“I’d always be like, ‘Oh, this fit doesn’t work,’” she says. “‘I don’t have the support I want. The straps are digging into my shoulders or it’s kind of itchy and riding up,’” she explained. “I started a whole Pinterest board of thousands of photos of inspiration, and I [thought], ‘I should actually do this.’ And we put it together.”

After Paul avoided charges in her domestic violence case with ex Dakota Mortensen, news followed about the future of the show.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the “Mormon Wives” production team is letting Taylor Frankie Paul take the lead on when (and in what capacity) she wants to return to the show.

An inside source close to Paul also revealed to the outlet that production remains supportive of Paul and is ready to film with her at her own pace “if and when she is ready.”

Shortly after the annual event meant to celebrate the first amendment began on Saturday, a gunman attempted to charge the ballroom. The 31-year-old shooter, armed with a shotgun, handgun and multiple knives, was apprehended before he could enter. One Secret Service Agent was shot, but his ballistic vest protected him and he was later released from the hospital.

No one else was harmed during the incident.

The president, first lady and members of the Trump administration were all quickly evacuated from the building. The rest of the event was canceled.

“It was incredibly surreal,” Pearlman said on Sunday of the moment Secret Service agents tackled the president in an attempt to remove him from the premises. “I kind of get down on all fours facing left, stage left. They rush across to get POTUS and the president gets taken down by Secret Service — and we don’t know what’s going on — and he came down.”

He added, “You can look at the video — I don’t know the distance, but less than afoot from me — I’ll never forget the image for my whole life because I’m on all fours, turn like this, they bring the president down directly in front of me and we just look at each other for about two seconds.”

At that moment, Pearlman told CNN he thought his life was going to come to an end.

“And my mind — obviously this is a huge adrenaline — was just like, ‘Oh no, are we about to die?’ Because I thought it was about to explode,” Pearlman said. “I thought… that really was my instinct.”

The performer continued, “Then I heard what sounded like I thought were shots and at that point my mind shifted. I also wasn’t sure if [Trump] was hurt — they pick him up, kind of, and they go out and then we’re on all fours.”

At that point, Pearlman said he “army crawled” off the stage for fear that if he stood up he would be shot.

“We didn’t want to stand up because I didn’t want to get hit,” he explained.

On Sunday, acting attorney general Todd Blanche told multiple media outlets that the ongoing investigation has already revealed that the shooter — an engineer and part-time teacher — was targeting Trump and top Trump administration officials.

President Trump was truly fearless, but as he said last night, this political violence needs to end.”

The post, which captured Leavitt seated beside Vice President JD Vance in the White House Oval Office, concluded, “Thank you to law enforcement for keeping all of us safe, including the brave agent who took a bullet to the chest and immediately moved to neutralize the shooter. Pray for our country.”

Washington D.C. law enforcement officials confirmed that a 31-year-old man from California was apprehended as a result of the shooting incident on Saturday, April 25. He has been charged with two counts of using a firearm and one count of assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon. The suspect’s motives and condition remain unknown.

“In the back of my head I thought, you know, jokingly thinking, ‘That kind of sounds like gunshots.’ But that wasn’t necessarily confirmed,” Levi continued. “It could have been some things in the hallway, some tables that were falling, that were banging down. I don’t know.”

The actor added, “The next thing we saw, everybody started to turn and drop. There was commotion. Everybody started to kind of hide under tables and the Secret Service were pouring in and trying to get to anyone of importance — anyone in the administration, any legislators, including the president. They were getting them all out of there as quickly as they could.”

Shortly after Saturday’s annual event celebrating freedom of the press started, a 31-year-old gunman rushed a security checkpoint. Gunfire was exchanged before the alleged shooter — reportedly armed with a shotgun, handgun and multiple knives — was apprehended. One Secret Service agent was shot in the chest, but his ballistic vest saved his life and he was later released from the hospital and reportedly sent home.

President Donald Trump, first lady Melania Trump, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Cheryl Hines, as well as other members of Trump’s administration and various lawmakers were promptly evacuated from the premises.

No one else was harmed during the incident. The gunman, who wrote an alleged manifesto in which he detailed his desire to harm Trump and top members of his cabinet, is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on Monday, April 27. He is said to be facing multiple charges.

“Then everything seemed to calm down,” Levi continued on Saturday of his experience. “Everyone started popping up from the tables — we didn’t know what was going on. And we just recently were told they are going to continue with the dinner with some updates soon. I don’t know, it’s very confusing because if it was an actual active live shooting then I don’t know why we would necessarily be continuing with the dinner.”

While president Trump and members of the White House Correspondents’ Administration initially wanted the event to continue, safety concerns required the rest of the event be canceled. The president has claimed it will be rescheduled within 30 days.

While speaking to members of the press in an impromptu White House press briefing after the shooting, the president praised the first lady for her calm under pressure after she was seen visibly shaken by the sound of the gunshots.

“I want to thank the first lady, that was a rather traumatic experience for her,” he said. “We’re not going to let anybody take over our society, we’re not going to cancel things out … we can’t do that. We wanted to stay tonight, I fought like hell to stay, but it was protocol … there was a lot of action going on.”

Dancing With the Stars Val Chmerkovskiy is opening up about who he does — and doesn’t — want to see compete on the show.

“Less politicians,” Chmerkovskiy exclusively told Us Weekly on Saturday, April 25, while attending Jennie Garth and iHeartPodcast’s “I Choose Me” live summit at the iHeartRadio Theatre in Burbank, California.

“One of the things I admire about our show, I love being a part of the fact that in a world quite literally designed to split us all apart and create agony amongst people, we’re a show that creates union and brings people together,” the professional dancer continued. “Yes, it’s just a dance show, but it’s way more than just a dance show.”

Chmerkovskiy added, “Dance is just a vehicle to bring people together — of all ages, all political sides. No one knows who’s voting for who, and we’re all just enjoying ourselves and enjoying two hours a week of just good family fun.”

Dancing With the Stars has invited plenty of controversial political figures to compete over the years, including former Texas Governor Rick Perry, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

“My reaction was like, ‘Yo, Sean Spicer’s on the cast!’ That was my reaction calling my brother,” Chmerkovskiy told People in September 2019 after the former Trump administration official was cast in Season 28 of the reality competition show.

“But then in the same breath, it’s like, and so is Ray Lewis and so is Lamar Odom and so is Christie Brinkley and so is Hannah [Brown],” he continued. “The thing that makes our show unique and wild and crazy and entertaining is the fact that it’s a collective of all these different people. And you don’t have to agree or follow all these people.”

He added at the time, “They’re all very different. And the beauty, me being a dance ambassador, is — what I find a lot of pride in is how inclusive dance is and that it doesn’t judge based on any of the past.”

Evan Rachel Wood has spoken again about her past romance with Marilyn Manson, describing feelings of powerlessness, guilt, and confusion that she says plagued their relationship.

The actress alleges emotional and sexual abuse, while the singer has denied all claims made against him.

The long-running dispute also included a defamation lawsuit Marilyn Manson later filed against Evan Rachel Wood, which was withdrawn in 2024 after he paid the legal costs.

Evan Rachel Wood recently got candid about her relationship with Manson and how she came to feel powerless during the time they were together.

In a recent interview with The Times, the 38-year-old actress shared that she struggled for years with guilt and confusion over the way she says she was treated.

According to Wood, those feelings became so overwhelming that she began to believe she somehow deserved what was happening.

“I accepted my powerlessness and felt I deserved it somehow,” she told the publication.

She described the environment around Manson as having a “cult-like” dynamic, which she says made it “twice as hard to leave and twice as scary to speak out.”

Wood noted that her story reflects a broader issue many survivors face, feeling unheard or dismissed, drawing comparisons to cases like the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, where, she suggested, evidence alone did not always lead to accountability.

“Every survivor I know was like, yeah, welcome to the party. Now you’re seeing what we have seen,” she added.

The Actress Said Marilyn Manson Knew That She ‘Felt Lonely’

Wood also reflected on how their relationship began, noting she was 18 at the time and that he initially made her feel seen before he began to “exploit” her loneliness.

“He saw that I felt lonely and unseen and started to exploit that, saying, ‘This is special. This is different. We’re supposed to be together,’” the actress shared.

Wood first publicly accused Manson in 2021, alleging sexual assault and emotional abuse during their relationship, which lasted from 2006 to 2010.

Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, has consistently denied the allegations.

He later responded by filing a lawsuit against Wood, claiming that she had taken part in a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation by portraying him as “a rapist and abuser” and undermining his career.

The dispute between Manson and Wood shifted in 2024 when he withdrew his lawsuit and, following a judge’s ruling, covered her legal costs totaling about $327,000.

Marilyn Manson Claimed He Dropped His Defamation Lawsuit Against Wood To ‘Close’ That Chapter Of His Life

In November 2024, attorney Howard King, representing Manson, said his client chose to end the legal fight after several years, describing the move as a way to finally “close the door on this chapter of his life.”

Meanwhile, Wood’s legal team said the musician had previously tried to settle the case while his appeal was ongoing.

According to the team, the proposal required Wood to agree to a joint public statement and strict confidentiality terms in exchange for partial payment of her legal costs, an offer she declined.

They added that Manson ultimately paid the actress’s full legal expenses and withdrew the lawsuit entirely.

Evan Rachel Wood Called The Defamation Suit A ‘Publicity Stunt’

A representative for Wood characterized the original lawsuit as a “publicity stunt to try to undermine the credibility of his many accusers and revive his faltering career.”

They argued that the court’s findings and his decision to drop the case while covering nearly $327,000 in legal fees reinforced that view.

The lawsuit itself had been filed in March 2022, shortly before the release of Wood’s HBO documentary “Phoenix Rising,” where she detailed allegations of sexual assault and emotional abuse during their relationship from 2006 to 2010.

Following the documentary, several other women came forward with accusations against Manson, including Esmé Bianco and former assistant Ashley Walters.

Judge Reinstates Ashley Walters’ Lawsuit Against Marilyn Manson Under New Sexual Assault Law

Separately, in January, a Los Angeles judge allowed a previously dismissed lawsuit filed by Walters to move forward under a law that temporarily reopens expired sexual assault claims.

The case had initially been dismissed for falling outside the standard legal time limit, but was reconsidered after the introduction of the new statute.

According to The Guardian, Steve Cochran, the judge who had previously dismissed the case, ruled that the updated law could revive the claim. Walters alleges that she was sexually assaulted while working for Manson between 2010 and 2011 and has also made additional claims about his behavior during that period.

The lawsuit, originally filed in May 2021 by former assistant Ashley Walters, had been thrown out the previous December after exceeding the usual legal time limit for such cases. However, Walters petitioned the court to revisit the decision once a new law introduced a temporary two-year window allowing expired claims to be reconsidered.

Manson’s attorney, Howard King, has disputed the allegations, arguing that the case does not meet the legal requirements under the revised statute and maintaining that his client did not commit any sexual assault.
