Taylor Swift’s onetime music video director, Joseph Kahn, is setting the record straight after viral images claimed to offer the first glimpse inside the pop star’s star-studded wedding to her now-husband, Travis Kelce.

Kahn, who directed eight of Swift’s music videos, was among the near-1,000 attendees on hand at MSG to toast the couple’s marriage.

“Had a wonderful time at Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce’s wedding last night,” he wrote via Instagram on Saturday, recapping the evening. “I got to meet Steven Spielberg and the lovely Kate Capshaw and talk filmmaking with the GOAT (lifelong dream achieved). What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate. And yes, literally everyone was there.”

According to officials, at least eight people—including four children—were injured after gunfire erupted around 10:35 p.m. Saturday in Brooklyn’s Coney Island neighborhood, just blocks away from where Fourth of July fireworks had wrapped up less than an hour earlier. Following the wedding festivities, the Mahomes family wasted little time heading back to Missouri. Brittany later shared photos and videos on social media showing Patrick celebrating Independence Day at home with their children.

The quarterback could be seen treating the family to a backyard fireworks display less than 24 hours after attending one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings in recent memory.

Patrick and Brittany have become close friends with Kelce and Swift since the singer and NFL star began dating in 2023. The friendship has frequently been on display at Chiefs games, public outings, and various events over the past two years.

The Mahomeses weren’t the only members of the Chiefs organization in attendance at the wedding. Team owner Clark Hunt and members of his family, head coach Andy Reid, and numerous Chiefs players were also reportedly present for the celebration.

One notable absence, however, was kicker Harrison Butker. According to reports, Butker, who drew significant criticism in 2024 following a commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas, where comments about women, abortion, and the LGBTQ+ community sparked widespread backlash, was not invited to the wedding despite having played alongside Kelce since 2017.

According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, guests were invited into the reception space by Taylor’s mother following the ceremony, where a stage had been set up for special performances from music legends Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks.

The celebration reportedly featured an impressive selection of food and drinks as attendees mingled throughout the transformed Madison Square Garden venue. The insider revealed that guests had access to multiple food stations serving Italian cuisine and sushi, while servers circulated with trays of additional bites throughout the evening. “There were bars everywhere,” the source also shared.

Between the star-studded guest list, surprise musical performances, and seemingly endless food and drinks, Swift and Kelce’s reception appeared to be just as extravagant as the fairytale ceremony itself.
