’s late mother grew up. (Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer, currently lives on the property. She was buried in the “Oval Lake” island after her death in August 1997 at age 36.)
In the photo, Harry and Archie were carrying large white floral bouquets down a tree-lined path. Lilibet ran behind them as she carried a small purse in both of her hands. It is unclear whether Harry brought his family to visit Diana’s gravesite or home.
“Summer Holiday ☀️,” Meghan captioned the Instagram upload.

A source exclusively tells Us that Jenna Dewan will be hitting the ballroom, while a separate insider shares that Bachelor Nation fan favorite Tyler Cameron also will be lacing up his dancing shoes for the upcoming season.
Tyler’s casting comes five years after BFF and former Bachelor Matt James tried his hand at the competition with pro Lindsay Arnold on season 30. (The duo danced together for four weeks before they were eliminated.)
Us reached out to ABC for comment.
The full DWTS cast — including pros and celebrities — is set to be revealed on Good Morning America on September 2, though four contestants have already been officially announced.
Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Summer House star Ciara Miller, Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez will all be trying to Cha-Cha their way to the top of the leaderboard this season. Guillermo, 55, will be doing so with reigning champion and pro Witney Carson, who announced their partnership on Monday, August 17.
“I think he is so sweet. He’s so fun,” Witney said on GMA at the time. “That’s exactly what I need in this season of life that I’m in, just someone who’s fun, personable.”
Witney, who took home the mirrorball with wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin in season 34, also shared that she will be competing while navigating her third pregnancy. (Witney and her husband, Carson McAllister, are already parents of sons Leo, 5, and Jet, 3.)
“I would be lying if I said it wasn’t very daunting. I’ve never been this far along pregnant and competing on Dancing With the Stars, ever,” Witney said. “I don’t know if it’s ever been done. I’m so proud to be a woman, to be creating life and growing this human, and to be able to do the show and compete … is such a huge blessing.”
One day later, Witney shared a glimpse of her and Guillermo in the rehearsal studio gearing up for the premiere.
“When you and your partner get along instantly >> can’t wait for this season!” Witney captioned Tuesday, August 18, TikTok footage with Guillermo, who mouthed in the clip, “Where have you been?” Witney then lip-synched back the viral TikTok sound, “Nobody knows me like you do.”
Dancing With the Stars season 35 kicks off with a double premiere on ABC and Disney+ Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET.

Halle Berry Shares Photos From 60th Birthday Trip With Fiancé
Halle Berry brought fans along for her “magical” 60th birthday trip with her fiancé, Van Hunt, in Mexico.
On Wednesday, August 19, the Oscar winner shared a carousel of intimate photos of her and Hunt, 56, sunbathing, sightseeing on a yacht and sharing some PDA in a private pool while celebrating her birthday at a resort in Los Cabos, Mexico.
“Some experiences stay with you forever,” Berry beamed via Instagram. “Thank you @zadunreserve @ritzcarltonreserve for making every moment of my 60th birthday celebration simply magical!”
The X-Men star went on to reveal some of the exciting activities she took part in while vacationing with her beau.
“The cuisine, Sensei wellness spa, wine making experience and boat adventures were beyond exquisite! This was a big birthday and, along with @vanhunt, you made it one I shall never forget,” she declared. “Special thank you to @gigioromero And Christian for making it all extra FUN !🤩”
When Berry officially turned 60 on Friday, August 14, she thanked her fans for sending her plenty of “birthday love.”
“Thank you from my ❤️ for all the birthday love and well wishes. I’m grateful to still be here,” she wrote via Instagram last Friday.
Prior to her milestone birthday, Berry discussed what it meant for her to turn 60 during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle in May.
“[I feel] great, because, you know, the opposite would be tragic if I weren’t here,” she pointed out. “I feel different than I thought I would feel at 60. What is 60? What is age anymore? It’s a feeling.”
Berry added, “I feel stronger, smarter, wiser, more myself, more in control. I’m the best version of myself at this time in my life and I am so glad that I’m still here and healthy.”
The Monster’s Ball star also opened up about being booked and busy nearly 40 years after she made her screen debut in 1989’s Living Dolls.
“I’m still alive in it. I haven’t gone off into the sunset,” she said. “I haven’t fallen off. I’m still here doing it on my own terms.”
Berry shared another important milestone earlier this year when she confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February that she’d got engaged to Hunt after six years of dating.
“There’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no. I did not say no,” she clarified. “We just don’t have a date. But of course I said yes, I would marry him!”
Berry flashed her diamond engagement ring, confirming, “He did put a little ring on it.”
The actress was previously married to former baseball star David Justice from 1993 to 1997 and later to singer Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005. More recently, Berry was married to third husband Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016. (Berry shares 18-year-old daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and also welcomed 12-year-old son Maceo-Robert Martinez with Olivier.)

8 Greatest Remakes of Classic Horror Movies
Audiences have ubiquitously become suspicious of “remakes” of classic films. This is generally because the motivation for remaking an iconic moving picture seems solely financial in nature. Studios are aware that “name recognition” of a film or franchise equals guaranteed revenue, which puts large Cheshire Cat grins on the faces of the execs. But then, every once in a while, a remake of a classic comes along that is equal to, or, heaven forfend, even exceeds the original.
While some resplendent remakes didn’t make this list, like Alexandre Aja‘s The Hills Have Eyes (a remake of the same name) and both Werner Herzog’s Nosferatu the Vampyre and Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu (new renditions of the 1922 German hit Nosferatu), the films detailed here are the crème of the horror crop. The winners include zesty entries like The Blob and genuinely terrifying additions such as Evil Dead. All in all, these eight films deviously demonstrate that classics can sometimes use a jaunty, haunting update — when, of course, the material is placed within capable hands.
8
‘Evil Dead’ (2013)
Sam Raimi’s original 1981 cult favorite film, The Evil Dead, was quite ground-(and cabin floorboard)-breaking. Featuring Bruce Campbell in his truly career-defining role of Ashley “Ash” J. Williams, this horror-comedy was innovative in just about every department; scary sequences, gross-out gore, campy humor, and a uniquely intimate vibe all around. The remake, Evil Dead, released in 2013, eschewed the majority of the first film’s lauded attributes and focused almost solely on one thing: pure terror. The result, which many viewers agreed on, is one of the scarier movies of the 21st century.
This film focuses on Mia (Jane Levy), a girl who has had a nearly lifelong struggle with addiction. She assembles her brother, David (Shiloh Fernandez), and friends at a very remote cabin with the goal of finally kicking her narcotics habit and getting clean. The only problem is that a demonic entity is released there as well, and everyone’s life and soul are in mortal, eternal jeopardy. Huge applause to the committed cast for bringing this to life, but perhaps an even bigger ovation goes out to director/co-writer Fede Alvarez and the FX team, who created some of the most chilling, and flat-out evil, visuals to come around in a long time.
7
‘The Blob’ (1988)
For a film reliant on special effects, the 1958 original version of The Blob was pretty good. Yes, when viewed through a modern lens, the titular goo is fairly laughable now, but for back then, it actually scared people. So, when Chuck Russell tackled this film in 1988, the expectations were naturally a lot higher, in terms of what this amorphous thing was going to look like and just how frightening it could potentially be. As audiences soon found out, The Blob exceeded expectations and produced some of the most memorable (and revolting) body horror sequences of the 80s.
The tale is centered on the inhabitants of a small town where a “meteor” crashes and releases a little jelly-like organism. The thing is voracious though, and quickly begins snacking on the locals. The genius aspect of this (the same as in the original) is that the blob doesn’t seem to have a limit to its size. The more it consumes, the larger it gets (like the national debt). This concept, when applied to the 80s, could be a metaphor for rampant consumerism and greed (and the duplicity of the government). Nevertheless, this film succeeds because of the FX team’s stellar depiction of not only the gross blob, but in how it ingests its victims. The cast is great too, with future Entourage louche Kevin Dillon, as the bad boy Brian Flagg, and future Saw star Shawnee Smith, as the prim and proper cheerleader Meg Penny. They are forced to team up and figure out a way to defeat this vile thing, when the “adults” don’t seem to have a clue. The Blob is a great 80s horror flick, and definitely a new classic.
6
‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ (1978)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers has gone through a variety of mediums and intriguing incarnations. It originated in literary form, as a novel by Jack Finney, called The Body Snatchers. It then made the leap to the silver screen in 1956, in a film adaptation by Don Siegel. This movie is nothing to thumb one’s nose at; it was very well-done, capturing the stark paranoia of the Cold War/McCarthyism period in the U.S. And then, 22 years later, Philip Kaufman took a stab at the sci-fi-horror material and delivered one of the absolute best alien movies of all time.
The eerily prescient tale follows a San Francisco health inspector, Matthew Bennell (Donald Sutherland, who will forever be remembered for the face he makes at the end of this movie), and his co-worker, Elizabeth Driscoll (Brooke Adams, who is on the receiving end of Donny’s scream-face). They both notice that people in their inner circle and beyond are acting rather…odd. This may be because alien pods came down from space, gestated, grew into replicas of the people in town, and now are on a lethal quest to eliminate the unassimilated. Cashing in on the widespread isolation and governmental distrust that many people felt during this time in America, Snatchers really made the most of the moment. Indeed, the filmmakers truly had their thumbs on the pulse of the national movie-going audience; it’s almost as if they were in their heads…and bodies…
5
‘Suspiria’ (2018)
There is absolutely no argument that the original 1977 Dario Argento film Suspiria is a true horror classic. It’s visually sumptuous, thematically striking, and laden with great performances (it’s arguably Argento’s finest film). However, the spin that Luca Guadagnino (also Italian, believe it or not) put on this story is truly dynamic; he imbued the core tale with even more depth and metaphorical magnitude. 2018’s Suspiria is a film ostensibly about witches and dance, but it’s also a beautifully grotesque ballet in its own right, brimming with superbly choreographed sequences and horrifying revelations.
Susie (Dakota Johnson) is an American dancer who has just enrolled in a Berlin dance school. The year is 1977 (the same year as Argento’s masterpiece) and the country of Germany is still struggling with post-War anxieties and its sense of international identity. Guadagnino draws parallels between the coven of witches that run the dance academy (headed by the always intriguingly sinewy Tilda Swinton as Madame Blanc — she’s also cast as an old man and an old witch) and the Nazi regime. The socio-political commentary of the film is extremely well-thought-out, but its sinister sequences of savage sadism and wanton witchcraft are what make it shine (even if the color palette is much more drab than Argento’s bodaciously bold one).
4
‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ (1992)
1931’s Dracula certainly set the gold standard for vampire films. As the first licensed rendition of the Bram Stoker novel, it went above and beyond what viewers had seen before in terms of mood, setting, and overall horror. Ergo, when a fresh retelling of the actual book was announced, audiences knew that if it was going to truly succeed, it would need someone quite mighty at the helm. Enter Francis Ford Coppola — a director who knows a thing or two about “family” bonds.
As in the original iteration, the story focuses on a real estate deal, a subsequently obsessed count, a rollicking boat ride, a bizarre British courtship, and finally, an epically cinematic, Romanian finale that will last several lifetimes. Aside from the poor, miscast Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker, the rest of the ensemble here delivers sensational performances all around. Winona Ryder as Mina is inspired, as she vacillates from doe-eyed ingénue to hot-blooded temptress. Sir Anthony Hopkins as Van Helsing is fantastic, too, as he brings both gravitas and humor to this storied role. Finally, Gary Oldman as the titular Dracula is a marvel to behold. He’s over the top and somehow subtle at the same time. He’s simultaneously magnetic and repulsive, too. He simply IS Dracula — a very polarizing figure. Ford’s treatment of this Gothic tale is magnificent, as he absolutely does the novel justice, and provides a brilliantly bloody good time.
3
‘The Ring’ (2002)
Never has a week (7 days) been more terrifying. The first film, 1998’s Ringu, directed by Hideo Nakata, is definitely one of the superlative, most terrifying films to come out of Japan. The sheer ingenuity of the plot and simplicity of the ghost (all sans gore) are what make it so impactful. The 2002 remake, directed by Gore Verbinkski, not only maintained the elements that made the original so delicious, but also added a creepy collection of other motifs and shockingly severe visuals that elevate this film to one of the scarier entries in the American horror collection.
The tale, as in the Japanese original, is of a journalist, Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts), whose niece, Katie (Amber Tamblyn), dies in a very odd manner. Rachel not only wants to find out what happened to her deceased relative, but she also really wants to crack this juicy scoop. She eventually uncovers the dark truth that Katie’s death is linked to a videotape that depicts a weird tableau of preterite, folk horror images — including, most importantly, a well (and a devious little girl, Samara — exquisitely played by Daveigh Chase). Well, there you have it. Themes of evolving tech and the horrors that it brings are rife in this lurid work, yet it still always feels quite analog, in the very best, creepiest way. The color palette that Verbinksi employs is one of the most memorable aspects of the film too, as the rich, fecund undertones of the Pacific Northwest are truly felt and absorbed. The bone-chilling images, intense performances, and overall dark beauty of this movie all coalesce to render one of the best film remakes of all time.
2
‘The Thing’ (1982)
Here’s the thing about The Thing. The first “thing,” the monster from another world in the 1951 movie… The Thing from Another World, was a pretty cool achievement in mid-century special effects. The, uh, creature, in the remake is one of the most spectacular displays of practical effects in cinema. John Carpenter’s handling of the material will forever go down in the annals of film history as one of the most creative re-imaginings of a previous (quality) film.
The story follows a team of scientists who were sent to the frosty Antarctic wilds to conduct research and do science things. Soon they encounter a shape-shifting entity that mystifies and confuses as much as it terrifies and kills. No one is safe from this master of facial, body, and vocal disguise, as it assumes all different human features like a charm (and even those of other species, woof woof). It really is a thing of beauty. Carpenter worked with SFX makeup specialist Rob Bottin (who was only 22 at the time) to bring the otherworldly creature to life, and boy, does this thing pop. The mind-blowing effects mixed with a truly complex and layered story — and a phenomenal cast (with Kurt Russell in the lead as R.J. MacReady) — all synchronize to make The Thing a can’t-miss sci-fi horror remake. Similar to Snatchers, themes of eroded identity, surreptitious subterfuge, and a world where no one is actually what they appear are in full (amazing special) effect.
1
‘The Fly’ (1986)
David Cronenberg’s sci-fi body horror/tragic love story, The Fly, is pretty much the epitome of a remake that blows its predecessor out of the water. Essentially every aspect of this film is perfect, from the knockout performances by the two leads, Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis (and even a great supporting turn by a monkey), to the cleverly designed story, to the unprecedented, out of-this-world practical effects and monstrous makeup.
The original Kurt Neumann 1958 flick followed the same general premise as the updated film: a brilliant, yet overly ambitious scientist devises a way to teleport physical material. Eager to use living subjects (and too impatient to wait for proper clearance/willing human test subjects), Seth Brundle (Goldblum) opts to turn himself into a modern-day Magellan. A little bugger of a bug gets stuck in the portal and voilà: the bilious BrundleFly is born. The fused creature of a housefly and a human being initially looks just like the same old Seth, but eventually the insect DNA begins to manifest, and this really puts a fly in the ointment. What Seth morphs into is a revolting display of what unchecked pride and impetuousness can sadly create. As Seth’s (pre-mutated) love interest, the science journalist Veronica Quaife (Davis), witnesses her new beau’s transformation into the horrific hybrid, she does her best to keep it together — but, jeez, there’s a limit, people. Overall, this film is a terrifying critique of unregulated technology (A.I. developers, we’re looking in your direction). When it comes to remaking classics and then exceeding them, yes, filmmakers of the past, you should “be afraid, be very afraid.”

10 Greatest American Rock Albums of All Time
Say what you will about the state of modern rock music, but for decades it topped the charts, creating iconic bands and artists who are timeless today. Many of rock’s biggest acts didn’t come from America though. AC/DC is from Australia and U2 call Ireland home. Then there’s the British bands. So much rock history comes from across the pond, like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and countless others. Don’t be discouraged, American fans. Rock was born in the U.S.A. with Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley, and along the way, these 10 bands and their masterpiece albums are just a few that perfectly represented the red, white, and blue.
10
‘Appetite for Destruction’ by Guns N’ Roses (1987)
Hairbands ruled the 1980s. They were soft, top 40 nothingness that all sounded the same. Enter Los Angeles’ Guns N’ Roses. With their big hair, they looked just like everyone else. Then the music began. GN’R’s 1987 debut, Appetite for Destruction, was a smash success of raw, unfiltered hard rock. It held on to the charts for so long that it resulted in five singles being put out over two full years. Axl Rose’s distinct voice and Slash’s guitar riffs were made for each other on the high energy “Welcome to the Jungle” and the ballad “Sweet Child O’Mine.” The album was indeed destruction, tearing down the malaise of the decade and kicking the genre in the face.
9
‘Wildflowers’ by Tom Petty (1994)
Florida’s Tom Petty first rose to prominence in the 1970s with his band The Heartbreakers and the supergroup Traveling Wilburys. With each iteration of himself, Petty only got better. He arguably reached his peak as a solo act. After the critical and commercial success of his debut solo album, Full Moon Fever, in 1989, Petty returned five years later with 1994’s Wildflowers. Producing popular radio staples such as “You Don’t Know How It Feels” and “Wreck Me,” Wildflowers doesn’t succeed by being grand and experimental. Petty was at his best by getting to the catchy basics, with lyrics that dug into your soul.
8
‘Born to Run’ by Bruce Springsteen (1975)
New Jersey’s Bruce Springsteen is Americana. From his infatuation with the heartland and its people, and his passion for politics, he bleeds patriotism. He’s been at it for over 50 years and is still going strong, but in 1975, at just the age of 26, he broke out in a huge way with his third album, Born to Run. From instant classics like the title track and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” Springsteen, and his not-to-be understated E Street Band, created anthems for the working man and his home state. Bruce is a masterful storyteller. This is where the legend was truly born.
7
‘1984’ by Van Halen (1984)
Rock and roll doesn’t always have to be serious to be great. Just ask California’s Van Halen. They could be serious when they wanted to be, but they were also the fun band who got the listener up on their feet and dancing to the rhythm. Although they had three lead singers during their career, the original version with David Lee Roth is by far the best. They were never better than on their last album with Roth, 1984. It’s a sonic blast of up-tempo brilliance. It’s impossible to listen to “Jump,” “Panama,” or “Hot for Teacher” and not feel the enthusiasm. Throw in the impossible guitar wizardry of Eddie Van Halen and 1984 is unforgettable.
6
‘Boston’ by Boston (1976)
The band Boston is from, well, Boston. They weren’t prolific, putting out only six albums over three decades, but they left a lasting impression with their iconic debut, also titled Boston. In 1976, the album was everywhere. Its pop culture takeover couldn’t be avoided. “More Than a Feeling” was a rock radio sensation. It’s more than just a one-song album. Every single track matters and demands to be heard. Guitarist Tom Scholz holds the listener in the palm of his hand, and vocalist Brad Delp‘s beautiful voice has you feeling every single soulful word coming out of him. May he rest in peace.
5
‘Blood on the Tracks’ by Bob Dylan (1975)
Before Bruce Springsteen, there was the Minnesota-born Bob Dylan. He was at the forefront in a demand for governmental change in the 1960s. In the 1970s, he was still at it and didn’t miss a beat. At the age of 34, he delivered his whopping 15th album, 1975’s Blood on the Tracks. In songs like the hit “Tangled Up in Blue,” Dylan had so much to say. The double album, recorded in both Minneapolis and New York City, is Dylan at his emotionally most vulnerable, with a sound that’s stripped to the bare basics, and only the melody and the words matter.
4
‘L.A. Woman’ by The Doors (1971)
Many fans of The Doors, who got their start in Los Angeles, might put their self-titled debut in this spot. That’s a tempting and well-deserving choice. Instead of their first, however, we’ll go with the last they put out before Jim Morrison‘s untimely death at the age of 27, 1971’s L.A. Woman. Topped by the singles “Love Her Madly” and the trippy “Riders on the Storm,” the 60s beat they were known for is minimalized in favor of a more unpolished sound that’s rock meets the blues. And never has an organ sounded this cool.
3
‘Hotel California’ by Eagles (1976)
The Eagles are another rock band from Los Angeles. Five years after first getting together, they released their fifth album, Hotel California. The title track gets all the attention due to it being one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded, but the rest of the album deserves accolades as well. Despite being about life in California, it’s not all sunshine in these songs. The songwriting is among the best ever created. As great as Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Don Felder were, it was the addition of Joe Walsh and his guitar mastery which took them to a new level.
2
‘Pet Sounds’ by The Beach Boys (1966)
The mid 1960s were all about Brit rock, with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones taking the shores of America by storm. But if you want the most famous of California rock, you can’t go wrong with The Beach Boys. In 1966, after years of making more simple surfer rock, the band transformed with their album Pet Sounds. Songs like “God Only Knows” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” sound like they were performed by angels from a sunlit Heaven. It’s crystal clear beauty, with transcendent harmonies and evolved lyrics. You can argue that it’s just as great as anything The Beatles were doing at the same time.
1
‘Nevermind’ by Nirvana
1991 was one of the greatest years in rock history. Bands like Metallica, Pearl Jam, Soungarden, and Red Hot Chili Peppers all released career-defining albums. Topping them all was Seattle’s Nirvana with their second album and major label debut, Nevermind. Producer Butch Vig added a contemporary gloss to the collection of verse-chorus-verse collection of punk pop. The first song, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” was an anthem for a tired and frustrated Gen X. In Kurt Cobain, they found their flannel-wearing John Lennon. Nevermind is no one-man band though. Bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl add so much to songs like “Lithium” and “In Bloom.” It’s impossible to describe just how much this one album meant to rock and roll. Long live the 90s and the era of grunge.

Post Malone Gets Engaged Again After His Custody Battle
Post Malone is engaged again, marking a major romantic milestone with Christy Lee after the couple kept much of their relationship away from the spotlight.
The Grammy winner reportedly proposed with a massive engagement ring, with the news emerging through a friend’s social media post rather than from the couple themselves.
The announcement comes after the pair quietly built their relationship over the past year, first drawing attention when they were spotted together in Paris.
Post Malone and Christy Lee are officially engaged, with Lee debuting her new ring in a series of celebratory Instagram Stories shared by her friend Marina Hollyer on Wednesday, August 19.
Hollyer posted a photo of the couple embracing as Lee showed off the diamond ring, veil, and a “Bride to Be” sash. “My best friend in the world just got engaged, Love you more than words Toph!!!” Hollyer wrote in her caption per PEOPLE.
She also shared a group photo featuring the newly engaged couple and their friends, along with another picture of Lee holding her hand to her mouth while displaying the ring.
The engagement follows a romance that initially unfolded quietly. The pair were first linked after being spotted together in March 2025.
The following month, they were seen enjoying dinner at the high-end Paris steakhouse Beefbar before stepping out for a shopping trip. During that outing, the pair were photographed kissing after visiting several designer stores.
Now, more than a year after their first public sightings, the couple is preparing for marriage, with their engagement marking the latest chapter in a relationship they have largely kept private.
Malone’s Relationship With Jamie Park Ended Before He Found Love Again

Post Malone’s engagement to Lee marks a new chapter in his personal life, but it comes after the end of a long and largely private relationship with Hee Sung “Jamie” Park, the mother of his daughter.
Malone and Park had been together for years and became engaged in 2021, with the rapper later revealing that they had welcomed their first child in May 2022.
He kept much of their relationship away from the public eye, including Park’s identity, which was not widely known until court documents surfaced after their split.
By late 2024, however, the couple had quietly ended their relationship, with Malone subsequently linked to Lee in early 2025.
According to reports, Malone’s relationship with Park had ended before his romance with Lee became public.
Post Malone’s Breakup With Park Led To A Custody Fight Over Their Daughter
Sadly, Malone’s relationship with Park ended with a complicated custody dispute involving their young daughter.
As The Blast stated, Park filed for primary physical custody in Los Angeles Superior Court in April 2025.
The filing sought primary physical custody of their daughter, who was identified in court documents only by her initials, DDP.
Park also requested joint legal custody and indicated that she was willing to give Malone visitation rights. She further asked that Malone cover her legal fees.
The filing marked the first major public glimpse into the private relationship Malone had carefully kept away from the spotlight.
The 31-year-old had deliberately avoided publicly identifying Park or sharing images of their child. He had previously explained that he wanted his daughter to decide for herself when she was ready to have her life made public.
Malone Scored A Legal Victory In Custody Battle With His Ex-Fiancée

The custody dispute continued to develop over the following months, with Post Malone securing an important legal development in July 2025.
The Blast revealed that the “Sunflower” singer had scored a victory in the battle with Park over their daughter.
The development came after both sides had filed competing custody proceedings in different states. Park had sought primary physical custody in Los Angeles, while Malone’s filings maintained that Utah was the more appropriate jurisdiction for their daughter’s custody case.
The jurisdiction mattered because Malone and Park had previously shared custody in Utah, where their daughter had lived, and California generally had higher child-support obligations.
Sources close to the case said Park had moved to California after the couple split in late 2024, allegedly to establish residency before pursuing custody there.
Malone disputed that arrangement in court, arguing that their daughter had strong ties to Utah and should remain there.
His attorneys had also sought to have Park’s California petition dismissed, describing the move as an attempt to shift the case to a more favorable jurisdiction.
On July 21, 2025, Park voluntarily dismissed the California case, meaning the custody dispute would continue in Utah instead.
Post Malone And Park Eventually Settled Their Custody Battle

The legal battle between Malone and Park ultimately ended later that year, when the former couple reached an agreement regarding their daughter.
According to court documents filed in Utah on November 13, 2025, the duo’s agreement addressed custody, visitation rights and child support, while another report revealed it also addressed paternity and parenting time.
However, the precise terms of the agreement were not made public. TMZ also noted that the arrangement could include other matters, such as health insurance for their daughter, but those details were likewise unavailable because of the sealed agreement.

How Carrie Ann Inaba Handles Criticism From DWTS Fans
Carrie Ann Inaba is no stranger to navigating criticism from devoted Dancing With the Stars fans — but she wasn’t always so confident.
“In the beginning when it first started, I was not used to it. I was a dancer, and when you’re a dancer, you’re used to everybody loving you. So I went from that to becoming sort of a villain in so many ways,” Carrie Ann, 58, exclusively told Us while promoting her partnership with Novartis.
Carrie Ann has held her position at the judges table since the show’s 2005 premiere, most recently sitting beside Bruno Tonioli and former DWTS champion Derek Hough. For Carrie Ann, staying true to herself is vital when navigating all the online noise.
“I think in this life, everybody’s dealing with that. Everybody’s got an opinion about something. We’re also divided about everything. So I think everyone is going through that,” she said. “I want people to be able to have their opinion, just like I have my opinion. I think that that’s fair. So I really have this strong fairness thing. Like I need everything to be fair. So if I get to have my opinion, I have to be strong enough to hear other people’s opinion. I’ve always told myself that from day one.”
She continued, “When people give me their opinion, sometimes I engage because I want to know why. Because we’re all learning, right? I think it’s always interesting to hear people’s opinion. And sometimes when I know it’s just being cruel, then I don’t engage.”
Carrie Ann pointed to the fact that DWTS is a “group collaborative effort,” noting that fans are “what make the show” and — of course — ultimately cast their votes on the competing couples.
“They are the ones who get those people going,” she said. “I mean, I think last year we had like 75 million votes in the finale. Yeah, I mean that’s a lot of people getting involved, and that’s wonderful. So how could I ever be upset about whatever their opinion is? I’m just happy that they have one.”
After fellow judge Len Goodman died, Carrie Ann recalled feeling an innate need “as the woman” on the panel to “always, kind of, step in and fill the holes.”
“Sometimes I think we need to just put down the foot right, but I’ve always been that way. Like I just always trust what I see and I always trust myself in those moments because you have to, right?” she explained. “The truth is, you know, we get a lot of feedback, and me, I get a lot of feedback about what I say and what I do because I’m a woman, and we know that. But that’s OK. So therefore, I must be sure, and I must feel good in what I say, so I always just check in here and I say what I really mean, and I know my intentions.”
She continued, “I’m always there to help the person who’s in front of me. I’m not there for anyone else. I’m not there to look good. I’m not there to be popular. I’m there to make sure that the person dancing in front of me gets any information that could help them get what they want out of the show, and so that’s what I’m always doing with my comments. Sometimes I don’t get them out in the most eloquent way. I don’t know any of the people who are watching who think they could do it either in 15 seconds.”

While navigating criticism from fans, Carrie Ann has also been quietly battling Sjögren’s disease. Per the Mayo Clinic, Sjögren’s disease leads to the body accidentally attacking its own tissue and can affect glands that make moisture in the eyes and mouth.
“It’s challenging because you can’t see this disease on the outside,” she said. “Especially, I think for me, it’s a very unique situation because I work in television, and I have a team that puts me together. So if I’m really not feeling good, I look like I’m feeling good, right? That’s kind of the point of having the 19 people that are standing right here helping me out.”
While Carrie Ann previously worried that Sjögren’s disease may impact her DWTS career after she missed the first episode of last season, she’s hoping that speaking about her health battle through Novartis for the Sjöut for Sjögren‘s campaign can help spread awareness.
“I think a lot of people who deal with something like Sjögren’s disease and are battling chronic illness go through these moments where you wonder if you can keep going, if you can keep your job,” she said. “That’s why it’s so important to have conversations like this about it.”

Christie Brinkley’s Hamptons Top Transitions to Fall — The Look
Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!
Christie Brinkley knows how to show up and show out, and yes, we’re referring to the gorgeous coastal-chic outfit she flaunted for a ‘fit check.’ Her look gives instant Hamptons rich mom style, thanks to a few staple pieces that are flowy, comfortable and downright flattering. We’re obsessing over the entire ensemble, but her striped top really seals the nautical deal.
The supermodel was on her way to a Solving Kids Cancer benefit when she stopped to give fans a glimpse at her outfit of the day. For the rainy weather, Brinkley styled a yellow waterproof jacket over a Jean Paul Gaultier maxi skirt, adding a wicker tote bag, rope belt and Loewe sandals. However, what gave the star’s outfit that quintessential beachy look was her top, which she calls “a classic French T-shirt.” We may not know where she got her exact shirt, but we found a near-identical option that transitions so well from summer to fall.
Get the LilyCoco Striped Long-Sleeve Shirt for $10 (was $29) at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
The LilyCoco Striped Long-Sleeve Shirt is relaxed yet polished, giving the same vibes as Brinkley’s top for (probably) much less than her actual style. In fact, this shirt is 66% off right now on Amazon, bringing the price down to only $10 — although no one would ever think you got this elevated-looking pick for such a steal.
Similar to Brinkley’s choice, this Amazon find has a white base with blue Breton stripes, long sleeves and a high neckline. We also really like the elongating boatneck style, which is super trendy at the moment. Brinkley didn’t tuck her top in, but the loose fit allows you to do so with jeans, trousers and skirts.
Made from a cotton-blend fabric, the shirt is ideal for both summer and fall events. It’s breathable and light enough for warm temperatures and layering-friendly days. Shoppers confirm that the body-fitting shirt is soft, provides a decent amount of stretch and feels structured, so you can wear it over and over without showing ‘wear.’
Brinkley isn’t the only one fawning over the Breton shirt style. Over 800 shoppers gave the piece a perfect five-star rating, including one person ready to buy it in other colors.
“The fit was perfect, and the fabric looked much more expensive,” they wrote. “I have worn it with jeans and under a sweater to dress it up. The cut is very flattering and versatile to wear at several different places. I received several compliments.”
Another person who claims to be a “clothing snob” wrote, “I feel the quality of this tee is as nice as the Boden tops, and I do own a few of them. I will definitely be ordering more of these in more colors!”
You may not have a benefit event to attend, but that shouldn’t stop you from scoring this chic striped tee to channel Brinkley’s look. And because the top transitions well from season to season, you’ll get so much use out of it! Grab the on-sale shirt now while it’s only $10.

Hayden Panettiere’s Nashville Costar Jonathan Jackson on Her Death
Hayden Panettiere’s Nashville costar Jonathan Jackson opened up about his “shock and grief” over her death at age 36.
“I have no words to express the loss of our beloved Hayden,” Jackson, 44, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, August 19. “She had such a bright light within her. She was a sensitive soul. Incredibly funny and witty. Amazingly gifted, with a great sense of empathy and compassion. We both grew up in the industry, although she started even younger than me, but we shared that. A silent knowing of how intense the struggles can be.”
The two worked closely on the music-themed drama series, which ran from 2012 to 2016 on ABC and later from 2016 to 2018 on CMT. Panettiere played rising country music star Juliette Barnes while Jackson portrayed Juliette’s husband, bad boy Avery Barkley.
“She was an absolute joy to work with. Focused, spontaneous and brilliant,” Jackson remembered. “The most important thing between friends and coworkers is trust, and we had this. Lisa [Vultaggio, his wife] and I both love and cherish her deeply, like our own sister. She holds that place in our hearts. My prayer for her every day we worked together was that she would know how loved she is, and that she would find the peace that she was looking for.”
The Greenville Police Department announced on Sunday, August 16, that Panettiere was found “unresponsive” at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina. She was later pronounced dead from a suspected overdose.
An autopsy completed on Monday, August 17 determined that “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed” to Panettiere’s death. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office clarified that an official cause of death will be announced “pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.”
“It’s not possible to express the shock and grief that so many of us feel right now,” Jackson wrote in reference to Panettiere’s death. “Our humble prayers are with her family. May God’s angels carry you to your place of rest and true peace. We love you Hayden. You will always be in our hearts. Always.”
Several Nashville cast members have publicly paid tribute to Panettiere in the days since her death was announced. Connie Britton — who played Juliette Barnes’ rival Rayna Jaymes on Nashville — described her late costar as “bursting with brilliance [and] shining so bright.”

“I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak. I love you girl. Sleep easy now,” Britton, 59, wrote via Instagram on Monday.
Charles Esten shared the charming story of how he met Panettiere during the show’s audition process. (He appeared as songwriter Deacon Claybourne on Nashville.)
“I will never forget the first time I met her,” Esten recalled via Instagram on Monday. “In a sound stage office in Hollywood, I was finishing up my very first Nashville audition. I had read two Deacon scenes before pulling out my guitar and singing two songs. I said my goodbyes and, hoping I’d done well, went to open the door to leave. Instead of swinging all the way out, the door bumped into somebody. Kinda hard.”
The actor continued, “To my complete surprise, It was Hayden Panettiere, who — in full Juliette Barnes mode — had been listening with her ear to the door. Instead of looking even a little bit caught, her face instantly bloomed into the most beautiful smile. Eyes twinkling, she clapped her hands and said, ‘That was so good!!’”
Esten remembered developing an instant rapport with his future costar in that moment.
“I told her that, along with my Heroes-watching family, I was already a big fan of hers, and that I was grateful for the very kind words. It was her turn to go in, so as I went to leave, I said a jokingly cocky, ‘See you on the set,’” he wrote. “I was, of course, many auditions away from landing that incredible role. But when I finally did, and showed up in Nashville to start work, she walked right up to me, pointed in my face, and with that magical grin said, ‘See you on the set!’”
On Wednesday, PETA revealed that Panettiere shot a new animal rights campaign for them weeks before her death. The campaign features the late star posing in a bathtub in protest of the plight of marine animals living in extreme captivity in theme parks across the world.

Meghan McCain Slams Prince Harry Ahead of U.K. Move
Meghan McCain made it clear she will not miss Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they relocate from California to the U.K.
“One thing about Americans is we can see through bulls*** and we don’t like entitled grifters,” McCain, 41, tweeted on Wednesday, August 19. “They could never hack it here and truly no one gives a s*** about d list royals.”
On Wednesday, People reported that Harry and Meghan are planning to move back to the U.S. six years after stepping down as working royals. The royal couple have reportedly already made plans for their son Prince Archie, 7, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, 5, to attend school there in September. (Harry and Meghan are expected to keep their U.S. home in Montecito, California, as well as other international properties.)
Offering the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a less-than-friendly goodbye, McCain tweeted, “Good luck to our friends in the UK, they’re your problem now.”
McCain has been a consistent critic of Harry and Meghan as they branched out into a production deal with Netflix and launched the Duchess’ As Ever lifestyle brand.
The former View panelist dismissed Meghan’s Netflix lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, as “highly curated, produced and out of touch” when a trailer debuted in January 2025.
“I would have told her to do a show helping bring fresh food [and] desserts in low income neighborhoods. Do something to help people instead of your ego,” McCain tweeted at the time.
The conservative pundit later railed against Meghan during a February 2025 episode of her Meghan McCain’s Happy Hour digital series.
“I cannot stand her,” McCain declared. “I love people that I can relate to, like every other 40-year-old mom. I don’t want to eat her jam. I love Princess Kate [Middleton].”

McCain is not the only one questioning the Sussexes’ move back to the U.K. Royal author Christopher Andersen exclusively told Us on Wednesday that Harry and Meghan’s U.K. return is likely to cause chaos within the royal family.
“All I can think of is: here we go again,” Brothers and Wives writer Andersen told Us. “For starters, I can only imagine that William and Kate are tearing their hair out. They have so much on their plate as it is trying to shore up the monarchy and propel it into the future; they don’t really need to cope with having Harry and Megan on their proverbial doorstep.”
Anderson, 77, continued, “By returning to the U.K., the Sussexes will inevitably suck up all the oxygen in the room. They will generate countless tabloid stories and take the focus away from other members of the Royal family, which is a major no-no. King Charles and Queen Camilla, in particular, don’t like to be upstaged, and the same goes for William.”
The royal expert speculated that the couple’s decision to move back to the U.K. could also raise “obvious privacy” and “security concerns.”
“The King and Prince William were apparently gobsmacked by the announcement. Oh well, here comes the drama,” Andersen teased. “The Palace is scrambling to make sense of this. After all, it was not that long ago that Meghan and the children cut short their stay in the U.K. after a meeting with the King and Queen that was described as perfunctory.”
Harry and Meghan announced in January 2020 that they were stepping down from their duties as active royals. They initially moved to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, for an extended stay that same month, before relocating to Montecito in July 2020.
Us has reached out to Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson for a comment on McCain’s tweet.
