Angel Reese enjoyed another great outing on Monday as the Atlanta Dream hosted the Las Vegas Aces during “Barbie Night” at the State Farm Arena. Although her efforts weren’t enough to lead the Dream to victory, fans celebrated the star forward after she recorded her 20th double-double of the season.

Women’s Hoop Network shared a clip of Reese’s performance on X (formerly Twitter), while captioning it with her box score from the night.

“Angel Reese tonight 🔥 • 23 points • 16 REBOUNDS • 2 assists • 10/19 FG • 27 minutes played,” Women’s Hoop Network wrote.

The clip featured Reese’s best plays from the night as she recorded back-to-back 20-point games. The performance also came during the Dream’s “Barbie Night,” a themed event celebrating the three-time WNBA All-Star, who certainly lived up to expectations.

Reese recorded 23 points and 16 rebounds during the matchup, leaving fans pumped with her performance.

“Angel Reese continues to make her case for All-WNBA btw. TRY HER IF YOU WANT TO,” a fan wrote.

While her performance wowed fans, it wasn’t enough to secure the victory on “Barbie Night,” as the Aces ran riot with a 109-87 win.

Jackie Young led Las Vegas from the front, recording a triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. A’ja Wilson, meanwhile, chipped in with 23 points, handing the Aces an easy victory.

However, Reese will feel let down by her teammates as Atlanta struggled to find secondary scoring. Rhyne Howard was the only other Dream player to score in double figures, while the remaining starters finished with seven points apiece.

Angel Reese identifies defense as a key issue behind Dream’s loss to Las Vegas Aces

The Atlanta Dream’s blowout loss to the Las Vegas Aces was their first in five games, despite another double-double from Angel Reese. Known for their defensive strength, the Dream struggled to contain the Aces, conceding their highest point total of the season.

During the post-game interview, Reese reflected on this issue and highlighted how they could improve.

“Honestly, I think for us it’s about consistency. Trying to be consistent every single game,” Reese said. “Obviously, I don’t think this was our best game defensively. We usually get a lot more steals.

“I feel like we didn’t get a lot of hands on the ball tonight. So it’s really about trying to stay consistent defensively as we go through this stretch of tough games.”

The Dream welcome another Western Conference opponent, the Phoenix Mercury, in their next game and will be eager to bounce back after the loss.
