Say what you will about Michael Bay, but even his critics will admit that he understands his audience better than most. Bay’s aesthetic is synonymous with action movies of the 1990s, but he kept reinventing himself as his career progressed. His adventurous spirit can also be felt in his latest narrative feature,Ambulance, which features some of the most dynamic drone footage ever projected on a big screen. For a decade spanning the 2000s and the 2010s, however, Bay remained occupied with one film franchise: Transformers. It didn’t end well, with his fifth installment — Transformers: The Last Knight — underperforming at the box office and being universally panned. But things weren’t always so dire; the franchise got off to a strong start with a movie that encapsulated everything that Bay’s movies stand for.
The movie in question is currently streaming on Peacock, but not for too long. It was released in 2007, and it remains the top-rated installment of the series according to Rotten Tomatoes, with a 57% score. We’re talking, of course, about Transformers. The movie was based on the Hasbro property of the same name, and while cynics would argue that it existed only to sell toys, Transformers also captured the imagination of millennials who grew up with it. It was headlined by Shia LaBeouf, who’d been handpicked by executive producer Steven Spielberg as Hollywood’s next big thing. Bay rounded out the cast with newcomer Megan Fox, veterans such as John Turturro and Jon Voight, along with Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson.

02
In a world of scarcity, what resource do you guard most fiercely? What we protect reveals what we believe survival actually requires.

03
What kind of threat keeps you up at night? Fear is useful data — if you’re honest about what you’re actually afraid of.

04
How do you deal with authority you don’t trust? Every dystopia has a power structure. Your approach to it determines everything.

05
Which environment could you actually endure long-term? Survival isn’t just tactical — it’s physical, psychological, and very much about where you are.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated You’d Survive In…
Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion
The Matrix
You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.
You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.
The Wasteland
Mad Max
The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.
You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.
Los Angeles, 2049
Blade Runner
You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.
You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.
Arrakis
Dune
Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.
Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.
A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Star Wars
The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

Here’s How Long You Have Left To Watch ‘Transformers’ on Peacock
Transformersgrossed more than $700 million worldwide against a reported budget of around $200 million. Bay returned to direct Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Transformers: The Last Knight. Aside from the final film, all previous installments were massive hits, with the third and fourth movies each grossing more than $1 billion worldwide. However, none of them received positive reviews. The franchise was rebooted twice, with Travis Knight‘s Bumblebee prequel and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, directed by Steven Caple Jr. The original Transformers movie is streaming on Peacock, but it’ll be removed from the platform along with every other installment on May 1. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
HBO was born out of the need for an alternative to traditional cable programming. It revolutionized the way we watch television by creating a subscription-based service outside the conventional channels. As a result, shows could challenge censorship required by FCC laws and cater to audiences in need of inventive content. They explored otherwise taboo subjects like sex, drug use, and violence in a more graphic manner. These led to fresh premises in early shows like Oz, Sex and the City, and beyond.
While the service has reinvented itself (many times over) in recent years, the mission remains the same: to allow users to indulge in a “Home Box Office” experience tailored to their preferences. It offers a wide range of shows across genres and topics. Regardless of its name, the very first subscription-based platform set a precedent for modern streaming services and greater freedom for content creation. From Veep to The Sopranos, these shows are mandatory viewing from HBO’s vast catalog.

‘Sex and the City’ (1998–2004)
Charlotte, Carrie, Miranda, and Samantha looking out the window in ‘Sex and the City’Image via HBO
Sex was not often talked about – or depicted – on mainstream cable television. But Sex and the City changed that. The HBO series followed four women: Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). Each character represented a realistic portrayal of women in their 30s and 40s navigating life, love, and their careers in New York City.
Yes, some plots may not be true to reality (like how Carrie could afford her lifestyle on a weekly columnist’s salary). But it’s still easy to resonate with and fantasize about the scenarios they get themselves into. Sex and the City had a lasting effect on culture in the 1990s and 2000s, from magazine articles asking readers “which character are you?” to the invention of the popular Cosmopolitan cocktail. The series spawned two movies and a spin-off series, And Just Like That…, but these can never compare to its originator.

‘Veep’ (2012–2019)
Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) celebrating on a podium in ‘Veep’.Image via HBO
When does satire seep into reality? This is all too true of HBO’s Veep. Vice President Selina Myers (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) intends to take the presidency in this 2012 political comedy shedding humorous light on the inner workings of the U.S. government. While the stakes are high (war, scandal, etc.), Selina’s brash mouth and neurotic antics highlight how foolish the circumstances are. It’s a workplace comedy similar to The Office infused with high-stakes political drama like Scandal. Somehow, the formula works.
Veep was based on its British counterpart, The Thick of It, and quickly outshined its predecessors from over the pond. Veep is one of many political TV shows that aired in the 2010s but tackled the subject in a unique tone. This is greatly thanks to Drefyus’ incredible comedic prowess stemming from her background in Saturday Night Liveand Seinfeld. Viewership soared during the 2020 election cycle for obvious reasons as fans coped with the political environment. Veep didn’t mean to be a documentary – it just happened to air (preemptively) at the right time.

‘Succession’ (2018–2023)

Succession is one of many HBO shows that captured fans’ attention week after week and fostered engaging online discourse fueled by rhetoric, theories, and debate. It’s a show about family, wealth, and power. Who will take over Waystar Royco when its figurehead eventually leaves the company? It’s not that simple and nearly tore an already fractured family apart.
But this is a plot with a deadline – someone must inevitably take control of the Waystar Royco before it crumbles. One of the show’s greatest feats is that creator Jesse Armstrong knew when to end. Many series often fall into this trap as they try to continue a show for as many seasons as they can. The HBO show was purportedly inspired by the real-life Murdoch family and their scandalous affairs in deciding who would take over their legacy media conglomerate.

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ (2000–2024)
Larry David talking with his hands up in Curb Your Enthusiasm.Image via HBO
Curb Your Enthusiasm is Larry David being Larry David for 12 seasons. It relied on improvisation without a steady plotline as the episodes often veer towards absurd scenarios that only Larry David could find himself in. The show was known for employing David’s wide network of Hollywood actors, writers, and directors in cameos and guest roles in a way that audiences had never experienced before.
The HBO original premiered in 2000, just two years after completing his tenure as a writer for Seinfeld. In many ways, Curb Your Enthusiasm can be considered a spin-off of the fictional/real-life David as he plays a semi-retired writer on the show. The Emmy Award-winning series concluded in 2024 after a long hiatus, giving fans a chance to say goodbye to their favorite grumpy man. It’s for these reasons (among others) that Curb Your Enthusiasm has remained such a mainstay on television throughout the decades.

👑 Tulsa King
⚖️ Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.
You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.
You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.
You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.

‘Six Feet Under’ (2001–2005)
David Fisher sitting and looking up at someone in Six Feet Under.Image via HBO
Set in early 2000s Los Angeles, Six Feet Underfollows the Fisher family navigating life (and death) as they run their family business: a funeral home. Each episode centers around death and subsequent contemplation, which guides the events of each character. It’s a profound series that often plays out like a soap opera whereby each person must face a conflict within themselves and between interconnected characters.
Despite a dismal title and dark undertones, Six Feet Under somehow managed to engage audiences through its character-forward narratives. It was easy to resonate with Nate’s (Peter Krause) battle with responsibility, David’s (Michael C. Hall) exploration of sexuality, or Claire’s (Lauren Ambrose) coming of age in a tumultuous household. But it’s the investment that’s worth it. Without spoilers, Six Feet Under concludes with one of the best TV series finales of all time. It’s worth sitting through five seasons of this powerful show just to experience those final 10 minutes. You know it’s good when even George R. R. Martin says, “I cannot imagine how anyone could do better.”

‘Game of Thrones’ (2011–2019)
Game of Thrones dominated 2010s pop culture as a revolutionary fantasy series rich with themes of power, family, and morality. It included political undertones as households battled one another for their right to the Iron Throne. The series was not afraid to kill off major characters as fans quickly learned not to get too attached. Game of Thrones depicted brutal deaths; a careful balance of satisfying and devastating.
Although the series was based on George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novels of the same name, it eventually surpassed the source material and made it its own. It’s debatable whether that was the right choice given the controversial final season that still receives criticism even today. There are no words that can be used to explain the sentiments of seeing those dragons for the first time or the world of Westeros itself come to life. Once you’re done with Game of Thrones, you might as well watch the other spin-offs, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

‘The Wire’ (2002–2008)

The Wire is an early crime-drama show, airing from 2002 to 2008. It follows a police unit as they investigate crimes across the city of Baltimore, Maryland, and their effects on residents in multiple capacities. The show is not afraid to depict darker themes and focuses primarily on the relevant war on drugs told through the lens of both the law and the perpetrators.
HBO loves a good crime show. But The Wire is different in that it offers greater contemplation regarding the ethics of crime as it has evolved over the seasons. The show’s strongest point is its world building: Baltimore itself becomes a character as investigations incorporate everyday citizens affected by – everyone from drug deals to journalists and even children affected by situations.

‘The Leftovers’ (2014–2017)
Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon in The Leftovers (2014)Image via HBO
Advertisement
An inventive premise based on Tom Perrotta‘snovel of the same name, The Leftovers begins in the sleepy suburban town of Mapleton, New York. It’s a show about existentialism as characters cope with the disappearance of 2% of the world’s population in an event deemed “The Departure.”The Leftovers‘ intrigue lies in ambiguity which viewers might find engaging or frustrating – but that’s the intention! There are religious, philosophical, and scientific themes throughout.
The Leftovers gained popularity during the COVID pandemic due to themes of grief and how to move forward. As Perrotta told The New York Times, “I think there’s something about the scale of The Leftovers that’s truer to the cataclysms that we have lived through.” That’s what makes it so captivating. This is executed flawlessly by a strong cast that includes Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, and Margaret Qualley.

‘The Sopranos’ (1999–2007)
Edie Falco and James Gandolfini in The SopranosImage via HBO
Advertisement
The Sopranos is often considered one of the best TV shows of all time. Why is that? This early HBO series followed the complex life of Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and his family residing in northern New Jersey. It infused humor into an otherwise normal storyline. The Sopranos was also unique in that it wasn’t afraid to portray a man as both strong and weak when he attended therapy, in contrast with his masculine persona. Additionally, it’s hard to listen to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” without thinking about that final controversial scene.
There are many instances of movies inspiring spin-off television series or vice versa, and The Sopranos was a leader in this concept. It connects an otherwise insignificant man and his family existing in an insignificant New Jersey town to The Godfather four decades later. Actors and characters from the original even appear in main roles or in cameos, furthering this continuity. It’s recommended to watch the movie franchise before starting the HBO drama to fully appreciate the Easter eggs and references to the former make for a more enriching experience.

‘Oz’ (1997–2003)

The Sopranos is indeed one of HBO’s best original series, and possibly one of the best of all time. But before that is the oft-forgotten prison drama,Oz. Protagonist and inmate Augustus Hill (Harold Perrineau) provided narration for each episode reminiscent of a Greek chorus. It was a poignant reminder of the complexities each character possesses, as if they were a tragedy straight from a Shakespearean play. The name alone provided an overview of what the series would become in this satirical take on The Wizard of Oz. Only in this case does it refer to the show’s setting of Oswald State Correctional Facility; as a promotional poster for the show reads, “This is no place like home.”
Yet, the inmates make “Em City” their home nonetheless, as they are divided into factions and foster connections to make their time in prison easier. Oz is at its best when these groups – usually separated by race or religion – interact with one another, furthering the cell block’s experimental concept. And in many ways, it works. Oz made television history in 1997 when it became the first hour-long drama series on HBO. It dealt with heavy topics surrounding the American prison system and, in many ways, challenged stigmas in the process.
“When you look at our great presidents, [this] doesn’t happen to people who don’t do anything,” Trump, 79, told reporters at the White House on Saturday, April 25.
Multiple media outlets reported that a 30-year-old man from California was “apprehended” during the shooting. The Secret Service told the media that the suspect’s condition is “unknown,” as are his motives. (He has been charged with two counts of using a firearm and one count of assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.)
“The man has been captured and they’re going to his apartment. I guess he lives in California and he’s a very sick person, a very sick person,” Trump said during his news conference.

Trump also addressed the moment-by-moment process of being rushed from the ballroom to a secure location at the Washington Hilton once shots were fired.

“I was totally shocked when something like this happens,” he said. “It happened to me a little bit, and that never changes. The fact, we were sitting right next to each other, first lady [Melania Trump] on my right, and I heard a noise … I thought it was a tray going down and it was a pretty loud noise and it was from quite far away. [The suspect] hadn’t reached the area at all. He really got him … but it was a gun.”
The president went on, “Some people really understood that very quickly, other people didn’t … I was watching what happened. Melania was very cognizant of what happened, I think she knew immediately what happened. She was saying, ‘That’s a bad noise.’ And we were whisked away. It was very quick .. it was a matter of seconds that we were out the door.”
Donald, first lady Melania and various members of the cabinet were evacuated from the Washington Hilton hotel on Saturday amid the emergency. A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed that the incident occurred at the “main magnetometer” at the Washington Hilton. No one in the Trump administration or among the press assembled was harmed during the incident.
A Secret Service agent was shot but Trump said he’d been “saved” due to his protective gear. The agent was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“The vest did its job. I just spoke to the officer and he’s doing great,” Trump announced at Saturday’s press conference.
Earlier in the evening, Donald confirmed via Truth Social that he, Melania and other cabinet members — including pregnant White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt— were all safe after being evacuated. The president suggested initially that he wanted the evening to continue.
“Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely,” he wrote. “The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we ‘LET THE SHOW GO ON’ but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement. They will make a decision shortly. Regardless of that decision, the evening will be much different than planned, and we’ll just, plain, have to do it again.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is building her family while growing her political career. On December 26, 2025, Leavitt announced she and her husband Nicholas Riccio, who is 32 years her senior, are expecting their second baby together. The pair are also mom and dad to Nicholas Robert “Niko” Riccio. “The greatest Christmas gift […]

The Mormon Wives original cast member, 26, shared a video of herself with the rest of the spinoff cast via Instagram on Saturday, April 25. The clip is set to the Full House theme, with Jen adding in the caption, “Coming to @hulu 2026!!”
Us Weekly has reached out to Hulu for comment.
Fans were puzzled over Jen’s absence when the rest of the cast for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County was unveiled by Hulu on Thursday, 23. The reality show features Mormon Wives OG Mayci Neeley’s sister McCall Dapron, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods,Bobbi Althoff, Salomé Andrea, Ashleigh Pease, Madison Bontempo and Chandler Higginson.
“I guess I’m curious as well,” McCall said. “I was surprised when we went to glam before this that she wasn’t with us. I heard she was sick, but I have no clue.”
Aspyn, 30, hinted that there may be an announcement forthcoming about Jen’s official involvement with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.

“I haven’t seen [Jen] yet,” Aspyn hinted. “I think I will see her soon.”
There have been theories that Jen was set to anchor the Orange County show since she recently moved to Southern California with her husband, Zac Affleck. (The Afflecks share three children: daughters Nora and Penelope, 4 and 9 months, and son Luca, 2.)
In a tearful TikTok video, Jen told her followers earlier this month that she was ready for a new chapter after moving for “the fifth time in a year.”

“In the last two to three years, so much has happened,” Jen shared on April 6. “Between two babies, reality TV show, Dancing With the Stars, moving, identity, faith, life crisis, I’m very hopeful for this next chapter of my life.”
She went on, “I really haven’t had time to figure out who Jen is. I’m still trying to figure that out. I just desperately want to be able to show up for my kids and show up as the best version of myself.”

The original Mormon Wives show recently resumed filming after a lengthy pause due to cast member Taylor Frankie Paul’s domestic violence investigation. Taylor, 31, denied the accusations and police ultimately declined to press charges earlier in April.

If you’ve ever wanted to join a cult without actually joining a cult, then the sci-fi thriller Sound of My Voice is the perfect choice. Directed by Zal Batmanglijand co-written by Brit Marling, who were the co-creators of The OA, this movie has the same mind-bending atmosphere, where you question absolutely everything. It has a pretty standard setup of two aspiring filmmakers trying to make a documentary on an influential cult based on a woman who supposedly comes from the future, something you and the characters can easily brush off as far-fetched and deceptive. But as the film progresses, viewers are coaxed into the cult’s warm embrace just as the characters are, not necessarily because we believe them, but because we believe in them. The film is manipulation at its finest, and a must-watch because of it.
Brit Marling Is a Magnetic Cult Leader in ‘Sound of My Voice’
Although Sound of My Voice is categorized as sci-fi, it plays out more like a psychological thriller. The only actual sci-fi element in the film is the concept of time-traveling, something that is never really proved, just spoken about, as the cult leader Maggie (Marling) makes outlandish claims of a future where food is scarce, tragedies ensue, and “Dreams” by The Cranberries is made popular again. Speaking of which, try getting that song out of your head after Marling sings a haunting, cultish rendition of it. Just like her vocals, her presence lingers in every white hallway and creeps into our minds, finding a corner to settle into as it corrodes our beliefs. Marling is as magnetic as every cult leader should be, and as the title suggests, it is the lilting, soft, but reverberating sound of her voice that hypnotizes us just as effectively as it does the cult members.

Collider Exclusive · Sci-Fi Survival Quiz Which Sci-Fi World Would You Survive? The Matrix · Mad Max · Blade Runner · Dune · Star Wars
Five universes. Five completely different ways the future went wrong — or sideways, or up in flames. Only one of them is the world your instincts were built for. Eight questions will figure out which dystopia, galaxy, or desert wasteland you’d actually make it out of alive.

01
You sense something is deeply wrong with the world around you. What do you do? The first instinct is often the truest one.

06
Who do you want in your corner when things fall apart? The company you keep is the clearest signal of who you actually are.

07
Where do you draw the line — if you draw one at all? Every survivor eventually faces a moment that tests what they’re actually made of.

What would actually make survival worth it? Staying alive is one thing. Having a reason to is another.

Sharing the screen with Marling are Christopher Denham as Peter and Nicole Vicius as Lorna, two filmmakers determined to escape their mundane jobs by filming an exposé on this time-traveling farce. To do so, they must win the trust of the cult and ingratiate themselves. They are the perfect stand-ins for the audience, approaching the bizarre situation with a healthy amount of skepticism and curiosity, even as their attempts at secretly filming the meetings are thwarted by the technological limitations of the 2010s. As the film progresses, their beliefs are constantly challenged by scenes that oscillate between disquieting and devastating, forcing us on our toes.
If you must only watch one scene of this film to convince yourself to indulge in the rest, then let it be the one around the 25-minute mark. Marling and Denham share the screen in a berserk and powerful sequence, where Marling’s warm and hypnotic performance switches into something more cruel and malignant. Peter’s skepticism almost shatters in front of our very eyes, as Maggie brutally questions his past, mercilessly tugging on threads the average person wouldn’t dare to. Mix in some emetophobia, and it’s a scene that should be in a horror film. But the power of the scene is that Maggie’s evil, out-of-character moment is just as enchanting as her softer persona.
‘Sound of My Voice’ Represents Cults Like Never Before
Marling may be the haunting center of Sound of My Voice, but its real power stems from its ability to make the viewer feel like they are losing their minds. There are plenty of twists and turns that render the plot a thriller, but the storytelling remains cerebral, where the stakes are in our ability to hold onto reality, and the climax is another shattering shift in our belief system. Its approach to investigating cults isn’t drenched in pessimism or otherworldiness, but a naturalistic simplicity and faith that is tempting. Even as the film treads into stranger territory, it is grounded by ideals like letting fear go and self-sufficiency that are difficult to condemn. We know it’s a cult and that they are generally predatory, but the insidious thought of “maybe this one isn’t so bad” lurks in the corners of your mind. It’s thought-provoking to experience, and addictive to watch.
These movies said, “No time to waste, let me scare you immediately.”
People are often curious about how someone can succumb to the seemingly outrageous beliefs of a cult, and this film will demonstrate exactly how. Turns out, skepticism is simply the first step to indoctrination, as Sound of My Voice lulls us deeper into its heady embrace. With Marling at the helm, it is impossible not to surrender to this film and let her voice soothe you into a trance.
Prince Harry has made his position as a member of the Royal Family clear. During a new interview, the 41-year-old spoke about his role as a Royal, acknowledging that he’d always have duties as a public figure due to the family he was born into. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been in the headlines for years. In 2020, the pair announced they were stepping back from their full-time roles as Royal members, sparking much discussion about the dynamics of the monarchy.
MEGA
While speaking with ITV on Friday, April 24, Prince Harry said he’d “always be part of the royal family” despite the challenges they’ve faced over the last several years. His statement came after a reporter asked the public figure whether he agreed with being referred to as “not a working royal.”
“No. I will always be part of the royal family,” the “Spare” author replied. “I am here working doing the things that I was born to do.”
Prince Harry went on to say that he values the service he can provide to others in his role. “I enjoy coming to do these trips and supporting that I’ve ever before, the friends that I’ve made, and hopefully, bringing attention to issues that, for one reason or another, drop out of the news because something else has popped up,” he said.

Prince Harry And His Wife, Meghan Markle, Stepped Down From Royal Duties In 2020

According to a report from PEOPLE, Prince Harry and his wife, actress-turned-Royal Markle, stepped down from their official duties in January 2020, announcing their plans to split time between the United States and the U.K.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” their statement read. “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
Days later, Queen Elizabeth issued an unusual statement, revealing that the married couple would be placed on a one-year probationary period while the monarchy fully defines their roles.
“My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” the statement read. “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”
Source Says The Duke Of Sussex Could Return To Royal Life If He Does A Few Things
MEGA
The Blast reported that Prince Harry could return to life as a full-time royal over the next few years; however, he’d be required to completely forego the life he’s built for himself and his wife.
A source shared that the most practical way back into the fold would require the public figure to not only walk back certain claims, but also apologize to King Charles and his brother, Prince William. The insider further claimed that divorcing Markle could be what the monarchy sees as the “traditional Windsor error-correction route.”

It’s unclear whether Prince Harry will actually follow through, given that the philanthropist previously said he hoped to avoid life in the public eye after the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, in August 1997.
“Loss is disorienting at any age,” he said. “Grief does not disappear because we ignore it… And without purpose, it can break you.”
Harry Reportedly Met With ‘Wall Of Silence’ By Brother William

As Prince Harry and Markle continue building their future, another report from The Blast suggests Prince William won’t be involved.
Royal commentators shared that Harry has tried his hardest to connect with his brother; however, the former has been met with a “wall of silence.”
While the sources didn’t share the exact reason for William’s alleged behavior, they said William’s stance could be influenced by Harry’s public comments about their family over the years.

Another royal specialist, Richard Fitzwilliams, shared a similar view, stating that William sees his brother as “totally untrustworthy.”
Harry Is Forming A Bond With This Grammy-Winning Musician

Despite the beef with his bloodline, Prince Harry is reportedly getting close to some of Hollywood’s elite, according to The Blast.
An insider shared that Harry has formed a surprisingly close bond with David Foster, whom he reportedly sees as a “father figure.”
Foster’s wife, Katharine McPhee, called their relationship “beautiful” and “so cute.”
Years ago, Foster revealed he had helped Harry and Markle settle into their new home in Canada.

“I was just happy through my friend to facilitate what I could for them, and it looked like they had a great rest,” Foster said in 2020. “They are a young modern family. I’m sure they want to balance their commitment to the crown and be a 2020 family.”
Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton are reportedly looking to buy a house as things seem to be intensifying between them.
Reports claim the pair are looking for a private space where they can build a “love nest” without the fear of being walked into or being disturbed by her kids.
Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton appear to have been nesting together in recent times and were seen packing on the PDA during a surf date in Malibu earlier this week.

Kardashian and Hamilton’s romance seems to be getting more serious as sources say the pair have begun house hunting for a private “love nest” in exclusive areas in California.
Both stars sparked romance rumors earlier this year after they privately met at a luxury hotel in Oxfordshire, England, followed by a trip to Paris.
They subsequently made other appearances, including the Super Bowl in February, after which the Formula 1 star seemingly went Instagram official as he posted a video of them in a car in Tokyo.
While the famous reality star already boasts an impressive real estate portfolio, sources say their search for a new home is more about solitude, especially because hotels won’t cut it due to their fame.
“They want a place that’s just for them,” a source told a news outlet. “Somewhere they can go where they don’t risk having her kids walking in on them.”

Addressing the issue about why they’re not going for hotels, the insider said that “with their level of fame, every time they go to a hotel, it takes a full-scale security sweep equivalent to a presidential visit.”
The Reality TV Star Doesn’t Want To Come On Too Strong With Lewis Hamilton
MEGA
Adding to the fact that it’s easier to get somewhere private and secure waiting for them, the insider told the news outlet that Kardashian and Hamilton have been considering properties around Malibu, Beverly Hills, and Santa Barbara.
The SKIMS founder seems to have also fallen deeply in love but is reportedly trying to relax more and not force things, as the source said she has been “making a big effort not to come on too strong.”
“She’s letting Lewis make all the moves and pursue her,” the insider said, per the National Enquirer. “She knows he’s competitive and loves the chase. And it’s working like a charm.”
Kardashian is also understood to be “very excited” about the whole relationship, but would rather keep her cards close to her chest.

The couple continues to set tongues wagging and has seemingly been flaunting their relationship over the past couple of months.
They’ve been spotted out and about in recent times, often holding on tight to each other.
On Monday, they took a dip in the waters of Malibu and got fully engrossed in themselves while they kissed on.
They also made an appearance together at Coachella after going to the Super Bowl game in February to see the Seahawks beat the Patriots 29-13.
Lewis Hamilton ‘Is Crazy About’ The SKIMS Founder

An insider previously told Us Weekly that Hamilton “has waited over a decade for his dream girl and is crazy about” Kardashian.
Sources close to the FI star also added that he “believes he has finally met his match” with the reality TV star.

Even when they’re not together due to his commitment to Formula 1, Hamilton was understood to be facetiming her “regularly from the paddock.”
Kardashian, for her part, is said to be “incredibly supportive” of his career and understands his “demanding F1 schedule.”
The F1 Legend Doesn’t Want To Feature On Kim Kardashian’s Family’s Reality TV Show
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA
Meanwhile, Kardashian may struggle to make Hamilton a full part of her life, especially as it relates to his relationship with the cameras.
Reports claim the sports star doesn’t have plans to feature on her and her family’s hit reality TV show, although she’ll most likely discuss it.
“Lewis prefers to keep their relationship low-key — much like Kylie’s boyfriend Timothee Chalamet, who has no interest in having a starring role,” a source claimed per a report.
“Kim and Lewis dated for a couple of months before their relationship came to light, and although they are being more public now, Lewis doesn’t want to become a breakout star of that show,” the source said. “Naturally, Kim will have to allude to their relationship.”
“There’s a comfort level there, because they’ve known each other for years,” they add. “Kim’s gone on dates and met people over the years, but Lewis is the first guy she’s really into in a long time. She always liked him. She’s excited about their romantic connection.”
DC has dropped a small but pretty charming surprise for fans. Krypto Saves the Day: Coastal Catastrophe, the fourth and final installment in the animated short series built around Superman’s chaos-goblin dog, officially hit HBO Max on April 18. That makes the full four-part run available, and it gives the DC brand another quick streaming beat ahead of Supergirl’s arrival this summer.
Coastal Catastrophe premiered on HBO Max on April 18, and it closes out the four-part Krypto Saves the Day series, which began in 2025. And in great news, the short was launching as production on Season 2 gets underway, with a cameo from Supergirl folded into the beach-set episode.
These shorts are quick, chaotic, and clearly designed to keep DC’s new universe feeling alive between bigger projects. Krypto has already become one of the studio’s easiest crowd-pleasers, so giving him a fresh mini-adventure on streaming was always going to get attention. Even if it’s small-scale, it’s the exact kind of drop that gets fans clicking out of pure curiosity.

What Other DC Projects Are Coming Up?
The timing of Krypto’s return also works nicely as a lead-in to Supergirl, which lands in theaters and IMAX on June 26. DC is already positioning that movie as the next major stop in the new universe with Alcock leading the film as Kara Zor-El alongside Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
After that, DC has more on deck in 2026, including the HBO and HBO Max series Lanterns and the theatrical horror-leaning Clayface, which is expected to open on September 11, 2026. Lanterns stars Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Kyle Chandleras Hal Jordan, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, and Nathan Fillion returning as Guy Gardner, while Clayface currently has Tom Rhys Harries attached in the title role.
CNN reported that Kirk, 37, was seen crying as the chaos unfolded at the Washington Hilton in Washington D.C. on Saturday, April 25. CNN’s Sara Sidner said on air that she personally witnessed Kirk leaving the main ballroom, telling aides, “I just want to leave.”
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for Kirk for comment.
Erika’s husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10, 2025. He was 31 years old. (It is unclear what the alleged shooter’s motive was on Saturday. According to CNN, a 30-year-old man from California was “apprehended” during the shooting.)

Charlie’s suspected shooter, 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson, was apprehended on September 11, 2025, and charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. He has yet to enter a plea.
“There is no linear blueprint for grief. One day you’re collapsed on the floor crying out the name Jesus in between labored breaths,” Erika wrote via Instagram at the time. “The next you’re playing with your children in the living rooms surrounded by family photos, and feeling a rush of something you can only attempt to define as divinely planted and bittersweet joy as a smile breaks through your face.”
She added, “They say time heals. But love doesn’t ask to be healed. Love asks to be remembered. It’s humbling to realize that this magnitude of suffering didn’t steal my love for my husband. It amplified it. It crystallized it.”

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump, first lady Melania Trump and pregnant White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt were all evacuated from the main ballroom at the Washington Hilton when shots were heard on Saturday night.
A Secret Service spokesperson clarified that the shooting took place near the “main magnetometer” at the Washington Hilton.
Reports suggest that a Secret Service agent was shot but the bullet struck his protective gear. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at the time of publication.

Director Zack Snyder has gone indie after spending his entire career working with major studios on some of their biggest tentpoles. Most recently, Snyder had a semi-successful run with Netflix, but it fizzled out as the streamer recalibrated its operations. Snyder had multiple potential franchises in the works at Netflix, but none of them really took off. Before that, Snyder had a long creative partnership with Warner Bros., where he directed some of the most striking big-budget movies of the 2000s. He was also responsible for creatively overseeing the controversial DC Extended Universe, which has since been rebooted by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Early in his career, following the release of three high-profile titles, Snyder made the surprising decision to pivot to a wholly unexpected project.
That movie is largely overlooked in conversations about Snyder’s career. It’s currently streaming on HBO Max, but not for much longer. The movie in question came after Snyder’s two comic book adaptations for WB — the swords-and-sandals epic 300 and the revisionist superhero movie Watchmen. For his hotly anticipated follow-up, Snyder chose to adapt a children’s novel. What’s more, he decided it should be done via the medium of animation, which he hadn’t experimented with before. The film remains one of only two WB titles that, according to former exec Greg Silverman, lost money for the studio. The other was Sucker Punch.

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.
You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.
Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.
You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

We’re talking, of course, about Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. The movie was released in 2010, just one year after Watchmen divided critics and underperformed at the box office. Legend of the Guardians tells an epic fantasy story reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings, but aimed at younger audiences. It received mixed reviews and is currently sitting at a 52% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. The website’s consensus reads, “Legend of the Guardians‘ dark tone and dazzling visuals are to be admired, even if they’re ultimately let down by a story that never lives up to its full potential.” Produced on a reported budget of $80 million, the film grossed $140 million worldwide. It featured a stacked voice cast including Helen Mirren, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, and others. You can watch the movie on HBO Max, but only until May 1. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
