The hot weather is forecast to make a return to the UK in just a few days’ time
Scotland could soon see another spell of warm weather, with temperatures forecast well above average.
Temperature anomaly maps for this time of year show areas of deep red across Scotland, indicating temperatures could rise above the season average, reports the Mirror.
While parts of the UK could reach as high as 30C, next week, parts of Scotland could reach as high as 24C, with much of the central belt sitting in the low 20s next week.
Meanwhile, the Met Office confirmed that this week, temperatures should peak at 19C to 22C across the UK, adding that Tuesday (June 2) could even bring thunder and heavy shower. The GFS weather model suggests these conditions may be short-lived, with the mercury potentially hitting 30C again as soon as June 11.
The weather charts indicate those peaks arriving in the south-east, around the London area, at roughly 6pm. Comparable highs might follow in the south-east on June 15, according to the model, with peaks of 28C possibly reaching as far north as Yorkshire.
June 16 could deliver 30C maximums in the south-east once again, with temperatures in the mid-to-high-20s expected right across the UK.
Overall, the charts indicate 16 counties might experience temperatures of 28C or higher during the three-day period.

Met Office weather forecast for June The Met Office has indicated that temperatures could become “hot” in certain areas before the month concludes.
However, the national meteorological service has also cautioned about the potential for thunderstorms.
The Met Office outlook for June 16 to 30 reads: “The start of the period is likely to be relatively settled, with high pressure in the vicinity of the UK bringing drier conditions to most parts of the UK.
“However some showers or spells of rain are still possible. Winds will mostly be light with temperatures probably above normal. Towards the end of June, low pressure may begin to have more of an influence, especially across the south where heavy showers and thunderstorms become more probable. It may also become hot in parts of the south.”
