Some summer dresses look cute on the hanger, but end up overwhelming my petite frame the second I put them on. They’re either too long, too boxy or hit at an awkward spot that throws off the entire silhouette. That’s why finding an easy throw-on-and-go dress that actually flatters can feel surprisingly difficult.

That’s exactly why I’m so impressed with the Wiholl V-Neck Babydoll Dress. The bestselling Amazon style costs just $13, has earned more than 500 five-star ratings and, most importantly, hits at the perfect length for my 5’3″ frame. Instead of swallowing me up, it skims over the tummy, feels lightweight for summer and strikes that rare balance between comfortable and flattering.

The secret is the relaxed babydoll silhouette. I love that it features a V-neckline, short sleeves and two roomy side pockets that are large enough to hold essentials like my phone and keys. The fabric is soft, lightweight and stretchy, making it an easy choice for everything from errands to weekend plans.

Finding a summer dress that’s comfortable, flattering and easy to wear is harder than it should be. Too often, breezy dresses look shapeless, while fitted styles cling in all the wrong places. That’s why shoppers can’t stop talking about one flowy Amazon maxi that reviewers say hides the “mom pooch” and earns “many compliments.” The […]

I’m clearly not the only fan. One reviewer, who described herself as “short” and “round,” said the cut helps “hide the roundness” and noted that dresses don’t usually look flattering on her — but this one does. She also praised the material for being “soft and stretchy.”

Another buyer called it “a good summer dress for a lightweight outfit,” adding that it’s “slightly shaped” and gives you some shape “without clinging to your body.” I completely understand the appeal, especially since that combination of comfort and subtle shaping is exactly what makes the dress feel so effortless to wear.

I can easily see myself pairing it with sneakers for errands or styling it with sandals and gold jewelry for dinner. The black-and-leopard version is my favorite, but it also comes in dozens of other prints and solid colors, plus sizes XS through 3X. One shopper who bought it as a gift said her mom loved that it was “flattering around the waist” and comfortable enough for daytime while still being easy to dress up for night — and at just $13, I’m tempted to grab more than one.

Most Hated Fast And Furious Movie Is A Streaming Megahit On Peacock

By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

The Fast and The Furious was an immediate hit when it drove into theaters, and suddenly Vin Diesel was a star. Sci-fi fans knew he was incredible in Pitch Black, but that could never compare to the mainstream success he found alongside Paul Walker. Then 2 Fast 2 Furious happened without Diesel, and then fans were up in arms when the third film, Tokyo Drift had no Walker and no Diesel. Removed from the crushing wave of disappointment in 2006, Tokyo Drift is now one of the better-regarded movies in the franchise, helped, of course, by the choice to make Han (Sung Kang) one of the most important characters in the series.

Tokyo Drift Is Unlike Anything Else

The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift starts off with Lucas Black as the world’s oldest high school student, Sean, racing against Home Improvement star Zachary Ty Bryan, getting in trouble, and being sent to live with his military dad in Tokyo. Dropped into a culture he can’t understand, Sean at least knows cars, and finds his way into the city’s underground racing scene. The problem is that instead of living life a quarter mile at a time, the Japanese style focuses on drifting, oversteering into corners but remaining in complete control. It’s also, as audiences discovered, one of the coolest-looking driving techniques.

Han and another American student, Twinkie (Bow Wow) take Sean under their wing and teach him all about Japanese car culture. Along the way, he wins over Neela (Nathalie Kelley) and becomes the mortal enemy to her boyfriend, Takashi (Chicago Med’s Brian Tee), ending up in a “loser leaves town” race after Han’s tragic death (which is later retconned, and then retconned a second time). Tokyo Drift lacks the wild stunts and insane plot of later Fast and Furious films, but it puts the focus on what brought people to the series in the first place: street racing.

Tokyo Drift turns drifting into a cinematic experience, and the one time Neela is shown behind the wheel of her car, it’s a gorgeous sequence of multiple cars moving in time like a choreographed dance at 60 miles per hour. These aren’t the muscle cars of the first two films, instead, it’s a lineup of Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Mazda modified cars. Everything about Tokyo Drift, including the soundtrack featuring the Teriyaki Boyz is different from every other entry in the long-running franchise.

From Most Hated To One Of The Most Beloved

That’s likely why the movie has aged so well. In 2006, it made only $159 million, falling just short of double the production budget, which would, in normal times, make it a success. Back then, the lack of Diesel and Walker made it dead on arrival to the fans of the first two films. Vin Diesel’s cameo at the end though, gave fans hope for the future and helped re-establish Fast and Furious with the fourth movie, marketed as “New Movie. Original Parts.”

The fate of the franchise is up in the air following the lackluster reception to Fast X and the cliffhanger ending. At least fans were able to see Sean and Twinkie again in F9, as they launched Tyrese and Ludacris into space.

Today, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is one of the top five streaming movies on Peacock. Proving that no matter how a movie is received when it hits theaters, good films eventually get the recognition they deserve.

More On The  Assault & Cheating Claims From His Wife, Alicia Brown

As The Shade Room previously reported, Big Tigger landed in headlines earlier this month. At the time, his wife had taken to social media to seemingly accuse him of assaulting her and to allege he was having an affair with his radio co-host, Francesca Amiker.

Amiker denied the allegations. Then, claims surfaced alleging Brown had a child neglect history and a missing daughter.

Then, reports alleged Big Tigger had been identified as a suspect of assault in an investigation involving Brown. The report alleged that incident happened in May. However, it remains unclear whether the report was related the footage Brown had shared of herself.

More recently, Big Tigger had released a statement denying the claims against him, while Francesca Amiker denied the cheating allegations. Additionally, at that time, Alicia Brown denied ever alleging her husband was an abuser.

West Channel Rd. Designer Tatiana Dieteman on Her Knitwear Line Made for Morning to Midnight

West Channel Rd. Designer Tatiana Dieteman on Her Knitwear Line Made for Morning to Midnight

If your ideal outfit is something you can throw on in the morning and still wear at midnight, Tatiana Dieteman gets it.

The West Channel Rd. founder built her brand around that exact energy, filled with knitwear that looks chic without asking you to try too hard.

Dieteman, a former model, launched the line in 2022 after teaching herself to crochet in 2020, initially creating pieces for herself before word (and demand) spread.

Tatiana Dieteman/Instagram

“Knitting started as something very personal for me. It felt meditative, tactile, and grounding,” she tells ET. “I began making pieces for myself, and quickly friends and family started asking for them as well.”

After years in front of the camera, Dieteman developed a sharp instinct for how clothes should fit and she brought that into her own designs.

“Modeling expanded my understanding of personal style in a very hands-on way. I was constantly stepping into different designers’ worlds, learning how clothing can shift depending on how it’s worn, styled, and carried,” she explains.

Tatiana Dieteman/Instagram

“It made me deeply aware that how something feels on your body is just as important as how it looks. You can tell when a piece has integrity and when it moves with you and feels considered.”

The result? One-of-a-kind wardrobe staples you’ll want to live in.

“I learned to play, experiment, and embrace contrast,” she says. “The shapes, textures, and even the imperfections all feel intentional. Every decision has a reason behind it.”

Tatiana Dieteman/Instagram

To keep things extra special, Dieteman releases her collections in limited runs, so everything is a little more personal, and a lot less everywhere.

“When something isn’t mass produced, it holds a different kind of value, not just materially, but emotionally. People tend to hold onto those pieces longer and wear them more intentionally.”

Her references are just as thoughtful: “I find inspiration in art, architecture, nature, and vintage objects. I’m especially drawn to old films and directors like Sofia Coppola and Wes Anderson. Artists like Josef Albers and Georgia O’Keefe have also shaped how I think about form and color.”

True to her brand’s philosophy, the California native favors effortless styling, choosing pieces that move with you all day long.

“Day-to-day, I like to keep things very undone, with a knit thrown over bare skin, worn with something simple like trousers or denim,” she shares. “For a more dressed up moment, I’ll keep the softness of the knit, but pair it with something sharper or more structured.”

The Best Vampire Movie Is A Stephen King Classic Being Kept Away From Modern Audiences

The Best Vampire Movie Is A Stephen King Classic Being Kept Away From Modern Audiences

By Brian Myers
| Published

Not only have Stephen King’s novels and short stories thrilled fans for decades, but the screen adaptations of his massive body of work have also been the stuff that nightmares are made of. Whether it’s the possessed car Christine killing teenagers or the horrifying clown Pennywise stalking and murdering children, the transposition of King’s words onto theater screens has made some of the greatest entries in horror.

Perhaps his most terrifying adaptation was the 1979 made-for-TV miniseries Salem’s Lot, a saga that should be viewed by horror fans but is sadly no longer available to stream for free.

Shockingly, It’s Set In Maine

Salem's Lot 1979

Salem’s Lot follows novelist Ben Mears (David Soul) as he arrives back in the small Maine town that he grew up in. Ben finds himself drawn to the Marsten House, an old mansion on the edge of town that has seen unspeakable horrors happen within its walls over the years.

Coinciding with Ben’s arrival is the appearance of Richard Straker (James Mason), an older man who has moved into the Marsten House and plans and is preparing to open an antique store downtown with his unseen partner Kurt Barlow (Reggie Nalder).

Salem’s Lot Is Filled With Creepy Moments

Salem's Lot 1979

As Salem’s Lot unfolds, several school children begin to disappear. First, it’s Ralphie Glick (Ronnie Scribner), who is attacked and swept away as he and his older brother Danny (Brad Savage) are walking home from their friend Mark’s house one evening. Little Ralphie soon returns, however. Danny is awakened in the middle of the night by the sound of scratching on his bedroom window and sees that his missing brother is floating in a fog on the other side of the glass.

Under a hypnotic spell, Danny opens the window and lets his younger sibling float into the room and partially drain him of blood. When Danny is hospitalized, Ralphie visits him again outside his hospital room window and is let in to finish the job. Salem’s Lot sees other members of the small town become weary and eventually die of a mysterious illness.

Salem's Lot 1979

Mears feels that the Marsten House is connected to the disappearances and the deaths and that Straker and the yet-to-be-introduced Barlow are somehow behind it all. Salem’s Lot builds a comradery between Mears, teenage Mark Petrie (Lance Kerwin), and Mears’ friend Jason Burke (Lew Ayers), who come face to face with the face of evil that the Marsten House is hiding.

From The Director Of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Salem's Lot 1979

Salem’s Lot uses the masterful direction of Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) and the chilling score of Harry Sukman to generate a film that checks all the boxes for a great horror movie. Even before audiences first lay eyes on one of the bloodsuckers, the tension builds to a fever pitch that never plateaus. If the floating vampire children aren’t enough to generate nightmares, the sudden appearance of Barlow is likely the greatest jump-scare in made-for-TV horror history.

Though low on production dollars, Hooper was able to give audiences realistic sets (particularly the Marsten House), incredible acting performances from the stars, and some of the most terrifying vampires ever to float on a television screen.

Salem's Lot 1979

A 2006 remake was produced for TNT and starred Rob Lowe. While a good production, it pales in comparison to the original. The theatrical remake that was set to be released in 2023 by Paramount was indefinitely shelved before being sold to Max for a release later in 2024.

You won’t find the original Salem’s Lot streaming for free on any streaming platform. However, curious horror fans can still find it on-demand through YouTube and Apple TV+.
