Cardinals’ Jordan Walker becomes fifth confirmed participant in Home Run Derby

Published

on

The 24-year-old is the fifth player announced for the competition, joining Boston’s Willson Contreras, Kansas City’s Jac Caglianone, Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero and the New York Yankees’ Ben Rice. The other three participants haven’t been announced.

Walker is a first-time All-Star who is having a breakout season and his 21 homers rank fifth in the National League. The 2020 first-round draft pick is batting .294, has an .889 OPS and leads the big leagues with 70 RBIs.

He’ll be the eighth Cardinals player to compete in the competition, joining Jack Clark (1985), Ray Lankford (1997), Mark McGwire (1998-99), Jim Edmonds (2003), Albert Pujols (2003, 2007, 2009, 2022), Matt Holliday (2010-11) and Carlos Beltran (2012).

A Cardinals player has never won the derby.

Former world champion willing to end four years out the ring to face Chris Eubank Jr: “I will fight him”

Published

on

Chris Eubank Jr is expected to return before the end of the year as he seeks to bounce back from a one-sided defeat to Conor Benn, and now a former world champion who has not fought in over four years has confirmed his interest in the clash.

Hampered by the weight limit and rehydration clause, Eubank continued his family’s success over the Benns with a decision triumph over his cross-generational rival last April, replicating the efforts of his father, Eubank Sr, who trumped Nigel Benn 35 years prior.

However, in the rematch back in November, Eubank Jr looked a shadow of himself as he was comprehensively outboxed and outfought by Benn, reaching the final bell by the skin of his teeth before a lopsided verdict was formally confirmed.

Since then, Eubank Jr has shunned the idea of retirement and has instead been linked to a catchweight affair with Australia’s Michael Zerafa, who signed with Matchroom Boxing last week and announced an August appearance on the Teremoana Teremoana vs. DeAndre Savage undercard in Queensland.

Whilst that contest may be presumably planned to tee up a scrap between Eubank and Zerafa at the end of the year, former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook told Boxing King Media that he would be willing to come out of retirement and take on his fellow Briton, if the offer is fair.

“Absolutely, [I am retired unless the right offer comes along]. If the right offer comes, I will fight. We have got history, me and Chris Eubank Jnr.”

“The offer still stands, if we can be sensible and they can give me what I am worth, then that fight can happen. If it doesn’t, I am happy.”

Brook hasn’t fought since his stoppage win over bitter rival Amir Khan back in February 2022, after a career which saw him also share the ring with the likes of Terence Crawford, Gennady Golovkin, Errol Spence and Shawn Porter.

As for Eubank Jr, he continues to claim that he is a free agent, but Boxxer’s Ben Shalom has maintained that he has a contract in place with the polarising middleweight and that he will be promoting his next fight.

Once you have completed the Devil’s Advocate quest, you can initiate The Siege of Charles-Towne main quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced by heading toward the quest marker in the Dry Tortuga region.

Simply fast-travel to Abaco Island and sail northwest from there to find Blackbeard’s ship, led by Bonnet. Then get close to it and select the “Start Quest” prompt to begin. This will trigger two back-to-back cutscenes where you learn that Thatch has taken hostages outside Charles-Towne to trade them for medicines.

Tail the gunboat

After the cutscene ends, you will be back at the helm of the Jackdaw. Quietly sail your ship behind a British gunboat and tail it to learn more about the location of medicines.

Eventually, you will reach a spot where Adewale will mention that we cannot pass undetected. At this point, park the ship on the side and disembark from it.

Sabotage the alarm bell

Once you are on land, you will get the objective to sabotage the alarm bell. To do so, simply head over to the tower shown in the image above. You will find the alarm bell at the ground level just behind it, guarded by a few guards.

Just sneak behind the enemies and assassinate without being noticed. Afterward, get close to the alarm bell and destroy it. Now return to the Jackdaw to proceed further in The Siege of Charles-Towne main quest of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Continue tailing the gunboat

As soon as you are back at the helm, continue tailing the British gunboat again. After following it a bit further, you will reach an area with shallow waters through which your ship cannot pass.

At this point, disembark from the Jackdaw again and go to the gunboat’s location on foot. Here you will find that the British are now traveling ahead on a small sailboat.

The next objective of the mission is to tail Officer Ryder. He is highlighted by the quest marker. Simply follow his sailboat around without being spotted.

He will then lead you to Captain Wyatt of the British Navy, who holds the key to the warehouse containing medicines.

Your next task is rather simple. Just go after the Captain toward his mansion while defeating hordes of soldiers along the way. Upon reaching him, kill him to take the key from him.

Doing so will trigger the final cutscene of The Siege of Charles-Towne main quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, marking its completion.
