‘The Office’ Co-Creator Officially Returns to Netflix With New Special Next Month

Published

on

alley-cats-poster.jpg

Like many people, Ricky Gervais has multiple interests. High on that list would be cats and comedy. His fascination with cats is visible throughout his social media, where he regularly shares pictures of himself with his cats. Meanwhile, his relationship with comedy is also quite strong, as he is one of the most celebrated voices in the medium. His claim to fame is for creating the British version of The Office, which inspired numerous global remakes, including the 2004 American remake that went on to become one of the most popular comedies of the 2000s and the 2010s. Gervais has also created and acted in other shows in addition to his stand-up comedy work.

The Konttori creator has an ongoing deal with Netflix, through which he writes, produces, and stars in projects for the streamer. He has released several stand-up specials on Netflix, including Humanity, SuperNature, Armageddon, and Mortality. Additionally, he created the wildly popular Netflix comedy After Life, which follows a man who sheds his nice-guy persona after losing his wife. Gervais is back with a new series, which marks a departure from what his fans are familiar with, but it’s still Ricky Gervais to the core.

It combines two of his biggest interests: cats and comedy. The animated series is different from the live-action stuff fans are used to, but with Gervais as the writer and voice actor, it remains infused with his DNA. Titled Alley Cats, the series focuses on numerous feral British cats from all walks of life. The comedy series is a commentary on life, which can be funny and absurd at times, and through its main characters, the show ruminates on certain aspects. Cast members include Gervais (Gus), Tom Basden (Ponce), Andrew Brooke (Fang), David Earl (Puke), Kelly Godliman (Lara), Jo Hartley (Kitten), Diane Morgan (Olive), Natalie Cassidy (Samantha, Mum), and Tony Way, who voices numerous characters.

Gryffindor Tower · Scarlet & Gold

🦁 Gryffindor

You have nerve. Not the reckless kind, but the deep, quiet courage that shows up even when you’re terrified — especially then.

  • Gryffindors don’t act because they’re fearless — they act because they understand that some things are worth being afraid for.
  • You stand up for people when it would be easier to look away.
  • You charge toward what’s right even when the odds are terrible.
  • Harry, Hermione, Ron — the heroes of Hogwarts’s greatest chapter — all called the tower with the scarlet and gold home. And now, so do you.

Slytherin Dungeon · Emerald & Silver

🐍 Slytherin

You are driven, sharp, and utterly clear-eyed about what you want and how to get there.

  • Slytherin has long been misunderstood — painted as the house of villains when it is, at its best, the house of those who refuse to accept limits placed on them by others.
  • You are resourceful, strategic, and you play the long game.
  • You know your worth. You protect your own fiercely.
  • The dungeon common room with its view of the Black Lake is yours — and the ambitions that will take you further than anyone expects are yours too.

Hufflepuff Basement · Yellow & Black

🦡 Hufflepuff

You are the kind of person that makes the world genuinely better just by being in it.

  • Hufflepuff is not the “safe” house or the “leftover” house — it is the house of those with the greatest heart and the most unwavering integrity.
  • You show up. You work hard. You don’t need glory or recognition — you do what’s right because it’s right.
  • Your loyalty never wavers, even when tested.
  • Nymphadora Tonks, Cedric Diggory, Newt Scamander — some of the wizarding world’s finest. And now you join them.

Ravenclaw Tower · Blue & Bronze

🦅 Ravenclaw

Your mind is your greatest gift, and you’ve always known it.

  • Ravenclaws are the thinkers, the questioners, the ones who find a puzzle irresistible and a good book better company than most people.
  • Ravenclaw is not merely about intelligence — it’s about the love of learning, the pursuit of truth, and the rare courage to admit you don’t know something yet.
  • You see the world with unusual clarity and depth.
  • Luna Lovegood, Filius Flitwick, Rowena Ravenclaw herself — all extraordinary, all original. And so are you.

Jodie Sweetin On John Stamos’ Support Amid Sobriety

Published

on

Candace Cameron Bure smiles at the camera wearing a black and white patterned jacket at an event

“Full House” star Jodie Sweetin has been candid about her struggles with sobriety over the years, revealing that she first started drinking alcohol at the age of 14 before sharing that her interest in substances eventually spun out of control. Now, in a new interview, the “Fuller House” actress is revealing how her co-star, John Stamos, supported her on the difficult journey toward recovery while also staying on the straight and narrow himself.

While appearing on the “Dory Jackson Interview” podcast, Sweetin, 44, opened up about how Stamos’ support and kind words helped keep her in check as she pursued sobriety.

“John and I really, really connected in a lot of ways over [sobriety],” she said on the most recent episode. “We have been there to celebrate each other’s big successes and milestones, and I am so glad that I got to be an example of attraction rather than promotion, which is a big principle in recovery.”

Stamos and Sweetin’s relationship dates back to the ’80s, when they both booked leading roles in the ABC sitcom “Full House,” which ran from 1987 to 1995. They reunited on screen for the Netflix reboot, “Fuller House,” from 2016 to 2020.

According to Sweetin, she’s learned a lot about herself throughout her sobriety journey. “[The principle is] don’t beat people over the head. Just be the result of all of your work, and chances are, people that are looking will find you,” she said.

The Last Time Jodie Sweetin Touched A Drink

Elsewhere in the interview, the mom of two opened up and revealed that the last time she even touched an alcoholic drink was in 2011, adding that it’s been a “journey.” She explained that she began a 12-step program and engaged in work outside the program, such as therapy, to help guide her. Sweetin described the feeling of being untethered to alcohol as “very freeing.”

“You get the opportunity to become a different person, and once you start actually liking that person, it becomes really hard to go back and continue destructive behavior,” the actress said. “You kind of go like, ‘Oh, wait, hold on, I want to take care of this little person inside here and see what they’re capable of.’ And I’ve been really fortunate to be able to do that.”

Sweetin previously opened up about her addiction to alcohol in a different interview, revealing that it all began for her when she had her first drink at co-star Candace Cameron Bure’s wedding when she was 14. In another interview, she said that she leaned on alcohol as a teenager to help her relate to those around her.

“I had this weird, I’ll say, I had this, particularly after the show ended, like, in high school, there was this strange feeling that I had, because everyone assumed I was quote unquote a TV star. So, like, you know, the rumor before you would even start at a school was like, ‘Oh, she’s a stuck-up b-tch,’” she said.

Sweetin attempted to shed that label by outdrinking her peers and taking harder drugs, per The Blast.

Stamos has also dealt with substance abuse, and he even made headlines in 2015 when he was arrested for an alleged DUI. Stamos went on to seek treatment in a rehab center and detailed the moment in his memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me.”

He told PEOPLE in 2023 that he realized he was drinking too much and that it was partially caused by the people he was hanging around. “I had that DUI and I was like, ‘I can’t do this. I’ve got to straighten up,’” he said. “That’s when I was confusing the universe because I’m not a bad person, but I was doing crappy things.”

What Helped Stamos Stay Focused On His Well-Being?

Thankfully for Stamos, he was able to lean on his sister and his “Fuller House” co-stars for support throughout his journey. In addition to them, Stamos credited his wife, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, and their son, Billy, for holding him tightly even when he felt he let them down.

“They have kept me on this path because going down the road of being sober and taking care of yourself, everybody tries. Everybody does it. You could get going for a little while. Then, it’s like, ‘I can drink again,’” he said. “So it’s staying on the path is what they mostly do for me.”

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s Wedding Guests Defend Ceremony

Published

on

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s July 3, 2026, wedding at Madison Square Garden may have been phone-free, but that hasn’t stopped a flood of rumors, AI-generated images of the newlyweds and online criticism from swirling in the days since the couple’s star-studded nuptials.

While the bride and groom remained mum about their big day, several high-profile guests are pushing back and defending the ceremony’s seemingly unconventional choices, shutting down false reports and calling out the fake photos circulating online.

Keep scrolling to see how attendees shut down rumors surrounding one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity weddings:

Joseph Kahn Defends ‘No VIP’ Seating and Blasts Fake AI Photos

Joseph Kahn, who has directed eight of Swift’s music videos, quickly emerged as one of the wedding’s most vocal defenders.

“For the record, I liked the no VIP seating at Taylor’s wedding,” Kahn wrote via X on July 8, 2026. “Everyone who attended can come down to earth and check their ego with their phones for a minute.”

He added, “It’s not a club. It’s a wedding.”

Days earlier, Kahn used his platform to call out the flurry of AI-generated images purporting to show the inside of the ceremony.

“Every picture I’ve seen of the wedding is fake,” he tweeted. “Trust me, AI would break if you tried to prompt it.”

Simone Biles Claps Back at Critics of Her Wedding Invite

Simone Biles wasn’t about to let strangers question her friendship with the bride. After the Olympic gymnast and her husband, NFL star Jonathan Owens, celebrated their attendance with a carousel of photos on Instagram on July 5, 2026, one commenter asked, “When has Simone Biles and Taylor Swift even spoken to each other?😂

Biles’ response was swift and unbothered, replying, “Remember this, I only show y’all what I want y’all to know.”

The gymnast and the pop star’s friendship actually stretches back a decade, to when Swift publicly supported Team USA gymnastics during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Biles later returned the favor by performing to Swift’s “…Ready for It?” during the 2024 Olympic trials.

Their bond deepened in 2021, when Swift narrated a tribute video for Biles after the gymnast withdrew from multiple events at the Tokyo Olympics. Set to Swift’s “This Is Me Trying,” the video became a viral moment of support.

Tavia Hunt Shuts Down Champagne and Long-Line Rumors

Tavia Hunt, wife of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, wasted no time knocking down rumors that the reception had run short on champagne or that guests were stuck waiting in long lines.

“This is such a false narrative. They did not run out of champagne,” she wrote via Instagram comment days after the ceremony. “There were not long lines. Every single person was seated for the ceremony.”

BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James, who also attended the ceremony, had a similar experience as the Hunt family.

“Great food, unlimited food and drinks,” James made a point to mention on the July 8, 2026, broadcast of his morning show. “[Taylor and Travis were] on the dance floor, having a great time; it was great.”

Eric Stonestreet Praises ‘Classy’ Ceremony

“I found that very authentic, and I thought that was like classy and cool,” Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, a major Chiefs fan, told Chiefs Wire in July 2026. “I think that Travis and Taylor created a night for themselves and their guests that was special and unique in only the way they could.”

Stonestreet was over the moon to get the invite and was amazed by the venue’s transformation for the big day.

“I know they’ve gotten so much crap for doing it at Madison Square Garden, but show me another place where they could have a private moment like anybody else would deserve to have at a wedding, where they don’t have helicopters and hot air balloons and dirigibles floating over them trying to get video.”

Feature Jen Hamilton Breaks Silence on Split

Comedian Tom Segura’s estranged wife, Christina Pazsitzky, is addressing the couple’s shocking split after 18 years of marriage.

“Thank you for all the kind messages. This is a really difficult time for our family,” Pazsitzky, 50, wrote in picture of a handwritten note shared via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 18, addressing listeners of her and Segura’s podcast “Your Mom’s House,” who she referred to in the note as “mommies.”

“Episodes of YMH are pre-recorded in advance — hence no mention of recent events,” she continued in the message. “Just know your Mommy loves you and will see you very soon.”

News broke on Monday, July 18, that Pazsitzky, who is also a comedian, and Segura, 47, called it quits a few months ago — a decision that was reportedly amicable. (TMZ was the first to report the news.) The pair, who said “I do” in November 2008, share two sons, Ellis and Julian, whom they welcomed in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Sci-Fi Hit Refuses to Leave Apple TV’s Top 10

Published

on

Anya Taylor-Joy on the red carpet

Even though she has worked far and wide in movies of all shapes and sizes, Anya Taylor-Joy seems to have a special bond with Apple TV. Her latest project, the limited series Lucky, has remained at the top of the streamer’s viewership charts ever since its debut on July 15. Meanwhile, a genre-bending movie she starred in with Miles Teller has passed a monumental milestone of its own. The movie was released as an Apple TV original in 2025, and was primarily positioned as a Valentine’s Day offering. While it featured plenty of romance, it also dabbled in sci-fi, action, thriller, horror, and other genres.

The movie was directed by Scott Derrickson, best known for the horror hits The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Black Phone, and the superhero movie Doctor Strange. The narrative revolved around two characters who are stationed in observation towers on opposite sides of a gorge and tasked with ensuring that its mysteries remain hidden. The movie also featured Sigourney Weaver in a supporting role whose brevity was similar to that of the one she played in The Mandalorian & Grogu recently. While Apple TV has released several popular movies in the last year — F1, Fountain of Youth, and The Family Plan 2 — Taylor-Joy and Teller’s blockbuster remains at the top of the streamer’s charts.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

Anya Taylor-Joy Is Having a Major Year

We’re talking, of course, about The Gorge. According to FlixPatrol, the movie has spent more than 500 days on Apple TV’s domestic viewership leaderboard, which it continues to dominate even now. The Gorge received mixed reviews and is now sitting at a 62% critics’ score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Mixing multiple genres, The Gorge makes for a surprisingly endearing romance until its action-thriller obligations steer proceedings back onto a more predictable path.” The film’s audience score of 74%, however, partially explains why it has been so popular with viewers. Taylor-Joy has already had a theatrical hit this year (The Super Mario Galaxy Movie), and she has another sure-fire hit (Dune: Part Three) lined up for release in December. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Peacock’s 4-Hour Revenge Thriller Is the Perfect Weekend Binge

Published

on

Uma Thurman with a katana in Kill Bill Vol. 2

That Quentin Tarantino guy sure has made some great movies, albeit not many recently, since Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came out in 2019, and at the time of writing, that’s his most recent effort. He has maintained an intention to direct 10 movies and then move on from directing, so there’s probably just all this pressure to do something special for film #10. If you wanted to be devious, you could say Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 are his fourth and fifth movies, respectively, which would’ve made Once Upon a Time in Hollywood film #10. But Kill Bill was made as one massive movie that got divided into two, with one volume coming out in 2003, and the second volume coming out in 2004.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair had been screened in 2004, at Cannes, and then there had been very limited screenings at Tarantino’s own New Beverly Cinema for little one-off events, but 2025 was the first time most people got to see the film as a single experience. So, with The Whole Bloody Affair widely available, it’s now accessible as the fourth Quentin Tarantino movie, and so it’s harder to argue he already did his 10th, with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. After the theatrical run, Peacock is now the best place to watch and experience Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, and fully appreciate it as one of the absolute greatest revenge thrillers of all time.

The Story of ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’

Discussing Kill Bill, the easiest part is always breaking down what it’s about. Revenge. That’s it. Okay, not completely “that’s it,” but that is the main premise, that is what the main character is after almost the whole time, and that is what drives the whole movie. There are parts in the second half of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (or parts of Vol. 2) that complicate the whole quest for revenge, to some extent, or make certain kills harder to carry out for The Bride (Uma Thurman) than others, but it is still an A to B sort of thing, ending with Bill (David Carradine) ideally killed. So The Bride hopes.

She escaped her life as an assassin before the events of the main story, and then, when Bill and the other members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad find out where she ran off to, they track her down and try to kill her. They also wipe out people she’d met, and did it all during a wedding rehearsal… hence her being known, for much of the film, as “The Bride.” She doesn’t die, and then, years on from almost dying, tracks all the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad members down, one by one, making them pay. It’s a simple story, but Tarantino definitely has a lot of fun with how it’s carried out and executed, in terms of style and genre(s).

Why ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ is the Ultimate Revenge Epic

Revenge, as a theme, has driven all sorts of movies, and you see it quite a lot in films that have quite a bit of action and/or life-or-death stakes. So, there are lots of martial arts movies about revenge, plenty of revenge-themed samurai films, and then vengeance and justice are themes that are intrinsic to a good many Westerns. Looking at it that way, within cinema history, it makes sense why Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair pays homage to a variety of films from various genres. Martial arts is something it leans into throughout, while the first half of the epic is also indebted to samurai and yakuza films, and then there is more of a spaghetti Western feel to much of the second half.

If you like the sorts of movies Tarantino likes, you’ll probably be in some kind of cinematic heaven here.

Quentin Tarantino has never been shy about celebrating and paying tribute to movies he really loves, and you see him doing so in a more heightened way than ever in Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. If you like the sorts of movies Tarantino likes, you’ll probably be in some kind of cinematic heaven here. You can watch Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, then keep digesting other older movies, all before coming back to Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, maybe a few years later, and you’ll be able to notice more of those references, and better piece together its DNA. The love for genre – and sometimes B-grade – cinema here is undeniable, and for Tarantino to do it with A-grade technical qualities, acting, cinematography, and writing is a real treat.

How ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ Differs From ‘Vol. 1’ and ‘Vol. 2’

There might not be a ton new in Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, if you’ve seen and enjoyed Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 before. If anything, you might find there’s a bit less. The ending of Vol. 1 is altered so that it doesn’t have a cliffhanger, which makes a certain scene in Vol. 2 technically more of a reveal. There’s a recap at the start of Vol. 2 that’s also gone from The Whole Bloody Affair. Some violent sequences that were in Vol. 1 are bloodier and more intense in The Whole Bloody Affair, and you get a brief intermission between the two halves, rather than an end credits sequence for Vol. 1.

It would probably be easiest to recommend this complete version to someone who’s never seen either Kill Bill before. But if you have seen those movies before, and want to see one done the way Tarantino preferred, you can treat The Whole Bloody Affair like a director’s cut. You’re not going to have an entirely new experience, but you’ll probably find it interesting. And, either way, the events of Kill Billbe they divided into two volumes or made into one whole bloody affair – are great, and endlessly cinematic. It’s easy to binge this approximately four-hour-long epic, and it really does remain one of the very best things Quentin Tarantino has ever directed.

Anne Hathaway’s Breathable Summer Dress Style Is a Staple

Not everyone deserves the title of ‘style icon,’ but we’d argue it’s one of the best ways to describe Anne Hathaway (aside from, you know, being an amazing actress). The 43-year-old has been rocking the outfits of our dreams — both on screen and off — since at least 2001, and judging from her latest press tour looks for The Odyssey, she won’t be stopping anytime soon. Even Hathaway’s more casual ensembles are pretty enviable, and while many of Us might not have a baby bump to dress, we’re still drooling over the breezy sundress she wore while out in New York City.

For an appearance on the Today show, Hathaway’s stylist, Erin Walsh, made sure the brunette beauty was cool and comfy in a teal Alaïa halter dress. As one might expect, the high-end piece costs a pretty penny (over $3,000), but the style is extremely flattering — even for those who aren’t pregnant — since it floats over the belly and neither highlights nor constricts the midsection.

Thankfully, those who are lusting after the look aren’t out of luck. We found an Amazon alternative with a similar design and easy, summery vibe, but at $39, it’s a bit more budget-friendly than the OG.

The AmySister Casual Halter Tiered Maxi Dress is a worthy warm-weather investment, working for everything from backyard hangs to fancy weddings and even weekend errand runs. While it doesn’t come in teal, it is available in a beachy blue shade (another color Hathaway just wore on the red carpet!), as well as green, pistachio, bright pink and more. The ruched halter neckline channels Hathaway’s luxury look, and the cotton fabric makes the pick extra breathable in the heat.

If you’re tired of sneakers, sandals and even basic ballet flats, we feel you. But Anne Hathaway‘s latest shoe choice might inspire you to try a new take on an old trend. The actress wore rich-looking woven flats that somehow screamed ‘Hamptons’ and ‘Manhattan’ at the same time, and we found the luxe look for […]

The Amazon find also features a tiered skirt for a breezy, billowy silhouette — this one won’t cling when temperatures rise and won’t show off your tummy. A back tie keeps everything secure (and easily hides a bra band) while pockets are a convenient detail. Add in the fact that the AmySister dress is machine washable, and it’s easy to see why hundreds of shoppers scooped it up in the past month.

“Wore this for my birthday and loved it so much!” one reviewer wrote. “I love how you can tie the top as tight/loose as you want so it’s a fit-everybody dress. So flattering and I got so many compliments on it. I also LOVE that it has pockets. It was the perfect style, length and quality for the price. Not see-through at all and lightweight!”

Plus, while one 5’3″ customer noted the maxi is “especially great for petites,” another who is 6.0″ said the style is “flawless,” rating it “10/10.” Even those who, like Hathaway, were dressing a baby bump found that this pick worked for them.

“LOVE,” said a happy shopper. “So comfy and cute even at 25 weeks pregnant. Got my normal size.”

Whether you’re pregnant or not, going somewhere fancy or keeping it casual, this halter dress is a stylish, summer-friendly option you’ll reach for on repeat. Take a tip from Hathaway and add the style to your cart today!

How Netflix’s InterPositive Deal Transformed Ben Affleck’s Net Worth

Published

on

Ben Affleck

Actor Ben Affleck’s net worth has taken a massive leap following the blockbuster sale of his stealth AI startup, InterPositive, to streaming giant Netflix. The recent regulatory filing revealing a $587 million purchase price has officially rewritten the actor-director’s financial trajectory, transforming him from an A-list movie star into a top-tier tech founder. Prior to the landmark March 2026 acquisition, industry trackers valued Affleck’s wealth around $150 million to $200 million. Now, liquidating his stake in one of Netflix’s largest acquisitions to date has comfortably catapulted his net worth past the $300 million mark, setting a new blueprint for celebrity wealth in the digital age.

Although he is best known for his movies, Affleck significantly increased his net worth after selling his AI startup, InterPositive, to Netflix. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the actor’s net worth is estimated to be around $300 million. That’s a big jump compared to his frequent collaborator Matt Damon, whose net worth is only estimated to be around $170 million.

So where did that large number come from? Over the decades, the actor has earned hundreds of millions of dollars in film salaries and backend bonuses. In addition to his roles in front of the camera, he has earned millions as a director and producer. However, it’s the March 2026 sale of his stealth AI filmmaking company, InterPositive, to Netflix that has really boosted his net worth.

Inside The Sale To Netflix and How Much The Streamer Paid

On Friday, July 17, the streamer disclosed that it paid $587 million for InterPositive in cash. The disclosure was released in the company’s Form 10-Q. The filing states, “In March 2026, the Company completed an acquisition which was accounted for as a business combination for a total purchase price of approximately $587 million, consisting of cash consideration,” as published in The Hollywood Reporter.

Although the filing didn’t name InterPositive, Netflix announced the deal on March 5. Even though the sale is relatively recent, InterPositive is not a new company. It was created in 2022 and began exploring the AI space, with an emphasis on altering a production’s visual effects without inhibiting the creative aspects of filmmaking.

Ben Affleck Talks About His ‘Responsibility’ To ‘Human Creativity’

In a post at the time, Affleck explained that he had a “responsibility” to protect human creatives and discussed his “commitment” to the next stage of technology following his company’s sale to Netflix.

“I knew I had a responsibility to my peers and our industry, to protect the power of human creativity and the people behind it,” he said at the time. “In creating InterPositive, I sought to do just that.”

“From the invention of the moving image to the transition to digital, from motion capture to virtual production, technology has evolved alongside the artists who use it,” he continued. “Our shared commitment to continuing this legacy makes joining together a natural next step, in addition to Netflix’s decades of experience applying and scaling technology responsibly.”

Affleck went on to explain how the company’s first model was “trained to understand visual logic and editorial consistency, while preserving cinematic rules under real-world production challenges such as missing shots, background replacements or incorrect lighting.”

Netflix Co-CEO Explains How His Company Uses AI In Post-Production

Co-CEO of Netflix Ted Sarandos
BONNIE CASH/UPI/Newscom/The Mega Agency

On a company earnings call earlier this week, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos claimed that about 300 productions currently use AI. Of these 300 productions, most use artificial intelligence in post-production.

“Gen AI is scaling quickly across the entire creative process, from concept to pre-vis through post and delivery,” Sarandos said, per THR. “We’re making higher quality output more quickly and efficiently than we could have using traditional methods. So gen AI workflows now have been used in roughly 300 of our titles with the largest concentration right to date is on post-production. But we’re leveraging gen AI for really complicated shots and sequences.”

He went on to cite the doc “The American Experiment” as an example, claiming that it had 17 minutes of “AI-enhanced” footage. “It enabled us to expand the scope of the series in ways that just wouldn’t have been feasible before,” he said. “Those 17 minutes… they were produced twice as fast and at half the cost of previous options.”

Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan Postpone Concert Amid Storms

Published

Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan are delaying their co-headlining concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

“We’ve been, kind of, sat with our teams and the promoters and the meteorologists all morning,” Horan, 32, began an Instagram video shared Saturday, July 18. “It feels like there’s a lot of severe weather in the area and some bad weather conditions and thunderstorms threatening the show. So, we have been, kind of, forced into a corner and we will have to reschedule.”

Rhett, 36, and Horan were scheduled to perform at Hersheypark Stadium on Saturday. Instead, and under advisement, the two musicians will take the stage on Sunday, July 19.

“[It’s] something we didn’t want to do, but we do want to stay in town and a show for you guys,” the One Direction alum stated on Saturday. “If you have a ticket, you can come tomorrow. If you can’t make the show tomorrow night, you will get a full refund for your ticket.”

He continued, “We’re obviously said to have to do this, but this is what we’re gonna have to do.”

Rhett, for his part, noted that the fans’ well-being is paramount.

“We love y’all, and y’all’s safety is first and foremost our biggest concern,” the “Life Changes” singer added in the Saturday upload. “We want to give y’all the show that we have prepared. We just couldn’t guarantee that for tonight.”

Rhett added, “So, it’s a miracle that the venue’s available tomorrow, that me and Niall are both here tomorrow and so we’ll see you guys tomorrow night, ready to freaking rock. We love y’all so much.”

During the show, Rhett and Horan each performed their biggest hits before teaming up for a rendition of their “Old Tricks” duet. In addition, the country singer honored his growing family of seven during the gig with a sweet “Life Changes” lyric swap. (Rhett and wife Lauren Akins are parents of five.)

“I remember the day I told my Daddy and Mama, ‘You’re gonna have a grandkid, yep/ from Uganda, that’s right, we’re adopting / And she is the cutest little girl that you ever seen,’” he sang. “Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad / A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had / Now there’s Willa and sweet Ada James, and there’s Lennon and there’s Lillie / And baby boy Brave.”

Parents of four daughters, Rhett’s wife gave birth to their first son in February.
