Taylor Swift Wedding Guest Addresses Viral AI Venue Photos

Published

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Taylor Swift’s onetime music video director, Joseph Kahn, is setting the record straight after viral images claimed to offer the first glimpse inside the pop star’s star-studded wedding to her now-husband, Travis Kelce.

“Every picture I’ve seen of the wedding is fake,” Kahn, 53, wrote via X on Saturday, July 4. “Trust me, AI would break if you tried to prompt it.”

Swift and Kelce, both 36, said “I do” inside New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden arena on Friday, July 3, though any images of the venue decor have been under lock-and-key.

Despite the apparent phone-free mandate, a handful of blurry, AI-generated images circulated on social media on Friday, in which Swift and Kelce appeared to mingle with guests during their big day.

Kahn, who directed eight of Swift’s music videos, was among the near-1,000 attendees on hand at MSG to toast the couple’s marriage.

“Had a wonderful time at Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce’s wedding last night,” he wrote via Instagram on Saturday, recapping the evening. “I got to meet Steven Spielberg and the lovely Kate Capshaw and talk filmmaking with the GOAT (lifelong dream achieved). What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate. And yes, literally everyone was there.”

He continued at the time, “It was like living in the internet, and AI would crack if it tried to render it. Anyway congratulations Taylor and Travis! Wishing your beautiful family and future family endless happiness!”

Swift and Kelce, for their part, have seldom detailed any aspects of their garden party nuptials. Their union was instead announced with a “JUST&T Married” billboard outside of MSG and a press release shared by the Grammy winner’s publicist.

“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom,” the statement read. “This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. [Both of] their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.”

The press release continued, “Her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s ‘Man of Honor’ and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”

Taylor and Travis have been together since 2023, getting engaged two years later in August 2025.

‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Star’s War Movie Masterpiece Is Taking Over Free Streaming This Month

Published

on

01398266_poster_w780.jpg

Not every war movie has to involve storming the beaches in Normandy, looking for people called Ryan, or going where eagles dare. Some of them focus on the cost of war, and the pain that you carry with you after the job is done, and why the excitement of being in a war zone might give you a buzz, but it isn’t sustainable for the success of your team or the mission at large.

Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker is now streaming free on Fawesome. The holiday weekend is the perfect time to watch something with a few more explosions than you might be used to, and the film remains one of the most nerve-shattering modern war dramas ever made. It follows Staff Sergeant William James (Jeremy Renner), after he joins a U.S. Army bomb disposal unit during the Iraq War. James is brilliant at the job, but his reckless, thrill-seeking approach quickly puts him at odds with the rest of his team.

Alongside Renner, the cast includes Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as Sergeant J.T. Sanborn, Brian Geraghty (Big Sky) as Specialist Owen Eldridge, Guy Pearce (Memento) as Sergeant Matt Thompson, Ralph Fiennes (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple) as the Contractor Team Leader, David Morse (The Green Mile) as Colonel Reed, Evangeline Lilly (Lost) as Connie James, and Christian Camargo (Dexter) as Lieutenant Colonel John Cambridge.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

How Successful Was ‘The Hurt Locker’?

It’s fair to say that The Hurt Locker was a win. It was a legit critical sensation and an awards darling, but it was actually only a minor box office hit. That’s not to say it didn’t do quite well, though, as it grossed about $49.9 million worldwide against a reported $15 million budget. So yes, it did make money, but not blockbuster numbers. Domestically, it made only about $17 million, which is tiny compared to most Best Picture winners.

Where the movie really succeeded, almost against all odds, was during the awards run. The Hurt Locker earned nine Oscar nominations and won six, including Best Picture, Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow, and Best Original Screenplay for Mark Boal. Bigelow also became the first woman to win the Oscar for Best Director, which was the biggest accolade the movie would get in the history books.

The Hurt Locker is streaming now on Fawesome.

Jon Pardi, Summer Pardi’s Relationship Timeline Before Split

Published

on

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Country singer Jon Pardi and his wife, Summer Pardi, separated after six years together.

The couple, who share two daughters, announced their separation in a joint Instagram statement in July 2026 to the surprise of their many fans. Court records viewed by Us Weekly later revealed that Summer had filed for divorce two months earlier, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Scroll down to revisit Jon and Summer’s relationship timeline before their divorce:

2017

Jon and Summer were set up by the singer’s mom and Summer’s hairstyling client. Less than one week later, Jon flew Summer to his Colorado concert for their first date.

“He was like, ‘I looked at your picture for three days, then I decided to call you,’” Summer recalled of their first conversation on the “Get Real” podcast in 2019. “[It] was so easy. I think my favorite part is how sentimental he is.”

2020

Jon and Summer tied the knot in November 2020 in Tennessee after three years of dating.

“We had a friend who was married at Saddle Woods last year, and when we walked into their wedding, Jon was like, ‘This is the most amazing wedding and venue ever,’ ” she told People at the time. “So when we had to cancel our destination wedding, they were naturally the first venue we called when we knew we had to keep things closer to home. There’s never a right time in 2020 to get married, so after all the planning and replanning we were just happy we got to do it.”

2023

The then-couple’s family grew when Summer gave birth to their first daughter, Presley, on February 18.

“Our lives are forever changed,” the new mom gushed via Instagram. “She has one cheek dimple like her mama and her daddy’s perfect skin.”

2024

Presley was joined by younger sister Sienna, who arrived on July 16.

2025

In an April interview with Us Weekly, Jon reflected on how family life had reshaped his songwriting.

“It’s a new emotion and new song ideas that we can sing about now,” he told Us. “[I’m] a father now and you’ll feel it more instead of just singing about it.”

Jon specifically pointed to songs on Honkytonk Hollywood that drew from his marriage.

“Even the love songs like ‘Boots Off’ is a lovemaking song, but it’s fun,” Jon shared. “‘Love the Lights Out’ is sexy and making up for lost time, and that’s all part of marriage. It’s all a part of raising kids.here’s that more mature stuff where before it was just party, party, party and picking up chicks. It’s got a little more of a classy tone to that one.”

Behind the scenes, the couple’s relationship had begun to unravel. A source exclusively told Us Weekly in July 2026 that Jon and Summer faced “major issues” later in 2025.

“They’ve been having major issues since last year,” the insider claimed to Us. “They all but separated right before the holidays and even unfollowed each other on Instagram.”

The pair later refollowed one another on social media, but according to the source, the damage was significant. While Summer was “fed up” with Jon, the insider said she was holding the marriage together for their daughters.

May 2026

On May 12, Summer quietly filed to dissolve the couple’s five-year marriage in Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to court documents obtained by Us.

In the paperwork, Summer requested to be named “primary residential parent” of Presley and Sienna if the estranged couple couldn’t agree on a parenting plan.

“[Summer] would show that she is a fit and proper person to be designated as the primary residential parent of the parties’ minor children,” her filing reads.

Summer also requested an equitable division of assets, “all of her separate property,” and alimony from Jon, arguing that he “has the ability to pay.”

July 2026

The Pardis publicly confirmed the end of their marriage on July 3 in a joint Instagram statement.

“After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” they wrote at the time. “Our daughters will always remain our highest priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as coparents.”

Shortly after the announcement, Jon shared that he would be stepping back from social media.

“While I navigate this next chapter, I’m going to take some time away from social media to focus on myself and my family,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Thanks to you all for the love and support. My team will handle posting for the time being. I’ll see you at the shows.”

Everything Cheryl Burke Has Said About Her Appearance Weight Loss and Body Dysmorphia 2202483270

Dancing With the Stars alum Cheryl Burke has had enough of the constant online body-shaming.

“I was jacked, like my legs were — I was like a bodybuilder down there,” Burke, 42, said during a sit-down interview for the Wednesday, July 1, episode of the Dory Jackson Interview Series, adding that she simply wishes people would “stop comparing me to when I was 20.”

“When you’re not pounding on your body, it’s changing,” she continued. “Maybe not for the best, but it’s just, that’s life.”

Burke — who fans have accused of using GLP-1s in the wake of her years- long weight loss journey — later admitted in the same interview that the constant speculation about her body, size and weight has taken a mental and emotional toll.

“It hasn’t been too bad lately, but also there’s going to come a point where it just gets old,” she added. “People are going to say the same thing every time.”

In May 2025, Burke confirmed that she suffers from body dysmorphia, which at many points in her life contributed to unhealthy or disordered eating habits.

“I do suffer from body dysmorphia, and especially as a dancer in front of mirrors constantly — since I was a little girl,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “Even before my Dancing With the Stars career, my weight has always been an issue. I think what people sometimes don’t understand is it is a lot of work [and] it takes a lot of work and it takes a lot of self-care.”

In August of the same year, Burke opened up exclusively to Us Weekly about her weight loss journey, breaking down how she went from 145 to 109 pounds.

“I don’t weigh myself daily anymore because it was a problem. At my heaviest I was about 150,” she revealed at the time. “The last time I checked, I was 109. I feel f***ing great; my energy is on another level. That 109 doesn’t matter, what matters is how I feel.”

She continued at the time, “I eat licorice. I have my morning fruit shake, which is more calories than any of my meals that I’m eating. I have to have my matcha from Peet’s Coffee every morning, and if the have the warm pretzel bread, I’ll get it because it’s just the best thing in the world. I’m very lenient.”

Cheryl Burke has had enough. Throughout her career, including 17 years competing as a pro on Dancing With the Stars (which she left in 2022), she’s endured relentless body shaming. She also suffers from body dysmorphic disorder, an intense fixation on her looks and perceived flaws. For decades, she took other people’s critiques to heart. […]

Burke then described the healthy-eating plan called Z.E.N, which delivers food to her home and has assisted her in both establishing healthy eating habits.

“The food is delicious and it’s portion control,” she said of the program at the time, revealing that every day she consumed anywhere from 1,200 to 1,400 calories. “I have oatmeal with fruit every morning. I have a snack, pita, chips and hummus. Lunch is normally a salad and then I will have my dinner. It’s not diet food, it’s real food.”

Cheryl Burke is speaking out against the online criticism surrounding her appearance, saying she’s tired of people comparing her current body to the one she had during her early years on “Dancing with the Stars.” The longtime professional dancer recently reflected on the unrealistic expectations placed on women as they age, explaining that her body naturally looks different now than it did when she was competing week after week on the ballroom floor.

During a recent episode of the “Dory Jackson Interview Series,” Burke addressed the ongoing comments she receives about her appearance. “I was jacked, like my legs were, I was like a bodybuilder down there,” Burke said while recalling her younger years as a professional dancer.

She went on to explain that she wishes people would simply “stop comparing me to when I was 20.” “When you’re not pounding on your body, it’s changing,” she added. “Maybe not for the best, but it’s just, that’s life.”

Burke’s comments come after years of public scrutiny surrounding her weight and appearance, with some social media users even speculating that she used GLP-1 medications during her weight-loss journey.

While some fans focused on the number itself, Burke emphasized that her health and overall well-being remain her primary concerns.

Burke also pushed back against the idea that her weight loss came from extreme dieting, sharing that she still enjoys many of her favorite foods.

“I eat licorice. I have my morning fruit shake, which is more calories than any of my meals that I’m eating. I have to have my matcha from Peet’s Coffee every morning, and if the have the warm pretzel bread, I’ll get it because it’s just the best thing in the world. I’m very lenient.”

She credited part of her success to a meal program called Z.E.N., which helped her develop healthier eating habits through portion control and consistency.

Eight Injured In Coney Island Shooting

According to officials, at least eight people—including four children—were injured after gunfire erupted around 10:35 p.m. Saturday in Brooklyn’s Coney Island neighborhood, just blocks away from where Fourth of July fireworks had wrapped up less than an hour earlier. The victims range in age from 6 to 37 years old and were all transported to nearby hospitals. Police said seven victims are in stable condition, while a 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition.

Authorities Reveal What Led To Brooklyn Shooting

During a Sunday briefing, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the victims gathered in a courtyard for a family barbecue when an unidentified person, described as wearing all black and a black ski mask, approached a fence and opened fire into the gathering before fleeing on foot. Investigators recovered a pistol with an extended magazine and multiple shell casings at the scene, but they have not made any arrests. Authorities are also investigating whether the shooting connects to a recent gang-related homicide that occurred on the same block.

Authorities Address Wave Of Brooklyn Incidents

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the violence, saying there is “no place in our city for this kind of violence” and pledged that officials would use every available resource to pursue those responsible. The shooting came during a weekend in which another NYPD officer was also shot in a separate incident elsewhere in Brooklyn. The violence also follows the NYPD’s recent announcement that the city recorded its lowest number of shootings, shooting victims, and murders for the first half of the year since officials began tracking the data.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wrote Own Vows for MSG Wedding

Adam Sandler Officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wedding at Madison Square Garden

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated, star-studded wedding ceremony somehow managed to feel like an extremely personal affair.

“It really was intimate,” broadcaster Robin Roberts revealed after attending the couple’s Friday, July 3, ceremony during an episode of Good Morning America the next day.

Roberts’ co-anchor George Stephanopoulos concurred, noting that NYC’s famed Madison Square Garden was transformed into “a garden inside the Garden.”

“It was just so beautiful,” Stephanopoulos, 65, said on Friday. “It’s hard to imagine that a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal and so intimate.”

Part of what made the nuptials so special, according to the co-anchors, were the newlyweds’ deeply emotional vows.

“Oh, their vows,” Roberts, 65, gushed on the broadcast. “They wrote their own vows.”

Stephanopoulos chimed in, noting that the duo read their heartfelt messages aloud from “little books.” He previously told ABC News in a statement after the ceremony that Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot in a “moving” ceremony.

“Vows: everything you would hope for, real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving,” reporter Sophie Flay read Stephanopoulos’ statement aloud on a Friday broadcast. “Who knew that a wedding in Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?”

Will Jesse Eisenberg Leave the U.S. Because of Donald Trump?

Published

on

Jesse Eisenberg is making it clear that he is not allowing politics to dictate his place of residence.

“I am a very lucky American,” the actor and director, 42, told the crowd at this year’s 60th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, held in the Czech Republic, where he received the President’s Award, after he was asked if he had a “responsibility” to stay in New York City amid President Donald Trump’s second term.

“I have a nice life,” he continued. “My wife is a teacher, and she teaches a lot of students who are not as lucky as we are. I think we feel, if anything, a responsibility to stay in New York and help those who are struggling through a tougher period in American history.”

He added, “No, I’m not going to leave because I don’t like the politics of America. That seems a little silly, because my life is very good.“

Eisenberg made headlines in 2024, when he applied for dual U.S.-Polish citizenship among a contentious presidential election between then-president Joe Biden and Trump, who ultimately won both the popular and electoral vote.

“I applied for Polish citizenship about nine months ago. Apparently, all the paperwork has already been submitted and I’m waiting for the final signature,” Eisenberg told local media outlet Glos Wielkpolski at the time. “My family is from the south-east of Polan, from Krasnystaw. My wife’s family is from Lódź. We wanted to have a better bond with Poland, and I would like to work here more.”

According to the director, who is married to Anna Strout, his experience directing and starring in his award-winning 2024 film A Real Pain contributed to his desire to apply for dual-citizenship, explaining he essentially wanted to “repeat” the transformative process when working on future projects.

“I feel a bond with Poland,” he added at the time. “Growing up, I heard stories about Polish relationships with my Jewish family, and all of those stories were wonderful. We were best friends with Poles.”

While Eisenberg has no plans to leave the U.S. due to the country’s contentious political climate, plenty of celebrities have decided to relocate across the pond in the wake of Trump’s second presidential term.

Patrick Mahomes is giving fans a closer look at his whirlwind trip to New York City for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s star-studded wedding. Just days after attending the lavish Madison Square Garden ceremony alongside his wife, Brittany Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared a collection of photos from their time in the Big Apple, offering a glimpse into the glamorous wedding weekend. The photo dump featured several stylish snapshots of the couple before they quickly returned home to Kansas City to celebrate the Fourth of July with their children.

Among the images shared by the three-time Super Bowl champion were several photos of himself and Brittany dressed up for a night out in New York City.

The first few photos appeared to have been taken before Swift and Kelce’s wedding, with Brittany wearing a light blue dress paired with a sparkling silver necklace while Patrick sported a tuxedo and sunglasses. One image showed the couple embracing, while another captured them sitting together in the back of a taxi, seemingly on their way to an event in Manhattan.

Mahomes also included photos of Brittany spending time with friends, along with a candid shot of himself photographing the group during their evening out. Additional images featured the quarterback in a sharp double-breasted suit, while Brittany wore an olive-colored dress paired with gold heels.

The Mahomeses Were Among Hundreds Of Guests At The Wedding

Patrick and Brittany were among an estimated 1,000 guests who attended Swift and Kelce’s extravagant wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden. The ceremony brought together celebrities, athletes, musicians, and close friends of the couple for one of the most talked-about weddings of the year.

Swift wore a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding gown designed by Jonathan Anderson, while Kelce opted for a bespoke Dior tuxedo.

The venue itself was transformed into an elaborate garden-inspired setting featuring towering trees, lush greenery, dramatic drapery, and custom décor created specifically for the occasion.

As one of Kelce’s closest friends and longtime teammates, Mahomes was expected to be among the guests celebrating the couple’s big day.

Following the wedding festivities, the Mahomes family wasted little time heading back to Missouri. Brittany later shared photos and videos on social media showing Patrick celebrating Independence Day at home with their children.

The quarterback could be seen treating the family to a backyard fireworks display less than 24 hours after attending one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings in recent memory.

Patrick Mahomes And Brittany Have Grown Close To Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift

Patrick and Brittany have become close friends with Kelce and Swift since the singer and NFL star began dating in 2023. The friendship has frequently been on display at Chiefs games, public outings, and various events over the past two years.

The Mahomeses weren’t the only members of the Chiefs organization in attendance at the wedding. Team owner Clark Hunt and members of his family, head coach Andy Reid, and numerous Chiefs players were also reportedly present for the celebration.

One notable absence, however, was kicker Harrison Butker. According to reports, Butker, who drew significant criticism in 2024 following a commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas, where comments about women, abortion, and the LGBTQ+ community sparked widespread backlash, was not invited to the wedding despite having played alongside Kelce since 2017.

While Patrick Mahomes’ latest photos offered a glimpse into the wedding weekend, fans have continued to search for details about what happened at Swift and Kelce’s lavish reception.

According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, guests were invited into the reception space by Taylor’s mother following the ceremony, where a stage had been set up for special performances from music legends Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks.

The celebration reportedly featured an impressive selection of food and drinks as attendees mingled throughout the transformed Madison Square Garden venue. The insider revealed that guests had access to multiple food stations serving Italian cuisine and sushi, while servers circulated with trays of additional bites throughout the evening. “There were bars everywhere,” the source also shared.

Between the star-studded guest list, surprise musical performances, and seemingly endless food and drinks, Swift and Kelce’s reception appeared to be just as extravagant as the fairytale ceremony itself.

10 Years Later, Denzel Washington’s Oscar-Winning Masterpiece Finds a New Streaming Home

Published

on

25 years ago, the standard for 21st-century acting performances was set by Hollywood icon Denzel Washington. Following his Best Supporting Actor win over a decade prior for 1989’s Glory, Washington delivered perhaps his career-defining turn as corrupt LAPD Detective Alonzo Harris in Training Day. This would mark his second Oscar win to date, among ten total nominations, making him one of the most decorated actors in Academy history.

Of his many Oscar nominations, it’s difficult to pick a standout. However, the New York-born actor has only earned two nominations for a single movie once, earning an acting nomination and Best Picture nomination as star, director, and co-producer of 2016’s Fences. A passion project for Washington, many years in the making, the film was based on August Wilson‘s 1985 play of the same name. In a 1987 Broadway run, the play boasted the voice of Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones, as the patriarch of the Maxson family, Troy.

Fences was nominated for a total of four Academy Awards, including the aforementioned pair for Washington and a Best Adapted Screenplay nod for Wilson. However, its shining moment on Oscars night came in a win for Washington’s co-star Viola Davis, who took home the Best Supporting Actress prize in one of the best wins in the category of the past decade. Fences was also a quiet hit at the box office, turning in a respectable global haul of $64.2 million against a reported production budget of $24 million. If you’d love to sample the best film Washington has directed, then you’re in luck, as it just debuted on a new streamer. Right now, you can watch Fences on Paramount+, where it joins a stacked lineup of other award-winning projects.

The Academy Has Decided
Your Perfect Film Is…

Your answers have pointed to one Oscar Best Picture winner above all others. This is the film that was made for the way your mind works.

Parasite

You are drawn to films that operate on multiple levels simultaneously — that begin in one genre and quietly, brilliantly migrate into another. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is a film about class, desire, and the architecture of inequality that manages to be darkly funny, deeply suspenseful, and genuinely shocking across a single extraordinary running time. Your instinct is for cinema that hides its true intentions until the moment it’s ready to reveal them. Parasite is exactly that — a film that rewards close attention and punishes assumptions, right up to its devastating final image.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You want it all — and this film gives you all of it. The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the most maximalist films ever made: action comedy, multiverse sci-fi, family drama, existential crisis, and a genuinely earned emotional core that sneaks up on you amid the chaos. You are someone who responds to ambition, who doesn’t want cinema to choose between being entertaining and being meaningful. This film refuses that choice entirely. It is overwhelming by design, and its overwhelming nature is precisely the point — because the feeling of being crushed by infinite possibility is exactly what it’s about.

Oppenheimer

You are drawn to cinema on a grand scale — films that understand history not as a backdrop but as a force, and that place their characters inside that force and watch what happens. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a film about the terrifying gap between what we can do and what we should do, told with the full weight of one of the most consequential moments in human history behind it. You want your films to feel important without feeling self-important — to earn their ambition through sheer craft and the gravity of their subject. Oppenheimer does exactly that. It is enormous, complicated, and refuses easy comfort.

Birdman

You are drawn to films that foreground their own construction — that make the how of the filmmaking part of the what it’s about. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, shot to appear as a single continuous take, is cinema examining itself through the cracked mirror of a fading actor’s ego. You respond to formal daring, to the feeling that a film is doing something that probably shouldn’t be possible. Michael Keaton’s performance and Emmanuel Lubezki’s restless camera create something genuinely unlike anything else — a film that is simultaneously about creativity, relevance, self-destruction, and the impossibility of ever truly knowing if your work means anything at all.

No Country for Old Men

You are drawn to cinema that trusts silence, that refuses to explain itself, and that treats dread as a form of meaning. The Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men is a film about the arrival of a new kind of evil — implacable, arbitrary, and utterly indifferent to the moral frameworks we use to make sense of the world. It is one of the most formally controlled films ever made, and its controlled restraint is what makes it so terrifying. You want your films to haunt you, not comfort you. You are not interested in resolution if resolution would be dishonest. No Country for Old Men is honest in a way that most cinema never dares to be.

As one of Hollywood’s greatest actors, Washington is never short of demand. Following his scene-stealing role in the eventually underwhelming Gladiator II and starring turn in the hugely underrated Spike Lee joint Highest 2 Lowest, Washington’s next project will see him feature opposite two of Hollywood’s brightest stars in Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson and Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones. A heist thriller described as “unconventional,” the trio will headline the upcoming Netflix project, Here Comes the Flood, scheduled to debut sometime this year.

Fences is streaming now on Paramount+. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for the latest streaming updates.
