“Our Lakeside Café and veranda overlook the main lake and next door to the enclosed play area for toddlers.

“Find plenty of picnic benches and seating dotted around our grounds.”

If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, you could book a session at the aqua park that features obstacles to tackle while avoiding falling into the water.

For those just wanting to cool off in the heat, you could go for a swim in the lake.

If you need something to keep you going through the day, you can pop into the Lakeside Café for a breakfast or sandwich.

The café also offers a range of sweet treats such as cakes and traybakes to enjoy alongside a hot drink.

Thousands of supporters hit the sand led by pipers today, with local police even getting involved in the carnival atmosphere.

This is the scene in Miami as thousands of Scotland fans turned the iconic South Beach into a sea of tartan and satires during a colourful march this afternoon.

Pipers led the huge crowd as fans chanted ‘No Scotland, No Party’ and ‘We’ve got McGinn’. To pass the time as Tartan Army waited for the march to begin at 2pm local time, fans launched a volleyball up into the air.

Local police, who closed off the road for the event, even got involved in what was a carnival atmosphere ahead of our match against Brazil tomorrow.

Stunned locals and fans of other countries watched and filmed the scenes – with some, including Brazilians and Colombians even joining the march.

The whole thing lasted around half an hour and ended on the sand at the famous beach. Revellers who had been enjoying the sun raced towards the crowd to capture quick snaps and videos of the kilted Scots.

And as it ended, the group surrounded the pipers as our fans belted out an emotional rendition of Flower of Scotland.

Twenty-year-old piper Callum Bain, who was on the march, jumped into the sea shortly after to belt out a few tunes from the water. Callum, a music student at university and member of the Troon Caledonia pipe band said: “We’ve only been here two hours but we got straight into the march.

“The march was really good fun. It was hot, but brilliant. We played all the traditional chants, Scotland the Brave, the national anthem, and all the traditional football chants.

“We are now just looking forward to the match tomorrow. We are going to the game, I’m hoping for a 1-1 draw. We need to get a point at least!”

His dad Stefan, 50, from Kilmarnock, added: “It’s nice to see a bit of cloud cover now! I’m just so happy to be here, and it was brilliant to see Callum playing the pipes on the march. I’d take a draw tomorrow, but let’s go and try and win it, we’ve got the guys to do it so we need to go for it.”

The police officer added: “To see my son piping on Miami beach and to share the world cup experience with him is what dreams are made of.”

Today’s march came a day after a similar procession to the baseball last night. Like in Boston last week against the Red Sox, the Texas Rangers were the visiting side, this time taking on the Miami Marlins.

Pipers – and team mascot Billy the Marlin – led the march of supporters in full voice as they wandered to to LoanDepot Park, recreating scenes from Fenway Park. Despite the sweltering conditions, our loyal foot soldiers still pulled on their heavy kilts, much to excitement of passers-by.

Before taking in the match, which Texas Rangers won 4-3, fans guzzled beers and danced outside the ground, singing all the usual chants. Festivities for the game included a pre-game march inside the arena, a performance by Nick Morgan – who released “No Scotland, No Party” ahead of the Euros – and a first pitch from injured Scotland hero Billy Gilmour.

Locals are advised to allow extra time for travel

A large sinkhole has been causing disruption to Cambridge traffic after appearing on Monday evening (June 22). Part of Milton Road has been closed to traffic as a result of the sinkhole.

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: “Please be advised that Milton Road, Cambridge remains closed between Hurst Park Avenue and the Elizabeth Way roundabout in both directions today due to a large sinkhole.

“Highways staff have been on site today to investigate the cause of the sinkhole. The sink hole extends some way under the surrounding asphalt and due to the number of utilities under the road in this area we cannot simply fill in the hole. We are working with partner agencies to get the road repaired appropriately as quickly as possible.”

The spokesperson continued: “We’re sorry for the disruption caused by the road closure and urge people to plan their journeys and allow extra time to travel. We will reopen the road as soon as it is safe to do so.”

Bruno Fernandes set up Cristiano Ronaldo to score for Portugal against Uzbekistan at the World Cup, with Roy Keane full of praise for the Manchester United captain

Roy Keane put his spat with Bruno Fernandes to bed and hailed the Manchester United star as the world’s finest at delivering perfect passes in transition.

Keane made the striking assertion about the United captain after he teed up Cristiano Ronaldo to score for Portugal against Uzbekistan. Roberto Martinez’s side were already ahead 2-0 courtesy of strikes from Ronaldo and Nuno Mendes when the Al-Nassr forward netted a third.

But the goal arrived after Fernandes threaded the ball through the defensive lines to enable Ronaldo to finish clinically into the far corner of the net. And responding to the goal at half-time on ITV, Keane said of Fernandes: “He is by far the best player in the world at that!”

Keane’s admiration for the midfielder follows his revelation earlier this month that he had a ‘lovely chat’ with the United skipper after a recent misunderstanding over the Premier League assist record.

Keane suggested Fernandes had stated in an interview that he had opted to pass rather than shoot during his chase of the Premier League assist record. However, the Portuguese attacker’s actual words were the reverse.

Fernandes pointed out the inaccurate statement by Keane during an appearance on The Diary of a CEO podcast, where he also expressed a wish to discuss the 54-year-old’s misunderstood remarks with him. A conversation then occurred between the pair, with Keane, speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, subsequently confirming they had resolved the matter.

He initially joked: “He apologised, I forgave him, no problem, but no, it was a good chat.”

Before he added: “No, there was a reaction after what we said on the podcast a few weeks ago, and he reached out to me and wanted a chat… I called him, and we had a lovely chat.

“A lovely chat about a bit of everything, but it was nice because when we do podcasts or games, sometimes you think you say something afterwards, and you communicate something, and it doesn’t come across properly, so people get upset, and he said he wanted to talk to me.

“And we had a nice, mature conversation. It was lovely. A lovely chat. I like having boundaries with players. I don’t want to be speaking to players every few weeks or their agents, I don’t want to go down that road, but every now and then a player might reach out, so I think it was important I spoke to him.

“There has been lots going on and lots reported. He’s obviously a big player for United. I’m an ex-United player, and I think the idea of this communicating and having a proper conversation – I really enjoyed it. Hopefully, I think he did as well. Nice chat about a bit of everything, and I felt better afterwards.”

In total, police seized cocaine and cannabis worth nearly £5,000 in street deals from Ronnie Collins’ home, a car where he was a passenger and where he had dropped some as he fled from them, said Beth Richardson, prosecuting.  

They also found items used in drug dealing. Each time they released him on bail pending further investigation.

He tried to frustrate their efforts to gather evidence against him by denying them access to his phones and pretending he didn’t have a bank account.

But despite him refusing to tell them his PIN numbers, officers managed to get into some of his phones and found messages about his drug dealing, including evidence he had got another man to make drug deliveries for him.

They located his bank account which had received drug payments totalling £8,328 and seized £2,655 in cash from him in total during the arrests, which happened in Norton, Escrick and Scarborough.

Collins was 19 when he started selling drugs and was arrested in Norton, Escrick and Scarborough.

“You were a determined and busy drug supplier, delivering both cocaine and cannabis,” the Recorder of York, Judge Sean Morris told him.

“You were a one stop shop for misery. Standing there, you are a prime example of where drugs can get a young man or woman.

“You  were arrested on six occasions until you were stopped.  Arrested, bang at it, arrested, bang at it, arrested, bang at it.

“You lied through your teeth every time you were interviewed by police. You were thinking you were the bees’ knees.”

Collins, now 21, of Arbour Way, Norton, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis from September 2024 to April 2026, two offences of possessing cocaine with intent and two offences of possessing cannabis with intent.  He had no previous convictions for possessing or dealing in drugs.

He was jailed for five years and three months.

Defence barrister Erin Kitson-Parker said: “It is a story as old as time. He was using drugs, he then started selling drugs and things got out of hand.”

“He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life in prison,” she said.

Since his final arrest in April this year and being remanded in custody, he had got a job in prison working on bikes and hoped to get a proper career when he was released from jail.

Collins’ arrests were:

• September 4, 2024, at his home, cocaine worth up to £2,220 seized.
• January 21, 2025, second raid on his home, cash worth £1,750 seized.
• June 3, 2025, Aldi car park in Scarborough, he throws away cocaine worth up to £2,400 in street deals as he tries to escape from police.
• August 3, 2025, passenger in a car near Escrick, more drugs and cash seized.
• January 24, 2026, arrested on unrelated matters.
• April 10, 2026, third raid on a house where he was living.
