Jarrod Bowen has been linked with a move to Manchester United following West Ham United’s relegation from the Premier League to the Championship
Manchester United transfer target Jarrod Bowen has appeared in West Ham United’s new kit launch. The 29-year-old has been touted for a departure from the London Stadium following the club’s relegation to the Championship, with Michael Carrick’s side joining Aston Villa and Everton in the race for his signature.
After selling Mateus Fernandes, who was United’s top midfield target, to Tottenham for £85million, the Hammers aren’t under pressure to offload their captain and would almost certainly prefer to retain him as they target an immediate return to the Premier League.
And the likelihood of him remaining appears to have grown with Bowen featuring heavily in West Ham’s kit launch for the 2026/27 season.
In the 15-second clip shared on their social media, Bowen is the first player shown, with the former Hull City winger seated and wearing a serious expression.
With Tomas Soucek also appearing in the brief video, it indicates that it was either recorded before the World Cup began or after Czech Republic were eliminated last Thursday.
Consequently, it’s especially hard to interpret it as a clear indication of Bowen’s future, but his presence does at least imply West Ham are optimistic he will be wearing that kit next season.
Bowen’s colleague Crysencio Summerville has also been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, though their focus appears to be on midfield signings.
Having missed out on Fernandes, United look set to switch their focus onto Bournemouth’s Alex Scott. Arsenal are their main competition for the 22-year-old, though the Cherries are not open to selling him.
His club team-mate Tyler Adams is also believed to be of interest alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha following his strong displays at the World Cup with Germany.
Elliot Anderson was their top target, but he ultimately opted to make a £116million move to Manchester City. In addition to the agreed signing of Ederson, United are expected to seal at least one more signing in the engine room with the likelihood of that only increasing following Manuel Ugarte’s injury.
