Barbra Streisand chose comfort over her big day at the Cannes Film Festival.
The actress revealed that a concerning health issue has prevented her from attending the annual event in person to receive a well-deserved award.
Barbra Streisand was in the news recently following criticism of her 2026 Oscar performance, where fans claimed her once-powerhouse vocals were gone.

The octogenarian shared in a statement from Sunday, May 18, that due to an ongoing knee injury, she would not be present at the Cannes Film Festival, where she is receiving an honorary Palme d’Or award.
She affirmed that her absence would be on the advice of her doctors as she continues to recover from the injury.
Despite this, Streisand reiterated in the statement that she feels honored to receive the award and had been looking forward to celebrating iconic movies at the 79th edition of the event.
“I was also very much looking forward to spending time with colleagues whom I so admire and, of course, returning to France, a place I have always loved,” she continued.
The singer extended her warm congratulations to all the filmmakers around the world who would be present at the event to showcase their extraordinary talent and creative vision.
As shared by the Festival de Cannes, she also thanked the festival organizers, who continue to lend a voice and support the art of cinema.

At the event, attendees will witness a celebration of Streisand’s significant decades-long contribution as part of the closing ceremony.
However, the singer’s statement was not received in silence; Iris Knobloch, Thierry Frémaux, and the entire festival team sent Streisand their warmest wishes for a prompt recovery.
In their announcement for Streisand’s honors, the festival praised the actress as a “dazzling actress, an unparalleled singer, a force of nature, humor, and sensuality.”
The musician has a few career achievements on her radar, including 150 million records sold worldwide and being the only artist to score a number-one album across six consecutive decades from the 1960s to the 2010s.
She also won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her debut feature film, “Funny Girl,” and clinched a second Oscar for composing the love theme “Evergreen” for “A Star Is Born.”

The Golden Globes winner belted out a sonorous tune in honor of Robert Redford, who died last year at the recently concluded Oscars, alongside a touching speech.
As shared by The Blast, Streisand performed a song from their 1973 film, and the fans’ reception lit another fire in her.
Several narratives reported that the actress’s voice no longer sounded the same, prompting her to consider quitting live performances for good.
Although she reportedly does not care about the overwhelming comments, she also knows there might be some truth in them.
A source close to the singer also explained that Streisand is not considering the financial side of turning down live performances, as the fading vocals are not good optics for her career.
The insider continued that she would rather be remembered at her best than be compared to a version of herself from 50 years ago.
As for the tour part of her career, the source added that the chapter is closed for good, but fans can look forward to the superstar’s recorded music.

Streisand’s performance attracted criticism, not only from internet users but also from her colleague, who felt she deserved the spot on that stage instead of the musician.
The Blast noted that Fonda referenced her long working history, appearing in movies like “Tall Story,” “The Chase,” “Barefoot in the Park,” and “The Electric Horseman.”
She reiterated that while Streisand has only one movie with Redford, she has four, and their collaborations definitely went beyond just creative partnerships.
According to Fonda, she was always in love with him and in admiration of his character and influence in the film industry.
In her words, “[He was] the most gorgeous human being and had such great values. He did a lot for movies — he lifted up independent movies.”
During the tribute, Streisand praised Redford for being so thoughtful and bold, who blazed the trail and left a vacuum in people’s hearts with his absence.

The actress said in 2023 that she no longer has the energy to take on movie roles, and in 11 years, she has lost interest in appearing in any project.
She continued that the challenges of navigating film projects have made it exhausting, especially trying to create the movie’s structure and actually making it happen.
She continued in the interview that if making movies for her were easy, she would have never written a book, but the stress of bringing a movie project to life made it exhausting for her to begin one.
In another interview, Streisand added that throughout her career, her strong attitude has rattled men because she wanted more bite from the cake.
The actress continued that she always wanted to do more, to direct, to produce, to make creative decisions void of any external influence.
Benny Blanco may be an open book when it comes to his relationship with Selena Gomez, but there’s one topic he says is strictly off limits. The music producer recently admitted he refuses to spill details about his private life with his wife, making it clear that what happens behind closed doors is staying there.

During a recent episode of his “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast, which he co-hosts alongside Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco, Blanco was put on the spot about his relationship with Gomez. When asked to reveal intimate details about their marriage, the producer quickly shut down the conversation. “I’m not allowed to talk about that publicly,” Blanco said.
His answer prompted Lil Dicky to jokingly ask whether the Only Murders in the Building actress had made him sign some kind of NDA. Blanco, however, insisted it had nothing to do with legal paperwork. “No. I’m just like, a gentleman,” he explained. “Kind of just a thing I do. I’m like, a gentleman. So I don’t know. Don’t worry.”

While Blanco may be staying quiet about one part of their relationship, he has previously shared plenty of other personal details about Gomez. Earlier this month, the producer jokingly revealed that the singer-actress has what he described as the “diet of a 5-year-old.”
During an appearance with Gwyneth Paltrow on the “Goop” podcast, Blanco recalled walking in on Gomez eating fast food first thing in the morning. “This morning I walked in, and she was eating Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning,” he shared, adding that Gomez loves “burgers and fries.”
According to Blanco, Gomez tends to favor “whatever is bad for your diet” and “doesn’t really like fruits or vegetables.”

Even though Blanco is keeping certain details of their marriage private, both he and Gomez have been candid about what makes their relationship work. In a past conversation with Interview Magazine, the couple opened up about how their opposite personalities actually complement one another.
“Oh yeah, I have the best time,” Gomez said of their relationship. “I’m more of an introvert that can be an extrovert, but the obligation has to be there. So it’s nice to have someone who balances that out and gets me out of the house.”
Blanco agreed, explaining that while he may be more outgoing, Gomez brings a sense of calm into his life. “But it’s so good because I get her out, and she calms me down when I need it,” he shared.

The producer then got especially candid about just how deeply he feels connected to the singer. “She’s the first person that I’ve been with where I’m like, ‘I don’t even give a f-ck what’s going on. I could sit in this bed with you for 72 hours and feel like I didn’t miss anything,’” Blanco said.
He continued, “She’s like my f-cking heroin and Xanax combined. Whenever I’m feeling anything but perfect, she knows the exact thing to say.”
Blanco also admitted he wishes the pair had figured out their romance sooner. “I’m so pissed that it took this long. It’s like, ‘How did we not figure this out sooner?’ I’m 36 years old,” he added.
Gomez, however, kept it simple, responding: “Timing is everything.”

Blanco has never been shy about expressing just how deeply he feels for Gomez, previously admitting their relationship completely changed his outlook on life and love. Reflecting on where he was before they got together, the producer revealed he made a conscious decision to slow down and focus on finding the right person. “I remember before I was with her, I was like, ‘You know what? I’m going to stop everything I’m doing and just focus all my energy on being a grownup and being with the right person,’” Blanco shared.
Now, Blanco says their relationship feels entirely mutual, with both of them rooting for each other’s success. “Now I worship the ground she walks on, and I feel like she’s the same way to me,” he said. “There’s no ego between us. She’s praying for me to win, and I’m praying for her to win.”
The producer also admitted he constantly thinks about how to make Gomez’s life easier. “And I wake up in the morning. I know she does the same thing, and I’m like, ‘How can I make her life better?’” Blanco explained.
Getting especially candid, Blanco added, “Holding her isn’t close enough. I want to be inside of her whole body. I just feel a thing for her that I can’t even explain. I’m so sappy.”
Chris Abbott spoke out for the first time about expecting his first child with Aubrey Plaza.
“Can we say congratulations?” Jenna Bush Hager asked Abbott, 40, on the Monday, May 18, episode of Today With Jenna and Sheinelle. “You’re expecting a babe.”
Abbott joked, “I thought for my Tony nom! No, no, I’m kidding.”
Bush Hager, 44, noted that Abbott has “a lot going on” at the moment. (Abbott received a 2026 Tony Award nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play category for his role as Biff in Death of a Salesman.)
Abbott noted that there’s “too much going on” in his life.
“We love Aubrey here,” Bush Hager continued. “We’re so happy for the both of you.”
Abbott responded, “That’s very nice. Thank you very much. It’s very exciting.”

Plaza’s rep confirmed to People last month that she and Abbott are expecting their first baby together. A source told the publication that the actress’ pregnancy was “a beautiful surprise” and the couple are “very blessed” to become first-time parents this fall.
Plaza and Abbott worked together in the 2020 thriller Black Bear and 2023 Off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea before things turned romantic between them. Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi reported in July 2025 that Plaza and Abbott were together after they were spotted at The Chatham Berry Farm just outside of New York City. They attended a New York Knicks game together later that same year.
Prior to their relationship, Plaza was married to the late Jeff Baena. Plaza had been separated from Baena for four months prior to his death by suicide at age 47 in January 2025.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy,” Plaza’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement after Baena’s death. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
Plaza discussed his death for the first time during an August 2025 appearance on Amy Poehler‘s “Good Hang” podcast.
“To get it out of the way, people wanna see you and see how you are,” Poehler said at the time. “They love you, and they wanna see you. You had this terrible, terrible, tragic year. You lost your husband. You’ve been dealing with that, and you’ve been looking for all different ways in which to feel and find support.”
She added, “On behalf of all of the people who feel like they know you, and the people who do know you, how are you feeling today?”
Plaza said she was “happy” to be with Poehler at the time before getting into a discussion about her grief.
“Overall, I’m here, and I’m functioning, and I feel grateful to be moving through the world,” Plaza. “I think, like, I’m OK, but it’s a daily struggle, obviously.”

From Eric Kripke‘s beloved superhero series The Boys and the fantasy favorite Good Omens on Prime Video, to the Jon Hamm-led Your Friends and Neighbors and Elle Fanning‘s Margo’s Got Money Troubles on Apple TV, Netflix is currently facing some serious streaming competition. This is evident in the current streaming charts, with the recent Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano fight and the hilarious Roast of Kevin Hart currently placing first and second in the U.S. However, despite the current top 10 perhaps lacking a global phenomenon, Netflix still has a wonderful array of content waiting to be discovered. So, without further ado, here’s a list of three shows you should binge-watch on Netflix.
For more recommendations, check out our list of the best shows and movies on Netflix.
Disclaimer: These titles are available on US Netflix.
Earlier this month, the hotly anticipated final season of Starz’s acclaimed fantasy series Outlander debuted to great acclaim, scoring a perfect 100% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s (Caitríona Balfe) journey, watched by millions for over a decade, is finally about to come to a heartfelt and likely explosive end. But if you’re yet to start this epic fantasy adventure, you can do so right now on Netflix.
Although Season 7, Part 2 and Season 8 are currently unavailable on the streamer, most of Outlander‘s 100+ episodes are now on Netflix for your binge-watching pleasure. From stunning costumes and gorgeous backdrops to intense drama and heartfelt romance, Outlander has had it all since its 2014 debut, turning Diana Gabaldon‘s novels into the stuff of TV legend.
The road to release for the second season of this former web series has been quite the rollercoaster. Created by One Tree Hill alums James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, Everyone Is Doing Great was once a gem in the Hulu catalog, with an acclaimed first season ready to be followed by an exciting second. Alas, Hulu pulled the plug, with Netflix finally swooping in and saving the day, as the unseen second season finally made its streaming debut earlier this month.
The series follows Lafferty’s Jeremy and Colletti’s Seth, five years after a successful run on the television vampire drama, Eternals. However, their fame is starting to fade, with the allure of the spotlight becoming all too painful. Leaning on each other for support, the pair tries to reclaim their glory. A smart, darkly comic series that deserves much more attention than it gets, discover a true gem this week in Everyone Is Doing Great.
Another new addition to the Netflix catalog, and one of the most exciting non-English language arrivals this month, is The WONDERfools, a South Korean superhero comedy created by Kang Eun-kyung. The series follows a ragtag bunch who accidentally stumble into superhuman abilities. When a rising evil threatens the safety of the world, it is up to these misfits to pull together and somehow save the day.
A neat new take on the tired superhero genre, The WONDERfools is a breath of fresh air, especially in a streaming world dominated by The Boys. Packed with great music, slick editing, and a dose of late ’90s nostalgia, this new arrival boasts more than enough quality to become your next obsession. Whether you’re a fan of non-English language series or not, this is well worth your time.

Yellowstone is back on the menu for a lot of people right now, and with good reason. Dutton Ranch‘s premiere on Paramount+ has driven people back to Yellowstone, and that means, for some, all the way back to the start. The family history of the Duttons is a violent, dangerous, epic and brutal one, but every good story had to start somewhere, and that’s where viewers appear to be looking right now on Paramount+. Before the Dutton Ranch there was… nothing, except the barren wastes of Montana. But the story of how it became the Dutton Ranch is one of the most perfectly made miniseries in television history.
There’s something magical about 1883. It’s not as star-studded as 1923, and definitely a lot more punishing and brutal. And obviously it’s got very little in common with the later spin-offs, because, well, it’s set in the 1800s. The show sees the earliest generation of the Dutton family as they make the brutal journey west toward Montana, looking for the start to their legacy. But what makes it work is the supporting cast members they meet along the way.
America’s uncle, Tom Hanks, pops up in the second episode as General George Meade during a Civil War flashback involving James Dutton, while Landman‘s Billy Bob Thornton appears as Marshal Jim Courtright. It’s not a case where both guys come in here and start dominating the show, it’s more like a little sprinking of stardust. Hanks’ appearance is notable because it’s essentially a dream sequence, a fantasy, in the wake of one of the most awful moments in a character’s life. And that’s why it’s still doing so well now on streaming, because you don’t have to be completely caught up on every branch of the Yellowstone universe to understand 1883. It’s a family struggling to make it to their final destination, and everyone can empathize with that.
1883 stars Sam Elliott (A Star Is Born, Road House) as Shea Brennan, Tim McGraw (The Blind Side, Friday Night Lights) as James Dutton, Faith Hill (The Stepford Wives, Dixieland) as Margaret Dutton, Isabel May (I Want You Back, Run Hide Fight) as Elsa Dutton, LaMonica Garrett (Clemency, Transformers: Dark of the Moon) as Thomas, Marc Rissmann (Overlord, The Last Kingdom) as Josef, Audie Rick (Kenobi: A Star Wars Story, 1883) as John Dutton Sr., Eric Nelsen (A Walk Among the Tombstones, The Bay) as Ennis, James Landry Hébert (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Gangster Squad) as Wade, Noah Le Gros (The Beach House, A Score to Settle) as Colton, Rita Wilson (Sleepless in Seattle, Runaway Bride) as Carolyn, Graham Greene (Dances with Wolves, Wind River) as Spotted Eagle, Martin Sensmeier (The Magnificent Seven, Wind River) as Sam, Gratiela Brancusi (Mayor of Kingstown, 1883) as Noemi, Anna Fiamora (DownBeat, The Way Out) as Risa, and Amanda Jaros (Women of the Movement, The Resident) as Alina.
1883 is streaming on Paramount+.

A New York judge dealt a major blow to Luigi Mangione on Monday, May 18, ruling that key evidence against the accused CEO killer, including a weapon and manifesto-style writings, can be used in his upcoming state trial, Us Weekly can confirm.
Judge Gregory Carro‘s decision came after nine days of pretrial hearings at the Manhattan Criminal Court in December 2025, during which Mangione’s defense team argued that items found in their client’s backpack — including a 3D-printed handgun equipped with a silencer and a notebook that prosecutors claimed had detailed his intention to “wack” (a misspelling of “whack”) a health insurance executive — should be inadmissible in court since police did not have a search warrant when they arrested Mangione.
Mangione’s lawyers had also fought to suppress statements that the 28-year-old made prior to being detained at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in December 2024. Bodycam footage played in court confirmed the defense’s claim that officers asked Mangione questions for nearly 20 minutes before reading him his Miranda rights.
Carro ruled during Monday’s hearing, which Mangione attended in a navy suit, that the gun and notebook can be presented to a jury once the trial begins on September 8 because police discovered both items at their station. However, in a small win for Mangione, the judge found that other pieces of evidence, including a loaded gun magazine, passport, cellphone, wallet and computer chip, were inadmissible due to what he called an “improper, warrantless search” at McDonald’s.
The Ivy League graduate has pleaded not guilty to the 11 state charges against him, two of which Carro dropped in September 2025 due to insufficient evidence of terrorism. He faces life in prison in the New York case.
Mangione was also hit with four federal charges following his arrest. However, U.S. District Judge Margaret M. Garnett dismissed two of the counts, including murder through the use of a firearm, in January, sparing Mangione of the death penalty.
At the time, Garnett also ruled that the gun and other evidence can be used in Mangione’s federal trial, which is set to begin in January 2027. He has entered a not guilty plea in that case as well.
Additionally, the Maryland native faces five charges in Pennsylvania, including carrying a firearm without a license and false identification to law enforcement. He did not enter a plea there before being extradited to New York for what his attorneys — and Mangione himself — have called “double jeopardy,” a legal phrase used to describe a person being prosecuted twice for the same offense.
Since being taken into custody, Mangione has amassed tens of thousands of supporters thanks to both his physical appearance and a wider frustration with the healthcare system in the United States. His legal defense fund has raised more than $1.5 million to date, and he gets hundreds of letters a day at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn.
“I am overwhelmed by — and grateful for — everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support,” Mangione said in his only public statement in February 2025. “Powerfully, this support has transcended political, racial and even class divisions, as mail has flooded MDC from across the country and around the globe. While it is impossible for me to reply to most letters, please know that I read every one that I receive. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to write. I look forward to hearing more in the future.”
2026 has already been a busy year for Taylor Sheridan so far, but that doesn’t come as much of a surprise to close followers of his work. Sheridan got the ball rolling in 2026 with a pair of new releases, The Madison and Marshals, but only the latter is still on the air. Marshals is set to come to a close soon, though, but the series has been renewed for Season 2, and leading star Luke Grimes has already confirmed that the neo-Western has received an increased episode count in Season 2. As for The Madison, the Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer-led Western is more similar to the first season of Yellowstone, which may be why it resonated so strongly with fans. The show has been picked up for second and third seasons, and while it’s unclear at this time when it will return, it’s clear that Paramount has big plans for The Madison.
One of Sheridan’s most popular shows to emerge in the last few years is Tulsa King, which has aired three full seasons and has another on the way later this year. Leading star Sylvester Stallone took to his personal Instagram not long ago to confirm that production on Tulsa King Season 4 was finished, and that the team was in the editing phase now, getting ready to deliver new episodes soon. This afternoon, news broke that Eden Lee has joined the cast of Tulsa King Season 4 in the recurring role of Maya, who is described as an “officious Chief of Staff for the Governor of Oklahoma.” Lee is best known for starring as Writer Jessica in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and she’s also famous for her work in Zero Day, Parish, and Twisted Metal.
Paramount has yet to assign Tulsa King Season 4 an official slot on the calendar, but this news will likely come sometime over the summer, setting up the series for a premiere around September or October. Even Landman, which is just now starting to begin filming, is confirmed to return later this year, so there’s no reason why Tulsa King won’t be coming sooner rather than later. Taylor Sheridan fans will also have the third season of Lioness coming at the end of this summer, likely right before Tulsa King Season 4.
Check out the first three seasons of Tulsa King on Paramount Plus and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 4.

Days of Our Lives 2-Week Spoilers for May 18-29, 2026 stun with Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) losing it and blasting somebody for their epic betrayal. Plus, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) is packing to leave unless something drastic changes.
It’s Belinda from Soap Dirt and we’ll get into everything happening these two weeks with Philip and Gabi and Paulina, Abe and Lexie along with Xander, Kristen, and many more. But first, please click subscribe if you are not following us yet. All right, let’s get right into it.
On Monday, May 18th, we’re going to pick up from Friday’s episode. We’re back at the Salem Inn, and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) is working on Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) to kill EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) for her. Kristen makes him an enticing offer and she and Xander start making out and getting frisky. But it looks like things go awry with him and maybe Kristen plays a little rough because Xander’s arm or shoulder is injured and he winds up over at University Hospital looking to get it fixed. And it looks like Sarah has to treat her Xander and she may have some questions for how the injury happened.
Also picking up from Friday, Gwen is out for coffee with her ex-bestie Leo and is venting about her Xander frustrations, but she’d better tiptoe about her anger with EJ over the Versix deal because Leo would certainly pounce on that. Sarah and Brady get even closer, but I kind of suspect they’re on the road to nowhere. Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) tells Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) something that’s hard for him to hear, and I’m guessing it’s about Stephanie and her feelings about kids.
And the question is, even if she doesn’t want kids of her own, can she accept Alex and Joy Wesley‘s (AlexAnn Hopkins) daughter into her life? Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) doesn’t want Paulina worried about her biopsy just because of all the Lexie stress. Chanel already pretty much knows it’s going to be a cancer diagnosis, but she may not let Paulina know the bad news just yet.
Tuesday, May 19th, Alex reassures Stephanie and they enjoy some romance, but their troubles are far from over. And Philip checks in with Joy and he’s going to see adorable little Kelsey. Obviously, Philip and Joy have some history because of his past with Chloe Lane, her big sis. Plus, little Kelsey is family to Philip as Alex’s daughter. Also, this week, Joy is hanging out with Lani in the park. So, she may be watching Trey during Chanel’s biopsy. And then, Lani tells Joy that Chanel has a lot on her plate right now and for her just to give her some space.
Meanwhile, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) thanks EJ for bringing Lexie Carver back. I wonder if EJ is going to tell Abe that Paulina has known for quite a while. And Lexie decides she wants to meet Abe’s new wife, Paulina. Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) opens up to Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez). And obviously, it’s about Lexie’s return.
Wednesday, May 20th, is the last day of May sweeps. And we’re going to see Gabi making Liam an offer. I wonder if Gabi is going to dangle some sort of cash payoff if Liam agrees to dump Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia) and not date her anymore. Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) and Belle’s long postponed date happens. They’re sitting in the town square enjoying wine when something catches their eye. Cat worries what EJ may recall if Marlena hypnotizes him.
So, we could see Cat appealing to Marlena for help. Amy is devastated and grieving her daughter Sophia Choi (Madelyn Kientz). So, we’ll have to see if her body was found downstream by then. Plus, Arianna and Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) talk about their complicated feelings about Sophia, who of course was a walking nightmare.
Thursday, May 21st, Xander has a suggestion for Gwen. It may be about her wanting more from Xander. Maybe he’s offering Gwen a compromise, but it looks like Xander circles back to Kristen the same day, even though he’s injured. Looks like Xander may be up for round two. Tony tries to calm his frustrated wife, Anna. She is done with Salem, but Tony wants a new CEO at DiMera Enterprises before they leave.
So, Anna’s going to go over to see Philip at Titan. And Anna tells Philip something that absolutely stuns him. Like, jaw-dropping, mouth hanging open, just stunned. So, Anna may reveal Gabi’s corporate espionage to him. We’ll see if this is something that Tony asked Anna to do or if she’s gone rogue.
Philip shares the truth with Gabi. And I wonder if Philip’s going to admit they set up Johnny with Bonnie’s book. Paulina visits with Lexie in her hospital room. Also this week, Abe is stunned when Paulina says she’s moving out. And I wonder if that comes after her chat with Lexie. Plus, Theo tells Abe that he cannot keep postponing his decision on whether he is going to leave Paulina and be with Lexie or stick with Paulina.
Friday, May 22nd, Xander surprises Sarah. I wonder if Xander’s new fling with Kristen is going to be found out. Sarah absolutely hates Kristen since she kidnapped her, stashed her on that island, drugged her, and really screwed up her life. So Xander sleeping with Kristen is so much worse than him sexing up Gwen. Gabi makes a confession. She may be forced to tell her boyfriend, Philip, the truth. Philip tells Gabi that he’s done and he wants nothing more to do with her. He tells her, “Pack your things and get the hell out.”
Philip is raging at Gabi outside the Bistro. However, there’s a chance this Philip tantrum may just be Gabi having a little terrified daydream. We’ll see because you know how Days of Our Lives likes to fake us out sometimes with stuff in the promo that isn’t real. Anna and Tony are in the square staring at a scene. So maybe the thing with Philip raging at Gabi is real because Anna does go see Philip this week and says something shocking and then Tony may swoop in.

Kayla reminisces with Steve about their decades-long romance. We’ll be getting lots of classic scenes of their love story, including when they brought baby Stephanie home. This is Kayla’s 40th anniversary in Salem, so it is a huge milestone for Mary Beth Evans. Steve wants to know if Kayla is ready for another adventure and she says with him at her side, yes. Gwen is taken off guard when her dad Jack Deveraux pops up at the Salem Inn. He and Gwen have been doing a little better, but of course his wife Jennifer still can’t stand Gwen.
Plus, we’re just a few weeks away from the fourth anniversary of Abby’s death. So maybe it’s related to that. But Gwen is stunned and asked Jack why he’s there. And he may not be thrilled that Gwen’s back involved with Xander. And I do wonder if Jack is looking to rebuild a relationship with Gwen or this may be something to do with Lexie’s return. If Jack has any inkling that Gwen was working with EJ, he may also want to know if Abby might be resurrected. Stephanie checks in on Alex. Their troubles seem to be far from over despite their best efforts.
Then we have the week of May 25th through the 29th. We are going to have Memorial Day in Salem. We’ll see if there’s any big barbecues or fireworks or trips to the lake. I’m also wondering if people are celebrating and Sophia’s corpse just washes up because we need some closure. Jack may ask Gwen for help. He may want her to snoop around and see if Abigail’s in a person pod since he and Chad exhumed her grave and Abby’s remains are not there.
Chad already talked to EJ about the possibility of resurrecting Abby and he said that it can’t happen, but that may be a lie. Eli is overdue to join Lani and the twins in Salem. Ari may lose Liam because of Gabi’s scheme, but if she does pay him off to dump her daughter and Ari finds out, she’s obviously going to lose it on Gabi.
Lexie gets more visitors as old friends can’t wait to see her back to the land of the living. I expect that Marlena, Kayla, Roman, and others are all going to want to see her. And of course, her little brother EJ will stop by to explain exactly what he did and how much he’s happy that she’s back. Gabi may need some comfort from Theo. And Amy keeps pressing for justice for Sophia as Kristen remains getting away with murder.
Anderson Cooper said goodbye to 60 Minutes after 20 years as one of the show’s correspondents.
“There’s very few things that have been around for as long as 60 Minutes has and [have been able to] maintain the quality that it has,” Cooper, 58, said during his final show in May 2026. “Things can always evolve and change, and I think that’s awesome, and things should evolve and change, but I hope the core of what 60 Minutes is always remains.”
60 Minutes debuted on CBS in 1968. Cooper took on his role as one of the show’s main correspondents in 2006. He confirmed his exit from the show in February 2026.
“Being a correspondent at 60 Minutes has been one of the great honors of my career,” Cooper told Variety in a statement at the time. “I got to tell amazing stories, and work with some of the best producers, editors and camera crews in the business.”
He added, “For nearly 20 years, I’ve been able to balance my jobs at CNN and CBS, but I have little kids now and I want to spend as much time with them as possible, while they still want to spend time with me.”

Cooper’s February 2026 statement explained the reason for his departure. The journalist shared that he wanted to spend more time with sons Wyatt, 6, and Sebastian, 4, whom he coparents with ex Benjamin Maisani.
The journalist said his final goodbye to the show on May 17, 2026.
“I think the independence of 60 Minutes has been critical. I think the trust it has with viewers is critical to the success of 60 Minutes,” Cooper said as part of his farewell speech. “When you see a 60 Minutes story, and you’re like, ‘That was a really good story,’ it was a good story because it requires time, it requires patience, it requires money.”
He added, “I hope that’s known and honored and valued and continues.”
No, he made that clear during his final episode on the show.
“The whole time I’ve done pieces on 60 Minutes, my full-time job has been over at CNN, and still is,” he explained. “It’s been really challenging to do the kind of work you need to do to have a great 60 Minutes piece on.”
Cooper noted that CNN “doesn’t like it” if he took time off for 60 Minutes.
“I’ve worked mostly for 60 Minutes on weekends,” he added. “My vacation time at CNN has been working on 60 Minutes pieces. I’ve loved it, but it’s been tough.”
Cooper will continue to host his daily show Anderson Cooper 360° on CNN.
