In 2025, some movies stood out for the wrong reasons. At a time when even the biggest projects aren’t guaranteed box office success, some flop harder than others. From the mediocrity of Dwayne Johnson‘s The Smashing Machine‘s run in theaters and an underwhelming performance from Bong Joon-ho‘s Mickey 17, to the biggest franchises releasing major letdowns, including Disney’s live-action Snow White remake and the MCU’s Captain America: Brave New World 2025 cinema was a mixed bag.

But of all these failures, few flopped quite as hard as Sydney Sweeney‘s boxing biopic Christy. Released in November 2025 at a time when some were quietly predicting Sweeney for an Academy Award nomination, Christy debuted and failed to demand audience attention, despite the lead being one of the most well-known actors in the world. After a $1.2 million opening, the film quietly ran out of steam in just two weeks, concluding its U.S. theatrical run after only 14 days. In total, Christy earned $2.09 million in global revenue, against a fairly small budget of $15 million.

Looking at these numbers, you’d be forgiven for thinking this movie was terrible. On the contrary, many reviews for Christy were positively glowing, especially when commenting on Sweeney’s lead performance. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film earned a 67% score from critics and a near-perfect 94% from audiences. The consensus on the site reads, “While Christy falters in tonal cohesion and emotional impact, it remains a compelling showcase for Sydney Sweeney’s transformative performance, grounding a mythic genre in raw, personal storytelling.” In Ross Bonaime‘s review for Collider, he wrote:

“As a platform for Sweeney to show her broad talents as an actress, Christy is undoubtedly successful, as she finds the heart and sadness within Christy Martin. But Michôd’s film doesn’t make that life story quite as riveting as it should be, which is what Martin deserves.”

‘Christy’ Has Bounced Back

On April 10, Christy made its way to a new streaming site, becoming one of many fresh arrivals on HBO Max. Five months on from its disastrous theatrical run, Christy has found redemption in America, officially becoming the most-watched movie on HBO Max, at the time of writing. This instant success has knocked another 2025 theatrical underperformer from the top spot on HBO Max: From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.

According to PEOPLE, on Sunday, April 12, Miss J Alexander attended the New York City premiere of Broadway’s “Titanique,” which marks his first red carpet appearance since suffering a stroke in 2022.

Despite still being unable to walk and using a wheelchair, Miss J still showed off his fashion sense. 

Per the outlet, the long-time fashion fixture wore a button-up shirt with wide-leg jeans, a scarf, and a black beanie. He completed his ensemble with one Converse shoe on one foot and a medical boot on the other. 

Miss J Previously Shared His Determination To Walk Again

In the Netflix docuseries, “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model”, Alexander explained the seriousness of his stroke.

“I spent five weeks in a coma … I couldn’t walk, and I couldn’t talk, and I thought to myself, ‘What was I going to do?’ After spending five weeks in a coma and one year, five months in the hospital, I’m alive to tell it as I lived it, and no dreams of the afterlife, not one,” he said.

Despite still being unable to walk, the famed former runway coach is determined to get back to his roots.

“I miss being the queen of the runway, the queen of the catwalk, of course,” the former “America’s Next Top Model” judge said. “I’m the person who taught models how to walk. I taught models how to walk, and now I can’t walk. I’m determined to walk. I’m sure you’re going to see me again. I’m sure. It’s not over for me yet.”

A Friend Created A GoFundMe For Miss J After The ‘ANTM’ Documentary Was Released

Steven Grossman, a talent manager and producer, shared a throwback photo on Instagram of himself with Miss J Alexander, Jay Manuel, and Kelly Cutrone, paired with a lengthy caption about his health struggles before asking his followers to contribute to the GoFundMe.

“I started a @gofundme to help @miss_jalexander with the overwhelming financial burden of medical bills and long-term care,” Grossman’s caption read in part. “So if Miss J ever made you smile or laugh – I hope you will consider donating or sharing with your community. Let’s all come together for someone who has inspired so much joy, confidence, and individuality in all of us.”

In the comments of the post, an Instagram user asked Grossman why he was starting a GoFundMe if he was so close to Alexander, also alluding to his financial status as a Hollywood manager and producer, and Grossman offered a defense.

“Because he kept it private for years until the Netflix documentary came out, and it wasn’t my news to share,” he wrote in response. “For clarity, though, I’ve never repped Miss J. He’s just a friend.”

Some criticism arose regarding the GoFundMe, specifically as it relates to recent Hollywood figures having fundraisers on the platform, such as late actors Eric Dane and James Van Der Beek.

“Reality Check” director Daniel Sivan revealed in an interview with Netflix that conversations with Miss J prior to filming shaped the way his story was told in the docuseries.

While many fans were confused why Trump had someone drop off food to the White House during such an important meeting, the president discussed the topic of his “No Tax on Tips” policy and the so-called “One Big, Beautiful Bill” passed into law in 2025.

Trump told reporters on Monday that Iran “called this morning” and expressed that they’d “like to work a deal” to end the war overseas as oil prices continue to soar in the U.S.

“[The sticking point] was over nuclear, yeah […] Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” Trump explained while the delivery woman, wearing a red DoorDash polo, continued to stand next to him. “And we agreed to a lot of things but they didn’t agree to that. Now, a new report claims Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, played the biggest role in getting her to finally accept help.

Britney Spears’ Inner Circle Reportedly Pushed For Help For Months

Britney Spears’ latest stint in rehab may have been described publicly as voluntary, but according to the Daily Mail, those closest to the singer had been urging her for some time to take meaningful steps toward recovery.

An insider told the outlet that the 44-year-old had been hesitant despite repeated pleas from family and loved ones. 

“She was dragging her feet. Saying that she’d go but then not really taking any actual steps to do anything,” the source said.

That hesitation reportedly left those around her deeply frustrated and worried. 

The source explained that everyone in Spears’ circle had tried to support her in the gentlest way possible, but nothing seemed to stick. 

“Everyone was telling her that she needed to do something, as encouraging as we could possibly be. Nothing,” they shared. 

That changed when the concern became impossible to push aside any longer, especially after her legal trouble earlier this year. 

Spears’ DUI Arrest Became A Major Wake-Up Call

One of the biggest turning points in Britney Spears’ recent struggles came in March when she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura County, California.

Authorities said the “Toxic” crooner had been weaving in and out of lanes on Highway 101 and appeared to be “driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.” 

The March 4 arrest quickly became headline news and intensified concerns about her health and safety. 

At the time, a representative for Spears called the incident “completely inexcusable” and suggested that the singer understood changes needed to be made.

The rep said Spears was “going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in the long-overdue changes that need to occur in her life.”

However, that was not the first troubling incident tied to Spears’ driving. Months earlier, in October 2025, she had reportedly been seen driving erratically after a night out at the upscale Thousand Oaks restaurant Red-O.

Witnesses reportedly saw Spears accelerate sharply, tailgate other drivers, and even swerve into the wrong lane. 

On top of that, reports earlier this year claimed Spears had fired her sobriety coaches, raising even more questions about whether she was receiving the right support.

Britney Spears’ Sons Stepped In With A Loving But Firm Approach

While friends and family had reportedly been unable to convince Spears to act, her sons are said to have finally gotten through to her.

According to the Daily Mail source, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline became the driving force behind the Grammy Award winner’s decision to enter a treatment facility for 30 days.

“The boys started to get involved. They’re the only ones she listens to, and they were so loving, so kind, but also so firm. This was non-negotiable to them,” the insider said.

That direct involvement appears to have made all the difference. 

The source added that Spears understood just how serious her sons were about wanting her to get better, noting, “She needed to get help and they told her that they wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

Even then, Spears reportedly did not rush to take action. According to the insider, she still delayed the process, even though she was not actively fighting them. 

“So she didn’t fight them, but she dragged her feet. She will do this for them: she wants to please them,” the insider explained. 

Spears’ Sons Gave Her An Ultimatum To Protect Their Future

Ultimately, Britney Spears’ rehab stay appears to have been motivated by one thing above all else: preserving her future with her sons.

According to the source, Sean and Jayden made it clear that their relationship with their mom could not continue in the same way unless she made real changes.

“It was like, ‘Mom you have to go if you want us coming around,’ and that was all the incentive she needed,” the source said.

That ultimatum reportedly landed in exactly the way her family hoped. “She wants a relationship with them, which would have been jeopardized if she didn’t go,” the source added.

For now, those closest to Spears believe she made the right call. The insider said her sons feel encouraged by what they have seen so far and that Spears herself seems to be embracing the process. 

According to them, “So she made the right move and they say she seems happy about it.”

Britney Spears’ Bond With Her Sons Has Always Been Deeply Emotional

Britney Spears’ decision to listen to Sean Preston and Jayden James makes sense given how important her relationship with them has always been.

Last month, Spears posted a photo of herself with Sean and Jayden while they were aboard a yacht, signaling a more positive chapter in their relationship.

While U.S. presidents have historically attempted to refrain from personal business dealings while assuming the highest office in the land, the Trump family’s business expansion could potentially reshape the presidency as we know it.

According to a Monday, April 13, report published by the Associated Press, President Donald Trump’s “family real estate business is undergoing the fastest overseas expansion since its founding.”

Per the report, these overseas ventures are being helmed by some of the president’s children, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., which includes an expansion “into cryptocurrencies with ventures that brought in billions of dollars.”

Adding fuel to the controversy fire, Trump, 79, shared an AI image depicting himself as Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 12, sparking intense backlash among critics and fans alike.

“Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this,” conservative and anti-trans commentator Riley Gaines — an avid Trump supporter — wrote via X. “Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this?”

The former collegiate athlete added, “Either way, two things are true. 1) a little humility would serve him well 2) God shall not be mocked.”

The commander-in-chief later deleted the image, claiming he was not likening himself to the Christian Jesus but was instead depicting himself as a “doctor.”

Legendary ESPN announcer Dick Vitale announced he has been diagnosed with cancer for the fifth time.

“Today, my oncologist, Dr. Brown, informed me that my biopsy results have confirmed a diagnosis of melanoma in my lung and liver cavity,” Vitale, 86, said in a statement to ESPN on Monday, April 13. “I will be starting immunotherapy shortly and I plan on winning this battle.”

The sports commentator continued, “I’ve beaten melanoma. I’ve beaten lymphoma. I’ve beaten vocal chord cancer. I’ve beaten lymph node cancer. I’m four-for-four and I’m fully confident I’m going to make it five-for-five.”

Vitale added that he felt “truly overwhelmed by the love, support, prayers and messages” he’s received from family, friends, colleagues and fans.

“Their support has inspired me to keep fighting and I will do everything in my power to win another battle,” he wrote. “The best news I can share today is this: I feel fantastic.”

Vitale also shared that in addition to focusing on his cancer battle, he is raising money for children who have also been diagnosed with cancer and who likely do not have the same access to vital healthcare.

“At 86 years young, I’ve lived a hell of a life, and I’m more motivated than ever to raise money for kids battling cancer,” he reflected. “No child should ever have to go through what I’ve experienced.”

Vitale revealed that $105 million has been raised ahead of the gala for his Dick Vitale Gala on May 1. The fundraiser supports pediatric cancer research, with the goal of raising an additional 12 million.

Brandi Glanville’s latest attempt at a home remedy ended with a trip to urgent care after a TikTok health hack went badly wrong. 

The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said she was trying to fight off a cold when she followed viral advice involving garlic, only for the clove to get lodged in her ear. 

The bizarre mishap comes after years of serious health struggles that Glanville says have already cost her hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Brandi Glanville’s TikTok Cold Remedy Quickly Backfired

Brandi Glanville recently revealed that a seemingly harmless TikTok trend landed her in urgent care after a clove of garlic got lodged in her ear. 

Speaking candidly on her “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” podcast, the 53-year-old said she was trying to shake off a cold she caught from her 18-year-old son, Jake.

Like many people looking for fast relief, Glanville said she came across videos claiming garlic could help clear congested sinuses. However, her experiment quickly spiraled. 

Instead of helping, the garlic clove slipped farther into her ear canal than she expected. “It really went down further and I had to go to urgent care the next day and get it taken out,” she admitted.

Glanville explained that she had first tried placing the garlic in her nostril, but it quickly became too painful due to recent cosmetic work. “It was burning too much so I moved it to my ear. It was like burning my skin because I’d just lasered it,” she said.

Looking back, Glanville said the whole ordeal was a reminder that not every online trend is worth trying. “I was just trying to clear my sinuses. It’s online. Don’t listen to people online or TikTok or Instagram or Twitter or Facebook,” she said

Glanville Has Been Fighting Major Health Issues For Years

The urgent care visit is just the latest setback in what has already been a long and exhausting health journey for Brandi Glanville.

Over the past few years, the former Bravo star has been vocal about dealing with serious medical problems that she says have affected nearly every part of her life.

One of the biggest battles involved a severe facial condition that she initially believed was caused by parasites she contracted while filming “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club 2” in Morocco in 2023.

According to the 53-year-old, the infection led to major facial swelling and disfigurement, forcing her to seek answers from specialist after specialist. 

Glanville said she spent about $200,000 trying to understand what was happening and to repair the damage.

“I went to 21 doctors and I’m telling you, $200,000 … the people at my insurance … let’s just say sucks,” she said on the “I Do Part 2” podcast per the Daily Mail. 

Glanville explained that she consulted nearly every type of specialist possible, including infectious disease experts and rheumatologists, in search of answers.

Brandi Glanville Says Ruptured Implants Nearly Cost Her Everything

Earlier this year, Glanville learned that another hidden issue may have been making her health crisis even worse. 

The former model underwent surgery in early February with Dr. Ariel Ourian to remove and replace her ruptured breast implants, which she had reportedly had for about 18 years.

According to Glanville, doctors discovered that the leaking implants had caused silicone to spread into her lymph nodes, which may have been blocking her body’s ability to heal.

Speaking about the situation, Glanville revealed the issue was far more serious than she first realized. She explained that she definitely had a parasite, but said her implants were also completely ruptured and had left her with silicone in her lymph nodes.

She later revealed that a technician explained the connection between the implants and her facial swelling. “Whatever’s going on in your face, it can’t drain because your lymph nodes are clogged with silicone,” she recalled being told per The Blast. 

For Glanville, the surgery was not just cosmetic, it was necessary. “It’s something that I could die from if I hadn’t figured it out,” she said. Though she now says she feels much better after the procedure, she still believes the parasite issue also played a major role in her ongoing symptoms.

Glanville Says Her Health Struggles Changed Her Entire Life

Beyond the physical pain, Brandi Glanville says her health battle has deeply affected her confidence, relationships, and career. 

She has been open about how emotionally difficult the past few years have been, especially while trying to deal with public scrutiny.

On the “I Do Part 2” podcast, Glanville admitted that the constant health issues left her feeling like her life had been turned upside down.

“I haven’t had sex in three years. The whole time I’ve been sick because I’ve lost my confidence,” she shared. The reality TV star said the fallout stretched far beyond just her appearance.

In her words, “And I felt like I lost everything at once in a weird way. Like I lost my job, I lost my reputation, I lost my looks.” 

Brandi Glanville Reacts To LeAnn Rimes Video

Glanville recently sparked reactions after weighing in on LeAnn Rimes’ viral jaw massage video, and she clearly wasn’t impressed. 

Reacting on the April 3 episode of her “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” podcast, the TV personality said she was confused by Rimes’ decision to share such a raw moment online. 

“I don’t understand why I saw it,” Glanville said per The Blast, explaining that she had undergone the same deep jaw release treatment “a million times” because of her TMJ. 

She added that while the procedure was painful, “it’s just not that big of a deal.” 

When co-host James Maas pointed out that Rimes had been openly documenting her health journey, Glanville fired back with a pointed remark, “Oh, like me. So weird.” She then added, “I just don’t know why you share that.”

Things go from bad to worse when Miles is approached by his own alternate version — the super villain known as The Prowler. After some friendly banter, our hero Miles Morales pleads for the evil duo’s help to stop his father’s death from happening. After the chat doesn’t work, Miles uses his powers to break out of his confines, and we’re thrown into the dazzling animated world that we’ve come to know and love — filled with familiar faces, including Spider-Gwen (Steinfeld), Spider Ham (John Mulaney) and even Peter B. Many of your favorites will be back in action for what’s being billed as the final chapter in the Spider-Verse story. For starters, Brian Tyree Henry will return to lend his vocal talents to the character of Jefferson Morales, aka Miles’ father, who is in deep trouble at the start of the new movie. There’s also Lauren Vélez (Dexter), Issa Rae (Insecure), Karan Soni (Deadpool), Nicolas Cage (The Wicker Man), Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), Liev Schreiber (Scream), Greta Lee (The Morning Show) and more.
