Is it just me or does financial advice sometimes ignore the cultural weight of certain celebrations?

And this isn’t just a first-gen or African immigrant thing – so many cultures get this. Compound interest calculators can’t capture what certain communities understand intuitively: some weddings aren’t just about spending, they’re rites of passage, village gatherings, and family unification events.

That said, this doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be boundaries.🤨😂 There’s a real difference between intentional celebration and excessiveness, and that depends entirely on your actual financial situation.
