Ellen DeGeneres Reacts to Death of Kris Jenner’s Mom MJ
Ellen DeGeneres is expressing her sympathy for her friend, Kris Jenner, as she mourns the loss of her mother.
Posting via her Instagram on Friday, July 17, DeGeneres shared condolences to Jenner from herself and her wife, Portia de Rossi, after hearing the news of Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon’s death.
“Portia and I know how much you loved your mother and what a special force she was in your life and your entire family‘s life,” DeGeneres, 68, wrote alongside a photo of Jenner and MJ. “I can’t imagine the grief that you’re feeling right now. We’re sending you our love. @krisjenner.”
Jenner’s daughters, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, responded to the tribute in the comments section.
“Awww that’s so sweet ❤️❤️,” wrote Kourtney, 47, while Khloe, 42, gushed, “You are the sweetest!!! You’re such a great friend to my mommy ❤️❤️.”
Sharing a lengthy tribute via her Instagram account on Thursday, July 16, Jenner announced her mother had died just two weeks before her 92nd birthday.
“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. 😞💔,” Jenner wrote. “There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters … to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted. She taught us that family is everything.”
The Kardashians star added, “She showed us how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments. She showed me how to face life’s challenges with resilience and faith. Mom, thank you for every sacrifice you made, every piece of wisdom you shared, and every moment you loved us so completely. I will miss our daily talks, your smile, your laughter. Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us. Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touched.”
Kim Kardashian paid tribute to MJ later the same day on her own Instagram account, affectionately describing her late grandmother as her “best friend, [her] gossip buddy [and her] forever twin.”
“You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!! You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman,” Kim, 45, wrote.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Sci-Fi Hit Refuses to Leave Apple TV’s Top 10
Even though she has worked far and wide in movies of all shapes and sizes, Anya Taylor-Joy seems to have a special bond with Apple TV. Her latest project, the limited series Lucky, has remained at the top of the streamer’s viewership charts ever since its debut on July 15. Meanwhile, a genre-bending movie she starred in with Miles Teller has passed a monumental milestone of its own. The movie was released as an Apple TV original in 2025, and was primarily positioned as a Valentine’s Day offering. While it featured plenty of romance, it also dabbled in sci-fi, action, thriller, horror, and other genres.
The movie was directed by Scott Derrickson, best known for the horror hits The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Black Phone, and the superhero movie Doctor Strange. The narrative revolved around two characters who are stationed in observation towers on opposite sides of a gorge and tasked with ensuring that its mysteries remain hidden. The movie also featured Sigourney Weaver in a supporting role whose brevity was similar to that of the one she played in The Mandalorian & Grogu recently. While Apple TV has released several popular movies in the last year — F1, Fountain of Youth, and The Family Plan 2 — Taylor-Joy and Teller’s blockbuster remains at the top of the streamer’s charts.
Anya Taylor-Joy Is Having a Major Year
We’re talking, of course, about The Gorge. According to FlixPatrol, the movie has spent more than 500 days on Apple TV’s domestic viewership leaderboard, which it continues to dominate even now. The Gorge received mixed reviews and is now sitting at a 62% critics’ score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Mixing multiple genres, The Gorge makes for a surprisingly endearing romance until its action-thriller obligations steer proceedings back onto a more predictable path.” The film’s audience score of 74%, however, partially explains why it has been so popular with viewers. Taylor-Joy has already had a theatrical hit this year (The Super Mario Galaxy Movie), and she has another sure-fire hit (Dune: Part Three) lined up for release in December. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Peacock’s 4-Hour Revenge Thriller Is the Perfect Weekend Binge
That Quentin Tarantino guy sure has made some great movies, albeit not many recently, since Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came out in 2019, and at the time of writing, that’s his most recent effort. He has maintained an intention to direct 10 movies and then move on from directing, so there’s probably just all this pressure to do something special for film #10. If you wanted to be devious, you could say Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 are his fourth and fifth movies, respectively, which would’ve made Once Upon a Time in Hollywood film #10. But Kill Bill was made as one massive movie that got divided into two, with one volume coming out in 2003, and the second volume coming out in 2004.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair had been screened in 2004, at Cannes, and then there had been very limited screenings at Tarantino’s own New Beverly Cinema for little one-off events, but 2025 was the first time most people got to see the film as a single experience. So, with The Whole Bloody Affair widely available, it’s now accessible as the fourth Quentin Tarantino movie, and so it’s harder to argue he already did his 10th, with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. After the theatrical run, Peacock is now the best place to watch and experience Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, and fully appreciate it as one of the absolute greatest revenge thrillers of all time.
The Story of ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’
Discussing Kill Bill, the easiest part is always breaking down what it’s about. Revenge. That’s it. Okay, not completely “that’s it,” but that is the main premise, that is what the main character is after almost the whole time, and that is what drives the whole movie. There are parts in the second half of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (or parts of Vol. 2) that complicate the whole quest for revenge, to some extent, or make certain kills harder to carry out for The Bride (Uma Thurman) than others, but it is still an A to B sort of thing, ending with Bill (David Carradine) ideally killed. So The Bride hopes.
She escaped her life as an assassin before the events of the main story, and then, when Bill and the other members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad find out where she ran off to, they track her down and try to kill her. They also wipe out people she’d met, and did it all during a wedding rehearsal… hence her being known, for much of the film, as “The Bride.” She doesn’t die, and then, years on from almost dying, tracks all the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad members down, one by one, making them pay. It’s a simple story, but Tarantino definitely has a lot of fun with how it’s carried out and executed, in terms of style and genre(s).
Why ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ is the Ultimate Revenge Epic
Revenge, as a theme, has driven all sorts of movies, and you see it quite a lot in films that have quite a bit of action and/or life-or-death stakes. So, there are lots of martial arts movies about revenge, plenty of revenge-themed samurai films, and then vengeance and justice are themes that are intrinsic to a good many Westerns. Looking at it that way, within cinema history, it makes sense why Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair pays homage to a variety of films from various genres. Martial arts is something it leans into throughout, while the first half of the epic is also indebted to samurai and yakuza films, and then there is more of a spaghetti Western feel to much of the second half.
If you like the sorts of movies Tarantino likes, you’ll probably be in some kind of cinematic heaven here.
Quentin Tarantino has never been shy about celebrating and paying tribute to movies he really loves, and you see him doing so in a more heightened way than ever in Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. If you like the sorts of movies Tarantino likes, you’ll probably be in some kind of cinematic heaven here. You can watch Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, then keep digesting other older movies, all before coming back to Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, maybe a few years later, and you’ll be able to notice more of those references, and better piece together its DNA. The love for genre – and sometimes B-grade – cinema here is undeniable, and for Tarantino to do it with A-grade technical qualities, acting, cinematography, and writing is a real treat.
How ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ Differs From ‘Vol. 1’ and ‘Vol. 2’
There might not be a ton new in Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, if you’ve seen and enjoyed Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 before. If anything, you might find there’s a bit less. The ending of Vol. 1 is altered so that it doesn’t have a cliffhanger, which makes a certain scene in Vol. 2 technically more of a reveal. There’s a recap at the start of Vol. 2 that’s also gone from The Whole Bloody Affair. Some violent sequences that were in Vol. 1 are bloodier and more intense in The Whole Bloody Affair, and you get a brief intermission between the two halves, rather than an end credits sequence for Vol. 1.
It would probably be easiest to recommend this complete version to someone who’s never seen either Kill Bill before. But if you have seen those movies before, and want to see one done the way Tarantino preferred, you can treat The Whole Bloody Affair like a director’s cut. You’re not going to have an entirely new experience, but you’ll probably find it interesting. And, either way, the events of Kill Bill – be they divided into two volumes or made into one whole bloody affair – are great, and endlessly cinematic. It’s easy to binge this approximately four-hour-long epic, and it really does remain one of the very best things Quentin Tarantino has ever directed.

Anne Hathaway’s Breathable Summer Dress Style Is a Staple
Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!
Not everyone deserves the title of ‘style icon,’ but we’d argue it’s one of the best ways to describe Anne Hathaway (aside from, you know, being an amazing actress). The 43-year-old has been rocking the outfits of our dreams — both on screen and off — since at least 2001, and judging from her latest press tour looks for The Odyssey, she won’t be stopping anytime soon. Even Hathaway’s more casual ensembles are pretty enviable, and while many of Us might not have a baby bump to dress, we’re still drooling over the breezy sundress she wore while out in New York City.
For an appearance on the Today show, Hathaway’s stylist, Erin Walsh, made sure the brunette beauty was cool and comfy in a teal Alaïa halter dress. As one might expect, the high-end piece costs a pretty penny (over $3,000), but the style is extremely flattering — even for those who aren’t pregnant — since it floats over the belly and neither highlights nor constricts the midsection.
Thankfully, those who are lusting after the look aren’t out of luck. We found an Amazon alternative with a similar design and easy, summery vibe, but at $39, it’s a bit more budget-friendly than the OG.
Get the AmySister Casual Halter Tiered Maxi Dress for $39 at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.
The AmySister Casual Halter Tiered Maxi Dress is a worthy warm-weather investment, working for everything from backyard hangs to fancy weddings and even weekend errand runs. While it doesn’t come in teal, it is available in a beachy blue shade (another color Hathaway just wore on the red carpet!), as well as green, pistachio, bright pink and more. The ruched halter neckline channels Hathaway’s luxury look, and the cotton fabric makes the pick extra breathable in the heat.
The Amazon find also features a tiered skirt for a breezy, billowy silhouette — this one won’t cling when temperatures rise and won’t show off your tummy. A back tie keeps everything secure (and easily hides a bra band) while pockets are a convenient detail. Add in the fact that the AmySister dress is machine washable, and it’s easy to see why hundreds of shoppers scooped it up in the past month.
“Wore this for my birthday and loved it so much!” one reviewer wrote. “I love how you can tie the top as tight/loose as you want so it’s a fit-everybody dress. So flattering and I got so many compliments on it. I also LOVE that it has pockets. It was the perfect style, length and quality for the price. Not see-through at all and lightweight!”
Plus, while one 5’3″ customer noted the maxi is “especially great for petites,” another who is 6.0″ said the style is “flawless,” rating it “10/10.” Even those who, like Hathaway, were dressing a baby bump found that this pick worked for them.
“LOVE,” said a happy shopper. “So comfy and cute even at 25 weeks pregnant. Got my normal size.”
Whether you’re pregnant or not, going somewhere fancy or keeping it casual, this halter dress is a stylish, summer-friendly option you’ll reach for on repeat. Take a tip from Hathaway and add the style to your cart today!

How Netflix’s InterPositive Deal Transformed Ben Affleck’s Net Worth
Actor Ben Affleck’s net worth has taken a massive leap following the blockbuster sale of his stealth AI startup, InterPositive, to streaming giant Netflix. The recent regulatory filing revealing a $587 million purchase price has officially rewritten the actor-director’s financial trajectory, transforming him from an A-list movie star into a top-tier tech founder. Prior to the landmark March 2026 acquisition, industry trackers valued Affleck’s wealth around $150 million to $200 million. Now, liquidating his stake in one of Netflix’s largest acquisitions to date has comfortably catapulted his net worth past the $300 million mark, setting a new blueprint for celebrity wealth in the digital age.

Although he is best known for his movies, Affleck significantly increased his net worth after selling his AI startup, InterPositive, to Netflix. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the actor’s net worth is estimated to be around $300 million. That’s a big jump compared to his frequent collaborator Matt Damon, whose net worth is only estimated to be around $170 million.
So where did that large number come from? Over the decades, the actor has earned hundreds of millions of dollars in film salaries and backend bonuses. In addition to his roles in front of the camera, he has earned millions as a director and producer. However, it’s the March 2026 sale of his stealth AI filmmaking company, InterPositive, to Netflix that has really boosted his net worth.
Inside The Sale To Netflix and How Much The Streamer Paid

On Friday, July 17, the streamer disclosed that it paid $587 million for InterPositive in cash. The disclosure was released in the company’s Form 10-Q. The filing states, “In March 2026, the Company completed an acquisition which was accounted for as a business combination for a total purchase price of approximately $587 million, consisting of cash consideration,” as published in The Hollywood Reporter.
Although the filing didn’t name InterPositive, Netflix announced the deal on March 5. Even though the sale is relatively recent, InterPositive is not a new company. It was created in 2022 and began exploring the AI space, with an emphasis on altering a production’s visual effects without inhibiting the creative aspects of filmmaking.
Ben Affleck Talks About His ‘Responsibility’ To ‘Human Creativity’

In a post at the time, Affleck explained that he had a “responsibility” to protect human creatives and discussed his “commitment” to the next stage of technology following his company’s sale to Netflix.
“I knew I had a responsibility to my peers and our industry, to protect the power of human creativity and the people behind it,” he said at the time. “In creating InterPositive, I sought to do just that.”
“From the invention of the moving image to the transition to digital, from motion capture to virtual production, technology has evolved alongside the artists who use it,” he continued. “Our shared commitment to continuing this legacy makes joining together a natural next step, in addition to Netflix’s decades of experience applying and scaling technology responsibly.”
Affleck went on to explain how the company’s first model was “trained to understand visual logic and editorial consistency, while preserving cinematic rules under real-world production challenges such as missing shots, background replacements or incorrect lighting.”
Netflix Co-CEO Explains How His Company Uses AI In Post-Production

On a company earnings call earlier this week, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos claimed that about 300 productions currently use AI. Of these 300 productions, most use artificial intelligence in post-production.
“Gen AI is scaling quickly across the entire creative process, from concept to pre-vis through post and delivery,” Sarandos said, per THR. “We’re making higher quality output more quickly and efficiently than we could have using traditional methods. So gen AI workflows now have been used in roughly 300 of our titles with the largest concentration right to date is on post-production. But we’re leveraging gen AI for really complicated shots and sequences.”
He went on to cite the doc “The American Experiment” as an example, claiming that it had 17 minutes of “AI-enhanced” footage. “It enabled us to expand the scope of the series in ways that just wouldn’t have been feasible before,” he said. “Those 17 minutes… they were produced twice as fast and at half the cost of previous options.”

Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan Postpone Concert Amid Storms
Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan are delaying their co-headlining concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
“We’ve been, kind of, sat with our teams and the promoters and the meteorologists all morning,” Horan, 32, began an Instagram video shared Saturday, July 18. “It feels like there’s a lot of severe weather in the area and some bad weather conditions and thunderstorms threatening the show. So, we have been, kind of, forced into a corner and we will have to reschedule.”
Rhett, 36, and Horan were scheduled to perform at Hersheypark Stadium on Saturday. Instead, and under advisement, the two musicians will take the stage on Sunday, July 19.
“[It’s] something we didn’t want to do, but we do want to stay in town and a show for you guys,” the One Direction alum stated on Saturday. “If you have a ticket, you can come tomorrow. If you can’t make the show tomorrow night, you will get a full refund for your ticket.”
He continued, “We’re obviously said to have to do this, but this is what we’re gonna have to do.”
Rhett, for his part, noted that the fans’ well-being is paramount.
“We love y’all, and y’all’s safety is first and foremost our biggest concern,” the “Life Changes” singer added in the Saturday upload. “We want to give y’all the show that we have prepared. We just couldn’t guarantee that for tonight.”
Rhett added, “So, it’s a miracle that the venue’s available tomorrow, that me and Niall are both here tomorrow and so we’ll see you guys tomorrow night, ready to freaking rock. We love y’all so much.”
The two singers co-headlined a show in Nashville earlier this month.
“What in the world. Nashville, I had the time of my life with y’all!” Rhett wrote via Instagram on July 10. “Should we do it again @niallhoran?”
During the show, Rhett and Horan each performed their biggest hits before teaming up for a rendition of their “Old Tricks” duet. In addition, the country singer honored his growing family of seven during the gig with a sweet “Life Changes” lyric swap. (Rhett and wife Lauren Akins are parents of five.)
“I remember the day I told my Daddy and Mama, ‘You’re gonna have a grandkid, yep/ from Uganda, that’s right, we’re adopting / And she is the cutest little girl that you ever seen,’” he sang. “Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad / A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had / Now there’s Willa and sweet Ada James, and there’s Lennon and there’s Lillie / And baby boy Brave.”
Parents of four daughters, Rhett’s wife gave birth to their first son in February.

Justin Bieber Cameos at Fanatics Fest, Performs Shirtless
Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance at Fanatics Fest 2026 — and didn’t need a shirt for the special occasion.
The singer, 32, took the stage inside the Javits Center in New York City on Saturday, July 18, performing for those attending the sports fan festival that aims to bring together the biggest athletes, leagues, collectors, brands and fans for a multi-day celebration of both sports and culture.
Bieber ditched his shirt during the performance, showing off his massive tattoo collection. To complete his ensemble, he wore a pair of white checkered shorts, a yellow baseball hat and a pair of sunglasses.
After performing “Yukon” for fans, the singer hit the basketball court to show off his hooping skills before hitting around a hockey puck and playing some golf.
Bieber has been making more public appearances as of late in the wake of his 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival performances and the release of his latest album — SWAG LIFE FROM COACHELLA (WEEKEND2).

Last month, the singer also made a surprise appearance at the 2026 NHL Draft, held at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, to help announce the first overall pick. (For the uninitiated, Bieber is an avid hockey fan and lifelong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leaves, who had the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.)
As expected, Justin announced that Toronto had selected Penn State alum Gavin McKenna.
“What an incredible night,” Bieber said from the draft floor. “The child in me is ecstatic right now. I’ve been a Leafs fan since I was just a little boy. These nights are so special. I’m so grateful to be here.”
As promised, Fanatics Fest 2026 has been one for the record books — and isn’t without controversy. After now-viral footage showed NFL legend Tom Brady hitting social media influencer and WWE star Logan Paul across the face during a joining appearance at the NYC convention, Paul, 31, took to social media to issue a warning of sorts to the former quarterback.
“I’m suing @tombrady,” Paul claimed via Instagram on Friday, July 17, alongside footage of the alleged altercation.
During their joining appearance, Paul chastised the NFL commentator, 48, telling him that as the “goat” he “should be doing dope s***.”
“You weren’t,” he added. “I’m a Youtuber … so what?”
The WWE star then threatened to “hurt” Brady if he returned to the convention next year, prompting the NFL icon to fire back with an open-handed slap.
“Mad bc I smoked him in,” Paul wrote over footage of the incident via his Instagram Stories later on Friday. “Blocked [with] a torn tricep.”

90 Day’s Armando Reunites With Kenny, Hannah at Hospital
90 Day Fiancé alum Armando Niedermeier-Rubio has successfully secured a visa and since reunited with his 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, amid her hospitalization in Arizona.
Armando, 37, arrived in the United States from Mexico on Friday, July 17, where he was seen greeting husband Kenny Niedermeier outside the medical facility, per footage obtained by TMZ. The outlet also reported that Armando surprised Hannah later that day.
Kenny, 63, told TMZ that his stepdaughter, whom Armando shared with his late wife, had no idea that her dad would eventually make it to her bedside.
“In the video she was in shock after seeing her father and she kept asking if it was real,” Kenny said of the father-daughter pair’s reunion. “She seems to even be improving more since his arrival.”
Armando revealed via Instagram on Tuesday, July 14, that his daughter’s condition rapidly deteriorated after she unexpectedly suffered a brain bleed. The teenager was subsequently transported from their small town in Mexico to Arizona for treatment.
Armando, however, was not able to accompany his daughter due to lingering visa issues. (Kenny had been present at Hannah’s bedside after traveling from Ohio, where he attended a funeral earlier this month.)
“I went to the border. The hospital directly sensed the gravity of the situation, how Hannah was being airlifted to Phoenix ICU,” Armando said in a Thursday, July 16, social media update. “They sent all the necessary documents to the border. When I arrived at the border, I arrived with my documents as well. Never was the letter from the hospital reviewed and never were any of my documents asked of me — nothing was checked. I was just told, ‘Nope, we do not do this here. … There’s no option for you,’ and on my way I went.”
Armando’s mom and sister, meanwhile, were able to travel to the United States with Hannah because they are “legal residents” of the country.
As Armando worked with an immigration attorney to secure an emergency visa, he also opened up to fans about the harrowing medical situation.
“I don’t want to lose her,” he tearfully said in a follow-up Instagram video shared on Thursday. “Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, guys. Thank you all that supported [us] … All the love that’s coming our way. I can’t thank any of you enough. You guys all have been angels through this. You made it a little easier even though I can’t be with her. Love you all, guys!”
Armando and Kenny’s romance began on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2, when Kenny relocated to Mexico from Florida. The pair tied the knot in 2021.

Hannah Waddingham Makes Rare Comments About Her Daughter
Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham admitted that she feels guilty “all the time” when she has to temporarily leave her 12-year-old daughter for acting jobs.
“I’m about to go away to do press for the next season of Ted [Lasso], and the mummy guilt descends,” Waddingham, 51, told The Guardian in an interview published on Saturday, July 18. “But I have to try and combat it.”
Waddingham welcomed daughter Kitty with Italian hotel manager Gianluca Cugnetto in 2014, though the former couple split in 2022.
The Emmy winner revealed that she was “eight months pregnant” with Kitty when she was offered her international breakthrough role on Game of Thrones as the vengeful Septa Unella. While the actress considered turning down the job, she realized that it would be a mistake to pass up a “juggernaut” like Game of Thrones.
Still, Waddingham recalled feeling intense guilt about being away from newborn Kitty when it came time to film her role on the HBO series.
“[One part of me] just thought, ‘Oh my God, what am I doing?’” she said. “The other part was going, I’ve got terrible separation anxiety. So when I watch it back, I just see a woman who doesn’t know whether she’s coming or going.”
Now, Waddingham tries to keep something from her daughter close when she’s away working — including bringing a cardboard purse designed by Kitty to the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards (now known as The Actor Awards).
“I picked it up and went, ‘It’s actually got more space in it than a normal, designer, ridiculous handbag, so I’m going to take it up the red carpet,’” she said. “I did it on purpose, to show her that she’s never far away from me.”
With her daughter entering her teenage years, Waddingham has contemplated taking an extended role on the stage. (The British actress has been nominated three times at the Laurence Olivier Awards but she hasn’t worked on the stage since a 2015 London production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying due to the rigorous demands of theater.)
“I don’t think my daughter is ready,” she admitted, adding, “I need to find the time to be able to go, ‘I’m taking this coat off for now and I’m putting my theatre coat back on.’”
For now, Waddingham is reprising her role as soccer team owner Rebecca Welton in the long-awaited fourth season of Ted Lasso, which premieres on Apple TV+ in August.
She also has two major movies in the works — an animated adaptation of Paul McCartney, Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh’s novel High in the Clouds and the surreal action-comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike.

Matty Healy Is Married to Fiancee Gabbriette Bechtel
Matty Healy is a married man as he and his fiancée, Gabbriette Bechtel, have reportedly tied the knot.
JustJared and Extra published photos on Saturday, July 18, of Healy, 37, exchanging rings with Bechtel, 28, at Madonna‘s former Hollywood Hills mansion Castillo del Lago, which was immortalized in the classic 1963 horror movie House of the Damned. (Madonna owned the historic home from 1993 to 1997.)
The musician looked sharp in a black tuxedo while Bechtel opted for a traditional white gown and long veil. Photos showed Healy dipping Bechtel for a romantic kiss after they exchanged vows.
Per JustJared, the celebrity guest list included Charli XCX and her husband, Healy’s The 1975 bandmate George Daniel, influencers Anastasia Karanikolaou and Devon Lee Carlson, and model Quenlin Blackwell.
Us Weekly has reached out to Bechtel’s spokesperson for comment.
The reported nuptials followed just two weeks after Healy’s ex, Taylor Swift, tied the knot with NFL star Travis Kelce in a star-studded ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3. (Another of Healy’s ex-girlfriends, Gabriella Brooks, attended Swift and Kelce’s wedding with fiancé Liam Hemsworth.)
The 1975 frontman and the model went public with their relationship in September 2023. At the time, the couple were spotted kissing while out in New York City.
In May 2024, Bechtel shared a rare glimpse into her romance with Healy, explaining the roots of their connection.
“I think that we just both enjoy good food, honestly,” she told E! News at the time. “He’s taught me a lot about food.”
Bechtel added that the pair “have the same taste in music” and offered some insight into their typical date night.
“The last thing I did was a really good kale salad with pine nuts,” she said of a meal she had recently cooked for Healy. “Parmesan, sexy little skirt steak and I did potato gratin.”
The following month, Bechtel and Healy sparked engagement rumors when she posted a series of Instagram Story photos showing off a large black diamond ring on her left hand.
“MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” Bechtel captioned one of the pictures, referencing Charli XCX’s Brat album. (Charli got engaged to The 1975’s drummer, Daniel, in November 2023, and Bechtel’s photos appeared to be taken during Charli’s Brooklyn concert.)
Although Healy did not comment on the speculation at the time, he reposted Bechtel’s Instagram Story.
Healy’s mother, Denise Welch, ultimately confirmed the engagement during a June 2024 episode of ITV’s Loose Women.
“I woke up this morning to the fact that they put it on Instagram,” she said. “Instagram official! He’s got engaged to Gabriella Bechtel, Gabbriette she’s known as.”
Welch noted that Healy procured a custom-made “black diamond” ring for Bechtel.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled,” she continued. “She’s from Los Angeles, she’s absolutely gorgeous. She does have a [pet] rat. … Anyway, we couldn’t be happier. She is everything that I would want in a daughter-in-law, and so I’m thrilled.”
In July 2024, Bechtel hinted at her plans to start a family with Healy in the future.
“When I have kids, it’s going to be: dinner every night — no phones — to celebrate the smaller things and recognize people’s happiness,” she told British Vogue at the time.
Bechtel also gushed over Healy after receiving a phone call from him during her interview.
“I love being in love,” she raved. “When I thought that I was in love before it was just me being a person of service to somebody else.”
Prior to his relationship with Bechtel, Healy made headlines for his whirlwind romance with Swift in 2023. He was also previously linked to Halsey in 2015, Brooks from 2015 to 2019 and FKA Twigs from 2020 to 2022.
