Thursday, July 16, is predicted to be the warmest day of the week
The sunny and warm weather will be here to stay for another week in Northern Ireland, the Met Office has said.
The forcaster has given its weather outlook for the week beginning Monday, July 13, saying that the sunshine and clear skies will continue and temperatures reaching the mid-twenties.
Thursday, July 16, is predicted to be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures reaching 24 degrees.
The Met Office has said that humidity will be at 80% or more throughout the week and there will be a high pollen count, particularly on Thursday.
It said in its outlook for Monday: “Any early low cloud in the east will quickly clear. Otherwise, a dry day with plenty of sunshine and feeling very warm again.”
The Met Office forecast for the rest of the week said: “A dry few days with good spells of sunshine and remaining very warm or hot.”
In the Republic, Met Eireann has issued a fresh Status Yellow high temperature warning as the sweltering conditions which have gripped the country in recent days are forecast to continue for the week ahead.
A new heat record for Ireland was set this week after temperatures climbed to 30C over the weekend. It marked for the first time since records began that Ireland has hit 30C in three months in the one year following scorching conditions in May, June and July of this year.
Met Eireann has confirmed that temperatures will widely reach the mid to high 20s by day this week, with warm and possibly tropical nights, with the national forecaster issuing a new heat warning for six counties which will come into effect on Monday.
The Status Yellow High Temperature warning has been issued for counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Mayo, and will run from 1pm on Monday until 7am on Wednesday morning.
