The hugely popular O’Brien’s Wine Festival makes a welcome return to the RDS this October. The event takes place on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October 2026. The Wine Festival sold out last year, and this year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever, so make sure you snap up a ticket as soon as you can.

Meet the people behind some of the most exciting wines from around the world. Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Germany are just some of the countries represented at the festival. With 290 wines to try from more than 70 talented producers, this promises to be a weekend of wine, discovery and fun.

Maja and Maggie from Polish Wine Fest are changing the Irish wine scene and are pioneers in bringing Polish wine to Ireland. With their bottles now gracing wine shops, bars and restaurants across the country, as well as their annual wine and food festivals, this is a great opportunity to try wines spearheading the cool-climate wine category.

Sebastian Skillings, a Dublin-based fishmonger, cook and author, known on Instagram as @the.hungry.fishmonger, will be joined by Spanish chef Elena to create an authentic Spanish paella made using Spanish delicacies and products.

John Galliano has called off a planned exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art that was set to honor his decades-long career, the designer announced in a statement.

Galliano said he was “profoundly grateful” to the Met, and specifically to Max Hollein, Andrew Bolton, and Anna Wintour, for the opportunity to have his creative journey considered by an institution he has “admired throughout my life.” He described the process as moving him “more deeply than I can express.”

“After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time,” Galliano wrote.

The designer addressed the controversy that has followed him since his 2011 antisemitic outburst in Paris, which led to his dismissal from Christian Dior. “I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry,” he said, adding that “meaningful atonement is not achieved through an exhibition, institutional recognition or a single public gesture. It is a continuing responsibility, demonstrated through listening, learning and one’s conduct over time.”

Galliano said he did not want the debate surrounding him “to place the Met in a difficult position or to distract from the remarkable work of the Costume Institute,” and acknowledged that an exhibition honoring his work “would be painful for some.”

He also used the statement to reflect on his personal recovery, thanking those who have supported him through “fifteen years of sobriety and recovery from alcoholism and addiction.”

“My gratitude to the Met, Max, Andrew and Anna remains profound and enduring,” Galliano concluded. “Their generosity, humanity and belief in the importance of fashion as art, culture and history — as well as their understanding of human fragility and the possibility of growth — will remain with me always.”

Founded by Jane and Sarah McDonnell, co-founders of THE GLOSS Magazine and THE GLOSS Interiors, Design Week Dublin 2026 is a unifying gathering where architects, interior designers and fashion designers bring creativity to life across the city, while a design-curious audience can explore an engaging programme of events.

The programme will explore the work of exceptional Irish architects, interior designers, fashion designers and creators on both the national and international stage, alongside the inspiring work of international guest speakers. The week will feature talks by leading design champions, spaces to explore, design and fashion conversations and panel discussions, as well as plenty of opportunities to network with the wider design community over coffee or cocktails.

Participants include award-winning architects Sheila O’Donnell and John Tuomey of O’Donnell + Tuomey, 2026 RIBA Gold Medal recipient Níall McLaughlin, and Irish architects working globally for firms including David Chipperfield and RSHP in London, Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Genoa and Paris, and designer Jasper Conran.

The programme also features leading Irish interior designers including Róisín Lafferty, Brian Woulfe, Susan McGowan, Sara Cosgrove and Geri O’Toole, garden designer Diarmuid Gavin, and fashion designers including Maria Grachvogel.

Design Week Dublin 2026 will take place at the anchor locations of Anantara The Marker Dublin and The Malt House, both in Dublin’s Grand Canal area, as well as in exciting satellite spaces, showrooms and studios throughout the capital.

Architect and broadcaster Amanda Bone will moderate many of the events, bringing together some of Ireland’s most influential creative voices for a week celebrating architecture, interiors, fashion and design.

Gen Z’s craving for community, and a shift to valuing human connection over screen time, has seen a surge in “in real life” get-togethers (IRL). This growing Gen Z IRL movement is putting real-world community and shared experiences back at the centre of social life in 2026.

Vox magazine has cited 2026 as Gen Z’s ‘breakout summer,’ and that a generation haunted by the pandemic with challenged mental health and a preference for online engagement, is having a memorable summer. I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of burgundy pants to wear this fall, and think I may have struck gold with these crepe pants from Vince. I love a crepe fabric for a comfy but still pulled-together office look, and as someone who gave up wearing heels to the office years ago, the 31” inseam is perfect for me to wear with flats.

August began in Gstaad, where one week became nearly two once we decided to stay instead of continuing to Vienna. I had packed with a sportier mood in mind, but the best looks came from what happened after staying longer, when color, layers, and practical pieces started feeling more lived-in. A knit over stripes, a scarf tucked close, sneakers carrying everything from hikes into town to long lunches.
