The 40-year-old was executed in cold blood after opening a door to gunman Marcus Huntley
Footage has been released of the killers of Joanne Penney before and after she was murdered in cold blood after being shot in the heart after opening a door. Her murderers were dropped off yards from the house, before knocking on the door and shooting at her.
The 40-year-old died after a bullet from a gun fired by Marcus Huntley penetrated her heart and left lung and lodged itself in the rear of her chest. She was pronounced dead at a property in Llys Illtyd, Talbot Green, at around 6.10pm on March 9 last year.
She was the victim of a “clash of rival organised crime groups” which led to a group travelling from Leicestershire to south Wales in order to carry out a revenge attack, after one of their crew was assaulted. Don’t miss a court report by signing up to our crime newsletter here.
Huntley, 21, pleaded guilty to murdering Ms Penney and being the person who pulled the trigger, on the second day of a trial at Cardiff Crown Court.
Following the conclusion of the trial, which began in October, a jury returned verdicts in respect of the remaining defendants on Friday.
Jordan Mills-Smith, 33, Joshua Gordon, 27, Kristina Ginova, 22, and Melissa Quailey-Dashper, 40, were found guilty of Joanne Penney’s murder.
Tony Porter, 69, was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter.
Gordon, Ginova, Quailey-Dashper and Porter were found guilty or participating in the activity of an organised crime group, with Mills-Smith and Huntley having already pleaded guilty to the charge.
CCTV footage has been released by South Wales Police which shows the movements of Ms Penney’s killers moments before she was shot, and moments afterwards as they made off on foot to their getaway car.
Huntley, Mills-Smith and Quailey-Dashper can be seen exiting a Nissan Note driven by Porter and containing Gordon which had stopped in a McDonald’s car park in Talbot Green.
The trio walked to 10 Llys Illtyd, with Huntley armed with the handgun that he would use to shoot and kill Ms Penney.
Upon arriving at the property, Quailey-Dashper was tasked with knocking the front door in order to avoid suspicion.
But when Ms Penney answered the door, she was shot with the handgun by Huntley.
All three defendants calmly walked away from 10 Llys Illtyd, with Huntley and Mills-Smith putting hoods over their heads.
The two men are seen to get back into the Nissan Note, which had parked next to a Halfords store.
Quailey-Dashper can be seen nonchalantly dawdling behind before getting into the front of the car, which drives off.
Minutes later Ms Penney was dead with her murderers on the road.
