Young and the Restless TWIST: Matt Clark’s Redemption Path Revealed!

Published

on

Young and the Restless: Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)

Young and the Restless sees that the villainous Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) still does not remember who he is or any of the heinous things that he’s done. And this could be setting the stage for a redemption story that nobody expected to happen on the CBS soap.

Whenever a villain gets amnesia on a soap, that can be a red flag of an impending redemption arc. So, we’re going to talk about how Roger Howarth’s character could be redeemed on Young and the Restless, as improbable as that seems.

Phyllis Tells Matt His Laundry List Of Crimes on Young and the Restless

This week, we’re going to see Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) telling Matt a whole laundry list of crimes that he has committed that he just can’t remember. Phyllis stuns Matt when she tells him he’s committed attempted murder. He has raped at least two women, one of them being Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). There’s also kidnapping Noah Newman and Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and Matt running a fentanyl drug ring, several crimes in his past, including the rape and setting up Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) as an attempted murderer.

Plus, more recently, Matt tried to blow up Nick, Sharon, Noah, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) in Las Vegas. And basically, the list goes on and on. Matt was absolutely appalled, and he told Phyllis he didn’t want to believe he’s such a horrible person. And Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) told Matt that he shouldn’t trust Phyllis. And then Patty said she wants Matt to get his memories back. But guess what? He said he doesn’t want his memories back. That’s what he told Phyllis.

New Matt Clark Appalled on Y&R

So, it seems to me that this newest version of Matt with no memories is a pretty decent person and he’s got some sort of conscience. And he told Phyllis and Patty both that he doesn’t want to be a villain. So, that sure sounds like Y&R may be looking to redeem him so they can keep Roger Howarth around.

Now, the very idea that Matt Clark might be redeemed sounds crazy, right? However, this is soap land, so it’s totally possible. And we’re going to talk about exactly how they could pull this off. And that we might be seeing Roger Howarth as a permanent player on Young and the Restless, which honestly I wouldn’t mind. I am a fan.

Matt’s Criminal Charges Have to Be Dealt With

The first matter is Matt’s arrest warrant that Christine Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) confirmed is lurking out there. The criminal charges have to be dealt with. Given that Sienna beat Matt into a traumatic brain injury that caused his amnesia, I think a lawyer could make a case that he is incapable of standing trial. You know, you have to understand what you did and what your charges are, stuff like that.

So, I’m sure when Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen) catches up with him, Matt is going to be arrested. Because the warrant’s not going to just evaporate. But he could get a lawyer that convinces a judge he’s incompetent to stand trial. And Matt might wind up being sent to Fairview Sanitarium.

In cases like this, when you are sent to a psychiatric hospital, it comes down to the doctors. They decide how long the person stays. And whether they’re fit to be admitted back into society. So they could put Matt into Fairview. And if you remember we’ve seen Sharon and Patty and others sent there. Because sorting the criminal charges is critical if the showrunners want Roger Howarth to stay.

Nick And Sharon Could Help Redeem Matt on Young and the Restless

Another path towards redemption for Matt would be through Nick and Sharon Newman. It would be really interesting if Nick also wound up at Fairview for rehab for his fentanyl addiction. I mean, it would be absolutely wild if he wound up there the same time as Matt, who is the guy who got Nick hooked on fentanyl. I do think that Matt is feeling genuine remorse over the things he’s been told that he did.

So, Matt might spend time with Nick at the sanitarium and be absolutely sickened at what he did to him, not just recently. But also back in the day. And of course, Sharon would be visiting Nick at the rehab center. So, if they are trying to redeem Matt, I think we’d have to see Sharon in the mix. If she were visiting Nick, then Sharon might also interact with Matt, who may beg Sharon to forgive him. And for the chance to prove he’s changed.

You know, I do think that Sharon is capable of forgiving Matt. We could see Sharon realizing that there was something deeply wrong with Matt and he was mentally ill when he did those bad things to Sharon, Nick, and the others, and Sharon might have faith that therapy can heal Matt so he is not a danger to anybody anymore.

Matt Truly Remorseful on Y&R?

If Josh Griffith decides he wants to redeem Roger Howarth’s character, I’d also assume that Matt would eventually recover his memories. But I think it would be gradual. I think they would trickle back in and maybe he remembers things he did to Sharon and Nick and others. But not all at once.

If Matt gets his memories back gradually, then he can cope with things as they come, regret his past actions, and genuinely take ownership and accountability and prove that he’s changed. This version of Roger Howarth’s character seems like he’d be horrified to remember the things that Matt did to Sharon in particular. So, that head bashing Sienna gave him may have straightened his brain out and truly changed him for the better.

Matt Could Do Something Heroic on Young and Restless

And another way to move Matt towards a possible redemption could be the approach of an ultimate sacrifice. This is a very famous thing they’ve done on lots of soaps where somebody has a criminal conviction or charges looming over them and they do something heroic and then they get a gubernatorial pardon or something like that.

So, maybe Matt does something heroic and saves one of his past victims like Nick or Sharon or maybe even Noah. And then if Matt risks his life and he has saved somebody that’s important to people in Genoa City, they may accept that he’s really changed and stopped pressing charges. You know, heck, it’d be the wildest outcome if he actually saved Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). The old Matt would certainly never do that.

Roger Howarth Has Played Redeemed Villains Before

And in case you think he’s irredeemable, two other soap operas would disagree. Roger Howarth has played two other really terrible villains that are actually quite similar to Matt’s history. That may be what have inspired his casting to start with. So, he played really wicked characters on both One Life to Live and General Hospital.

Over on One Life to Live, Roger Howarth played Todd Manning, who was really bad. He was part of a gang rape in college. He did just all these bad things. But then One Life to Live kicked off his redemption story by having Roger Howarth’s character saving the woman that was the victim of the gang rape and also saving her two kids from certain death. And then they connected Todd Manning to a core legacy family, put him in a romance with somebody really nice, had him inherit money, gave him stability, and all that led to a gradual redemption for Roger Howarth’s character.

Young and the Restless: Matt Clark

Roger Howarth’s History of Redeeming Characters

Then over on General Hospital, he played this guy Franco, who was a serial killer and an artist who the character was originally created and played by the actor James Franco. So, he did some raping and murdering. But then GH recast him after he was supposedly killed.

They brought him back with Roger Howarth in the role and with the idea in mind from the get-go that they wanted to redeem and keep him. So, they diagnosed Franco with a brain tumor, had it removed, and then his lawyer argued that it was the reason he did all those crimes, and she was able to get his charges dropped. I think a conviction overturned.

It’s been a few years, so I don’t remember exactly how it went. But she brought the little tumor in a jar into court, and it was really good legal work. So, then Roger Howarth played Franco on this redemption arc where everybody hated him and he had to claw a way to acceptance. He became an art therapist. He worked with trauma patients.

There Are Solid Reasons to Keep Matt Around on Y&R

Plus, even over on Y&R, there are solid reasons to keep Matt around. First of all, he’s a great actor. Second, ratings have been up since he returned. Third, Roger Howarth has established chemistry with Michelle Stafford. Because their characters were romantically involved over on General Hospital.

Plus, with Patty in the mix, the three of them together is a whole bag of crazy with a lot of soapy potential, and they may be keeping Stacy Haiduk around as Patty. She’s done over at Days of Our Lives as Kristen DiMera, so she has room to stay.

Now, we have heard backstage chatter that head writer Josh Griffith is a big fan of Roger Howarth, so I could see them trying to redeem him just like they did on One Life to Live and on General Hospital with villainous characters who were at least as bad, if not worse, than Matt Clark. So, while it seems like he may have been intended to be a short-term villain, if he has upped ratings, I smell a redemption story.

Aaron Rodgers Wears Wedding Ring at Steelers Minicamp After Surprise Wife Reveal

Aaron Rodgers has returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers for his 22nd NFL season sporting his wedding band.

Days after signing a one-year contract worth an estimated $25 million, Rodgers, 42, was photographed on Monday, May 18, on the practice field with the Steelers. In the images, Rodgers donned a black wedding band on his left hand.

Nearly one year prior, Rodgers made headlines when he announced he was married. In June 2025, Rodgers told reporters it occurred “a couple of months ago.”

While Rodgers has not publicly revealed the identity of his wife, the quarterback did share during a December 2024 appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show that he was dating a woman named Brittani.

Aaron Rodgers wore his wedding ring while throwing passes at the Pittsburgh Steelers minicamp before confirming he’d tied the knot. The Steelers’ new quarterback, 41, flashed the black wedding band for photographers on Monday, June 11, in between snaps at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in Pittsburgh. He surprised the media later in the day […]

“I used to enjoy a little outing over to the Bay Park mall in Wisconsin every now and then, but I actually ordered all of [my Christmas gifts] online this year,” Rodgers said at the time. “I was a little worried because there was one package left for my girlfriend, Brittani, that hadn’t showed up yet. So I’ve been waiting on this to show up and it showed up today.”

When Rodgers’ former teammate and Pat McAfee Show cohost AJ Hawk asked whether Rodgers was dating Britney Spears, the NFL quarterback explained that his partner’s name has a different spelling.

Aaron Rodgers made a major announcement on his first official day as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers: he’s married! Rodgers, 41, was asked about the mysterious black band on his left finger during a meeting with reporters at Steelers minicamp on Tuesday, June 10.  “It’s a wedding ring,” the quarterback said with a smile, […]

“The obsession is f***ing bizarre,” he said in a March appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “That’s the only way to put it. The obsession is really bizarre.”

He continued, “She didn’t sign up for this bulls***. She signed up for this because she loves me and supports me and wants to spend the rest of our lives together and start a family together. She didn’t sign up to be an out front social media WAG. She doesn’t want any of that bulls***. And I don’t either.”

Rodgers also revealed to McAfee, 39, in March that he and Brittani met in 2017, before he was in high-profile relationships with actress Shailene Woodley and former race car driver Danica Patrick.

“When we met back in 2017, I knew that there was something crazy special about this and I wanted to be with her,” he said. “She would make funny comments like, ‘I would never live in Green Bay’ and ‘I don’t want to be a player’s wife.’ She’s not a public person. She moved back across the pond and I got myself into crazy town.”

Mike Tyson Reveals Awkward Brad Pitt Discovery

Published

on

Mike Tyson at The 2023 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles

Years before Brad Pitt became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, he reportedly found himself in an uncomfortable encounter with Mike Tyson.

The boxing legend recently revisited the strange moment during a podcast appearance, recalling how he unexpectedly crossed paths with Pitt while his marriage to actress Robin Givens was collapsing behind the scenes.

The memory still clearly fascinates Tyson today.

During an appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, Tyson was asked whether anyone had ever stolen a girlfriend from him.

The former heavyweight champion quickly brought up the chaotic final days of his marriage to Robin Givens.

“That’s an interesting story. He didn’t steal her from me, but me and my wife were going through a divorce,” Tyson explained per the Daily Mail.

The couple married in 1988 before separating just a year later. Tyson described the relationship as deeply troubled, saying they were still spending nights together while publicly battling through the media.

At the time, Tyson claimed, he and Givens were sleeping together by night while “fighting in the papers” by day.

Tyson then recalled visiting Givens at her house one day, only to realize she was not home.

“But, one day, I went over to the house… she wasn’t home. Nobody,” Tyson said.

Moments later, he spotted her arriving in the BMW he had purchased for her.

He revealed, “Then, [I saw her] driving up the road with the BMW that I bought her.”

At first, Tyson believed the passenger was one of Givens’ sitcom co-stars from “Head of the Class.”

“I thought it was one of her friends from ‘Head of the Class’ [the sitcom Givens appeared in as Darlene Merriman between 1986 and 1991],” he shared.

Instead, he said it was a young Pitt long before global fame arrived.

“But it wasn’t one of her friends. It was Brad Pitt,” Tyson recalled. “He wasn’t Brad Pitt yet. I didn’t know who the f-ck he was… he didn’t even have a car.”

The boxing icon has shared versions of the story before. In earlier interviews, Tyson admitted he was furious after seeing Pitt with Givens.

He once claimed he was “mad as hell” after spotting Pitt, who back then “was like a beach bum, a little nerdy.”

Tyson later revisited the moment in his 2013 memoir “Undisputed Truth,” describing Pitt’s reaction when he realized who had arrived.

“You had to see the look on his face. He looked like he was ready to receive his last rites,” Tyson wrote.

Back then, Tyson was at the peak of his powers in boxing and widely viewed as one of the sport’s most intimidating figures.

Givens has also spoken publicly about the incident over the years.

She confirmed that Mike Tyson once saw her arriving home with Brad Pitt after the actor made a guest appearance on “Head of the Class.”

“We were coming from like a screening or something,” she explained.

Still, the actress strongly rejected Tyson’s earlier suggestion that he discovered the pair together in bed while they were still married.

“[That] never, ever, ever happened,” Givens later said during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”

Mike Tyson officially stepped away from professional boxing years ago, though he briefly returned to the spotlight in late 2024 for a high-profile fight against influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

After the bout, Tyson made it clear he would not participate in another official match, bringing another close to a career that originally ended in 2005.

The aftermath of the fight created fresh controversy when Paul made remarks about Tyson’s health during a livestream with influencer Adin Ross. While discussing psychedelic substances, Paul referenced ayahuasca and toad venom before making a shocking claim about the former heavyweight champion.

“Ayahuasca is really good for your brain as well. And the same with toads. Toad cured Tyson’s Parkinson’s so that he could come back and fight,” Paul said per The Blast.

Paul also claimed that toad venom is smoked. The comments quickly spread online, leading Tyson’s representatives to deny the allegations.

Speaking to TMZ, they stated, “Mike is happy and perfectly healthy. He doesn’t have Parkinson’s or any other illness.”

Facing criticism online, Paul later addressed the situation on X, insisting he misspoke while discussing Tyson’s use of alternative healing methods.

The Best Star Trek Musical Can’t Be Found On TV

The Best Star Trek Musical Can't Be Found On TV

By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Among certain fans of the franchise, “Star Trek musical” is a relatively dirty phrase. After all, the first thing it makes you think of is the Strange New Worlds episode “Subspace Rhapsody,” which is the first and (so far) only official Trek musical. The story was weak, and the songs were weaker, which is why it is the lowest-rated episode of Season 2 and generally considered a harbinger of Season 3’s obsession with sillier stories. All of that is to say that if you hated “Subspace Rhapsody,” you’re in good company and would probably be happy to never see another Star Trek musical onscreen.

Offscreen, though? That’s a different antimatter altogether! Beginning in 2023, a group of superfans premiered Khan!!! The Musical! as an off-Broadway production. This Wrath of Khan parody got killer reviews and soon grew in popularity, making an increasing number of appearances at Star Trek conventions around the world. With this musical set to beam down to Star Trek: Las Vegas this year, now is the perfect time for you to learn about this wildly popular, wildly quirky musical take on the greatest sci-fi franchise ever created.

Yes, They Khan

Star Trek Khan!!! The Musical!

What is Khan!!! The Musical! actually about? It surprisingly takes place in the era of Star Trek: The Next Generation, where Data is (in a truly meta twist) putting on a holodeck musical about the events of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, one in which, as the site says, “the bloodthirsty Khan vows revenge on a washed-up James T. Kirk.” As a side effect of this play-within-a-play concept, Data ends up playing multiple roles as he did in the episode “A Fistful of Datas.” Also, because Data is an AI, “his writing style accidentally borrows moments and tropes from shows like Rocky Horror, Chicago, and Les Misérables.”

As you might imagine, Khan!!! The Musical! is styled as a comedy, and it’s genuinely very funny. The major reason for this is that it was created by fans who have both immense knowledge and a major passion for all things Trek. In this way, it’s very much in the spirit of Lower Decks, a show that relentlessly mocked the franchise without ever seeming truly mean-spirited or cruel. Khan!!! takes aim at some familiar targets like William Shatner’s stilted delivery, but it was clearly made by fans who absolutely love The Wrath of Khan from beginning to end.

Star Trek Khan!!! The Musical!

Music is the beating heart of any musical, and I’m happy to report that Khan!!! The Musical! is full of certified bangers, many of which you can listen to via YouTube. Your mileage may very, but I found these songs to be much catchier and much, much more infectiously funny than “Subspace Rhapsody.” That Strange New Worlds episode pumped out mediocre music to tell a story that alternated between absurdity and seriousness. By comparison, Khan!!! leans fully into camp from the very beginning, mixing genuinely solid numbers with visuals and references sure to leave any Star Trek fan howling with laughter.

Care to experience this passionate love letter to The Wrath of Khan for yourself? Be sure to check out the official calendar to see if Khan!! The Musical! will be beaming down to a venue near you. As an added bonus, they’ll be making multiple Star Trek convention appearances this year, including one in Riverside, Iowa, which is the future birthplace of James T. Kirk. That way, you can enjoy the musical madness surrounded by fellow nerds in full Starfleet gear. Careful, though, because you might run into one of those pesky General Chang cosplayers who believes Khan!!!, like Hamlet, is best enjoyed in the original Klingon.

Conan O’Brien’s Failed Sitcom With Batman Star Was Canceled After One Episode, And It’s Perfect

Conan O’Brien’s Failed Sitcom With Batman Star Was Canceled After One Episode, And It’s Perfect

By Robert Scucci
| Published

Adam West has always been best known for his legendary dry humor, and it’s one of the reasons the 1960s Batman series is so much fun to watch. It’s equal parts camp and deadpan, and Adam West was born to play this version of the Caped Crusader. Most of the Golden Era Simpsons writing staff celebrated the guy for being so easy to write bits for, which is why he voiced a fictionalized version of in the Season 4 episode, “Mr. Plow.” One of those Golden Era writers was Conan O’Brien, and his adoration of West’s on-screen persona manifested in a one-off TV pilot that never got picked up: 1991’s Lookwell.

The series was conceptualized and produced by O’Brien and Robert Smigel, with Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer. For a show with as much potential as Lookwell, we only ever got the one episode, which at the time ended up becoming the “second-lowest-rated television show of all time.” Thankfully, Lookwell’s legacy has long surpassed its initial reputation and rightfully secured cult status over the decades.

Lookwell 1991

There are copies of Lookwell floating around online, lifted from broadcasts on the now-defunct Trio network, but it’s incredibly difficult to find clean versions of the original pilot. While the versions we have easy access to are pretty much the real deal, there are some alternate jokes and soundtrack changes that were likely made because of rights issues after the show was unceremoniously shelved.

He’s Not A Detective, But He Played One On TV

Lookwell 1991

Lookwell centers on titular character Ty Lookwell, portrayed by Adam West, and he couldn’t be more perfect for the part. Ty is a washed-up actor best known for his work on Bannigan, not to be confused with Brannigan, another, more popular show that he has nothing to do with. He waxes poetic about Shakespeare and teaches an acting class to pass the time while showing up to auditions dressed like Fonzie, even though nobody is interested in casting him. He’s completely delusional and justifies his dry spell by suggesting that “these things take time.” Meanwhile, his nephew Matt, who’s merely visiting to try the whole Hollywood thing, is receiving countless voicemails from Kevin Costner, Francis Ford Coppola, and Steven Spielberg, begging for a callback. He’s an exceptionally gifted actor, and we never see him on screen.

What truly drives Lookwell’s personality is his inflated sense of self. He played a detective on TV and was even given an honorary badge by the local precinct in 1972. He carries the badge, which is encased in acrylic, everywhere he goes and uses it to try solving real crimes, much to the chagrin of every officer on duty. More often than not, his instincts lead him to the wrong places in silly disguises as he inadvertently ruins planned sting operations orchestrated by actual officers who know what they’re doing. When things somehow work out in his favor, he smugly pats himself on the back, making it known that the police would be helpless without his invaluable sleuthing skills.

Lookwell 1991

Characters like Ty Lookwell, who lack any semblance of self-awareness, are difficult to portray because the actor has to fully commit to the bit without ever breaking the illusion. Adam West, a former superhero actor, understood the assignment and brought his signature deadpan delivery to the premise. He’s stone-faced and stoic even when he’s dressed like a homeless man at a fundraising event, loudly declaring that the sidewalk is his bed even though everybody in the room knows he’s actually failed actor Ty Lookwell wearing a silly costume. He never cracks a smile or looks inward for even a second. He simply lounges around his house watching reruns of Bannigan while eating “Firm Pops,” the frozen treats that “tighten your skin.”

What Could Have Been

Lookwell 1991

Had Lookwell been pitched at a different time, it might have had a fighting chance. It was simply too ahead of its potential audience, one that would be molded by the Simpsons mania that was slowly consuming the world. It’s profoundly stupid, but also incredibly cerebral. Like Golden Era Simpsons, there are plenty of sight gags and visual jokes you’ll miss if you blink, and it boasts the kind of quick-witted exchanges Conan O’Brien has built an entire career around since the pilot was shelved after airing its only episode.

That lone episode is still incredibly difficult to find in its original form, and the versions circulating online have abysmal playback quality. Presently, there’s an HD upscaled version available on YouTube that looks surprisingly great, and it’s absolutely worth 23 minutes of your time if you’re a diehard fan of The Simpsons and everything Conan O’Brien has brought to the table since first showing up on the scene in the late 1980s as a writer for SNL. It’s a relic from another era, and it’s a shame we never got a full series out of Lookwell, but at least it still exists for us to enjoy decades later.

The Return Of Star Wars’ Biggest Star Has Opened Up A Galaxy Of Possibilities

The Return Of Star Wars’ Biggest Star Has Opened Up A Galaxy Of Possibilities

By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

When Lucasfilm began landing Star Wars projects on Disney+, we saw the return of a few familiar faces that it seemed like we’d never see again. One of them was Boba Fett, the fearsome bounty hunter who popped up on The Mandalorian before headlining his own show. Another was Obi-Wan Kenobi, whose solo show saw the return of Prequel Trilogy veterans Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. To everyone’s surprise, Christensen returned in Ahsoka to seemingly impart some last bit of Jedi wisdom upon his titular Padawan.

But this wasn’t Christensen’s last appearance in our favorite galaxy far, far away. He’s already confirmed to return for Ahsoka Season 2, and Star Wars scooper Daniel Richtman recently dropped a bombshell report that Christensen will be appearing in at least two more projects for the franchise. While he doesn’t yet know what these projects will be, one thing’s for sure: the return of everyone’s favorite Darth Vader actor may breathe new life into a franchise that has been going through the motions for way too long.

Somehow, Anakin Returned

ahsoka anakin

While Daniel Richtman has reported that Hayden Christensen would be appearing in at least two more Star Wars projects, he doesn’t have any info as to exactly what those projects could be. There is an entire galaxy of possibilities, some of which may be more exciting for fans than others. Even though the first season was pretty “meh” and stretched the boundaries of canon, plenty would be happy to see a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, even if (or maybe especially if) it was just another excuse to get McGregor and Christensen onscreen together again.

If Disney is feeling a bit more ambitious, we might get the opposite: a Darth Vader solo show. While there was only so much for Kenobi to do between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope (he was supposed to be a hermit guarding Luke Skywalker, after all), Vader was doing plenty of interesting things: getting used to his new body, establishing the Imperial status quo, hunting Jedi, training Inquisitors, and so on. It would be tough to pull off, but a Vader-centric show with the pathos and gravitas of Andor could easily become the best Star Wars series ever made.

The Man, The Myth, The Sith

hayden christensen

However, it’s far likelier that Hayden Christensen will continue making minor, Ahsoka-style cameos in other shows rather than stepping fully into the spotlight. Personally, I’d love to see him play a supporting role in a Doctor Aphra series. In case you’re unfamiliar, Aphra is a canonical comics character who is like a fem-swapped cross between Indiana Jones and Han Solo. In the comics, she ends up working for Vader before faking her death to gain her freedom. Seeing her and her murderbot sidekicks onscreen is likelier than you might think. After all, her comic book frenemy, Krrsantan, already popped up in The Book of Boba Fett.

Without the clairvoyance of the Force, it’s impossible to know exactly where Hayden Christensen will pop up in this galaxy far, far away. But he’s a beloved actor playing a fan-favorite character, so it’s a sure bet that whatever Star Wars show he appears on is going to be a hit. Personally, I’m hoping Disney will finally accept my pitch: a workplace comedy where Admiral Motti and Darth Vader work aboard the Death Star and have a relationship akin to Jim and Dwight from The Office. My working title? Imperial Entanglements.

Brittain’s Most Gripping Detective Thriller Officially Lands Season 4 Renewal

Bertie Carvel as Adam in Dalgliesh

British detective dramas have become increasingly popular with American viewers, with the likes of Shetland, Death in Paradise, Patience, Blue Lights, and even the latest Sherlock Holmes adaptation garnering consistent attention. Among the highest-rated is this three-part series, which premiered in 2021 to positive reviews and whose future fans have eagerly awaited news about, especially since its third season ended two years ago. Now, there’s exciting news, as the crime series is set to return to screens — but with a twist.

Created and written by Helen Edmundson as an adaptation of the best-selling Adam Dalgliesh novels by P. D. James, Dalgliesh is an intriguing detective drama that sees Bertie Carvel star as the title character, a mysterious detective–poet. The series premiered on Acorn TV on November 1, 2021, in the U.S., followed by a Channel 5 premiere three days later in the U.K. Seasons 2 and 3 then came about in April 2023 and December 2024, respectively, with a fourth season appearing uncertain at the time.

With that said, fans will be delighted to know that producers Acorn TV and New Pictures announced on May 18, 2026, that Dalgliesh will be back per new reports. However, the series sadly won’t be broadcast on the U.K.’s Channel 5 anymore. Instead, Dalgliesh Season 4 will premiere on Acorn TV in the U.K., U.S., and Canada. “It’s a real pleasure returning to the world of Dalgliesh, brought to life by the brilliant Helen Edmundson and Bertie Carvel,” Elaine Pyke, co-founder and creative director, New Pictures, and executive producer of Dalgliesh, said of the renewal. An official premiere date has yet to be announced, but that should be expected in due course.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

John Travolta on Viral Cannes Look With Beret and Glasses

Published

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

John Travolta opened up about why he’s been sporting a specific look during the Cannes Film Festival.

“The old school directors wore berets and the glasses and I thought, ‘That’s what I’m doing,” Travolta, 72, explained while chatting with CNN on Monday, May 18, about his accessories at the star-studded event.

“I’ve been around for over 50 years doing movies but I can’t tell when I look back the difference between the events,” Travolta added. “And I said, I’m a director this time. You’re an actor, play the part of a director. Look like an old school director.”

The Grease star went on to say that he researched photos of directors in the “20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s,” and wanted to “do an homage to being a director,” he said. Travolta added, “So I’m gonna play the part of being a director and then when I look back, I’ll know, ‘Oh that was Propeller One-Way Night Coach, that was Cannes, that’s when I won the Pale d’Or. I will have vividness of it.”

Travolta debuted his first beret and pair of eyeglasses on Friday, May 15, during the Karma premiere. He wore a white cap and thin gold-rimmed glasses. The Cash Out actor styled his look with a white dress shirt and matching tie, a black vest, a blazer and pants. He completed his ensemble with leather shoes and a white pocket square.

He wore another beret the following day, during the Propeller One-Way Night Coach photocall on Saturday, May 16. He rocked a black version of the soft cap, which he matched with dark-rimmed circular glasses. He also wore a black suede top with buttons lining his chest and white stitching. He paired the piece with charcoal jeans and leather Chelsea boots.

Galaxy Quest Has A Raunchy, R-Rated Director’s Cut

Galaxy Quest Has A Raunchy, R-Rated Director's Cut

Galaxy Quest’s original director’s cut was an R-rated version complete with naughty words and other shenanigans.

Galaxy Quest was one of the last great PG-rated movies. It was completed before Hollywood abandoned the more family-friendly rating in favor of skewing its movies towards a PG-13. So the last thing you’d expect is for there to be a raunchier, more adult version of Galaxy Quest out there, but apparently a fully R-rated version exists.

Galaxy Quest‘s original director’s cut was an R-rated version complete with naughty words and other shenanigans. That’s according to John Carter producer Lindsey Collins, who told corporate media that she learned of the film’s more adult origins from Sigourney Weaver herself.

Here’s what Collins had to say:

We had lunch with Sigourney [Weaver] who was telling us that there actually used to be an R-rated version of that movie which was awesome. It was the director’s cut and it was R-rated and everybody was swearing and there were sex scenes, and the whole thing.

They didn’t know what to do with it, so they had to re-edit the whole thing and made it what it is today. We were like, ‘How do we get our hands on the R-rated version of Galaxy Quest?’ She said ‘I don’t know!’ and we were like, ‘Come on, Sigourney!’

Multiple cast members have now confirmed that an R-rated cut of the movie exists, but it’s still not available out there to watch. Below are just some of the changes present in the R-rated version.

  • Sigourney Weaver’s famous “Well, screw that!” line was originally “Well, fuck that!” and was awkwardly dubbed over on purpose because she hated the censorship.
  • The original script had darker and more adult material, including:
    • Gwen DeMarco attempting to seduce aliens.
    • More bizarre Alan Rickman/Dr. Lazarus material.
    • A much gorier convention crash sequence where people were reportedly decapitated.
  • Several Rickman scenes were cut because DreamWorks thought they were “too kinky” or strange for the softer rating they wanted. Tim Allen described one deleted Lazarus set as looking like “a proctologist’s dream and nightmare.”
space battles

It’s believed a more complete R-rated Galaxy Quest cut still exists in Paramount/DreamWorks archives, but no credible source has ever said there’s a finished director’s cut ready for release. There probably never will be.

As much as we’re all curious to see this cut of the film, I am actually glad that they went with the more family-friendly version for release. Galaxy Quest is one of those rare movies that is equally enjoyable for all age groups. Adults will love the sly references to the SF shows they grew up loving, while kids will love the silliness and the adventure.
