Related: Senator Mitch McConnell, 83, Hospitalized With ‘Flu-Like Symptoms’

Senator Mitch McConnell’s office is updating on the public on the politician’s health after the shocking death of fellow Senator Lindsey Graham.
“My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages,” McConnell, 84, said in a written statement shared via his office on Sunday, July 12. “But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.”
The senator, who has been hospitalized since June 14, continued in the written statement, “In fact, with signs of continued progress, I’ve been able to move from hospital care to a rehabilitation center where I’ll keep regaining my strength.”
After the politician was found unconscious in his home, he was transferred to a local hospital, where he has reportedly been reportedly “working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery,” per his spokesperson, Stephanie Penn.
Still, conspiracy theories and calls for transparency have dominated the internet as McConnell has continued to miss voting sessions.
Laura Loomer, a right-wing activist and close ally of President Donald Trump, has been outspoken about McConnell’s health in the midst of his hospitalization. The known conspiracy theorist claimed the senator was brain dead amid his hospitalization, alleging she received the information from a “high-level source close to the White House.”

“Senator McConnell appreciates the outpouring of support he’s receiving while he continues his recovery in the hospital,” McConnell’s office said in a statement to Us Weekly on July 7, debunking claims the senator was incapacitated. “The Senator continues to improve, and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session.”
In his Sunday health update, McConnell acknowledge that he has been missing from the Senate floor for some time.
“You’re right to expect your representatives to work hard for you,” the statement read in part. “And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work. But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do.
McConnell’s health update comes in the wake of Graham’s shocking death at age 71 on Saturday, July 11. After his office confirmed his death on Sunday, authorities released a preliminary cause of death, saying the politician died of aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.”
An aortic dissection is also referred to as an aorta rupture, per the Mayo Clinic, which can occur when arteries harden over time.
Director Christopher Nolan is loved around the world for his mind-bending movies. The fan-favorite director is the creator behind some of the most beloved features, like the war drama Dunkirk, the sci-fi epic Interstellar, and the mind-bending thriller Memento. This year, Nolan brings his long-gestating historical epic, The Odyssey.
Headlined by frequent collaborator and first-time leading man Matt Damon, the movie will trace Odysseus’ decade-long perilous journey back home. The ensemble is full of Nolan’s staples, like Dark Knight star Anne Hathaway as Odysseus’ wife Penelope, Tenet’s Robert Pattinson as Antinous, and Oppenheimer’s Benny Safdie as Greek King Agamemnon. Further, the cast has new names we’d love to see again in a Nolan film, like Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and Mia Goth.
With The Odyssey, Nolan is touching the historical genre, and he’ll certainly bring his own touch to the age-old tale. Fans can expect massive set pieces, real locations, IMAX cinematography, and a killer background score from Hans Zimmer. While there has been some criticism of the trailer about the historical inaccuracies and casting, the narrative and scope of the feature will certainly make up for it. But as fans wait for The Odyssey, they are flocking to see another masterpiece by Nolan.
The movie in question is sci-fi action thriller Inception. Led by Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional thief who steals information by infiltrating the subconscious of his targets. Things take a turn when he’s offered a chance to have his criminal history erased. He assembles a team to implant another person’s idea into a target’s subconscious. Inception is currently in 9th place on HBO Max’s Global top 10 list, as per FlixPatrol. It stands tall among newer features like Lee Corrin’s The Mummy, horror slasher They Will Kill You, beloved animated classics like Despicable Me and Shrek Forever After, and Ben Affleck’s The Accountant franchise.
Like The Odyssey, Inception also has a stellar ensemble that includes Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Elliot Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Dileep Rao, and Michael Caine. The 87% Rotten Tomatoes-scored movie proved a box office success, earning $839 million.
Inception is streaming on HBO Max. The Odyssey will set sail on July 17. Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.

After re-teaming with Radio Silence and surviving the latest game with Samara Weaving in Ready or Not 2, modern scream queen Kathryn Newton is about to head to Thailand for her next bone-chilling feature. She’ll trade running from killer families on the grounds of the Danforth complex for delving into The Devil’s Mouth, a remote cave system that’s just as wondrous as it is terrifying. Premiering later this month on Prime Video, the film casts her as one of five friends embarking on a magical final summer adventure that soon becomes anything but. Ahead of its arrival, Collider can exclusively share a new poster highlighting the survivors and the threat wading into the titular cave’s flooded twists and turns alongside them.
The promo piece centers on the Devil’s Mouth itself, which shows exactly why it got its name with an entrance that looks like a set of jaws opening up to devour any foolish enough to enter. Those hapless victims include Newton, who’s front and center alongside To All the Boys franchise star Lana Condor, followed by their friends, played by Nico Hiraga, Gavin Casalegno, and Tommi Rose, and their guide for the expedition, Tayme Thapthimthong. Despite wearing headlamps, however, they seem completely unaware of the danger lurking just ahead of them. The Devil’s Mouth is a classic shark survival thriller, but instead of being out in the open water, the group is trapped in the narrow, winding confines of the cave with the apex predator and nobody coming to save them.
A week before the friends began their guided swim into the caves of Thailand, a major storm caused massive flooding that sent all manner of sea creatures into the fresh waters of the cave, where they soon died. It gives the Devil’s Mouth an eerie vibe as they venture in and makes it all the more terrifying when they find a shark somehow surviving what should be an inhospitable environment. Silent, deadly, and hungry, it’s ready for them at every wrong turn or slip that sends them plummeting into its domain. The film follows along as the group starts to get disoriented within the dark corridors and begins tearing itself apart as reason gives way to basic survival instincts and sacrifice becomes their only hope of escape.
The Devil’s Mouth snapped up an experienced horror maestro in Jeff Wadlow to direct from a script by Little Fish‘s Aja Gabel and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew writer Myung Joh Wesner. Wadlow most recently helmed the Blumhouse flick Imaginary, but he’s perhaps best known for his work on 2018’s Truth or Dare and the superhero comedy sequel Kick-Ass 2. Joining him as producers are two veteran John Wick producers, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, who are attached through their Thunder Road Films banner. As the cherry on top, Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary, known for everything from series like Outlander to video game giants like God of War, composed the score.
The Devil’s Mouth premieres on Prime Video on July 29. Check out the new poster above.
When Kris Humphries walked away from the media frenzy surrounding his short-lived marriage to Kim Kardashian, he also walked away from the celebrity lifestyle that came with it.
Instead of chasing endorsements, reality television, or another moment in the spotlight, the former NBA star quietly returned to Minnesota with a different ambition.
More than a decade later, Humphries has reinvented himself as a businessman, proving his biggest post-divorce success story has unfolded far from Hollywood cameras.
Unlike many celebrities whose careers are built around staying visible, Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband intentionally disappeared.
After retiring from the NBA, he settled back in his home state of Minnesota, choosing family life and business over the entertainment industry that once followed his every move.
That fresh start eventually led him into the restaurant business. In 2022, Humphries and his family became franchise partners with Dave’s Hot Chicken, bringing the rapidly growing brand to Minnesota.
Announcing the venture on Instagram, the former NBA star shared his excitement with followers, writing per the Daily Mail, “Super excited to bring @daveshotchicken to Minnesota with my family. This is the best chicken ever! Get ready Minnesota.”
The first location was only the beginning. According to Downtown Voices, the Humphries family has secured plans to develop 18 Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurants across Minnesota, turning what started as a single investment into a long-term business strategy.
His cousin, Alex, revealed that Minneapolis’ North Loop perfectly matched the brand’s identity. “The mix of historic preservation and modern innovation in the North Loop creates a unique atmosphere that we believe is ideal for Dave’s Hot Chicken,” he explained.
With its colorful artwork, modern design, and popular menu, the restaurants are a far cry from the reality TV headlines that once defined Humphries’ public image.
Although Humphries has largely disappeared from the celebrity spotlight, he hasn’t disappeared from social media.
Instead of documenting glamorous events or personal milestones, his Instagram now showcases his growing restaurant business.
He frequently shares videos of food creators visiting Dave’s Hot Chicken locations, samples menu favorites himself, and gives followers a behind-the-scenes look at the expanding franchise.
In a 2023 post, Humphries sat down at a table loaded with chicken and sides before declaring, “It’s Go Time Baby!”

Long before Humphries quietly reinvented himself as a successful businessman, he was at the center of one of Hollywood’s most talked-about celebrity romances.
Kim Kardashian and the 41-year-old began dating in late 2010 after being introduced through mutual friends, and their relationship quickly moved at a whirlwind pace.
Humphries proposed in May 2011 with a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring, and the couple married three months later in a lavish Montecito, California, ceremony that was televised in the E! special “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding.”
However, the fairy-tale ending never materialized. Just 72 days after saying “I do,” Kardashian filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and later admitted she realized during their honeymoon that the marriage wasn’t right.
Humphries initially sought an annulment on grounds of fraud, but after a lengthy legal battle, the pair reached a settlement in 2013.

Years after their whirlwind romance ended, Humphries finally opened up about the relationship that had forever changed his public image, insisting it was never about fame or publicity.
In a 2019 candid essay for The Players’ Tribune, the former NBA star admitted he “never wanted to be famous” and struggled with the intense attention that followed his marriage to the socialite.
“I was definitely naive about how much my life was going to change,” Humphries wrote, adding that the biggest misconception was the belief that their romance had been staged.
“There’s definitely a lot about that world that is not entirely real. But our actual relationship was 100 percent real,” he shared.
Humphries also described the breakup as “brutal,” explaining that the public scrutiny left him anxious and reluctant to leave his home.
Looking back, he said all he ever wanted was to be known for basketball, not for being “That Guy from TV.”
Tracestin Shepherd has now clarified the timing of a pool party image that is being speculated as part of Nolan Xavier Wells‘ last moments, and says Ben Crump is taking advantage of the late teen’s parents.
On Monday, July 13, ABC News published an exclusive interview with Tracestin Shepherd, reportedly conducted on Sunday, July 12. In the interview, Shepherd initially reiterated statements he had previously made to Rolling Stone. This, clarifying footage taken on Horn Island on July 4. Additionally, in this interview, however, Shepherd supported the claim that Wells chose to stay on the island when his friends were leaving. This, allegedly, because he had met a girl.
Additionally, Shepherd, who is also Black, alleged that his and Wells’ friend group was “very diverse.” And he said that no one would want to harm the 18-year-old.
“We would die for him. We would do everything in our power for that guy. If he needed anything, we would do it,” he said.
Specifically, Shepherd addressed “misinformation” connected to suspicion around Wells’ friends having his phone when his body was found. He explained that it was very common for teens to leave their phones in boats while on Horn Island.
“All our friends are out there. Who are we communicating with?… When Nolan got in the water, he put his phone on the [boat] dash also with probably 15 other phones,” he said.
Additionally, Shepherd addressed a now-viral photo, which is being speculated as part of Nolan Xavier Wells’ final moments. As The Shade Room previously reported, the photo surfaced over the weekend. And it appears to show Wells standing in a pool surrounded by other teens. The image was initially shared on Instagram and captioned, “Summer ’26.” Subsequently, it was reposted by Attorney Ben Crump alongside a caption that read:
“Repost from @shanneltarottv :(Nolan Wells investigation update: The streets are talking! Now listen, I don’t know if these are facts or rumors because no official statements have been confirmed. We sometimes have to follow all clues until the truth is found. Here is what was discovered on social media last night. Social media allegations claim a photo exists of Nolan at a land-based pool party in Jackson County before 1:00 AM on July 5th”
However, Shepherd says the photo was actually taken on June 27 “in nearby Pass Christian, Mississippi.”
As the interview went on, Tracestin Shepherd shifted his focus to Attorney Crump. Per the outlet, he is “upset by the suggestion from Crump that race may have played a role in Wells’ death.” Furthermore, he says, he and his friends have now “become targets.”
“They’re trying to spin a narrative that’s not there. He’s wrong,” Shepherd said before adding. “I understand [Wells’] parents are grieving, and I really think he’s taken a little bit of advantage of that. And I don’t like that. I really don’t because they’re vulnerable.”
Ultimately, Shepherd explained that he wants everyone to “relax” and “mourn the loss of Nolan.”
“And let us remember him as the sweet guy he was and not something we’re scared of because of the trauma we’ve had. If Ben Crump is doing his own investigation, let him do it. And then let the sheriff’s office conclude with their investigation and figure out what the facts are on their end. Let us all just know the truth instead of jumping to two conclusions about things,” he said.
Shepherd reiterated that everyone loved Wells and “nobody wanted to see Nolan die.”
“Nobody wanted his life taken so short. He had everything going for him,” he said.
Tracestin Shepherd’s clarity on the viral pool image comes after he recently spoke on another piece of content. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, footage surfaced, apparently taken on Horn Island on July 4. Furthermore, it appeared to capture an argument on the island.
The footage was reposted by Ben Crump. Then, he alleged Wells was involved in an argument on the island, per The Shade Room. However, Wells’ best friend has come forward, saying it’s unclear whether he was involved or present during the viral argument clip. Additionally, most recently, Tracestin Shepherd explained that the viral argument clip featured his voice, as he was the teen yelling and involved in the on-camera altercation.

Summer can be a tricky time of year to get dressed. On one hand, you want to be cool, but on the other, you don’t want to resort to tank tops every day. Instead of leaving your arms exposed, opt for a smart shirt style that offers the best of both worlds: a flowy blouse with three-quarter sleeves. It’s ideal for the hotter months, adding coverage while still remaining loose and breathable.
To ensure you have plenty of options to pair with shorts, trousers and skirts, we turned to Walmart. For those who aren’t big fans of their upper arms, these breezy tops have longer sleeves, which also make them look more elevated. Whether you’re dressing for work, date night or casual days, these summer-ready styles are no-fail options.
1. Our Favorite: This gorgeous, flowy floral blouse just might be our new favorite for the summer. It has an asymmetrical hemline and sleeves, and the pink, green and purple hues bring a fresh vibe.
2. Pretty Polka-Dots: Meet your new go-to work top! This pick comes in seven colors and features a clustered polka-dot pattern, plus elastic cuffs that let you push up the sleeves for a more relaxed look.

4. Playful Patterns: You have your choice of colorful, fun patterns with this elbow-length blouse. The tassel tie detail adds a little something extra, whether you let them hang down or knot them into a bow.
5. Real Ruffles: It’s all about the sleeves on this flowy V-neck pick. Not only are they airy, but they have layered ruffles to add more body to your look.
6. Upgraded Tee: A T-shirt is great, but a tee with elbow-length sleeves, buttons and texture is even better. The flattering silhouette adds a bit more interest to basic pairings and will especially be appreciated on hot, humid days.
7. Plus-Size Pick: Available in sizes large to 5XL, this three-quarter-sleeve top is relaxed without taking away shape. It comes in solid colors and patterns, so you can stock up for summer.
8. Bell Babe: This lightweight, bohemian-inspired blouse feels like the top equivalent of bell bottoms. It would pair well with a more fitted bottom to balance it out — white jeans, anyone?
9. Cute Crinkles: This simple three-quarter-sleeve top is made more special with the hem and sleeves, which feature a crinkled, ruffled texture. Not bad for an option that’s $7, right?

11. Darling Denim: You can’t go wrong with denim, and this flowy V-neck shirt gives off the look while still remaining breathable. It’s available in other ‘washes,’ too, including another blue, pink and red.

Eva Marcille isn’t here for the sudden bashing of “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks. During her appearance on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Marcille, who won season 3 of the hit reality TV series, said she’ll always defend Banks against critics. Her declaration comes amid Banks’ bombshell lawsuit against Netflix after the streaming giant released a documentary about the rise and fall of the competition series and the controversies that came of it.
Coming to Tyra Banks’ defense: Eva Marcille! #WWHL pic.twitter.com/JwzRrpgRU8
— Watch What Happens Live! (@BravoWWHL) July 13, 2026
While playing one of Cohen’s messy clubhouse games, Marcille, who also appeared in earlier seasons of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” was asked to say three nice things about Banks. “Tyra is always fierce, she was always right, and she’s always on top,” Marcille said confidently.
When she was asked to share her thoughts on Netflix’s documentary “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” Marcille said there wouldn’t be enough time to discuss the “shady” production in detail.
And if it wasn’t already clear, Marcille reiterated her loyalty to Banks, saying she is “pro Tyra,” before slamming the docuseries as “biased” and unbalanced. The former “Real Housewives” star also said that she wasn’t asked to participate in the project because producers knew her account would contradict the story they wanted to tell.
According to Netflix’s Tudum, Banks and other influential figures associated with “America’s Next Top Model,” including co-creator Ken Mok and judges Jay Manuel, Jay Alexander, and Nigel Barker, participated in a Netflix docuseries about the series’ rise and fall.
Throughout the episodes, producers interviewed key players, including former contestants, about the show’s history and many of the problematic stunts that have since generated much backlash.
In the trailer, Banks appeared to acknowledge that things on the set of “America’s Next Top Model” spun out of control, saying, “I knew I went too far. It was very, very intense, but you guys were demanding it, so we kept pushing it, more and more and more.”
The production touched on sensitive topics, including racism and colorism, homophobia, sexual assault, and body image.

Marcille’s defense of Banks on “WWHL” isn’t the first time the 41-year-old has pledged her support to the former Victoria’s Secret model. In early 2026, Marcille appeared on “CBS Mornings” and discussed some of the gut-wrenching moments from the three-part series, including the cast member who opened up about being sexually assaulted on set.
Although Banks has reportedly apologized for what occurred, Marcille acknowledged that it’s up to the victim to accept it when they’re ready. “… there is no sorry, I think, that’s big enough to truly feel and heal that kind of hurt,” Marcille said.
However, Marcille, who has become arguably one of the biggest stars from the series, went on to thank Banks for what she did for her career.
“What Tyra set out to do in this business, I will always say, and especially for Top Model, initially, she set out to change the world, to change what the modeling industry looked like, sounded like and expected. And she did that for me,” said the mother of three.

Months after the Netflix documentary became available to stream, Banks sued the streamer, alleging that her interview was edited to paint her in a negative light and to fuel a false narrative.
“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America’s Next Top Model (‘ANTM’) because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy—its successes and its shortcomings,” a portion of the lawsuit states. “There are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability, and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly.”
According to Banks, Netflix used only 16 minutes of her three-hour interview in the documentary and allegedly edited out crucial facts about the show to help construct a negative storyline.
“Viewers of a documentary do not expect manufactured drama or constructed narratives. They expect facts. Because they were promised a documentary, that is exactly how viewers interacted with the Netflix Series,” the lawsuit said.

Rachel Bennett, a law specialist, addressed the lawsuit after it made headlines and said that for Banks to win, she must prove that Netflix heavily edited her interview to manufacture claims that are “objectively not true.”
Bennett explained that in unscripted television, producers have creative freedom to shape a story as they see fit, as long as it’s not “completely false.”
So, does Banks have a fighting chance? The world is waiting to find out.
Marvel Studios has officially unveiled a new piece of concept art for Avengers: Doomsday, offering fans their clearest look yet at the enormous roster expected to collide in the highly anticipated crossover event.
The artwork places Doctor Doom front and center, reinforcing Robert Downey Jr.’s role as the film’s primary antagonist. Surrounding the iconic villain are heroes from nearly every corner of the Marvel Universe, including Thor, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, the Fantastic Four, and several classic X-Men.
Among the most notable inclusions are Cyclops, Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, and Gambit, signaling that Marvel is fully embracing the X-Men’s arrival into the MCU. The Fantastic Four are also prominently featured with Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, while Sam Wilson is shown soaring overhead as Captain America.
Avengers: Doomsday Concept art [credit: Marvel Studios]
The concept art also highlights members of the New Avengers, including Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, U.S. Agent, and Bob Reynolds (Sentry). Ant-Man and Shang-Chi also appear, further emphasizing just how expansive the cast has become.
While concept art should never be taken as confirmation of a film’s final story or lineup, it offers an exciting glimpse into the scale Marvel Studios appears to be aiming for. The image suggests that Avengers: Doomsday will unite the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men against Doctor Doom in what could become the biggest ensemble film in MCU history.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, with the Russo Brothers returning to direct the blockbuster event.
Chile! Dame Dash and Jay-Z have once again found themselves at the center of hip-hop conversations, but this time, it came with a twist that only the internet could create. The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder had fans doing a double-take after sharing an AI-generated clip that imagined a reunion with Jay-Z during one of his Yankee Stadium performances. While the moment wasn’t real, the fictional link-up had social media buzzing about one of hip-hop’s most talked-about relationships.
Dame Dash recently shared an AI-generated video on his Instagram page that showed Jay-Z performing at Yankee Stadium before inviting Dash onstage for a fictional surprise reunion. The clip showed the two former business partners embracing in front of a cheering crowd, creating the type of full-circle moment many fans have wondered about over the years. However, the video quickly took a comedic turn when an AI-generated SWAT team appeared to rush the stage and “arrest” Dash over child support payments — a scene that never actually happened.
Folks ran straight to Dame Dash’s Instagram comment section and had an absolute field day after he shared the AI-generated clip. Some were convinced the video proved Dame secretly wanted to be at Jay-Z’s concert, while others joked that AI is officially getting way out of hand. A few even crowned the post funnier than a Kevin Hart comedy special, turning the comments into a roast session of their own.
One Instagram user @frogg_1986 claimed, “He really wanted to be at Yankee stadium 😂😂😂😂😂he is dreaming”
This Instagram user @officialveganmob wrote, “Man I almost thought this was real. Man what’s wrong wit you dawg? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”
And, Instagram user @d3dd3h added, “😂😂😂😂 i got way too happy and disappointed in 10 seconds😫😫😫🌚🌚🌚🌚”
Meanwhile, Instagram user @vaughnbrathwaite joked, “I knew it was fake based on how good the teef looked”
While Instagram user @billboardbaby said, “Bruhhhhhh😩😩😩😩😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂 u play alll dayyyy longggg”
Finally, Instagram user @k_defff commented “Funnier than a Kevin Hart standup😂😂”
Dame Dash’s post arrived just weeks after he shut down speculation that he would reunite with Jay-Z during the rapper’s anniversary concerts. In a viral interview with ‘The Art of Dialogue,’ Dash made it clear he had no plans to make a surprise appearance, making the AI-generated reunion all the more ironic. “I’m not coming out there with you either. Don’t call me. So, don’t think Dame is going to do a surprise. I’m not. I’m not getting on that dusty stage,” he revealed. The clip also playfully referenced the pair’s long-running fallout following the breakup of Roc-A-Fella Records, a relationship that has remained strained for years.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z recently packed out Yankee Stadium for his 30th anniversary concert series, celebrating his legendary catalog with a parade of surprise guests. Over the course of the shows, he brought out Beyoncé, Eminem, Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, and more, giving fans the kind of star-studded moments only Hov could deliver.
What Do You Think Roomies?
Disney is the most impactful and popular media company of all time and one of the biggest companies in America. They’ve been around making movies since even the early days of 1928, and in the numerous movies that they’ve released since then, there are far more amazing ones than not. It’s incredible how great their batting average has consistently been.
Whether they’re produced by Walt Disney Animation or in partnership with Pixar, almost every movie put out under the Disney brand has been one for the ages. The company hasn’t gotten a reputation like this with simply alright movies, though. Almost every animated project they’ve made has, at the very least, been pretty dang good from the ground up. There are many that can be considered pretty much perfect from start to finish, too.
There are plenty of Disney movies that are considered absolute classics, and one of those is none other than Mulan. Disney has been known for taking old fairy tales and making them kid-friendly and animated. Mulan is originally based on a poem from somewhere between the 5th and 6th centuries.
Disney takes this story and turns it into a musical—one that is inspiring, beloved, and enjoyable all around. Not to mention, it adds characters like a talking dragon, Mushu (Eddie Murphy), and, in general, makes the story a bit more lighthearted. It’s hard not to love this 1998 animated film, and from start to finish, it is an extremely memorable project.
One of Disney’s more recent hits is the family-driven film Encanto. Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, this project focuses on family dynamics through the lens of the lesser-appreciated Mirabel Madrigal (Stephanie Beatriz)—the only powerless person in a family filled with people who have extraordinary abilities.
Encanto has extremely raw emotions and messaging behind it, as almost everyone can relate to it. Familial struggles are tough, and this film manages to capture said struggles with grace and love. With a pure-hearted message about generational trauma, this one is unforgettable. Not to mention, the music is spectacular.
2016 was a genuinely phenomenal year for Disney films. They had two absolute smash hits this year, and one of them is the one and only Moana. Typical princess romance and sap are absent from this flick, which allows the movie to focus on the character arcs. Said arcs are unbelievably well-written and executed with prowess.
Moana features some of the best animation Disney has ever put on the screen. It’s hard to describe what exactly it is about Moana‘s animation that is so phenomenal, but it’s undeniable. Just as importantly, the music in Moana is some of the best in modern Disney, thanks to the works of Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Bolt is a movie unlike any other. Some would even argue that it’s incredibly underrated in comparison to other 2000s and even 2010s Disney films—as well as animated films as a whole. Bolt is very character-driven, focusing on the development of the protagonists and their journey, rather than spectacle.
The comedy in this project is very well-written, and the voice actors behind all of these characters give such great performances that they sell the humor even more. They also allow the protagonists to truly come to life on screen better than they could if they’d been played by anyone else. Bolt is unforgettable and needs more recognition.
If there’s a Disney film that has gone down in history as the best of the best, it’s the likes of 2016’s Zootopia. Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, and the rest of the cast make this screenplay shine. The screenplay, written by Jared Bush and Phil Johnston, delivers a thought-provoking, important, and meaningful story that has gone down in history as one of the best they’ve ever put out.
Zootopia brings forth a project that genuinely changed the lives of many, and, alongside Moana (releasing the same year), helped put Disney back on the map (as if they’d ever left). Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are excellently written protagonists who are super memorable, and unlike any of the others.
With the really rough live-action remake having just come out, audiences find themselves looking back on the original Lilo & Stitch from 2002. The viewers who grew up on this movie hold it in very high regard for its gorgeous animation, love for Elvis Presley, heartwarming story about family, and its incredibly lovable characters.
The iconic quote, “Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten,” describes the message of the movie perfectly, and the message describes why this movie is so special. It is so iconic to this very day, and it is the best example of why Disney needs to stop making live-action remakes. Sure, the new one may have made a lot of money, but it acts as a total antithesis to the original, which means it’s a far better decision to watch this film instead—a movie whose quality is consistent throughout the entire runtime.
A Goofy Movie is, to this day, one of the most iconic Disney flicks and is still celebrated. The movie even recently had its 30th anniversary, which Disney made a huge deal about, going as far as to ship online personalities some promo boxes. The Disney social media pages also posted about it a ton. This is because this goofy film’s heart, soul, and hilarity make it something worth watching to the very end.
When Max (Jason Marsden) is forced to go on a road trip with his “embarrassing” father, Goofy (Bill Farmer), he stresses about a girl he has a crush on, unsure if he can live up to a promise he made to her. It’s a wonderful coming-of-age tale that never loses its charm even for a second, and that makes it something truly worth remembering.
It’s more than clear that Toy Story created a franchise that is incredibly popular. Toy Story is the very first fully computer-generated movie ever made, which makes it monumental for the film industry. That alone couldn’t have made it as popular as it is today, though. A lot of its fame comes from the quality.
Not only does it have a great reputation in media history, but it also tells one of the most emotionally compelling Disney/Pixar stories of all time. It also, in general, is a genuinely very unique and original idea that immediately hooks whoever is watching it. The character arcs between Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) are exceptionally well-written.
It’s commonly agreed upon that no animated movie makes audiences cry as early in the runtime as Up. The opening of this movie depicts the love life of Carl Fredricksen (Edward Asner) and his wife, Ellie Fredricksen (Elie Docter). While it starts happily as can be, it quickly becomes absurdly heartbreaking as Ellie unfortunately passes away from sickness, leaving Carl alone and angry.
However, when he finally accomplishes his goal of making his house fly so he can bring his house all the way to a place in South America called Paradise Falls, he finds a stowaway named Russell (Jordan Nagai). This young scout and old man go on an adventure together that gets them into all sorts of trouble and turns the heartbreak at the beginning of the movie into a beautifully heartwarming ending.
When asked about the greatest Disney animated films of all time, most people have Aladdin come to their minds within the group. There’s a certain charm about Aladdin that makes it unforgettable. Everyone loves an underdog story, and there are few that live up to the likes of Aladdin.
The young and down-on-his-luck Aladdin (Scott Weinger) must go on a journey with a magical Genie (Robin Williams) to put a stop to the evil Jafar’s (Jonathan Freeman) plans and protect Princess Jasmine (Linda Larkin). It’s a story about how one doesn’t need to be special or powerful to make a change and be a hero, and that appealed very well to audiences, who want to see the underdog take home a win.
Spider-Man fans of all ages have had so much to look forward to in 2026. Back in May, Nicolas Cage got his chance to be a live-action web-slinger in the pulpy Spider-Noir, playing washed-up detective Ben Reilly in a gritty version of 1930s New York where he’s the only superhero. This month will also finally see Tom Holland return to the big screen with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, pitting him against a mysterious new threat while his own powers run haywire. For the little ones, though, today was the date to circle with the premiere of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends Season 5 on Disney Jr. and Disney+. The hit series is officially back in action with its new “Rescue Webs” storyline, combining Spider-Man with firetrucks to save the day in a premiere marked by a particularly slippery new villain.
To celebrate the premiere, Collider is excited to share a new sneak peek at the first episode, titled “Lights, Sirens, Action/Symbie’s Slimy Scheme. As the name suggests, the second half of the new adventure will see Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Spin swing into action to stop the adorable yet mischievous Symbie from using his slime machine to ruin the city with a flood of slime. Our footage sees Gwen calling Peter to reveal she and Miles have learned where the shape-shifting symbiote baby is preparing his dastardly plans. As Spidey races to the Slime Factory with the Rescue-Webs Firetruck, his pals leap in to shut down Symbie’s machine before it fills up and slimes the playground. However, they aren’t ready for him to be so tricky, taking the power button with him and hopping from one portal to another to evade their grasp. Team Spidey will have to think of something quickly, with the tank continuing to rise by the second and the fate of the city at hand.
Symbie will be a recurring fixture in the new season of Spidey and His Amazing Friends, causing chaos and generally being “a little scamp,” according to executive producer Harrison Wilcox. Marvel and Disney+ have also gone all-out to give him a massive introduction to the series. For Comic Book Giveaway Day, they released Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends #1 CGD 2026 from one of Season 5’s staff writers, Danielle Kreger, and, on July 8, Marvel Comics debuted It’s Symbie #1, compiling all the little guy’s appearances across the page so far to promote his on-screen arrival. The character’s Slime Factory also became the focus for a new playset from Hasbro at Walmart, and Fall Out Boy‘s Patrick Stump even made his latest single for the series, “Meet Symbie,” all about him.
While Marvel is clearly excited for everyone to meet Symbie, there is much else to look forward to from Spidey and His Amazing Friends Season 5. In the first half of the premiere, Team Spidey’s Firetruck is stolen by the supervillain Zola, who quickly learns that being a hero isn’t as easy as he thinks. That’s just the beginning of a wide variety of new problems Peter, Miles, and Gwen will have to work together to solve, and lessons for the trio to learn. Some familiar faces from across the Marvel universe will also pay their first visit to the city to help Peter out, like Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Mr. Fantastic, voiced by none other than Mario Lopez. It’s shaping up to be a jam-packed season, and better yet, it won’t be the last, as the series was secured for a sixth season last month.
The Spidey and His Amazing Friends Season 5 premiere is out now on Disney+. Check out our exclusive sneak peek in the player above.
