The Minnesota Vikings have approximately 25-30 quarterback options in the open market this offseason, as the franchise seeks to add veteran oomph behind third-year passer J.J. McCarthy. Near the top of the list lives Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals, and according to reports, Minnesota won’t even need to trade draft capital to get him.
A release would let Minnesota pursue Murray while keeping draft capital intact for roster upgrades elsewhere.
It’s becoming increasingly likely that Arizona will flat-out release the 28-year-old.

A Kyler Murray Release Would Change Minnesota’s Plan
Minnesota’s quarterback choice nears.

Murray Likely to Be Released, Not Traded
Talking on ESPN airwaves, former NFLer Booger McFarlan opined on Murray late last week, “Realistically, I don’t think anybody’s going to trade for Kyler Murray. He’s gotten to a point right now where when you look at him as a 5’-10″-maybe quarterback who struggled throwing from the pocket. Yeah, he’s athletic, but he’s been hurt. I just think the market for him to go to another team is going to be small.”
“It’s clear the Arizona Cardinals don’t want Murray anymore. So, asking Monti Ossenfort to go into his David Copperfield hat and pull something out, I think I know he’s good. I don’t think he can do magic. So, to ask him to go and pull out a third, a fourth, or a fifth-round pick, I don’t know if you can give Murray away right now.”
Revenge of the Birds‘ Barry Schuck added, “The ESPN Insiders are giving Murray a 5% chance of Murray getting traded to any NFL club. Rumors regarding moving him began right before the NFL trade deadline last year, but that came and went.”
“The whole roadblock is that mammoth contract Murray was given that every Arizona fan shouted was a huge mistake at the time of the signing. This story appears to be getting some footing regarding Murray wanting his outright release. And now, it appears some of it is coming from the Murray camp itself.”
Basically a Free QB in 2026
Murray signed the mega $230 million extension in 2022, and his guaranteed money has not run out. Put plainly, he’s still owed $36.8 million from the Cardinals — no matter what. Typically in the situation, because it’s not secret leaguewide that the player has been paid, the man signs a small contract with his new team after the release.
For example, in 2024, when the Denver Broncos cut ties with Russell Wilson, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers for just over a million bucks because Denver had paid him for that season. That’s what’s going on with Murray in this scenario.
A trade, on the other hand, would put Minnesota, or any other team, on the hook for Murray’s remaining contract. That’s why it’s so crucial for Arizona to release him — if you want your favorite team to snatch Murray. A roster cut makes Murray free in NFL speak for 2026.
All the Tools
If Minnesota’s choice is between Murray and a lower-ceiling bridge quarterback, the superior option is clear. Murray’s statistics speak for themselves. Over a 17-game season, he averages roughly 3,997 passing yards, 30 total touchdowns, 11 interceptions, a 67.1% completion rate, and 623 rushing yards.

Moreover, his career EPA+CPOE surpasses those of Baker Mayfield and Trevor Lawrence, demonstrating consistent production over multiple seasons.

Admittedly, Murray has reached the playoffs only once in his seven years with Arizona. His team’s record hasn’t always reflected his individual talent.
But Murray possesses undeniable skills. He can throw the ball 65–70 yards, previously ran a 4.38, and demonstrates exceptional accuracy. He’s far more than just a novelty or a limited passer.
While he might not be a seamless fit for Kevin O’Connell’s system, the decision hinges on the alternatives. If the Vikings’ choice is between Murray and a quarterback in the mold of Jimmy Garoppolo, the potential outcomes are vastly different — a point even Murray’s detractors would likely concede.
Will Vikings Recognize the Value?
Then, the main event: the Vikings must decide if Murray’s so-called aloof attitude is a legitimate character defect or a product of the Cardinals’ culture. The NFLPA leaked the annual report cards last week, and Arizona’s ownership received an ‘F’ grade.

Some fans have also questioned Murray’s scheme fit within O’Connell’s system. He’s not elite by the numbers throwing over the middle; can O’Connell accommodate Murray’s strengths, or will he remain rigid enough to tell the guy with 4.38 speed, supreme arm strength, and elite passing accuracy … no thanks.
If the Cardinals drop Murray, making him suddenly free to 31 teams, the Vikings, needing a quarterback, almost have to sign him due to the value.
Alex Pretti’s mother, Susan, shared a heartfelt note on Instagram on what would have been her son’s 38th birthday. The ICU nurse was fatally shot by the US Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis on January 24 this year.
Alex Pretti was in Minnesota when he was being restrained by some Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents before being fatally shot. He became the second US citizen to have been killed by ICE agents in January, after Renee Nicole Good in Minnesota. It led to a huge backlash and protests against the organization.
On Sunday, March 1, Pretti’s mother, Susan Pretti, shared a story on Instagram about her son’s birthday. She shared a picture of him with the caption:
“Today should be your 38th birthday… When you lose your son, you lose more than a child. You lose a piece of your heart and your joy. Life is forever altered and nothing can ever fill that space. Yet in my soul, he remains, my precious boy, forever loved. His laughter, his smile and his love are woven into who I am.”
“My love for him will never fade. You are my pride and my joy. You’ve made a chance that cannot be broken,” she added.
Blogger Perez Hilton has reacted to this post from Susan on his website, writing:
“Ugh!! Just devastating!! So, so heartbreaking. Our thoughts continue to be with Susan and the rest of the loved ones Alex left behind. He will always be remembered.”
Alex Pretti is survived by his parents, Susan and Michael, and his sister, whose name hasn’t been publicly revealed. He also has an ex-wife, Rachel Canoun.

Alex Pretti’s parents, Susan and Michael, reportedly live in Colorado and got to know about their son’s death through the Associated Press. Following his death, they also gave an interview to the outlet, expressing their grief, but also anger at the alleged lies being spread against him. They also revealed that they had last spoken to their son two days before his death.
Susan and Michael’s statement read:
“The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand, and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper-sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.”
After Alex Pretti’s death, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE claimed that agents shot him in self-defense. They stated that he was carrying a gun when he was restrained.
However, it was later revealed that Pretti had a valid permit for his firearm. Moreover, videos released from the incident showed that he never brandished his gun against any officer. He only had his phone in his hand when he was being restrained.
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly wants Manchester City midfielder Rodri if he’s to take over at Real Madrid next season. The German hasn’t been in a management role since leaving Livepool in the summer of 2024.
Los Blancos are currently being overseen by former defender Alvaro Arbeloa, but results under the Spaniard have been patchy despite the club beating Benfica in the knockout play-offs to reach the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Thanks for the submission!

The Merengues are coming off a disappointing 1-0 La Liga home defeat at Getafe at the weekend, keeping them four points behind leaders Barcelona with 12 games left.
As speculation about Arbeloa’s long-term future mounts, as per Football 365, Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, Klopp, has emerged as a strong contender to succeed Arbeloa. As per reports in the Spanish media, the German has asked for four departures and as many new signings, including Rodri, which is said to be a ‘non-negotiable’ one.
Fran Garcia, Dani Ceballos, Franco Mastantuono and David Alaba are reported to be the four players to face the axe. In terms of incomings, apart from Rodri, Klopp would also like to have Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha and Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, a Liverpool target.
Rodri, who came up through the ranks at Real’s arch-rivals Atletico, is said to be unwilling to extend his stay at the Etihad beyond the expiry of his current deal in 2027.
However, as per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Klopp is “fully committed” to his current role at Red Bull and that there have been no “direct negotiations” from the Madrid board to bring the German on board.

What’s next for Real Madrid?

Following their 2-1 UEFA Champions League knockout play-off second-leg home win in midweek over Benfica to complete a 3-1 aggregate win, Real Madrid failed to continue their winning momentum, losing to Getafe at home.
Los Blancos will look to return to winning ways when they visit Celta Vigo in the league on Friday (March 6) as they look to close the gap on La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Following that game, Alvaro Arbeloa’s side host Manchester City in a blockbuster Champions League Round of 16 first leg on Wednesday (March 11) before the return at the Etihad six days later. Los Blancos lost 2-1 at home to the Cityzens in the league phase of the competition in December.
When will Tiger Woods make his return to pro golf? It’s one of the biggest unanswered questions for the 2026 season. Woods is working his way back from his latest surgery and has largely kept quiet about his progress.
That changed on Sunday night, when Woods answered a direct question about when he’ll return to the course. But rather than clear things up, Tiger’s cryptic response instead opened up more questions.
Here’s what you need to know.
Woods talks Masters return at TGL match
Last October, Woods underwent his seventh back surgery, putting his return to pro golf in doubt.
As a result, Tiger did not play the 2026 Cognizant Classic, which ended on Sunday, and he hasn’t teed it up on the PGA Tour at all in 2026. But Woods did make a televised appearance at competition involving pro golfers on Sunday: his Jupiter Links TGL team’s latest match.
Tiger didn’t play in the match Sunday night. Instead, he was there to cheer on his team. The support didn’t seem to help much, as Jupiter lost to Boston Common Golf Club 7-6. Currently ranked fifth out of six teams, Tiger’s squad is at risk of missing the playoffs for the second-straight year.
At one point during the match, Tiger was interviewed on the ESPN broadcast. Eventually, the question was posed to the 15-time major winner: how close are you to returning to competitive golf?
That’s when Tiger offered up his confusing response.
“Playing a Member-Guest, I’m good to go,” Woods said, smiling.
Given the confident way Tiger delivered his remark, you may think he was implying his return is imminent. But his “Member-Guest” reference alters that conclusion. Given the timing of his comments Sunday, Woods could be referring to the Seminole Pro-Member, an exclusive event he regularly plays in that is going down Monday.
Here’s the problem: Tiger is not in the field at this year’s Seminole-Pro Member. So if he was referring to that event when he said “Member-Guest,” that would suggest he is not yet “good to go.”

When Tiger Woods could make his pro golf return in 2026
The most likely place Woods will make the first start of his return is the 2026 Masters. Tiger has returned from injury at the Masters in the past. And as a five-time Masters champion, it’s widely understood that if he is healthy enough to play the Masters, he will. If he does, it will be his first pro start since the 2024 Open Championship.
Woods provided an earlier update on his health during a different TGL match in late January.
“I’m moving up to short irons, so that’s about it,” Woods said. “I need a little bit more than that to be able to play [on TGL]. At my speed right now, I could probably play the Stinger hole. Just kind of roll it off the tee. But no, I’m progressing, which is nice. I’m getting there and getting stronger. It’s just one of those things where it just takes so much time for the bone to heal and the bone to set.”
Then two weeks ago at the Genesis Invitiational, which he hosts, Woods gave more detail on his progress.
“It’s just one of those things where each and every day, I keep trying, I keep progressing, I keep working on it, trying to get stronger, trying to get more endurance in this body and trying to get it at a level at which I can play at the highest level again,” Woods said at Riviera.
The Masters gets underway Thursday, April 9, which would give Woods four more weeks to prep his body and game to make the start. As a past champion, he has an automatic invite to play the Masters for the rest of his life. That means he doesn’t technically need to commit until right before the tournament begins.
Rumors have swirled that Woods could play on the senior tour in 2026 now that he’s 50 years old and eligible. A big benefit of the PGA Tour Champions for Tiger is that he would be permitted to use a golf cart, which would be easier on his body.
After this week, there are only two PGA Tour Champions events left on the schedule before the 2026 Masters: the Cologuard Classic from March 20-22 in Arizona and the Hoag Classic from March 27-29 in Rhode Island.
Here is every transaction for the Los Angeles Dodgers for the entire 2026 season, starting with the first day of spring training through the end of the team’s postseason run.
We will keep track of every single transaction involving the 40-man roster here, including players getting called up or sent down to the minor leagues, as well as signings, trades, waiver claims, getting designated for assignment, or released.

Also here will be every injured list stint, though we will also tract all the IL moves in their own post. We’ll also have another post that keeps track of minor league options, with a limit of five times a player can be optioned to the minors beginning after opening day.

Best Light Cones for Sparxie in Honkai Star Rail

Dazzled by a Flowery World
Today’s Good Luck
Mushy Shroomy’s Adventure
Sparxie’s signature Light Cone, Dazzled by a Flowery World, is her BiS (Best in Slot). The LC can significantly boost the character’s outgoing damage by increasing her CRIT DMG. On top of that, it can grant her team additional SPs depending on how many Elation units are in the composition. If you are planning to build a team with four Elation characters, then you should be pulling this Light Cone.
Besides Sparxie’s signature, you can get the new battle pass LC, Today’s Good Luck for the character. It can boost her CRIT Rate and Elation simultaneously, increasing her damage output by a substantial amount.
Lastly, the free-to-play LC, Mushy Shroomy’s Adventure, is also a good option for Sparxie. Since you can easily upgrade it to S5, it’s a better choice if you don’t want to spend Stellar Jade to purchase the Battle Pass. Mushy Shroomy’s Adventure grants Sparxie extra Elation and boosts her Elation damage at the same time.

Relic sets
The Ever-Glorious Magical Girl set (Image via HoYoverse)
Ever-Glorious Magical Girl
Currently, Ever-Glorious Magical Girl is the only Relic set that Sparxie can use. It can boost her CRIT DMG and allows her to ignore the opponent’s DEF. Moreover, for every 5 punchline stacks, the set enables Sparxie to ignore a certain percentage of the target’s DEF.
Planar Ornament sets
The Tengoku@Livestream set (Image via HoYoverse)
Tengoku@Livestream
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
The Tengoku@Livestream is the best Planar Ornament set for Sparxie. Since she can consume a significant number of SPs, the set will grant her extra CRIT DMG when she uses 3 or more Skill Points while attacking.
Alternatively, the Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm set is a decent choice as it will grant Sparxie some additional ATK and CRIT DMG. The only downside of this ornament set is that the ceiling is not that high compared to Tengoku@Livestream.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch Episode 1 of the TaylorMade Tour fitting experience with Adrian Rietveld, I would encourage you to watch it here. The video will give you an appreciation for the level of detail Tour fitters provide to ensure that any club they put in a player’s hands is done so strategically.
Like a world-class chess player, a great fitter (like Rietveld, who fits Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, among other stars) will make strategic moves to poke and prod a player into the right setup. It’s a craft that takes years to perfect and, no, it’s not a “who knows the data” contest — it’s a listening and watching contest. Great clubs help but I’ve seen the best fitters overcome shortcomings of certain products.
After our fitting (which you can watch in the video below), I asked Adrian to give me a synopsis of what he discovered fitting me for the first time. I left The Kingdom that day thinking the process went well but it was important to me to get an honest take from the man himself. It’s not often that a fitter will sit down and journal his thoughts after the fact so this was a unique opportunity to get in AD’s head.
I hope you learn a lot from what he wrote below — it’s insightful stuff.

Inside Johnny Wunder’s TaylorMade driver fitting
by Adrian Rietveld, TaylorMade Senior Manager PGA Tour
As a fitter, what I learned about Johnny is that he’s incredibly athletic but also seasoned in years with deeply ingrained habits. For that reason, I deliberately avoided anything overly technical or instructional during the fitting. My role was purely to optimize the equipment to match his exact physical characteristics, swing traits and swing tendencies — no more, no less. When giving instructional advice, I only went as far as tee height.
I made a conscious point to take Johnny as far as possible away from his typical miss. This approach immediately settled him, removing any anxiety and helping him trust the club in his hands. Johnny’s standout strengths are his exceptional ability to generate speed and — perhaps even more impressively — his capacity to repeat his swing with an extraordinarily high level of accuracy and consistency. In all honesty, that’s a club fitter’s dream: You know precisely what you’re working with. His strengths in finding speed and repeatability allowed me to understand impact and club geometry so thoroughly that we could essentially eliminate his weaknesses before the fitting even began.

TOUR PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES
New and improved cut-through Speed Pocket™ protects ball speed and reduces spin on low-face strikes.
Advanced CAD modeling creates a design with a clean and powerful sound, a foundation of TaylorMade driver performance.
Multi-Material Construction allows engineers to strategically place mass in areas of the head where it maximizes performance, speed, and stability.
To be honest, the fitting went better than I expected. Johnny is already a strong player using top-tier equipment, and he’s had plenty of high-level fittings in the past. The competitive side of me went in believing I could uncover some marginal gains, but I knew it would depend on identifying what truly mattered to him and steering those improvements in the right direction.
What exceeded my expectations was that every parameter in which I hoped to find even small edges ended up delivering exponential improvements. I could read it in his body language and see it in the ball flight early on. We achieved such strong results so quickly that I actually had extra time to further refine things and explore multiple viable options. That’s a fantastic feeling as a fitter: You have a fixed window, and normally you’re racing to maximize it just to reach the best possible outcome. In this case, I could use the full time not only to optimize but also to give Johnny genuine choices — building his ownership and confidence when he steps onto the course.
A few key achievements stand out. First, we completely eliminated his one-directional miss. From a scientific perspective, that effectively widens the fairway and creates a much larger margin for error. That reduction in directional variability builds confidence, which in turn unlocks more speed and overall performance.
Rietveld and Wunder go in deep on the new Qi4D driver.
Fully Equipped
Second, we didn’t reinvent the wheel. Johnny was already comfortable with certain club parameters — like grip, length and swing weight — so I kept those familiar elements intact and focused on subtler adjustments he wouldn’t necessarily notice visually, such as lie angle, face angle and center-of-gravity location. These tweaks delivered big results without disrupting his feel.
Third — and this had perhaps the most impact — I leveraged the technology in the TaylorMade Qi4D driver (often referred to in fittings as a standout in its class). The driver delivers exceptional spin-rate consistency across the entire face. This allowed me to confidently put more loft in his hands without the penalty of excessive spin.
Johnny historically has played extremely low-loft drivers because he’s spent years trying to manage and suppress spin. For the first time, spin deviation is no longer a concern — he can rely on the head’s performance to keep things tight and predictable. That product characteristic was a huge asset in this fitting; it gave me freedom to optimize so many other variables without fear, making the entire process exceptionally rewarding. In my view, this spin consistency is likely the primary reason Johnny will choose this driver over anything else he’s tested. The speed was an added bonus.

What did you expect Trae Young’s first recorded statistic to be as a member of the Washington Wizards? Probably a point, right? Maybe an assist since he was brought in to help set up his younger teammates. If you were going with a sleeper, you’d probably pick a stray rebound or steal. Alas, it was none of the above. Before his first point, assist or even game as a member of the Wizards, Trae Young has picked up his first ejection in the nation’s capital.
The unusual sequence of events came in the third quarter of Washington’s home loss to Houston on Monday. Rockets forward Tari Eason, walking up the court, shoved Wizards guard Jamir Watkins to the ground, but no foul was called. A foul eventually came when the action shifted to the other side of the court, and the two teams needed to be separated. Technical fouls were called on four players: Eason, Watkins, Sharife Cooper … and Young.
So, how did Young manage to get ejected from a game he wasn’t even playing? He walked onto the floor during the altercation to argue with an official. NBA rules are very clear about players coming off of the bench during scuffles. It is not allowed, and we have multiple controversial playoff suspensions over the years to show how seriously the NBA takes it when a player does so.
Young seemed to take the ejection in stride, sharing a laugh about what happened on Twitter while assuring Wizards fans not to expect many more of them in his future.
Despite the rarity of this sort of ejection, it still isn’t the most notable tossing of Young’s career. Last season, he picked up a technical foul in the Play-In Tournament for throwing the ball at an official, and then quickly got a second for kicking the ball and was ejected late in the fourth quarter of a decided loss to the Orlando Magic. After that game, referee James Williams explained that Young was ejected for making “a mockery of the game.”
If nothing else, this ejection was a whole lot more defensible than that one was. Young didn’t get tossed for losing his temper on the court, but for defending his teammate from off of it. With his Wizards debut coming on Thursday, he probably earned some valuable credit in Washington’s locker room for getting a kicked out of a game he wasn’t even playing in.
Entries from Jimmysstar and Giga Kick for the upcoming Newmarket Handicap on Saturday have heightened the probability of Tentyris participating, yet the news isn’t universally welcomed.
The trainer of My Gladiola, John McArdle, would gladly sidestep another confrontation with the elite colt who twice forced the skilled filly into the runner-up position in the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Black Caviar Lightning.
Mornington’s McArdle will evaluate the weights and assess his stable ace’s form in Tuesday’s main gallop before committing to the Group 1 1200-metre feature at Flemington.
“We’ll see what he (Tentyris) does and if she doesn’t go to the Newmarket then she’d go to Sydney and trial up there and go to The Galaxy,” McArdle said.
“I’m 90 percent sure she will run, but there are always factors to consider. We’ll see how she gallops in the morning and see what the field comes up like.”
Craig Williams is secured aboard My Gladiola, who was handed 50.5kg in the Newmarket Handicap weights unveiled late Monday.
Tentyris drew 57kg, marginally above predictions due to Jimmysstar’s 60kg – 1kg past the nomination topweight threshold.
High in the weights are Giga Kick at 59kg, set for the Challenge Stakes in Sydney, Baraqiel on 57.5kg, and Joliestar with War Machine both at 57kg.
Good tidings for Team My Gladiola as the I Am Invincible filly concedes 4.5kg less to Tentyris than in her 2-1/4-length Coolmore Stud Stakes beating, and 5kg less than the three-quarters-of-a-length Lightning margin.
“We obviously had the two kilos in the Coolmore and then a kilo-and-a-half in the Lightning because Jamie (Mott) rode her a half over,” McArdle said.
“But it’ll be more like five or six kilos in the Newmarket, so that is a factor, but he is a very, very good horse.”
