Pep Guardiola was today seen wearing his wedding ring amid rumours that the Manchester City boss has split from his wife of 30 years.

The Spaniard is currently in London, with his team set to lock horns with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

On Monday, reports from Spain claimed that Guardiola had split from his wife, Cristina Serra, after 30 years together.

It was claimed that five years of living apart had taken a toll on the couple, with Guardiola residing in Manchester while Cristina works in Barcelona.

And it was also said that the pair remained on good terms, despite their apparent separation.

However, there has now been a twist with Guardiola spotted wearing his wedding ring while arriving at a hotel in London on Tuesday.

Neither the 53-year-old or City are yet to respond to the speculation over his personal life.

But the rumours have ignited at a time when the reigning Premier League champions have struggled for consistency.

City are currently sixth in the Premier League table, having won just 50 per cent of their matches so far.

They are two points behind Chelsea in the race for Champions League football, while Liverpool are 12 points clear of City at the top of the league table.

City have also struggled in the Champions League, having won two of their six games in that competition.

And they were sent crashing out of the Carabao Cup by Tottenham in October after a 2-1 defeat in north London.

City do, however, appear to be turning a corner.

They have won their last three matches against Leicester City, West Ham United and Salford City respectively.

But Guardiola expects a tough match against Brentford, who have caused his side plenty of problems in recent years.

“Of course, we won three games. Before it was impossible to win one and now we won three. That helps us,” he said.

“The mood is better. We have an enormously difficult game. Thomas and his team always create a lot of problems. They are a fantastic, fantastic team.”

On Brentford, and Thomas Frank, he added: “[They have had a] long, long time with Thomas Frank. In set pieces and high pressing, they are so aggressive.
