British actor Tim Curry, best known for his iconic performances as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pennywise the Clown in Stephen King’s It, has died at the age of 80, according to US reports
The British actor, renowned for his legendary portrayals of Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pennywise the Clown in It, has passed away aged 80.
The distinguished performer, whose career encompassed more than five decades across cinema, television and stage, died on Tuesday night, according to reports from America. Circumstances surrounding his passing have yet to be formally disclosed, TMZ reported.
Curry achieved cult status following his portrayal of the exuberant Dr Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, having first taken on the character during its London stage run.
