Daniel Craig, after a multi-year stint as James Bond, retired as the character in No Time to Die (2021) and it meant the search was on for the next super agent. Looking to the future, Amazon moved to hire both Denis Villeneuve and Steven Knight to work on the new 007 film, and with that, there was an increased search on their part to determine who would step into the legendary tuxedo of Bond. Fans, for their part, have their own ideas of whom they feel would make a perfect MI6 agent now in the King’s Service.

Top on the list of die-hard fans of the franchise were the likes of Henry Cavill and Idris Elba, both of whom have impressive portfolios perfectly capable of locking down the role with little fuss. However, those in charge of making these decisions seem to have an entirely different idea in mind. While no one can speak down on the quality both aforementioned actors would bring to the role, according to the revelation made by casting director Nina Gold, Amazon was eyeing a younger actor for the project and, as such, it meant the elimination of the Superman and Hijack stars.

The character of James Bond has always been played exclusively by white, Caucasian men, and Ian Fleming never explicitly wrote the words white or Caucasian in his original novels. It was clear that given his familial background, described physical traits, and cultural markers, Mr. Bond was a white British man. In the wake of new casting rumors regarding the character, questions surrounding both Bond’s race and gender have arisen. Could James Bond be black or female? Charlie Higson, who is the author of five bestselling Young Bond books among others, while speaking to The Telegraph, is in no doubt about who should, and who should not, be the next James Bond. “Bond could be black, that wouldn’t be a prob­lem,” Higson said. “But there would be no point mak­ing Bond a woman, because the char­ac­ter’s about what it means to be a man. It’s a rep­res­ent­a­tion of man­hood and man­li­ness.”

The New James Bond Should Be Announced Soon

Higson goes on to explain that Bond was, in some ways, a reflection of the man who created him in the first place. “Ian Flem­ing fam­ously suffered from depres­sion, and put a lot of that into both Bond and the vil­lains,” the King Zero author explained. “Bond is in the same pos­i­tion as a lot of men. So long as he’s doing something, he doesn’t have to think about that other side of things.” So, should Higson’s analysis fly with those making the tough decisions, who might James Bond ultimately be? Recent reports suggest that Amazon is currently in the final stages of the selection process with six names — Jack Barton, Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, and Harris Dickinson — making it to the latter stages. While a decision is yet to be made regarding who gets the final nod, there are rumors that the decision might have been made already.

The Thursday, September 24, premiere presented contestants with the challenge of jumping out of a helicopter headfirst into the ocean. They then had to swim back to the dock quickly, which proved to be a challenge for several recruits, and Brandi Glanville suffered lasting medical issues that led to her dismissal.

“I over-rotated. I know it felt like my head hit the water, and it was so hard,” Glanville exclusively told Us of her instant reaction. “It was like immediately I was dizzy and I thought my whole body was in the water. Then my body hits the water after that. It was just like being run over by a truck.”

Glanville recalled continuing to struggle, adding, “It was crazy, and then I came up and I’m trying to swim. My whole body is in pain. My right arm is the only thing I can use, and I have all the water kicking up from the jet skis. So I’m drinking the water and I’m thinking, ‘Parasites!’ That’s all I can think about. Like, what is happening in my mouth?”

As soon as she got back on land, Glanville felt several injuries.

“Everyone kept touching me. And even just touching my back, it hurt. I was spinning. I couldn’t hear out of my left ear immediately. I was about to throw up, but then the camera guy was in my face, and I’m like, ‘You’re not getting this from me,’” she explained. “So I sat down, and they’re like, ‘Stand up!’ I’m like, ‘I cannot stand up. I will pass out and hit my head.’”

Glanville continued: “Of course I’m thinking all these crazy things, but everyone seemed to go through it really easily. Like, I was the second one to do it, and I’m watching all these girls go do it, and I’m like, ‘Am I just a disaster? Why can’t I do it like everyone else?’”

After departing the show, Glanville still struggled.

“It’s hard to turn [my arm]. Then my left boob is under my armpit, so that’s fun. And you’d have to fix that. But I hit the water really hard,” she noted. “We had to take boats because of my ear to the hospital, so we took three separate boats. We got to the hospital, and you cannot fly. I had a concussion and a perforated eardrum and all of these things. I had the worst headache where it just doesn’t go away.”

Glanville clarified that she was “on the mend,” adding, “I think that there are still just moments where I’m feeling like I’m an old lady to do that. We don’t recover like we used to. I mean, if I was 20, I really would have liked to dive and swim out of there.”

While Glanville didn’t make it to the end, she expressed pride in how far she got.

“I’m, like, so proud that I just didn’t give up and I just didn’t want to be the first one out. Obviously no one really wants to be,” she told Us. “I wanted to prove to my kids I could do it, but I had to go to the doctor. I was done. Glanville — who dealt with years of unrelated health issues prior to competing on Special Forces — shares two sons, Mason, 23, and Jake, 19, with her ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian.

On September 24, the band released the lead single, “Silencio.” Along with the announcement, the U2 also revealed that they collaborated with the late Dolly Parton on the closing track.

Initially, frontman Bono approached Parton for a separate project about Irish folk music, but the singer told him it was “a little too Irish” for her to take on. Instead, she offered her one of her songs and encouraged him to explore what could be done with it.

The result was the closing track on the album titled “Torn,” in which Bono duets with Parton. The singer told Rolling Stone it was recorded in June, just a few months before the country legend’s death on August 25, 2026.

Parton also missed some scheduled events, prompting her fans to worry. She updated her fans, acknowledging that she had some health issues was overfatigued, but assured them that she was still working.

Her final public appearance was at the grand opening of her Tennesseee Travel Stop in late June, where she cut the ribbon and made a short speech. Two months later, it was announced that Parton died at 80 years old after a private battle with cancer.

It turns out Crawford and her husband weren’t alone in getting help for their son, as Presley himself had checked into a facility after recognizing he was struggling.

According to The Blast, in his final weeks, those close to the young model noticed he seemed unusual, but they couldn’t place it. “He seemed a little off in recent weeks. Something was just not there. Energetically, he didn’t seem like himself,” noted the insider.

Another source explained that Presley, who dealt with self-esteem issues while alive, felt like “he was lacking purpose in his life” and “hadn’t really found his place.”

A woman accused of fatally attacking her husband with a box cutter and coffee mug has been charged with second-degree murder, according to authorities.

Christine Clark, of Hartford, New York, is also charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony offense, and criminal possession of a weapon, which is a misdemeanor, New York State Police said in a Thursday, September 24, news release.

State police and first responders found Clark’s husband, James M. Clark, with “severe, life-threatening injuries” at a Hartford home the morning of Wednesday, September 23, after they were called to a report of an unresponsive adult, according to police.

Investigators learned Christine cut James’ body using a box cutter and struck his head with a coffee mug, according to court filings obtained by WTEN.

She is accused of trying to hide her involvement in the crime by attempting to clean her husband’s blood using towels and water, the TV station reported.

It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the alleged attack.

Following her arrest, Christine was booked in the Washington County Correctional Facility, state police said. The jail is located about a 55-mile drive northeast from Albany.

Antonio Brown plans to accept a plea deal in an attempted murder case in Miami. The deal will have the former NFL star wide receiver avoid prison time on the reduced charge. His lawyer said Wednesday (Sept. 23) the agreement with prosecutors was too good to turn down.

What Happens Next For Antonio Brown? 

Antonio Brown will appear in court on Sept. 30 to finalize the deal. Defense attorney Mark Eiglarsh said AB will plead no contest to aggravated assault. His sentence will include probation without adjudication. This means Brown will not be considered a convicted felon, the attorney said. Brown could have faced up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the original attempted murder charge. AB was extradited in November 2025 from Dubai, where he has business interests. Officials had previously issued an arrest warrant on the attempted murder charge in June 2025.

Meanwhile, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office declined to comment on Wednesday. Spokesperson Ed Griffith said the details would be “fully clarified” at next week’s hearing. Antonio Brown has said on social media that he was defending himself from an attack and that others were trying to steal jewelry from him.

What Did AB Allegedly Do?

Brown is accused of grabbing a handgun from a security staffer after a celebrity boxing match in Miami on May 16, 2025. Also, he allegedly fired two shots at a man he had gotten into a fistfight with earlier, according to an arrest warrant. Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu told investigators that one of the bullets grazed his neck.

“This was not an easy decision,” Defense Attorney Eiglarsh said in a statement Wednesday. “Antonio believes in his innocence. He believes strongly in his Stand Your Ground defense, and he believes he would ultimately prevail at trial. But when prosecutors put an offer on the table that transforms a potential decades-long prison sentence into a significantly reduced charge and probation, there was simply no way he could reasonably turn it down.”

Florida’s so-called Stand Your Ground law allows people who believe they face death or serious injury to use deadly force to defend themselves without a duty to retreat. Also, Richard Cooper, an attorney for Nantambu, called the plea deal fair.

“We are satisfied that justice is served. My client maintains what he said previously: that he forgives Brown and will not cooperate with law enforcement,” Cooper said in an email Wednesday. “We wish Mr. Brown good health and that he grows from this event.”

In a previous statement, his attorneys said that Nantambu had decided to forgive Antonio Brown after “considerable reflection, prayer, and consultation with his family and counsel.”

AB Has A History Of Legal Issues

Antonio Brown has dealt with several legal problems over the years. He previously had been accused of battery of a moving truck driver, several domestic violence charges, failure to pay child support and other incidents. During a 2021 game with Tampa Bay against the New York Jets, Brown took off his jersey, shoulder pads and gloves and ran off the field. This led to his release by the Buccaneers and effectively ended his football career.

The 38-year-old spent 12 years in the NFL. He was an All-Pro wide receiver and won a Super Bowl championship with quarterback Tom Brady. He spent much of his career with Pittsburgh. For his career, Brown had 928 receptions for more than 12,000 yards and accounted for 88 total touchdowns, counting punt returns and one pass.

More than 83 tons of meat are being recalled across the U.S. According to the Department of Agriculture, federal authorities failed to properly inspect the meat and shipped it with fake inspection stickers.

Dept. Of Agriculture Explains Meat Recall

Star Meat Delivery Inc., based in Lucama, North Carolina, is recalling more than 167,000 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat nationwide. The USDA said that number could grow as it continues its investigation. The agency said it discovered the problem during the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service’s routine checks. It’s not clear whether officials have arrested or criminally charged anyone.

The products ended up at the Georgia distributor A&D Foods for distribution to retail and restaurant locations nationwide. Additionally, the meat in question was produced “on various dates” before Sept. 22. They had USDA inspection stickers falsely bearing an establishment number — EST. 1363 — that the agency said, “does not have a federal grant of inspection.” The USDA said the products are unsafe to eat. Furthermore, customers should discard or return the product(s) to the place of purchase.

However, the agency warned that some packages people purchased may not bear that labeling. That’s because retail stores may have applied their own stickers with pricing and safe handling instructions.

No Reports Of Illnesses Yet

Food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants, the Dept of Agriculture said Tuesday (Sept. 22) in announcing the meat recall. So far, there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or injuries from the meats, according to the USDA.

Company Responsible Reacts To Recall

Star Meat Delivery, in a statement posted on its Facebook page Thursday, pushed back at the notion that the inspection stamps on its products were somehow falsified. It said the establishment number in question was “legitimately reserved” as part of the USDA application process. The company is seeking approval to process and package meat for the Georgia distributor. That approval process is still underway, Star Meat said, although the meat involved came from a USDA-inspected supplier.

“No other products sold by Star Meat Delivery were mislabeled, and no other products sold by Star Meat Delivery are part of the recall that has been issued,” the company said. “We are cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities to finalize the application and are following the recall procedures that have been put into place.”

The USDA didn’t immediately respond to Star Meat’s statement. Recalls triggered by forged inspection stamps are relatively rare, according to Keith Schneider. Keith is a food safety professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

“This is someone taking a shortcut,” he said. “Systems are in place to catch these sorts of things and it appears the system worked as intended. You can’t skip inspections.”

Last year, some 32,000 pounds of meat, including chorizo, pork chops and ribs, were recalled after the USDA determined they had fake inspection stickers. The meat was produced by Sabrositos Hondurenos of New Jersey.
