How Rosie O’Donnell Knew To End Her Talk Show

Published

Rosie O’Donnell at ''Russian Doll'' Season 1 Premiere-NYC

While some talk show hosts have begged networks to keep them on the air, Rosie O’Donnell said she walked away from hers. In a new interview, the comedian and actress said she turned down Warner Bros offer to renew her talk show for $100 million when she learned she had exactly that amount in her bank account. According to the mother of five, she was never in the business to get rich, and after realizing she had more than enough to take care of herself, family, friends, and even strangers, she knew it was time to move on.

Speaking to Page Six, O’Donnell, 64, said she was more than OK with “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” ending after six seasons in 2002 because she was rolling in dough. According to her, throughout her run on the show, her bank account had amassed a staggering $100 million.

“When I heard that [number], I thought, ‘OK, now I’m done,’” she said. “And everyone was like, ‘Why are you leaving?’”

O’Donnell, Kelli Carpenter’s ex-wife, said that leaving wasn’t just about the money; it was about being present for the moments most important to her. “I wanted to be at their softball games,” she said. “I wanted to be at school plays.”

Rosie O’Donnell Said The Executives At Warner Bros Were Confused When She Decided To Leave Another $100 Million On The Table

O’Donnell said she realized she “had enough money to take care of everyone in my life, philanthropy, and strangers,” so her interest in returning for another season quickly faded.

According to “The View” alum, Warner Bros offered her another $100 million to return for a seventh season, but she declined the offer with ease.

When the executives at the network questioned her decision, O’Donnell said she told them that by that point in her career, she didn’t need to spend time stacking more money.

“I don’t get the billionaires,” she said. “I don’t get how people only measure their life in money, not what they can do for other people.”

Could Rosie O’Donnell Ever Make A Talk Show Comeback? She Says…

Although she vowed to leave the cue cards behind, O’Donnell actually returned to host a special episode of “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

O’Donnell, in partnership with Broadway.com, hosted a one-night-only show on her YouTube channel, raising a whopping $600,000 for the Actors Fund.

The production was produced by “Madam Secretary” star Erich Bergen and featured several stellar performers, including Ben Platt, Patti LuPone, Kristin Chenoweth, and Billy Porter.

Speaking with Variety, O’Donnell said she didn’t know if she could see herself returning to hosting full-time, but acknowledged the nostalgic feeling the show likely evoked for her fans.

“You put both of those together, and somebody like me who wears her heart on her sleeve, it’s a good combination. So I don’t know what will happen,” she said.

O’Donnell’s ‘View’ Co-Star Said She’s Not In The Same Boat…

O’Donnell’s comments about money differ vastly from those of her “The View” counterpart, Whoopi Goldberg. During a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, Goldberg was asked whether she had ever considered slowing down, given that she’s been on the long-running talk show for nearly 20 years.

“Yeah, but who can afford to do that? You know, if you don’t marry well, you gotta keep working,” the “Sister Act” star said. “No, not by now. Not yet. I gotta keep paying those bills, baby.”

Goldberg then said that she could relate to those who were having a hard time, saying, “Me, too. I work for a living.” She added, “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, okay? So, I’m a working person, you know.”

Sherri Shepherd Pleaded For Her Talk Show To Get Another Chance

And speaking of talk shows, earlier this year, news broke that Sherri Shepherd’s show was ending after four seasons on the air. While the announcement was upsetting for her, Shepherd told “TODAY” hosts Jenna and Sheinelle that she was still working hard to keep her program alive.

“Let me tell you something. I’m from the Shepherds of Chicago. We don’t go down without a fight, not at all. So, I am still really trying to keep this going, and you haven’t seen the last of ‘Sherri,’” she said.

The show aired its final episode on May 21, 2026, and, in an emotional farewell clip, the comedian thanked everyone involved for helping to turn her dreams into reality.

“I want to say, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for welcoming me into your homes every single day. I want to thank you for laughing and crying with us,” she said.

Little House on the Prairie’s TV Changes: Missing Characters, Religion

Published

on

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Netflix adapted Little House on the Prairie — but what changes does their version have compared to the original series?

Based on the book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House on the Prairie series is centered on the Ingalls family, who live on a farm on Plum Creek near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, in the late 1800s.

NBC released an adaptation in 1974 with Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Sue Anderson leading the cast. Little House also launched the careers of Jason Bateman, who played James Cooper Ingalls, and reality star Kyle Richards, who starred as Alicia Sanderson Edwards.

After Landon departed the show during the show’s ninth and final season, the show title was changed to Little House: A New Beginning. Three movies were released after Little House on the Prairie wrapped up its run.

Netflix announced plans for its own version, which is set to be released in July 2026. The series was renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere with Alice Halsey, Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald and Skywalker Hughes leading the cast.

Jocko Sims, Warren Christie, Wren Zhawenim Gotts, Meegwun Fairbrother, Alyssa Wapanatâhk and more round out the cast.

Keep scrolling to see how the Netflix version differs from the ’70s series:

Missing Characters

While the youngest member of the Ingalls family joined them later in the season, Carrie wasn’t present since the beginning as expected.

Nellie Oleson is also missing after viewers were awaiting an appearance in season 1. Netflix has renewed the show for season 2, which is when Nellie is expected to appear.

A Change of Place

When the Netflix show premiered, the Ingalls family moved from Wisconsin to build a homestead near Independence, Kansas, in the 1870s. Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series, meanwhile, is centered on family during their time in Plum Creek near Walnut Grove, Minnesota.

At the end of season 1, the Ingalls struggled under the weight of their debt. They ultimately made the decision to move — and head to Plum Creek. This would connect the show back to its original story line.

The Religion Details

In the original series, the family goes to church and highlights their connection to God. While faith is mentioned in Netflix’s version, it hasn’t been as prevalent, which connects it back to the books.

Introducing Indigenous Stories

Netflix’s version made an effort to center season 1 around an Osage family, which wasn’t the focus of the books and the ’70s show.

Whenever I see a wrap dress like this, I can’t help but imagine my alter ego: a rich mom spending the summer hopping between Greek islands. She’s carrying a woven tote, ordering lunch by the water and somehow never checking her email. I’m not quite there yet, but this $27 wrap dress (21% off!) lets me dress the part.

The best part is that it looks like something I’d discover while wandering into a tiny boutique overlooking the Aegean Sea instead of scrolling online. The upscale-looking find even comes with free shipping, making it that much easier to bring a little Mediterranean energy into my summer wardrobe.

The wrap-style midi dress comes in sizes S to XL and features a flattering waist-defining silhouette with bold stripes. The crisp, white-and-navy color reminds me of Greece’s iconic blue-and-white architecture, while the navy colorway with warm neutral stripes feels just as timeless.

I’d style it this coastal-inspired number with leather sandals, oversized sunglasses, a woven tote and chunky gold jewelry.

I’m always looking for pieces that make everyday life feel a little more special, and this effortless wrap dress does exactly that. Even if the only coastline I’m seeing this summer is the edge of my neighborhood lake, I’ll happily take the illusion.

For just $27, this boutique-worthy wrap dress makes pretending I’m vacationing in Greece feel surprisingly convincing.

Dwayne Johnson’s Box Office Woes Get Worse With ‘Moana’ Remake

Published

on

moana-poster.jpg

While box-office tracking pointed to an opening weekend haul in the $70 million range, Disney’s live-action Moana remake came in much lower. The timing of the movie’s release, on the heels of Toy Story 5 and Minions & Monsters, might have had a role to play in its underperformance. Family audiences have plenty to choose from, and another Moana movie so close after the last one isn’t going to be a priority. Remember, Disney transformed a planned streaming series midway through production into the feature-length Moana 2, which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide less than two years ago. Plus, the original Moana, which has become a sensation on Disney+, is only a decade old.

The live-action remake was directed by Thomas Kail, who helmed the Disney+ version of Hamilton previously in addition to his considerable body of work in theater. His experience in mega-budget studio filmmaking, however, was limited prior to Moana. The movie comes with a reported price tag of $250 million, which instantly gives it a $1 billion target. Studios split theatrical revenues equally with exhibitors, meaning that Moana would need to gross at least $500 million worldwide just to break even. A start like this, combined with poor reviews, will make achieving this target extremely difficult; Moana debuted in the same range as Disney’s ill-fated Snow White remake from 2025, which ended its run with just a little more than $200 million worldwide against a reported budget of $335 million.

The mission is paused. You have one evening to decompress. What does your partner suggest?

It’s the final moment. Everything is on the line. What do you need from your partner right now?
The last question is the most honest one.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Here’s How Much ‘Moana’ Grossed in Its Opening Weekend at the Box Office

Moana, on the other hand, grossed $43 million domestically and $52 million internationally for a worldwide debut of $95 million. The movie brings back Dwayne Johnson in the role of Maui, while newcomer Catherine Langa’aia stars as the titular character. Moana holds a 34% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “The sea calls to no one in this underwhelming new version of Moana, an endeavor that solidifies its animated predecessor as the superior adventure.” However, the regular folks who’ve seen the movie seem to have enjoyed it. Moana earned an A- grade on CinemaScore from opening-day crowds, and now holds a “Verified Hot” 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. These high ratings will serve it well over the course of its run; they also give Johnson something to take pride in. Even though several of his recent films — The Smashing Machine, Red One, Black Adam, Jungle Cruise — have underperformed at the box office, his fans have given them high scores. Red One and Black Adam, for instance, hold 89% and 87% audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

This ‘House of the Dragon’ Fan Theory Could Finally Explain One of ‘Game of Thrones” Biggest Mysteries

Published

on

Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers in House of the Dragon Season 3, standing with her hands on her hips in Harrenhal.

Some of the oldest, most beloved, and most plausible Game of Thrones fan theories revolve around secret identities — Jon Snow is secretly a Targaryen prince, for example. Several secret identities are revealed throughout the series, and there are dozens more proposed and debated in online forums to this day. Now, that grand fandom tradition has spilled over to House of the Dragon, where a surprisingly compelling theory ties Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin) to the main series. Alys is clearly more than she claims to be, but more and more fans are opening up to the idea that she may not even be human. Specifically, some believe she may be Leaf — a Child of the Forest who helps guide Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) to the throne.

House of the Dragon started off around 200 years before Game of Thrones, and after a few time-skips, it’s now depicting a war that took place about 170 years before Bran Stark fell from a tower window. There have been some half-hearted theories about characters with unnaturally long lives who might appear in this prequel, but so far the producers seem more interested in connecting the two shows through garbled prophecies and visions. However, that could change by the end as the mystery of Alys Rivers grows and demands explanation. However, if the witch of Harrenhal is truly Leaf wearing a glamor, it would set off a chain reaction of other theories about A Song of Ice and Fire.

‘House of the Dragon’ Emphasizes Alys’ Power

House of the Dragon is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, which is not a novel but a “fictional history book.” It’s written from the perspective of an in-world maester, who is an unreliable narrator at the best of times. The book typically offers at least two or three explanations for every action its characters take, and the truth is obscured in the fog of history. On top of that, the maesters are notoriously skeptical of all magic, which means the book downplays the influence of magic at every turn. This is even true for Targaryen dragon-riders — who have demonstrable magic for all to see — so it’s even more true for those like Alys Rivers who worship the old gods and use more discrete powers.

The adaptation had every opportunity to downplay Alys’ abilities as well, taking the simplest explanations offered by the maesters. Instead, the show has only bolstered Alys’ influence, if anything. Not only has she ensorceled Daemon (Matt Smith) and other men, she has communed with animals, assassinated Lord Grover Tully, and dispensed important prophecies she already seemed to know. In Fire & Blood, some of Alys’ greatest alleged magical acts are still ahead, and by now most fans agree that House of the Dragon will take the more esoteric explanation whenever possible.

It’s obviously fun and preferable for a fantasy TV series to have more magic in it, not less, yet as Alys’ power continues to build, fans are more curious than ever about her identity. In Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, we are repeatedly told that “old powers are waking,” indicating that the magic of the old gods such as Alys uses has been weak and scarce south of the Wall for quite some time. For this witch of Harrenhal to be using these powers so much, many feel she must be more than a bastard daughter of House Strong. The show seems intent on stringing out the mystery of Alys’ identity as well, implying that the answer will be a big payoff.

Naturally, fans have compared Alys to Game of Thrones’ Melisandre (Carice van Houten) — another mysterious witch with an unnaturally long lifespan and an interest in manipulating Westerosi politics. Some have even proposed that Alys is Melisandre in disguise, but there’s not much evidence to support that theory. However, Melisandre is not the only character who can live for hundreds of years — and in the books she’s not the only one who can use a magical “glamor” to change her appearance, either.

How ‘House of the Dragon’s Alys Could Be ‘Game of Thrones’ Leaf

Kae Alexander as Leaf in Game of Thrones, sitting among a tangle of Weirwood roots.
Kae Alexander as Leaf in Game of Thrones, sitting among a tangle of Weirwood roots.
Image via HBO

Leaf is the only Child of the Forest character with dialogue in Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire. She meets Bran and his friends in Season 4 and helps hold back the wights as they all scramble into the cave where Bran will learn to become a Greenseer. However, the book version of this character tells us quite a bit more about herself. In a conversation with Bran, she explains that she was “born in the time of the dragon” — presumably meaning the time when House Targaryen ruled Westeros. She continues: “For two hundred years I walked the world of men to watch and listen and learn.”

It would not be easy for a Child of the Forest to go unnoticed among humans — Leaf is described as humanoid, but child-sized, with only three fingers and a thumb on each hand, and black claws instead of fingernails. Her skin is dappled brown, her ears are larger than a human’s, and her eyes are large, green and gold colored, with slitted pupils like a cat. For Leaf to “walk the world of men,” she would need some kind of disguise — probably a magical one, like the enchanted ruby necklace that made Melisandre appear young and strong.

There is plenty of precedence for this in the book besides Melisandre’s ruby. For one thing, Melisandre is able to cast glamors on other people in the book. We also see Brynden Rivers — a.k.a. Bloodraven — use a glamor on himself in one of the Dunk & Egg novellas. I won’t give the details for fear of spoiling a future season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, but keep in mind that Bloodraven goes on to become the “Three-Eyed Crow,” Bran’s mentor in that cave. He and Leaf are co-conspirators on behalf of the old gods, so it’s reasonable to assume that if he can use glamors, so can she.

Their shared mission is also evidence for this theory that Leaf is Alys Rivers. In A Dance with Dragons, Leaf helps Bloodraven with Bran’s training. She is the one to prepare and administer the Weirwood seed paste that activates Bran’s powers, and she tells Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) that she speaks the common tongue “for the Bran boy.” We know Bloodraven has been orchestrating events to lead Bran north to his cave, and if Leaf is working towards the same goal, there’s no telling how long she’s been at it or how far she has gone.

Leaf Would Allow ‘House of the Dragon’ to Answer So Many Questions

If Alys turns out to be Leaf in disguise, it would solve a lot of mysteries left over from Game of Thrones. In fact, some critics would inevitably call it an attempt by HBO to rewrite the disappointing ending to the main series, adding more depth and magic to the final war against the White Walkers that many fans felt was glossed over. It would be sinister to find out that Leaf had knowingly instigated battles between dragons just to steer history on the correct path to bring Bran north at the right time, and finally kill the Others.

Sadly, this would also lead to more divergences between the books and TV shows. While the book version of Leaf said that she was born within the last 300 years, the TV version of the character was shown in a flashback helping to create the Night King himself thousands of years earlier. Even if Leaf’s “time of the dragon” meant that she was born while the Valyrian Freehold ruled Essos, that would be thousands of years too late to aid in the original creation of the White Walkers. This isn’t a point of continuity that HBO is likely to alter, either — the network shot a pilot for another Game of Thrones prequel series called Bloodmoon, which would have been about the original Long Night. Leaf would have appeared in that show, played by Doyin Ajiboye, but sadly it did not get a series order.

The Iron Throne is within reach. What do you do?

The Maester Has Spoken
Your House Is…
Advertisement

Your answers point to the great house whose words, values, and way of surviving in Westeros match your own. Bend the knee — or don’t. That’s very much up to you.

Winterfell · The North

🐺 House Stark

Winter is Coming — and you have always known it. You prepare not out of fear but out of duty, because the people who depend on you deserve someone who takes the long view.

  • You lead with honour even when it costs you, because you understand that a reputation built on integrity is the only one worth having.
  • Your loyalty to family and people runs deep — not as sentiment but as a code that doesn’t bend when things get difficult.
  • The North endures because Starks endure — not by being the cleverest players in the game, but by being the kind of people others are willing to follow into the cold.
  • You are that kind of person. The pack survives. The lone wolf dies. You already know which one you are.

Casterly Rock · The Westerlands

🦁 House Lannister

You understand the game — its rules, its exceptions, and exactly when the rules become the exception. You play it without illusions and without apology.

  • You are sharper than most people realise, and you have learned to use that gap to your advantage.
  • A Lannister always pays their debts — and you always keep your word, because your word is an instrument of power, and instruments must be kept in working order.
  • You love your family with a ferocity that sometimes blinds you, and you know it, and you do it anyway.
  • The lion doesn’t concern itself with the opinion of sheep. Neither, in the end, do you.

Dragonstone · The Iron Throne

🐉 House Targaryen

You carry a sense of destiny that is difficult to explain and impossible to ignore — the feeling that you are not simply participating in the world but meant to reshape it.

  • You are capable of extraordinary things, and you know it, and that knowledge is both your greatest strength and your most dangerous quality.
  • Fire and blood are not just words to you — they are a philosophy about what change requires and what it costs.
  • The Targaryens at their best were transformative rulers who broke chains and defied the limits of what anyone thought possible.
  • At your best, so are you. The dragon has three heads. You are one of them.

Storm’s End · The Stormlands

🦌 House Baratheon

You are a force — direct, powerful, and difficult to ignore when you enter a room or a conflict. You do not negotiate with challenges. You meet them.

  • Ours is the fury — and yours is a kind of intensity that commands attention, respect, and occasionally fear from those who underestimate what’s behind it.
  • You value strength and straight dealing. You’d rather know where you stand in a fight than navigate a web of courtly whispers.
  • The Baratheons built their house on the back of one of the greatest military victories in Westerosi history — and then struggled with what came after.
  • The lesson of your house is that winning is not the end of the story. Governing is. You are learning that too.

Highgarden · The Reach

🌹 House Tyrell

You understand that power does not always announce itself — that sometimes it arrives with flowers, good wine, and a smile that doesn’t quite reach the eyes.

  • Growing strong is your house’s motto, and you live it: patiently, strategically, always investing in the relationships and resources that will matter most when it counts.
  • You are charming by choice and calculating by nature — a combination that makes you one of the most effective players in any room you enter.
  • The Tyrells fed King’s Landing and shaped its politics without ever sitting on the Iron Throne — and they were arguably more powerful for it.
  • You know that the person who controls the food controls the kingdom. And you always know where the food is.

Still, Alys’ age already seems to be more in line with HBO’s timeline than that of the books. In a 2024 interview with Vulture, Rankin herself revealed that Alys is no ordinary mortal woman. She let slip that, as far as she understands it, Alys is about 400 years old. That would make her older than the completion of Harrenhal itself, as the castle was finished on the day Aegon the Conqueror first landed in Westeros.

House of the Dragon clearly has big plans for the magic of the old gods, and is willing to go where Game of Thrones did not. We’ve already had two sightings of the “Green Men,” along with more evocative dreams and visions caused by proximity to Weirwood trees. Alys is at the heart of all this action, and one way or another, we should expect more revelations about her background before the series ends. House of the Dragon Season 3 continues on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

Rihanna Seemingly Addresses Baby Rumors, Talks "Little Pouch"

With news of a ‘Cheetah Girls’ reboot officially making waves, fans have been reminiscing about the iconic Disney era and wondering who might return. But while many have been celebrating the announcement, Kiely Williams’ name started trending for an entirely different reason after a family member weighed in with some strong words for Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon, and more

Kiely Williams’ Sister Sounds Off On Reboot

Following the reboot news, an X user tweeted that Kiely Williams was an “underrated superstar” of both 3LW and ‘The Cheetah Girls,’ adding that the behind-the-scenes arguments during those years “must have been awful” for her not to return. Kiely’s sister then responded to the post, writing, “Raven and Adrienne are truly hateful b*****s. They are also 2 faced and liars. Sabrina will always be a ‘pick me.’ Kiely was the easy person to villainize since the 3LW so here we are. I believe in karma. They will get what is due they will have earned it.

The remarks quickly began making the rounds online, with fans revisiting the group’s history and reacting to the unexpected comments. At the time of publication, neither Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, nor Sabrina Bryan had publicly responded to the claims.

The Comment Section Clocked In For Overtime

Fans ran straight to The Shade Room’s Instagram comment section and absolutely tore it UP after the news dropped. Some argued that Kiely deserved a spot in the reboot, while others came armed with jokes for dayyysss, babyyyy, turning the comments into pure entertainment. A few even joked that she got left off ‘Bad and Boujee,’ and honestly, those comments had people cracking up.

One Instagram user @b.arbielai claimed, girl from what we’ve been hearing your sister was the issue in BOTH groups! 🥴”

This Instagram user @tnhayes22 said, They made no ‘promethis’ that she’d be in the reboot.”

And, Instagram user @mresq shared, Sounds like Kiely and her sister are reaping what they sowed based on how they treated Naturi…but I digress.”

Meanwhile, Instagram user @chellereneej commented, maybe because your sister said she slept with 3/4 of B2K out loud. IDK”

While Instagram user @_pettyking wrote, Kiely should’ve been apart of the Cheetah Girls reboot. Point, Blank, Period.”

Finally, Instagram user @unfriendlybaddiie said, Not she mad because Kiely was left off bad and boujee 😂”

So, What Sparked All Of This?

The Shade Room had fans in a frenzy after sharing the first official tease for ‘The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen.’ Raven-Symoné confirmed the long-awaited sequel with an Instagram video of herself strutting to ‘Strut’ from ‘The Cheetah Girls 2,’ captioning the post, “🐆 It’s happening, and it’s CHEETAHLISHIOUS!” The clip also featured on-screen text reading, “POV: strutting to the set of The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen,” instantly sending fans into detective mode over the cast.

While Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan, Lynn Whitfield, and Lori Alter are all set to return, Kiely Williams is notably absent from the announced lineup—a detail that quickly became the biggest topic in the comment section. The upcoming film follows Galleria and Chanel as they travel to Africa with Galleria’s daughter and three of her friends, where the group volunteers at a wildlife sanctuary and discovers the true Cheetah spirit along the way.

I’ve been on more planes than I can count — my frequent flier status has reached multi-platinum — yet I never check a bag, no matter how long the flight. I’ve become an expert at traveling for long stretches of time with just a carry-on. Trust me when I say you don’t need a ton of items for week-long vacations. In fact, as long as you have the following 15 items, which include dresses, tops, footwear and more, you’ll be good to go anywhere in the world and look stylish while doing so.

Keep reading to find the 15 fashion items I take on every trip. With these, you’ll see just how easy packing light can be.

Dresses

1. A Daytime Dress: A simple smocked midi, like this trendy gingham dress, can be worn while exploring and easily dressed up for fancier dinners. It’s a total no-brainer to pack.

2. A Little Dressier: Every vacation includes a night where you dress to the nines. This floral ruffled puff-sleeve dress is perfect for the occasion because it’s elegant, timeless, and will make you feel like your best self.

3. Lounge Around: When you’re relaxing at the hotel in between activities, stay comfortable in this casual t-shirt dress. Consider it your recharging outfit.

If you’ve ever packed for vacation and wished you had allowed more time to plan your outfit lineup — welcome to the club. Even as a shopping editor who has a pulse on the top fashion trends, I struggle to strategize my vacation outfits. This year, however, is going to be different as I’m honeymooning […]

Shirts

4. Ready to Go: Plain black or white t-shirts have their time, but on vacation I like to play with color. That’s why I pack a striped shirt, like this Polo Ralph Lauren design, that can be worn with shorts, jeans, skirts…anything really.

5. Tank It: Regardless of whether I’m traveling to the tropics or to Europe, a ribbed tank is a cornerstone piece of any travel wardrobe and works as a standalone shirt as well as a key layering item.

6. Packing Hero: Most button-downs immediately wrinkle in your bag — wrinkle-resistant fabrics have changed the game, especially this striped blouse, which I own in multiple colors.

Bottoms

7. Travel Savior: My flight uniform always includes these stretchy and soft 100% linen pants from Quince. Beyond keeping me comfortable while in transit, I find that they’re easy to style and wear at every destination.

8. Solid Denim: Jeans are one of the most versatile pieces you can pack. I refuse to travel without these low-rise Levi’s because they’re effortlessly stylish and help me look put together even when jet-lagged.

9. Vacay-Ready: Denim shorts might be the one item you reach for again and again during your trip. Selecting a pair that perfectly hugs your curves — like this affordable Walmart pick — is key to confidently dressing while traveling.

Shoes

10. Comfy Kicks: The number one thing you should pack for any trip? White sneakers. I prefer leather — like this footwear — because they’re easy to clean.

11. Sturdy Sandals: Some people like slides, but in my expert opinion, it’s always a good idea to pack sandals with adjustable straps to ensure they stay securely attached to your feet.

12. Simple Heels: For formal evenings, pack a reliable nude pair of heels that are easy to walk in. Kitten heels are always the best bet.

Swimsuits/Coverups

13. One for Fun: If you plan on spending time in the ocean doing rigorous activities, like snorkeling or jet skiing, pack a one-piece. The high cut leg holes on this slimming style make you look model tall.

14. Another for Lounge: Save the two pieces and bikinis for some lounging in the sun. I like how this one offers tummy control without being too high-waisted.

15. Cover It Up: The best coverups are useful beyond the pool or beach. I opt for crocheted designs that can double as a fun dress or top for nights out on the town.

Britney Spears Sparks Fears With Freeway Sunroof Stunt

Published

on

Britney Spears being arrested

Britney Spears is once again making headlines after a risky moment on a Southern California freeway left fans and onlookers stunned.

The pop icon was photographed standing through the sunroof of a moving SUV as it traveled along one of Los Angeles’ busiest highways, reigniting debate over her safety just months after resolving a high-profile reckless driving case that placed renewed attention on her personal life.

Drivers on the 101 Freeway near Studio City were treated to an unexpected sight when Britney Spears emerged through the sunroof of a black Mercedes SUV while the vehicle continued moving in traffic.

Photos captured the singer standing upright with her upper body outside the vehicle, stretching both arms across the roof and leaning her head back as her hair blew in the wind.

Witnesses estimated she remained above the roofline for roughly two minutes before the SUV exited the freeway and later stopped at a nearby gas station.

The outing quickly sparked conversation online, particularly because Spears appeared completely relaxed throughout the drive.

Britney Spears Was Recreating Childhood Memories

According to a source quoted by the Daily Mail, the moment wasn’t intended to be dangerous.

“Britney just went through the sunroof for a quick moment, she wanted to see what the traffic was about up ahead because the cars came to a stop. She wanted to see how long they would be delayed,” the insider said.

The source added that the behavior reminded Spears of her childhood.

They explained, “She used to do this all the time as a kid growing up in the South, she loves having the warm wind blow through her hair in the summer, it’s fun. She is having a fun summer and is happy, she is in a good place. If it’s illegal to put your head through a sunroof, she doesn’t know it! She didn’t mean to do anything bad.”

Although the source insisted the moment was harmless, its timing has inevitably drawn additional attention.

In May, Britney Spears resolved her California driving case by pleading guilty to a reduced reckless driving charge, commonly known as a “wet reckless,” after initially facing allegations related to driving under the influence.

The plea allowed her to avoid jail beyond time already served during booking, but it came with probation, mandatory alcohol education classes, fines, and continued treatment requirements.

Authorities have yet to accuse Spears of breaking any laws during Thursday’s freeway outing, and there has been no indication that the incident has triggered any official investigation.

Still, the images have inevitably drawn comparisons because they arrived so soon after the legal case concluded.

Unlike that earlier incident, Spears wasn’t behind the wheel. She was riding as a passenger while a mystery driver, who has recently been linked to the singer romantically, remained behind the wheel.

Britney Spears Continues To Live Under An Intense Spotlight

Few celebrities have had their every public move dissected quite like Spears.

Since the end of her 13-year conservatorship in 2021, the Grammy winner has repeatedly emphasized her desire to reclaim control over her own life.

She has largely stepped away from recording and touring, instead sharing glimpses of her daily life through social media while also releasing her bestselling memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in 2023.

More recently, development has continued on Universal’s planned film adaptation of the memoir, keeping public interest in Spears as high as ever.

That intense attention means even relatively brief public appearances often become major entertainment stories.

For supporters, Thursday’s outing may simply represent another carefree moment from someone determined to enjoy life on her own terms.

However, for others, the images have raised questions about whether unnecessary risks are being taken, particularly given the singer’s recent legal history.

Safety Debate Returns As Fans React

Standing through a vehicle’s sunroof while it is moving has long been discouraged by road safety experts because sudden braking, collisions, or unexpected movements can easily throw passengers off balance.

While Spears’ representative has not commented on the freeway incident, the images quickly fueled discussion across social media, where reactions reflected the divided public perception that has surrounded the singer for years.

Some fans defended the outing as harmless fun because traffic had reportedly slowed significantly, while others questioned whether the stunt unnecessarily put her safety at risk.

One supporter on Reddit wrote, “What exactly is horrifying I don’t get it. She wasn’t driving,” while a second person slammed the continuous media attention on Spears, writing, “Was she driving and out the sun roof at the same time? I don’t get why this is a big deal? If anything this continues to prove that media will literally write about any little thing she does.”

Meanwhile, a critic wrote, “For those who don’t know, it’s illegal to do this,” while another added, “Be serious she’s on the roof of a moving vehicle… that’s dangerous and could seriously hurt her if she fell off.”

That split reaction has become familiar whenever Spears appears in public. Unlike many celebrities whose outings pass with little notice, nearly every candid photograph or video involving the pop star becomes the subject of widespread debate, shaped as much by her past as by the moment itself.

5 Greatest Tilda Swinton Movies That Define Her Career

Published

on

Emma Recchi at a dinner table looking to her right in I Am Love 2009

Tilda Swinton has one of those careers where the usual actor labels stop helping. Lead, supporting, villain, muse, shapeshifter, arthouse icon, prestige weapon; she has touched all of those lanes and still feels bigger than the category. Her screen presence can be icy, funny, wounded, alien, romantic, maternal, cruel, or completely unreadable, sometimes inside the same film.

These five movies are the ones that show why Swinton became such a rare figure in modern cinema. And although her central yet relatively brief role in Doctor Strange is where younger generations got to see her, there’s so much diversity to her. Let’s get started.

‘I Am Love’ (2009)

Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love is built around Emma Recchi (Tilda Swinton), a Russian woman who has married into an old Milanese family whose wealth, rituals, meals, rooms, and manners all feel arranged to keep everyone in place. Swinton learned Italian and Russian for the role, and that commitment matters because Emma feels like someone who has lived inside refinement for so long that even desire arrives as a shock to her body. The movie begins inside family order, then slowly becomes a story about appetite, identity, and the terrifying cost of wanting a life that belongs to you.

The romance with Antonio Biscaglia (Edoardo Gabbriellini) changes the temperature of everything. Food, touch, sunlight, fabric, and silence start carrying more force than the family’s formal conversations. Swinton gives Emma a kind of emotional awakening that feels dangerous before anyone calls it scandalous. I Am Love earns its masterpiece status through that collision: a woman rediscovering herself inside a world designed to turn her into decoration.

‘Orlando’ (1992)

Queen Elizabeth I (Quentin Crisp ) speaks privately with Orlando (Tilda Swinton)

Orlando is the kind of film that could collapse instantly if the central performance felt even slightly unsure. The story begins in the Elizabethan era and follows Orlando (Tilda Swinton) across centuries, through love, inheritance, poetry, war, social expectation, and a change in sex that the film treats with elegance instead of cheap shock. Swinton carries the whole impossible idea so well in her role, as if time itself is just another room she has learned how to walk through.

What makes Orlando so classic is the strange balance between playfulness and pain. The film has wit, beauty, costumes, direct address, and that crisp Sally Potter control, yet underneath it sits a brutal question about who gets freedom and who gets trapped by the rules of gender, property, and power. Swinton lets Orlando feel curious before anything else. That curiosity keeps the film alive across every era and makes Orlando more than a bold literary adaptation. It feels like a person trying to stay intact while history keeps changing the terms of existence.

‘Only Lovers Left Alive’ (2013)

Only Lovers Left Alive, Adam and Eve, tom hiddleston and Tilda Swinton

Image via Recorded Picture Company

Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive turns vampires into exhausted artists who have watched humanity keep ruining the world and still cannot fully detach from its beauty. Swinton’s Eve (Tilda Swinton) lives with books, music, memory, and a patience that feels ancient without becoming stiff. Across from Adam (Tom Hiddleston), she gives the film one of the coolest screen relationships of the 2010s: two lovers who have survived centuries and still need each other like a private language.

The genius is how little the movie cares about vampire spectacle in the usual sense. Blood matters, danger exists, and Ava (Mia Wasikowska) brings chaos into their careful existence, but the deeper pull comes from mood, taste, and survival as an aesthetic choice. Swinton’s Eve has warmth, humor, intelligence, and that gorgeous sadness of someone who has seen too much and still believes in art. Only Lovers Left Alive is a classic because it understands immortality as romance, boredom, grief, and curation. Being alive forever would be unbearable without something worth loving.

The Academy Has Decided
Your Perfect Film Is…

Your answers have pointed to one Oscar Best Picture winner above all others. This is the film that was made for the way your mind works.

Parasite

You are drawn to films that operate on multiple levels simultaneously — that begin in one genre and quietly, brilliantly migrate into another. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is a film about class, desire, and the architecture of inequality that manages to be darkly funny, deeply suspenseful, and genuinely shocking across a single extraordinary running time. Your instinct is for cinema that hides its true intentions until the moment it’s ready to reveal them. Parasite is exactly that — a film that rewards close attention and punishes assumptions, right up to its devastating final image.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You want it all — and this film gives you all of it. The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the most maximalist films ever made: action comedy, multiverse sci-fi, family drama, existential crisis, and a genuinely earned emotional core that sneaks up on you amid the chaos. You are someone who responds to ambition, who doesn’t want cinema to choose between being entertaining and being meaningful. This film refuses that choice entirely. It is overwhelming by design, and its overwhelming nature is precisely the point — because the feeling of being crushed by infinite possibility is exactly what it’s about.

Oppenheimer

You are drawn to cinema on a grand scale — films that understand history not as a backdrop but as a force, and that place their characters inside that force and watch what happens. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a film about the terrifying gap between what we can do and what we should do, told with the full weight of one of the most consequential moments in human history behind it. You want your films to feel important without feeling self-important — to earn their ambition through sheer craft and the gravity of their subject. Oppenheimer does exactly that. It is enormous, complicated, and refuses easy comfort.

Birdman

You are drawn to films that foreground their own construction — that make the how of the filmmaking part of the what it’s about. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, shot to appear as a single continuous take, is cinema examining itself through the cracked mirror of a fading actor’s ego. You respond to formal daring, to the feeling that a film is doing something that probably shouldn’t be possible. Michael Keaton’s performance and Emmanuel Lubezki’s restless camera create something genuinely unlike anything else — a film that is simultaneously about creativity, relevance, self-destruction, and the impossibility of ever truly knowing if your work means anything at all.

No Country for Old Men

You are drawn to cinema that trusts silence, that refuses to explain itself, and that treats dread as a form of meaning. The Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men is a film about the arrival of a new kind of evil — implacable, arbitrary, and utterly indifferent to the moral frameworks we use to make sense of the world. It is one of the most formally controlled films ever made, and its controlled restraint is what makes it so terrifying. You want your films to haunt you, not comfort you. You are not interested in resolution if resolution would be dishonest. No Country for Old Men is honest in a way that most cinema never dares to be.

‘Michael Clayton’ (2007)

Karen Crowder on the phone in Michael Clayton Image Via Warner Bros. Pictures

Michael Clayton is a legal thriller about rot inside powerful institutions, and Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinton) is one of its sharpest creations. Swinton turns a corporate attorney into a portrait of panic wearing professional clothes. Karen has the title, the language, the boardroom fluency, and the job of protecting U-North from a disaster involving a dangerous agrochemical. She also has sweat, insomnia, rehearsal notes, bathroom breakdowns, and a moral collapse she keeps trying to package as responsibility.

That tension makes the character unforgettable. Karen is competent enough to scare people, frightened enough to make terrible choices, and ambitious enough to cross lines she cannot uncross. Swinton won an Oscar for it and when you watch this film, it feels completely earned because every scene shows the violence of corporate life without needing a gun in the room. Michael Clayton (George Clooney) moves through the film as a fixer who knows the system is poisoned. Karen shows what happens to someone still trying to survive inside that poison. Michael Clayton is a masterpiece of pressure, and Swinton turns fear into one of its most dangerous forces.

‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ (2011)

Eva leaning against a supermarket aisle while looking pensive in We Need to Talk About Kevin Image via Oscilloscope Laboratories

We Need to Talk About Kevin is a nightmare about motherhood, memory, guilt, and the impossible question of what a parent is supposed to know before catastrophe becomes history. Eva Khatchadourian (Tilda Swinton) lives after her son Kevin Khatchadourian (Ezra Miller) has committed a school massacre, and the film keeps moving through the past like a wound that refuses to close. Every scene carries the awful pressure of hindsight. Every small cruelty, every cold stare, every failed attempt at connection feels poisoned by what is coming.

Swinton is devastating here. Eva loves, resents, fears, studies, and rejects motherhood in ways cinema rarely allows without punishment or simplification. Kevin’s behavior as a child and teenager becomes a private war inside the family, while the outside world sees Eva through blame and disgust after the massacre. The red paint on her house, the public hatred, the memories of Franklin Plaskett (John C. Reilly) and Celia Khatchadourian (Ashley Gerasimovich), the visits to Kevin in prison; all of it piles onto her like a life sentence. This is Swinton’s greatest masterpiece because she turns guilt into something you can almost feel under your skin.

The Rhode Island Community Food Bank also took to Instagram to thank the happy couple for a million-dollar donation. “In honor of their upcoming nuptials, @taylorswift and @killatrav made an extraordinary donation of $1 million to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank!” they wrote.

“We were THRILLED to learn of this unexpected gift, which comes at a time when the need for food assistance in our state is at an all-time high,” they continued. “Every dollar of this generous donation will be put to work to source food for distribution across our statewide network of 137 member agencies.

Food Bank CEO, Melissa Cherney, shared, “Gifts like this are a powerful reminder of the good we can do with the support of our community. This act of generosity shows that, together, we can meet this moment and truly eliminate hunger in our state.”

The organization went on to wish the couple “a happy wedding weekend and extend our boundless appreciation!”
