The Jason Statham Hit That Grossed Over 2x Its Budget Demolishes Streaming Competition

Published

on

Jason Statham in a black hoodie on the red carpet

With his longtime creative collaborator, director Guy Ritchie, going through a difficult period at the box office, Jason Statham will need to rely on every last ounce of his star power for their next film together, Viva La Madness. Ritchie and Statham remain major draws on streaming, both together and individually. But the filmmaker hasn’t made a hit since Wrath of Man, which was released in 2021 and marked his long-awaited reunion with Statham. The two started out together in the late 1990s with the generation-defining gangster movie Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. They worked together again on Snatch and Revolver, and charted independent paths in Hollywood over the next 15 years. After reuniting with Ritchie on Wrath of Man, Statham delivered two back-to-back hits directed by David Ayer.

Both those films and Wrath of Man have become fixtures on global streaming charts. One of them witnessed a viewership bump again recently, two years after its release. Statham’s first film with Ayer was the unexpected blockbuster The Beekeeper, which grossed more than $160 million worldwide in 2023. The action star is set to return early next year with The Beekeeper 2, directed by Timo Tjahjanto. The year 2027 will likely also see the release of Viva La Madness. It’s a high-stakes venture for both Statham and Ritchie, given the underwhelming commercial performances of their latest theatrical releases — Shelter and In the Grey.

You’re dropped into a dangerous situation with no warning. What do you need most from a partner?
The first few seconds tell you everything about who belongs beside you.

02

You have to get somewhere dangerous, fast. How do you travel?
How you get there is half the mission.

03

You’re pinned down and outnumbered. What does your ideal partner do?
This is when you find out what someone is really made of.

04

The mission is paused. You have one evening to decompress. What does your partner suggest?
Who someone is when the pressure drops is who they actually are.

05

How do you prefer your partner to communicate mid-mission?
Good communication is the difference between partners and a liability.

06

Your enemy is powerful, well-resourced, and has the upper hand. How should your partner approach them?
The approach to the enemy defines the partnership.

10

It’s the final moment. Everything is on the line. What do you need from your partner right now?
The last question is the most honest one.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Jason Statham and David Ayer Are Reuniting for a Third Time

Statham’s second successive action movie with Ayer was A Working Man. The movie grossed more than $98 million worldwide against a reported budget of $40 million. It received mixed reviews and is now sitting at a 47% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it’s the film’s “Verified Hot” 87% audience score on the aggregator website that seems to be powering it to home-video success. According to FlixPatrol, A Working Man was among the most-watched movies globally on HBO Max this week. There has been no word yet on a possible sequel, but Statham and Ayer are set to work together for the third time on an action-thriller titled John Doe. Ayer is currently gearing up for the release of his big-ticket survival thriller Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt.

Kristin Chenoweth’s Exact Lip Gloss for a Lustrous Pout Is Just $24

Kristin Chenoweth's Exact Lip Gloss for a Lustrous Pout Is Just $24

Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. We receive compensation when you click on a link and make a purchase. Learn more!

Kristin Chenoweth is all about the glitz and glamour when it comes to her hair and makeup on stage. But in her everyday life, the Broadway actress likes a more subdued (yet girly) look — one that’s easy to replicate with the right makeup tools.

She gave a sneak peek into her everyday makeup routine in a Get Ready With Me video, and we instantly zoomed in when she pulled out a Stila lip gloss that gave her an unbelievable shine. It swiped on so effortlessly and gave her lip combo the final touch that totally completed the look. We found the exact product on Amazon at a price that’s so in our budget.

Get the Stila Plumping Lip Glaze for $24 at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.

The Stila Plumping Lip Glaze has a way of giving you a hydrated, sparkly finish that will naturally draw all the eyes right to your pout. Chenoweth applied a lip pencil, lipstick and lip plumper, but couldn’t head out the door without putting on the Stila Plumping Lip Glaze. “I love lip stuff. I’m really good at that,” the actress said in the video. And her reaction after applying it? Priceless. “Hmm, hold up,” she commented.

Made with moisturizing ingredients that subtly plump the lip, this popular Stila pick provides a nice shine, makes lips feel super soft and gives them a little pout that still looks natural. You’ll know it’s working once you feel a slight tingle, but that sensation should subside after a few minutes.

The easy-to-use applicator is great for on-the-go use. Just twist the bottom and product will appear slowly at the top. And unlike other lip glosses that require the use of both hands — one to hold the tube and the other for the doe applicator — the Stila lip gloss only needs one. The lip brush makes the whole ordeal painless, so you can apply while walking to your date or hopping on the subway.

Shop the Stila glaze in tons of cute, shimmery options, including brown sugar, honey and chestnut, however, we’re more inclined to follow in Chenoweth’s footsteps. She swiped on the light and almost ethereal-like kitten shade for her daytime look, convincing Us to do the same.

The Wicked star isn’t the only one who loves it. Amazon shoppers are big fans with some claiming it “delivers both shine and comfort,” which are both huge selling points. “It goes on smoothly and gives lips a fuller, more polished look without feeling sticky,” the reviewer wrote. “I also love how hydrating it feels, keeping lips soft and glossy.”

Another person who called the gloss the “GOAT” wrote, “I fell in love with this click-style gloss a million years ago and I think about this lip-click gloss all the time.” They even said the “fullness that it gives your lips is remarkable.”

The fact that the Stila Plumping Lip Glaze has star-approval, long-lasting staying power and is only $24 is pretty remarkable. We’re snapping up the lip gloss on Amazon before everyone else gets wind.

Jill Biden Says Husband Joe Biden Reconciled With Nancy Pelosi at Tatiana Schlossberg's Funeral

U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, could face potential hit-and-run charges after an alleged incident in Northern California.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News that a vehicle faced damage in Yountville, California, with a witness saying that “after crashing into the parked car, the driver briefly stopped then drove away.”

“The witness provided deputies with the direction the suspect vehicle was last seen traveling,” a press release read. “A short time later, deputies observed a [California Highway Patrol] vehicle parked behind a brown convertible car, which was partially blocking the roadway.”

Officers identified the driver as Paul, 86, with the sheriff noting that the car had “significant damage” to the front right. This was “consistent with the recent crash,” the sheriff added.

Jill Biden revealed that husband Joe Biden and longtime colleague Nancy Pelosi worked out their differences stemming from the 2024 election while attending Tatiana Schlossberg‘s funeral. The former first lady, 74, said in a Tuesday, June 2, interview with the Wall Street Journal that the former president, 82, went to shake Pelosi’s hand while in […]

“Pelosi admitted to hitting something, but said he did not know what he had hit, so he kept driving,” the press release said. “He drove until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving.”

A preliminary alcohol test found no alcohol in Paul’s system after the Friday, July 3, incident and Paul was not arrested. The sheriff’s Office is referring the case to the Napa District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.

A spokesperson for the Pelosi family spoke out about the incident in a statement.

“Mr. Paul Pelosi has personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle and assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle,” a statement read to NBC News. “Speaker Pelosi will not be commenting further on this private matter.”

Us Weekly reached out to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office and a spokesperson for the Pelosi family for comment.

Years prior to his recent alleged incident, Paul was previously arrested in 2022. At the time, Paul crashed his car into another vehicle on Highway 29, the California Highway Patrol’s Napa office claimed. Paul pleaded guilty to DUI at the time. He was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation, KTVU reported.

Paul and Nancy, also 86, have been married since 1963. The couple share daughters Jacqueline Pelosi, Christine Pelosi, Nancy Corinne Prowda, Alexandra Pelosi and son Paul Pelosi Jr.

Nancy served as the 52nd Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023. She is currently serving as a U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of California.

Cindy Crawford and her daughter, Kaia Gerber, turned Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding into their own personal runway.

Crawford, 60, stunned in a one-shoulder black gown and styled her hair down in loose waves while attending the star-studded Friday, July 3, nuptials. For glam, Crawford — who shares daughter Kaia, 24, and son Presley with husband Rande Gerber — opted for brown smoky eyeshadow and makeup by Jamal Scott.

Kaia, meanwhile, coordinated her look with her mom by rocking a black gown with a sweetheart neckline. Kaia completed her look with a styled blowout featuring loose waves and parted in the middle, manicured brows and glossy lips with makeup by Scott.

6 Best Fantasy Movies of 2026 So Far

Published

on

Boogle smiles out of the water

Over the course of the year so far, fans of fantasy movies have had plenty to be satisfied with and entertained by. From The Odyssey to Wildwood, the fantasy films that will likely be remembered as the best of 2026 by the time the year ends are yet to release; but with the first half of the year over, there have already been six particular movies that have satisfied the cravings for magic, mythological creatures, and grand adventurous quests that fantasy fans inevitable feel every year. None of these films are truly perfect, but they’ve all further proven that fantasy has been thriving throughout the 2020s.

Whether it’s a massive family blockbuster like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, an underrated indie darling like Pizza Movie, or a future cult classic like Masters of the Universe, the best fantasy films of 2026 thus far will all likely be remembered as some of the most beloved films of the year by the time 2027 rolls in. They may be flawed, but they’re also delightfully creative and awfully entertaining. Regardless of how well they performed financially or critically, they should all be able to allow fantasy film fans to get their fix before the genre’s bigger releases start coming out throughout the second half of 2026.

‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’

For anyone even slightly familiar with the mere concept of video games, Mario needs no introduction. The 1983 arcade platformer Mario Bros. was where it all properly started; and from there, the plumber from Brooklyn who loves stepping on turtles became not just the face of Nintendo, but arguably of gaming as a whole. With that level of iconicity, it should come as no surprise that Illumination’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie performed as extraordinarily as it did at the box office back in 2023. Likewise, it was no surprise that a sequel was announced, and it was no surprise that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie became one of the highest-grossing animated movies at the worldwide box office.

It’s nowhere close to being a perfect animated film, nor even to being a perfect adaptation of one of the most beloved video games of all time. But even still, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is filled to the brim with colorful Easter eggs, delightful surprises, and fun bits of world-building for all Nintendo fans to enjoy. The score is delectably nostalgic, the characters are all fun to follow around, and the plot is more than satisfying enough for families. Part science fiction, part fantasy, and 100% a love letter to Mario’s history, this is a movie that all those who’ve grown up with Nintendo ought to give a chance.

‘Swapped’

Led by Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple delivering two of the most endearing voice performances of any animated movie from this year thus far, Swapped is further proof that Netflix has been keeping fantasy alive over the course of the first half of 2026. It’s one of the best fantasy movies of the last six years, at least as far as families are concerned. It’s unlikely to appeal to adult viewers on their own, unless they typically enjoy watching animated children’s media; but any family looking for a fun weekend watch that absolutely everyone will be able to enjoy should give Swapped, a perfectly serviceable buddy comedy, a shot.

There aren’t many surprises or unexpected story elements waiting here, as Swapped is definitely an all-too-familiar family fantasy movie the likes of which we’ve seen many times before. Sometimes, though, familiar films can feel like cinematic comfort food, and that’s precisely what all the love and passion that was clearly poured into Swapped‘s production elicits. Fun, visually striking, and greatly benefiting from having some genuinely imaginative world-building, it may not be one of the best animated movies on Netflix’s catalog of original films, but it’s nevertheless very much worth it for all those who love animated fantasy.

4

‘Cosmic Princess Kaguya!’

Smiling girl in 'Cosmic Princess Kaguya!' Image via Netflix
Advertisement

Though not nearly enough people have actually watched it, Netflix’s Cosmic Princess Kaguya! is nevertheless one of the best anime movies of the 2020s so far. This animated musical represents Shingo Yamashita‘s feature directorial debut, and what a way to break onto the scene it is. Adaptations and reimaginings of the Japanese folktale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter are aplenty, but few are even half as exquisitely creative, vibrant, and colorful as this one is. Is it perfect? Definitely not. For all its merits, the movie is at times a bit too messy with its wild ideas for its own sake. But are those ideas so fun that it’s easy to forgive some chaos in how they’re presented? Absolutely.

It’s a gem so refreshingly creative and so visually stunning that it fully earns the exclamation mark at the end of its title. It’s cyberpunk science fantasy at its most irresistibly entertaining, elevated by an unforgettable score and its mesmerizing visuals. It’s a dizzying romp in all the right ways, and though people who prefer fantasy when it’s a bit more coldly calculated won’t likely love the over-the-top way in which Yamashita approaches the material, it’s still a must-see for anyone who loves what anime has had to offer throughout the history of 2020s cinema.

3

‘Pizza Movie’

The roots of true stoner comedies date as far back as the 1970s, and the subgenre has come an awfully long way since then. Passing through the teen films of the 1980s and the slacker comedies of the 1990s, we make it all the way to this year’s Pizza Movie, an awfully underappreciated absurdist stoner comedy that was a surprise streaming hit for Hulu. Perfect for those who love gonzo, psychedelic comedies full of energy that never lets up, Pizza Movie will surely not appeal to all cinephilic palates, but that’s precisely the source of its charm. It’s unapologetically quirky and unique, and that’s why it’s such a must-see.

Its fantasy elements are unconventional: Rather than being an actual, traditional quest carried out by mythical heroes, Pizza Movie takes an absurd, hallucinogenic drug trip and turns it into the source of an epic, surreal adventure unlike any other that 2026 has produced thus far. Starring Gaten Matarazzo at his most charming and hilarious, it’s a bonkers explosion of wild ideas that anyone who loves bizarre comedies should be able to enjoy greatly—sober or otherwise.

You have nerve. Not the reckless kind, but the deep, quiet courage that shows up even when you’re terrified — especially then.

  • Gryffindors don’t act because they’re fearless — they act because they understand that some things are worth being afraid for.
  • You stand up for people when it would be easier to look away.
  • You charge toward what’s right even when the odds are terrible.
  • Harry, Hermione, Ron — the heroes of Hogwarts’s greatest chapter — all called the tower with the scarlet and gold home. And now, so do you.

You are driven, sharp, and utterly clear-eyed about what you want and how to get there.

  • You are resourceful, strategic, and you play the long game.
  • You know your worth. You protect your own fiercely.
  • The dungeon common room with its view of the Black Lake is yours — and the ambitions that will take you further than anyone expects are yours too.

You are the kind of person that makes the world genuinely better just by being in it.

  • Hufflepuff is not the “safe” house or the “leftover” house — it is the house of those with the greatest heart and the most unwavering integrity.
  • You show up. You work hard. You don’t need glory or recognition — you do what’s right because it’s right.

‘Masters of the Universe’

masters-of-the-universe-5 Image via Amazon MGM Studios

It’s not just those who grew up during the 1980s; anyone familiar with the American pop culture from that decade should be perfectly familiar with Masters of the Universe, Mattel’s sword-and-planet media franchise that originated with a beloved toy line and then transformed into one of the most iconic cartoons of all time. This year’s film of the same name, directed by Travis Knight, is the latest addition to that franchise, and it can already be counted among the best action movies of the last six years. It’s a science fantasy romp that unfortunately underperformed at the box office, but nostalgia and its sheer quality should be more than enough for it to become a bona fide cult classic soon enough.

Even if that never happens, however, Masters of the Universe still deserves to be credited as one of the best fantasy movies of 2026 thus far. The cast is phenomenal, the script is perfectly entertaining and clearly done with love for the original media franchise, and there’s just enough camp here to make it feel like Knight is never taking the material too seriously. It’s a self-aware popcorn flick unlike any other we’ve seen so far this year, and though it won’t likely remain among the most beloved films of the year by the time 2027 comes around, it was nevertheless a very refreshing surprise just how well it turned out.

‘Toy Story 5’

Image via Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Back in 2010, the Best Picture Oscar-nominated Toy Story 3 felt like the perfect conclusion that the Toy Story franchise could possibly come to. Nine years after that, however, came the controversial Toy Story 4, which nevertheless made its way to a Best Animated Feature Oscar. It has been seven years since then, and although it remains to be seen whether Pixar’s latest will be able to make its way to Academy Award gold, Toy Story 5 is nevertheless a surprisingly worthwhile addition to the franchise that birthed Pixar’s legendary feature film run. It may well be the weakest installment in the series thus far, but “the weakest Toy Story movie” is nevertheless a title that still implies terrific quality.

A film about the relationship that children have with technology and screens today felt like the perfect excuse to bring back Toy Story, but that’s precisely what makes Toy Story 5 so special. At no point does the introduction of devices feel like an excuse to return to these beloved characters; rather, it feels like a perfectly natural and logical progression for the franchise to see. With its powerful messages, its consistently jaw-dropping animation, and a deeply moving focus on Jessie that all fans of the series should love, Toy Story 5 never feels like a cashgrab. It’s not one of Pixar’s best, but it’s still fantastic enough to be the best fantasy movie of 2026 so far.

Karlie Kloss Dodges Question About Taylor Swift’s Wedding

Published

Karlie Kloss Subtly Reacts to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce s Engagement News 2219721053 02

Karlie Kloss grinned for the cameras ahead of former BFF Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce — but she’s staying tight-lipped in its aftermath.

In an Instagram video shared by Deux Moi on Sunday, July 5, the model, 33, was seen dodging a question about the couple’s nuptials, staged inside New York City’s Madison Square Garden two days prior. “How was Taylor’s wedding?” a photographer was heard asking Kloss as he followed her down a Paris street.

“How’s Paris treating you?” she said in response as she kept walking with dark sunglasses shielding her eyes.

Prior to her arrival in the French capital, Kloss and husband Joshua Kushner were spotted in full glam while making their way to the star-studded wedding on Friday, June 3. Kloss rocked a strapless gold dress for the event while Kushner, 41, looked dapper in a navy suit.

Karlie Kloss is showing no signs of bad blood after Taylor Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce. Hours after Swift, 35, confirmed via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, that she is engaged, Kloss, 33, subtly reacted to the news by liking the post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” […]

Kloss’ attendance came as a surprise to fans, who are all too familiar with her falling out with Swift, 36, after the pair formed a close friendship in 2012. Their inseparable bond was publicly exhibited all the way up to and through 2015, when they shared a Vogue cover shoot together.

Fans were confused when their public interactions began to dwindle, with Kloss suddenly gushing about Swift via Instagram in 2016 after months of nothing. “Happiest of Birthdays to my ride or die @taylorswift ❤️🎂👯❤️,” Kloss wrote in December that year alongside a snap of Swift kissing her cheek. “I feel blessed to count you as my friend, sister and partner in crime. Can’t wait to celebrate together very soon ❤️🍪🍾.”

Signs of significant trouble in their relationship reared their head the following year when Kloss was omitted from Swift’s squad T-shirt in her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. Their friendship then became a magnet for online speculation as breadcrumbs of their former closeness came even more sparingly, such as when Kloss shared a behind-the-scenes snap from Swift’s Eras Tour in August 2018.

Eyebrows were raised again when Kloss “liked” Swift’s Instagram post that revealed her engagement to Kelce, also 36, in August last year. No other comments on the couple’s engagement were publicly made by Kloss.

These 5 Robert Downey Jr. Movies Are His True Masterpieces

Published

on

Robert Downey Jr. as Harry Lockhart with a bandaged hand in 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'

Before Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. went through a long, very public struggle with addiction and legal trouble, and for a while it looked like Hollywood had moved on without him. Then came the role of Tony Stark in 2008 that propelled him to A-list stardom. From that point on, he has turned into one of the most bankable stars working in cinema, so much so that Marvel even brought him back after wrapping up his Iron Man arc, this time to play one of its biggest villains yet, Doctor Doom.

But Downey has been delivering memorable performances long before Iron Man, since the 1990s, in fact. And he’s never once shown up to simply collect a paycheck. Time and time again, he completely disappears into the role at hand and creates characters that are still talked about years later. So, here are some Robert Downey Jr. movies that are flat-out masterpieces.

‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’ (2005)

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of the funniest, most criminally underseen films of the 2000s. Downey plays Harry Lockhart, a small-time thief who stumbles into an acting audition while fleeing the scene of a botched robbery. The accidental audition goes surprisingly well, and he gets flown out to Los Angeles for a screen test. He is then paired with a private investigator named Gay Perry (Val Kilmer) for research purposes, and the two of them end up getting tangled in a deadly conspiracy.

Downey also serves as the film’s unreliable narrator, and he is insanely funny here. He tends to go off on unrelated tangents mid-scene. He constantly loses his train of thought. And every once in a while, he stops the movie to apologize for forgetting to explain something important that already happened. This kind of comedic device could become very gimmicky in lesser hands, but Downey makes it feel genuinely hilarious. If you love films like The Nice Guys, In Bruges, or The Gentlemen, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang should be at the top of your watchlist.

‘Chaplin’ (1992)

The 1992 Richard Attenborough film follows Charlie Chaplin‘s life from his impoverished childhood in Edwardian London all the way through his rise to Hollywood superstardom. And from there, it also covers his turbulent string of marriages and his eventual exile from the United States during the Red Scare. It is a massive, sprawling story covering decades of one of the most fascinating lives in entertainment history.

But arguably the greatest thing about Chaplin is Downey’s performance. He perfectly captures Charlie Chaplin’s physical mannerisms, his comedic grace, and his tragic personal flaws with phenomenal precision, from his early twenties all the way into old age, and never once loses the thread of who this person was underneath the legend. It even earned Downey an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in 1993.

‘Tropic Thunder’ (2008)

Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus with a cigar in his mouth in 'Tropic Thunder'

Tropic Thunder is an action-comedy loaded with offensive jokes that eviscerate the Hollywood studio system and lampoon the toxic egos of A-list actors with a ferocity that no major studio film has really matched since. It’s the exact kind of movie Hollywood doesn’t make anymore. The premise follows a group of actors shooting a big-budget war film whose director drops them into an actual jungle with hidden cameras to capture the actors’ authentic performances. However, things soon spiral out of control when the actors stumble into the middle of an actual warzone and think it’s all make-believe.

Downey is especially funny here as Kirk Lazarus, a delusional, multi-Oscar-winning Australian method actor. And he is front and centre in what is considered the most iconic (and the most controversial) joke in the entire movie, where Downey appears in blackface because he’s extremely committed to his role as a Black Vietnam War sergeant, and goes around spouting the N-word. The irony is that the performance ended up earning him an actual Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Queens, New York

🕷️ Spider-Man

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

  • You do the right thing not because it’s easy, but because no one else will.
  • You understand that responsibility isn’t a burden you choose — it’s one that finds you.
  • Whether it’s a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
  • Peter Parker’s lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn’t a slogan to you. It’s the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.

Hell’s Kitchen, New York

😈 Daredevil

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

  • You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
  • You’ve looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.
  • Matt Murdock’s duality — champion in the courtroom, devil in the alley — mirrors your own.
  • Relentless, conflicted, and unwilling to stop. That is exactly you.

Stark Industries, Malibu

🤖 Iron Man

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

  • You lead with your mind and back it up with resources, innovation, and a stubbornness that borders on heroic.
  • You started out looking out for yourself, but somewhere along the way the world became your responsibility.
  • Tony Stark’s arc — from ego to sacrifice — is your arc too.
  • You build, you plan, and when the moment comes, you’re willing to give everything. Because in the end, you’re Iron Man.

New York City

💀 The Punisher

You’ve been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What’s left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

  • You don’t ask for forgiveness, and you don’t expect gratitude.
  • You see a corrupt, broken world and you’ve decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
  • Frank Castle’s war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
  • Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.

Asgard · Protector of the Nine Realms

⚡ Thor

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

  • You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
  • You’re larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
  • Thor’s story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
  • You bring the storm when it’s needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.

Brooklyn, New York · The Avengers

🛡️ Captain America

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

  • You don’t bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
  • Steve Rogers didn’t become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
  • Your strength isn’t in your fists; it’s in your refusal to compromise what’s right, no matter the cost.
  • In a world full of people taking the easy road, you’re the one who picks up the shield and stands up — every single time.

‘Oppenheimer’ (2023)

Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr.) stands in his office, disgruntled, as he talks with Oppenheimer.

Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer follows J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), the theoretical physicist who spearheaded the Manhattan Project and built the atomic bomb, and the devastating personal consequences that followed. At the center of those consequences is Downey as Rear Admiral Lewis Strauss, the scheming bureaucrat who serves as the film’s primary antagonist and orchestrates the revocation of Oppenheimer’s security clearance during the paranoia of the Red Scare. Strauss begins the film as an ally and admirer of Oppenheimer before slowly letting his resentment curdle into something more bitter.

By 2023, Downey had spent over a decade almost exclusively playing Tony Stark, so seeing him take on a more dramatic villainous role with no quips and no arc of redemption was genuinely startling. He was playing completely against type, and he was extraordinary doing it. The performance was universally praised as the best of his career, and it also won him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

‘Iron Man’ (2008)

No film on this list changed cinema quite like Iron Man. This was the movie that kick-started the MCU and turned the superhero genre into the cultural phenomenon that it is today. The story follows Tony Stark, a genius weapons manufacturer who is captured by terrorists while demonstrating his latest missile in Afghanistan. He builds a rudimentary suit of armor to escape and then comes home, shuts down his weapons division, and builds a better suit to become a full-time superhero.

It’s got great action sequences, a killer soundtrack, and delivers a perfectly satisfying superhero origin story, but none of it would have worked without Downey. He perfectly slid into the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist persona of Tony Stark like the role was explicitly written for him. Before his portrayal, Iron Man was no more than a B-list Marvel character. After Downey, he has become most people’s favorite superhero.

Adam Sandler’s Sweet Advice To Taylor Swift Revealed

Published

on

Adam Sandler at Actors Portraits at 82nd Venice International Film Festival 2025

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s lavish New York City wedding featured heartfelt vows, emotional moments, and plenty of celebrity guests, but one of the ceremony’s biggest highlights came courtesy of Adam Sandler

The actor and comedian, who officiated the star-studded celebration, left the newlyweds with one surprisingly simple piece of marriage advice that resonated with everyone in attendance.

According to Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid, it wasn’t an elaborate speech; it was a reminder that love thrives in life’s smallest moments.

Adam Sandler took on one of the most unexpected roles at Swift and Kelce’s wedding, serving as the officiant during the couple’s ceremony at Madison Square Garden.

As The Blast reported, the choice surprised many fans, but a representative for the singer explained that Sandler was selected because he is a close friend of both the bride and groom who helped “join both families together.”

The ceremony also broke with tradition, as the couple skipped bridesmaids and groomsmen altogether.

Instead, Swift asked her brother, Austin, to stand beside her as her man of honor, while Kelce chose his brother, Jason, as his best man.

Sandler’s involvement reflected the close bond he has developed with both stars over the years, from praising Swift’s kindness toward his family to building a friendship with Kelce while working together on a movie.

Sandler Shared One Simple Rule For Swift And Kelce

As one of the high-profile guests at Swift and Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding, Reid witnessed Adam Sandler’s memorable performance as officiant firsthand.

Speaking with CNN after the ceremony, Reid revealed that Sandler’s biggest message to the couple centered on one everyday habit.

“He said kiss every chance you get — every chance you have, every single day,” Reid shared, adding, “So whether you’re going to bed or going to work … go ahead and kiss her.”

For Reid, the advice stood out because of its simplicity. “And I thought that was … in a simple way, in its simplest form, really, was touching that way,” he shared.

The veteran coach later repeated the same message during a Sunday press conference, explaining why Sandler’s words stayed with him long after the ceremony ended.

“Hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. Make sure you do it every day, every minute, if you have an opportunity to do it, knock it out, and you won’t have problems,” Reid said.

While Sandler is best known for making audiences laugh, Reid said the comedian struck the perfect balance between comedy and sincerity while officiating the wedding.

The 68-year-old couldn’t help but praise Sandler’s approach. “In a simply, hysterical way, he was a phenomenal … he’s crazy, but he did a great job in getting them married with a lot of humor but that part there I thought, pretty good advice, in its simplest form,” Reid said.

The role was a fitting one for the “Grown Ups” actor, whose friendship with both Swift and Kelce has grown over the past several years.

His daughters, Sadie and Sunny, have long been devoted Swift fans. The family attended the Eras Tour in August 2023 before appearing together on the red carpet at the premiere of the concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” later that year.

Sandler’s connection with Kelce also expanded professionally when he cast the NFL star in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

Kelce’s cameo quickly became one of the comedy’s most talked-about moments, with the tight end appearing in nothing but an apron while Bad Bunny’s character, Oscar, covered him in honey.

Adam Sandler’s wedding advice carried extra weight because it came from someone who has enjoyed one of Hollywood’s longest-lasting marriages.

The actor has been married to his wife, Jackie, for over two decades, having tied the knot in June 2003.

As The Blast reported, Sandler recently celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary by arranging a plane to skywrite “23 A J” across the sky before sharing the heartfelt moment on Instagram.

He captioned the post, “Happy 23rd anniversary to my sweetheart. Love you forever,” earning praise from fans, celebrities, and even daughter Sadie, who reacted with heart emojis.

She went further to celebrate her parents by sharing two throwback pictures of the couple on her Instagram stories.

In the first photo, Sandler carried his wife over his shoulder, while the second showed them dancing.

The anniversary celebration came shortly after reports that Sandler’s famously casual wardrobe choices left Jackie embarrassed on the red carpet.

As The Blast reported, Sandler sparked online backlash after arriving at Jackie’s “Office Romance” premiere in a New York Knicks hoodie, sweatpants, and sneakers, but insiders insisted the criticism missed what actually mattered in their marriage.

According to the report, Jackie had long embraced her husband’s famously casual style. “Adam and Jackie have been together for decades, and while there was a time when Jackie wasn’t always thrilled with Adam’s outfit choices, she’s long since grown used to them and fully accepts his laid-back style,” a source said.

The insider added, “At the end of the day, he shows up for her in all the ways that truly matter,” describing the actor as “loving, genuine, and consistently supportive.”

Former Bachelor and Bachelorette Leads: Where Are They Now?

Published

Ashley-Herbert--J.P.-Rosenbaum

Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum got engaged during the season 7 finale of The Bachelorette in 2011. The following year, the twosome tied the knot in December 2012 and their nuptials were documented for a TV special. Ashley gave birth to their first child, a baby boy named Fordham, in September 2014. The pair welcomed their second child, a daughter named Essex, in November 2016. In August 2018, Ashley and J.P. renewed their vows during a trip to Aruba.

Ashley revealed that JP was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, is a condition in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves, in December 2019. “He is in treatment and doing well,” the pediatric dentist said at the time. “It may be a long road to full recovery, but we are so grateful to everyone that has helped us get to a speedy diagnosis and treatment.”

JP, for his part, detailed his symptoms during a December hospital stay: “Things you do every day, like picking up this phone, or buttoning buttons, tying shoelaces, putting on deodorant, just can’t do it. Picking up my kids, can’t do it.” He was discharged on December 9, 2019.

In October 2020, the couple announced they had split after nearly eight years of marriage. “It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that, after months of separation, Jp and I have amicably decided to go our separate ways,” Hebert captioned a photo of the couple slow-dancing on Instagram. “We created the most beautiful children and shared memories that will never be forgotten. Our differences have taken a toll on our relationship and after years of attempting to repair the damage, we’ve decided that it is in our family’s best interest to create new and separate lives for our children. Please respect our privacy as we move forward with the newness of our lives. Our ultimate focus is to create stable and healthy lives for our children. Thank you for your love and support throughout the years. Wishing you all love, happiness, and good health.”

In March 2022, the dentist revealed that she has had a boyfriend for nearly one year.

10 Video Games Without a Single Flaw

Published

on

Zagreus in the underworld in Hades

While many fans will describe some video games as being absolutely perfect, there isn’t really such a thing, because it is almost impossible to create a masterpiece without some sort of flaw. Titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are some of the greatest video games of all time, but they contain a handful of issues restricting them from being flawless.

However, is there really no such thing as perfect? These ten video games beg to differ. This list will highlight ten video games that don’t have a single flaw based on gameplay, design, polish, optimization, pacing, originality, fan opinion, critical acclaim, and overall quality. Some gamers might not personally prefer these games, but outside of taste and considering the overwhelming consensus, these are flawless masterpieces.

Making a flawless indie game can be harder or easier to make perfect, depending on the scope and passion behind it, and one masterful example is Hades. Zagreus is the son of the titular god and the prince of Hell, whom he repeatedly tries to escape from in hopes of finding the truth about his mother. Trying to get to Olympus, he must fight an endless battle against the forces of Hell.

The narrative problem of rogue-likes is solved in Hades, which uses the core feature as a way to tell its story. The sense of progression is incredible, with gamers naturally improving throughout the game. Hades has tight gameplay and a well-designed progression system, which work together with its narrative to create a flawless experience.

‘BioShock’ (2007)

Video games have become a storytelling medium, and there aren’t many better narratives than BioShock. Playing as a character named Jack, gamers find themselves seeking refuge in a lone lighthouse after a plane crash. But when they go inside, they discover an underwater failed utopia with spliced mutations wandering the desolate city and political warfare still rampant.

Every BioShock video game is a masterpiece, but the first one is on another level, mainly renowned because of its narrative and shocking plot twist that shook the gaming landscape to its core. The game’s unrivalled aesthetic and tense atmosphere also play a part in the immersion, not to mention the puzzle-solving gameplay and shooter action, which enhances the narrative, tone, and themes.

Hideo Kojima is a legendary game designer, and his magnum opus is arguably Metal Gear Solid. Playing as the iconic Solid Snake, players must infiltrate a secure nuclear facility on an island to stop a terrorist organization from launching a nuclear strike that could destroy the world.

Metal Gear Solid helped video games move past a simple gameplay route and adopt a form of prestige filmmaking. With dedicated camera angles, the design perfectly framed the player experience, offering a unique way to play the game. Besides its influence, Metal Gear Solid also boasts some of the best stealth gameplay in modern gaming, which surprisingly holds up even to this day.

‘Super Mario Odyssey’ (2017)

Nintendo ensures games from their biggest franchises are perfect, and that is especially true for Mario, which has many games that could be on this list, like Super Mario World. Still, Super Mario Odyssey is a newer title that has the benefit of modern design and technology. The titular plumber must go on an adventure to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, who’s holding her captive to marry her.

The platformer genre is dominated by Mario, and Super Mario Odyssey is Nintendo’s most recent 3D masterpiece. With open sandbox areas filled with items to collect, places to explore, and platforms to jump on, Mario has never been freer. The traversal mechanics were also phenomenal, with the capture system offering a wide range of opportunities, proving that the greatest video game character can still be fresh.

‘Outer Wilds’ (2019)

As mentioned, this list features a couple of indie games, with the next one being Outer Wilds. This experimental sci-fi title has players controlling an astronaut exploring a mysterious galaxy. Every 21 minutes, the world resets, with players needing to use what they learned during that time in their next loop, slowly uncovering the mystery of the planet and lore of its ancient race.

Progression is basically just a complicated system of locks and keys in most games, but Outer Wilds innovates with its knowledge-based progression system, which creates an intricately paced event based on each player’s actions and choices. Exploring the galaxy and learning its truths through experimental methods is a gameplay experience unlike any other, cementing Outer Wilds as one of the most imaginative titles in recent years.

‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ (1998)

The Legend of Zelda franchise is home to some of the best video games of all time, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Link is just a normal forest boy, but after the evil Gerudo king, Ganondorf, kidnaps Princess Zelda, the young hero must venture outside the forest and take on difficult dungeons in order to awaken the sages and save the princess.

As one of the best video game franchises, The Legend of Zelda is no stranger to perfection, but its best is undoubtedly Ocarina of Time. It introduced the Z-targeting mechanic, a feature still used today that redefined the modern era of gaming. Ocarina of Time features challenging yet rewarding and compelling dungeons along the way of an unforgettable adventure of wonder, drama, and excitement.

‘God of War’ (2018)

The God of War franchise was beloved because of its adrenaline-pumping gameplay, but the 2018 reboot went in a completely different direction. After the death of his wife, Kratos sets off on a journey to scatter her ashes at the highest peak. Alongside his son, Kratos and Atreus must fight against the Norse gods who want the latter for mysterious reasons.

Right from the introduction, God of War comes out swinging, delivering a bridge of cinematic prestige and gameplay perfection. With riveting combat and inventive enemies, this acclaimed game has unfiltered action gameplay, well-designed areas that reward exploration despite being linear, and a world-renowned narrative that most agree is the best in the modern industry. God of War might just be the god of current gaming.

‘Super Metroid’ (1994)

Metroid may not be the best-selling Nintendo franchise, but it is home to some critically-acclaimed masterpieces, including Super Metroid. The space pirate Ridley has stolen an infant Metroid, prompting Samus Aran to travel to the planet Zebes in order to retrieve it. However, she must watch her back, or the creatures of the planet will overwhelm her.

The Metroidvania genre was established by two games, one being Super Metroid, which arguably perfected the formula. Boasting some of the best level design in gaming history, this seminal title invisibly guides the player without ever feeling like it’s hand-holding. Instead, the game takes players through new and familiar areas that never get boring to explore. Super Metroid keeps the gameplay flowing, using its flawless pace to create non-stop combat.

‘Portal 2’ (2011)

Valve is best known for the video game service, Steam, but they used to make some of the most engaging video games ever, such as Portal 2. Set an unknown number of years after the first game, Chell awakens again in the same facility, but this time it is worn down and abandoned. After accidentally waking up GLaDOS, Chell is forced to undergo torturous scientific challenges while trying to escape.

Taking the imaginative concept of portal guns and using intricate and well-designed puzzles to create a thought-provoking challenge is why Portal 2 is regarded as a masterpiece. It also has a co-op mode with equally engaging puzzles that challenge cooperation and synergy. On top of all of this, Portal 2 has sharp writing and witty dialogue, truly making it a flawless game in every aspect.

‘Tetris’ (1984)

Most of the games on this list have some sort of narrative to give direction to the gameplay; on the other hand, Tetris is pure gameplay; there is no need for a story to get in the way. A select bag of pieces slowly falls down from the top of the screen one by one, with the player needing to arrange them in an order that doesn’t get too crowded, because when it reaches the top, the game is over.

As the oldest game on this list, Tetris has maintained its legacy perfectly because it is a game without any flaws. It may be a simple gameplay experience, but that is exactly why it is perfect. There is nothing to hinder the simple yet engaging loop, simply enjoying the tension with each new block drop. Tetris is a timeless video game that has only remained relevant because it is flawless, arguably the most perfect video game.

The Best Fantasy Franchise of All Time Officially Scores 2 New Releases in 2027

Final Fantasy is gearing up for a very busy 2027. Back in April at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Anaheim, Square Enix revealed the official trailer for the wildly popular MMORPG’s latest expansion, Evercold, which will take the Warrior of Light and their companions beyond the Source to the icy wastes of the Fourth. Players won’t have to wait long to jump in either, as it launches at the beginning of the year in January. Last month’s Summer Game Fest, then, surprised attendees and audiences with an extended preview of Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, the final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake saga, and revealed a surprisingly near release window in Spring.

While both games figure to keep fans occupied for hundreds of hours between them, that’s not all Square Enix has planned for their legendary franchise next year. The company is currently at Anime Expo 2026, where it showed off its upcoming slate of English book and manga localizations coming in early 2027. Among those were two new Final Fantasy titles that will take place in Midgar and Eorzea and follow a few fan-favorite characters. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny is a novel sequel to Traces of Two Pasts, which followed Tifa Lockhart and Aerith Gainsborough as they shared stories while journeying with Cloud and the rest of the party, while Final Fantasy XIV Picture Book: Me and the Cornservant offers a lighthearted adventure for all ages with the titular Cornservant. Penned by Kazushige Nojima, the former was actually released in Japan at the start of 2026, but this will be a chance for English readers to dive in ahead of Revelation‘s release.

Picking up where its predecessor left off, Dear Destiny is split into two parts: One is told by Tifa as she wrestles with the memories of her hometown of Nibelheim’s destruction and recalls the difficult balance of getting by at Seventh Heaven in Midgar while trying to evade detection by the Turks as they investigate the eco-terrorist group, Avalanche. Aerith’s stories make up the other part, as she remembers how she found a place selling flowers in Midgar and the worries she felt waiting for Zach’s return. It’ll be a continued illustration of how they got to where they are, and the friendship the two formed on the journey to save the planet. Additionally, another prequel story following Cloud in his days as a Shinra trooper will be included as a bonus.

Your Universe Has Been Chosen
You Belong In…

Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.

  • You are drawn to the moral clarity of a universe where hope itself is a form of resistance.
  • You’d find your people in the Rebellion — a ragtag coalition of true believers held together by conviction more than resources.
  • Star Wars is fundamentally a story about ordinary people choosing to matter in an extraordinary conflict — and that is exactly your kind of story.
  • The Force may or may not be with you. But the will to use it for something larger than yourself certainly is.

Middle-earth

Lord of the Rings

You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

  • Middle-earth is a world of ancient wonder, deep friendship, and a darkness that only retreats when enough small acts of courage accumulate.
  • You would thrive here because you value the fellowship more than the glory — the road more than the arrival.
  • Tolkien’s universe rewards patience, loyalty, and the willingness to carry something heavy across a very long distance.
  • Those are not burdens to you. They are simply how you move through the world.

The Wizarding World

Harry Potter

You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

  • The Wizarding World is a place of wonder hidden in plain sight, where learning is transformative and the bonds you form at school follow you into every battle.
  • You would flourish here because you take both the magic and the friendships seriously — and you understand that one without the other is incomplete.
  • Harry Potter’s universe ultimately rewards those who choose to stand for something even when standing is terrifying.
  • That choice — made quietly, without guarantee — is something you understand completely.

Westeros · The Known World

Game of Thrones

You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

  • Westeros is a world that rewards intelligence, adaptability, and the willingness to understand that every alliance is also a negotiation.
  • You would survive here — possibly thrive here — because you don’t confuse the world as it is with the world as you’d like it to be.
  • Game of Thrones is a story about what happens when the idealists and the realists collide. You are sharp enough to know which one lasts longer.
  • Winter always comes. You are already prepared.

The United Federation of Planets

Star Trek

You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

  • Star Trek is a universe where the questions matter as much as the answers, and where encountering something utterly alien is cause for wonder rather than fear.
  • You would belong here because you are fundamentally optimistic about what intelligence and decency can achieve — while being honest about how hard that achievement is.
  • The Federation is the universe’s most ambitious thought experiment: what if we actually got better?
  • You don’t just hope that’s possible. You think it’s the only thing worth working toward.

‘Final Fantasy XIV’s New Picture Book Explores a Small But Beloved Character

Me and the Cornservant, meanwhile, is the latest picture book set in Eorzea following The Namazu and the Greatest Gift, and it was created by the official FFXIV development team. Main Scenario Writer Banri Oda penned the story, while Naoki Ikushima and Rina Yoshiura handled the illustrations. For context, the Cornservant is a tiny, living corncob creature encountered in a series of sidequests during the Dawntrail expansion that players can accompany on a journey to feed the hungry of Tuliyollal and beyond, and bring along with them as a little minion. In the book, the corn-being meets a young Miqo’te who, believing the creature to be lonely, gives it a little poke, beginning an unexpected adventure. It’s a much simpler, smaller-scale tale that embraces the whimsy of FFXIV‘s reality rather than exploring the world-ending threats or more complicated political dealings that are present within.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny is currently available for pre-order at the official Square Enix website, Penguin Random House, and other major book retailers ahead of its release in January. Final Fantasy XIV Picture Book: Me and the Cornservant will open for pre-orders in mid-July before releasing in April. Get a look at official art from both books above.
