A man whose 16 grandchildren were discovered living in squalid conditions at a rural southern Ohio home was found mentally incompetent to stand trial Wednesday.
A judge in Vinton County accepted the findings of an evaluation report for Gary Siders Sr.

Vinton County Prosecutor William Archer did not object to the findings.
The 73-year-old Siders appeared in court in a wheelchair. His attorney, Dorian Baum, said after the hearing that Siders’ mental health has been declining for years and is “not restorable.”
“It’s not really a surprise to any of us that he’s not been found competent at this point,” Baum said. “He doesn’t fully understand or appreciate what’s going on.”
Siders was charged with 16 counts of child endangerment related to the children, who were rescued June 30 from a home in Hamden about 80 miles (129 kilometers) south of Columbus.
Siders’ wife, Christina Siders; son Gary Siders Jr., and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Siders, the children’s mother, have pleaded not guilty.
Investigators said the children remained mostly confined to a small room in the house under deplorable conditions. The children weren’t enrolled in school, the family moved around over the past two decades, and neighbors said they’d never spotted the kids.
At the time they were found, the children ranged in age from 18 months to 18 years, with some described as “feral” and unable to speak. Authorities said their medical conditions varied.
The eldest was born in May 2008, two months after Gary Siders Jr., then 18, and Elizabeth, then 15, crossed into West Virginia to marry at the Mason County Courthouse with her parents’ consent, according to court records. She has been pregnant most years since then, the records show.

Beyond the Gates: Kat & Chelsea in Trouble

So, Wednesday, September 9th on Beyond the Gates, Naomi is coming up with a game plan for Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad) and Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) as things get worse for the fashionistas and their fashion company. Right now, Kat and Chelsea had to back out of the Tokyo show, but they can’t say why they did it publicly or they could face a slander lawsuit.

Tyrell Richardson’s (Jaden Lucas Miller) freshman year of college starts soon, so Martin and Smitty throw Tyrell a sendoff as he leaves for Banneker. Jessica is there celebrating his college-bound journey. Martin and Smitty wanted to go big, but Tyrell wanted to keep things more modest.

Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges is) puts his dad Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik) in check, and this could be from Jacob’s frustrations mounting over the Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) death case. And if Elon presses him about Smitty possibly having a hand in this, I think Jacob will shut that down. I’m sure Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) is going to have nothing but positive vibes from Vanessa’s remodeling as she unveils the new luxurious High Rollers Lounge at his casino.

BTG Spoilers: Vanessa Thrills Joey

I’m sure Joey will love every last touch that Vanessa added, and they probably have a new table to break in on top of the old poker table they used to do the deed on. Also on Wednesday, Heather’s at Orphe Jeans and chats with Samantha Richardson (Najah Jackson) and Tyrell.

And then Heather tells Nicole she’s smitten with her lovely grandchildren. And Nicole is going to lose it and go confront Joey because Nicole knows exactly who Heather is and does not want that woman near Samantha or Tyrell. So, Nicole goes over to the High Rollers Lounge room mad, lays into Joey, and says, “Keep your sister away from my grandkids.”

So, Nicole might be the surprise visitor that’s mentioned in the spoilers for Joey. The spoilers also say Joey realizes he has quite a bit in common with his surprise visitor. And that could be Nicole because both he and Joey have no use for Heather, don’t want her around their loved ones. Vanessa’s also there. She may try to diffuse the tension. I suspect Joey may tell Nicole he agrees. He doesn’t want Heather near her kids or even in the DMV at all.

Beyond the Gates: Leslie’s Still at It

Thursday, September 10th on Beyond the Gates. Dana “Leslie” Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) is back again. After Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) agreed to all her terms, she’s not stopping. So this week, she caved on all of Leslie’s demands, even the producer credit, which was the sticking point. But Anita also made clear that even though Leslie is going to be there when they tape, she has to keep her mouth shut.

Nobody wants her opinion. Nobody wants her input. Despite Anita and Leslie reaching that agreement on Tuesday, Eva Thomas Richardson (Ambyr Michelle) and Leslie show up uninvited to Anita and Vernon’s house this week. Anita’s annoyed and asks what Leslie wants and she says, “Don’t get twisty, Nita.” And then Leslie tells Anita they just want a minute of her time. The spoiler says they all face the music. So maybe Eva, Leslie and the others want to listen to Barbara’s tapes.

Leslie Has More Demands on BTG

I wouldn’t be surprised though if Leslie’s asking for something else, like for Eva to also be involved since Barbara’s her grandmother. I think Eva would be horrified and embarrassed by Leslie yet again. Bill’s daughter drops a big bombshell. So, this could be Chelsea or Naomi. And Deanna McBride (Angela Fairley) is struggling and makes a big decision after she hits a breaking point. And this is all because Doug McBride (Jason Graham) is haunting her.

So, we could see Deanna engaging in some kind of rash action against Joey. This poor girl, Deanna, needs some grief therapy because none of this is healthy. Vanessa gets vulnerable with Izaiah Hawthorne (David Lami Friebe) while she’s really worried about Deanna. And since Isaiah is a counselor at Banneker, he may have some advice for Vanessa on how to pull Deanna out of this funk and get her headed back to college.

BTG Spoilers: Ted in a Tough Spot

Friday, September 11th on Beyond the Gates. We all saw Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) got nowhere fast with Shanice Johnson’s (Ernestine Johnson) brothers because Leslie deliberately sabotaged him, trying to wreck his relationship.

But Shanice is not going to let Cedric and Lamont torment Ted for what Leslie did. She’s going to take a stand, and we know Shanice doesn’t play. Kat and Tomas argue, and that sends him running to lean on Eva yet again. And by Friday, Bill is grilling Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings). And I wonder at what point Bill’s going to figure out Hayley’s feedings coincide with him getting sick.

Haley’s Time is Up

Now that he’s using that Pacemaker app, he has a visual tool to monitor the timeline of his bouts of dizziness and weakness and the blackouts. And it’s all going to point back to Hayley. But Bill’s distracted from his heart and Hayley problems when he gets into a flirty text exchange with Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley). She’s away with Andre in Korea. But it doesn’t stop Bill and Dani from sending provocative text messages to each other.

So, it sounds like Bill sends something sexy to Dani and she texts back asking if he’s trying to tempt her and then says to do what? Knock some sense into you. And Bill hits back saying, “Come home and say that to my face and see what happens.” When Dani sees that one, she starts giggling. And Andre hears her and asks what Dani is laughing about. She looks stunned and she may lie to Andre.

Dani already stopped Andre from contacting the front desk to ask about the champagne, but he was so anxious to know that I think he’s going to try again because spoilers say Andre completes his mission. Chelsea and Madison find some much-needed time for romance.

Beyond the Gates: Smitty on a Mission

And then the week of September 14th through the 18th on Beyond the Gates, Jacob and Smitty keep investigating Lia’s death. And with Heather looming, this could be dangerous. Chelsea and Kat worry that their company won’t recover from the sweat shop scandal, but they are trapped because Naomi advised they can’t come out about Takahashi until the scandal goes public or they could be sued.

Hopefully, Naomi is going to find them a way out of this mess. Bill’s mistrust of Hayley grows and if she senses she’s losing control of Bill, she may get even sloppier and more desperate. Diana is about to make a decision which could affect the rest of her life and not in a good way. And Leslie is going to be underfoot and in everybody’s way and making it all about her as they start recording The Articulettes album. Anita is going to regret ever agreeing to Leslie’s terms and conditions.

BTG Spoilers: Heather’s Gotta Go

Joey needs to get Heather out of the DMV or at the very least under control. But Joey knows Heather and this is not going to be an easy feat. Ted needs a solution for dealing with Shanice’s brothers. Maybe he can bring Lamont and Cedric back up to Fairmont Crest to play one of his pick-up basketball games with him and his friends.

Andre tries to hide his past from Dani, but now he’s got another problem and it’s Bill yet again. We may see Andre sneaking a look at Dani’s phone to see who she was texting with while she was laughing. I’m sure Andre is not going to be happy to find out that it is Bill who has his wife’s attention. And that is not cool at all. She’s got a big bill problem. Kat and Tomas’ relationship wasn’t doing too well last week and in this week more stress is added and none of this is a good thing.

A Texas man is charged with murder in his 73-year-old mother’s death after authorities said the woman’s body was discovered inside a duffel bag during a welfare check.

Dyna Guadalupe Sorto De Malik was found dead at a home in Houston on September 1 after her daughter alerted authorities that she couldn’t get in contact with her mother, KTRK-TV reported.

Malik’s body had been wrapped in a sheet and a rug, both of which were stained with blood, inside the duffel bag at the residence, according to court records viewed by the TV station.

Following the discovery, deputies detained Malik’s son, Arman Alexander Malik, 34, at the home, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a Monday, September 7, news release.

Arman appeared “under the influence of an unknown substance” when he was apprehended and was evaluated at a hospital as a result, the sheriff said.

An investigation revealed Arman allegedly hid his mother’s body at her home, according to Gonzalez.

As a result, he was initially charged with tampering with physical evidence/concealing a human corpse, the sheriff said. He was arrested on Monday and detained at the Harris County Jail.

“As the investigation continued, homicide detectives filed an additional charge of murder against Malik,” Gonzalez said.

According to court records obtained by KTRK-TV, Arman “unlawfully intended” to seriously injure Dyna by beating her to death.

Detectives who encountered Arman at the crime scene said in their filings that he appeared to have dried blood under his nails and scratches on his hands, per the TV station.

Arman is also accused of moving home surveillance cameras around, according to an affidavit obtained by KHOU.

The affidavit reportedly states that Dyna’s body had significantly decomposed by the time she was located.

Dyna’s neighbor, Shaun Ward, told the TV station that Arman had moved into her home ahead of her death.

“I was real shocked,” Ward said while speaking with KHOU. “Like, I seen him maybe once or twice outside, you know, blowing the leaves and stuff, but I could never imagine her own son would do it, like, that’s scary, real scary.”

Ward added that by the time deputies visited Dyna’s home the evening of September 1, he hadn’t seen her “in a few days.”

During a Tuesday, September 8, hearing, Arman had his bond set at $500,000, according to the TV station.

“I just feel like getting in the right mental headspace has been the biggest thing for me with recovering from my eating disorder and just trying to have a better relationship with my body and food in general,” Taylor told PEOPLE ahead of New York City’s Fashion Week. “I think being in the best mental headspace when you’re going into an environment like modeling where your body is out there, and people are open to making criticism of it, just making sure that you’re mentally good has been my top priority coming into this fashion week.”

For those unfamiliar, Taylor opened up about her struggle during season 4 of the hit Hulu reality show. She shared even more in a vulnerable Instagram post in March 2026. “For the past two years, I’ve been struggling silently with an eating disorder I believed I had left behind in high school,” she said candidly.

“Far before I touched [GLP-1 medications] I’ve had my struggles. It’s been lonely and exhausting, fighting a battle in my own brain while trying to show up like everything is okay and receive comments daily on my body. Recovery has been messy and far from linear. Some days feel strong, and others feel really heavy,” she continued.

Sydney Sweeney is once again in the news for a controversial advertisement after appearing naked in an ad campaign for sports prediction platform Novig.

Online reactions have been largely negative, with some people praising her while several others offer sharp criticism, continuing a noticeable pattern of polarized responses to the actress and her brand collaborations.

The “Just Sports” campaign is Sydney Sweeney’s first partnership with Novig and follows her other major advertisement, which drew a wave of criticism as well as compliments.

In her new advertisement, Sweeney appears nude with various balls and other equipment covering her intimate areas.

“Think you know sports? Prove it,” Sweeney says as the ad begins. She then goes on to explain the concept behind the campaign, saying, “Novig is just sports. So, they wanted to show just sports.”

The campaign represents the brand’s first major national advertisement push. The company, per the Irish Star, functions as a sports prediction market where users can trade on sports games against each other.

According to Novig, they are “Just sports. No war. No death. No politics. Just sports.” The company claims to be focused exclusively on sports rather than other events, political or otherwise.

Sweeney’s performance in the advert has brought significant attention to the campaign since its release, with social media users making their feelings about the 28-year-old and her partnership with the company very clear.

Another questioned whether the “Euphoria” star ever gets tired of having her body be the main attraction, while others expressed their disbelief that the company was “Selling s-x to sell gambling,” which one commenter said was “a tale as old as time.”

Over on X, one person wrote, “Selling gambling by selling sex. Society is crumbling before our eyes.”

Others focused on the actress’ supposed skill at starting conversations through her work in advertising, with one commenter writing “she definitely understands marketing,” and another saying “Sydney Sweeney knows ball.”

Sweeney, unlike other celebrities who feature in ad campaigns, isn’t just another brand ambassador. She has reportedly joined Novig as an equity partner and helped create their marketing message.

The ‘Euphoria’ Star Helped Create The ‘Just Sports’ Campaign

Speaking to Complex, Sweeney revealed that she had been involved in creative discussions about the controversial campaign from the very beginning rather than simply appearing in the ad after the fact.

“I don’t like to just put my face on something; I really want to be able to get into the weeds of it with an amazing team. And I got to meet the Novig team,” she told the outlet.

She stated that she had developed a close relationship with the Novig team and believed in Jacob Fortinsky, the CEO and co-founder.

The “Christy” star filmed the campaign while working on Netflix’s live-action Gundam movie in Australia and called being so far away “kind of isolating,” but was excited that her team was able to be there for her.

“It can be kind of isolating when you’re away for that long,” she told Complex, adding that her “glam team” of almost a decade was like family to her and that “it was really exciting to be able to see them again.”

Controversial Campaign After Controversial Campaign For Sydney Sweeney

The Novig campaign is not Sweeney’s first time being a major topic of conversation because of a controversial ad that split online discourse.

Last year, the 28-year-old appeared in an American Eagle Jeans campaign built around the phrase that became a bone of contention for many, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”

American Eagle played on the words “jeans” and “genes,” which caused people to associate the campaign with the concept of eugenics.

The campaign received criticism over its reference to inherited characteristics, particularly because Sweeney’s blonde hair and blue eyes were highlighted in the campaign.

Sweeney also generated attention through a partnership with Dr. Squatch, which involved the actress selling a limited-edition soap that supposedly contained her bathwater.

“Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss”, as the product was called, added to the list of controversial advertisements Sweeney was involved in.

The latest Novig campaign continues the pattern and is likely not going to be the last in her growing advertisements portfolio, as the actress doesn’t seem to be interested in being out of the spotlight anytime soon.

The Challenge alum Chris “CT” Tamburello’s divorce from Catalina White is still ongoing.

CT, 46, and Catalina, 40, got married in 2024. She filed for divorce in January but eventually asked to dismiss her motion. CT later filed his own petition in June, claiming the pair’s marriage “is irretrievably broken.”

In his filing, obtained by Us, CT asked the court to equitably divide the couple’s joint assets. “The parties have accumulated certain property consisting of assets and liabilities during the course of their marriage,” the docs read. “There is justification for the court to equitably divide these assets between the parties, so as to achieve an equitable distribution of the assets and liabilities.”

CT further asked to be awarded all of his “premarital and nonmarital assets” that he accrued prior to his marriage to Catalina.

Hey, The Bold and the Beautiful fans. We have got your early weekly spoilers for the week starting September 14th with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) showing what looks like pregnancy symptoms that could send her and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) both into a tailspin.

Plus, Katie Logan (Heather Tom) just won’t stop and she’s unhinged and running around trying to ruin her son’s relationship. Also, during the week of September 14th through the 18th, we’ve got Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) giving Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) some advice, some more advice.

Plus, we may get the offer of a frozen egg. And also, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) is soon very annoyed with her sister yet again. As we always do on early edition day, we go over what is happening the rest of this week and then we get into what is coming next week.

And if you didn’t notice, just a real quick note, on Tuesday, September 8th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, it was season 40, episode one, and they rolled out a new intro. There’s the number 40 in the background, they’ve changed some of the fabrics, they put 40 on some of the necklaces. It’s not drastically different, the baseline photos are the same. All right, let’s dive in.

Bold and the Beautiful: Electra Under Pressure

Wednesday, September 9th on The Bold and the Beautiful, Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) gets another unexpected visitor after she just had to toss Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) out so Eric Forrester (John McCook) wouldn’t see him. This week, we know that Katie goes to see Electra at the Forrester mansion, and she may tell Katie that Will was there.

Katie wants Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) out of Will’s life and is ignoring him when he tells her to stand down. Meanwhile, Finn gives some helpful medical advice at their dinner. Daphne said she’s realized she’s going to need a donor egg so she and Carter can start their family. So, we may soon see guilt-ridden Steffy offer up one of her frozen eggs. And I can actually see Finn being supportive.

But of course, things get really complicated soon because Steffy is having symptoms that could indicate a pregnancy. She has had headaches and lost her appetite. She was a little lightheaded and she was running really hot at dinner. Finn’s worried. But Steffy may assume these symptoms are about the intense stress she’s under right now because of all the guilt.

B&B Spoilers: Darcy & Dylan Have a Heart-to-Heart

Thursday, September 10th on The Bold and the Beautiful. Dylan’s feelings for Will come into question. This could be Katie again. But also Dylan’s mom, Darcy, is questioning Dylan about her feelings for Will. She wants to make sure her daughter is genuinely in love and not just infatuated because Dylan’s never been in love before.

Also this week, despite Will going to see Electra and asking if they can be friends, Will and Dylan are having a blissful make out session on the deck sofa. So, he is still full speed ahead with her while he is also still texting and trying to talk to Electra. Darcy really likes Will and she’s happy for Dylan but is worried about her. I think Darcy just wants to make sure that Dylan is sure about her feelings, especially given the issues with Katie pressuring Will about her.

Bold and Beautiful: Eric’s Relentless with Electra

Also, this week, we have more of Eric exerting pressure on Electra. They’re going to resume their conversation, and she tells Eric she’s worried that she’ll lose Will forever. Electra is whining about Dylan moving on with Will and Eric says, “Good. Let Dylan have him.” And then Electra tells Eric she doesn’t want to jeopardize her career or her place in the Forrester family, but she does not want to lose Will.

And Eric claps back and tells Electra to just let Will move on with Dylan and says it’s best. But Electra says every time she closes her eyes, she sees Will. And Eric kind of loses his temper a little bit and he snaps back at Electra. And Eric tells Electra, “If you see him when you close your eyes, then open your eyes.” So, she may have no choice but to keep doing what Eric says because he’s not going to back down.

B&B Spoilers: Katie Comes at Electra

Friday, September 11th on The Bold and the Beautiful, we’ve got Katie appealing to Electra. So, this should carry over from a prior episode, but Katie’s going to drop by Eric’s mansion this week, and she’s pressuring Electra to go grab her relationship with Will back.

Now, we know Electra finally realized that she was in the wrong with Will and also wrong to blame Dylan for their split. Electra misses Will, and I bet Katie will be thrilled to hear this. And we know she’s going to push Electra to fight for Will, but I don’t know if Electra is going to do that. Not yet.

Anyway, Carter and Steffy find their futures put to the test. I suspect that this spoiler might mean a literal test and not a metaphor. Because at dinner with Finn and Carter and Daphne, we saw Steffy feeling off and she may realize that these could be stress symptoms or they could be pregnancy symptoms. So, she may warn Carter and go get a pregnancy test.

Bold and Beautiful: Electra Gets Closer to RJ

The week of September 14th through the 18th on The Bold and the Beautiful, we’ll see if Katie’s appeal works and if Electra is going to defy Eric and make a play for Will. I kind of suspect Electra is going to cave to family pressure because false spoilers have Will all in on things with Dylan and them getting closer while RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) and Electra get closer. Steffy may take a pregnancy test by the end of the prior week, but we could end up with a cliffhanger. We’ll see.

It already looks like she’s experiencing symptoms because Finn’s wife is dizzy and she’s lightheaded and Finn brought up that she’s been getting headaches. Those are all early pregnancy symptoms. And Brad Bell has promised us big fallout. He said there’s lots more to come from Carter and Steffy’s secret night and that the ripple effects could be felt for years to come. The years to come sounds like a pregnancy hint to me.

Steffy’s Next Paternity Test on Bold

And if she is pregnant, the first thing is to find out who’s the daddy. Is it Finn or is it Carter? This would be Steffy’s third baby daddy dilemma if she turns up pregnant and her third paternity test. Brooke soon gets a storyline of her own. Plus, her fashion rivalry with Katie heats up again very soon.

And Brooke and Katie are back to battling and there’s going to be big consequences from this. Brooke’s issues with Katie may be because she is making more moves at Logan that Brooke considers go too far. It looks like more sister cat bites. Hopefully, Brooke isn’t going to go over and assault her sister Katie again or vandalize anything else at Logan. So, this all heats up. And I’m excited to see more of the fashion rivalry.

Bold and the Beautiful: Will’s All-In with Dylan

Despite the fact that Will just went to visit Electra and told her that he missed her and wants to be friends. And regardless of Katie’s objections, we’re going to see Will basking in this new relationship with Dylan. He’s not holding back. We’ll see if Will takes things slowly or if he moves forward faster and asks Dylan to move in with him.

Also, she keeps saying that she loves him and knows it’s too soon for him to say it, but I’m curious if Will is even open to that since Katie called Electra the love of his life, which is crazy. He’s what, like twenty-two. Katie doesn’t know anything about Will’s love of his life, and that’s just his first love.

So, it would obviously infuriate both Katie and Electra if Will did ask Dylan to move in with him. I think Darcy will be cheering for Will and Dylan. And we know that Darcy is staying in LA. Daphne and Finn may get suspicious because Steffy and Carter are acting so guilty.

RJ is going to keep trying to take Electra’s mind off of Will, but the Forresters are not going to relent on Electra and they want her to stay away from the guy. We’ll see more of Electra’s family showing up in LA in the next few weeks. By the way, I suspect we’re going to meet her parents.

Buddy Red, also known as Messiah Harris, recently tapped his sister to help bring some added flavor to his latest music. In a video shared on Instagram, Buddy gave fans a look inside the studio as he explained that he’s been working on a few songs for an upcoming project, but felt like something was missing — specifically, some “feminine energy.”

The clip then cuts to Zonnique posted up in a black hoodie and headphones, laying down background vocals behind the mic after her brother asked his “NiqeNiqe” to come through. Zonnique also gave the camera some sisterly love, saying, “I love my rockstar brother.”

Buddy Red Called, And Zonnique Answered!

The sibling love continued on social media, with a series of images showing Zonnique and Buddy Red looking happy and comfortable in the studio. Dressed casually, the two appeared to be enjoying each other’s company as they worked on the music. In one Instagram Story post, Zonnique shared a photo of her brother seated at the studio console, adding the text, “my brother called me to the studio today.”

And it sounds like the vocals were a hit! Buddy captioned the post, “she killed it too!” while Zonnique hopped into the comments with a sweet message of her own: “I’m still in awe of you!! If you call I’m otwwww” alongside flower emojis. Looks like Buddy already knows exactly who to call when his tracks need a little extra magic!
