Chef Marilyn Cole has been a staple in the Crenshaw community for years, known for selling 99-cent soul food platters. Now, she says, two lawyers have cost her everything. And have âscammedâ her out of her business.
Now, The Shade RoomâsJustin Carter is stepping in to hear from Chef Cole as two California attorneys, Cierra Carter and Channing Smith, explained their side of the story.

LA Chef Marilyn Cole Says She Lost Everything In Business Deal
According to Chef Marilyn Cole, âone disaster after anotherâ left her in over her head financially with her business. Cierra Carter and Channing Smith stepped in to âhelp.â Cole reportedly told the lawyers she no longer wanted to handle the âadministrativeâ tasks of her business. In turn, the lawyers reportedly presented her with a âdeal memo.â The deal was reportedly made to cover her existing debt, bind Cole to licensing her âname, likeness, recipes, and potential trademarksâ to the lawyers, and create a 60/40 profit split between them.

In April, things hit the fan when customers began coming in, and Chef Cole was unaware of their prepaid orders.
âThey werenât letting me order. They took over the ordering⊠ordered the wrong stuff, and it was just frustrating, and then theyâre telling people Iâm an employee? I was embarrassed. I was humiliated, and I was mad,â Cole recalled to Carter.
By the end of the month, Cole requested a leave of absence to address her health and the stress from the ordeal. In turn, she received an email from Cierra Carter and Channing Smith in which they reportedly scolded her for her prior time away and alleged unrendered services.
More On The Business Deal
Ultimately, Cierra Carter and Channing Smith told Chef Marilyn Cole they would no longer use her name or likeness for the business.
âI was moved out⊠disrespected, and I didnât deserve that,â Cole told Carter.

Whew, Roommates! Blueface and Nevaeh Akira have the internet in a chokehold after clips from a recent livestream showed them getting into a disagreement. Nevaeh seemingly went OFF on Blue after he told her he wanted to pop out for a lunch date with two women.
Bluefaceâs Lunch Plan With Two Women Leaves Nevaeh Akira HEATED!
Okay, so BOOM! Now-viral clips floating around online show Nevaeh Akira pulling up to Bluefaceâs home and immediately letting him have it. One clip making rounds shows Nevaeh clocking Blue after he says he wanted to take two women who were chilling at his house out to lunch. Itâs unclear what happened before that moment, but Nevaeh wasnât rocking with the idea at all! She told Blue straight up that the girls needed to bounce, and heâs not taking anybody anywhere, especially when he doesnât even take her out. âNo send them off. They can go get lunch with they wigs and have a good time,â Nevaeh said. Blue then responds, âOkay, how about we go get lunch and you just wait here?â Nevaeh clapped right back saying âYou said what?â while Blue replies, âNever mind, never mind. Thatâs a bad idea!â
Bluefaceâs Mom Enters The Chat As Blueface Shows Off His New Friends
As of right now, thereâs not much on info on Blueâs new friends. However, a TikTok video seems to show the two women Nevaeh called out on a livestream. One of the women Blueface has reportedly been hanging out with goes by Ashley, while the other allegedly goes by Joanna. A clip also shows them on an Instagram livestream while chilling at the rapperâs house.
During the stream, Karlissa pops up in the comments trying to join in, but when Blue appears on camera, he starts joking, telling her to get out.
At this point, Bluefaceâs love life stays on a rollercoaster. If youâve been keeping up, you already know Blue and Nevaeh are expecting a son together. But now another woman, Rela Coleman, has stepped forward claiming that sheâs also carrying a child for him.
As The Shade Room previously reported, LiveBitez dropped clips of Rela talking about having âraw sexâ and showing off a positive pregnancy test. The photo of the test also asserted that her due date is December 29, 2026. In the clips, Rela also shared that she plans to keep the bay and hopes she will welcome a girl. Of course, Blue didnât let Relaâs claims slide. He seemingly responded to her after she said they hooked up on Easter back in April and pushed back on her pregnancy allegations.

âWelp, I guess the b****h pregnant, yâall. B***h said I n****d in her on Easter. B***h, that was two weeks ago. F**k is you? Fourteen days pregnant? I donât think it work like that,â he said at the time.
Blueface seemingly confirms he has ANOTHER baby on the way while responding to a girl he hooked up with two weeks ago who said he didnât pull out in time đźđ
The internet is doing what it does best againâspiraling, speculating, and comparing everything under the sun. All of this comes after news broke about a rare and deadly illness, Hantavirus, tied to a cruise ship outbreak. And, unfortunately, itâs already left multiple people dead and others infected. While the situation sounds straight out of a thriller, officials are stressing that whatâs unfolding on the cruise is not a repeat of COVID-19.
Officials Urge Calm As Cruise Outbreak Sparks Online Chaos
According to reports, health officials confirmed at least three deaths and several infections among passengers aboard the luxury cruise after the vessel became stranded off the coast of Cabo Verde. The ship, which departed from Ushuaia, Argentina, traveled through remote regions, including Antarctica. It is now headed toward the Canary Islands as investigators work to determine how the virus made its way on board. In case you didnât know, the illness is linked to rodent exposure, and in this case, possibly a strain known as the Andes virus.
Experts, however, are pushing back hard on the online panic. Despite the headlines, infectious disease specialists say this is not like COVID-19. Officials also pointed out that hantavirus does not spread easily in the general population and typically requires very close contact or specific exposure routes. Even in the rare case of person-to-person transmission, health officials say the overall public risk remains extremely low and contained. While scientists urge caution, monitoring, and facts over fear, the internet is already running wild with theories and hot takes that experts say are not helping the situation.

Georgia Keeps Close Watch On Cruise Returnees
While the hantavirus cruise ship outbreak continues to make global headlines, itâs Georgia thatâs already getting a closer look from health officials as they quietly monitor two residents who recently returned home after being onboard the MV Hondius. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), both individuals are currently in good health and showing no symptoms. But, they are still being followed under CDC guidance out of caution. The CDC has also stepped in, stating that the situation is being closely tracked alongside federal partners.
Furthermore, officials stress that the risk to the general public remains extremely low. Health experts, including NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, have echoed the need for calm, clear communication and science-based updates. While the cruise itself has been sanitized, and passengers are being advised to monitor their health, officials are making it clear not to panic.
Is there a major filmmaker of the last couple of decades who is synonymous with a franchise that they didn’t help create? A few come to mind. David Yates is known for his work in the Harry Potter series â he directed the final four films and all three Fantastic Beasts spin-offs â but he wasn’t involved at the beginning. Francis Lawrence has made the Hunger Games series his own, but the first film was directed by Gary Ross. Similarly, the Jason Bourne series would be inconceivable without Paul Greengrass‘ hand-held aesthetic, but the blockbuster action franchise’s first installment was directed by Doug Liman. His work on that movie changed the action genre forever and had a particular influence on the James Bond franchise.
You must remember that back then, the 007 series was perceived to have jumped the shark. Meanwhile, The Bourne Identity presented a more realistic version of international espionage. The Bond producers took note, and when the franchise was rebooted after Pierce Brosnan‘s tenure, it seemed to have more in common with the Bourne movies than its own predecessors. Daniel Craig‘s first Bond film, Casino Royale, borrowed the Bourne franchise’s emotional heft and grounded style. This continued throughout the course of Craig’s five-movie run.

01
You’re dropped into a dangerous situation with no warning. What do you need most from a partner? The first few seconds tell you everything about who belongs beside you.
02
You have to get somewhere dangerous, fast. How do you travel? How you get there is half the mission.
03
You’re pinned down and outnumbered. What does your ideal partner do? This is when you find out what someone is really made of.
04
The mission is paused. You have one evening to decompress. What does your partner suggest? Who someone is when the pressure drops is who they actually are.
05
How do you prefer your partner to communicate mid-mission? Good communication is the difference between partners and a liability.
06
Your enemy is powerful, well-resourced, and has the upper hand. How should your partner approach them? The approach to the enemy defines the partnership.
07
Things go badly wrong and you’re captured. What do you trust your partner to do? Who someone is when you need them most is the only thing that matters.
08
What does your ideal partner bring to the table that you couldn’t replace? A great partner fills the gap you didn’t know you had.

09
Every partnership has a cost. Which of these can you live with? No one comes without baggage. The question is whether you can carry it together.

10
It’s the final moment. Everything is on the line. What do you need from your partner right now? The last question is the most honest one.
Your Partner Has Been Assigned Your Perfect Partner IsâŠ
Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back â for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.
Rambo
Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics â he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable â one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.
James Bond
Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters â and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters â when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing â Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.
Indiana Jones
Advertisement
Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible â but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable â and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.
John McClane
Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema â a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.
Ethan Hunt
Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability â technically, physically, and intellectually â and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him â and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Matt Damon’s Blockbuster Has a Terrific Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes
The first movie made Matt Damon a star and was followed by Greengrass’ two sequels â The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Universal tried to create a spin-off series with Jeremy Renner at the center and Tony Gilroyat the helm, but audiences weren’t ready to accept a version of the franchise without Damon. And Damon wasn’t prepared to return without Greengrass. Eventually, the two agreed to make a fourth installment â Jason Bourne. While commercially successful, it wasn’t as acclaimed as its predecessors. The franchise, however, is still as popular as ever.
According to FlixPatrol, The Bourne Identity saw a surge in viewership this week, securing a spot on the global HBO Max chart. Released in 2002, the film grossed nearly $215 million worldwide against a reported budget of $60 million. It holds a “Certified Fresh” 84% critics’ score and a 93% audience score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Expertly blending genre formula with bursts of unexpected wit, The Bourne Identity is an action thriller that delivers â and then some.” Liman and Damon most recently collaborated on the 2024 Apple TV original film The Instigators. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
The Hunting Party brought season 2 to an end with a main character getting shot â before a surprise last-minute twist.
During the Thursday, May 7, episode of the hit NBC series, Bex (Melissa Roxburgh), Hassani (Patrick Sabongui) and Shane (Josh McKenzie) attempted to take down Lazarus (Kari Matchett) once they realized she was the one who blew up The Pit for her own reasons.
The showdown led to Bex getting shot and Lazarus trying to convince Shane to let her go. Luckily, Bex only got injured in the air and was able to help take Lazarus down. The trio was then left confused about whether they were still on assignment â only for Bex to get offered to be the boss of the operation.
As the potential person in charge of rounding up the inmates still at large, Bex was told that The Pit didnât just house criminals â they created them.
All good things must come to an end, even when it comes to TV. Over the years, many television stars have suddenly left their roles â while others have been cut from a series without much notice. Anna Faris announced in September 2020 that she was leaving CBSâ Mom after starring as the lead character [âŠ]
The Hunting Party, which premiered in 2025, is a crime procedural about investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers in the country. The twist? The criminals escaped from a top-secret prison thatâs not supposed to exist.

Roxburghâs character is an ex-FBI agent recruited to the task force due to her reputation as a profiler who caught the worldâs most dangerous serial killers. After a past connection with Oliver (Nick Wechsler), who was killed off at the beginning of season 2, viewers have focused all their attention on Bex and Shane.
âAs far as the characters go, I am always cheering for the history and the relationships where itâs like theyâve been through so much together,â Roxburgh, 33, previously told Us Weekly in February 2025. âIf they do build this love story and love triangle, Shane is safe and heâs very calm and cool waters. We have the bad boy who murdered someone and he had a reason. We have the person who didnât murder someone. Weâll see.â
âI do know [about them]. I was on set and I am a huge shipper of this,â Dallas, 47, gushed exclusively to Us in April after his guest appearance on the show. âI so want this to happen and I think it would be great.â

Dallas urged for the NBC series to lean into the âslow burnâ between Bex and Shane. Roxburgh couldnât help but agree, telling Us that âslow burns are greatâ when it comes to onscreen love stories.
âWhat keeps you there episode to episode is the killer and the height of whatâs going on and just the craziness of what these killers are doing,â she noted. âBut I think what sticks in your brain as you continue through the show is like, âBut will they or wonât they? Whatâs going on there? So I think everyone loves a will they or wonât they?’â
From there, Johnson said itâs time to show love to the people that are getting it right, even if theyâre not household names. He said the big names just arenât giving what they usually give so itâs time to show some new faces some love.
âWe have to look for the girls who are coming in and doing it, even if weâre like who is that? Or like I have to go look up this person because thatâs gonna be the next wave of the bomb and cool people of the style people [âŠ] the people that are getting it right.â Johnson added. âAnd not worry about the names because the names are not naming. And we have to let them not name and worry about some new people.âÂ

The trailer for the new post-apocalyptic movie The Dog Stars is a clear indicator that director Ridley Scottstill hasn’t lost his keen sense for visual storytelling â and it’s fitting that one of his favorite films trades an epic journey at the end of the world for one that takes place at the dawn of time. While on the red carpet for Alien: Romulus, he told Letterboxd what his top four favorite films are, and while he gave some predictable picks like 2001: A Space Odyssey, he threw one major curveball with Quest for Fire. A cult-classic caveman film by Jean-Jacques Annaud, Scott praised the work and it’s easy to see why, given its courage to remain a largely silent movie. Scott said, “A film that people don’t know is so clever and so brilliant â it’s fantastic.”
What Is ‘Quest for Fire’ About?
80,000 years ago, in the prehistoric age, the Ulam tribe is figuring out how to survive. Spending their days fighting off rival tribes and scrounging for food, things seem stable until their measly supply of fire goes out. No one in the tribe knows how to make fire, thinking it’s a finite resource, so the leader sends Naoh (Everett McGill), Amoukar (Ron Perlman), and Gaw (Nicholas Kadi) to explore the land to find fire.

Most of their journey consists of episodes of routine trials and tribulations until they encounter Ika (Rae Dawn Chong) â who they rescue from being kidnapped by another tribe â and she may be the key to finding the fire they desperately need. Quest for Fire exists somewhere in the middle of a series of cross-sections: it’s a story with barely any plot, a cast of characters we observe more than actually “learn” anything about, and a travelogue without the dryness of a nature documentary. It’s a record that relies entirely on empathy, asking you to look past the simplicity and witness what must have been true high drama for our ancient ancestors.
‘Quest for Fire’ Taps Into the Primal Need To Survive
It’s impossible not to immediately take note of how gorgeous the film is in its unvarnished capturing of so many wondrous natural landscapes. Filmed primarily in areas across Kenya and the Scottish Highlands, every location buries you in the harshness with which they crush our hairy protagonists, despite how vast each area is. The journey covers various types of terrain, from quicksand-filled bogs to snow-capped mountain ranges to overgrown savannahs, with the camera often pulled way up into the sky to emphasize how scrawny these individuals seem in the grand scheme of the dog-eat-dog world.
Since the film forgoes any semblance of “backstory” or complicated motivation, it leans more into the unforgiving harshness of the land and the improvised hardscrabble grit of the group, so that the audience will relate through the inherent drive to persevere against the cruelties of nature. Add in sprinkles of prehistoric-flavored action setpieces, like trying to evade sabertoothed tigers and appeasing wooly mammoths so that they stampede an enemy tribe, and it makes Quest for Fire function as high-class adventure silent cinema, thanks to its engaging cast.
‘Quest for Fire’s Cast Brilliantly Shows Evolving Social Skills
If the gnarly eye candy on display isn’t appealing enough for you, then the sociological inquisitiveness embodied by the actors provides the meat on the bone. The film spends a lot of its downtime simply watching these cave people as they communicate in their own language (created by A Clockwork Orange‘s author, Anthony Burgess), pick each other clean, combine verbalization with physical gestures in ways that make their way of life clear to us. It never cheats by giving us subtitles as to what the characters are actually saying, which encourages us to lean forward and pick up on the nuances of their physical behavior to decipher the social dynamics.
The film fulfills the need for a conventional story arc by showing how our protagonists gradually learn how to engage in more sophisticated interpersonal behavior that we modern day humans take for granted. For instance, our characters learn the hilarity of getting bonked on the head, the proper way to have missionary sex, and the wisdom of not carrying fire into a body of water â all making incremental steps toward a better functioning way of life.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Star Wars
You believe in the cause â in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.
You are drawn to the moral clarity of a universe where hope itself is a form of resistance.
You’d find your people in the Rebellion â a ragtag coalition of true believers held together by conviction more than resources.
Star Wars is fundamentally a story about ordinary people choosing to matter in an extraordinary conflict â and that is exactly your kind of story.
The Force may or may not be with you. But the will to use it for something larger than yourself certainly is.
Middle-earth
Lord of the Rings
You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination â and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

Middle-earth is a world of ancient wonder, deep friendship, and a darkness that only retreats when enough small acts of courage accumulate.
You would thrive here because you value the fellowship more than the glory â the road more than the arrival.
Tolkien’s universe rewards patience, loyalty, and the willingness to carry something heavy across a very long distance.
Those are not burdens to you. They are simply how you move through the world.
The Wizarding World
Harry Potter
You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments â they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

Westeros · The Known World
Game of Thrones
You see the world clearly â its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic â and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

Westeros is a world that rewards intelligence, adaptability, and the willingness to understand that every alliance is also a negotiation.
You would survive here â possibly thrive here â because you don’t confuse the world as it is with the world as you’d like it to be.
Game of Thrones is a story about what happens when the idealists and the realists collide. You are sharp enough to know which one lasts longer.
Winter always comes. You are already prepared.
The United Federation of Planets
Star Trek
You believe the future is worth building â that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.
Star Trek is a universe where the questions matter as much as the answers, and where encountering something utterly alien is cause for wonder rather than fear.
You would belong here because you are fundamentally optimistic about what intelligence and decency can achieve â while being honest about how hard that achievement is.
The Federation is the universe’s most ambitious thought experiment: what if we actually got better?
You don’t just hope that’s possible. You think it’s the only thing worth working toward.
In that vein, the cast should be commended for how they can effectively communicate a cohesive theme through their collective action. Even if they don’t have fully developed “personalities,” each character has enough distinct habits and tics that you find enjoyment in how their mentalities bump against each other. It’s fun to watch the main trio all be such “knuckle-draggers” in the beginning, and then gratifying to see how their intelligence has improved thanks to their experiences with the more advanced Ika and how their sense of social nicety improves.
The actors don’t so much give “performances” as they embody an entire sub-concept of humanity that is in flux in response to a world that demands that they not remain stagnant. That combination of grand visuals, anthropological examination of the limits of human intelligence, and marveling at the dangers of the wide world make it obvious why Ridley Scott would consider it such an important film to his cinematic sensibilities, and therefore why it must be seen in order to gain insight on Scott’s vision.

The White Lotus has faced a surprising amount of behind-the-scenes drama ranging from feuds to characters being recast.
The White Lotus, which premiered in 2021, focuses on the guests and employees at a fictional resort as they experience a slew of personal ups and downs while on vacation. The anthology series is also known for featuring a mysterious murder â or two â that is eventually revealed. Each season films at a new location, with the first taping in Hawaii, before venturing to Sicily and Thailand. Season 4 is currently being taped in France.
While many tune in for the star-studded cast, others are invested in the plot payoff. Creator Mike White has previously stood by his vision for the show regardless of the offscreen reaction.
âIt definitely gets under their skin. There was complaining about how thereâs no plot,â he said on an April 2025 episode of the official White Lotus podcast. âThat part I find weird. It never did. Part of me is just like âBro, this is the vibe. Iâm world-building.’â
âIf you donât want to go to bed with me, then get out of my bed. Iâm edging you! Enjoy the edging,â he quipped. âIf you donât want to be edged, then get out of my bed. Do you know what I mean? Donât be a bossy bottom.â
White continued: âGet the f**k out of my bed. Donât come home with me. Donât get naked in my bed. Get the f**k out of my bed. Obviously, something is going to happen.â
In addition to conversations about what is taking place on screen, the show faced a surprising amount of drama off screen. Keep scrolling for a full breakdown:

Mike White Vs. White Lotus Music Composer
In April 2025, composer CristĂłbal Tapia de Veer candidly addressed his decision not to return for season 4 after multiple creative differences with White. Tapia de Veer told The New York Times that arguments over the season 3 theme music â especially backlash over the lack of iconic âooh-loo-loo-loosâ in the intro â led to his departure.
âI texted the producer and I told him that it would be great to, at some point, give [the fans] the longer version with the ooh-loo-loo-loos, because people will explode if they realize that it was going there anyway,â Tapia de Veer told the outlet. âHe thought it was a good idea. But then Mike cut that â he wasnât happy about that.â
White who didnât offer a statement to The New York Times about the situation, allegedly wanted the soundtrack to be more background music. âA song that is more like something you would listen to in Ibiza, in some clubby place with a chill, sexy vibe,â Tapia de Veer claimed. âI mean, at that point, we already had our last fight forever, I think. So he was just saying no to anything.â
Tapia de Veer told The White Lotus team months in advance that he wasnât coming back.

âI didnât tell Mike for various reasons; I wanted to tell him just at the end for the shock and whatever,â he continued. âExcept I told the whole editorial team and music editor and producer and all that, but I didnât think that they were going to tell him. At some point he heard about that.â
White replied when he told The Hollywood Reporter that he didnât think Tapia de Veer ârespectedâ him, while slamming the âPR campaign about him leaving the show.â White claimed de Veer just âwants people to know that heâs edgy and dark.â
âHe says we feuded. I donât think I ever had a fight with him â except for maybe some emails,â White continued. âIt was basically me giving him notes. I donât think he liked to go through the process of getting notes from me, or wanting revisions, because he didnât respect me. I knew he wasnât a team player and that he wanted to do it his way.â
White referred to the composerâs tell-all interview by calling it a âbitch move.â

Falling Outs in Season 3

Jason Isaacs made headlines when he teased how friendships âwere lostâ between cast members.
âIt was like a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies but in a gilded cage,â Isaacs shared in an interview with Vulture in March 2025. âIt wasnât a holiday. Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost.â
The actor didnât name who was no longer on good terms.
âAll the things you would imagine with a group of people unanchored from their home lives on the other side of the world, in the intense pressure cooker of the working environment with eye-melting heat and insects and late nights,â he shared. âThey say in the show, âWhat happens in Thailand stays in Thailand.â But thereâs an off screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.â
The outlet offered Isaacs the chance to elaborate, which he laughed off, adding, âAbsolutely not. I became very close to some people and less close to others, but we still all had that experience together and thereâs a certain level of discretion required.â

Isaacs later walked back his statements but it was too late as fans speculated wildly.
Rumors About Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood

Following Isaacsâ claims of behind-the-scenes drama, speculation spread that Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood were at odds off screen. Viewers specifically noticed that Goggins and Wood were no longer following each other on social media but they ultimately broke their silence in a joint interview.
âThere is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,â Goggins told Variety in June 2025, where he got âchoked upâ about Wood. âThis is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. Iâll be on an island, I think Greece. But sheâs special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.â
Goggins made it clear that he and Wood âwill be friends for f***ing ever.â Elsewhere in the interview, the outlet noted that Goggins began to cry while discussing his character Rickâs journey with Chelsea, played by Wood.
âMy catharsis in this experience was different than other peopleâs, because of my history in this place. I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea,â he recalled. âAnd I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what Iâve gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.â

Goggins admitted he âneeded to just back away from everyoneâ after filming wrapping, adding, âI havenât spoken to anyone. I couldnât handle it. Judge me or donât. I donât give a f*** what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so thatâs what I needed to do for me to process all of this.â
Helena Bonham Carterâs Departure
Helena Bonham Carterâs early exit from The White Lotus made headlines one week into filming for season 4. News broke in April 2026 that Bonham Carterâs character would be scrapped amid reported creative differences with White. Laura Dern then joined the hit HBO series in a new role developed specifically for her.

âHBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they wonât get to work with [Helena Bonham Carter], but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon,â a statement from HBO read. âIt had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align.â
