Motor sports betting guide: Best NASCAR betting strategies, F1 betting tips, more

Published

on

Motor sports have skyrocketed in popularity over the last few years, which has brought mainstream sports fans to F1 betting and NASCAR betting through pop culture, including the Daytona 500. We’ll take a look at how sportsbooks operate when it comes to motor sports, how bettors can wager on racing events and go over some of the best strategies and tips when it comes to racing betting.

Finding the best sportsbook promos for motor sports betting

Here’s a look at some of the promotions going on at top sportsbooks for fans interested in getting into motor sports betting.

The DraftKings promo code, FanDuel, and bet365 are all offering “bet and get” promotions where users receive bonus bets after an initial wager. DraftKings and FanDuel both require a $5 bet to get started — DraftKings rewards new users with $300 in bonus bets if that first wager wins, while FanDuel returns $250 in bonus bets on a winning first bet. bet365 takes a different approach, handing out $200 in bonus bets after a $10 wager regardless of the outcome.

The BetMGM bonus code and Fanatics Sportsbook promo structure their offers around what happens after you place your first bet. BetMGM covers a user’s first bet up to $1,500 with bonus bets if that first bet loses, but users must wager at least $1,500 to be eligible for the full amount. Fanatics gives new users a choice between a 10-day bet match — up to $100 per day in FanCash — or a 100% Profit Boost Token each day for five days.

Caesars Sportsbook offers to bet $1+ and double your winnings on your next 10 bets, in the form of ten 100% Profit Boost Tokens. The first bet must have a minimum -10,000 odds.

Before you get into motor sports betting, it’s important to find a sportsbook that consistently provides odds for races. There’s always value in shopping around multiple sportsbooks for the best lines, but some platforms do not offer extensive betting markets for motorsports compared to others.

What do motor sports odds mean?

When it comes to motorsports and racing markets, odds are displayed and read similarly to how they are for most sports. Let’s say a driver is priced at -150 to win the Monaco Grand Prix on June 7th, and the next best driver has +200 odds. That means the driver at -150 is a decent favorite to win, and you’d have to risk $150 to win $100. The second driver is a contender but is unlikely to win in the eyes of oddsmakers, but you’d win $200 after risking $100 if he does indeed pull off the upset.

When you can bet on motor sports odds

The racing schedule varies across NASCAR, F1 and IndyCar but there are usually weekly races with occasional breaks. NASCAR has multiple series, so there’s usually at least one race across the series every weekend. F1 has a set calendar for the year with some breaks in between, but there are junior Formula racing series that might be going on in some of the gaps on the main circuit.

Typically, the actual race will take place on a Sunday. There will be practice on either Thursday or Friday, with a qualifying event to set up the grid on either Friday or Saturday depending on the race schedule. Qualifying usually takes place the day before the race. Bettors can wager on qualifying outcomes as well, and those results will shift the race odds.

Biggest races for motor sports betting

Arguably, the biggest sporting event in the racing world is the Indianapolis 500, which is traditionally held on Memorial Day weekend. That’s the premier IndyCar event.

NASCAR has several big races, with the Daytona 500, a Crown Jewel event, regarded as the richest race on the circuit. The Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte and the Brickyard 400 are also considered Crown Jewel events. Talladega Speedway is a widely known track thanks to the movie “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”, but it is not a Crown Jewel event.

Every F1 race has its unique twist, as the tracks are different in each city, but Monaco is considered the biggest spectacle of the season. The race itself is somewhat mundane, as there’s little opportunity for drivers to pass each other. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and the Singapore Grand Prix are considered some marquee events on the F1 calendar. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is also a high-profile event as it is typically last on the calendar and could decide who wins the drivers championship and constructors championship. F1 has also added special events like Miami and Las Vegas.

Types of bets and how motor sports betting works

Like all sports betting markets, there are a variety of ways prospective bettors can wager on motor sports. Here’s a look at some of them.

Outright/To Win odds

This market is straightforward. Users are betting on which driver will win the event. There are also markets here for which team/constructor car will win the event, which will have multiple cars involved.

Placement/Top Finish odds

Motor sports betting offers users the ability to wager on drivers or teams having a certain placement or finishing within a certain range. For example, you can wager on drivers to place in the top 5 or top 10 of the event. You can do the same with teams/constructors.

While it rarely occurs in racing, there’s a possibility of multiple drivers tying for a position. In this case, technically there are multiple winning bets but sportsbooks grade dead heats differently and the payouts can be different. If FanDuel declares a dead heat, half the stake is applied at the original odds and half the stake is lost. If there are more than two dead heats, the stakes are proportioned accordingly.

Dual Forecast

This is where bettors can place a wager on which drivers will finish first and second. Both drivers must finish in the correct order for this wager to be paid out as a win. For example, you can wager on Max Verstappen and Lando Norris to finish first and second, respectively in a Dual Forecast market in F1 betting. However, if Verstappen finishes second and Norris finishes first, your bet will lose even though you did correctly pick the top two drivers for the race.

Each Way Betting

This might not be as common in motor sports but can be applied to racing betting. An each way bet basically places two wagers: a driver to win and to finish above another position. If the driver wins, both bets get paid out. The same applies for team bets in this market.

Stage Winner

This is prevalent in NASCAR and IndyCar, which has more laps than Formula One. You can bet on which driver or team will be in the lead after 25 laps, 50 laps, 100 laps and so on. These are the stages.

Matchups/Head-to-Head

Sportsbooks will put two drivers or two teams against each other and bettors can choose which one will place higher. For teams, the bet is usually on the highest-placed driver for that particular team. For example, if a market was being offered on F1 to see if Ferrari or Mercedes placed higher, a winning Ferrari driver would give Ferrari bettors the win even if the Mercedes drivers combined to finish higher than the Ferrari drivers.

Group Winner

This is offered in NASCAR. Sportsbooks will put a handful of drivers in groups and ask which will be the winner of the group.

Top Car Make Driver

This is also specific to NASCAR, where you can bet on whether the winning driver will be in a particular car manufacturer, like Ford or Chevy. It’s more applicable here since there are only two drivers on each F1 constructor, while car brands can span several NASCAR teams.

Team of Race Winner

This is similar to Outright Winner for drivers but applies to teams and constructors.

Qualifying Bets

Bettors can wager on who will take pole position and which cars will be on pole. These are determined during qualifying racing, which typically takes place the day before the race. You can also bet on markets offering odds for who will finish in the top 5 or top 10 in qualifying, though these necessarily aren’t available for every race. The results of qualifying will often shift the race odds.

Motor sports futures betting

Formula 1 betting

In most cases, F1 futures usually apply to the next race. However, you can bet on season-long futures for the drivers and constructors championships. The drivers championship is straightforward as it will be given to the driver who accumulates the most points over the season. The constructors championship takes into account the points for both team drivers. Only the top 10 finishers in each race score points, and those points are tallied over the season. The winning driver can be part of a constructors championship, but that’s not always the case.

NASCAR betting

NASCAR has different portions of the season. There are also different circuits like the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series and Truck Series. You can bet on marquee races for NASCAR in the futures market, and you can also wager on winners for these particular series.

IndyCar

The major marquee futures market for IndyCar is the Indianapolis 500. Other than that race, there are season-long championship odds for the circuit.

Can you parlay wagers in motor sports betting?

While parlaying is generally not advised, as you don’t get appropriate odds from sportsbooks that correspond to the actual chance of your bet winning, you are able to parlay outcomes in motor sports betting. While you can’t pick multiple drivers to win an event in a parlay, you can pick multiple drivers to finish in the top 5 or top 10. You can also pick teams to finish in the top 5 or top 10.

How to bet on motor sports live during a race

Sportsbooks do offer live odds for motor sports, though this is likely a more prominent feature for NASCAR and IndyCar as opposed to F1. Driver and team odds will shift based on where they are in the grand scheme of the race. NASCAR and IndyCar allow for more leeway since there are more laps, while F1 can sometimes shift quickly towards one driver or team.

Tips and strategies for how to bet on motor sports

Driver form does matter when it comes to racing, but the biggest predictor of success is usually how each team can adjust to conditions. Races can take place in all kinds of weather and team strategy can make or break the day. There are some teams that struggle to adjust, and bettors should know which teams those are before placing wagers.

Historical track success does matter, but it often takes a back seat to current form. For example, Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix three years in a row and was a contender after starting second behind George Russell in 2025. Russell has had mixed results in Montreal historically, but wound up winning the race after winning qualifying to take pole position.

Longshots don’t usually win races, but it’s not uncommon to see them do well in the Placement markets. You can usually back drivers who have had success on certain tracks or who have routinely finished just outside of a certain position market to break through eventually.

Occasionally, a caution flag comes out when there’s a crash on the track, which makes racing conditions hazardous for everyone. When this happens, there will be a safety car deployed, and all drivers must line up behind the safety car until the wreck is managed. This has sometimes happened on the last lap of the race, which can completely eliminate the leader’s edge on the field.

There are different rules for each association and sometimes the race organizer makes a call in the moment, but usually, the race cannot end on a caution flag. If the wreck is too big to clear in a reasonable amount of time, the race will end despite the caution flag being signaled. Overtime doesn’t really exist, but usually there will be at least one additional lap of racing should the fallout of the crash get removed in a timely manner and the safety car gets taken off the track.

FAQ

Can you bet on motor sports?

As long as you are of legal age in a state where sports betting is legitimate, you should be able to find a sportsbook which provides racing and motor sports odds.

Who to bet on for the Indy 500?

Because the Indy 500 typically takes place over Memorial Day weekend, you’ll have to wait for a bit before placing wagers on who will win the signature event. Josef Newgarden won the Indy 500 in 2023 and 2024 but Alex Palou won in 2025 and is the reigning champion.

Can you bet on SuperCross?

SuperCross is a type of motorcycle racing and some sportsbooks do offer SuperCross odds in certain states.

Can you bet on motocross at DraftKings?

DraftKings does provide SuperCross odds, which is a motocross competition, in select states. You must be of legal age and residing in those states to bet on motocross at DraftKings.

Moscatel stuns on debut with Scone 2026 in sights

Published

on

Adrian Bott harbours hopes for Black Type success in Moscatel’s two-year-old season despite her absence from Sydney Autumn Carnival’s juvenile stars, following her striking Monday debut triumph.

The costly filly by Snitzel powered to success in Kensington’s $65,000 Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines 2YO Handicap over 1100m.

About a week post the Carnival’s Sydney exit, her 4-1/2 length margin prompted Bott to scout standalone regional races or northern options, as the half-sister to Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes winner Eneeza.

“There is a two-year-old fillies race at Scone that she might be well-suited to, the Listed Woodlands Sakes,” Bott said.

“That’s the reason we wanted to be here today and that should give her enough time to get through to a race like that or, if not, we could look through to Queensland.”

The Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m), worth $200,000, headlines the second day of Scone’s carnival on Saturday May 16.

Tim Clark partnered Moscatel to a debut display befitting a Stakes horse.

From a sharp start, the $3 favourite pressed forward comfortably, exploded away early straight, and dominated Sing Your Song ($12) by daylight, the latter holding second by three-quarters-of-a-length from Quarterback ($14).

“I thought I was the winner about three strides after the start, it was pretty much race over once she began like she did,” Clark said.

Moscatel, by Group 2 winner Sweet Sherry, was acquired for $1.6 million last year at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by Adrian Bott, Gai Waterhouse and Resolute Racing’s John Stewart.

The trainer had eyed a pre-Golden Slipper outing initially, but extra development time has proven beneficial for Moscatel.

“We bought her as a nice precocious type, but she’s just needed that little bit of time and we’ve always been happy to be patient with her, there’s been absolutely no rush,” he said.

“So she’s got herself here on her own merits today and I’m sure there’s a lot of upside off the back of today.”

Fans can check betting sites for the race markets surrounding Moscatel’s path to Scone via betting sites.

BREAKING: Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua finally signed as fight announcement made

Published

on

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have officially signed to fight one another in a heavyweight clash 10 years in the making, as combat sports fans finally get the bout they’ve been dreaming of

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have signed to fight each other in a highly-anticipated grudge match 10 years in the making. Saudi Arabian boxing executive, Turki Alalsheikh announced the fight on social media, although there is yet to be confirmation from either camp.

He wrote: “To my friends in Great Britain – it’s happening. It’s signed.”

Joshua will first have a warn-up fight in July, although an opponent is yet to be announced for that bout. Fury, meanwhile, returned to the squared-circle earlier this month to claim a unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov after 12 gruelling rounds.

In the aftermath of that fight, which landed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Joshua in attendance, Fury revealed that he had already signed to face his long-time rival. However, Joshua was apprehensive to respond to Fury’s gauntlet on the night, teasing the Gypsy King for his antics.

Fury said: “Thank you everyone for coming out tonight. I really appreciate every single one of you guys. 16 months out and we fill up Tottenham again. But like I said, let me get Arslanbek Makhmudov out the way and we’ll talk next.

“Next I want to give you the fight you’ve all been waiting for. I want you, AJ. Anthony Joshua.”

He added: “Let’s give the fight fans what they want. Here’s my challenge. I challenge you Anthony Joshua, to fight me, Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, NEXT! Do you accept my challenge? Let him say yes or no now. Come on you big s***house, are you going to fight or not?”

Opting to remain in his seat following a tense staring contest, Joshua poured cold water on the idea of a fight. He replied: “Tyson you’re a clout chaser. I’ve never had no problem getting in the ring with you.

“I punched you up when we were kids. And after watching you here tonight, I’ll punch you up again. With all due respect, tonight is your night and you know I’ll sit across that ring from you in due time.

“You ain’t going to tell me what to do. I’ve been chasing you for the last 10 years. When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions and I’ll have you in the ring when I’m ready.

“I’m the boss. You work for me. I’m the landlord, remember that, you work for me.”

Now, however, it appears as though AJ has changed his tune, with the two potentially meeting in the ring at the end of the year. Should Joshua avoid any serious injury in his warm-up bout, a fight night in November could be on the cards.

Booker T says he always believed in WWE star Danhausen when others did not

Published

on

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Danhausen’s popularity in WWE skyrocketed over the course of just a few weeks.

He made his debut at the Elimination Chamber, stepping out of the mystery box that left Raw general manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis befuddled for weeks. While his character didn’t exactly resonate with fans at first, he became uber popular as he “cursed” several of his pro wrestling colleagues.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T said he believed Danhausen would work no matter what.

“When Danhausen came in, everybody crapped on him,” he recalled in an interview with Fox News Digital. “Everybody was like, ‘Man, what the heck is going on? This is not gonna work.’ Everybody except me. I’m literally the minority in this whole thing. I said, look guys, I don’t know what everybody is thinking about but when you take wrestlers and characters like Danhausen out of the wrestling business, you lose sight on what the wrestling business truly is.

“We need the George ‘The Animal’ Steeles of this business. We need those characters that’s going to come out and bring the levity down and just make you feel a certain way and just fun for you. And I said this guy is going to be a merchandizing, you know, a marketing machine. And he’s proved to be everything that I said he was gonna be. So, for me, I love the Danhausen character being a part of WWE. I said, if I never did the spina-rooni, what would my career have been? If The Rock never did the People’s Elbow, where would have careers have gone without that? So, for me, I love having Danhausen as a part of WWE.”

Danhausen has been featured on Raw and SmackDown since his debut with the company, but his feud with The Miz turned up a notch as he ruined The Miz’s WrestleMania moment and defeated him in a match on SmackDown.

Danhausen has also laid a “curse” upon the New York Mets and ESPN broadcaster Stephen A. Smith in recent weeks.

Robot runners beat humans in Beijing half-marathon

Published

on

A humanoid robot has been declared champion at a half-marathon running race held in Beijing, China, on Sunday, far outpacing human participants and beating the world record.

The autonomously navigated robot Shandian was presented with the laurels after a remote-controlled robot, Lightning, who technically finished first, was denied the prize under the event’s weighted scoring rules.

Big robotic improvement

Shandian completed the 21-kilometer (around 13-mile) course in Beijing’s Yizhuang district with a time of 50:26, while Lightning achieved a time of 48:19.

Both times were faster than the human record for the distance set by Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo, who ran a time of 57:20 at the Lisbon Half Marathon in March.

In the inaugural event in Beijing last year, the fastest robot needed a little over 2 hours and 40 minutes to reach the finishing line.

For the race, thousands of human contenders joined robots from 100 companies and research institutions, with barriers separating the robots’ running track from that of the humans.

China at the forefront in robotic development

The course included more than 10 types of terrain, including flat roads, slopes, curves and narrow sections, to test the robots’ capabilities.

A robot also served as a traffic officer, directing the participants with arm gestures and voice, state broadcaster CCTV said.

Not all robots managed to cope, with one falling flat at the starting line and another colliding with a barrier.

Beijing E-Town said about 40% of the robots navigated the course autonomously, while the others were remotely controlled.

China is seeking to become the global leader in the robotics industry and has put in place subsidies and infrastructure projects to boost local firms.

2026 PGA Championship odds, predictions, field, date: Picks from 10,000 simulations

Published

on

Major season got off to a thrilling start as Rory McIlroy defended his championship at Augusta to win his second straight Masters. Up next is the PGA Championship, which tees off on Thursday, May 14 from Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa. Scottie Scheffler, who finished second at both the Masters and this past week’s RBC Heritage, is the defending PGA Championship winner after he prevailed by five strokes at Quail Hollow last year.

The latest 2026 PGA Championship odds via FanDuel list Scheffler as the +350 favorite (risk $100 to win $350), with McIlroy (+650), Bryson DeChambeau (+1000) and Jon Rahm (+1400) among the other early 2026 PGA Championship contenders. Before locking in any 2026 PGA Championship picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, simulated every PGA Tour event 10,000 times and reveals golf betting picks that have a history of being extremely profitable.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 17 majors entering the weekend, including the 2026 Masters — its fifth Masters in a row — as well as last year’s PGA Championship and Open Championship. Anyone who has followed its sports betting picks could have seen massive returns on betting sites

Now that the 2026 PGA Championship field beginning to take shape, the model simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard, which you can use for PGA picks, one and done contests or PGA DFS lineups.

2026 PGA Championship predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the PGA Championship 2026: It projects that DeChambeau barely cracks the top 5 despite being one of the favorites at +1000. DeChambeau missed the cut at the 2026 Masters and then struggled mightily in Mexico City two weeks ago, falling 16 shots behind the lead before withdrawing with wrist discomfort. He has recorded three straight top-five finishes at the PGA Championship, but has also missed the cut twice and finished outside the top 30 two other times at this event. See who else to fade here

Another surprise: The model projects a strong showing from Tommy Fleetwood, who has longer odds at +2500. The 2025 Tour Championship winner is still looking for his first major win. He’s in strong form this season, however, recording four top-10 finishes. He was contending for another top-10 at the Masters this year before a fourth-round 76 dropped him down the leaderboard. Fleetwood has strong metrics off the tee this year, but has struggled with his putting, so if he can have a better weekend on the greens, he has a great shot to be a contender. See who else to pick here

on

The West African Football Union Zone B Women’s Football Administrators Workshop is currently underway in Abuja. This workshop brings together officials from across the region.

The three-day event, supported by the Confederation of African Football, began on April 26 and will continue through April 28.

The workshop focuses on improving how the women’s game is managed and organised across WAFU-B nations. Discussions will be centred on sharing ideas, how to strengthen administrative structures, and practical ways to grow the sport.

The meeting also allows participating countries to align their plans and work more closely together, with the aim of developing women’s football across the region in a more coordinated way.

Participants are expected to give a clear action plan before the workshop concludes on April 28, which should outline steps to be followed after the event.

Man City can use Premier League handicap to their advantage

Manchester City will have to play catch-up to Arsenal in the next fortnight but there are advantages to be gained in other ways

Manchester City would rather not have a good chunk of this week off. The best teams in Europe are duking it out in the semi-finals of the Champions League and Pep Guardiola and his players will likely spend at least some time wishing they were in it.

They are not though and, for reasons partly connected, they don’t have a game at all this week. Despite having played a game fewer than Arsenal, the Blues will have to sit and watch their Premier League title rivals host Fulham this weekend before they get a chance to go to Everton on Monday night.

It is very possible that City will kick off at the Hill Dickinson Stadium sitting six points off top spot in what will be a test of their mettle to not get fazed by their two games in hand. Everton are pushing to qualify for Europe next season, which will not make things any easier for Guardiola’s side.

Aside from the fact that Everton’s home record this season isn’t brilliant though, one thing that hasn’t really been mentioned is that it really isn’t far away from the Etihad. Even if it ends up slightly further from Goodison, it will still be about an hour on the team bus to get there.

At the end of next week, City host Brentford on Saturday. That is a fortnight where the players will have been able to go wherever they want in the world on their days off, and then do the bare minimum of travel for two matches; if the Crystal Palace game is rearranged to go before Bournemouth away, that fortnight becomes the best part of three weeks that City players will barely need to go anywhere to close in on their goal.

There is obviously pressure in the title race and that increases given City are playing catch-up. Assuming Arsenal do not stumble in front, it is an enormous ask to expect the players to be perfect in those circumstances.

They will at least, however, basically have as much rest as they could have. Everyone in the squad should be able to be at their fittest and that increases the prospects of Guardiola being able to get more out of his best XI than he might otherwise – especially if City were still involved in the Champions League.

Wembley is Wembley and the trip to Bournemouth is complicated for a number of reasons. Before that though, even if City would rather be playing more games in the next two weeks they have the chance to get in the best possible shape for the final few matches – and that could decide the title.

Major Name Drops Blockbuster WWE tease; Swerve Strickland & Cody Rhodes Involved

Published

on

The competition between WWE and AEW is fierce. Both companies have been thriving, but many believe that the Tony Khan-led promotion has been delivering better weekly shows and pay-per-views. World Wrestling Entertainment recently held WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Meanwhile, All Elite Wrestling is preparing to host Double or Nothing 2026 in Queens, New York, next month.

Former AEW star Cody Rhodes is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion. He successfully defended his gold against Randy Orton in the main event of WrestleMania 42, night 1. The American Nightmare was under All Elite Wrestling’s banner from 2019 to 2022. Interestingly, former NXT North American Champion Swerve Strickland joined the Jacksonville-based company the same year Cody left. The New Flavor has become one of Tony Khan’s most trusted names. Furthermore, he has held the AEW World Championship once.

American actor, rapper, and songwriter O’Shea Jackson Jr. is friends with both Cody and Swerve. Recent reports suggest that SmackDown will return to 2 hours in a few weeks. After this news came out, the Straight Outta Compton star took to X and said he had an idea to ‘save’ the weekly show.

O’Shea revealed that he has only told his idea to the New Flavor. Furthermore, he wrote that he is willing to tell it to Cody and the Rich Eisen Show’s T.J. Jefferson.

“What if I told you I have an idea to save smackdown and the only person I’ve told this to was @swerveconfident lmaoo The only other people who can know are @toojiggy and @CodyRhodes,” he wrote.

AEW president Tony Khan praises WWE star Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has opened up about his AEW departure in several interviews. He admits that there is bad blood between him and the Jacksonville-based company. However, he also says that there is mutual respect.

In a recent interview with Q101, Tony Khan said that he mostly listens to the positive things the American Nightmare has to say. He even praised him for his contribution to All Elite Wrestling.

“I’ve seen him since he’s been gone. It’s always been very positive and good. I have only good things to say about him and his contributions here,” said Khan. [H/T: Fightful]

Only time will tell what the future holds for the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion. Hopefully, he will rejoin AEW someday.
