Death, taxes, and an endless stream of Sherlock Holmes adaptations — these are the realities of life. In the last couple of decades, fans have received Guy Ritchie’s swashbuckling film series starring Robert Downey Jr., his more recent Young Sherlock show on Prime Video, an Enola Holmes trilogy on Netflix, and the acclaimed modern-day reimagining starring Benedict Cumberbatch. There have been other adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary stories, but one movie often slips under the radar for several reasons. For starters, it was critically panned and commercially unsuccessful, but more importantly, audiences had simply too many alternatives to choose from. That said, the overlooked Sherlock Holmes adaptation is now available to stream for free to those who have the courage to check it out.
It was released in 2018, only three years after Mr. Holmes, in which Ian McKellen played an aging Sherlock who must solve his final case while combating a deteriorating mind. The acclaimed BBC series starring Cumberbatch had ended its run only a year earlier. In other words, the appetite for new Sherlock Holmes content was still alive. However, the 2018 movie ended up grossing $42 million worldwide against a reported budget in a similar range, proving that audiences weren’t going to turn up for every adaptation. It must be mentioned that this movie wasn’t a classic take on the material at all; in fact, it appeared to be presenting the character as if he exists in the world of Borat.

Here’s Where You Can Watch the Critically Panned Sherlock Holmes Movie for Free
We’re talking about Holmes & Watson, starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. The duo had previously proven their chemistry in cult hit comedy films such as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers. Holmes & Watson wasn’t able to continue the successful streak, earning a poor 10% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The aggregator website’s consensus reads, “The lowest and vilest alleys in London do not present a more dreadful record of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson than does Holmes and Watson.” The movie had quite a stacked cast, including Rebecca Hall, Rob Brydon, Bella Ramsey, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Laurie, and Steve Coogan. Joey King is addressing claims she underwent plastic surgery to prepare for her appearance at this year’s Met Gala back in May.
“I didn’t get a facelift,” King, 27, told Owen Thiele on the Friday, September 11, episode of his “In Your Dreams” podcast. “I’m glad we’re talking about this. … Just want to let you know, didn’t get work done, didn’t get a facelift.”
The Practical Magic 2 star went on to reveal what she actually did to get ready to walk the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the second year in a row.
“What I did do, I got a spray tan,” she recalled. “And then I did a 36-hour fast. No food, nothing but water, which I don’t promote that.”

King explained that she had attended a bachelorette party the weekend before the Met Gala, which resulted in her “looking swollen” because she was “drinking a lot.”
“I looked busted,” she continued. “And I was like, ‘I gotta do a reset. I’m going to do a 24-hour fast, which is good for you to do once a month if you’re healthy enough to do anyway. By the time I woke up and ordered lunch the next day, it wound up being 36 hours and everything.”
In addition to fasting, King said she got a “lymphatic massage” and a facial the day before fashion’s biggest night, followed by another face massage the day of the event.
“We were doing everything we could to look amazing on the carpet, and guess what, it worked because everybody thought I had plastic surgery,” she concluded.

King turned heads at this year’s Met Gala by wearing a sheer Miu Miu gown. She pulled off another stunning sheer look at the Practical Magic 2 premiere in London on August 26, making headlines for her floral gown with yellow Miu Miu undergarments.
King’s casting in Practical Magic 2 as Kylie Owens, the younger daughter of Sandra Bullock’s Sally Owens, has been met with backlash due to the Kissing Booth star replacing Rachel Evan Wood, who played the character in the 1998 original film. (Maisie Williams also replaced Alexandra Artrip as Antonia Owens, Sally’s older daughter.)
Days before Practical Magic 2’s premiere, Wood, 38, threw shade at the cast while praising King.
“I really appreciated Joey King reaching out to me because no one who worked on the original film did. She’s a sweetheart,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories on September 1.

Wood previously claimed in July 2025 that she was not “asked to come back” for the sequel despite offering her “services.” The film’s director, Susanne Bier, told THR that recasting was necessary to create a “certain age group.”
“In the story, they’re just, like, literally out of college, and with Joey and Maisie it just felt completely right,” she explained.

For all their accomplishments and the other acclaimed macabre titles released so far, like 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and Hokum, horror’s best year in a while also has an obvious standout — Obsession. Much has been made of YouTuber and Milk & Serial director Curry Barker‘s breakout hit, from its $512.6 million global box office haul, which makes it one of the most profitable movies ever made against its reported $750,000 budget, to its breakout performances from Michael Johnston and especially Inde Navarrette. The film has become nothing short of a cultural phenomenon, both proving how desirable an original IP from a creator outside Hollywood can be and inserting itself into awards conversations. Now that it’s officially available from home, it’s only continuing to dominate on streaming and VOD.
This week, Obsession pulled off a digital trifecta by reaching #1 on Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google VOD charts. Making the feat more impressive is the fact that it’s also available to stream on Peacock, yet it’s handily outperforming the titles directly behind it on each list, like Steven Spielberg‘s Disclosure Day and Antoine Fuqua‘s billion-dollar biopic, Michael. With spooky season just around the corner, there may only be more momentum coming for Barker’s smash hit as viewers look to catch up on the scariest films of the year. It certainly managed to frighten critics and audiences as it followed Bear (Johnston) experiencing the increasingly dark and horrific consequences of wishing his crush, Nikki (Navarrette) would love him more than anyone in the world.

‘Pluto’ (2023)

We’re talking about director Nimród Antal’s Armored. The movie follows a gang of robbers whose attempt to steal $42 million from an armored truck goes awry. Produced on a reported budget of $20 million, the film was only able to gross $23 million worldwide. It now sits at a 42% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “This B-grade thriller has a good cast and director but is undone by plot holes and messy conclusion.” The Heat comparisons feel warranted, but the movie should also appeal to fans of Guy Ritchie’s Wrath of Man, which revolves around a similar heist gone wrong. Interestingly, the film was shot by Andrzej Sekuła, who worked with Quentin Tarantino on Reservoir Dogs — another heist classic — and Pulp Fiction. The shakeup has also included significant cutoffs, leaving only a small team behind. However, Howard Stern appears to be looking forward rather than dwelling on the backlash.
Howard Stern Can’t Understand Why Listeners Are So Upset Over SiriusXM Shakeup
Stern has reportedly been paying close attention to the response surrounding the changes to his longtime radio show. However, sources claim he does not fully understand why fans and former employees are so frustrated.
According to a report, an insider said Stern “reads everything, EVERYTHING, and he wants to control what’s being reported.”

The source added that the broadcaster was “apoplectic” over the negative response to the removal of Howard 101 and the decision to cut his live schedule to one day each week.
For longtime listeners, the disappearance of Howard 101 represented another significant change. The channel had been dedicated largely to older Stern interviews and memorable segments. Howard 100 will remain his sole SiriusXM channel and continue carrying his current program.

The comedian has called bringing his program to HBO Max a “career highlight.” An insider also claimed he sees the agreement as a victory over critics who believed his broadcasting career was nearing its end.

In the opening scenes of Strange New Worlds, we see that Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) is still struggling with the revelations about his future and impending death that he learned about in Star Trek: Discovery. This is an essential aspect of his character, though that premonition doesn’t necessarily define him. Pike doesn’t magically “get over” his struggle either — instead, he works through his trauma, all the while learning that he’s not alone in suffering. Other members of the crew are also recovering from their personal pain. Security Chief La’an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong) grew up under the terror of the Gorn, lost her entire family to the aliens, and was tormented by those around her for being a descendant of the notorious genetic superman, Khan Noonien Singh. Cadet Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), a prodigy on her first Starfleet mission, has a similar story. She was slated to go to university when her parents and brother were all killed in a shuttle accident. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ ability to straddle the line between Old and New Trek is in keeping with the rest of the shows in the franchise. Star Trek: Deep Space Ninewas at its best in the latter seasons when the main arc was the Dominion War. The show perfectly encapsulated an umbrella storyline with episodic storytelling about the crew’s day-to-day lives and duties. This style of writing also influenced Star Trek: Enterprise, and many will argue that Enterprise’s multi-episode arcs were its most memorable. Even Star Trek: Voyager, which was as episodic as it gets, had the through-line of the crew attempting to return home — several of the episode plots were informed by this main mission.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is also able to balance the styles and tones of the two eras. The bright optimism and aura of kindness of the original are obvious in the production design and the character interactions. Though there’s darkness bubbling under the surface of several character arcs, the show doesn’t wallow in it. Pike doesn’t keep the horror of his future to himself; he shares it with his friends. Uhura tells the senior staff about her family’s demise and is accepted for it as well as encouraged to make the best choices for herself. The crew of this Enterprise is much more sheltered than those aboard Discovery or La Sirena, but they’re also living in an era when the Federation is at its most powerful.

The hallmark of the New Trek shows is that these series give the diverse cast plenty of screen time. Star Trek: The Original series was very much a Kirk (William Shatner), Spock (Leonard Nimoy), and “Bones” McCoy (DeForest Kelley) show. They were given the most screen time and characterization. Strange New Worlds also has a trio of familiar characters with Pike, young Spock (Ethan Peck), and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) taking the lead, but the show still takes the time to let the rest of the cast shine and grow. For a franchise that’s always attempted to be ahead of the curve in terms of representation, this is a welcome change.

What Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has achieved is creating a show that has married the classic style of Star Trek: The Original Series with the over-arching storytelling and sensibilities of the newer shows. The show allows for plenty of growth for its diverse cast, not just the three leads, and has a hopeful tone that’s been missing from the world and the franchise of late. While Star Trek: Strange New Worlds feels like Old Trek, it is still a product of New Trek, which makes it a unique and vital part of the franchise.
Jenelle Evans has found an interesting solution for an ex who leaves his problems behind.
The “Teen Mom” alum recently revealed how she handled David Eason’s abandoned vehicle after their relationship went sideways.
Jenelle Evans has spent years navigating a complicated relationship with David Eason, including marriage, separation, divorce, reconciliation rumors, and coparenting. The former couple co-parents their 9-year-old daughter, Ensley.
Evans recently shared a photo of a black SUV sitting inside her garage. She claimed the vehicle belonged to Eason, who had allegedly left it at her house after their relationship ended. Rather than waiting for him to retrieve it, Evans decided that the vehicle was no longer her responsibility.
Her message to anyone facing a similar situation was remarkably straightforward. “If your ex abandoned his vehicle at your house, get it towed,” Evans wrote. She added “#NotMyProblem” over the photo, making her feelings about the situation particularly clear.
On her Instagram story, Evans also appeared to reference another former partner, August Keen, asking, “August, is yours next?” with a laughing emoji. In a follow-up selfie, she celebrated that the situation was finally off her “to-do” list.
Evans made it clear that she no longer planned to keep accommodating someone else’s responsibilities. Another interesting part of her post was that it was set to the classic 2004 hit tune from rapper Jay-Z, “99 Problems.”
Eason’s vehicle situation was not exactly new territory for the former couple. Their divorce settlement had already assigned him responsibility for a BMW that became another point of disagreement.
Eason was awarded the BMW in their July 2025 divorce settlement. He was also ordered to take over any remaining car payments connected to the vehicle. Evans later filed for Eason to be held in contempt of court.

She claimed he had refused to pay debts he was legally responsible for after their split, including the BMW. The 38-year-old had previously addressed the issue on X, writing, “I’m not paying to ship a BMW [laughing emoji] that’s why he agreed to take it.”
She added that the arrangement was included in a legal court document and suggested that Eason follow the rules, as shared by US Magazine. Their relationship has remained complicated since their February 2024 separation after years of being on and off.

Evans and Eason welcomed their daughter Ensley in January 2017 before marrying eight months later. They eventually separated in February 2024 after nearly a decade of being on and off.
Their divorce was finalized in July 2025, but the former couple later sparked reconciliation rumors after being spotted together. Evans subsequently explained that their relationship was about coparenting rather than getting back together romantically.
In her TikTok video, the “Teem Mom 2” star acknowledged that fans were worried about her allowing Eason back into her life. She said things initially felt positive.

According to Evans, he was “very sweet and caring” and tried to hold her hand and touch her frequently. She later said the change happened within a month, when Eason developed an “attitude” and began “name-calling” when frustrated.
She said the behavior reminded her of what she had dealt with for nine years and made her recognize familiar red flags. Evans said the behavior reminded her of what she had experienced throughout their relationship. “That was the sh-t I was dealing with for nine years, and I refuse to still put up with it now,” she said.

Evans said her breaking point came after her ex allegedly made insulting comments toward Ensley before school. She claimed the comments continued in the car until she turned around to reassure their daughter that she was “beautiful, gorgeous and smart.” Evans then said she ordered Eason to leave her house.

According to her account, he turned the car around and returned before demanding that she take the children to school herself. She said she could barely walk or drive because she was in pain.
When they returned home, Evans alleged that Eason began packing his belongings, dumping out her purse and going through her things. She said she threatened to call the police because there was a no-contact order between them.
She claimed Eason immediately became scared and left, leaving his belongings behind. Evans said he still had not asked for them, which she described as strange.
The incident came during a difficult period for Evans, who had undergone knee surgery in April and was later diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome.

Evans said dealing with Eason’s behavior during that period made her feel like she was watching her past repeat itself. “I was seeing everything happen all over again before my f-cking eyes,” she said.

The MTV star focused on redefining her life since her divorce. That included a major physical transformation, but she has also described the period as an emotional reset focused on healing and rebuilding.
She underwent a full mommy makeover after three pregnancies and losing more than 15 pounds through diet and exercise. “I also thought it would be the best time because I got my tubes tied and I’m not having any more kids,” Evans said.
The procedure included a tummy tuck to repair diastasis recti and the removal and replacement of her saline breast implants. The Las Vegas resident had the procedure done with Dr. Rachel Mason. In 2025, The Blast revealed that Evans viewed her divorce as a “reset button” and chose the makeover as part of entering a new chapter.
She said she wanted to move away from the “fear, chaos, anxiety” of her previous life and create more “peace” and “safety” for herself and her children. The physical recovery was difficult, especially during the first two weeks, but Evans said she did not regret her decision.

What Is ‘The Stunt Driver’ About?
The Stunt Driver is set in the mid-70s and recounts the true and incredible underdog story of Canada’s Ken Carter, the world champion stunt driver, who battles personal demons and public doubt to attempt what everyone considers impossible — a mile-long jump across the St. Lawrence River in a rocket-powered car. The movie also stars Ed Helms (The Office) as Dick Keller, the car’s designer and technician, and Ben Foster, as Evel Knievel. In the vein of Free Solo or Fitzcarraldo, this is an underdog story about one man’s singular blinding passion to complete the impossible, to finish what he started. What’s both funny and tragic is that his mile-long jump, to anyone with two eyes, is completely impossible.
