25 Movies To Watch if You Love ‘Gladiator’

Published

on

Matt Damon and Zendaya in The Odyssey

Winning Best Picture at the Oscars in 2000, enduring as a classic over 20 years later, and having a sequel that was released in 2024, it’s safe to say that Gladiator is a much-loved film. It’s proven to be one of the most popular films within Ridley Scott‘s vast body of work and tells a gripping revenge story that’s well-paced, emotionally resonant, filled with exciting action, and complemented by strong visuals, performances, and music.

Even if the film had never gotten a sequel, there are still plenty of other action-packed historical movies out there that scratch a similar itch. The following are some of the best of these and are essentially required viewing for fans of Gladiator who want to see other titles with comparable stories, equally exciting action, or deal with characters seeking revenge in the distant past.

As far as historical spectacle in cinema goes, no film has surpassed Gladiator in terms of grandeur and gravitas since it was released in 2000, but has that just changed? A typically enormous achievement from modern blockbuster maestro Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey brings Homer’s epic poem to life in ravishing detail as it follows Odysseus (Matt Damon) and his men in their arduous voyage back to Ithaca after Greece’s victory in the Trojan War.

Just as Gladiator thrives as a stunning realization of Ancient Rome, The Odyssey immerses viewers in the wonder of Ancient Greece, not only through the palpable authenticity of its fantasy elements, but through the quality, scope, and detail of the production as well. Furthermore, with both movies focusing on battle-hardened heroes seeking to emerge triumphant over overwhelming odds, including political threats from traitorous cowards, The Odyssey holds a similar emotional pull as Gladiator even as it tells a very different story. —Ryan Heffernan

‘Spartacus’ (1960)

Gladiator isn’t similar enough to Spartacus to call it a remake by any means, but of all the old-school Hollywood epics from the 1950s and 60s, Spartacus is probably the one Gladiator took the most inspiration from. It’s a huge movie that runs for more than three hours, being set in the first century B.C. and telling the story of Spartacus, a man sold into slavery and forced into gladiatorial combat, only to break free of his captors and inspire a rebellion with his fellow slaves that will allow them to get revenge on those who sold and enslaved them.

With its large-scale narrative about an uprising, it doesn’t spend as much time in the arena as Gladiator. However, it’s still an aspect of it, and the revenge sought by the title character is another point of comparison. The behind-the-scenes story of Spartacus is also interesting and dramatic, from its writing to its production, with Stanley Kubrick ultimately being its director, despite the final product not exactly feeling like a Kubrick film.

Russell Crowe was one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, leading not only Gladiator but other noteworthy titles like L.A. Confidential, A Beautiful Mind, and Cinderella Man. One of his best movies of the era comes in the form of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, another gem of historical cinema that combines its loose basis on Patrick O’Brien’s “Aubrey-Maturin” novel series with a stunning realization of naval life during the Napoleonic Wars.

Crowe stars as Jack Aubrey, the captain of the HMS Surprise who bullishly leads his crew in pursuit of a powerful French vessel sailing around the coast of South America, even as they face insurmountable obstacles in their voyage. Complimented by Peter Weir’s outstanding direction, the seafaring epic juggles monumental scope with intimate drama with aplomb, making for an underrated highlight of Crowe’s career as a leading man and a somewhat forgotten gem of historical drama at large. —Ryan Heffernan

There are certainly better movies in the world, but for those who adore the visceral grit and grandeur of Gladiator’s combat sequences, Ironclad is a rewarding dose of swords-and-sandals action. Very loosely based on true events, it unfolds as a small group of barons holds the strategic point of Rochester Castle in defiance of King John (Paul Giamatti), who has gathered a Danish army as he tries to restore his absolute authority and break the vow he made when he signed the Magna Carta.

Ironclad is a procession of grim and bloody violence and knightly stoicism broken up by the evil sneering of Giamatti’s King John, but there is a charm to that. It flaunts a romanticized morality of valor and bravery to a fault, but given it is supported by an ensemble cast that includes James Purefoy, Brian Cox, Charles Dance, and Derek Jacobi as well as Giamatti, it is an easily indulged romp of historical action. —Ryan Heffernan

‘Seven Samurai’ (1954)

Image via Toho

In many respects, Seven Samurai is the true pioneer of the brand of historical epic cinema that Gladiator exists within, along with many other classic titles of the past 70 years. Directed by Akira Kurosawa, the Japanese picture unfolds over a monumental yet ceaselessly enrapturing 202-minute runtime, with Kurosawa using everything from immaculate, inspired cinematography to poignant character beats, natural elements like rain and wind, and intense and realistic combat that was decades ahead of its time to create what is one of the greatest triumphs in cinematic history.

Its spectacle and its emotionally-rousing story work in tandem, with Seven Samurai following seven warriors who agree to help a poor farming village defend their homes from a vicious bandit gang terrorizing their region. While it is stirring, it also invests heavily in the complex cultural issues that sparked rifts between samurai and peasants, imbuing the movie with a dramatic punch that complements its astonishing scale perfectly. With both its marvelous scope and its grounded vigor, Seven Samurai is the perfect classic movie for anyone who loves Gladiator. —Ryan Heffernan

‘Ran’ (1985)

Another Kurosawa masterpiece, Ran presents one of the most visually astonishing historical epics of all time with its vibrant array of colors, stunning natural beauty, and Kurosawa’s trademark perfection with shot composition and blocking. Inspired by William Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” it unfolds as an aging warlord divides his kingdom between his three sons so they can each rule. When his middle son defies the order he is granted, war erupts within the kingdom as the dynasty crumbles.

Ran’s historical setting, breathtaking ambition, and mesmerizing battle sequences make it an essential watch for all who love Gladiator. While it may not center on one character as Gladiator does with Maximus, Ran also explores such ideas as power, betrayal, and political ambition with an enormity and craft that is nothing short of masterful. —Ryan Heffernan

‘The Northman’ (2022)

An adaptation of the story that inspired Shakespeare’s Hamlet, The Northman is another great example of a revenge story with plenty of action and a historical setting. It takes place over 1000 years ago and tells the story of a prince who seeks to murder his uncle for killing his father and taking his mother as a prisoner.

It’s an incredibly down-and-dirty movie, with its violence and grittiness giving it a certain amount of intensity and (probable) realism. Its grim story and gruesome action sequences might make it a hard sell for some, but for others, it’s certain to excite and entertain, with it representing another success within the filmography of Robert Eggers.

Admittedly, The Last Samurai isn’t set nearly as far back as Gladiator, though it takes place in the late 19th century at a pivotal point in Japanese history. It follows an American man hired to educate the Japanese army about more modern weaponry, though he comes to appreciate their samurai culture and eventually endeavors to join their ranks.

This leads to plenty of conflicts and, eventually, warfare, with the action present throughout The Last Samurai being remarkably visceral and exciting to watch. It’s one of the best samurai-themed films not in Japanese and is another film showing how reliable Tom Cruise is as an action star.

‘Kingdom of Heaven’ (2005)

Crusaders in Kingdom of Heaven

The story behind Kingdom of Heaven‘s release is an unfortunate one. Despite the success of Gladiator just five years earlier, Ridley Scott’s vision for Kingdom of Heaven was compromised during post-production, with an inferior theatrical cut of the film being released to cinemas that ultimately failed to make a big enough splash at the box office.

Thankfully, a director’s cut was eventually released, with the 45 minutes of additional footage making the film’s epic story about Holy War conflicts during the Crusades easier to follow and more compelling. Its director’s cut isn’t far off Gladiator quality-wise, serving as another Ridley Scott historical epic with plenty of stunning visuals, impressive special effects, and satisfying action.

‘Braveheart’ (1995)

Mel Gibson standing with a large group of men cheering before going to fight in Braveheart Image Via Paramount

Large-scale historical epics haven’t exactly been in fashion in recent years, but two to three decades ago, they were pretty popular. As mentioned before, Gladiator won Best Picture in 2000, and five years before that, Braveheart did the same, being a success at the Academy Awards while also resonating with audiences worldwide.

Braveheart begins as a personal revenge story about William Wallace, a Scottish warrior who got vengeance for his murdered wife before inspiring a large-scale rebellion against English forces in Scotland over 700 years ago. It’s particularly brutal when it comes to its violence and also has a lengthy runtime of almost three hours, but it mostly works well as a satisfying and bombastic historical drama/action/revenge movie.

Glenn Hughes Retirement Follows Heart Surgery Scare

Glenn Hughes Retirement Follows Heart Surgery Scare

For more than five decades, Glenn Hughes has built a reputation as one of rock music’s most enduring voices, surviving changing eras, legendary collaborations, and life on the road.

Now, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is bringing one chapter of that journey to a close. After receiving devastating medical news, the Deep Purple bassist and vocalist has announced his retirement from touring, revealing that another open-heart surgery has left him with little choice but to step away from live performances.

Glenn Hughes delivered the emotional announcement on Tuesday in a message shared on Instagram, confirming that his touring career has come to an indefinite halt after doctors uncovered a serious medical issue requiring immediate attention.

The 74-year-old revealed that extensive testing led to the difficult decision, explaining that “The results from numerous MRIs, CT scans, and an echocardiogram have alerted my medical team, that I need another open-heart surgery.”

Accepting the reality of the situation, he added, “I really have no option and no choice as health is my number one priority.”

Hughes also disclosed that the diagnosis followed a year of ongoing health struggles that have gradually taken their toll.

While acknowledging the painful decision to leave the road behind, the veteran musician reflected on the career that has defined his life, writing, “I am grateful to have been chosen with a life full with the gift of music,” before thanking supporters with the heartfelt message, “Thank you for walking beside me.”

Fans Flood Hughes With Prayers Following Health Announcement

Glenn Hughes’ announcement prompted an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom shared heartfelt messages as they wished the rock legend a speedy recovery.

One supporter wrote, “Nothing but love & respect for you Glenn. You been an inspiration (musically and spiritually) to me for years. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers my friend. May God bless you.”

Another urged the singer to focus on his recovery, commenting, “My dear brother, Health is your main priority.. we are here praying tor you and sending the most healing vibes.”

A third fan reflected on Hughes’ impact, writing, “Sending love and hugs. I’m grateful to have crossed paths with you and I thank you for all the inspiration! Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery.”

Others continued to send words of encouragement, with one saying, “God bless ya Papa Glenn! The music world and its fans love and support you for life and beyond, love you brother!!”

Glenn Hughes Leaves Behind One Of Rock’s Most Accomplished Careers

Hughes’ retirement marks a significant moment for classic rock, ending an era for a performer whose influence stretches far beyond a single band.

Inspired early on by The Beatles, Britain’s hard rock movement, and the unmistakable sound of Motown, he forged a musical identity that blended soul, funk, and hard rock into a style that became uniquely his own.

His breakthrough came with Trapeze before he joined Deep Purple in 1973 alongside David Coverdale.

The lineup produced three landmark records in quick succession, “Burn” and “Stormbringer” in 1974, followed by “Come Taste the Band” in 1975, before the group eventually split the following year.

Recognition for that body of work arrived decades later when the 74-year-old and his Deep Purple bandmates were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, cementing their place among rock’s most influential acts.

Hughes Stayed On The Road Until His Health Changed Everything

Despite quietly battling health issues, Glenn Hughes remained remarkably active throughout 2025.

He released his solo album “Chosen” in September and promoted the record with music videos for the title track as well as “Voice In My Head” and “Into The Fade.”

He also spent much of the year performing across Europe and South America, opening the tour in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, on September 2 before closing the run in Bogotá, Colombia, on November 29.

His latest live appearance came on May 30 at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois, where he joined The Dead Daisies under the banner The Purple Daisies for a set featuring Deep Purple classics alongside other material.

Looking back, there were already signs that his health was beginning to reshape his plans. In January 2026, Hughes canceled his planned U.S. spring tour, The Chosen Years, citing health concerns.

The concerts were expected to celebrate music from every stage of his career, including Deep Purple, Trapeze, Hughes/Thrall, Iommi/Hughes, and Black Country Communion.

Glenn Hughes’ Health Update Echoes Mick Jagger’s Heart Surgery Comeback

Hughes’s heartbreaking announcement reminded fans  of another legendary rock frontman who faced a similar health setback and emerged stronger.

In 2019, Mick Jagger postponed the Rolling Stones’ North American No Filter tour after doctors determined he needed treatment for a heart valve condition.

The singer subsequently underwent a heart valve replacement procedure in New York and was expected to make a full recovery, with his representatives later confirming the surgery had been successful.

Just weeks later, Jagger took to X to reassure supporters that he was “feeling much better now and on the mend” while thanking fans and hospital staff for their support.

His recovery proved remarkably swift, as he returned to rehearsals within weeks before taking the stage again when the Rolling Stones resumed their postponed tour that summer.

Grays? Shedding? This New Serum Reverses Both

Grays? Shedding? This New Serum Reverses Both

Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!

There’s a funny thing that happens as we get older: our hair doesn’t seem to pick just one problem. The grays start multiplying, your ponytail doesn’t feel quite as thick as it used to and suddenly your bathroom cabinet is overflowing with root touch-up sprays, volumizing products and hair-growth treatments. Luckily, there’s a breakthrough new serum that does the work of all three, making your hair routine a whole lot simpler.

Meet K18’s FutureIQ Biomimetic Hair Longevity Serum, the brand’s newest launch that’s taking aim at hair aging from every angle. The nightly treatment isn’t just another product that temporarily hides grays or makes hair look fuller for the day. Instead, K18 says it works beneath the surface to help reduce shedding, reverse graying and support a healthier scalp — with users seeing up to 19,000 more hairs for more volume after three months of nightly use.

So what makes it different from the countless products already crowding your bathroom counter? Rather than acting like another quick fix, this serum is designed to target oxidative stress, which K18 identifies as one of the biggest drivers of premature hair aging. Powered by the brand’s proprietary MultiVital technology, the formula combines biomimetic peptides, a root anchoring complex and an antioxidant system to help support follicle health, melanin production and the scalp barrier — all with one nightly application.

If K18 sounds familiar, that’s because the brand already has a pretty impressive track record. Its bestselling Molecular Repair Hair Mask became a beauty-world favorite for helping revive damaged hair, and FutureIQ builds on that same biomimetic science. This time, though, the focus isn’t repairing yesterday’s damage — it’s helping address tomorrow’s hair concerns before they become even harder to ignore through what the brand calls a systems-biology approach.

Of course, this isn’t the kind of product you use once and expect a miracle. K18 says the serum is designed to deliver its biggest payoff with consistent nightly use, with 100% of participants showing reduced hair fall after one month. By the end of three months, the brand says 70% showed fewer grays, while users also saw up to 19,000 more hairs for more volume.

If your hair routine has quietly turned into a lineup of root touch-up sprays, thickening products and growth serums, K18’s FutureIQ Serum may be worth a closer look. Yes, the $120 price tag is a splurge, but if it means swapping a shelf full of temporary fixes for one multitasking nightly treatment, it’s easy to see the appeal. And honestly, freeing up a little bathroom counter space doesn’t sound too bad, either.

Amanda Frances Confirms RHOBH Exit After 1 Season

Amanda Frances has confirmed her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ahead of season 16.

“My time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is complete,” Frances, 40, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, August 5. “Saying yes to this show was one of the boldest, wildest, most clarifying things I’ve ever done. And I am genuinely grateful — grateful for the experience. The women. The viewers who saw me, rooted for me, challenged me, quoted me, misunderstood me, defended me, found my work, bought my books, or simply watched me try to explain metaphysics in a room full of diamonds and side-eyes.”

She added, “It was a ministry, honestly.”

The Rich as F***: More Money Than You Know What to Do With author and financial adviser joined the Bravo series for season 15, along with fellow newbie Rachel Zoe and “friend of the Housewives” Natalie Swanston Fuller. Amanda’s single season on RHOBH was an eventful one as she opened up about her background in a cult and feuded with costar Bozoma Saint John over their business track records. (TMZ was the first to report the news of Amanda’s RHOBH departure.)

This week on Getting Real With the Housewives, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Bozoma Saint John gets candid on newcomer Amanda Frances’ past cult experience. “This one was such a strange one for me,” Bozoma, 49, tells Us Weekly. “I grew up in an evangelical Christian church as well, so I know a lot […]

“I came into this experience with an already-full life. And right now, that life is asking for all of me,” she explained in Wednesday’s statement.

Amanda stressed that she will be focusing on the launch her new book Holy F***: God Wants You to Have It All*, in which she is expected to share more about her experiences with a religious cult. Amanda and her longtime partner, Eddie Tsivislavsky, will also host a wedding reception in October after secretly tying the knot in Laguna Hills, California, in late 2025.

“While this show gave me an incredible platform — a platform is not the same thing as a foundation. And of the greatest gifts of the experience was seeing just how strong my foundation actually is,” she wrote. “Listen: Every room has something to teach you. Some rooms expand you. Some challenge you. Some misunderstand you. Some show you parts of yourself you couldn’t have seen anywhere else. And some remind you who you already are.”

She concluded, “Beverly Hills, thank you. I am taking the clarity, the lessons, the plot twists, the spiritual warfare, and the occasional deeply unnecessary dinner party drama into all that God has for me next. And to anyone watching, please know: Your next move does not require anyone’s approval. Your evolution does not need a permission slip. And you can be grateful for an opportunity and know when it’s time to leave. And obviously… Say it with me: I win in the end.”

Brittany Cartwright Shares How She Discovered Jax’s Romance

Published

Brittany Cartwright revealed how she discovered that her estranged husband Jax Taylor is dating her former publicist Lori Krebs.

“[Lori] sent me a text message, morning of [the release of photos of her and Jax vacationing in Mexico], two hours before the TMZ photos came out and let me know that things had changed and that she knows I will feel betrayed,” Brittany, 37, told a visibly stunned Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Wednesday, August 5. “[Lori said] she loves me and [Brittany and Jax’s son, Cruz] and she’s never told Jax anything. Come on.”

Us obtained photographs of Jax, 47, and Lori on vacation at Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for the Vanderpump Rules alum’s birthday in July. A source speaking exclusively to Us described an intimate scene as Jax and Lori allegedly cuddled in a resort pool.

“They had their arms wrapped around each other and looked very close,” an eyewitness told Us. “It seemed obvious that they were very much together.”

Related: Brittany Cartwright Breaks Silence on Jax Taylor’s Romance With Lori Krebs

Brittany Cartwright is speaking up about Jax Taylor’s romance with their once-shared publicist, Lori Krebs. Chatting to Zack Wickham on the Friday, July 17 episode of her “When Reality Hits” podcast, Brittany, 37, vowed to share how she really felt about it all when the time was right. “All I’m going to say about this […]

However, a separate source exclusively told Us on Wednesday that the public perception of Lori’s personal and professional ties to both Jax and Brittany is not accurate.

“Lori understands why Brittany feels betrayed. But the narrative that they were still ‘like family’ when this all happened isn’t accurate,” the source told Us. “Brittany and Lori haven’t been close in a very long time. Their relationship had changed significantly. They saw each other only a couple of times in the past year, never spoke outside of work, and Lori’s role had been reduced primarily to coordinating media interviews. She had already been trying to transition away from representing Brittany because she increasingly felt caught in the middle of an extremely difficult situation.”

The source pointed out, “Throughout Jax’s addiction and recovery, Lori supported both of them in different ways. As Jax made progress and focused on rebuilding his life, the professional and personal dynamics shifted. None of that changes the fact that Lori understands Brittany’s hurt, but the picture being painted of their relationship at the time isn’t an accurate one.”

Jax responded to Brittany’s WWHL appearance in the Instagram comment section for the show, accusing his estranged wife of telling “blatant lies.”

During her sitdown with Andy, 58, Brittany opened up about the betrayal she felt over a formerly close confidant dating Jax. (Jax and Brittany separated in February 2024 and initiated divorce proceedings that August. They have yet to reach a settlement.)

Lori’s attorney, Michael Kernan, told People this week that it “is inaccurate to suggest that my client engaged in an unethical dual representation” and that she has not represented Jax “for well over a year.”

Brittany shared her own timeline during her interview with Andy on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday.

“She was still my publicist,” Brittany said. “She was still getting a retainer from me. She was still making 10% of things for me. She was still my friend — family, basically. I had just invited her to a 4th of July cookout at my house.”

She went on, “Now, she’s trying to say we haven’t been friends for a year and a half? … [Lori] was here [at WWHL] the last time I was here, Andy. That was in April. The lies are insane, to try to flip the image and make them look better. It’s never going to look better.”

“I expect it from Jax. I don’t care if Jax dates someone. Move on. Leave me alone,” Brittany added. “It’s what she did! She was my family member, the person I went to whenever I was being abused in that relationship.”

Jax’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has denied Cartwright’s claims of abuse.

Later in the segment, Brittany claimed that her only communication with Jax since the scandal erupted is when he “harasses [her] on our parenting app constantly.”

“He just kinda fights with himself on there,” she joked. “It’s really bad.”

Asked by Andy whether Lori and Jax are still “seeing each other,” Brittany replied, “I guess! He just recently missed his time with his son because he was in Canada [with her].”

Us has reached out to representatives for Lori and Jax for comment.

Earlier on Wednesday, Brittany spoke to People about the “complete, complete betrayal” she felt from someone who was “like a sister to me for 10 years.”

“She knows every in and out of everything in my life and still chose to sleep with the enemy, basically,” Brittany alleged.

Meanwhile, Jax seemingly confirmed his relationship with Lori last week, after a fan suggested that he should be the next Bachelor.

“No thanks I am taken,” he replied to the Instagram commenter.

In light of the controversy, Brittany has publicly received support from former Vanderpump Rules costars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute in recent days.

“I feel so bad for Brittany,” Stassi, 38, shared on the Friday, July 31, episode of the “It Girl” podcast. “I am eating this all up the same way I’m eating up the Summer House drama. It’s so believable because he’s a horrible person, but like, that publicist? I always knew she was bad news. I always knew it. Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, are still going strong as ever!

The duo recently marked a major milestone by celebrating the first anniversary of their wedding vow renewal. However, Brooklyn’s heartfelt message seemed to shade his parents, with whom he has been at odds.

Brooklyn’s post came months after he seemingly ignored a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute shared by his father, David Beckham.

Brooklyn posted a romantic update on Instagram to mark one year since renewing his wedding vows to Peltz. The pair initially tied the knot in April 2022 before renewing their commitment in August, 2025.

Commemorating the milestone, Brooklyn shared a heartfelt caption alongside images of himself and his wife. The caption read, “Happy anniversary Nicola,” before adding, “I can’t tell you how much I love you x you are my best friend, and I love you more than life itself xx.”

Brooklyn also added, “I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx. You are my absolute princess, and I promise to always protect you xx.”

As sweet as the heartfelt vow was, his promise to protect Peltz seemed to be a subtle attempt to shield her from the recent drama surrounding the Brooklyn family. His heartfelt gestures highlighted their united front amid ongoing distance between the couple and his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

Brooklyn’s post was a carousel showing the couple embracing, holding glasses of white wine, beside a golf cart. Another photo captured the couple embracing inside a cafe.

The social media posts drew festive comments, including heart emojis from their wedding performer DJ Fat Tony and warm wishes from Brooklyn’s godfather, David Furnish.

He took to social media to share a photo of a bouquet of white roses he presented to Peltz to honor their milestone.

Attached to the flowers was a personal card that read, “Happy 4-year anniversary, baby x I love you with all my heart x,” per People Magazine.

While his marriage remains a source of mutual support, Brooklyn’s public decisions continue to generate tension with his parents.

About two months after his anniversary celebrations, he sparked widespread debate by starring in a high-profile promotional campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

As reported by The Blast, in the advert, Brooklyn smiled at the camera while sitting at home with a match playing in the background.

“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s a long story,” he said.

The promotional clip concluded with the message “more soon,” prompting speculation that additional advertisements referencing his personal life could follow.

This drew severe online backlash and reportedly caused deep distress to his parents, as critics accused him of capitalizing on their high-profile estrangement.

Brooklyn Beckham’s Controversial Ad May Have Been A Bad PR Move

In addition to negative reactions from social media users, industry specialists warn that the controversial advertisement could severely damage Brooklyn’s commercial appeal.

According to The Blast, Andy Barr, Head of Brand Communications at Season One Comms, said, “This could well be the beginning of the end for Brand Brooklyn.”

He noted that potential corporate partners will likely hesitate before collaborating with Brooklyn in the future.

Echoing these concerns, Sean O’Meara, managing director of Essential Content, labeled the marketing campaign a PR “disasterclass”. He strongly criticized the decision to profit from personal friction, calling it “cheap,” and said that such public digs make him appear “petty” and proud.

Following the backlash surrounding his commercial project, the personal distance between Brooklyn and his family seemed to widen even further during Father’s Day.

David published a throwback picture from Brooklyn’s childhood alongside a group photo of all four of his children.

In the caption, David wrote that being a father is his “most important job,” and publicly expressed his love to them all, as reported by The Blast.

Many followers interpreted the warm gesture as a clear effort to bridge the gap between himself and Brooklyn. However, despite his father’s public outreach, Brooklyn offered no visible reply.

Andy Cohen’s New Boyfriend Is A ‘Real Housewives’ Novice

Published

on

Andy Cohen seen attending the 92nd St Y this afternoon to moderate a talk about All My Children at 55 Years ago

Andy Cohen sees his boyfriend’s ignorance about his favorite franchise as bliss!

The media personality revealed that his romantic partner is not a fan of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” shows, and he has no single bone to pick about that absolute green flag in his books.

Andy Cohen and his boyfriend Kevin Sobieski began dating after meeting at a July 4th party last year in what could be described as a love-at-first-glance situation that has waxed stronger nearly a year later.

The Bravo executive gladly shared that his new romantic partner has no clue about the “Real Housewives” universe, and he wants things to remain that way. During his appearance on TODAY, Cohen explained that Sobieski has never seen an episode of the franchise despite his involvement in the show.

Cohen joked that Sobieski’s social media has been working overtime to educate and expose him to the world of Bravo. In his words: “His algorithm is feeding him Housewives-related things 1786015980 because our phones listen to everything we say, so he’s starting to get a sense of the universe, but he has no clue.”

Cohen reassured the interviewers that he has no reservations about his boyfriend’s lifestyle, because at the end of the day, he loves him and his two children. As shared by US Weekly, the Bravo executive added that with time, Sobieski will get to that point where he would understand the workings of the franchise.

The Bravo Executive Hard Launched His Romance With Kevin Sobieski On Instagram

Over a year after their first meeting in 2025, Cohen flaunted a picture of himself and the businessman on Instagram as they headed out for a quick bite. The Blast shared that the media personality and his partner looked in love and very fashionable as their friends and well wishes showered them with lovely comments.

Lots of cast members from “Real Housewives” raved about the happiness Cohen and Sobieski radiated as they stepped out for date night. In June, Cohen revisited the moment he met his boyfriend at a gay party in Hampton; one of the rare times he attended one.

He recalled seeing him from across the room, engaging him in a lengthy conversation, exchanging contacts, and finding home in his arms about a year later. Cohen emphasized that since the relationship began, Sobieski has shown him what kindness, strength, and wit look like, which he wants around for a while.

Andy Cohen Took His Time Before Introducing His Businessman Boyfriend To His Children

The media personality does not speak in small measure about his love for his children and how significant they are in the grand scheme of things, including his choice of relationships. Cohen shared that he took his time to slowly familiarize Sobieski with his family, especially his children, who have over time built a close bond with the mogul.

He raved about his happiness to have found Sobieski and take him as a life partner, all while taking it all in behind the scenes before sharing that side of him with the world. Cohen had previously disclosed that his dating strategy took a dramatic switch since he became a father.

While he does not mind signing up on every dating app known to humanity, he confessed that he does have to deal with the problem of people constantly impersonating his identity. Becoming a dad, however, taught him to look beyond the surface and distinguish between physical attraction and someone he can genuinely build a life with.

During one of his appearances on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, he took the chance to clear up some rumors surrounding his work history with Bravo, especially when it came to dating colleagues or cast members from the franchise.

Cohen confessed that in some moments, he felt human and briefly considered the thought of dating someone from the network; he quickly recognized it would cause unnecessary complications given his status in the network.

As noted by The Blast, the media personality then revealed that getting into a relationship would mean his romantic partner would be a strong, independent, smart, and very employed handsome man.

He also addressed his very physical relationship with John Mayer and how they never shy away from showing each other affection, be it sitting on the same side of the booth, or having the rock singer wrap his arms around him.

Cohen expressed that the singer embodied some qualities he hoped to find in a gay guy, but for the meantime, he remained grateful for their gift of friendship.

Andy Cohen And Nene Leakes May Arrive At A Truce Following Her Bravo Return

NeNe Leakes

Leakes’ exit from the network a few years back was trailed by allegations of Bravo promoting a toxic workplace culture against her and failing to protect her from racism.

These claims have caused friction between Leakes and Cohen over the years, but all that may be set aside following reports that she will make a return to the “Real Housewives” franchise.

Cohen revealed in an interview that Leakes’ return was a sign that Bravo’s 20th anniversary will not feel the same without Leakes, who is one of its biggest stars. He insisted that the reality star’s lawsuit against Bravo was a closed chapter and honoring the show’s legacy without her involvement did not feel right.

Leakes was also on the same page, as she made it clear that despite her limited return, she remained open to burying the hatchet with Cohen, as time heals all wounds and resentment was pointless at this point.

The social media influencer, however, noted that a friendship may not come out of the reconciliation, but she will do her best to keep things positive.

Andy Cohen may have a Bravo guru brewing if that algorithm keeps feeding Kevin Sobieski the good stuff!

Tanya Reynolds Opens Up About Joining Ted Lasso

Tanya Reynolds Opens Up About Joining Ted Lasso

Tanya Reynolds says she felt intimidated joining “Ted Lasso” for its fourth season. At the same time, the actress admits those fears eased after the show’s established stars welcomed her without any Hollywood attitude.

Season 4 of the beloved Apple TV+ series shifts the story to Richmond’s new women’s team, which must build support while operating with fewer resources than the men’s side.

Tanya Reynolds admits stepping into the world of “Ted Lasso” was as intimidating as it was exciting. The “Sex Education” star joins Season 4 as Alice Chilton, assistant coach of AFC Richmond’s newly formed women’s team, the Lady Greyhounds, placing her alongside Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso and Brendan Hunt’s Coach Beard in one of the show’s biggest new storylines.

Reynolds told PEOPLE she battled imposter syndrome before filming because of the series’ massive fan following. “It was, obviously, really exciting, but also quite nerve-wracking to step into something that is so loved and adored,” she said.

That said, her nerves quickly eased once production began. Reynolds said she was “pleasantly surprised” by how welcoming the returning cast turned out to be, adding they were “nice and not really starry at all.”

Season 4 Centers on Richmond’s Women’s Team

The Lady Greyhounds may wear the Richmond badge, but they won’t enjoy the same advantages as the men’s squad. According to co-creator Brendan Hunt, AFC Richmond’s new women’s team begins its journey with a far leaner operation despite belonging to a Premier League club.

Speaking to TV Insider, Hunt explained that the team will train and play in different surroundings from the men’s side. Instead of calling Richmond’s main stadium home, the women will play where the men’s team trains. They will also work with their own budget, reflecting the financial realities of lower-division women’s football.

As The Blast reported, the challenge extends beyond the pitch. Hunt revealed that some Richmond supporters question whether launching the women’s side could divert money and attention away from the men’s team. That skepticism leaves the Lady Greyhounds fighting for acceptance in their own community while trying to build a competitive team from the ground up.

Tanya Reynolds Nearly Missed Her ‘Ted Lasso’ Break

In a separate interview, Reynolds spoke about how self-doubt nearly led her to give up hope before she was cast in “Ted Lasso.”

The actress revealed she nearly wrote off her audition after submitting a self-tape she thought “wasn’t very good,” only to receive a Zoom call from Jason Sudeikis days later with an unexpected offer to join the series.

Speaking to The Guardian, Reynolds admitted she hadn’t even watched “Ted Lasso” before landing the role, joking that she lives “under a rock.” She quickly binge-watched all three previous seasons and realized she wanted to be part of what the show had built.

Playing Alice Chilton also pushed Reynolds outside her comfort zone. She said portraying a tough, no-nonsense football coach felt unnatural because she’s nothing like the character in real life. “I am a cheese string,” she joked, explaining that Alice’s hard exterior is a defense mechanism.

Tanya Reynolds Says Sudeikis and Hunt Constantly Improvised

The one challenge Reynolds faced working alongside Sudeikis and Hunt was that she barely got to keep a straight face. In her interview, the English star said the pair constantly improvised during scenes, turning many takes into what she called an exercise in “Don’t laugh. Just don’t laugh.”

Away from the comedy, Reynolds said “Ted Lasso” arrived at the right moment in her life. She explained that she’s grown exhausted by television built around violence, especially stories involving violence against women. Instead, she was drawn to the series’ optimism, kindness and belief in communication.

“That’s the kind of telly I’m craving,” Reynolds said, describing the Apple TV+ comedy as the sort of uplifting escape she wants to watch right now.

Jason Sudeikis Explains Season 4 Return

On his part, Sudeikis says bringing “Ted Lasso” back only made sense once he found a story worth telling. After ending Season 3 with Ted’s return to Kansas City, the show’s co-creator said he never intended to revive the character simply because the series was successful.

“The story was told,” Sudeikis explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “I wasn’t going to have Ted uproot their life to justify the money truck.”

Season 4 marks the comedy’s return more than three years after its original finale. The new season comprises ten episodes, with fresh installments arriving weekly through October 7 as Ted takes on what Apple TV describes as his biggest coaching challenge yet.

Carmen Electra is sharing her honest reaction to her Wednesday, August 5, Nation’s Dumbest elimination.

“I mean, you know, listen, I was absent,” the former Baywatch star, 54, exclusively told Us on Tuesday, August 4 — just one day before she was eliminated from Fox’s new reality competition series.

According to the model, she was MIA for some of the classes testing contestants’ long-buried classroom knowledge, as well as some of the fast-paced physical challenges. Perhaps, those absences impacted her performance.

“It may have had to do with a little bit of a Scary Movie kind of situation,” she added. (Electra has a cameo in the upcoming movie after captivating audiences in the opening scene of the original Scary Movie, later returning for 2006’s Scary Movie 4.)

Electra was one of many celebs who signed on for the unique game show, for which the smartest celebrity graduates each episode. The goal is not to win a prize, but rather to avoid finishing last and take home “The Nation’s Dumbest” title.

“I was sad right and relieved at the same time but I had a feeling that people were really gonna miss me,” she revealed to Us. “I’m a sore loser, so I’m gonna give you all of that stuff, and then when I win, I’m like, ‘Hey!’ I’m jumping around.”

Electra admitted that while she had fun during her short-lived stint on the series, she was initially hesitant to partake in the show.

“School? Was not into it,” she told Us. “I was into my dance classes because I went to performing art school. I was in ballet and that stuff. It was fun for me, so I did really good, you know, and obviously sex ed,” the star added. “I got an A-plus in that one, but other than that, like it was a struggle.”

Fortunately, she was able to tap into her competitive nature, revealing to Us, “I grew up in a competitive family. My mom was a third-degree black belt in Jiu-Jitsu.”

“My dad was a black belt,” she said, sharing more about her upbringing. “I grew up in, you know, doing dance competitions, kind of like Dance Moms.” Electra noted, “I started doing that when I was 5 years old, and by the time I was 8, I had over 100 trophies.”

Electra said her appearance on Nation’s Dumbest certainly came with another bonus, as fans were able to see her in a relatable new light and enjoy her sense of humor.

“That’s why when I did the very first Scary Movie, it really made sense for me because that’s how I’ve always made people laugh at me,” she told Us. “That movie showed people that I have a good sense of humor, that I don’t take myself serious.”
