7 Forgotten Psychological Thrillers That Are Perfect From Start to Finish

Published

on

Joan Crawford looking disturbed in Possessed

Few cinematic genres are as popular or versatile as the thriller. Covering everything from horror to comedy and action, the thriller is maliable and enduring, offering audiences stories of mystery and anxiety that will have them on the edge of their seats. However, if there’s one subgenre that stands out from the others, it has to be the psychological thriller.

These movies toy with the audience’s perception, focusing on suspenseful narratives that deal with themes of mental distress, anxiety, paranoia, and distorted realities. They toy with their characters as much as with their audience, resulting in some of the best and most riveting movies in cinema. Movies like Memento and Oldboy are among the best-known examples of the subgenre, but many other great psychological thrillers have gone unnoticed over the years, and this list is our way to do right by them. If you haven’t seen the movies on this list, then do yourself a favor and seek them out; you won’t regret it.

‘Possessed’ (1947)

Joan Crawford looking disturbed in Possessed Image via Warner Bros. Pictures

Joan Crawford received her second Oscar nomination for her work in Curtis Bernhardt‘s Possessed. The film sees Crawford as Louise, the nurse of wealthy Dean Graham (Raymond Massey) and his wife, who develops an unhealthy fixation with the neighbor, David (Van Heflin). When Dean’s wife dies, Louise becomes his new wife, but her enduring obsession with David will lead her down a path of violence.

Few classical actresses played women in various degrees of mental anguish as perfectly as Joan Crawford, and Possessed is one of her finest hours. Sure, the film is highly accentuated to the point of bordering on melodrama — it was made in 1947, after all. However, the film still offers a riveting story about the dangers of obsession and the past’s ability to ruin one’s future if one does not reconcile with it. Besides, Crawford’s work is reason enough to watch.

‘Manhunter’ (1986)

You may or may not know, but Anthony Hopkins wasn’t actually cinema’s first Hannibal Lecter. Five years earlier, Michael Mann adapted Thomas Harris‘ 1981 novel Red Dragon into Manhunter, with William Petersen as Will Graham and Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecktor. The film adapts the novel’s plot, which sees Graham coming out of retirement to catch a serial killer known as the Tooth Fairy. To do so, he must confront Lecktor, who tried to kill him years earlier.

Today, Manhunter has been all but eclipsed by the subsequent success of Jonathan Demme‘s The Silence of the Lambs, the superior adaptation of Harris’ novel. However, Manhunter is still quite a gripping thriller, with a radically different but no less compelling take on Hannibal Lecter. It might not reinvent the wheel or explore as many themes as Demme’s masterpiece, but Mann’s adaptation is as stylish as it is engrossing. The film’s approach to forensic science was also quite refreshing for the time, inspiring countless future thrillers.

‘Green Room’ (2015)

Jeremy Saulnier‘s claim to fame came in 2015 with the horror psychological thriller Green Room. The film focuses on a punk band playing at a remote club in the Pacific Northwest. Their night descends into chaos and horror when they unwittingly witness a murder, finding themselves the targets of Neo-Nazi skinheads. The late Anton Yelchin stars alongside Imogen Poots, Callum Turner, and Patrick Stewart.

A pretty perfect horror movie from A24, Green Room is as wild as its premise makes it sound. It is unapologetically gruesome, hyper-violent, and grimy, making the most of its limited setting and remarkable cast to deliver a story that might lack depth, but it more than makes up for it in sheer thrills. That said, Green Room does have interesting things to say about morality and how it ebbs and flows when one’s life is on the line. Those with weak stomachs are wise to stay away, but all those who love their movies with a hard edge will love this underrated gem from the 2010s.

‘Take Shelter’ (2011)

Oscar nominee Michael Shannon and Oscar winner Jessica Chastain star in Jeff Nichols‘ 2013 psychological disaster thriller Take Shelter. Shannon plays Curtis, a husband and father plagued with apocalyptic visions about a coming storm. As he begins building a shelter to protect his family from the doom, his unexplained and seemingly unreasonable actions begin to strain his relationship with his loving wife, Samantha (Chastain).

A low-key masterpiece of the thriller genre, Take Shelter is as thought-provoking as it is elusive. The film isn’t really concerned with whether Curtis’ visions are actually prophetic or not; instead, the focus is on the psyche and the importance of human connection. Take Shelter is haunting and uneasy, but Shannon’s humane performance and Nichols’ nuanced approach make it a deep examination of duty and paranoia that never sensationalizes Curtis’ struggle. The ambiguous ending might be the best-known part, but the entire movie is rich in food for thought.

‘Strange Darling’ (2024)

Strange Darling stars Willa Fitzgerald and certified scream king Kyle Gallner as a man and a woman who have a one-night stand that soon turns deadly. The plot follows a non-linear structure told across six chapters, each one a piece of a larger puzzle that only starts making sense about halfway through.

Subversive in the best possible way, Strange Darling makes the best out of its twisting narrative, largely thanks to a spectacular and frankly Oscar-worthy performance from Willa Fitzgerald. The film uses our preconceived notions of the psychological thriller to pull a trick on us, and the result is a refreshing game-changer that steps out of the genre’s boundaries. Released only two years ago, Strange Darling was severely underappreciated by both critics and audiences. Today, it continues to amass a small but loyal fanbase, but it still has a long way to go to secure cult classic status.

‘Don’t Look Now’ (1973)

Nicole Roeg‘s Don’t Look Now has become more popular in recent years; that is indeed true. However, it still lacks the recognition of other horrors of the ’70s. Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie star as a married couple recovering from the death of their daughter by traveling to Venice. However, the pair begins dealing with strange and potentially supernatural situations that will push their sanity to the breaking point.

Don’t Look Now is perhaps best known for its ending and the long-standing yet now-debunked rumor that Sutherland and Christie had unsimulated sex on camera during its most famous scene. However, the film is a poignant and genuinely chilling exploration of grief and the inability to move on. The occult themes further support the film’s thesis regarding the inevitability of tragedy, crafting a mood of lingering dread that refuses to let go. Sutherland is particularly affecting here, and his work during the final moments has cemented Don’t Look Now as a classic, albeit an unsung one.

‘Repulsion’ (1965)

When you think of Roman Polanski‘s psychological thrillers, chances are you think of Rosemary’s Baby. However, he actually directed another one three years earlier, Repulsion, which was also his English-language debut. Starring a career-best Catherine Deneuve, the film sees the legendary French actress playing Carol, a young woman with an acute fear of interacting with men. Left alone in her apartment, she begins to experience hallucinations as she descends into mental anguish.

Repulsion is one of the best thrillers of the ’60s, a ruthless and profoundly eerie exploration of sexual repression, identity, and isolation. The film successfully places us in a claustrophobic and slowly escalating situation, often putting us in Carol’s actual perspective to enhance immersion. In its way, Repulsion is a statement on femininity and non-conformity, with Carol choosing violence rather than subjugation and submission. Powered by Deneuve’s outstanding work, Repulsion is a powerful chamber piece that’s hard to shake off.

Taylor Swift is proving once again she knows how to leave a lasting impression, both on and off stage. The pop superstar enjoyed an intimate night out in New York City with fiancé Travis Kelce and friends at the exclusive members-only club Casa Cipriani, where she reportedly left a generous tip for the live band.

Jazz musician Richie Nuzz, also known as The Neo Crooner, recalled the moment Swift showed her appreciation at the end of the night. “At the end of the night, I saw her walking towards the stage, and then that’s when I realized, you know, she was giving us a tip,” he told Page Six.

“And then she kind of like, did this bow thing, like with her hands, like praise you kind of thing. And, like, blew me a kiss,” he added. “She was so sweet about it, and it made us feel really good.”

While Nuzz didn’t confirm the exact amount, he described the gesture as “generous.” Meanwhile, another musician, Jackson Potter, hinted at just how generous the moment was, reportedly sharing that Swift tipped $200 per band member.

According to Nuzz, Swift and Kelce were seated closely together with a small group as they celebrated a friend’s birthday. “They were sitting right next to each other. They were obviously having an intimate night and celebration,” he said.

Swift, dressed in a colorful outfit, appeared relaxed and fully immersed in the moment. “She was dancing. She was grooving,” Nuzz added.

The performer described the atmosphere as unforgettable, noting the room’s energy shifted once Swift arrived. “It wasn’t like anybody was bothering her. It’s just like the energy that she brought to the room; everybody was having a great time,” he said. “It was definitely one of our best shows.”

Guests were reportedly slow dancing and soaking in the vibe as the band played “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” creating what Nuzz described as a night filled with love and connection.

The outing was kept under tight wraps, with Swift and Kelce reportedly entering the venue under large umbrellas. Guests were also asked to put their phones away to protect the couple’s privacy.

Swift Feels Wedding Pressure Mount

Swift and Kelce, who got engaged in August 2025 after two years of dating, are said to be planning their next chapter, with sources hinting they could tie the knot in New York City in July, and with things moving quickly, Taylor Swift is said to be feeling the pressure.

According to a report from OK!, the singer is dealing with pre-wedding nerves after private details about the ceremony were allegedly leaked. “Taylor Swift is said to be grappling with pre-wedding nerves after sensitive details about her planned marriage to Travis Kelce were leaked, raising fears their long-anticipated ceremony could spiral into a public spectacle,” the report stated.

While there’s no indication of second thoughts about the relationship itself, the scale of the event, combined with intense public scrutiny, is reportedly taking a toll. “Taylor could not be more excited about the idea of marrying Travis, but the reality of planning something on this scale, especially under intense public scrutiny, has left her feeling increasingly on edge,” the report continued.

Report Says Taylor Swift Is Rethinking Details Amid Leaks And Scrutiny

The outlet added that Swift’s attention to detail and desire for privacy have made the situation especially difficult, with the leaks described as “deeply unsettling.”

The report claims the situation has sparked conversations about whether to rethink elements of the wedding entirely, potentially adjusting plans or taking a different approach to avoid turning the big day into the kind of media frenzy she has long tried to avoid.

But whenever the wedding does happen, according to insiders, the couple has asked guests to skip traditional gifts and instead donate to charity. Sources told Rob Shuter’s Naughty but Nice Substack that Swift and Kelce “won’t be needing any gifts,” opting to turn the celebration into an opportunity to give back.

Brooks Nader revealed what happened to Sarah Jane Nader’s nipple piercings after a trip to the Arctic.

Brooks, 29, took to Instagram on Monday, April 20, to share a gory photo of blood stains on a sheet. “PSA: Take your nipple rings out before you go to the Arctic!!!!” Brooks captioned the post, tagging Sarah Jane, 23.

Before Brooks revealed what can happen in cold temperatures, Sarah Jane joked about having concerns about the jewelry while visiting Svalbard, Norway. In one pic, she sported a skin-tight black jacket that she partially unzipped to reveal her cleavage.

“Checking on the rings 💀,” she captioned the post.

Brooks, Sarah Jane, and their other two sisters, Grace Ann and Mary Holland, all took a trip to the Arctic to participate in a women’s health experiment.

“We are all deeply passionate about women’s rights and health advocacy, and next week, we are taking a major step in our support of these causes,” Brooks captioned a post of the four of them bundled up. “We’re heading to the Arctic with @nyulangone @uarizona @thespaceprize to take part in one of the first studies exploring how women’s bodies respond to extreme conditions — from sub-zero temperatures to 24-hour daylight.”

The Sports Illustrated model continued, “Because most research in extreme environments? It’s been done on men. As women step into space programs, expeditions, and high-performance environments, the data needs to catch up. So we’re helping build it.”

On their trip, Brooks and her sisters were being tracked on their sleep, hormones, stress and recovery levels.

In July 2025, she normalized getting a period stain on her white skirt at Wimbledon. Brooks hid the fashion faux pas by walking with her bag over her bum and shuffling against walls.

“Tries to be chic,” she captioned a TikTok of herself turning around and showing the stain. “Starts 🩸 at Wimbledon.”

Madonna’s Coachella Experience Is One Of ‘Flying High’ And Theft

Madonna Stressed The Importance Of Her Missing Items at Coachella

Madonna is experiencing mixed feelings after her Coachella appearance.

The pop icon gave the musical festival all its tens, but that magnitude of a good time came at a high cost of sentimental items for the vocalist.

Madonna made a grand entry to Coachella for the first time in over a decade alongside Grammy winner Sabrina Carpenter, who headlined the festival for the second week of the festival.

The singer, in an Instagram Story posted on April 20, 2026, revealed that she was still “flying high” after her incredible performance at the festival, which featured new songs from her upcoming album “Confessions II.”

Madonna confessed that her great feeling was quickly dampened by a sad realization that some of her prized possessions were gone. She identified vintage pieces worn for her performance, like her jacket, corset, and dress, and other items that are a significant part of her wardrobe.

The singer continued to her teeming followers that she is hopeful that someone would be kind enough to locate the items and reach out to her team at the email address attached. Madonna displayed another dimension to her generosity by writing, “I’m offering a reward for their safe return. Thank you with all My Heart [pink heart emoji].”

The singer teamed up with the “Please Please Please” singer to serenade attendees of the festival on weekend two. Madonna emerged on stage midway through Carpenter’s “Juno,” where the track transitioned to her 1990 hit song “Vogue.”

As reported by The Blast, the duo hopped on another track, allegedly from her soon-to-be-released album, which also features Carpenter. The performance ended with a warm exchange of pleasantries and admiration between the two music powerhouses and a concluding performance of “Like a Prayer” from the star.

Madonna seized the opportunity to share the story of her Coachella debut with the audience, stating that it was done in a dance tent and was the first time she performed “Confessions on a Dance Floor Pt. 1” in America. In her words, “You can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So it’s like a full circle moment, very meaningful for me.”

Madonna’s Dance Fueled Criticisms On The Internet

The legend always tries to leave tongues wagging whenever she steps on the stage, and Coachella is not excluded. From her viral steamy kiss with Drake to her most recent dance moves in the crowd, the singer never fails to cause conversations.

The Blast noted on April 19 that the 67-year-old let her hips loose in the crowd, dancing like it’s 99, to the admiration of her fans and an equal dislike. Some critics wondered why she always gets herself involved in childish displays, whether for attention or to trend.

Other internet users claimed she had to be influenced by a substance for her to move like that, while some folks on the other side of the divide defended her dance moves as a harmless, carefree display. They urged the fans who had a bone to pick with her manner of expression to lean into her humor and accept her for the joyful being she had become.

Sabrina Carpenter Raved About The Rare Opportunity Of Performing Alongside The Legend

The Grammy winner also had a full-circle moment of her own, describing sharing the stage with Madonna as a very surreal moment. She expressed gratitude to the singer for providing her with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to belt out tunes together on stage.

Carpenter described the performance as a dream come true, and equally thanked other musical talents like Geena Davis, Terry Crews, and Corey Fogelmanis for lighting up the whole arena with their energies. The duo’s heartwarming gig at one of the world’s biggest music festivals comes amid anticipation for her latest project, which is set to be released on July 3 via Warner Records.

Carpenter delivered a breathtaking theatrical 20-song production titled “Sabrinawood,” which marked her return to the festival as a headliner just two years after she debuted in 2024.

The 67-year-old gave her fans another thing to be excited about when a clip of her enjoying a gondola ride with her pal Julia Garner, singing along to her “Like A Virgin” hit track.

The reunion reportedly happened while they were filming season two of the Apple TV+ series “The Studio” in Venice. The media personalities even showed up in matching outfits of black-and-white horizontally striped shirts paired with black blazers.

Madonna and Garner also wore blue jeans while being flanked by a film crew as they filmed on location along the famous Grand Canal. The stars’ sighting immediately sparked anticipation for a Madonna biopic to be played by Garner, with emphasis on the striking resemblance between the duo.

How Stargate SG-1 Used A Classic Trope To Emotionally Wreck Its Fans

How Stargate SG-1 Used A Classic Trope To Emotionally Wreck Its Fans

By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

Garfield and Friends said it best: “Oh no, we’ve resorted to an evil twin storyline.” Star Trek: The Original Series did it the best with Mirror Universe Spock, and ever since, it’s been a lazy excuse for every series to use when they run out of ideas. The exception is Stargate SG-1’s sixth episode, “Cold Lazarus,” which plays with the trope by making the twin less evil and more confused.

When fans say they skip this episode when rewatching, it’s not because it’s a lazy, poorly written episode. In fact, it’s the opposite. The ending of “Cold Lazarus” is a pivotal character moment for Jack O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) and a gut punch to the audience.

Stargate SG-1’s First Evil Twin

“Cold Lazarus” opens with the SG-1 team on a planet that doesn’t look like Vancouver (it was a giant pile of sulfur at the port of Vancouver). The desert landscape is dotted with shattered blue crystals that look like the remnants of a civilization until we see a crystal eye-view of O’Neill, a mysterious light knocks him out, and all of a sudden, a second O’Neill is looking down at the first. Turns out, the crystals are the civilization.

Fake O’Neill is trying to figure out who O’Neill is and what SGC is all about. When he pulls out photos of his family, it takes Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) by surprise. O’Neill’s never mentioned his wife, Sara, or his son, Charlie. Confused, the Fake O’Neill goes to the home, where Sara is disgusted he’d come by and thinks it’s a sick joke that he’s asking about Charlie. If you’re wondering if you missed a key part of O’Neill’s backstory, don’t worry, this is the first time that either Sara or Charlie is mentioned, and tragically, we soon learn why.

No One Ever Dies

Charlie shot himself with O’Neill’s gun. Fake O’Neill starts to piece this together when he goes into Charlie’s old room and breaks down, prompting Sara and him to finally have the conversation about their shared grief. Back in SGC, the crystal’s nature is revealed to be an energy alien calling itself Unity, which accidentally killed a Jaffa, and the Goa’uld shattered them in retribution. That’s when O’Neill stumbles back through the Stargate, and the team realizes the mistake they made.

The Fake O’Neill is soon captured at a local hospital, suffering from Earth’s radiation, where he explains that he sensed O’Neill’s pain after he took his form and wanted to help ease the suffering, as nothing ever truly dies to Unity. To prove its point, Unity transforms into Charlie, giving O’Neill and Sara one last chance to see their child. Fans who haven’t lost a child can understand the emotion, but for fans who have, this scene is emotional torture, in the best way possible.

Jack knows this isn’t Charlie, but he talks to him like he is, and then they walk together through the Stargate back to Unity’s planet. It’s a beautiful moment that explains so much about O’Neill’s throwing himself into work and how even his friendships remain professional. “Cold Lazarus” may have started out with the “evil twin” trope in full effect, but the ending is proof that even early during its run, Stargate SG-1 was going to be the greatest.

How Quinton Aaron Learned Wife Is Married To Another Man

Published

on

Quinton Aaron at

Quinton Aaron has spoken up about discovering his wife, Margarita DeLeon, was legally married to her ex after he suffered a stroke.

Margarita had been making decisions on his behalf all through his health scare, but after the revelation came to light, the actor’s family stopped her.

Amid his healing journey, Quinton Aaron disclosed that he’s yet unable to walk but is a lot better than when he was first hospitalized and is holding on to hopes he’ll soon regain his ability to walk.

Quinton Aaron Made Shocking Discovery About His Wife After Suffering A Stroke

Quinton Aaron joined ABC News for an interview on Monday morning, where he opened up about the confusing state of things between him and his wife, Margarita.

“The Blind Side” actor had been out unconscious after suffering a critical health crisis in January 2026 involving a spinal stroke that required him to be placed on life support.

However, once he gained consciousness in February, he was greeted with news that his wife, Margarita, who had been taking care of him, was still legally married to her ex-husband despite claiming throughout their relationship that she’d been divorced for over a decade.

“The entire time we were together, she told me she had been divorced for 10 plus years,” Aaron said. “She even told the person where we were getting married, ‘Oh yes, I have all the documents. I can email over to you the divorce decree.’”

The Actor Said Not Looking Into His Wife Was His ‘Biggest Mistake’

The 41-year-old tied the knot with Margarita in a “spiritual wedding” back in December 2024.

During the actor’s hospitalization, she was in charge of making major health and financial decisions on his behalf, but after the reports came to light, his family restricted her access to him.

“That’s what eventually led to the doctors removing her from around me,” Aaron said.

He then admitted that he never saw her divorce decree, adding that his not doing his due diligence about the situation was his “biggest mistake.”

“If I had a chance to do it over, I would have done my due diligence,” he reflected. “I would’ve definitely done a lot more research.”

Margarita Claims She Had No Idea Her Divorce Had Not Been Finalized

Aaron’s spiritual wife, Margarita, defended herself from his family’s claims, telling ABC News that she had no idea that the divorce had never been finalized.

“When I told Quinton back in the hospital bed, and I want to be very honest about this, I feel like this needs to be said and brought out there,” she stated.

“I said to him, I said, ‘Baby, this information that your family pulled up on me, you know, I wasn’t aware of it.’ I said, ‘This is what I found out. It is true,’” Margarita added.

Her estranged husband, Eric Guzman, stood by her claims, telling the news outlet that they both thought the divorce had gone through years ago, but since things turned out this way, he filed for divorce again in February.

Aaron’s health is now in a better condition than it used to be, but it appears his journey to full recovery may take a while.

Noting that he’s still immobile, the actor said doctors explained to him that it may take up to one year before he regains consciousness in his legs, a time frame Aaron rejects.

“The doctors projected that it could take months, it could be a year, or up to a year,” he told the news outlet. “I said, ‘I don’t claim that time frame. I’ll be walking a lot sooner than you think.’ That’s just how I believe.”

He added, “That’s how, you know, between me, my faith, and my relationship with God.”

The actor admitted his regret for not taking good care of himself sooner than now, noting how he had been ignoring warning signs.

“I started paying attention to my body because I found out over the years, it was speaking very disrespectfully to me, and I was ignoring it,” Aaron said.

Reports suggest he’s now in physical therapy at an Atlanta hospital, working to regain his ability to walk.

“He’s in therapy every day, three hours a day,” Dr. Nithin Devireddy, medical director at the hospital where Aaron is recovering, told the news outlet. “That is the benchmark of all inpatient rehabilitation facilities.”

Guy Ritchie’s Bingeworthy Crime Thriller Spikes on Streaming Following Season 2 News

Published

on

young-sherlock-poster.jpg

Individually, Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie have delivered some of the most entertaining action films ever, but when they join forces, their combined impact is undeniable. They first collaborated on the ’90s crime thriller Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which also stars Jason Flemyng and Dexter Fletcher. Not only did this mark their first project together, but it was also Statham’s feature film debut, and it quickly showed he had star potential. Just two years later, they teamed up again for another iconic crime film, Snatch, which also includes Brad Pitt. More recently, their collaborations on Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre have continued to earn praise from fans, even if they didn’t become major box office hits.

Ritchie and Statham are working on a new movie together, but before it arrives in theaters (likely next year), Ritchie still has some solo projects away from Statham to get through. Yet another Ritchie success story came earlier this year with the release of Young Sherlock, the hit series showcasing the origins of the famous British detective. The series is unconnected to Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Prime Video dropped all episodes of Young Sherlock as a binge last month on March 4, and although it took some time, the studio decided to renew the show for Season 2 just last week. It’s still unclear at this time when Young Sherlock Season 2 is going to be released, but the show is surging on streaming right now following the news of its renewal, pushing it back into the Prime Video global top 10.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Two parents in Florida have been arrested after their 1-month-old son died with bruises, scratches and lacerations that covered his body.

Ashton Kurant and Gabriella Daniels have been charged with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and neglect of a child causing great bodily harm.

Daniels, 22, called police after she found the boy unresponsive shortly before noon on Thursday, April 16, at the couple’s apartment, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit viewed by Law & Crime. Paramedics quickly reported to the scene, where they found the boy. He was pronounced dead soon after around 12:30 p.m.

While at the home, authorities noted the boy had multiple bruises along his hairline, as well as several scratches and lacerations that covered his body.

A mother and father in Union, South Carolina, have been arrested after their 5-month-old son died, with authorities allegedly believing that they neglected and abused the infant leading up to his passing. Officers with the Union Public Safety Department responded to Union Medical Center on August 8, 2025, after they received a report about potential […]

Both parents were given their Miranda warnings before they told officers that they didn’t know how the boy suffered the injuries. Officers said that the couple gave “inconsistent statements” regarding what times they fed and changed the boy, while Kurant, 21, also allegedly admitted to using marijuana while he took care of his son.

Amid the investigation, police learned that the Department of Children and Families was “involved” with the family and they saw the child six days before his death on April 10. The affidavit stated that the boy did not have any injuries at the time of the visit. However, it’s not currently clear why the department was visiting the couple’s home in the first place.

Police are still working to determine the cause and manner of the boy’s death, which will be revealed once the autopsy is completed.

Once the autopsy results come back, Kurant and Daniels could potentially face additional charges based on the boy’s cause and manner of death.

While the affidavit stated that the boy was injured, the paperwork did not detail how authorities believe the victim suffered the injuries.

Jennie Garth Wants to ‘Reconnect’ With Former 'What I Like About You' Costar Amanda Bynes

Jennie Garth hasn’t seen Amanda Bynes since their What I Like About You days.

“I haven’t [spoken to her] in a long time,” Garth, 54, said in Us Weekly’s exclusive clip from this week episode of Amanda Hirsch‘s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “I would love nothing more than to reconnect with her.”

She added, “I would love it.”

Garth played Bynes’ “uptight” sister on What I Like About You for four seasons from 2002 to 2006.

“They brought me in to do a chemistry meeting with Amanda Bynes,” Garth recalled. “That show, What I Like About You, was so fun.”

Bynes, now 40, played teenager Holly in the series, who was being cared for by her older sister, Val, played by Garth.

Garth has been reflecting on her career while promoting her book, I Choose Me, which was published earlier this month. During a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, Garth recalled working alongside disgraced television producer Dan Schneider on What I Like About You.

“I got called in by Will Calhoun, who was one of the head executives of Friends, and he was doing a new show with Amanda Bynes,” Garth recalled during the April 15 podcast episode. “[Schneider] was the other producer. He was kind of the Amanda side of it because it was starring myself and Amanda Bynes.”

Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth reminded fans of all the reasons they love the actresses during their run on What I Like About You. The duo starred as sisters Holly and Val Tyler, respectively, on the WB sitcom from 2002 to 2006. For four seasons, they cracked up viewers alongside their costars Nick Zano (Vince), Leslie Grossman […]

Schneider, now 60, worked closely with Bynes during her Nickelodeon days. Calhoun, 61, and Schneider cocreated What I Like About You.

Shepard, 51, wondered whether Garth had gotten “bad vibes” when meeting Schneider, who has previously been accused of fostering a toxic workplace and acting inappropriately with child actors. (Schneider apologized for his past actions after the 2024 release of the Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docuseries. Bynes has never made accusations against Schneider.)

“Yeah, I was, to the point where I said to Will, like, ‘I would rather just communicate solely with you. I trust you,’” Garth recalled. “‘I think that you have my best interests in mind and I don’t feel that way with your partner. So I’d rather just be with you.’ And he was like, ‘No problem.’”

Shepard’s cohost, Monica Padman, wondered whether Garth had witnessed Bynes being “destroyed” by Schneider on set.

“Not specifically him,” Garth said. “There were a lot of problems in the ecosystem of her.”
