Man United transfer news: Deadline day loan offer ‘prepared’ as Cole Palmer fee ‘revealed’

Time is ticking for clubs to do business in the January transfer window – and we have rounded up the latest Manchester United transfer rumours

Transfer deadline day is here – and Manchester United have just hours remaining to conduct any business. The Reds will be required to wrap up any final business by 7pm tonight.

Michael Carrick has almost dispelled the notion of needing any reinforcements with a perfect start to life in charge at Old Trafford. United earned a dramatic victory over Fulham on Sunday afternoon to continue his winning streak since taking over.

United looked to have blown a comfortable 2-0 lead after Raul Jimenez scored a penalty five minutes from time and Kevin curled in a fine strike in the first minute of time added on. But moments later Benjamin Sesko struck as the Reds made it three wins in a row under interim boss Carrick, climbing back into the Premier League’s top four.

With only the Premier League to focus on, the next hours may see more activity out of Old Trafford than in, and with that in mind, we have rounded-up the latest transfer rumours.

Gabriele Biancheri ‘wanted’

Rotherham are reportedly planning to make a loan offer for Manchester United forward Gabriele Biancheri. That’s according to Football League World, who are reporting that the Millers want a versatile forward and believe Biancheri fits the bill, having notched five goals and three assists in 10 Premier League 2 games this season.

Biancheri, who is eligible to represent Wales, Italy and Canada, signed for the Reds in 2023 from Cardiff and scored 12 goals in the under-18s Premier League in 2023/24 before scoring 22 times across under-18s and under-21s competitions last term.

Should the forward make the move to the AESSEAL New York Stadium, then he would be linking up with United team-mate Dan Gore, who joined Rotherham during the summer transfer window.

Cole Palmer ‘valuation’

A world record transfer fee would reportedly be required to prise Cole Palmer away from Chelsea. The England international has struggled with injuries so far this campaign, but has already cemented himself as the club’s talisman in his first two seasons at the club.

Chelsea signed Palmer for around £40million from Manchester City and would need an outrageous fee to part ways with the forward.

United have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but it is being claimed they would take an astronomical transfer fee for Chelsea to even consider letting him leave. The same report from Football Insider is claiming that Palmer currently has no plans to leave Chelsea and is said to be happy to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Two midfielders ‘wanted’

Manchester United will make a ‘very strong’ move for midfielders in the summer. The position has been a priority for the club since the summer, and with Casemiro’s exit confirmed, United will need to add to their options, regardless of who ends up in charge.

Fabrizio Romano claims the club could even move for two new midfielders to bolster its ranks. United have been linked to Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Joao Gomes, and none are likely to arrive cheaply in the summer.

Leon Goretzka will be available for free come the summer, and United have been credited with interest. Romano claims that nothing is ‘advanced’ for the German amid United’s push for midfielders.
