Matthew Lillard Reveals The Truth Behind Tatum’s Killer In ‘Scream’

Thirty years after “Scream” arrived in theaters, Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich still cannot settle one of the movie’s most fiercely debated mysteries. The actors, who played killers Stu Macher and Billy Loomis in Wes Craven’s 1996 slasher, were asked to reveal which character was wearing the Ghostface costume when Tatum Riley was killed. However, Ulrich explained that the answer was never established behind the scenes, and claimed even screenwriter Kevin Williamson does not know for certain.

The question arose during a 30th-anniversary “Scream” reunion panel at Midsummer Scream in Long Beach, California. Ulrich and Lillard appeared alongside several other figures from the original movie, including Jamie Kennedy, Joseph Whipp, stunt performer Lee Waddell and Ghostface voice actor Roger L. Jackson.

When asked whether Billy or Stu killed Tatum, Ulrich admitted that the cast and filmmakers never discussed who was beneath the costume.

“To be honest, not even [screenwriter] Kevin Williamson knows who killed [Tatum]. And he wrote the damn thing,” Ulrich told the audience, per The Wrap. “And we never discussed it. So, it’s really fan theory, which I think is great. But, I don’t know. No one knows.”

Matthew Lillard Has His Own Theory About Stu Macher

Although Ulrich maintained that no one knows who killed Tatum, Lillard revealed which explanation he has personally embraced. “I always say it’s because she said ‘no’ to going to prom,” he told the crowd, pointing to Stu as the killer because Tatum, played by Rose McGowan, was his girlfriend.

Earlier in the movie, Stu attempted to persuade Tatum to attend the school dance with him. Her rejection therefore gives his character a possible personal motive beyond the murder spree he was already carrying out with Billy.

However, Lillard did not claim that his interpretation had been confirmed by Williamson, Craven, or anyone else involved in creating the film.

Tatum Riley’s Garage Death Became A ‘Scream’ Standout

Tatum’s death remains one of the original movie’s most memorable sequences. While attending a house party, she entered the garage to retrieve beer before being confronted by Ghostface. After fighting back, Tatum attempted to escape through the pet door in the garage door. Ghostface activated the mechanism while she was trapped, causing the garage door to rise and kill her.

The revelation that both Billy and Stu had been operating as Ghostface made it difficult to determine which one committed each murder. Fans have since analyzed the characters’ locations, behavior, and possible motives in hopes of assigning the individual attacks.

Yet the Midsummer Scream panel confirmed that the filmmakers did not provide Lillard and Ulrich with a definitive division of responsibility. And that lack of an official answer has allowed Tatum’s death to remain one of the franchise’s enduring unanswered questions.

The ‘Scream’ Finale Required 21 Consecutive Night Shoots

The reunion panel also gave Lillard and Ulrich an opportunity to discuss the demanding process of filming the original movie’s extended finale. The climactic house-party sequence, commonly referred to as “Scene 118,” lasts approximately 42 minutes onscreen. According to the actors, completing it required 21 consecutive nights of filming.

“When you see the film, the energy that [he and I and Neve [Campbell] and everybody is producing, we had to do daily for all that time,” Ulrich recalled. “So, that sticks out to me as being most memorable. And fun, because I got to hit [Lillard] with a phone.”

Lillard agreed that the filming schedule made the finale particularly difficult. “We shot at night. So, we were living a nocturnal life,” he explained.

The production process also moved more slowly because the filmmakers did not have multiple cameras capturing each performance simultaneously. “And also, back then, we only had one camera … you would have to do a take on every angle, every set-up multiple times,” Lillard said. “So, that sequence is really brutal and stands out in my memory.”

Despite the grueling schedule, the finale became one of the franchise’s defining sequences, revealing Billy and Stu as the killers and establishing their chaotic partnership.

Matthew Lillard Previously Embraced Another Billy And Stu Theory

The uncertainty surrounding Tatum’s killer is not the only “Scream” question Lillard has been willing to leave in the hands of fans. At a previous convention, the actor discussed the long-running interpretation that Billy and Stu’s intense relationship included romantic or sexual subtext.

Lillard acknowledged that the idea was never discussed while the original movie was being filmed. However, he said he and Ulrich have since embraced the way audiences interpret the characters. “Here’s the reality, it was never discussed on the day, it was not an issue,” Lillard explained. “But I think that we both really love it and hold on to it now as it’s sort of grown in popularity, this thought that these two characters were gay.”

The actor referred to Billy and Stu as “for sure gay” and revealed that he and Ulrich now jokingly call themselves “the first husbands of horror.”

Lillard also argued that the theory belongs to the audience, meaning it does not require official confirmation to carry meaning for viewers. “The reason is that you can’t take it away, like, nobody can strip us of that belief,” he said. “And in the world we’re living in right now, like… live with it.”

In much the same way, the mystery surrounding Tatum’s killer remains open for audiences to interpret.

Sadie Sink Opens Up About Playing Jean Grey in the MCU

After months of speculation and Marvel secrecy, Sadie Sink can finally openly discuss becoming Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Stranger Things star made her debut as the iconic mutant in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, giving audiences their first look at a new Jean Grey who could eventually become one of the central characters in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Menreboot.

In a new interview with Variety, Sink discussed taking on a character who has been an important part of Marvel Comics for decades.

“She’s such an iconic figure in X-Men and in comics, and I’m very excited to bring my iteration of her to life.”

However, Brand New Day introduces Jean in a very different place than longtime X-Men fans might expect.

Rather than already being a member of the X-Men, Jean is presented as a young mutant struggling with her abilities and the circumstances surrounding her. Although she serves as an antagonist during portions of the movie, Sink says she never approached Jean as an actual villain.

“In this film, they told me that I was the villain, but that you’re not actually the villain, which is how I played her.”

Sink added that she didn’t want to give Jean a traditional villainous personality because Jean herself believes her actions are justified.

That distinction appears to be an important part of Marvel’s approach to the character. Instead of introducing Jean as the established superhero audiences previously saw portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner, Marvel has an opportunity to show how she eventually becomes that hero.

Famke Janssen, Sadie Sink, Sophie Turner

Sink explained that she viewed Jean primarily as a teenager dealing with pain and anger rather than someone who was inherently evil.

“She’s a young girl in pain.”

According to Sink, the plan was to avoid focusing on the “evil bits” and instead concentrate on Jean as an angry and hurt teenager.

That idea also connects directly to what Sink believes makes the X-Men different from many other superheroes.

“What makes the X-Men special is they are all incredibly flawed.”

Sink explained that mutants have to discover their own relationship with powers they never asked to have. Those abilities don’t necessarily make their lives easier and can instead make them considerably more difficult.

It’s an approach that could tell us quite a bit about the direction Marvel Studios intends to take with its new X-Men.

The mutants have traditionally worked best when their powers aren’t simply treated as abilities that allow them to become superheroes. Being a mutant is part of who these characters are, and learning to live with that identity has always been central to the franchise.

Jean Grey is particularly suited for that kind of story.

As one of Marvel’s most powerful telepaths and telekinetics, Jean has frequently struggled with abilities that can become overwhelming and, eventually, potentially catastrophic. Her comic book history with the Phoenix Force has made her one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe.

But Marvel doesn’t appear to be rushing toward that version of Jean.

Instead, Brand New Day gives Sink the opportunity to start much earlier in Jean’s life and potentially develop the character across several movies before exploring some of her biggest comic book storylines.

Sink also revealed that some of the first people she told about landing the role were Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things.

“The Duffers were some of the first few people I told.”

Sink said she wanted them to know what she would be doing after Stranger Things, and the brothers were excited about the opportunity. Their reaction carried additional weight for Sink because of their love for comics.

It’s easy to understand the excitement.

After spending years playing Max Mayfield in one of Netflix’s biggest franchises, Sink is moving directly into what could become another defining role, and potentially one that lasts for much of the next decade.

Marvel Studios is currently preparing its new X-Men movie with Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier set to helm the project. Sink’s introduction in Brand New Day now gives the MCU at least one major piece of that team before the movie arrives.

Jean Grey’s future could also introduce another important relationship.

Kit Connor has recently been reported as Marvel’s choice to play Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops. Jean and Scott have one of the most famous and complicated relationships in X-Men history, making the two characters natural candidates to become central figures in Marvel’s new mutant era.

For Sink, though, Jean’s imperfections may ultimately be what makes the character worth exploring.

Marvel has already had two cinematic versions of Jean Grey and has twice attempted to adapt the Dark Phoenix storyline. Simply repeating that journey would offer audiences little they haven’t already seen.

Starting with a younger, angry and emotionally overwhelmed Jean gives Marvel Studios something different: time.

Time to show Jean learning about her powers. Time to show her finding others like herself. Time to establish her relationship with the X-Men. And eventually, time to show how one of Marvel’s most powerful mutants becomes Jean Grey.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have introduced her as an antagonist, but if Marvel’s plans come together, Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey is only getting started.

Woman Disposed of Dementia Patient’s Body, Reported Missing

A Florida caregiver was arrested after she allegedly disposed of the body of her longtime friend with dementia hours before reporting her missing.

Lori Hamilton was charged with disturbing a dead body following the death of Brenda Corbin in Cape Coral, according to online records viewed by Us.

Hamilton, 60, reported Corbin, 58, missing on May 20, 2025, and she told investigators that she believed Corbin left her home on foot in the middle of the night, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit viewed by Law & Crime.

Hamilton had power of attorney over Corbin, who previously lived in an assisted living home.

A Florida daughter who helped her 97-year-old mother die by suicide allegedly told police she did so at the elderly woman’s request — and now she’s charged with first-degree murder. Police did not buy the story Martha Jo Blake, 66, was selling to them after her mother, Patricia Blake, died. Deputies with the Palm Beach […]

She reportedly checked Corbin out of the Tampa facility in early May 2025 so that she could attend a celebration of life for a mutual friend. However, Hamilton never brought Corbin back to the facility because Hamilton was not happy with the care they provided for her.

Instead, Hamilton set up a bedroom for Corbin in her home and became her primary caregiver.

After Hamilton reported Corbin missing, she told police that she believed Corbin was potentially with a man who “held her against her will for four days” years earlier. Hamilton did not share many details when speaking to authorities, including how she and Corbin spent the days leading up to her disappearance.

“Hamilton could not explain what she and Brenda had done over the weekend,” investigators wrote in the affidavit. “All she said was that they had gone out but did not remember where they went or what they did. Hamilton did not seem too concerned about Brenda’s disappearance.”

Just days after Corbin was reported missing, Hamilton asked for help moving furniture from her home in a Facebook post and she never mentioned that her longtime friend was missing. Police said that Hamilton also never made any phone calls or efforts to help find Corbin amid the missing person’s search.

Detectives spoke with Hamilton’s neighbors during the investigation, and they revealed that they had not seen Corbin recently. Meanwhile, doorbell camera footage did not capture anything on the night Corbin allegedly snuck out of the house.

Police later learned that license plate reader data from Hamilton’s pickup truck and location data on her phone located her in the Fort Myers and Punta Gorda areas in the early hours of May 19, 2025. She was located in the Babcock Ranch Preserve near the intersection of Bermont Road and Chiquita Drive in Punta Gorda around 3:30 a.m.

Florida authorities claim that they have arrested a 28-year-old man for the alleged role they alleged he played in the sexual assault and death of a 56-year-old woman, whose body was found on a beach in Hollywood the day after Christmas. Brandon Ward McCray‘s arrest was announced by police on Monday, January 5. But U.S. […]

A major breakthrough in the case took place on May 23, 2025, when police found a badly decomposed body covered in brush off an access road in a nature preserve. An autopsy could not determine the cause or manner of death due to the state of the body’s decomposition, and police said the body was missing a lower leg and part of the left arm due after the corpse was seemingly attacked by animals.

Police then seized Hamilton’s truck and K-9s picked up the smell of human remains. Additionally, Corbin’s Social Security card and medications were found inside of Hamilton’s truck.

When police tried to get access to Hamilton’s phone, she refused to hand it over. Authorities also noted that she was unhelpful and combative amid the investigation.

Hamilton was ultimately arrested on Friday, August 7, and she is currently in custody at Charlotte County Jail, where she is being held on a $6,000 bond. She is next scheduled to appear in court on September 8.

It is not currently clear if Hamilton has entered a plea or retained legal counsel. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to Us’ request for comment regarding the case.

Marvel & Star Wars’ Historic Crossover Has One Major Problem

Published

on

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill in Star Wars-Episode IV A NewHope.

Earlier today, Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm delivered a stunning announcement that the worlds of Star Wars and the Marvel Universe will collide next year with Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles. Hope Assembles seems to be hitting all the right notes, as its creative team consists of Kevin Smith and David Marquez; Smith is no stranger to the comic book world, having written iconic runs for Daredevil and Green Arrow, while Marquez’s work on titles like Uncanny X-Men and Invincible Iron Man is more than worth the cover price. Hope Assembles will also land on the 50th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, making it a true comic book event.

There’s one issue that might impact the crossover, and it has to do with the premise. According to the official synopsis, Hope Assembles will bring the events of Star Wars: A New Hope smack-dab into the Marvel Universe. This raises all kinds of questions, most notably: How will it affect both universes? Most people know that the movies and television shows that make up the Star Wars universe take place in a singular timeline, as do the Marvel comics set on Earth-616, aka the mainstream version of the Marvel Universe. Hope Assembles could complicate those timelines if it isn’t pulled off right.

‘Hope Assembles’ Could Radically Affect The Star Wars & Marvel Timelines

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm, it chose to establish a new version of Star Wars canon. Said canon would include the original trilogy, the prequels, the then-upcoming sequel trilogy, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, making it easier for new fans to get into the series. Future movies, comics, and other media would take place within this timeline and continue to do so; Rogue One, for example, is set right before the events of A New Hope and plays into its narrative. Crossing over these iconic characters with Marvel’s heroes could risk the integrity of that timeline, even if fans have been waiting to see such a crossover for years.

Kevin Smith and David Marquez might have found a way to blend the two franchises together. According to Entertainment Weekly, which first revealed the news, Hope Assembles is born due to a reality-warping spell that pulls the universes of Star Wars and Marvel together. Outgoing Marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski said that ideas for a Star Wars and Marvel crossover had been tossed around for years:

“It’s an idea we’ve wanted to explore since getting the Star Wars license back over a decade ago, but we knew we’d have to wait with the patience of a Jedi to make it happen. The 50th anniversary of A New Hope has finally given us the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring these two universes together, in this incredible story being told by Kevin Smith and David Marquez.”

The idea of a reality-warping spell raises plenty of questions, most notably concerning the Scarlet Witch, but it also seems like the best way to bring Star Wars and Marvel together. After all, the former franchise has teetered between science fiction and fantasy, which could fit into the wider scope of the Marvel Universe. It all hinges on whether Smith and Marquez can pull it off.

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

  • You understand that responsibility isn’t a burden you choose — it’s one that finds you.
  • Whether it’s a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
  • Peter Parker’s lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn’t a slogan to you. It’s the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.

Hell’s Kitchen, New York

😈 Daredevil

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

  • You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
  • You’ve looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.
  • Matt Murdock’s duality — champion in the courtroom, devil in the alley — mirrors your own.
  • Relentless, conflicted, and unwilling to stop. That is exactly you.

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

  • You lead with your mind and back it up with resources, innovation, and a stubbornness that borders on heroic.
  • You started out looking out for yourself, but somewhere along the way the world became your responsibility.
  • Tony Stark’s arc — from ego to sacrifice — is your arc too.
  • You build, you plan, and when the moment comes, you’re willing to give everything. Because in the end, you’re Iron Man.

You’ve been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What’s left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

  • You don’t ask for forgiveness, and you don’t expect gratitude.
  • You see a corrupt, broken world and you’ve decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
  • Frank Castle’s war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
  • Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.

Asgard · Protector of the Nine Realms

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

  • You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
  • You’re larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
  • Thor’s story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
  • You bring the storm when it’s needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.

Brooklyn, New York · The Avengers

🛡️ Captain America

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

  • You don’t bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
  • Steve Rogers didn’t become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
  • Your strength isn’t in your fists; it’s in your refusal to compromise what’s right, no matter the cost.
  • In a world full of people taking the easy road, you’re the one who picks up the shield and stands up — every single time.

A Star Wars/Marvel Crossover Poses a Problem of Scale

There’s another question that Hope Assembles has raised, and it concerns how Star Wars characters would operate in the Marvel Universe. Specifically, characters who use the Force could be a major problem. How can Captain America and the Avengers fight Darth Vader when he can choke them with the Force? Is a lightsaber powerful enough to carve through Cap’s shield or Wolverine’s Adamantium claws? It also runs the other way: given the cosmic forces that Marvel’s heroes have faced, is a Death Star or the might of the Empire really a major threat?

Fans will have to wait until next year to see how this conflict plays out, but it’s no surprise that Kevin Smith and David Marquez have a tough task ahead of them. Merging together two of the biggest pop culture franchises is a Herculean feat that could result in disaster or meteoric success. Hopefully, the latter will be the end result for Hope Assembles.

Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles #1 will be available wherever comics are sold on January 2027. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

The Bold and the Beautiful has R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) developing big plans to share with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). And you know, Eric and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) are going to want in on this because it involves revenge.

It’s all about using Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) for an epic revenge plot against Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). We’re going to talk about how R.J.’s new idea could be the perfect way for the Foresters to get revenge on Hope for betraying them and ditching them to work with Katie without a backwards glance.

Bold and the Beautiful: RJ Surprises Electra

All right, so I had a feeling that R.J. was going to pitch the idea to Electra for her to replace Hope with a new youth line, and that’s exactly what he did. R.J. and Electra were in the design office this week and R.J. had Electra try on this brand new design he just got stitched up from the sewing room.

And I will say it was an absolutely stunning gown. A lot prettier than the stuff I saw on the Forrester runway that Eric designed for Couture if I’m being honest. And Electra said the dress feels like her. And that’s when R.J. admitted that he specifically designed it with Electra in mind. Clearly R.J.’s head over heels for Electra.

Then R.J. started to talk to Electra about the possibility of her becoming the new Hope Logan. R.J. said he thinks the next youth line to replace Hope for the Future should be Electra’s. And R.J. suggested that Electra can be the face of the line, basically the same way when Hope was when she was that age when it first started. R.J. said that he and Zende can design the clothes.

Electra was excited. But she said her head was spinning. She thanked R.J. for believing in her. And then he even called R.J. in Monaco and said he had an idea about the youth line. But unfortunately R.J. didn’t share any details. I personally hate phone calls like that. You know, we need to talk and then they just leave you waiting. But this thing is going to be worth the wait.

Forresters on Board on B&B

In the meantime, Ridge, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Steffy are intrigued, but they won’t get the official pitch until they’re back in LA. But R.J. I don’t think’s going to have any problem getting them on board. First, because it’ll make everybody forget about Hope and about Logan and her line there.

And second, because Forrester is a bit desperate. When Hope left, it messed up their production schedule and they desperately need a new line ASAP. And third, because this could give Ridge and Eric and all the Forresters the chance for some sweet revenge. And I don’t think it’ll take much for the Forresters to embrace replacing Hope with an actual Forrester.

This new line is going to be a go. I’m quite certain. I think we’re going to see R.J., Electra, and Zende working together just like it used to be Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), Hope, and Zende Forrester (Delon deMetz). Honestly, it’s not a bad idea because Electra is gorgeous. And she’s, I think, more than a decade younger than Hope, who’s a bit older than a youth line representative maybe should be.

The Bold and Beautiful: Strategic Revenge and Fashion War

And Ridge and Steffy could amp up in all the press releases announcing it’s a real Forrester youth line, not a Logan line. And that would be a huge slap at Hope letting them know that she’s not needed, she’s been replaced, and that they don’t miss her. Plus, imagine if Eric suggests they also use some of the designs that were intended for Hope for the Future.

That might really hit Hope hard because she was the muse for those and it might bother her. But Eric may feel like his design shouldn’t have been used by Katie and Bill. The difference is Katie and Bill paid for those designs. And if Ridge is hesitant at all, I think R.J. could sell it to the Foresters as look, let’s do this. It’ll hit at Hope and it’ll be a huge swipe at Katie and Bill.

RJ Steps Up for Electra

R.J. wants to boost Electra and he also wants revenge on Will Spencer (Crew Morrow), Katie, and Bill, the whole family. Everybody at Forrester Creations does. Eric has lost his whole mind. He’s still lying to all the Foresters, even when Katie begged him to come clean. And I think Eric is angry at himself and he feels shame for his actions. But instead of coming clean, he’s lashing out. So, I bet he will love this Electra idea. And soon, I think we’re going to see R.J. run this by Zende.

Because he is on episodes this week and he’ll probably be on board and that way he and R.J. can pull out Zendaya’s designs and do some tinkering with Electra in mind instead of Hope as the muse. R.J. and Zende could have a whole presentation ready by the time Steffy, Brooke, and Ridge are back from Monaco. And I think they’ll absolutely love this idea and that they will be all for Electra as the new face of Forrester’s youth line. And it’s a good thing for a lot of reasons. It’ll distract from Hope’s new collection that came out.

Bold and the Beautiful: Forresters Furious & Fuming

Ridge and Steffy are still steamed that they’re getting grilled over in Monaco about Hope for the Future and Logan at all their meetings this week. So, I could even see Eric suggest they time the launch to come right before Logan’s next launch and kind of pull the same sneaky move on them that Katie pulled that messed up Eric’s couture launch.

I think a cool name for an Electra youth line could be Electra Forever versus, you know, Hope for the Future because that would imply that one’s temporary or iffy or may happen while one is an eternal classic just like the Forresters think their company versus Logan is. And this could be just the payback that Ridge, Eric, and Steffy want so badly on Bold and the Beautiful.

Plus, Electra really needs something to focus on so she’s not dwelling on her breakup with Will. What I’m really interested to know is if Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) will give Will a heads up about the new youth line. Right now, Katie doesn’t like Dylan very much and she’s made that clear. But if Dylan leaked the Forrester plans so that Logan could be prepared, that might actually have Katie realizing that Dylan is loyal to Will, unlike Electra.

This could be a really fun twist that’ll keep the focus on fashion, which I think is awesome. I think it’d be exciting to see a brand new line run by Electra, R.J., and Zende. It’s just what Forrester needs to put the spotlight back on them and take it off Logan. And of course, Eric would love to huff and puff and blow down the House of Logan, even though he’s the one who went begging Katie for that job.

Hope Crushed on Bold and the Beautiful

But of course, when Hope gets wind of this, I think it’s still going to sting. You know, she was treated poorly at Forrester, particularly by Steffy. And I think that Hope was right to leave and to go work with Katie at Logan. But let’s be real, Hope went about it the absolute wrong way. She lied about a leave of absence when she should have just quit.

And then working secretly at Logan behind all their backs. That was sketchy. So, replacing Hope with Electra will definitely be a whole new battle in what looks to be an ongoing fashion war, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Things with Forrester Creations and the House of Logan are just amping up.

I’m excited to see how Katie handles this new twist because I fully expect Ridge and Eric to hit them hard and say some harsh things when they launch this new line. You know, Ridge might announce the debut of Electra’s youth line in a really snarky way.

They might sling a lot of mud at Hope and Katie and talk about how Forrester achieves great things without stealing from other companies. You know, stuff like that to tick off Bill, tick off Katie, really tick off Hope, and I am pretty excited about it. I’m not the biggest fan of R.J. But if he does this right, he may grow on me.

Young and the Restless: Kyle Sparks Sizzling Alliance Romance With Victoria

Published

on

Young and the Restless: Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) - Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)

Young and the Restless saw Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) thrown together many, many times recently, and this week, Kyle and Victoria get a lot closer, and it looks like they have reached some sort of really interesting turning point in this friendship they have. Things are definitely shifting between them.

We’re going to talk about whether there is a revenge romance ahead for Kyle and Victoria. And obviously, it’d be nice if romance was all it was, but Kyle might realize revenge is also possible.

Young and the Restless: Kyle & Victoria’s Connection

Over the last several months, we’ve seen Victoria and Kyle a lot together, but it’s mostly been bickering about what Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been doing. It’s not really animosity at each other, although Kyle is irritated that Victoria and the other Newmans are constantly enabling Victor and covering for him.

And it’s no small thing considering the amount of havoc he has wreaked on Kyle’s family. Time and again, Victoria tried to talk Kyle out of going after revenge on Victor because she knows that her dad would retaliate on Kyle. And if Victor went after Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and the Abbotts again, that would be a deal breaker.

Victoria told Kyle that if Victor goes after them again, she’s afraid that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will leave Victor again and this time for good. No chance of a reunion. But Kyle hasn’t seemed willing to give up on revenge because Victor has done so much to his family for so long. But things may get way more complicated for Kyle because it definitely looks like he and Victoria are sparking this week.

Victoria Distraught on Y&R

She’s extremely worried about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) because he didn’t go back to rehab. He’s not answering his phone, ditching calls, he’s ignoring messages. And at this point, Victoria and the Newmans already suspect that Nick is holed up somewhere getting high. I mean, what else would he be doing at this point?

And the thing is, that is exactly what Nick is doing. He resisted temptation for a few hours, but then he started drugging and fooling around with Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow), the new junkie they just added as a recurring Young and the Restless character. So, Victoria is understandably distraught. She’s really worried about her brother Nick.

And then this week, Victoria’s at Crimson Lights and Kyle and Jack see her crying out on the patio. So, Victoria tells them what’s going on with Nick. And Kyle’s dad, of course, is really kind because Jack was a pill addict in the past as well. So, he’s trying to reassure Victoria. And he also offers her a little insight into what Nick is thinking and feeling right now.

Young and the Restless: Kyle & Victoria’s Almost-Kiss

As a former addict, Jack’s been there, done it, got the awful t-shirt. And Jack got hooked the same way that Nick did and this new chick, Marie, did after a medical situation that required painkillers. And then they got hooked and then it just spiraled into addiction. So then, Jack’s going to step away from them to take a phone call from Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Victoria is crying and Kyle’s holding her while she cries. And then when Victoria pulls back a little, she and Kyle are lingering.

Their faces are really close and it looks like they are just about to kiss, but they are interrupted right before it happens. So, Jack walks back in. They kind of pushed away and Kyle and Victoria, you know, that little moment they were having, it just abruptly ended. But I think it is going to happen at some point and it’s going to be more than just a kiss. It definitely looks like Young and the Restless is going there with these two.

We’re going to get some kind of romance with Kyle and Victoria, I expect. And of course, it would be extremely messy because it wasn’t that long ago Kyle was in a relationship with her daughter Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). They were very serious. Kyle was Claire’s first boyfriend. And he even asked her to marry him. And we saw Kyle completely head over heels for Claire.

Messy Family Entanglements on Y&R

But things were moving too fast because that was her first relationship. Plus, Summer Newman was an issue. And speaking of her, Kyle was married to Summer, who is Victoria’s niece. And on top of that, Victoria shares two kids with Kyle’s uncle, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who also used to be married to Victoria.

So, if she and Kyle get together, the family tree is starting to look more like a very entangled vine. And of course, there’s the big old Victor issue. Remember, he got close to Kyle a while back to try and weaponize him against Jack. But any warm feelings Kyle had about Victor evaporated once he brought Crazy Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) back to town and she kidnapped and raped his dad, Jack.

And then, of course, Patty kidnapped Diane and then tried to murder both Jack and Diane. So, there is no goodwill left between the Newmans and the Abbotts because of Victor’s endless vendettas. So, I just don’t think Kyle is quite ready to give up on his quest to destroy Victor no matter what he says.

Young and the Restless: Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) - Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)Young and the Restless: Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) - Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)
Young and the Restless: Kyle Abbott – Victoria Newman

Young and Restless: Revenge, Romance, and Family Complications

However, Jack reiterated his feelings to Kyle. Basically, Jack and Diane want to put this ugly chapter behind them. And then Kyle claimed to Victoria that his parents don’t want revenge, so he’s going to set it aside.  But Kyle may not be able to resist if he gets the opportunity to hit back at Victor the same way the mustache came for the Abbotts.

And obviously Kyle wasn’t expecting Victoria to kind of swoon over him like that. And it may give Kyle an idea on how to get revenge on Victor. You know, in Kyle’s mind, maybe going after Victor’s daughter, Victoria, may be the perfect revenge since Victor went after Kyle’s parents. An eye for an eye thing.

So Kyle told Victoria he didn’t want to see her, hurt, but we’ll see if Kyle sticks to that. First of all, him pursuing a romance with Victoria, that is enough to infuriate Victor if nothing else happen. And if Kyle’s having fun with Victoria while knowing Victor will amp up, act out, and maybe lose Nikki, that’s a big win for Kyle. That might be enough.

If you remember, he told Victoria his main issue is that Victor has paid no consequences. And Kyle thought if Victor had at least really lost Nikki, then Kyle could let it go because Victor would have suffered. But Nikki took him back because you know that’s what she does. She takes Victor back. So, Kyle might enjoy seeing Victor simmer if he finds out he’s seeing Victoria. And of course Kyle will think this is a ticking time bomb that could wreck Victor’s marriage.

Kyle & Victoria Fall for Each Other on Y&R

But there’s also a chance that Kyle could seduce Victoria from the start with the intent of it being a revenge play. However, even if it starts with Kyle looking for revenge, I still think he would end up falling for Victoria. And can you imagine how Victor’s head would explode if Victoria got with another Abbott after all this time?

She’s finally cut romantic ties with Billy once and for all. So, Victor would hate it, but honestly, I think Victoria could also fall for Kyle. And you never know, Victoria might finally be tired of Victor meddling in her love life and stand up to him and stick with Kyle. We’ve seen Victor rip apart many of her past relationships. I mean, honestly, he’s done it to all of his kids.

So, what would be really wild and soapy is if Victoria wound up getting pregnant by Kyle. If Victoria had a baby with Kyle, that kid would have Billy as a great uncle, but also Billy’s kids as siblings. And of course, Claire would be siblings with her ex-boyfriend’s kid. And that is straight up soapy. We’ve seen stuff like this on Young and the Restless before.

It definitely looks like Kyle and Victoria may be headed for romance, but I think that at the start they would probably keep it under wraps for a while and not let anybody know that they’re together for obvious reasons because it would be straight up Romeo and Juliet with an age gap twist and the messy family and revenge stuff in the mix. I think it’d be great.

Kaia Gerber Talks Growing Up In Cindy Crawford’s Shadow

Published

on

Kaia Gerber at the Los Angeles Premiere Of Amazon Prime Video's 'Overcompensating' Season 1

Kaia Gerber reveals that having a superstar like Cindy Crawford as a parent comes with its cons.

The rising entertainer reflected on her younger days, growing up in the industry, and being so open to public scrutiny. Paving a path as a model, just like her mom did in the 90s, has shown that sometimes the cons of walking in your parents’ footsteps outweigh the pros.

Kaia Gerber has learned to develop thick skin after being constantly compared to her mother, Cindy Crawford, for years, even though the silent hurt still lingers.

Gerber has pulled back the curtain on one of the most vulnerable parts of her life as an industry kid. The model shed light on the difficult part of having a presence in the entertainment industry while going through personal struggles.

She revealed that the glare of public scrutiny played a significant role in how she coped with the “disordered eating” she once suffered from. Noting that commenting on other people’s physiques never helps them get over their illnesses, Gerber stressed that “Negativity has never saved someone’s life.”

The rising actress caught eyes from her teenage years, following in the footsteps of her world-famous mother, who was one of the top supermodels of the 90s. Speaking to Vogue in the September issue, she observed that “We’re clearly in one of those cycles right now where people are very, very, very thin.”

The ‘Bottoms’ Actress Does Not See Her Uncanny Resemblance To Her Mother

Gerber continued speaking from a personal standpoint, confessing that she is “jealous of my mom’s body” and has always been compared to Crawford. “As someone who’s been thin most of my life… I would have loved to be born with boobs and a butt,” the 24-year-old admitted.

While promoting her latest movie “The Shards,” in which she stars alongside Homer Gere, Gerber disclosed that she vehemently disagrees with fans who say the resemblance between her and her mother is uncanny. She added that while she sees fans describing her as Crawford’s doppelganger as an honor, she does not see the resemblance.

“In all seriousness, it’s an honor when people tell me I look like my mom. I wish I did. I think even on my best days, I’m not even close,” Gerber told Yahoo! Entertainment. She went on singing her mom’s praises as the most beautiful woman before adding, “If there’s any way that I remind anyone of her, it’s just like the largest compliment.”

Gerber sat down with ELLE for a chat three years ago, where she discussed the silver lining of her job as a model. She shared insights into how she handles rejection as a model, noting that she learned not to take it personally.

“The Shards” actress shared that she went in with a pre-existing mental note that she was not being rejected for anything about her as a person. Even with that mentality, rejection in the modeling industry still hurts because showing yourself means opening up to criticism.

Gerber has also faced criticism for benefiting from her mother’s notoriety, as she is often tagged a “nepo baby.” While acknowledging that her mother’s legendary status as a supermodel has helped her in some aspects, she revealed that it does not extend to her growing career as an actress.

“With acting, it’s so different. No artist is going to sacrifice their vision for someone’s kid,” she said, stressing that one’s talents had to speak for them.

Amid The High-Flying Modeling And Acting Career Is A Family Struggle

Crawford welcomed her first child, Presley, with her husband Rande in 1999. Presley, who is also a model, reportedly struggles with substance abuse. Last December, he disclosed that he had been on several depressant medications to treat his “panic attacks.”

In her recent Vogue interview, Gerber got candid about her brother’s drug use and mental health following his “decade-long struggle with drug addiction.” She noted that seeing her brother in such a state was never easy, which prompted her to decide to keep her needs to herself.

Gerber explained that it felt like too much of a burden for her parents to have two kids with pressing needs; hence, she started putting hers on the back burner. As reported by PEOPLE, the actress felt refreshed seeing her brother talk openly about his battles, as their parents often kept those parts of their lives very private.

Kaia Gerber‘s Take On Relationships

Gerber is currently in a relationship with actor Lewis Pullman. The pair sparked relationship rumors last year, and she has been vocal about the love they share. Before coupling up with Pullman, Gerber had dabbled in the dating pool with popular entertainers like Pete Davidson, Jacob Elordi, and Austin Butler.

The actress raised eyebrows with her relationship with comedian Davidson due to their age gap, seemingly walking in her mother’s footsteps. Crawford famously dated and married Richard Gere, who was 17 years older than her.

The Blast shared that during a podcast appearance last year, Gerber offered relationship advice to listeners based on her experience dating older men.

She said that a friendship was a good foundation for a relationship, adding that people should not date based on mere sexual attraction. The movie star shared that dating multiple older men led her to change and try to fit into their image rather than be her genuine self.

Will people stop comparing Kaia Gerber to Cindy Crawford over time?

The 10 Most Perfect Guitar Solos in Classic Rock History, Ranked

Published

on

The 10 Most Perfect Guitar Solos in Classic Rock History, Ranked

Not every great song needs a guitar solo—but if there’s one, we’re not complaining. Classic rock songs typically treat the electric guitar solo as the moment when an instrument gets to speak for itself and the song without relying on lyrics. But in a sea of acclaimed guitarists, each with their own rock styles, guitar gear, and ways of translating their skills into storytelling through six strings, there’s a standout group of solos that are just as unforgettable as the songs and bands themselves.

From technically demanding performances to solos that rely entirely on feel, tone, and passionate emotions, these guitarists prove there’s more to a great solo than simply playing fast or showing off. Whether it breaks down a song’s facade, makes a guitar sound human, or simply gets a crowd moving, these are the solos that heighten their songs into the genre’s notable staples. With that said, here are the 10 most perfect guitar solos in classic rock, ranked.

10

“Aqualung” (1971) by Jethro Tull

Avid Family Guy fans have probably heard the “Aqualung” lick when Brian gets a new hairstyle with long brown hair. But before getting to the solo itself, “Aqualung” is a pastiche of three different guitar styles. There’s the memorable opening lick, made up of single-fret notes that work just as well as a bass line to anchor what comes next.

For a near-seven-minute song, Jethro Tull wouldn’t want anything repetitive. Next comes an acoustic rhythm strumming to pull away from the initial grittiness into a moment of reflection. Then the solo arrives, combining the earlier hard and soft elements through crunchy distortion and bluesy vibrato, tapping into the progressive rock energy the band is popular for.

9

“Blue Sky” (1972) by The Allman Brothers Band

It’s hard to box The Allman Brothers Band in. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, country is inescapable from their repertoire. But being the jam band they are, the unit also punches blues, rock and jazz into their studio work. “Blue Sky,” however, is their most country-sounding track to date, with the thickest Southern influences right from the get-go.

“Blue Sky” also shows there’s always room for two lead guitarists. After the initial minute, the song pays tribute to jam traditions with a dual-guitar jam session. Duane Allman leads in with the slightest raw distortion before Dickey Betts comes in harmony with a cleaner, more melodic solo of his own.

8

“Kid Charlemagne” (1976) by Steely Dan

Although categorized under the classic rock format on the radio, Steely Dan refuses to play strictly by the rockstar playbook. The band prioritized studio-only sessions after fully stopping touring in 1971. Instead of permanent members, they had a rotating team of session musicians, meaning there was always a fresh breath of musical influences coming into each session.

One of them is “Kid Charlemagne,” whose classic rock guitar solo between the jazz-fusion piano sticks out beautifully. Only requiring two takes, the solo proves that the most tasteful solos aren’t always the flashiest. It’s about choosing when to give and when to leave space, finding the groove, and knowing when to keep it simple.

7

“Highway Star” (1972) by Deep Purple

The beginner-friendly “Smoke on the Water” might be the ultimate Guitar Center riff when shopping for a new six-string, but don’t skip Deep Purple’s most technically innovative track, “Highway Star.” Before listeners even get to the guitar solo, we’re treated to a Baroque-inspired organ solo that sets the mood for a guitar solo that’s anything but simple.

Inspired by Bach’s chord structure—Dm, Gm, C, A—the solo demonstrates how much mileage you can get from a simple progression. Its clean, precise opening is deceptive, because the second half demands relentless fast picking, speed, stamina, and tight right-left-hand coordination. No flashy sweeping or tapping required, just the technical control needed to maintain that blistering velocity.

6

“Sultans of Swing” (1978) by Dire Straits

A good guitarist knows how to get the best out of his chosen six-string, and that’s what Dire Straits does with “Sultans of Swing.” There’s certainly technique involved, with Mark Knopfler opting for a pickless, finger-style approach that gives the solo a more fluid quality than the usual ferocity expected from rock guitar.

But “Sultans of Swing” isn’t about ferocity. It’s a masterclass in feel. Any musician can master technique, but the feel is that innate, invisible element no textbook can teach. Anyone can play fast, but making a guitar “sing” like a human is instinctual. Knopfler’s precise bends and finger-style technique bring out the Fender Stratocaster’s signature clunky sound, proving that great guitar playing is about expression.

5

“Free Bird” (1973) by Lynyrd Skynyrd

The true mark of a perfect solo is whether it can make a crowd dance. It’s no secret that solos can be indulgent, especially when a guitar solo is an opportunity to show off an entire skill set. But that isn’t the case with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s solo in “Free Bird,” which recently found a revival on social media.

Coming in the song’s second half after a slower, more emotional first half, the “Free Bird” solo is a catharsis of freedom that keeps going and going, explaining its extended duration. But the live version is where it truly shines, with a church-like, gospel-hypnotizing energy that makes you want to stomp your feet along with the song’s free-spirited soul.

4

“While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (1968) by The Beatles

Fittingly enough, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” features a solo that, if you close your eyes, sounds like someone is wailing. Although the track was written by fellow guitarist George Harrison of The Beatles, the solo itself is played by famed guitarist Eric Clapton, who overdubbed the lead guitar part.

Like Dire Straits, Clapton plays more on feel, using the right techniques and a Fender Stratocaster to achieve its brighter tone. The difference is that Clapton had already perfected his signature “woman tone,” a thick, rich, muffled yet sharp sound that resembles a woman singing. On “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” that distinctive tone makes the guitar feel almost human, as if it’s genuinely crying.

3

“Hotel California” (1977) by Eagles

“Hotel California” is proof that you can tell stories without words. A song about the dark side of the American Dream, The Eagles vividly portray a disillusioned, weary traveler trapped in a cycle of glittering hedonism that promises success, only to lead to self-destruction.

The dual guitars, which somehow act like a call-and-response, emphasize that journey. It starts with a singular guitar, offering a taste of Hollywood’s intoxication, but once you’re sucked in, the dual guitars arrive, thickening the whirlwind of the decadent illusion that never seems to end. Like the never-ending solo itself, you’re trapped in this glittering motion, endlessly circling the same seductive fantasy with no way out.

2

“Stairway to Heaven” (1971) by Led Zeppelin

“Stairway to Heaven” is the stuff of dad-rock lore—jokingly referred to as “forbidden” Led Zeppelin riff. While many listeners are hooked by the acoustic melody at the beginning, the solo brings the song full circle. A song about how all that glitters isn’t gold, the solo’s explosiveness literally breaks down that facade, allowing listeners to see the song from a new perspective.

“Stairway to Heaven” is a cornucopia of technique, guitar writing, and playing by feel. And while it’s grandiose, it never feels excessive. When that first note hits, it feels like your eyes are opened for the first time, suddenly revealing a new light—the very message behind the song, as “the tune will come to you at last.”

1

“Comfortably Numb” (1979) by Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd is essentially a music lab, proving that the sky’s the limit when it comes to sonic experimentation. While some guitarists opt for simplicity in tone, Pink Floyd shows that thoughtful experimentation can bring out more from your musicality while unlocking another layer of vocabulary to emphasize a song’s message.

“Comfortably Numb” is an introspective tune about the troubles lingering in our minds. Its guitar tone paints the hollow depths of human consciousness through careful technical choices, whether it’s combining aggressive crunch with smooth, singing sustain or knowing when to let the sound breathe and slowly fade away. Ultimately, it’s all about intention: using every element of the guitar to make the emotion speak louder.
