Récit fiction basé sur des faits malheureusement bien réels, à la première personne pour raconter l’horreur que viennent de vivre des utilisateurs qui pensaient avoir sécurisé leurs bitcoins au maximum avec un hardware wallet totalement hors ligne. Pourtant, certains portefeuilles ont été vidés sans vol physique de l’appareil, sans phishing et sans exposition apparente de la seed.

Dans cette vidéo, je raconte le scénario à la première personne : la découverte du solde à zéro, l’incrédulité, la colère, puis la compréhension du défaut technique. Une faiblesse dans la génération aléatoire de certaines seeds aurait rendu des clés privées plus prévisibles qu’elles ne devaient l’être.

Je reviens simplement sur :

• le rôle réel d’un hardware wallet
• la différence entre protéger une clé et générer une clé solide
• pourquoi le mode air-gapped ne suffisait pas
• comment des attaquants peuvent retrouver des seeds vulnérables
• pourquoi une simple mise à jour ne corrige pas une ancienne seed
• les précautions à prendre pour réduire ce type de risque

Cette affaire rappelle une règle essentielle : une seed hors ligne n’est sûre que si elle était réellement imprévisible dès sa création.
