Dakota Fanning Gets Emotional Over Her And Elle’s Emmy Nods
Dakota Fanning shared an emotional reaction on Instagram after she and Elle Fanning both received Emmy recognition, calling it “an unbelievable morning” for her family.
The “Ripley” actress celebrated Elle’s success, praised the teams behind the productions that earned their nominations, and said she was “bursting with happiness” that her character, Jenny, connected so deeply with women.
As part of her research for the role that won her the nod, Elle previously revealed that she joined OnlyFans to understand the online creator world her character enters.
Elle Fanning’s Emmy nomination was for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Apple TV’s “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” in which she plays Margo Millet, a young mother who turns to OnlyFans to support herself after her life is upended.
The show also earned eight nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, making it a major creative win for Elle and Dakota’s Lewellen Pictures. The sisters’ production company is behind the comedy series, with Elle starring and both Fannings serving as executive producers.
Dakota Fanning, meanwhile, was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series for her role in “All Her Fault” on Peacock. The series also performed strongly in the limited-series field, with Sarah Snook among its standout names.
Dakota Fanning ‘Bursting With Happiness’ Over Emmy Nominations

Dakota could barely contain her joy after she and Elle both landed Emmy recognition.
Reacting to the news on Instagram, the actress called it “an unbelievable morning” for her family and said the pride she felt watching Elle “shine” was “hard to put into words.” Dakota also celebrated the moment as a creative milestone for the sisters, adding that she “could not be prouder” to partner with Elle at Lewellen Pictures.
The love did not stop there. Dakota gave flowers to the teams behind “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” and “All Her Fault.” She reserved special praise for “the indomitable Sarah Snook,” before thanking voters for recognizing her “amongst such fierce women.”
The actress added that she hoped her character Jenny would help women “feel less alone,” writing, “I’m bursting with happiness. Thank you!!!!!”
Elle Fanning Joined OnlyFans To Prepare For New Role

To prepare for her role in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” Elle says she joined OnlyFans for research.
The actress revealed at the SXSW Film & TV Festival that an account was created for her and the show’s writers to better understand the platform her character enters in the Apple TV+ series.
While Elle was already familiar with Instagram and TikTok, she said OnlyFans required a closer look because it operates differently from more mainstream social media platforms. The research helped her better understand the layout, tone, and creator environment that shape Margo’s world.
Elle And Dakota Fanning To Finally Share The Screen In ‘The Nightingale’
Dakota and Elle are also preparing for a major sister act on-screen in the upcoming TriStar drama “The Nightingale.”
The collaboration will mark the first time the sisters have acted opposite each other in a feature film, despite both spending most of their lives in Hollywood. The story is adapted from Kristin Hannah’s bestselling World War II novel, and follows two sisters in Nazi-occupied France who are forced to survive the war in very different ways.
Dakota is set to play Vianne, the older sister trying to protect her family under occupation, while Elle will portray Isabelle, the younger and more rebellious sister drawn into the resistance.
The older sister later told Deadline that sharing the screen with Elle quickly erased any nerves they had, and made their long-awaited collaboration feel deeply familiar.
“Working with Elle was as wonderful as I expected,” she said. “And any nerves that we had were gone within minutes of being on set together in our first scene. It felt like we were little girls playing in our playroom again as we did our whole childhood. And it’s just something we’ll share forever.”
Dakota Fanning Enters Messy Romance In New Indie Drama

Dakota is also stepping into messy romantic territory with “The Sun Never Sets,” Joe Swanberg’s first feature film in seven years.
The upcoming romantic drama stars Dakota as Wendy, a woman whose relationship with her older, divorced boyfriend Jack (Jake Johnson) begins to unravel when he asks for space. That break becomes even more complicated when Wendy reconnects with her ex, Chuck (Cory Michael Smith), pulling her into a tense love triangle.
The project also gives Dakota a meaningful behind-the-camera role as one of the film’s producers.

Hideo Kojima Officially Responds to PlayStation’s Execution of Physical Media
The video game industry is never far from controversy, although it seems that, lately, there have been more controversies than usual. The biggest of these came last week, when PlayStation announced it would stop producing physical game discs beginning in 2028. This announcement was never going to go down well, but perhaps PlayStation didn’t anticipate just how big the backlash would be. At a time when digital media is becoming more common than ever, fans have been returning to physical preservation, with the rate of decline in DVD sales starting to slow.
For fans to at least have the option to physically purchase their latest favorite game seems decent, so it’s far from surprising that this announcement from PlayStation has disappointed millions. Add to this Sony’s recent removal of hundreds of purchased movies from users’ digital libraries due to licensing changes, and the storm is starting to entice even the biggest voices to speak out. One such voice is that of legendary director Hideo Kojima, best known for his work on the Metal Gear and Death Stranding franchises.
Speaking about PlayStation’s decision at the Il Cinema in Piazza Film Festival in Italy, Kojima expressed his frustration with the decision, saying (translated into English), “Since production is ending in 2028, this is about video games, but I grew up with physical media, so I find it really sad.” He continued, “The situation is different for games, as they are downloaded to the hard drive; that means the game data remains on your own hardware. However, if things shift to streaming in the future, that won’t be the case anymore.” Fears for the future haven’t escaped even the most talented of video game minds, with Kojima further adding:
“There are companies that own these servers and let you ‘turn the tap’ for a monthly fee. However, with nations, politics and various ways of thinking, one naturally has to consider the possibility that if there is a change, the data inside will stop being distributed. And if that happens, you won’t be able to watch or play the movies and games you like.”
Bringing Reacher star Alan Ritchson‘s dream to life, it was recently announced that Metal Gear Solid would be getting a feature film courtesy of Sony. Final Destination Bloodlines filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein are set to direct, with Avi Arad and Ari Arad producing. This news comes as little surprise, given the current trend of video game movies on both the big and small screen and their huge success with viewers.

UFC’s Conor McGregor Addresses Losing Comeback Fight
Conor McGregor has broken his silence after his abrupt loss at UFC 329.
“I was so sharp and so ready for this fight I cannot believe what has happened,” McGregor, 37, wrote via X on Sunday, July 12. “The talk of me being off while walking into the fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident.”
He continued, “I am in shock [at] what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging. I will be at church tomorrow.”
McGregor fought rival Max Holloway on Saturday, July 11, where he lost the match in just 69 seconds. Despite the quick bout, McGregor has pledged to come back even stronger. (The event was pegged as McGregor’s comeback after last stepping into the ring in 2021.)
“I will overcome this. I will not be deterred,” he concluded his Sunday X upload. “I will return.”
Before the fight was called in just over one minute, UFC commentators speculated that McGregor’s opening roundhouse kick caused an injury.
“My head gasket is gone. Destroyed. I had no injury / injuries going into the fight,” he tweeted the next day, denying the speculation. “I was throwing kicks, planted and jumping, all throughout camp as well as backstage before the fight. This came out of nowhere. I am beyond dark here. I can only describe it as hell.”
In light of his defeat, McGregor has turned to his faith for solace.
“I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible,” the pro athlete wrote in a follow-up X post. “I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through Him all things were made.”
McGregor continued, “For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, He suffered death and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.”
McGregor further proclaimed that he believes in the “Holy Spirit” and God as “the giver of life.”
“I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church,” he noted. “I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.”

Britney Spears Says Viral Freeway Stunt Was Misunderstood
Britney Spears is refusing to let public criticism define the latest headline surrounding her.
Days after photos of the pop star standing through the sunroof of a moving SUV spread across the internet, the singer has broken her silence with a cryptic response that insists the viral images failed to capture the full story.
Rather than expressing regret, Spears appears to be embracing the moment.
After her unusual freeway appearance sparked widespread discussion online, Britney Spears took to Instagram to offer her own explanation of what people witnessed.
Sharing a dramatic photo of herself stretched across the roof of a vehicle with her arms extended, the Grammy winner suggested the public had drawn conclusions from only a brief snapshot of her day.
“What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords !!!!!” Spears wrote on Instagram.
She then hinted that the reality behind the now-viral moment was far more complicated, adding, “yet the days and hours of my reality !!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.”
Instead of backing away from the controversy, Spears appeared to lean into it with a playful final remark.
“Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more,” she joked.
Britney Spears’ Freeway Ride Quickly Became A Viral Talking Point

The singer first made headlines after photographers captured her standing through the sunroof of a black Mercedes SUV while traveling along the 101 Freeway near Studio City.
Images showed Spears extending both arms across the roof of the moving vehicle while throwing her head back as traffic continued around her.
Witnesses estimated she remained above the roofline for roughly two minutes before the SUV exited the freeway.
Although Spears wasn’t driving the vehicle herself, the images immediately sparked debate because standing through a moving vehicle’s sunroof is widely considered a dangerous practice by road safety experts.
The incident came only weeks after Spears resolved a highly publicized California driving case, prompting renewed discussion about her safety and public behavior.
Despite the criticism, there has been no indication that authorities have launched any investigation related to the freeway outing.
A Source Previously Said The Moment Was Never Meant To Be Dangerous

Before Britney Spears addressed the controversy herself, a source close to the singer offered a different explanation for what happened on the freeway.
As The Blast reported, the insider said Spears briefly emerged through the sunroof after traffic slowed because she wanted to see what was causing the delay ahead.
The source also said the moment reminded Spears of her childhood, explaining that she enjoyed feeling the warm summer air and never intended to create a dangerous situation.
They described the singer as being in “a good place” and simply enjoying her summer.
Spears’ own Instagram message did not directly address that explanation, but it echoed the broader idea that the public only witnessed a small piece of what actually happened.
By insisting that “Nothing is what it seems,” she appeared to reject the assumptions many people made after the photographs circulated.
Britney Spears Carries On Despite The Criticism

If the backlash affected Spears, she gave little indication of it online.
One day after the freeway photos dominated entertainment headlines, the singer returned to Instagram with another familiar sight for longtime followers.
She posted a video of herself dancing in a glittering pink minidress, smiling, sticking out her tongue, and performing in front of the camera.
The carefree clip suggested Spears had little interest in addressing every criticism directed her way.
That approach has become increasingly common since the end of her conservatorship in 2021.
Over the past several years, Spears has regularly used social media to share dance videos, personal reflections, and unfiltered glimpses into her daily life, often prompting passionate reactions from both supporters and critics.
Spears’ Response Comes Months After Her Driving Case Ended

Britney Spears’ latest comments arrive only a short time after she resolved a widely publicized California driving case that once again placed her personal life under intense scrutiny.
The singer was arrested in Ventura County in March after authorities accused her of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Prosecutors later agreed to reduce the original DUI charge to a misdemeanor “wet reckless” offense, a resolution they said was consistent with cases involving first-time offenders, no injuries, and a relatively low blood alcohol level.
By pleading guilty through her attorney, Spears avoided a harsher sentence but was placed on 12 months of summary probation.
She was also ordered to complete a 30-hour DUI education program, continue weekly therapy and regular psychiatric treatment, and pay state-mandated fines.
The freeway photos attracted heightened attention in part because they surfaced so soon after that case concluded. Although Spears was not driving during the recent incident and authorities have not indicated that any laws were broken, the images inevitably revived conversations about her safety and decision-making.

Kiely’s Sister Blasts ‘Cheetah Girls 4’ Announcement
Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon excited their millennial fans across the world earlier this week when they, alongside Disney Channel, announced an upcoming fourth “Cheetah Girls” movie. The new flick, dubbed “Next Gen,” will air sometime in 2027 and star Symoné and Bailon as Galleria and Chanel. The movie will also feature special appearances by Sabrina Bryan (Dorinda in the first three movies), Lynn Whitfield, and Lori Alter. Kiely Williams, the fourth member of the original quartet, is not attached to the film, and her absence has caused quite a stir online. Fans have voiced their displeasure at Williams’ exclusion, and her sister, Tse Meidas Williams, also expressed her displeasure. In a post online, Tse blasted Symoné and Bailon, calling them “hateful b-tches” before turning her anger toward Bryan, a longtime friend and supporter of Kiely.
Tse took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to blast Symoné and Bailon after Disney announced that “The Cheetah Girls 4: Next Gen” had just begun production.
“Raven and Adrienne are truly hateful b-tches,” she wrote. “They are also 2-faced and liars.”
Tse, who reportedly raised Kiely when she was younger, also turned her anger toward Bryan, one of Kiely’s longtime friends, calling her a “pick me.”
“Kiely was the easy person to villainize since the 3LW, so here we are. I believe in karma. They will get [what’s] due; they will have earned it,” Tse continued.
Don’t forget, Bailon and Kiely have decades’ worth of history, given that they were both part of the real-life girl group 3LW (3 Little Women) from 1999 to 2007.
Kiely And Symoné Discussed Their Issues With Each Other During The COVID-19 Pandemic
There have been rumors about drama between the cast of “The Cheetah Girls” for nearly two decades now. For those who may be unfamiliar, Symoné appeared in the franchise’s first two films in 2003 and 2006 but opted not to return for the third movie in 2008.
In 2020, Symoné and Kiely discussed their issues with each other during an Instagram livestream, in which Symoné revealed that she felt excluded from the group while making the first two films.
“The cliquish way that there was during that movie made me feel excluded from my original team set,” she said. “Not that it was strong to begin with, but I felt excluded. That was when me and Belinda started being friends because we felt ostracized.”
There Could Be Other Issues That Led To Kiely Being Left Out Of The ‘Cheetah Girls’ Reunion Film

Later in the conversation, Symoné told Kiely that she had problems with more than just her. “You know what’s next on the list. I talked to Adrienne,” Symoné said before telling her that she needed to fix their issues.
Kiely, though, wasn’t going for it, telling Symoné that she wasn’t interested in connecting with the “Real” alum for deeply personal reasons.
“She didn’t come to my dad’s funeral or call me when he died,” Kiely said. “I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be messy. I’m being for real with you, no. You can say what you want about me and how you felt about me, but you can’t ever say that I didn’t f—— ride for Adrienne. You can’t say that.”
Bryan Has Spoken Highly Of Kiely In The Past, Recounts Days On Set Of ‘The Cheetah Girls’

As for Bryan’s relationship with Kiely, she said in 2024 that she and Kiely, who played Aqua in the franchise, were on great terms. “Kiely has been one of my best friends since the start to end,” she told E! News.
“From the first movie, we really connected,” Bryan continued, before sharing that they’ve made special memories together since they first connected in the early 2000s.
“She was my maid of honor in my wedding,” she said. “I was her maid of honor.”
‘The Cheetah Girls 4’ Will Feature A New Group Of Aspiring Pop Stars
According to a previous report from The Blast, “The Cheetah Girls 4” will be executive produced by Symoné and Debra Martin Chase. The movie will follow Symoné and Bailon’s characters, along with Symoné’s daughter and Bailon’s sister, as they travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary.
There, the group of young, aspiring pop stars will “find their voice and discover the true Cheetah spirit as they save the preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girls.”

Scott Foley’s Disappointing TV News: Deaths, Cancellations
From a shocking Will Trent death to multiple cancellations, Scott Foley hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to TV roles.
Foley is known for his appearance on various TV shows, including his work on The Unit, Scrubs, Felicity and Scandal. He has also guest starred on Grey’s Anatomy, Dawson’s Creek and House, though his onscreen arcs have usually been cut short or ended tragically.
After Foley joined Will Trent in 2025, there were concerns that his character, Seth, wouldn’t make it for the long haul. A May 2026 episode showed Angie (Erika Christensen) finally giving birth, but her happiness was short-lived as Seth, her husband, died after collapsing in the hospital.
“What a wonderful gift to receive after a wonderful experience on #willtrent,” Foley wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of his name in the show’s title card. “Thanks to the cast and crew, the writers and creators who made the experience so special.”
He added, “This will surely make my wife and daughter say ‘Awww’ each time they pass by and really, that’s enough for me.”
Months later, Foley broke his silence about his latest show’s cancellation. He took to Instagram in July 2026 to address Prime Video not renewing his faith-focused series, It’s Not Like That, for a second season.
“After six or so weeks in Prime Video’s Top 10, I think getting as high as, like, three or four, really great reviews — I think we have like 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes — our little show called It’s Not Like That has been canceled at Amazon Prime,” he began in the video, admitting he was “disappointed” by the news.
“But I’m so grateful for the chance. I get to make — I got to make a show I’m so proud of with people I grew to like a lot, and now we don’t get to make it anymore, and you don’t get to watch it,” he continued. “If you watched it, thank you. I appreciate it. If you didn’t, it’s still on Amazon Prime.”
Foley added, “It’s not going to change the cancellation, but I wanted to thank everybody who took the time to check it out. Whether it was you found it on your own, whether it was a recommendation you saw on social media, it’s appreciated. So thank you.”
Keep scrolling for a breakdown of Foley’s most disappointing TV news:
‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Playing a patient with a rare genetic condition can only end one way on Grey’s Anatomy — and the medical drama delivered exactly that with Foley’s Henry.
‘Scandal’

While Foley’s character, Jake, survived on Scandal, his ending was far from happy. Not only did he not get the girl, Jake took the fall for crimes that led to him imprisoned for life.
‘Whiskey Cavalier’

Foley’s action series, which also costarred Lauren Cohan, Ana Ortiz, Tyler James Williams, Vir Das and Josh Hopkins, had a short-lived run on ABC.
‘The Big Leap’

Foley led the cast of The Big Leap when it ran for one season on Fox in 2021.
‘The Girls on the Bus’

Foley had a recurring role on the HBO Max series, which only lasted one season.
‘Will Trent’

After a two-season stint on Will Trent, Foley’s character, Seth, was killed off shortly after getting married and becoming a father.
‘It’s Not Like That’

The faith-based series was canceled in 2026 after airing one season — despite finding success on Prime Video.

Apple TV’s 6-Part Sci-Fi Hit Continues To Impress on Streaming
While Apple TV has built a reputation as the best streaming destination for sci-fi fans currently, there is one problem: Most of its shows are still relatively young. Part of that is because of the nature of streaming and the fact that Apple TV is barely a decade old. Its library consists of sci-fi dramas with fewer than three seasons, many reaching their natural conclusion around Season 3 or 4. However, there has been one Apple TV show that has beaten the odds and is now headed toward its sixth season.
In fact, this show is the oldest Apple TV sci-fi drama, having premiered in 2019, when the service launched. The ambitious space drama has explored the cosmos in a way never seen before, with each season pushing its characters further into the galaxy. This show, titled For All Mankind, has been a consistent performer for Apple TV, with each season receiving acclaim from critics and viewers. However, the past two have not been as well received, with many critiquing the show’s slow descent into melodrama. The consequences of this critique might not be immediately visible in For All Mankind‘s critical reception, where, even though it has scored highly, its score has dropped in recent seasons. However, the effects are visible on streaming, where the recent season has struggled to keep viewers hooked.
Streaming data from FlixPatrol has shown that For All Mankind struggled to break into the top five of Apple TV’s global streaming chart during its recent season. But looking at the rankings over a month since the Season 4 finale, something different is happening. The series has held strong, regularly appearing in the top ten even as new shows shoot to the top and vanish shortly after the season finale. This phenomenon hints that while fans are not rushing to stream new episodes of For All Mankind, the sweeping five-season drama is still drawing enough constant attention. By the time the sixth and final season rolls around, viewers who fell off might have caught up with the story, and the show can reclaim its position as a leader.
What To Expect in ‘For All Mankind’ Season 6
The final season brings to an end this intergenerational story that has taken man to the moon and other planets. When Collider’s Therese Lacson caught up with co-creators Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert, they confirmed that Season 6 is indeed in production and the cameras are rolling. The pair remained reticent about what fans can expect in the final season, saying that mystery is part of the story’s charm. To learn why an abandoned ship woke up in the middle of nowhere in space or what the Cyrillic text on the computer meant, fans will have to tune in to For All Mankind Season 6.
Stream For All Mankind on Apple TV, and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Conseclods Are Ruining Entertainment And Reasonable Discussion Around The Odyssey
By Joshua Tyler
| Updated

A few months ago, I coined the term “slop eater” to explain people who mindlessly consume content without regard to whether it’s any good. That term has now become widely used because it’s clear that slop eaters are a problem, and they degrade the overall quality of the entertainment you watch because they don’t support any standards.
However, slop eaters aren’t the only problem. Because there’s another group doing far more to destroy everything you see on screens. They’re called Conseclods.
Conseclod is a term I just invented to describe someone who habitually ignores or dismisses the downstream consequences of actions, decisions, systems, or ideas, focusing instead on immediate gratification, appearances, craftsmanship, intentions, or other surface-level considerations.

Try saying it out loud; it’s a lot of fun. KON-suh-klod!
There are dozens of ways to describe someone who is overly focused on consequences, and they’re all derogatory. Maybe you’ve used some of them yourself. They’re terms like wet blanket, buzzkill, and Debbie Downer. Until this very moment, though, there wasn’t a single clear term to describe someone who doesn’t care about consequences at all, and they’re not only a far larger group but also a far bigger problem.
How Conseclods Are Ruining Movies
Conseclods are ruining the entire world around you in a wide variety of ways, but this is an entertainment site so let’s focus on how they’re ruining entertainment. They’re the people who, when someone raises an objection to the way the media we’re consuming might be negatively impacting our brains, make a non-argument like “lighten up” to shame reasoned critique.
Conseclods are obsessed with the craft of whatever they’re watching. Their thoughts on the content they consume are limited to how well-made it is, whether it elicits any emotions, and how much fun it is to watch. Those things are worth discussing, but given screens’ proven ability to influence people’s minds, they’re minor details in a much larger picture.
When a movie handles an idea recklessly, the Conseclod does not examine the criticism. He simply declares that criticism illegitimate. It is “just entertainment,” and therefore nobody has any right to ask what the entertainment encourages, excuses, celebrates, or makes emotionally appealing.
That gives filmmakers the perfect escape hatch. They can deliberately engineer every image, line, musical cue, and emotional payoff to manipulate the audience, then hide behind the claim that none of it means anything. If anyone notices what the movie is doing, the Conseclod arrives to accuse that person of taking movies too seriously.
This produces lazier storytelling. Writers no longer need to defend the ideas embedded in their work because Conseclods will insist those ideas do not exist. A filmmaker can glamorize cruelty, reward stupidity, romanticize dysfunction, or turn destructive behavior into heroic rebellion without ever confronting its implications.
Conseclods believe that if a movie does not instantly cause every viewer to copy its characters, they conclude that it influenced nobody. But entertainment rarely works that way. It shapes associations, expectations, sympathies, language, and perceptions gradually.
Conseclods somehow never make these same arguments about advertising. Everyone, even the Conseclods, admits that advertising on screens manipulates and influences people.
Studios spend enormous amounts of money placing products in movies because seeing something on screen can change how audiences feel about it. Nobody believes James Bond must stop the movie, stare into the camera, and order everyone to buy an Aston Martin before the placement counts as persuasion. Yet Conseclods pretend the same mechanism stops working when movies sell attitudes instead of cars.
Conseclods Are The Odyssey’s Primary Defenders

It’s happening right now with The Odyssey. The film’s director, Christopher Nolan, recently admitted in an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 that one of his primary goals in making the movie was to persuade his audience into abandoning what he deems as “cultural prejudice.” Nolan explicitly stated that he wants to “do away with some of those assumptions.”
Meanwhile, most of the attempts to discuss the way in which The Odyssey is doing this very thing are shut down by a flood of Conseclods who laugh at the idea and call the people engaging with it killjoys. Those same Conseclods then redirect the conversation to how cool the Cyclops looks.
Conseclodding lowers creative standards. Treating movies as meaningless distractions encourages disposable entertainment designed only to deliver familiar characters, easy stimulation, and temporary emotional release. If nothing on screen matters, then filmmakers have little reason to make anything thoughtful, coherent, truthful, or responsible.
The result of Conseclodism is entertainment that demands to be celebrated when it says something important but is declared meaningless when anyone challenges what it says. Filmmakers want the prestige of shaping culture without accepting responsibility for the culture they help shape. Conseclods create the cover that makes this possible.
By insisting nothing matters, Conseclods give the people making entertainment permission to stop caring about not only whether any of it is good but whether it’s good for you.
