Unheralded mare Arabian Rose has provided Sunshine Coast trainer James Healy with his first stakes win, achieving a memorable hometown victory in the Listed Glasshouse Handicap at Caloundra.

The mare was initially placed as the third emergency when the final field was confirmed, and Healy experienced a period of considerable anticipation before Arabian Rose secured a start due to scratchings.

“It has been the plan for a long time and when the ‘noms’ came out, I thought we were absolutely ‘none’,” Healy stated.

“But the stars aligned.

“The Glasshouse is staying home, and we’ll go again next year.”

This triumph was particularly meaningful for jockey Tiffani Brooker, who had been the mare’s regular rider in the early part of her career. A prior ride on the four-year-old at Caloundra in December last year was, by her own admission, a “bum steer”.

Rather than being discouraged, Brooker doubled down on her efforts and worked assiduously to regain the ride, with her perseverance yielding the ultimate reward in Saturday’s running of the Glasshouse Handicap (1400m).

“I had to sit on the sidelines for a little bit after a bum steer last preparation,” Brooker commented.

“I had a bit of success on her early days, but I did my time, and I kept showing up.

“I thought at the end of the carnival, if she gets a light weight, I might be back on her, just keep showing up.

“James was a bit nervous before the race and I said, ‘don’t worry, I’ll give her her chance and if she’s good enough, she’ll win.”

Arabian Rose ($19) obliged, forging ahead in the straight and finding the necessary determination for Brooker to narrowly defeat Cifrado ($12), with Anemacore ($12) finishing third in a close finish where the top three horses were separated by less than half a length.

Arabian Rose caused a significant upset for many followers of the racing markets, returning a dividend of $19 with leading Aussie betting sites, while Cifrado and Anemacore, both starting at $12, had attracted considerable interest across betting apps Australia.

Cellarmaster ($5.50) secured victory in the Winx Guineas by the narrowest of margins over Platinum Pantheon ($6.50), with Rustemo ($8.50) finishing a respectable third.

The winning dividend for Cellarmaster was $5.50, while the leading fancy, Within The Law ($2.60), was unable to make an impact despite considerable market interest.

Within The Law, the $2.60 favourite and a stablemate of Thebudgiesmugla, was positioned behind the early leaders and gained an opening in the straight, but faded to sixth, beaten by more than three lengths.

Trainer Charlton expressed that Cellarmaster had earned his significant race win.

“He enjoys being ridden a bit quieter, and we have learned that with him. It was a good performance,” Charlton said.

“I think he’ll keep improving, he’s definitely not the finished article. He’s a chance to run a bit further in time as well.”

Charlton explained that after Cellarmaster’s third place in the Phar Lap Stakes in Sydney during the autumn carnival, the intention was to target the Gunsynd Classic at Eagle Farm, but the horse finished fifth behind Skyhook.

“We thought the Gunsynd was his sort of race, which it arguably was, but it was a bit stronger than normal because those horses like Skyhook didn’t get a run in the Stradbroke,” Charlton said.

“But this was a touch weaker.

“We’ll give him a break and think about what we do. He is Magic Millions eligible so whether we think late summer prep into the Magic Millions, or whether we give him a couple of weeks off and come into the spring, we need to figure that out.”

Following his Winx Guineas success, Cellarmaster faces a decision between a late summer preparation for the Magic Millions or a spell leading into the spring racing season.

Wakefield Trinity ran in nine tries as they thrashed Castleford Tigers to boost their Super League top-four hopes at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Daryl Powell’s side climbed to third on 24 points after recording six wins in their past seven games.

Castleford were a mess and Wakefield took full advantage as Cameron Scott, Tom Johnstone and Caleb Hamlin-Uele each scored twice.

Lachlan Walmsley, Tyson Smoothy and Josh Rourke also went over, before Jason Qareqare replied a minute before time to avoid total humiliation for Castleford.

Scotland international Walmsley marked his spectacular one-handed finish in the corner by pulling out an Uno +4 card from his sock, with £180 being donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association by sponsors for every try celebration during Magic Weekend.

As majestic as Wakefield were, Castleford gave them a massive helping hand and Walmsley caught Jake Trueman’s kick and laid the ball off for Scott to go over in the right corner for their first score in the third minute.

It was one-way traffic and Trinity had two tries ruled out before winger Johnstone crossed in the left corner in the 16th minute.

Hamlin-Uele came off the bench to score their third try when he powered through two tackles to go over near the posts.

They were almost scoring at will as Castleford made mistake after mistake while missing 44 tackles.

Wakefield extended their lead to 20-0 when Scott collected Jack Sinfield’s pass and broke inside to go over for his second score.

They were enjoying themselves as Walmsley showed following his acrobatic try in the right corner after 47 minutes to make it 24-0.

Not to be left out, Trinity’s forwards got in on the act and Smoothy smashed through the Castleford defence to score by the posts on 51 minutes.

Hamlin-Uele scored his second try – and he will hardly record an easier one all season – as he walked through two Castleford tackles to go over.

Johnstone bagged his second try on 65 minutes when Wakefield passed the ball along their backline from a scrum, before Rourke caught Sinfield’s kick to crash over for their ninth try.

Qareqare, though, continued his hot streak with a 10th try in seven games, but it provided little consolation for ninth-placed Castleford.

The visitors reduced the hosts to 58/1 by stumps on Day 2, leaving the West Indies trailing by 491 runs. With plenty of batting still to come, Day 3 will be crucial as the home side attempt to dig themselves out of a daunting first-innings deficit.

West Indies Face Stern Test
The opening session could prove decisive for the hosts. John Campbell, unbeaten on 31, and Kavem Hodge, on 6 not out, safely negotiated the closing overs on Day 2 after the early loss of Brandon King.

However, with nearly 500 runs still to erase, the West Indies will need to produce disciplined batting performances and build substantial partnerships to avoid falling further behind.

Sri Lanka’s Bowlers Hold the Upper Hand
Despite arriving for the series with injury concerns, Sri Lanka’s bowling attack has continued to impress.

Fast bowler Asitha Fernando provided the breakthrough by dismissing Brandon King late on Day 2, while left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya maintained relentless accuracy, conceding just five runs in five overs before stumps.

As the pitch wears deeper into the match, Jayasuriya is expected to become an even bigger threat, with the surface likely to offer increasing assistance to spin.

Sri Lanka’s commanding position was set up by a superb batting display led by Lahiru Udara, whose marathon 188 anchored the innings.

Pitch and Weather Report
The Antigua surface continues to provide consistent bounce and good value for batters willing to spend time at the crease. While seamers may receive some assistance with the new ball early in the day, the pitch is expected to gradually favour spin as cracks and rough patches begin to develop.

Weather conditions are forecast to remain warm and humid, with a chance of brief passing showers. Any cloud cover could offer the fast bowlers additional movement, particularly during the morning session.

But England do not have to remove direct play from their game entirely.

By managing the space and speed of the game, they can pick their moments to release the likes of Noni Madueke, Anthony Gordon, Marcus Rashford and Jude Bellingham.

If England do opt to play more slowly, they will also be hoping these ‘boring’ spells of play work to silence the Mexican home crowd.

The decision to pick a squad of similar profiles might be one of the more astute decisions Tuchel has made as England boss when it comes to this game too.

With a tactical plan in mind, making five substitutions that do not alter the dynamic of the game greatly, but instead reinforce the plan with freshness and energy as Mexico begin to tire could be the difference.

This could indeed be a match full of mini-games and picking moments in which to change things will be key.

Tuchel, as we’ve seen throughout his club career, and most recently against DR Congo, has a knack for getting mid-game tweaks right but the many variables of the game against Mexico make this one of his toughest challenges yet.

Manjack appeared in five games in 2022, but his time was limited due to a hand injury. Manjack rarely wore gloves, and became a campus sensation when he caught a one-handed pass for a touchdown against UTSA. In 2023-24, Manjack was rewarded for his toughness by being voted by his teammates to wear No. 0, a sign of his mental toughness.

In 2023, Manjack started 10 games, catching 46 passes for 577 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. In 2024, Manjack followed his performance by starting 11 games, hauling in 22 passes for 351 yards and three scores. In 2025, Manjack transferred a final time to TCU, where he finished his college football career. Manjack started all 11 contests, catching 44 passes for a career-high 579 yards and three touchdowns last fall.

Broncos tenure: Manjack was one of 13 undrafted free agents signed by the Denver Broncos in the immediate aftermath of the 2026 NFL draft. Manjack will make his Denver debut during preseason this summer.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Slim. Manjack enters a crowded wide receiver room which features the likes of Jaylen Waddle, Marvin Mims and Courtland Sutton. Manjack may not be with the Broncos by the time roster cuts happen in August, but he could be a candidate to find a spot on the practice squad.

MUNICH (AP) — South African Michael Hollick eagled the final hole to defeat countryman Hennie Du Plessis and win the BMW International Open for his first European tour victory on Sunday.

The 39-year-old Hollick also birdied the 17th hole for a final-round 5-under 67, ending at 18 under for the tournament.

“I didn’t really know what the scores were,” Hollick said. “I hit two perfect five irons on 17th and 18th, so couldn’t have asked for much more, really.”

Hollick had bogeyed the 16th and Du Plessis was two shots clear at the top coming into the 17th, but a bogey-par finish kept him at 17 under for the tournament.

Hollick, in his rookie season in the DP World Tour, said that four years ago he had “put the clubs in the cabinet” and started coaching for a while.

“It’s amazing, honestly, just given myself and my family such a good opportunity,” Hollick said.

Bob Arum has highlighted one of Terence Crawford’s greatest attributes, questioning whether Jaron Ennis would have the wizardry to overcome it.

Despite hanging up his gloves in December, ‘Bud’ has been repeatedly mentioned as a potential opponent for Ennis, who comes off a career-best victory over Xander Zayas.

The 29-year-old was considered a clear favourite heading into their showdown last weekend, yet it was nonetheless an awe-inspiring performance as he scored three knockdowns en route to a seventh-round stoppage victory.

As a result, ‘Boots’ became a two-division unified champion by claiming the WBO and WBA super-welterweight titles, dethroning one of the flagship fighters at 154lbs.

Against Crawford, however, many believe that Ennis would enjoy comparatively meagre success, even with the 38-year-old having seemingly settled into retirement.

The American’s last outing saw him dethrone Canelo Alvarez in September, becoming a three-division undisputed champion by scoring a unanimous decision victory at 168lbs.

‘Bud’ was arguably most effective at 147lbs, though, as suggested by his surprisingly one-sided ninth-round stoppage victory over Errol Spence Jr in July 2023.

While considering this performance, in particular, Top Rank promoter Arum told FightHype that he wonders how Ennis would compete with Crawford’s switch-hitting style.

“Crawford is an awfully good fighter, and it would take a real wizard to beat him. Crawford has something that no other fighter around has … He fights equally well as a southpaw and a right-hander.

“Usually, the fighter he’s fighting trains for him as an orthodox fighter – and so, from the first round, he’ll turn southpaw, and the guy isn’t ready for him. That’s what beat Spence.”

While Crawford is more accomplished, as a former five-division world champion, Ennis has also proven to be equally effective when fighting out of the orthodox and southpaw stances.

Eight weeks later, the Vikings face the Atlanta Falcons, a team that could be led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who called Flores a “terrible person” in the summer of 2024.
