Having a ball! Prince George keeps Charlotte entertained with cheeky antics – as pair don designer sunglasses to enjoy sibling day out at Wimbledon men’s final

Published

Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined their mother, the Princess of Wales, on day 14 of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships on Sunday

It was a fun-filled sibling day out for Prince George and Princess Charlotte at the men’s singles final at Wimbledon on Sunday.

While Prince Louis was absent, his brother and sister joined their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, to watch Italy‘s Jannik Sinner retain the tennis title, beating Germany‘s Alexander Zverev.

Sporting action aside, the event proved to be a blast for 12-year-old George and his 11-year-old sister Charlotte, with the pair seen in high spirits throughout the day.

In one particularly entertaining moment, the future king was seen making his sister roar with laughter after pulling down his sun hat.

But with temperatures as high as 29C in SW19 yesterday, keeping cool was no joke. George donned sunglasses and gripped a handheld fan to help battle London‘s balmy weather.

Charlotte opted to wear a pair of £71 Ray-Ban ‘Wayfarer’ sunglasses in the colour Havana to protect herself from the summer sun, alongside an elegant dress in royal blue and £159 ‘Nicole’ ballet flats from Pretty Ballerinas.

The shades weren’t the only accessory she added, with the princess sporting a £48 Isabella Icon Charm Adjustable Bracelet from Ted Baker.

While the young royals looked highly amused after they dashed out of the Royal Box at Wimbledon to grab sun hats, their father, Prince William, seemed totally unfazed by the high temperatures.

In another moment yesterday, Kate shook hands with British player Arthur Fery, who made history by becoming the first wildcard to make it to the semi-final in 25 years.

The 5ft 9in player’s fairytale run finally came to an end after he was beaten by Zverev on Friday.

But his newfound friendship with the Royal Family has appeared to continue unabated – as he spoke of inviting the Wales children to play tennis with him.

Fery said: ‘I mean the princess came to my match in the second round, it was great to have her there and we spoke a little about that. It was good to see her here and good to meet her finally.

‘She wished me good luck for the rest of the year and congratulated me for these two weeks.

‘I know the whole family are all tennis fans, so I told her if her kids ever wanted to hit, I’m free. It would be good to see them again.’

Fery said he would be watching the final on TV, with the princess handing him a birthday card to celebrate his 24th.

She previously congratulated Fery on his quarter-final win against Flavio Cobolli by paying tribute to a ‘wonderful day’ at Wimbledon.

Kate signed off her message of support on social media with a tennis ball emoji and the letter ‘C’.

She attended Wimbledon for the men’s final last year when she handed Sinner the trophy following an enthralling four-set battle.

The princess donned her ‘Wimbledon bow’ – a brooch featuring the tournament’s iconic colours.

Kate was also present for the 2025 women’s final and offered consoling words to the runner-up Amanda Anisimova after her 6–0, 6–0 loss to Polish player Iga Swiatek.

In 2024, while recovering from cancer, Kate did not attend the women’s final but was on hand for Carlos Alcaraz’s win over Novak Djokovic at the All England Club.

Several other familiar faces have descended on south-west London on Sunday afternoon for the 4pm match as the two-week-long tournament came to an end.

Pop sensation Jennifer Lopez, 56, looked the epitome of glamour as she arrived in a tight nude midi dress which she paired with a stylish hat and towering heels.

Elsewhere, actress Nicole Kidman, 59, looked chic in a white suit as she joined Dame Anna Wintour in the Royal Box – where the Vogue icon enjoyed a rare laugh as she chatted to the Australian star.

Departing Strictly host Tess Daly, 57, and her daughter Phoebe, 21, Daisy Edgar-Jones, 28, Twiggy, 76, and Nicky Hilton, 42, also made their arrivals earlier in the afternoon and sported glamorous dresses.

Zverev secured a place in the final after beating Fery earlier this week while Sinner defeated Djokovic.

The women’s singles final was an equally starry affair with the likes of Hannah Waddingham and Davina McCall attending on Saturday.

Linda Noskova won her first Wimbledon championship in style as she roared back in a dramatic third set after missing out on five match points in the second.

The 21-year-old was making her Grand Slam final debut in SW19 against her fellow Czech – and 2023 French Open finalist – Karolina Muchova.

After romping to a commanding 6-2, 5-2 lead, however, nerves appeared to tell, with Muchova hitting back to send the match through to a decider.

But with admirable nerve, Noskova saw out the final set at pace before bursting into tears on Centre Court.

Harry Kane Faces Backlash After Golf With Donald Trump

Harry Kane Faces Backlash After Golf With Donald Trump

Harry Kane has sparked backlash after revealing he’s played golf with Donald Trump.

The England captain, whose six goals have helped fire his team into Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final against Argentina, disclosed the round with the president during a news conference on Friday.

The Bayern Munich striker was asked by The Daily Telegraph how he fared against Trump on the golf course. Watch the exchange here.

“I played all right, to be honest,” Kane said. “Yeah, we played about 18 months ago. He invited me to play when I was down in Palm Beach, so, yeah, when the president invites you somewhere. It was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him.”

Kane added that Trump’s golf game is “pretty good to be honest with you” and said: “I hope I can play golf as good as him when I’m his age, that’s for sure.”

“Yeah, a unique experience,” Kane added. “But, yeah, was just grateful that he just invited me down to play, for sure.”

Trump, who turned 80 in June, has long faced accusations of cheating at golf, including from sportswriter Rick Reilly, who devoted an entire book to the subject.

Trump praised Kane on Truth Social last week, calling him “a GREAT player!!!” before later revealing the pair had played golf together.

Kane’s remarks quickly drew criticism on social media, with some calling them “beyond embarrassing” and “disappointing.”

The England captain is not the first soccer star to face backlash over an encounter with Trump.

Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi have also been criticised in recent months following visits to the White House and photo ops with the president.

If England end up beating reigning champions Argentina and then go on to win the World Cup against either Spain or France, Trump will hand Kane the trophy.

Equity release myths explained

Published

on

Couple researching myths around equity release and finding out the truth

Myth 6: There won’t be anything left to leave your loved ones

The Truth: Lifetime mortgages have become increasingly flexible in recent years, and there are plans available which allow you to protect a portion of your equity for inheritance.

Alternatively, if you don’t want your loved ones to have to wait until you die before receiving financial support from you, you could use equity release to provide them with an early inheritance. According to the Equity Release Council, customers across the market unlocked an average lump sum of £121,196 in Q1 2026.

Equity release will reduce the value of your estate and may affect your entitlement to means-tested benefits. If you’re considering gifting to family, you may need specialist tax advice, which is not provided by Royal London Equity Release Advisers.

If you fall into the band where inheritance tax (IHT) is a consideration, equity release could help minimise your potential liability. This depends on individual circumstances and tax rules may change. Additionally, provided you live for another 7 years after making it, there may be no inheritance tax to pay on gifts to your loved ones.

Using a lifetime mortgage to give a cash gift may incur an inheritance tax liability. Your adviser can discuss this with you further. Taxation advice is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Myth 7: It is an expensive way to borrow

The Truth: Releasing equity with a lifetime mortgage doesn’t have to be expensive.

There are a variety of features available that could help you to control the costs.

For example, you could release your equity in stages using a drawdown facility. Or you could control the impact of interest by choosing to make optional payments. Without payments, interest will build up over time, increasing the overall amount owed. Since interest rates are fixed for life, you will always know exactly how much it might cost you.

Your personal equity release adviser will also provide a personalised illustration, showing how much you could owe over time should you choose to release equity. You can use this to consider your plans and whether you want to make any payments over time.

Vicky Pattison wipes tears as she discusses not having a baby yet after sharing fertility journey

Published

Manchester Evening News

Vicky emotionally spoke about not yet being a mother after being open about her journey to freeze her eggs

Vicky Pattison has been seen wiping away the tears as she spoke about not yet being a mother after being open about her journey to freeze her eggs.

The presenter and reality TV star revealed back in 2022 that she had decided to have her eggs frozen, saying at the time that her body ‘doesn’t have the luxury of loads of time’, while also knowing that it wasn’t the ‘right time’ for her to have children.

At the time, Vicky and her now-husband Ercan were early in their relationship, having met in 2019, but they have recently been seen discussing what the future looks like for them in their E4 documentary, Vicky Pattison: Maybe, Baby?, which followed the realities and pressures couples face to start a family.

Now, Vicky has emotionally opened up about her family plans, saying she feels “a bit lost” because she does not yet have a child. The former Geordie Shore star opened up on the Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, telling host Dilly Carter: “It’s just the way the cookie crumbles and like how life sometimes presents you with different things and different opportunities and stuff.

“And I’ve never really felt ready until now!” The 38-year-old admitted: “It’s wild but like something just clicks, and the minute you feel ready it’s like you need a baby straight away.”

She explained: “And all my whole life I felt so content and so happy and so proud of the things I was doing, and now all of a sudden, because I don’t have a baby, I feel a bit lost,” before admitting: “I didn’t think I’d be this age without a baby or a family.”

As she wiped away tears, she praised her husband: “I love my husband so much. He’s going to make such a great dad. We’re just trying not to put too much pressure on ourselves.” In typical Vicky fashion, the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 contestant joked: “But yeah, at the moment, Well I mean, he’s [Ercan’s] having a lovely time.”

During her recent documentary, Vicky expressed her biggest concern was how having a baby could impact on her TV career, which she has finally got to a point she had dreamed of and also shared her worries that she wouldn’t be a good mother.

This is something she later echoed as she and Ercan spoke to Giovanna Fletcher on the latest episode of her podcast, Happy Mum Happy Baby. “I am absolutely terrified, and I’ll cry when I say this, I have a genuine fear that I won’t be good enough to be a mam,” she told the host, and former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here winner.

But Ercan was quick to reassure her, speaking about Vicky’s caring side when it comes to their relationship, and hers with their beloved dogs, Max and Milo. He said: I’ve seen the way you are with the dogs, I’ve seen the way you are with me, she’s going to be unbelievable. She’s incredible.”

A young British toddler has tragically died in Cyprus after falling off a fourth-floor hotel window while on holiday with his parents

A three-year-old British boy has tragically died in Cyprus after falling out of a hotel window while on holiday with his parents.

The child was playing with his father in the corridor on the fourth floor of the hotel at 6pm yesterday when he fell through an open window, according to local media.

The family are believed to have arrived on Saturday and were due to stay at the hotel in the coastal area of Chloraka, near Paphos, until July 25.

In circumstances that are still under investigation, the child fell from an open corridor window and landed on the hotel’s main veranda on the first floor. He died upon arrival at the hospital.

After Cypriot police launched an investigation into the incident, they arrested the 37-year-old father on charges of ‘causing death through negligence, reckless and dangerous actions’.

Local media reported that police were notified of the incident at around 6.40pm, after the child was picked up by an ambulance and taken to Paphos General Hospital.

An autopsy will be carried out this afternoon at the morgue of Nicosia General Hospital.

The father was brought before the Paphos District Court this morning, where officials issued an eight-day detention order.

Emmerdale legend confirms she is returning – sooner than you think | Soaps

Emmerdale legend confirms she is returning - sooner than you think | Soaps
Guess who’s back? (Picture: ITV)

In a list of characters that Emmerdale fans can’t wait to see again, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) is right up at the top of the wish list. Fear not, Dales lovers. That wish is about to be granted!

Victoria left the Dales earlier this year in February, after a deadly confrontation in the woods with her twisted serial killer half-brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) ended when she killed the monster in self defence with his own syringe, before trying to make it look like a suicide and fleeing the scene.

The truth behind John’s death was uncovered by the conniving lord of Home Farm Joe Tate, (Ned Porteous), who blackmailed Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) into framing Moira Dingle with an incriminating video of Victoria doing the bloody deed.

Wrestling with her own guilt over taking a life, Victoria decided to take Harry and flee the Dales, jetting off to Portugal to stay with her former stepmother Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen)

Victoria’s exit came after actress Isabel Hodgins announced she would be taking maternity leave, departing the show after almost two decades in the village.

‘I will miss it.’ Isabel admitted’. I love the people there, but I’ve worked there for 19 years, so I feel like I’ve done what I’ve wanted to do and been selfish with my career. Now, it’s time to devote my life to being a mum, that feels right to me.’

Isabel gave birth to her first child, Georgia, with her husband Adam Whitehead back in February. Her departure left fans eagerly clamouring for the Emmerdale legend’s return.

That return appears to be right around the corner, according to Isabel. The actress posted two photos on Instagram which heavily tease her imminent comeback. The pictures show Isabel posing with the Emmerdale sign in the sunshine, with the flowers fully in bloom.

The soap star also included a video of her pushing her baby daughter Georgia round the village in her stroller, showing her all the sights including the church, the garage, the grave of her on-screen father Jack Sugden. Adam even got in on the fun, taking a ride on the roundabout in the village playground.

‘For the first time, I got to show Georgie (and Adam) around the village that’s been such a huge part of my life.’ Isbobel wrote.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to call this place work since I was 12 years old, so sharing it with my little family meant so much.

‘GG’s verdict? She’d quite happily move in.’

The post had fans buzzing with excitement within seconds. One user said: ‘Are you going to be back on our screens very soon?’

A second shared: ‘Come back!’

A third added: ‘Already? Wow! Fantastic news.’

Fans weren’t the only ones anticipating Isabel’s return. Chris Coghill, who plays eccentric hardman newcomer Kev Townsend , joked that he’d notified the relevant authorities about his co-stars comeback.

‘Just so you know, I’ve alerted security’ Christ posted.

Isabel’s rumoured return comes amid the shocking exit of Jack Downham (Noah Tate), which has just been freshly announced after the characters’ 17 years in the show.

This is the latest departure in a major cast shake up where four other actors and actresses are set to bow of the the ITV soap . This includes Jimmy King (Nick Miles), Olivia Bromley (Dawn Taylor), Bradley Johnson (Vinnie Dingle), and Caroline Harker, whose character, the villainous Doctor Todd, has already been killed off.

Victoria’s return is sure to set the cat among the pigeons now there’s a new addition to the Sugden clan in the form of Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), who seemed to have a strange interest in John Sugden the moment she set foot in the village. Given the fact that Serena was recently revealed to be a copper, this can only spell bad news for Victoria.

Brit, 64, dies after sliding down Ibiza hotel water slide in front of his wife and daughter

A British tourist has died at a hotel in Ibiza after coming down the water slide at his hotel and failing to surface.

The 64-year-old is understood to have lost his life in front of relatives including his wife and daughter who were staying with him on a family holiday.

Paramedics and other emergency personnel raced to the scene after he was spotted in difficulties in the pool at the unnamed hotel in the popular resort of Cala Tarida on the west coast of the Spanish island.

He was given CPR and treated with a defibrillator by hotel staff to try to restore his natural heart rhythm after they confirmed he had gone into cardiac arrest before paramedics took over when they arrived.

But attempts to save his life proved unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred at around 11.30am on Saturday and a police investigation is ongoing.

A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed this morning: ‘A British holidaymaker aged 64 has died following an incident at a hotel in Cala Tarida in Ibiza on Saturday morning.

‘Officers are reporting to a local court.’

Police sent to the scene say they didn’t notice any apparent blow injuries on the man’s body which would point towards him hitting something on the slide or in the water.

The unnamed British man was pronounced dead at 12.30pm on Saturday, around an hour after the alarm was first raised.

A well-placed source said: ‘The post-mortem will help determine if this man suffered some sort of health problem before he entered the water.

‘He had entered the pool via a water slide.

‘He was staying at the hotel with relatives including his wife and a daughter.’

Cala Tarida is in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. The nearest village is Santa Agnes de Corona.

Four children from the UK drowned last month in pools in Spain.

One was a three-year-old rushed to hospital after being found ‘floating face-down’ in her holiday pool in Majorca the previous evening.

The little girl was revived by the poolside of the family’s rented four-bed villa in Pollensa in the north of the island following the drama around 8pm on June 24.

Her parents rescued her from the water and police and then paramedics took over from them by giving her CPR at the scene after they arrived.

But she was still said to be in a ‘very serious’ condition at Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma the following morning following her first night in hospital after being admitted with a very weak pulse.

It was later confirmed that tragically the child had lost her fight for life.

The Daily Mail has contacted the UK’s foreign office for comment.

The surprising health benefits of having orange hair

Published

on

The surprising health benefits of having orange hair

The gene behind orange-red hair seen in a section of people may also provide some health advantages by protecting the cells that produce the pigment, a new study suggests.

The protein building-block molecule cysteine is essential for the body to make proteins, but its levels must be kept low within cells, below the threshold of toxicity.

An excessive accumulation of cystine within cells has been recognised as the cause of a form of cell death.

Meanwhile, the orange-red pigment found in human red hair and in some bird feathers – called pheomelanin – is made using cysteine.

For a long time, the pigment has presented an evolutionary puzzle, with previous research linking it to a higher risk of skin cancer even without UV radiation exposure.

It has remained unclear why traits that encourage pheomelanin production, such as orange hair, have persisted over time.

Researchers have now found that producing this pigment may actually protect health by drawing down excess cysteine in cells, preventing the molecules from causing any damage.

“These findings represent the first experimental demonstration of a physiological role for pheomelanin,” they explain in the study published in the journal PNAS Nexus.

The latest research was possible thanks to a recent discovery of a molecule, ML349, that could block pheomelanin synthesis in the body.

In the study, scientists assessed 65 adult zebra finches, whose orange beaks contain pheomelanin.

The 65 birds were divided into a treatment group and a control group.

In the treatment group, male zebra finches were given dietary cysteine along with ML349, a drug that blocks pheomelanin synthesis.

Male birds that received both cysteine and ML349 showed more serious cell damage than males that received cysteine alone.

Scientists found that pheomelanin production seemed to help cells keep cysteine levels in balance.

Female birds given cysteine alone also tended to show more cell-level damage than controls.

The findings suggest pheomelanin production in the body helps maintain cysteine balance by converting excess cysteine into an inert pigment that doesn’t damage cells.

“These results demonstrate that pheomelanin synthesis avoids cellular damage by excreting excess cysteine to inert keratinous structures such as feathers,” scientists wrote.

This protective role, according to researchers, could be why pheomelanin-promoting genetic traits remain in populations, even though there are associated melanoma risks.

“These findings prove a role of pheomelanin in cysteine homeostasis, opening a better understanding of melanoma risk through environmental factors affecting cysteine availability,” scientists wrote.

Picture of Jeffrey and Eleanor Donaldson placed on South Belfast bonfire

Belfast Live

The banner appeared on Sunday afternoon, hours before the bonfire was set alight

A picture of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife Eleanor was placed on a South Belfast bonfire hours before it was set alight.

The banner was placed on the Sandy Row pyre on Sunday afternoon, July 12, wich was set alight at midnight. Jeffrey Donaldson, the former DUP leader, was convicted last month of 18 sex offences against two women when they were children, including one count of rape.

His wife, Eleanor, was foudn to have aided and abetted his offending during a trial of the facts at Newry Crown Court.

Bonfires were lit throughout the weekend across Northern Ireland, with the final ones lit at midnight on Sunday into Monday morning, July 13, ahead of the main Twelfth demonstrations.

Donaldson historically marched with the Ballinran Orange Lodge in Kilkeel and once held the position of Assistant Grand Master in the Orange Order. His membership of the Order was terminated with immediate effect following his guilty verdict last month.

Earlier this week, the former Lagan Valley MP was removed from his position on the Privy Council. The Privy Council is one of the oldest parts of the UK government, dating back to Norman times.

It exists to advise the monarch and has more than 600 members, but most meetings are only attended by a handful of members. Its membership is mostly made up of senior politicians including cabinet ministers.

The Northern Ireland Assembly has also launched a review into any alleged abuse or inappropriate behaviour by Jeffrey Donaldson while he was a Stormont MLA or a visitor to Parliament Buildings.

The Assembly Commission said the review would provide a “safe and supported” process for anyone who directly experienced abuse or inappropriate behaviour by Donaldson during his time as an elected representative or visitor to the Stormont estate.

It will be led by the Director of Parliamentary Services, who is also the Assembly’s Senior Safeguarding Officer, with guidance from experts in trauma-informed practices.

Bet365 are among the biggest gambling operators in the world, boasting one of the top betting sites and casino platforms, but having got to the top of the mountain, they don’t rest on their laurels.

The welcome offer for their online casino is unmatched as far as free spins go, with bettors able to claim up to 500 free spins over the first 10 days of having a bet365 account.

The bet365 slot library isn’t the biggest, but they have titles from all the big providers, and what I really like about the platform is that everything just works, no matter what device you are using.

There are regular slot promotions, such as slot tournaments and prize giveaways, so there’s plenty to keep bettors coming back to bet365.

  • Up to 500 free spins spread over 10 days – one of the longest welcome bonus structures on the UK market.
  • Regular slot-related casino bonuses.
  • Brilliant functionality on all devices.
  • Bettors may not get close to 500 free spins with the welcome bonus.
  • Smaller slot library than rivals.

The Sky Vegas welcome offer is one of the few on the UK market still featuring no-deposit registration spins, which is a standout. New customers receive 50 free spins on sign-up before any deposit, plus a further 200 spins after a £10 deposit and a £10 wager.

Of course, there is a catch – free spins are restricted to Jackpot King titles only, which limits where the bonus can be played.

Sky Vegas has a few ongoing promotions, with existing players getting a daily shot at up to £1,000 cash through the free Sky Vegas Prize Machine, which includes secondary prizes such as free spins and free bets.

It is easy to filter through Sky Vegas casino’s collection of slot titles, helping bettors pick out games based on RTP, volatility, game themes and more. On the whole, the website is modern, responsive, and easy to navigate.

This also applies to the Sky Vegas Casino app, which is rated highly on both iOS and Android – 4.4 and 4.1 respectively.

There’s strong cross-product integration with Sky Bet for sportsbook crossovers, if that tickles your fancy.

  • No-deposit welcome offer, which can be improved with a small deposit.
  • Sky Vegas Prize Machine offers decent prizes.
  • User-friendly website and app.
  • Welcome offer free spins are restricted to Jackpot King titles only.
  • E-wallets aren’t currently supported, whilst withdrawals can take a while sometimes.
  • Live tables offering is lacking compared to rivals.

A prominent name in the UK gambling space, Ladbrokes have recently improved their welcome offer with the addition of 300 Ladbucks to go with 100 free spins. Ladbucks can be used to buy rewards, including more free spins.

It’s a solid welcome offer, although it does exclude common e-wallets such as Neteller, PayPal, Paysafecard and Skrill on the qualifying deposit.

There’s plenty of variety with 5,700+ titles to play – including over 1,800 classic slots, and Ladbrokes ranks as one of the best payout casinos online due to them running nine out of 10 slot games at the highest RTP possible.

Ladbrokes scores highly among slot sites for return value, largely thanks to a good choice of promotions such as cashback and reload bonuses, as well as regular slot tournaments. Instant spins also rewards players for returning daily.

  • 1,800+ slots from big providers such as Pragmatic Play, Big Time Gaming, Playtech, and Red Tiger.
  • Good choice of promotions, with two instant reward offers, alongside regular slot tournaments.
  • App rated 4.6 and 4.4 on iOS and Android respectively.
  • Average-to-slow withdrawals – Withdrawals via Visa Fast Funds clear in around four hours, e-wallets can take up to 8 hours.
  • Desktop experience feels cluttered and can be quite hard to navigate.

The first thing to point out is that LeoVegas’ welcome offer of 50 no-wagering free spins is quite modest in volume compared to market rivals listed on this page. There’s also just 72 hours to use the spins before they expire.

That being said, there is a strong collection of progressive jackpot slots with millions in prize money up for grabs. There are more opportunities to land a big win via the popular slots tournament, Drops & Wins, which can be entered via LeoVegas.

Slot players will enjoy LeoVegas’ Game of the Week promotion. Customers who wager £20 on selected games will receive 10 free spins on that week’s title.

Once named mobile operator of the year in 2019, LeoVegas’ app remains strong and highly rated by users.

Payments – both deposits and withdrawals – could be processed faster, particularly with PayPal.

  • Game of the Week promotion provides decent return value.
  • Strong collection of the best progressive jackpot slots with big prize money pools.
  • Strong app with a clean design for users.
  • Modest welcome offer of 50 free spins, with tight 72-hour expiry window.
  • Weak ongoing promotions outside of Game of the Week.

888 Casino provides a healthy welcome offer, with a deposit bonus of £100 when joining. This is fairly simple to claim: players must deposit and wager at least £10 to claim the bonus.

However, there are quite restrictive terms, as players must complete wagering requirements on slots within 48 hours of the qualifying deposit.

Outside of the welcome offer, existing players can chase daily prizes via Jackpot Drop, with prize funds worth up to £30,000 a day. There’s over 2,000 titles featured on the 888 Casino, the majority of them slot titles.

Daily Wish is a fairly standard daily reward wheel, where by simply logging into your account, you get a free spin of the wheel once a day. You can receive bonuses, free spins, and even cash.

  • Highly rated app on iOS with 4.5-star rating based on 48,700 reviews – the largest sample on this page.
  • Comp Points rewards that convert to real cash rather than just bonus funds.
  • Reports of delayed withdrawals from punters.
  • Tight window of 48 hours to use the welcome offer.
  • No phone support – just live chat and email options.

The BOYLE Casino welcome offer is tiered. A £20 wager unlocks 20 no-wagering free spins, scaling up to 50 spins for £50, all the way up to £100 for the full 100 spins. It’s a scalable offer to suit several budgets, although the top outlay is significant to unlock all 100 free spins.

There’s another caveat that the free spins are locked to certain games, which you can choose at sign-up.

Other casino features include slot tournaments, weekly giveaways of either cash, free spins or golden chips, and the free-to-play game BOYLE’s All Stars, where players can win free spins.

There are some exclusive online slots titles at BOYLE Casino, including their version of Big Bass Splash that you won’t find elsewhere. That being said, whilst the slot library contains all the big names, it is slightly smaller than some rivals on this list.

The app is combined with BOYLE Sports, and although well designed, it is clear that the operator’s sportsbook is the priority.

  • Welcome offer scales up, offering customers flexibility.
  • Exclusive titles to BOYLE Casino.
  • Frequent offers and slot tournaments boost return value.
  • Mixed reviews of sportsbook-focused app – rated 3.7 (iOS) and 3.2 (Android) with reports of glitches.
  • Restrictions on free spins with some offers

In terms of raw value, the MrQ Casino welcome offer is one of the most generous among UK slot sites. New customers receive 200 no-wagering free spins, handed out in increments of 50 per day across four days. Remember that the MrQ bonus code POTS200 is needed at sign-up to qualify for the welcome offer.

MrQ Casino is an award-winning online slots site, where existing players benefit from MrQ’s reputation for transparency on game info and Return-to-Player (RTPs). There’s also fast access to new Megaways slot releases, often before they appear on rival casino sites.

So confident are MrQ Casino that all withdrawals are processed instantly, the operator gives bettors £10 in cash as part of their instant withdrawal guarantee.

On the flip side, the lack of ongoing promotions is fairly disappointing. If you’re an Android user you’re out of luck when it comes to an app – as there is no app available on the Google Playstore.

  • Fast withdrawals – £10 in cash as part of the instant withdrawal guarantee.
  • 200 no-wagering free spins on joining
  • New Megaways releases are commonly available to play first on MrQ.
  • Very few promotions.
  • Low-rated app on iOS (3.5 stars) and there is no Android app.

Mr Vegas Casino has the biggest slots library on this list, with over 8,000 games available.

The Mr Vegas welcome offer pairs a 100 per cent deposit match up to £50 with 11 free spins. The deposit match portion of the offer carries a 10x wagering requirement, while the free spins component is no-wagering with any winnings paid out as cash.

Despite the combination, the £50 max deposit match and 11 free spins is a smaller welcome offer than several competitors.

Mr Vegas’ promotions for existing players are a bit light – especially when compared to larger sister slot sites, Videoslots and Mega Riches

But Mr Vegas’s reward system, called Rainbow Fridays, is a nice touch. Rainbow Fridays pays out up to £300 each week, depending on the total number of bets made during the week.

  • Weekly rewards from Rainbow Fridays pays out up to £300 each week.
  • Over 8,000 games offered from 170+ providers.
  • Sparse catalogue of existing promotions, especially compared to sister brands.
  • No app provided.

The Magical Vegas Casino welcome offer is not as strong as it seems on first glance.

The 100 free spins expire after seven days and are locked to one title – The Goonies Megaways Quest for Treasure Jackpot King – and there’s a £200 max win-cap.

Where Magical Vegas Casino excels as a slot site is with its strong collection of promotions for existing customers, including daily free spins and a Pick-a-Chip mystery box mechanic.

There’s also regular slot tournaments with sizeable prize pools, encouraging return users. At the time of the review, they are running a £40k cash drops tournament.

We also like the 15-minute withdrawal pledge, which helps to make Magical Vegas one of the top PayPal casinos.

  • Strong offering of ongoing promotions and regular slot tournaments.
  • Exclusive slot tournaments
  • Strong selection of jackpot and Megaways slots
  • Restricted welcome offer.
  • No app available.

The Betfred Casino app is one of the highest-rated among online slot sites with 4.6 stars on iOS across 55,900-plus reviews and 4.3 stars on Android.

The Betfred welcome offer lets the player choose between 50, 100 or 200 no-wagering free spins on different slots, offering flexibility depending on how much you want to wager per spin.

Betfred Casino’s free-to-play game, the Prize Reel, has a top prize of 50 free spins and can be played once per day. There’s also an upgraded Prize Reel game for bettors who wagered £10 or more the day before.

We particularly liked the Free Spins Accumulator, where existing customers can win up to 200 free spins a week on £10 stakes. The Comp Points loyalty scheme converts points into to cash, free spins or Golden Chips, rewarding regular players.

  • Welcome offer is flexible.
  • Plenty of additional rewards for playing games, such as the upgraded Prize Reel and Free Spins Accumulator.
  • Promotions tailored to slot games

What changed for UK slots in 2026

Since January 2026, the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) has capped wagering requirements on casino bonuses at a maximum of 10x. This change benefits bettors, as wagering requirements between 30x and 65x were common across the UK market.

All offers on this page reflect the new rules – no offer above 10x is permitted, as well as the mixed bonus ban.

Operators cannot bundle free bets from a sportsbook and casino promotions into a single offer. This means that slot welcome offers must now be casino-only.

Players are encouraged to still check eligible games, what the max bet is with bonus funds, free spin expiry windows and excluded deposit methods before claiming any welcome offer.

What to look for in a slot bonus

There are five things you should prioritise when considering any slot offers.

One of the more obvious ways to gauge the value of any slot bonus is the wgering requirements. Since the rule changes in January, 10x wagering requirements is the new ceiling but some slot sites don’t include any wagering on their offers, which is a big boost to customers.

A cap on the amount of winnings from free spins should also be a consideration. For example, bettors may receive hundreds of free spins but winning may be capped at £100.

You should also bear in mind that free spins are usually tied to eligible games, potentially just one slot game or a small pool of titles. Some of these games have high volatility or lower than average RTP rates.

Another factor to consider is free spin expiry. 24, 48 or 72 hours is not unusual, but sometimes an operator is generous with 30 days to use up any free spins. In some cases, free spins are awarded on a daily basis, meaning they have different expiry dates.

Finally, consider excluded deposit methods. Slot sites do exclude certain banking options, such as PayPal, Skrill or Neteller from qualifying deposits. Those seeking a pay by mobile casino or a Paysafecard slot site will need to look even harder.

Any online slots sites on this page are fully licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. The Standard’s betting experts will never include an unlicensed operator. We then consider slot sites based on the following six criteria:

  • Welcome offer real value: The real value of a welcome offer lies behind the headline figures. We consider the potential returns on a £10 or £20 deposit, the wagering requirements, and other potential restrictions such as max win limits and expiry windows.
  • Slot library depth and variety: Not only do we consider the total game count of an operator, but also its depth across classics, Megaways, jackpot and exclusive title.
  • Ongoing promotions for existing players: Whether a slot site runs regular offers and promotions for existing customers can be just as important as a strong welcome bonus. We prioritise operators that give bettors a little extra value.
  • Deposits and withdrawals: We look at which methods are accepted, the withdrawal speed by payment type, and what minimum deposit and withdrawal limits there are.
  • Mobile experience: We compare the ease and speed of site navigation on desktop and mobile, app availability, ratings on iOS and Android, loading times and stability during play.
  • Responsible gambling tooling: We consider how easy slot sites make it to find and use their safer gambling tools, such as deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks, self-exclusion options. We also check for visible signposting to GamStop, GamCare and GambleAware.

New online casinos hit the UK market on a regular basis, giving slot fans somewhere new to go and spin the reels. Here are some of the better spots to play online slots that have gone live in recent years:

247Bet Casino launched in 2025 with 3,000+ games available once live. There’s also a 20-tier VIP programme, the deepest tiered loyalty on the UK market. Regular customers can receive daily rewards from the booster wheel.

Bally offer a no-wagering welcome bonus as well as a daily free-to-play game with cash prizes. There are also free-to-enter slot tournaments from a slot provider that has a big reputation in the United States.

Launched in 2023, Pub Casino have a huge library of slot games, perfect for their welcome offer of no-wagering free spins with no win cap.

Classic slots are what you picture when you think of a slot game. Three reels, simple paylines, and low volatility. Iconic symbols such as fruits, sevens, and bells are common for a reason. Examples include Fire Joker and 7s on Fire. These types of online slots are a potential entry point for newcomers to slot games.

Video slots expand on the classic slot concept, featuring five reels, multiple paylines, advanced graphics, and bonus features. Video slots now make up the majority of every modern slot library. Common examples include Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest, and Big Bass Bonanza.

Progressive jackpot slots

Progressive jackpot slots pool contributions from players across multiple sites into a shared prize fund that grows until one lucky winner wins the lot. Tiered jackpot systems, such as Mega Moolah, offer multiple prize levels.

The best progressive jackpot slots prizes can reach tens of millions, with players contributing across many slot sites.

Megaways slots feature a random reel modifier system and up to six reels with variable symbol displays, creating anywhere from 64 to 117,649 paylines. RTPs are typically above 96%, but high volatility means less frequent wins. There are Megaways versions of popular games, like Bonanza and Rainbow Riches.

Online slots at UKGC-licensed sites are not rigged.

Every slot uses a Random Number Generator (RNG) that produces statistically random outcomes on every spin. Operators cannot influence results, and previous spins do not affect the next one. Providers are independent of operators

RNGs and game RTPs are audited via independent testing carried out by third-party agencies including eCOGRA, iTech Labs and GLI. For confidence, look for the audit logo in the footer of a slot site.

Licensed operators must publish RTP figures and route disputes through the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) to the UKGC, who carry out random spot checks.

UKGC-licensed UK slot sites are required to provide a baseline set of responsible gambling tools.

These include deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks, and self-exclusion tools. Most also integrate with GAMSTOP for permanent self-exclusion.

The Standard recommends setting a deposit limit when you create your account, taking regular breaks during play, and treating any winnings as bonus rather than expected returns.

Just like all forms of gambling, slots are a form of entertainment, and not a reliable source of income.

You can find free support around the clock, such as calling GamCare on 0808 8020 133, visiting GambleAware.org, or GAMSTOP, which provides free self-exclusion across all UK-licensed gambling sites.

Most UK slot sites offer free spins as part of their welcome bonus. Deposit match bonuses are becoming less common as a sign up promotion since the cap on wagering requirements.

Free spins promotions are run regularly by certain online casinos outside of welcome offers.
