Jada Pinkett Smith has emerged victorious in a shocking lawsuit filed against her by Will Smith‘s former pal.

The actress got dragged to court last year when a man named Bilaal Salaam accused her of threats, harassment, and more. He sued her for $3 million in damages.

Jada Pinkett Smith denied all allegations of wrongdoing and pushed to have the claims against her dismissed.

According to new reports, Jada and Bilaal’s legal drama has ended in the actress’s favor. The latter was ordered by the court to cough up $32,836 in legal fees after Jada initially requested that Bilaal pay $49,181.

TMZ reported that the order for Bilaal to cover Jada’s attorney fees came after she successfully convinced the judge to dismiss some of Bilaal’s claims. When he sued Jada in 2025, he claimed he had suffered emotional distress due to her actions.

Bilaal implied he had no issues with Will, claiming the actor’s team had called him to help with damage control after the infamous Oscars slap incident. However, Jada and her associates became aggressive towards him when they discovered he was working on a memoir that would detail his experiences with the Smith family.

Inside The Accuser’s $3 Million Lawsuit

When Bilaal filed his allegations against Jada, he did so in November 2025, asking for $3 million in damages. The outlet reported that he described himself as a longtime friend of Will for almost 40 years, allegedly working together on several professional and personal projects.

Bilaal’s issues with Jada allegedly began in September 2021 at the private birthday gathering for Will’s 53rd birthday party in a Calabasas movie theater. He claimed he was approached by Jada and seven people from her entourage.

The plaintiff accused Jada of becoming “verbally aggressive,” warning that he would “end up missing or catch a bullet” if he kept telling people about her business. Bilaal even claimed Jada wanted him to sign an NDA or face dire consequences.

Bilaal Salaam Failed To Get A Restraining Order Against The Actress

Months before Bilaal was ordered to pay Jada’s legal fees, The Blast reported in February that he had lost his bid for a restraining order. Bilaal and Jada had faced off in court, each testifying, and the judge concluded that there was insufficient evidence for a permanent restraining order.

Bilaal had attempted to get the order banning Jada from coming within 100 yards of him or harassing him after painting a dire picture. He claimed his life was in danger and he had experienced extreme stress, anxiety, and humiliation because of the TV personality.

According to Bilaal, he even relocated from the country at one point because he feared Jada would make good on her threats to harm him. Bilaal doubled down on being the victim of emotional distress, claiming he suffered from sleeplessness, depression, and constant fear for his safety.

The Plaintiff Blamed His Weight Gain On The Entertainer

Bilaal’s accusations against Jada did not end after the restraining order loss, with The Blast sharing in April that he had filed new allegations against her. Bilaal argued that he gained significant weight because of the highly publicized case.

According to Bilaal’s claims, the publicity from the legal drama with Jada caused him emotional distress, which in turn led to him gaining weight. He even claimed that the pounds he added ultimately cost him a romantic relationship.

Bilaal reiterated that he had to temporarily leave US soil because he feared for his safety due to Jada’s alleged threats. However, Jada fired back with a strong rebuttal, stressing that Bilaal had failed to provide evidence connecting her to his alleged emotional distress and suffering.

The same month Bilaal blamed his weight gain on Jada, The Blast reported that the entertainer had faced backlash for her comments. The drama began when she addressed her controversial relationship with singer August Alsina during her complicated marriage to Will.

The “Gotham” star reflected on the fallout of addressing the relationship on her “Red Table Talk” show with Will, implying she had intentionally painted herself as the bad guy. “If I’ve got to look like the adulterous wife to make sure you’re good, I’mma do it,” Jada said.

Her words did not sit right with fans, who called her out on social media platforms like X. Many saw Jada’s words as an attempt to downplay her adultery, while others slammed her for trying to paint herself as the bigger person in the situation.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled on Monday that Pitt cannot compel Jolie to release a collection of private emails connected to her decision to sell her stake in the estate.

According to Page Six, the court found that Pitt “has not met his burden” required to override Jolie’s claim that the communications are legally protected.

The ruling was issued without prejudice, leaving open the possibility of revisiting the issue later in the proceedings.

Actor Adam Driver famously doesn’t like to watch himself on screen. He may have attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote James Gray’s “Paper Tiger,” but he slipped out of the theater after walking the red carpet with his wife, Joanne Tucker. Fortunately, he was there when the lights came back on in order to witness the film’s ten-minute standing ovation. While speaking with the film’s director about the movie, the “Star Wars” actor revealed that he has only watched one film at Cannes for a heartbreaking reason.

Last Saturday, the “Marriage Story” actor attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of his movie “Paper Tiger,” which also stars Miles Teller and Scarlett Johansson. After walking the red carpet with his wife, he took his seat and waited for the movie to start playing before he slipped away.

“I can’t stand to watch myself,” Driver told Variety. “I have a whole system where I wait until everything is starting, and I go through these mazes into a room that overlooks all these boats. And then I sneak back in and try not to be noisy so I can be there as the lights come up.”

Fans of the actor know that he doesn’t like to watch his own films, but there is one Cannes film premiere that he did watch in order to support a friend.

Although “Paper Tiger” marks his eighth film at the festival, Driver says that he still gets anxious. “I used to have a couple [of] drinks just to calm down. But I can’t go overboard because sometimes you come back and you don’t match the mood of a movie,” Driver admitted. “Sometimes people are crying, and you’re like, ‘Hey everybody!’”

Fortunately, Driver and the rest of the cast have received rave reviews for their performances, with one critic saying that the “65” actor delivered a “career-best performance” in the role.

James Gray Wrote This Part For Adam Driver

In the interview with Variety, Gray revealed that he had actually written this part with Driver specifically in mind. “I wrote this part for him,” Gray explained. “It’s very uncommon to find an actor who can convey vulnerability and danger. These are the two most valuable commodities for a director.”

“I can only think of one performance in the history of movies where there’s no danger, and it’s great,” he continued. “And that’s Jeff Bridges as the Dude in ‘Big Lebowski.’ Everything else has kind of an undercurrent of menace.”

Driver has worked with some acclaimed directors over the years, but he was especially excited to work with Gray. “He tells these really intimate stories where there’s always an amazing cinematic sequence,” Driver said. “But it’s always grounded in character.”

“If I don’t understand a part, then it’s hard to play it,” Driver explained. “And the biggest enemy on a film is time. We had official rehearsals, but whatever you can do in advance to drill down into the characters is so important, so then you don’t waste time on set having debates about everything.”

“I like the scale of those bigger movies, and I like the reach of them,” Driver said. “I more naturally gravitate towards smaller films. The rhythm is completely different. It’s a little faster. I don’t mind having to do something technical.”

“I feel like that was the only debate that we would have on set, James apologizing in advance for something complicated,” he continued. “And I’m like, ‘I understand there is an artificiality here. I’m aware that all of this is not real.’”

From creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, 9-1-1 follows the lives of various first responders in Los Angeles from firefighters to paramedics to dispatchers to police officers. The high-stakes procedural drama series stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Aisha Hinds, and Oliver Stark in layered and compelling roles. The show has demonstrated that it’s unlike any other throughout its eight seasons due to how it presents real-world disasters.

The 9-1-1 characters experience emergency after emergency with little time to recover, but the episode that really puts them to the test is Season 2, Episode 2, “7.1.” This entry features a major earthquake that affects the entire city. Whether you’re aware that Los Angeles is located near several fault lines or you follow a bunch of L.A. residents, you know that the city is prone to earthquakes. It not only showed how a city-wide emergency affects its citizens but the first responders as well. Along with being one of the most stressful 9-1-1 episodes to watch, the aftershocks went on to affect the rest of the series.

The ‘9-1-1’ Characters Put On a Brave Face During Major Catastrophes

An earthquake is a reminder that things aren’t as stable as they may seem. After establishing new characters, Maddie Buckley (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Edmundo “Eddie” Diaz (Ryan Guzman), in the 9-1-1 Season 2 premiere, they’re put through the wringer with this city-wide emergency. For Maddie, it’s her first day as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, and she has to separate major calls for help from minor ones to efficiently assist as many people as possible. This episode demonstrates the psychological toll a dispatcher experiences on a grand scale as she has to channel through different calls while worrying about the safety of her firefighter brother, Evan Buckley (Stark). Despite this, Maddie uses her quick thinking to assist more people by leading them towards the first responders who are already out in the field. This begins her character’s journey towards being one of the best dispatchers in the L.A. area.

As for Eddie, 9-1-1 Season 2, Episode 2 establishes that he has a young son, Christopher Diaz (Gavin McHugh), with cerebral palsy. When the earthquake hits, he worries about his son’s safety, but he puts those thoughts aside as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson (Hinds) mentions that, as a parent, she’d want a first responder to do everything they can to save her child. This is exactly what Eddie needs to hear to focus on saving lives as a firefighter. His time as an Army medic makes him one of the most experienced members of the L.A. Fire Department. Still, this reminder from Hen is the start of Eddie putting everything on the line as a first responder, especially for children. It also introduces one of the most important characters to Eddie’s life, one who also affects Buck and affects Eddie’s time when he leaves for Texas.

“7.1” Was the Beginning of ‘9-1-1’s Multi-Episode Disasters

The earthquake in this 9-1-1 episode not only shakes the city to its core, but the series as well. It’s the first episode to feature a multi-episode disaster as a way to emphasize that this isn’t an issue first responders can quickly solve. Not only does it provide the perspective of a first responder, but through Michael Grant (Rockmond Dunbar), May Grant (Corinne Massiah), and Harry Grant (Marcanthonee Jon Reis), “7.1” also shows what it’s like to be a family member of a first responder. The Grants worry if Athena Grant (Bassett) is safe as they watch the news while she’s unreachable, dealing with the emergency. The series focuses on the lives of real-life heroes, but this episode is strengthened by showing it from the perspective of the responders’ loved ones.

9-1-1 Season 2, Episode 2 created aftershocks that would inspire later seasons to continue featuring major disasters, from blackouts to tsunamis and even a tornado of bees. Season 9’s trip up to space wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for this episode that started it all. These episodes are some of the series’ best because they use the backdrop of a realistic emergency (ok, maybe not the bees or the space emergency) to further develop characters and feature meaningful stakes. The inclusion of these large-scale disasters allows the creative team, the cast, and the characters to challenge themselves and prove they can make it through anything thrown their way. It’s become an iconic part of the 9-1-1 franchise, one that was carried on to the cancelled spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star and will likely spread to 9-1-1: Nashville as well.

Akbar V Sets Social Media On Fire With Claims About Latto & 21 Savage

Recently, Akbar V chopped it up with fans during a livestream. While viewers watched, Akbar started going in on plenty of rappers and topics, including Latto and 21 Savage. In a now-viral clip, Akbar spilled tea about her status with Latto. She said she was cool with Big Mama at first, but things allegedly went left because of a mutual friend and because she “loved” Savage first. Akbar also said she was standing ten toes down for him because he was the first rapper to give her a feature.

“I loved Savage […] I did. Savage was the first n***a to give me a feature.” She continued, “That’s why you don’t see me saying nothing about Savage, because to this day, I love Savage.” 

Chile, that’s not all. Akbar then claimed Latto ignored her during a past run-in. She didn’t give an exact timeline of when that happened, but she said she didn’t think much of it at the time. From there, she accused the Atlanta femcee of allegedly stealing her Big Mama title. Akbar claims she’s been holding the title for years and even has an LLC named after it.

As of right now, neither Latto or 21 has reacted to Akbar’s claims. Latto has been giving fans a glimpse of her pregnancy and journey to motherhood.
